With so few of his old friends left in the world, he has come to appreciate the smallest of things - and this sly, sometimes frustrating, bard provides him with a strange sense of comfort.

But, of course, that is not something they speak of. Theirs is a... complicated friendship. And a treasured one.

A passing glance is given to the bottle of wine set proudly upon the table between them - though table is something of an exaggerated descriptor, given it's little more than a slab of rock balanced upon other rocks. But, at least here they can be free to talk, away from the prying eyes and ears of the mortals they usually surround themselves with.

He had traveled to Fontaine with record speed, though it mattered little to him as he navigated the streets of a bustling beautiful nation as people seemed to understand he was in little mood for the usual pleasantries. Even less so when he found his destination: the House of Hearth.

He had heard a little of it's goings on from Childe, and that little inkling of information was enough to incite a deep seated rage brewed as one of the children led him into a parlor. "The boy you speak of is with his kind for the moment," he continues. "He is unlikely to return for a few days yet." Surely the archon did not come this way just to meet with a human? Is there another motivation behind the visit that Andrius isn't aware of?

He tends to separate himself from human affairs in general; whatever they do away from his domain has never interested him. It is strange to think that an archon, retired as he may be, would seek out an ordinary human.

Zhongli x Gn! Child Reader | Im twisting it a little to have the reader be considered more of an illuminated beast so it fits a little better with Papa Z! A little angst about immortality, Zhongli feeling the stress of being a parent, Aunty Cloud Retainer, and Big! Sister Ganyu and Big Bro Xiao moments. Reader is about 6 years old. The day Zhongli came home to see random feathers all around the house he thought one of two things. You stole a real duck this time and not its feathers again, or you messed with his pillows and that is why he is seeing all these feathers on the floor. However, when he bent down to pick them up, he noticed the style of the feather. The individual bards and quills of the feather reminded him of one akin to an Adeptus. Specifically Cloud Retainer or Cloud Shaper. But the color and size of the plume, it was more like a swan. Zhongli placed his bag and the few groceries he bought(childe bought) down and heard your little footsteps run down the hall. You came bustling into the main living area. But Zhongli couldn't believe his eyes.

There you were standing there, fluttering your supernatural-like wings. Zhongli felt his world collapse. He leaned down and opened his arms for you. pleading you come his way.

"[Name]what...what happened?" "Look, Papa! I'm a pretty birdy like from those stories you tell me at nighty-night time! Am I so pretty?" You look as beautiful as an Adeptus, he knew that. But Zhongli knew there were illuminated beasts all over Liyue, some that were Adepti and some that weren't. He knew some could reproduce and wanted to have children, I mean look at Yanfei. But Zhongli felt the slow creep of anxiety and fear enter his soul. Your feather, the glow of your wings, your full appearance, and your aura screamed an Illuminated beast. But how? Zhongli slowly sat down on his knees and asked you a few questions.

"Yes, my sweet darling [name] you are a very pretty bird. Very, beautiful indeed. But how did you turn into this bird? Can you turn back for Papa? Show Papa please how you did it?" You nodded and slowly shifted through a small glow of light back into your regular body, albeit a little naked but the details didn't matter. You at least had underwear on, but Zhongli look mortified. You felt like you did something wrong, was your birdy making Papa sad? You reach out to touch Zhongli and ask if you made your Papa upset.

"Papa? Papa, are you mad? Do I have to go to time out again? Did I do something wrong Papa?" Zhongli was panicking in his mind but hearing you on the brink of tears, fearing you made him mad and were scared he was angry with you for your little(huge) discovery. Zhongli curled you in his arms and held you tightly. "No, no Papa isn't mad, Papa would never be angry at you for telling me anything. Papa is just a little worried, only a little bit. Papa just wants to make sure you're safe and okay [Name] okay?" He kissed your forehead and cradled you similar to how you were a few years back when he found you in Qingce.

Zhongli pulled off his long suit jacket and curled it around you, gloved hands pinching your cheeks and tickling you sweetly. That's right, he didn't want you to feel scared about your new discovery. But Zhongli also knew that he needed answers. He knew you were an illuminated beast for sure, but he needed to know if you were related to any of the current or past Adepti of Liyue. Given you are a swan, a bird he could narrow down the lists of names he knew and their contracts to him as Rex Lapis. However, a swan is more specific than a crane. Zhongli walked deeper into the house and pulled out one of your sets of pajamas and helped you change clothes, he hung up his suit jacket on the coat jack near the door. "Come on [Name], Papa wants you to see someone he knows, maybe we can play some games too." You smiled and practically jumped in his arms as he opened them to you. Zhongli laughed and picked you up and held you up in the air with a small laugh. He wanted you to smile so he could too. Walking out of the house, and closing the front door, you two set off to Jueyun Karst. The home and meeting place of most of the Adepti. Zhongli remembered the last times he was here, but since he became more human he hasn't stepped foot here, now that he had you, he didn't dare to.

