I say for the important parts shes fused with an immortal jellyfish, my favorite jelly which im extreme jelly of 😼😼😼😼, and i would say that its possible that she could live forever IN THEORY with the dna of that jelly but that would have to be tested lmaooo.

I believe because shes also able bodied (mostly) she would be given similar jobs as Sebastian so shes not depressed, rotting, or lashing out. Not sure if they'd work together but she's observant and being a psychologist, she def psychoanalyzing the hell outta everybody in the facility out of boredom. She seems happy but ofc its a coping mech to make the best out of the absolute horrors around her, still emotional unstable and freaks tf out frequently. Once Sebastian frees everybody, she's free to roam and sees what Sebastian is doing. She asks to assist him in his goal but she only plays a part once Seb handles BIDNESS on land during lockdown. Post lockdown she scavenges for data and whatever here and there but shes mostly left alone or out of most of his operation, yk,,,working with Mr Lopee and all. She really tries to get close with Sebastian (despite emphasizing hes a married man, YEAH SURE BUDDY YOU'RE LIKE 32, WHATEVER MAKES U FEEL BETTER💀) and being the drama fiend i am, i think having a "moment of weakness" would lead to their complex semi romantic possibly toxic dynamic.

Fight: And as i did my research its highly debatable if Sebastian is telling pAInter the truth about getting them both out. Phanny would believe this without question cuz if he can make a plan and has all these skills and resources, he should be able to take everyone (this also includes other peoples inserts and ocs who are experiments because it makes the setting more lively and interesting). I even thought of a cool ass line my homie thought was cold asf for argument dialogue between Phanny and Seb about taking everyone back up to the surface.

Just to summarize: Phanny mentions how noble Seb is after making progress with his escape plan, assuming that he'll take at least as many people as possible including Phanny. Sebastian at this point is already trying to push her away post weakness moment and he know damn well he's just doing this for himself and never accounted to leave w/ a whole damn facility of sentient experiments. He just wanna see his mom again and hes already working in private with Mr Lopee i mean this is a one man escape plan. This ofc shatters Phanny cuz from what hes saying, nobody and he mean NOBODY is getting out of here with him. Hes not a savior and hes not responsible for people he dont even know or fuck with like tf?? And Phannys like OKAY? Nobody's asking you to be JESUS but can you at least be Moses?? Ofc it ends in a big brawl, think Mark getting his shit rocked by his own dad (Omniman from invincible) and they just have this heartbreaking dialogue and they split ways.

Post fight + breakdown: After this, Phanny is basically losing it. I even have a vision for this if it was actually in game and she was an actual character with weight to the gameplay. Like crying and wailing in the vents and pipes, shit breaking, Phanny not being seen for a majority of the game until shes physically stopping u from going through doors and rushing the player. Not to kill them, she loves the expendables and protects them but if she really has to if it means Sebastian can get out/she gets to see another day then...

Plus i drew what that would look like in my last post where shes just standing in the dark in the corner blocking the door. Even if shes not blocking the door she's obviously going through something and can't be interacted with, she just follows the player with her eyes and breathes heavily. If its not that then shes crying by the the water and interacting with her gets the player a DEVIOUS side eye or no response.

Pre-breakdown + if she were actually in the game: I can't really explain why she would help the expendables WITHOUT knowing removing the crystal will indirectly end their lives, i actually havent evaluated that yet but shes friendly to expendables, takes free trade in exchange for shiny objects, and can be seen hanging out with or talking to Sebastian, or passing by in the water/halls. She's capable of killing the player entirely by accident due to her tentacles hanging from the ceiling which she chills in and dying to her makes her scream or apologize (before Sebastian says something snarky) since shes strictly against killing and never willing.

Announcing ur presence helps her know shes in the way. Typical interactive npc shenanigans. Maybe even saving expendables from certain attacks but these are rare interactions in the game. She's overall friendly and if she were real, she'd prolly be a fandom fave (ofc not on Sebastian's level, LETS BE HUMBLE YALL😭) because shes so polite and her tragedy comes near the end where the player isnt even aware of how she became hostile in just a few hours of the run. Her story would hardly happen in game and itd be one of those things a creator would have to mention outside of their game for fans to know abt yk?

