I need my love Nikki/infinikki mutuals to know that in china they're making memes of the paper games CEO and also simultaneously of the sovereign of cool style battle sequence (set to joyride by Kesha because idk) and I just watched a video of someone using AI to replace Nikki with him in that sequence. I don't know how to feel about this but it's very funny

Also another favourite Chinese infinikki joke: "your outfit looks like it would get a high score" as a way to dunk on someone who is wearing a haphazard collection of random non-matching bullshit.

I see the angle here. Shigaraki saw Bakugo announcing he was going to win no matter what on TV, and was like 'As a toxic gamer I get it'.

Bakugo is not amused. As much of an obnoxious gremlin as he is, I don't think Bakugo cares to be associated with villains. I remember back in episode 1 or 2 he didn't even want his middle school buddies to smoke cigarettes near him (or something like that).

Not Dabi making Twice untie Bakugo because he knows whoever goes near the kid is going to catch hands, lol.

Says the villain to a teenager they just kidnapped after setting a summer camp on fire. It's hard to take this reasoning seriously.

Is Shigaraki attempting empathy? Didn't know he had it in him. Weirdly proud of him for trying it. I would love to learn more about what the villains lives have been like, because no one ends up this messed up out of nowhere.

...and BOOM! Bakugo may have an aggressive personality, but there was no way he was going to get pulled into villainy that easy.

This episode has some of my favorite Bakugo lines. This is a great one. He had 0 patience for these villains tomfoolery from the get go.

The plan to convince him to switch sides was never going to work, because it misunderstands where Bakugo's unique brand of crazy comes from.

The hero always wins and saves the day. Villains are always losers. It's a simplistic view, but it works as Bakugo's saving grace here. For him, being a hero IS that simple. That is what he learned from watching All might, hero = winning.

Whaaaat? What does it mean? Why is he calling one of his disembodied hands dad? My head is spinning.

Momo and Okarun: Queer AF

As far as we know Momo and Okarun are both cis. To me, they give very bisexual energy.

So does My Adventures With Superman's Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

But what do I mean by that?

And why is that a better and healthier dynamic than whatever cis-het normative culture actually is?

And why is it that when you encounter people who are like Momo and Okarun in real life, most people don't actually like people like them?

As we sometimes see showcased in the show, in various ways (eg Okarun being seen as a loser/weirdo etc)

Momo and her friends are pretty and high enough in social status to not be picked on. But they all have somewhat -- for lack of a better term -- unfeminine and unbecoming personalities.

Yet both of these characters and their dynamics are adored. As are Clark's and Lois' in MAWS.

Why?

Then it dawned on me when I was thinking about my own experience being a trans man.

The difference in perspective when we see Okarun through Momo's eyes and vice versa:

They're humanized. Their "flaws" aren't flaws, when seen through the eyes of the other. They're something to be adored.

Every vulnerability.

Every emotional outburst or withdrawal.

It draws them to each other.

And it's these traits -- ones which are normally disliked in men and women but especially in certain ways -- which we also adore about them.

For some reason people find it easier to love these characteristics in fictional beings than in actual humans.

Maybe because perspective and distance makes the heart grow fonder and the eyes more clear.

Maybe because we all enjoy Dan Da Dan and the aspects of reality and people it reveals, so we can be honest.

Or maybe, just maybe, people are finally starting to see what the answer always has been and always will be:

Communication, compassion, and willingness to grow.