Humming along with you and getting taxi runners from Liyue harbor to the mountains in Minlin was a bit pricey but it was better than walking. Once you made it to the top, even see the statue of Rex Lapis, which you said looked just as cool as Zhongli did. Which made him smile. "Remember [Name], what do we do when see we an Adeptus?" He asked while crouching to fix your pajama's little footsies. You repeated back what he always told you, "We are respectful because they protect us day and night all over Liyue." You nodded as you recited his words. He was glad you remembered. He picked you up again, you were barely 6 now. He knew children can grow faster or slower than the usual rate. However, you were still fairly small, even in the swan form you were a little smaller than average. Maybe it was due to your possible extensive lifetime so it takes longer for you to age and grow, Zhongli has seen it before.

Entering Jueyun Karst, Zhongli knew about 3 different Adepti who had eyes on him already. Once you saw little ducks in the pond at the top of the mountain you quickly crawled out of your Papa's arms to play and see them. You ran over to the pond, Zhongli reminded you about your feet and getting dirty, but you stepped right into the muddy water near the calm pond. There goes those sets of pajamas if he can't get the stains out. He sighed and noticed the sun was setting down, Zhongli had more things to worry about. "One must question how the fallen and deceased archon, Rex Lapis is standing before one? Or is it the ghost that brought that child here?" Flipping around Zhongli saw Cloud retainer at the other side of the pond. Behind her or more so above her, was a Yakasha. "Cloud Retainer..." It had been so long, but a small splash cut off his thinking as Zhongli cut his eyes towards you to see you giggling with Ganyu and playing with another rubber ducky you managed to get from her. He smiled as Ganyu was distracting you from whatever the adults were doing. He mentally thanked her and Cloud Retainer for doing such. The Adeptus gestured to the seating near the pond.

Zhongli took a seat, he kept his eyes on you and Ganyu, Xiao the Yakasha sat beside you too, he looked so stiff but Ganyu encouraged you to hand him a rubber ducky too. A sign of friendship. You happily giggled as he played too. Zhongli looked back at Cloud Retainer. She looked pissed. "Well,-" "I know what you are going to say, to put it simply. No, I'm not going to rejoin Liyue and come back as the Geo archon. No, I didn't come here to be rude or to give off such an impression. No, I didn't come here to speak about the war or anything. I did what I did for Liyue and for the people of my nation to move forward independently. The contracts I made are still in order with everyone, I just wanted a change." He stated he kind of sounded deflated a little. Cloud Retainer stayed quiet for a few moments before speaking slowly."One was going to ask who was that child of." Zhongli looked flabbergasted. Was she really not going to ask about the whole...Rex Lapis is here before me and just died before the Liyue public thing? Before he could answer about it, Cloud Retainer beat him to it.

"You're not here to discuss the topic of becoming the Liyue archon again, one can see that. But rather you came all this way for something to do with that small child one may presume. So what may it be? Zhongli readjusted his posture and let out a breath he had been holding since he had left the house. Soon his words came out like word vomit. About how he felt becoming a parent, the fears that now his child could be immortal and possibly related to a late Adeptus, the feeling that he would have to explain that one day the friends they know won't always be there with them anymore, or that he their Papa too knows the pain because of who he is or what he was and the things they will have to embrace now that they can live a long life. All of it spilled out, and at that moment, Zhongli realized something too. He really needed someone to talk to. He had been raising you practically alone and didn't have anyone to really talk to about raising you. Zhongli was used to being alone at times but didn't really know about being alone always with a child. Cloud Retainer sighed and shook her head, looking towards you too.

"Even if the small child is one of us, they at least have a family to share the burden on, rather than be alone and scared within the human world. They can share and build a family within you. You, Lord Morax-" "Zhongli, Zhongli for myself as a human." "Zhongli...at least your child had you, so you can share the burden and memories and help them adjust. One doesn't know whom they could be related to, but one can try and find out. Mountain Carver and Cloud Shaper may help as well." Zhongli smiled as he relaxed his posture. It was so refreshing, he looked back at you and you waved as you and Ganyu along with Xiao had a rubber ducky race. He guessed you were winning.