Its typical for creators to just drop the craziest lore ever about a character but they're purposefully vague or literally like oh yeah time constraints so we scrapped it lol.

The overall quality of the material Gatwa gets remains to be seen, but you have to actually be in the room to get your due. So while I agree a critical eye is, as always, recommended, what's your point here? That it would be better if they didn't bother casting a black man (or previously, a woman) at all in the role?

In that case I would have to disagree, especially where it comes to Doctor Who. Consider the treatment of Mickey Smith and Martha Jones (who debuted in 2005 and 2007 respectively), which at times was pretty racist, but not to the point where I would say I wish they hadn't been cast. In fact the more racially diverse characters they cast, the more my retrospective of those characters stands to improve because good representation is achieved when varied representation is achieved.

Doctor Who, like most of the media landscape, has a mostly white cast but it does have a history of hiring more diverse talent, so Gatwa's casting strikes me as something that was built towards, albeit with some missteps, it doesn't seem sudden to me at all. Russell T. Davies was openly gay when he came on in 2005, back when kids were still using "gay" as a synonym for stupid and we called straight men who were well groomed "metrosexual". All three major companions during his run were women and there's enough variance in the side companions and one-off characters that I think it's fair to say there was an interest in a talent pool that was was more than just young, hot and white. Since then there's been Bill, Yaz, Ryan, 13, Missy ... additional arguments to be made for Sarah Jane, River Song/Melody Pond and even Donna. Like, we didn't just "arrive" at the fifteenth doctor, this has been a gradual build that's been happening over the course of 20 years - idc about the BBC people who worked on the show have been pushing alongside fans for this moment.

I don't love that there's this hierarchy of identities and we have to wait for representation to trickle down and subsist on scraps until we get there but that is pretty much how broad social change happens.

Finally... you do you, but a hypothetical instance of racism somewhere down the line isn't a barrier to me enjoying a solid casting choice.

Symbiote Black Cat will always be the best version of Black Cat we've ever gotten. This iteration of Black Cat is the peak of Felicia Hardy as a character imo. Insomniac's version of Black Cat is definitely the worst version of Felicia's character. All the best aspects that make Black Cat interesting are never used to their fullest potential. Her lying to Peter about having a kid & randomly outta knowhere being bi with a girlfriend in Paris (lmaooo you can't make up this bad fanfic trash omfg help) stuff like this really made me hate this version of the character.

Meanwhile, Web of Shadows manages to make Felicia Hardy feel like she's ripped right outta a comic book. Her relationship with Spider-Man, while never explored, unfortunately. Is ripe with interesting & fun possibilities for their potential future together. They have a history, and I really wish we knew more about it.

The whole storyline with Black Cat wanting Spider-Man back in her life as a permanent partner in love & crime is the most natural progression for her character but it adds SOOOOOOOO much to her character imo.

The first thing we learn about this Black Cat is that she was in a relationship with Spider-Man before & wants him to be with her again. She's willing to go to great lengths to make him see her in a new light & consider being with her again.

Her plan to take down Kingpin as a sign of her resolve to be good & more importantly to her, get back with Peter is such a simple but extremely effective way of showing off this version of Black Cat.

