an  alternative  witch  /  legacies  verse  /  headcanon   for  stefan  ft.  hope  (  @moontinged  ,  also  au  where  klaus  is  alive  still.  ) 

after  stefan  dies  in  the  finale  of  the vampire  diaries,  he  finds  peace  with  his  best  friend,  lexi.  he  remains  in  peace  for  thirteen years,  until  he’s  brought  back  to  life.   klaus  mikaelson  was  determined  to  get  his  old  friend  stefan  back,  no  matter  what  it  took.  he  had  thought  stefan  deserved  another  chance  at  life.  so,  he  sought  out  witches  to  help  with  a  resurrection  spell.   hope  offered  to  do  the  spell  herself  and  help  bring  stefan  back  to  life.  while  it  took  many  tries  and  months,  eventually  with  how  powerful  she  is  and  the  right  spells,   she  was  successful  at  resurrecting  him.  

since  stefan  died  as  a human,  he  came  back  as  a  human.  yet,  because  he  has  silas’ DNA  in  his  bloodline,  he  actually  came  back  as  a  untapped  witch,  along  with  being  ACTUALLY  seventeen.  stefan  decided  to  live  in  his  old  room  and   enroll   himself   in  the  very  school  that’s  named  after  him,  figuring  it  would  be  a  proper   way  for  him  to  truly  tap  into  his  magic.  he  also  wanted  to  restart  his  second  chance  at  life  and  be  a  teenager  because  he  truly  never  got  to  actually  be  one.  

of  course,  he  could’ve  turned  away  the  magic  and  took  this  opportunity  to  live  as  a  normal  human    (  teenager  )   like  he  always  wanted.  but  he  figured  why  waste  the  chance  of   being  able  to  help  people  with  magic  and  without  the  guilt  of  being  a  vampire. 

because  stefan  is  actually  a  teenager in  this  verse,  his  faceclaim  will  be  alex  fitzalan  instead  of  paul  wesley.

BIRTHMARK HEADCANON

「  So linking in with @northsalpha's headcanon about the Mark of the North East Atlantis Pack and my own prior headcanon of Klaus having a birthmark linking him to the Original Seven Werewolf Bloodlines as Hayley did with hers ; Niklaus was born with the mark on his left forearm but Esther immediately covered it with magic ( quite literally immediately upon seeing it she placed a glamour over it, before later, when she had the privacy and time, erased it from his skin ) so that the secret of Niklaus' parentage would not be discovered. Klaus was never aware of this birthmark's existence until he unlocked his hybrid nature and becomes an unworthy alpha a thousand years later and it starts to seep into his skin again. However, due to his disconnection with his werewolf side, nor his true position as an alpha, it's not really visible, barely to even him, and he feels uncomfortable about it; mostly because he doesn't know how to feel about it when he makes the connection to his biological father. Upon realizing the suppression Esther put him under throughout his childhood ( and learning his own link to the original werewolf bloodlines, which goes along with Hayley's Crescent birthmark ), he understands his mother must have erased it and it infuriates him because it's yet another thing she's stolen from him. If Klaus got more in touch with his werewolf nature, the mark would become more visible. He would also be more likely to take pride in it, taking ownership of this part of his body as he strives to do with everything his mother took, as well as giving him a concrete link to his werewolf heritage. 」

WHAT MONSTER FROM FORKLORE PROTECTS YOU?

For some, the Skinwalker is very real and very lethal. Even the mere utterance of its name is fated to bring a curse upon you if not the being itself. A skinwalker was once a human, a human who succumbed to the tempting promise of power that only the darkest of arts can bring. As with all magic, it comes at a cost. The sacrifice of someone in their family. Skinwalkers prowl the woods at night, taking the form of an animal to inflict pain and suffering on others. It has the ability to transform into anything ... or anyone by skinning them alive and traipsing around in their skin ... like some sort of sick costume. 

For you, change is constant and inevitable. It is in the air you breath, the people you love, and the life you live. However, unlike everyone else, you don't fight against it. You've never seen the point. It seemed futile to oppose a constant like change. This attitude had made you into a very accepting and open-minded individual. 085, describe your character in three words.

Vicious bastard son.

Those three words define the essentials of who Klaus is as a character, more or less. Vicious because he is, but that hadn’t always been the case ( REBEKAH: “I remember the sweet boy who made me laugh and gave me gifts. (…) How could you have fallen so far?” ), so it shows the kind of character that Klaus developed into through the events of his life and who we met in the show, because even as we saw him soften that didn’t change. His status as a bastard has effected every aspect of his life, even before he knew he was a bastard ( being weakened by his own mother to hide her secret, which in turn inspired hatred in his step-father and started the cycle of abuse that Klaus would live for a millennium, his feelings of always being different from others, including his family, the root of his insecurities ) ( KLAUS: “A bastard. That’s all I am to you, isn’t it? ). Son is something he tries desperately to run from, but also yearns for, and what made him what he is of course ( KLAUS: “You, Mother, are the author of everything I am.” ); he is Esther’s secret child, the illegitimate child she emotionally abused in order to keep her own secret, which set the course of the rest of Klaus’ life; he is Mikael’s hated stepson, with the man mentally/emotionally/physically abusing him, which led to Klaus spending a thousand years running paranoid; he is Ansel’s abandoned son, not cared for enough to save and protect, left to the mercilessness of his other parents, which led to Klaus’ abandonment issues and feelings of inferiority.