The Yakasha and the other Adepti glanced at Zhongli. The questions they bore could wait, his eyes were solely focused on his child. You. He knew he would have to give some proper answers before doing his research on the type of illuminated beast family you come from. When in this state, Kirara's movement speed, climbing speed, and jumping power are all increased, and her Stamina Consumption from climbing is increased. She will deal Dendro DMG to opponents she crashes into.

◆ Elemental Burst "Secret Art: Surprise Dispatch"

◆ Kirara uses the Special Delivery Package on opponents, dealing AoE Dendro DMG. After the Special Delivery Package explodes, it will split up into many Cat Grass Cardamoms that will explode either upon contact with opponents or after a period of time, dealing Dendro DMG.

2. The Forge Realm's Temper

When the "The Forge Realm's Temper" event is open, you can select stages to challenge.

In each stage, you can configure the difficulty of different parameters. Adjustable parameters include: stage difficulty, the health of opponents, and the number of rounds to complete the challenge within.

Each set of parameters has corresponding points that will be obtained for completing the challenge.

After completing the challenge, points will be obtained based on the difficulty selected for each parameter. The best score obtained for each stage will be recorded, and will allow you to claim rewards that correspond to certain scores.

3. Arena of Champions

◇ Unlock Criteria: Unlocks when Player Level reaches 4

The Arena of Champions will open on the 1st and the 16th of each month. Challenge records from previous seasons will be cleared at the start of each new season.

Players will be matched with opponents of appropriate skill at the start of each challenge.

Obtain 5 victories to complete an Arena of Champions challenge attempt. 3 defeats will result in a failed challenge attempt.

If your challenge is successful, the Character Cards in the deck used will be recorded in the Character Honors record for that season.

Up to 9 records can be saved for the Arena of Champions. After 9 records have been saved, saving a new record will delete a previous saved record, beginning with the oldest.

Up to 10 records can be saved for challenge decks. After 10 records have been saved, saving a new record will delete an old record, beginning with the deck record with the fewest victories or the oldest record.

Updated the monster lineup on Floor 12 of the Spiral Abyss.

Starting from the first time that the Lunar Phase refreshes after updating to Version 3.7, the three Lunar Phases will be as follows:

Phase I:

Drumming Moon

After the character's Normal Attack hits an opponent, this opponent will be afflicted with a Sign of Snaring. After 3s, the Sign will be removed, dealing True DMG to this opponent. After a character's Normal Attack hits an opponent with a Sign of Snaring, the DMG dealt by the Sign's removal will be increased. This DMG can be increased for no more than 9 times.

Phase II:

Potent Moon

After the active character's Normal Attacks hit opponents, the DMG dealt by this character will increase by 12% for 2s. This effect can stack up to 5 times. Each stack's duration is counted independently. This effect can be triggered once every 0.05s. This effect will be canceled when the character leaves the field.

Phase III:

Willowy Moon

After the character's Normal Attack hits an opponent, the Physical or Elemental RES of this opponent will decrease by 6% for 2s, matching the Attribute of that attack. This can stack up to 6 times. RES decreases of different types can co-exist, and their stacks and timers will be independent of each other.

● Genius Invokation TCG

Optimizes the icons generated by Normal Attack "Frostflake Arrow" of Character Card "Ganyu" and Combat Status "Sparks 'n' Splash" of Character Card "Klee."

Optimizes the defeat menu presentation in Genius Invokation TCG.

Optimizes certain description texts and punctuation in Genius Invokation TCG.

Changes the status name "Normal State" of the card "Winged Dendroshroom" to "Aerial Superiority" in Genius Invokation TCG challenge.

Optimizes the effects described of Combat Status "Inspiration Field" for the Character Card "Bennett" in Genius Invokation TCG: After Bennett equips "Grand Expectation," the DMG increase requirements of "Inspiration Field" will be changed from "If this character has at least 7 HP" to being always active. The description of the "Inspiration Field" created by Bennett with "Grand Expectation" equipped is different from one created by Bennett with "Grand Expectation" unequipped.

Adjusts the effects of the Talent Card "Undivided Heart" used by Character Card "Ganyu" in Genius Invokation TCG: Ganyu will no longer get the +1 Cryo DMG effect after equipping this card.