Web of Shadows will always be my all-time favorite Spider-Man game. Because their treatment of every character from Black Widow to Black Cat is 10/10 perfection. They nailed it. Especially the voice acting for Black Cat is absolutely perfect.

today was heckas I woke up from the most fucked nightmare, thought I was getting sick/rundown(I might be?) or maybe my eyes just hurt bc poor sleep quality who knows, but had a really slow morning compared to yesterday (I seem to only have one fully productive day every 4-6months fr), so I just listened to podcasts in bed and didn’t feel well (kept my expectations low) then didn’t get outta bed til like 3pm BUT then proceeded to go for a walk in the rain (I am determined to make myself not despise winter for the first year ever) which slayed so hard (while listening to my audiobook ofc), ate all my meals and then some, drank 2L water(as I set out to do in my post last night), did some laundry, prepared more meal prep for next sem and took a shower(from the floor must add lol)… it is true I am healing myself through the power of delulu lmao jk I feel physically fkd but at least mentally I feel not so bad as a result yipee I just be doing one thing at a time and it be working out in a way :,) extra grateful for the hot shower I just had and the yummmy foooods I consumed I had protein icecream I pre-made for brekky (it’s not rlly icecream but it tastes like it) then I had sausage and egg muffin/sandwich thing I also pre-made and then I had choc up&go after walk (aussies will know) and sweet and sour chicken and rice for din I also pre-made and also I randomly melted frozen berries and super duper dark choc earlier today bc I was bored and it was… interesting :,) also grateful bc was only in pain a few times today (a lot less than lately) and feel slightly less exhausted than yesterday (probs cos I didn’t get out of bed til afternoon) - anyways I didn’t take my camera on my walk bc it was raining and as y’all know I be hiring it and didn’t pay for extra insurance so like yeah nah - so here’s a random pic below from my phone on my walk !! and also my goals for tomorrow are to drink 2L+ again and to cook another meal and I’ll leave it at that bc idk how Im gonna wake up feeling and I don’t wanna feel overwhelmed and like a failure bc then I’ll spiral lmaooo - hope ur day is going fab !!!!

Let it Be (1970)

Oh god, here we go. This album [and the Docu-film of the same name] is one big magical mess, with multiple different versions, the "main" one being coated in the musical version of Glitter Glue by a strange disgusting weirdo, so I guess I gotta check my expectations. This album and the larger ideas for the project were heavily affected by the rampant discord in the group due to many factors, too complex and quite frankly depressing to get into here. These reasons, and the songs themselves being another mixed bag, are why I'm adamant to get it outta the way before the Actual Last Album, the release date can suck it up.

The concept behind this, of the four in their own little photos, is fine (if unintentionally symbolism for the division among 'em...) but oh my god, the execution here sucks. John looks like a wet dog, Paul is getting blocked by his mic, something else is in front of Ringo and George.... well George seems to be having a funky good time! But why the hell were these snapshots chosen over the thousands of other photoshoots, or even nicer individual frames from the Documentary? Insane but in a banal, boring way. Worst cover of their whole set of Albums, easy.

SIDE ONE

Two of Us: After an unrelated introduction by John, a more folksy ballad starts up. Describing comfy mundanities between a pair, and intercut with solo Paul sections, mentioning a road that stretches on ahead (foreshadowing?). It's a nice one and so very John and Paul coded its title was used for the RPF movie made by the Fujoshi who was there to watch and film 'em for the Docu.

Dig a Pony: A western style opening leads to a mellow John monologue that seems to be another series of codes with a mostly coherent line having an odd ending, for example the title itself. "Pick a Moondog" might be a reference to the prototype early Group Name, back in the 50's... Overall though this feels like hearing an easy listening song but it's in a language you only know some vocab of. There's hard to hear talking both before and after the track, which I don't object to (Studio chatter can be very charming and/or insightful!) but can't pick out well.

Across the Universe: This is absolutely one of the strongest songs on the album and some beautiful lyric weaving of John's.... so how come it sounds like I'm hearing it through a wall? While some quiet orchestra music is also playing? A song this thoughtful deserves crisp, clean audio!! The metaphors and evocative imagery are complemented with some spiffy guitar work and I easily see why it's a Favourite but the 2021 remix (while still having the chorus overlay ¬¬;; ) is the better option for this one.

