( in case you haven’t noticed yet, vivian’s favorite pokemon is basically vivillon, lmfao! and yes, i know their names are similar to each other BUT I SWEAR IT’S SIMPLY JUST A COINCIDENCE.

if she could, though, she’ll own all the blue butterfly pokemon... not for the sole sake of having a practical balanced team, mind you, but for aesthetic reasons. ALSO, there was no option to input various different ones so i have to admit i cheated a little by editing those last three icons to include polar! vivillon, tundra! vivillon, and marine! vivillon. ngl, after learning she couldn’t have more than one, i was a bit annoyed. LIKE, C’MON, you cowards!! why can’t you let vivi live out her butterfly dream??

either way, i’m really tempted to make her have this team by natural default and adjust her pokemon verse, so that her trainer class is ‘Collector’. i mean, there was never a female equivalent trainer sprite, so i get people seeing Collector trainers as these stereotypical fat boys wearing glasses, but still, it’s extremely fitting for her to be one imo. )

⇢ so instead of making myself a team build like normal people do, i decided to incorporate a few headcanons about vivi’s ideal pokemon team underneath the cut! of course, that wasn’t originally part of the meme but with me, there’s no such thing as ‘low investment’ in a pokemon au, lol. feel free not to mimic me, though!

Breloom ( Portobello )

Portobello had been caught as a Shroomish in Petalburg Forest. Though sociable by nature, his habit of gossiping about his trainer, the people his trainer associates with, and the other Pokemon would irk those who are more reclusive. While contained inside his Pokeball, it can be said that he’s very observant. Like his trainer, however, he has a gluttonous streak and tends to easily get lost. Portobello’s a curious yet naive soul who has a habit of wandering off on his own when Vivian isn’t looking, which is why she would often be reluctant to release him from his Pokeball for an extended period of time. In fact, out of everyone else, Vivian tends to worry about him the most.

Steelix ( Squiggles )

An Onix that Vivian evolved through trading. Contrary to what his intimidating stature might suggest, Squiggles is actually a gentle giant that can’t bring himself to ignore trainers or Pokemon in need. He’s quick to lend a helping hand without expecting compensation. Additionally enough, he is the type to be easily emotional and cry actual tears of happiness when others are kind to him. Since Vivian is his trainer, Squiggles cares a whole lot about her. If it’s one downside he has, though, it’s that he can be rather stubborn.

Gyarados ( Nemo )

Nemo used to be one of the numerous Magikarp a fisherman had caught, but  Vivian had rescued him from being minced fish meat by carrying him out of the pail; in other words, Vivian basically stole him without the fisherman ever noticing. At the time, she wanted a Gyarados and didn’t feel like catching a Magikarp herself, because she was lazy. Regardless, Nemo still thinks he owes his life to her. As far as personality goes, he’s aggressive and vulgar. When it comes to his trainer, Nemo can be prone to violence if she’s being harassed. On top of that, he does love a good battle and is the Pokemon Vivian would use most frequently.

Polar Vivillon ( Knife ), Tundra Vivillon ( Spoon ),                                  Marine Vivillon ( Fork )

Since it’s said that Vivillon’s appearance is scattered throughout the world, Vivian would eventually come across three different types that correspond with her favourite colour: blue. Knife would be found by a spring, Spoon would be found by a meadow, and finally, Fork would be found at Allearth Forest. Of course, both were distant female cousins, but they still differed from each other in mannerisms. While Knife is the more whimsical one, Spoon happens to be calmly rational, and Fork is on the slightly shyer side to the point where around strangers, she tends to hide behind Vivian’s back.