Adjusts the number of charges required and DMG dealt by the Elemental Burst of Character Card "Ganyu" in Genius Invokation TCG: The number of charges has been increased from 2 to 3 and the Cryo DMG dealt has been increased from 1 to 2. The other effects of this Character Card remain unchanged.

Adjusts Elemental Skill Hydro DMG dealt by the Character Card "Fatui Mirror Maiden" in Genius Invokation TCG: "Deals 3 Hydro DMG..." is now adjusted to "Deals 2 Hydro DMG...".

Adjusts the effect and description for Summon "Ushi" summoned by the Character Card "Arataki Itto": "When your active character receives DMG, Arataki Itto gains Superlative Superstrength" is now "When your character takes DMG, Arataki Itto gains Superlative Superstrength."

Adjusts Event Card "Send Off" in Genius Invokation TCG: "Choose one Summon on the opposing side and destroy it" is now "Choose one Summon on the opposing side and cause it to lose usages by 2."

Adjusts the effect of the Equipment Card "Lithic Spear" in Genius Invokation TCG: Now even defeated characters will be included in the calculations.

When your Character Cards include "Maguu Kenki," all non-Cryo Elemental Dice will be used first for Elemental Tuning and playing your hand in Genius Invokation TCG.

Adds rules and descriptions relating to concepts such as "Defeated," "Food," "Calculation Order," "Charged Attack," and "Plunging Attack" for Genius Invokation TCG.

Adjusts the description detailing "Charged Attack" in Genius Invokation TCG. After the update, the description is as follows: Before your Action Phase, should the total number of your Elemental Dice be even, your Normal Attack will be considered a Charged Attack.

Adjusts the "Other Rules" tab in Genius Invokation TCG Rules into the "Other Rules" and "Special Entry" tabs.

Invitation Duels will now take place in the all new Invitation Duel Room for Genius Invokation TCG.

Optimizes the sound effects for character footsteps when they walk across different surfaces.

Optimizes the sound performance of certain quest NPCs.

Fixes an issue in Genius Invokation TCG whereby when Keqing is Frozen and a Lightning Stiletto is used to switch the active character to Keqing, her skill could be abnormally used.

Fixed an issue in Genius Invokation TCG in which equipping the Talent Card "Grand Expectation" to "Bennett" would result in bonus damage being erroneously applied to his Elemental Burst if his own Inspiration Field was already active and Bennett's HP was less than 7.

Fixes an issue under certain circumstances whereby when challenging the boss Shouki no Kami, the Prodigal, the Neo Akasha Terminal is rendered unable to attack as normal.

Fixes an issue whereby under certain circumstances, there was a chance that the boss "Iniquitous Baptist" would abnormally enter a paralyzed state when only a single Elemental Shield had been broken.

Fixes an issue of erroneous display when defeating the boss "Guardian of Apep's Oasis" in Co-Op Mode.

Fixes an issue whereby the enemy "Ruin Drake's" head might abnormally change directions when Ruin Drake is in a Frozen state.

Fixes an issue with certain Archon Quests whereby there were issues with abnormal color display of elements on clothing for NPC Aether and NPC Lumine.

Fixes an issue whereby the Stormeye created by Venti's Elemental Burst can abnormally be destroyed by the boss Guardian of Apep's Oasis's aftershocks of the apocalypse attack.

Fixes an issue under certain circumstances whereby there is a small chance that after "Eons Adrift" Wanderer (Anemo) uses his Elemental Skill, he will abnormally contact other Elements or be unable to properly contact Hydro.

Fixes an issue whereby when "Verdant Strider" Tighnari (Dendro) uses his Elemental Burst, the in-game camera can have a small chance of working abnormally when playing on PlayStation®.

Fixes an issue whereby when "Coordinates of Clear Frost" Mika (Cryo) performs his Charged Attack, should the attack be canceled with a sprint, the special effect for a hit being made will be triggered.