I Me Mine: George's vagueblogging about John and Paul and their hyperfocus on each other, coupled with the expense of their true feelings and also other people in general? It sure could be! A nice waltz and then rocking section that calms back down. There's also some hard hitting drums here, so I'm digging it B3

Dig It: I swear I didn't plan my previous words to lead into this lmaooo - Anyway! At less than 1 minute this is an odd one. Seems to be more a warm up exersise and/or larking around rather than a song. I don't really care for this tbh

Let it Be: We're finally at the title track! Another song Paul got from a Dream, though not as powerful and interesting lyric-wise as Yesterday. Still, the piano makes a lovely start, and I really like how the other instruments come on in sequence spaced out along the song. The High Hat(?) and later the blazing guitar work, ooooh that's some good stuff!!

Maggie Mae: For the first time in ages, a cover! Seems this one just like, Existed in Liverpool for many years, though I've only heard the Beatles' take of the whole song. That is, 40 seconds of a jaunty tune. It's fine and has some good R trilling, but kind of just ends. However I like how it has all the lads lean into their Scouse Roots so I rate it higher for that <3

SIDE TWO

I've Got a Feeling: Paul and John do their wombo combo thing. I can't understand some of Paul's yelling but overall I like it! But not love. Cheeky moments and surging energy helps make it a funky experience. Another moment where there's talking after the song itself wraps... are these takes from the Rooftop Concert? o3o;;

One After 909: I think this counts as Rockabilly. Again I like it but I'm not wild, though that may be a genre thing as the wordplay is still clever and fun. Splendid instruments keep a great energy to go with the lyrics about rushing here and there. And then a smidge of Danny Boy? .....ok.......

The Long and Winding Road: Hello, operator? I'd like to report a crime! This song has been absolutely butchered!!

One of Paul's most raw, emotional, very thinly veiled messages to John. But under Spector's editing, absurdly overdone. Flippin' heavenly choirs getting slapped on top. Stupid soaring instruments that overinflate the whole experience. It pisses me off that this is the "main" version, making it on compilations like #1s and The Blue Album, when Paul's redone it himself in the Naked edition and it's actually clean and lovely.

Still, one of the strongest on the album if you can get past the orchestral bullshit. Its beautiful if sombre words make the Naked version one of my favourites of Paul's of all time, and this way I can actually hear the band's subdued instrumentation and the range of emotion in Paul's voice.

For You Blue: After more murmuring, George's second song of the album kicks in, with an odd Sproing-y tune and I guess bluesy ditty. Even includes George making a spoken word comment in the midst. It's fine but I know George can do better, like the aforementioned I Me Mine.

Get Back: The other title track, if we're thinking about the epically long version of the Documentary. Yet more Chatter opens this one, including a twist on some of the lyrics to come lol. Another US Country kind of flavoured tune, with ambiguous lyrics about being told to ...get back to where they once belonged being easy to misunderstand between being affirmation or shooing (even John suspected that Paul was directing it at Yoko), and also the verse about Loretta being trans as people in the 60's understood it, so it's shaky by today's standards but for the time having someone following their own idea of gender is pretty progressive.

And finally some talking I can hear without replaying it! John's remark about passing the audition, it's pretty famous ;3

CONCLUSION

Best 3: Two Of Us, Across the Universe, The Long and Winding Road (Paul's work)

Blurst 3: Dig It, For You Blue, The Long and Winding Road (With stupid ass Dubbing. Spector out here trying to be Proto-Funimation!)

This album was conceived as an attempt for the band to go back to their roots, with blues and rock and acoustic guitars. Maybe not as far as Hamburg level of raw grit, but still re-finding themselves after their increasing reliance on cutting edge technology and techniques. But it didn't quite work out that way, both seen in the Documentary footage of a group of blokes at a bit of a loss, and in this production with overdubbed orchestral and choirs that muddy the music further. Damn does it ever suck this was the last full album released when the four of 'em were all alive!

With this real world subtext and the general tone of most of the songs, I dub this the Sombre album. Not to say it's completely lacking in va va voom, but it's mostly known for the sad, wistful Road, the Acceptance song, and their final concert on a humble rooftop.
