ai hoshino is a well-known pop sensation in japan, taking the world by storm with not only her performances but also her infectious personality, the love she showers upon her supporters both on and offstage. but that is just the side of herself she shows to the public; in truth, ai hoshino is a chronic liar, unable to feel love at all despite what she constantly claims. at some point when she turns sixteen, she goes on a hiatus from her idol work, claiming to have personal health issues that she needs to sort out. the reality of it all, however, is that ai is pregnant with twins, keeping the truth of the matter out of public eye for fear of scrutiny or worse.

following her mother's arrest on theft charges, ai hoshino becomes orphaned, living in an orphanage for the duration of her mother's jail time. however, due to negligence following the woman's release from prison, ai was forced to continue living life inside the walls of that same children's home. when she turns twelve, ai is scouted by the president of strawberry productions and starts out her career as an idol, soon rising to stardom on a path of falsehood as b-komachi's center.

originally a young entertainer of the city, ai hoshino realized she needed more income if she was going to raise her twins in the harsh concrete jungle that was the city. she's scouted by a fixer office soon after quitting the entertainment industry, and she works hard at her job for the pay. one of the other fixers of said office promises to help get her kids placed in foster care should anything happen to her. one day, however, ai's taking her kids out to play for once when, out of nowhere, she has her first encounter with a distortion — an old fan of hers who had started to go insane after word got out that she quit entertaining. standing her ground to protect her children, she tries to fight back, remembering her training. however, she has no clue what she's up against, so she ends up heavily injured and left to die. the distorted man strangely enough has enough heart left to leave the young twins alone, so he leaves, satisfied. ai clutches her kids tight and tells her she loves them, and that they're going to have a better life than she could ever give them before dying. though her death isn't forever, as Ai wakes up a while later as a bloodfiend. her first instinct and only remaining memories relate to her death and to kill the man who did this to her. and she does!! slowly she regains chunks of her memory, and thus decides to stay away from her children as much as she yearns to see them again. in this state, she knows she could accidentally hurt them. and that's the last thing she wants.

ai hoshino is a young idol who spreads hope through song on belobog, catching the attention of serval landau, who offers to take her into their family once she hears of the girl's tragic past as an orphan in the underworld. gepard becomes a doting older brother upon the young woman, ensuring that even when she has to go on hiatus in order to hide her pregnancy from the public eye, ai is well off and protected. when her twins are around 3 or 4 years old, ai has just announced a tour outside of belobog, reaching out to places such as the xianzhou luofu and even penacony, and a couple of days before she's set to leave, a stranger, later revealed to be one of her fans, shows up at the landau household to confront her, and if it isn't for gepard's swiftness, she likely would have been killed by the other man. after returning from her tour, she lives a peaceful life with her adoptive family and her children.

[ horror ] — carmine desire and a second chance at life.

they say that once you enter the land of the dead, you cannot return to the life you had.  yet one girl was different —   the desires of a mother who died too young were so strong that she managed to make it back to the land of the living out of pure spite. but just because you can self-resurrect does not guarantee that you will be able to come back the same as you once were.  if one were to look too closely at ai hoshino, they would notice that her body doesn’t move quite right, that she feels colder to the touch than she should. the former idol is now a shell of who she used to be, a monster in human skin. her children are none the wiser, but one day, they’re sure to find out the truth. ai is dreading the day they learn, the day they run from her because of what she is.  the day she’ll be all alone again.  shrouded in lies and smiles, she’s luring her former fans to sacrifice themselves for her, and she’ll continue to gorge on the blood of the innocent if it keeps her from perishing again.  they say that if you die twice, you’re gone for good, and your soul may never escape the void.