Well on the subject of Itto, I headcanon him being 6'6 ft tall... Why??? Because it makes his voiceline about everybody shorter than him being a child really funny. 🤣 Also because he beeg and you can't convince me otherwise SDLFJSDLJGSLDGSD OOOOH Okay this one is very much a headcanon i have for pure self indulgence: So my two genshin blorbos of main focus are Zhongli and Diluc right? I like to headcanon that, at some point after Diluc was nearly killed by the harbingers, he collapsed somewhere near Liyue harbor (His injuries probably weren't directly related to the Harbinger ones, tho it depends on the amount of time it's taken between That incident and him being in Liyue, I think I came up with this idea LONG before i really understood a lot of what Diluc actually did away from home xD) he's found and carried to Liyue, where he's tended to, probably by Baizhu cause I love Baizhu, and recovers. Its here he's visited by Zhongli. Zhongli knew Crepus. Not super well! They weren't besties or nothin, but Crepus would be in Liyue, and Zhongli would be in Liyue, both of them having some level of prestige, Zhongli through his job and Crepus through his Titles, ended up meeting. They would talk and of course that means Zhongli heard about Diluc. Beyond that even, Zhongli was probably vaguely aware of Diluc's existence just from the fact that Crepus is a Ragnvindr, which means gossip/news on his family spreads potentially across the globe. (And maybe Zhongli checked in once in a while out of honor to a dear friend he hadn't seen in five hundred years...) ANYWAYS. Zhongli introduces himself and mentions he knew Crepus. A grieving Diluc probably asks for more information without really knowing if he wants more info or not. Its through this that Zhongli learns of Crepus's passing, and Diluc being less well put together from his injuries, ends up confessing to having hurt Kaeya. He despairs of ever being able to make up for it, to which Zhongli is surprisingly quiet and attentive before finally speaking up: "...Life is short, like the flower, it blooms for a season, blossoms in all its color and beauty, and then it shrivels away on the winds, nothing left of it but the Sweetness of memory." He pauses. "If you care about your brother, than return to him, confess your wrong doings, and don't let the burden of you mistakes carry until such a time as the ability to do something about them is force-ably taken away from your hands." The mans smile is soft, but sad. Not in a pitying way, and not in a way that is even directed at Diluc, if anything, he seems thousands of miles away. "There are fewer burdens, and fewer regrets, that can weigh heavier." This of course creates a fun dynamic to play around with if Lumine or other events drag Diluc to Liyue later >:D As for AU's I can give you two I've dwelled on!: Number one is an Inazuma rewrite, but I bring in a party of my chosing. I started this one before I played the game, so I didn't exaclty understand what went down in the INazuma plot, but Man I was having fun so xD THe party of choice in this case was Zhongli, Diluc, Thoma, and of course Lumine. I had fun with this idea because it allowed Zhongli and Diluc to function in the plot, and Thoma would be WAAAAY more involved as well. I didn't iron out Loads of details, but I wanted there to be a big confrontation between Lumine and Zhongli based off the fact that Azhdaha's quest happened before Inazuma, and before that was uh. THe reveal of Khaenri'ah. Needless to say Lumine's not exactly feeling the greatest about Zhongli. But she considers him a friend, or at least wants too. Zhongli is dealing with the sting of a pre-inazuma plot confrontation from Lumine, where she confessed that she'd have a hard time trusting him if he kept keeping secrets and he couldn't explain himself.

The two of them were planned to get into a huge fight that ALMOST gets physical. But Diluc stops them (Something something he knows making the mistake of attacking someone you love out of fear and broken trust 🙃) This ends up splitting the party for a while, Diluc going off with Zhongli, and Thoma staying with Lumine. Ultimately I wanted this to end with Zhongli getting to have a bit Showdown with Raiden Shogun, essentially kinda getting to brute force his way into her grief. I always loved the idea of the woman who can't move on from grief talking with the man who has suffered so much grief but still lives, this would kinda allow that, it would also allow for Zhongli to be a little bit of a father figure to Ei in her frustrations and grief. Also it would be hilarious if Inazuma kinda knew Rex Lapis was alive... but he kinda saved all their butts, so nobody's going to out him xD This would essentially spiral into a lot of canon divergence plots and development for the cast of characters that's just, not in canon? But man I still think it'd be so fun :D Also Diluc and Ei eventually become friends through this adsflJSFLSJDLGJSLDGJSDGSDG. I think they could help each other :) The SECOND AU is one where, Diluc, on his journey, ends up getting stuck in Inazuma before he can get home. So diluc is visionless, Has the Delusion, and is not in good health. Itto ends up finding him passed out on a beach, drags him back to Granny Oni's, and his gang nurse him back to health all while assuming Diluc was a victim of the Vision hunt decree (i think the vision hunt decree is pretty recent in canon?? This would be an AU where the timeline got bumped up, probably Raiden starts off a lot slower with the vision hunts, only taking a few of them once in a great while to further "eternity" Until she spirals bad enough to start taking them all.... IDK its rough but workable maybe xD) THis AU is mostly for letting Itto bully Diluc into loving himself among other things xD and the angst of it taking even longer for Diluc and Kaeya to reunite...... WHich i would defo make them reunite when Lumine comes over to finally end the Vision hunt decree soooooooooo >:3 Diluc ends up getting adopted by the Arataki gang, by EVERY member, and he's not happy about it (He is, he's just a freaking tsundere)

