Haru has been better on meds, but stuff has come up and might need surgery, hopefully quick and easy though!

YV has had a lot of little paper cuts of badness happening as well as burnout leading to this extended break.

But he's back in the office and working!

not enough of a spotlight is shown on Ratthi and Gurathin in Fugitive Telemetry. SecUnit isn't allowed to hack government security systems so it invites its Two Best Guy Friends to come watch it break into a transport ship, AND BOTH OF THEM ARE LIKE "sure thing, sounds fun" ?? They put up the weakest "are you sure this is a good idea?" argument but otherwise just do what SecUnit needs (which is stand in front of security cameras and act as character witnesses). SecUnit's narration also implies that it would have just let its Two Best Guy Friends tag along for the rest of its murder investigation, for funsies, except the cops said no (booooo).

later THE SAME DAY, SecUnit (famously allergic to asking for help) messages their group chat "I need help" with ZERO context, which gives Ratthi and Gurathin such a shock they almost knock their table over. then it facetimes them from the NATIONAL HISTORY MUSEUM to ask which of these Preserved Artifacts works best for jetting out into space? and Ratthi and Gurathin are like, "that one with the red tags, but ummm why?"

"don't worry about it," it says, "I'll tell you later."

then it HANGS UP and they don't hear from it for the rest of the day.

Like, you've only seen this uncle at a couple of family gatherings and he's a little scary sure, but once you get past the serious expression and kind of sad and scared way he looks at the rest of your family, he's really nice and gives the best piggy back rides. You don't get why your grandma and grandpa are so mean to him or why he gets picked on and they get mad when he tells them it's not true. But everything seems to make sense when your dad admits that he tried to kill him.

They wanted him dead. They didn't want to have to see him again.

Now the question becomes, are they going to do that to you or your sister if you do something they don't like? Or if you're different?

Currently thinking about the inevitable conversation John and Isaiah are going to have after vh! Aria goes back. Like, imagine you're five years old and you walk in on your dad and some stranger who seems to know your name in the upstairs office where you've climbed on the bookshelves on occasion and she looks scared of your dad and mentions other worlds. You go back to distract your little sister like you're told, but that doesn't mean that you don't hear your dad say that he almost killed his little brother- your uncle. That's going to create new worries and questions that need answering, but now - now you are just the slightest bit scared of your dad. Slightest bit is understating it. You're terrified. But you resolve that you're going to get the truth out of him anyways.

If you are a girl who is feeling very upset and guilty that you relate to male characters more than female characters: you are not inherently a misogynist for feeling this way, and you don't have to self-flagellate for not being a good enough feminist. Misogyny is a lot more complex than 'has more favorite boy characters than girl characters' and fandom feminism tends to do a pretty bad job on explaining not just what constitutes misogyny but why. Maybe do some introspection on why it's so much easier for you to imagine yourself in the role of someone who doesn't share your agab, though.