Hiding things from a man with a wide net cast to collect information was certainly not an easy thing, but it surely was not impossible for a stubborn, ancient, ex-archon to do when he was determined to. Diluc's birthday was something he had been looking forward to for some time, and though he had been made aware it was not necessarily a cheerful occasion for the young redhead, Zhongli couldn't sit by and do nothing- and he certainly couldn't allow his beloved to be alone if he felt inclined to hide away and wait it out.

It was early in the morning that he'd arrived at Dawn Winery before the sun had even risen as he'd detailed in secret notes he'd exchanged with the head house staff he's gotten to know during his visits. They were all quite enthusiastic to help surprise their young master, and that worked to his advantage with being offered all of the help he could've ever wanted to be ready for the day. However, he chose to be left to his own devices in the kitchen for now to prepare the ingredients he'd slyly had delivered beforehand. It was a long, laborious process- longer only because Zhongli was so particular in how he wished to prepare his beloved's first meal- but one he was more than happy to do on this very special day.

When all was prepared and Diluc was supposedly going to be down in a moment, Zhongli himself also set the dining table with a modest serving of noodles steaming welcomingly at the table's head where he patiently stood waiting to greet the man he'd so come to adore.

Fingertips skim lightly across a bare shoulder, a delicately intimate touch that he hopes will go some way to soothing the troubled thoughts inside his lover's head. A hand the colour of cor lapis lifts to frame a handsome face, a thumb gently smoothing over his cheek. "You have been taught, through experience, that everything good turns eventually to ash. You are unable to cling to the joys in life because you believe heartbreak is the only outcome. Life has hardened your heart, and you practice pessimism to protect yourself from the pain of disappointment."

Lips curve slowly, gently, into a smile; amber eyes soften with a great well of affection. He had once sworn never again, but here he was, powerless against the strength of his capacity to feel. "I hope I can be the one to teach you that not everything that burns is lost forever. Does a sapling not sprout again once the wildfire has passed through?"

Lips press softly to Diluc's forehead; to the bridge of his nose. "You are a wildfire, bǎo bèi, and I the granite that can withstand it. You can burn and burn, reduce all around us to ash, and I will remain."

Hello, theres something i’ve wanted to ask your opinion on for a while now if it’s ok with you. Lately, I’ve been hearing rumors that Guizhong might become playable in the far future from reincarnation or revival. I’m not sure if these leaks are to be trusted, but it begs an interesting question for me: if Guizhong were to be brought back from reincarnation or otherwise, would the impact of her death still carry it’s weight? Or would it be undermined because “oh its no problem she can just be brought back from the dead lol”? Could it be done well at all if handled correctly? This is something thats been on my mind for a while since i started seeing these leaks. I wanted to ask you because you seem to be the right person to discuss this with.

I already talked about the way we can meet all dead characters in the main story, which i think would be enough to get them released as playable, without undermining their deaths

but even if hoyo doesn't get my genius and objectively correct vision, i still think she can be brought back in different ways without it feeling cheap. bc like to be fair to hoyo, they did their setup. i've wrote extensively about how guizhong haunts liyue, both map and story. its not like she just died and they're immediately bringing her back, she was gone for hundreds if not thousands years, it affects both the country and entire adepti polycule. zhongli is clearly still in the mourning, ping went into old woman exile, etc. her return will not erase thousands years of acute grief bc we as players also had time to play the game with guizhong-shaped wound in liuye for literal years, so its already not possible to be "no problem lol".

more problematic is which way they'll do it, bc if its smth repeatable, then like yeah, its a problem bc then what, everyone can be just brought back? that would be garbage.

but if its v unique and specific for guizhong, smth that won't work for anyone else, it can work fine. like we still have several chekhov guns in liuye - zhongli has her puzzle, memory of dust, which supposedly has all her knowledge, and we know gods can put their conscience into objects, like raiden literally lives in her sword rn. so like, it could be guizhong's personality matrix. then there is zhongli's deal with tsaritsa, like what did he sell his literal godhood for?

so overall i think hoyo can pull it off gracefully enough if they pull their A game writing and not like, inazuma fallout