001. When is their birthday?

April 19. However, due to not having calendars back in those days, Klaus only knows he was born in the middle of Spring. His life begun just as life was blooming outside, renewing the world as his renewed his family ( ESTHER: "When you were born, it renewed his spirits." ). He also fits the stereotypical Aries traits: passionate, high energy, impulsive, impatient, stubborn, determined, domineering, etc.

OKAY BUT PLEASE-- expand on this [https://www.tumblr.com/savagevillain/715791083093753856/026-what-do-they-consider-ugly-in-others?source=share] because i have my own Thoughts and i want to hear yours!! i always thought that klaus hated weakness because it's a form of self-hatred, since mikael always said he was weak. because esther made him weak to surpress his werewolf side and prevent the curse.

KLAUS: "You left me to suffer at the hands of a father who valued only strength. (...) My whole life, I sought approval from the man I thought was my father. You turned me into the weakling he hated. "

Yes, a lot of Klaus' hatred for weakness is childhood trauma. Repeatedly, he was told that he was weak, physically ( unknown to him because Esther's magic was repressing him ), emotionally ( because he was unable to control his emotions to the extent Mikael wanted him to ), and mentally ( he was often more focused on his own pursuits, such as creativity rather than putting food on the table, in addition to his 'cowardice' with his father ). To Klaus, looking back at himself as a human, he's the personification of weakness: cowering terrified before his father, insecure about his place in the world and his family, unable to stand up for himself or others. He hates it; he hates himself; he hates to see himself in others like that. It reminds him that no matter how much has changed, no matter how much he's changed, he will always be that scared little boy. It's everything he despises in himself and so he despises it in others.

100. Does your character dream? If so, what do they dream about?

KLAUS: "I'm having dreams of my dead father. No diagnosis necessary, love. I've already got this one covered. My fears of fatherhood, of scarring my child as my father scarred me, are manifesting as nightmares."

Klaus does dream, as shown in season 1 when he had the dream of Hope that was interrupted by Mikael's spirit impaling him. While this was literally Mikael, I do believe most of Klaus' dreams are nightmares ( which is one of the reasons he rarely sleeps; in his darker times, he can go weeks without sleeping, partly due to paranoia of what could happen in the physical world when he's in that vulnerable state but also fearing the dreams that would await him ) and that these nightmares reflect what he's most scared of at that time. Mikael is a recurring nightmare, as are his siblings and other loved ones leaving him. He dreams a lot of Hope in later years, but again these are typically nightmares in which he's hurt her and she hates him, etc.

026. What do they consider ugly in others personality-wise?

Linking in with your last ask, Klaus finds weakness off-putting. Again, not just physical weakness but mental and emotional. Cowardice, feebleness, insecurity, etc. In spite of his consistent efforts to get everyone to follow his lead, he doesn't admire meek personalities that bend over backwards and do what others want. He also finds it unattractive when people are needy ( when he doesn't want it, that is ), and thinks the world resolves around them ( lol, yes, we acknowledge the hypocrisy for both ), which was demonstrated with his relationship with Aurora and how that ended; Klaus' insult to Aurora was "your spoilt little mind".

025. What do they consider beautiful in others personality-wise?

KLAUS: “There is beauty in the courage of the fragile fighter. Those that persevere, despite all they've been through, those who still believe there is good in the world.”

What most attracts Klaus to people is strength, not just physical but mental and emotional. People who will stand up to him, fight for what they believe in ( even if that goes against him; he doesn’t like that but he admires it ). He admires people who have been through tragedies and managed to come out the other side stronger. He’s been trapped in the darkness and his fear and and the horrors of life for so long that it’s impossible for him to see through it by the time we get to the show, so when someone else can? When someone has the courage to look at life and decide it’s more than horror? That’s beautiful to him. That gives them beauty.

「  There is a lot of trauma intwined with Klaus' view of the werewolves. He was raised being taught they were dangerous and to stay away from them ( which didn't help his feelings of being different from others since he was so drawn to them ) and then he witnessed his little brother be mauled by them. He found out that everything he'd been told about the werewolves had been right and his own gut feeling had been wrong. They were villains in his childhood and then he found out that he was one. He literally had part of the beasts that had killed his youngest brother within him ( they had been his blood family ). It had been his fault that Henrik had been anywhere near them in the first place that full moon, because he'd led his brother out to watch them turn. He set everything in motion. The guilt had been overwhelming, as had the grief. ( ELIJAH: "Our family was devastated. None more so than Niklaus." ) He became convinced that his siblings found him guilty too and that they looked at him with the same mistrust and fear they had looked at the wolf-men in the village. 」

after 1000+ years as a vampire, why does klaus clings so hard to his wolf side? and not just as the original hybrid or for the fear factor, but genuinely a lot of imagery is wolf related and he even starts looking for family members from that pack in season one of the originals.

「 Klaus' attachment to his werewolf side is very complicated. As a child, he had always been fascinated by the wolf-men in the village, drawn to them in ways he never understood ( which was why he and Henrik were out there that night that his little brother got killed ), until of course he turned and his parentage was revealed. But his understanding came with a whole load of grief; not only was he a bastard son but his biological father's pack, which would have been his pack had he lived that life, had been the ones to murder his brother in front of him, and it was his fault for taking Henrik out there that night. Soon after that, his werewolf side was bound and he lost the connection before he'd even had a proper chance to feel it. In the aftermath, there was a lot of bitterness about the revelations and that was definitely the most prominent of his emotions and thoughts but he also had a secret fantasy of another life he could have lived, one that he was sure would have been better: one as his biological father's son. However, he had no real connection to that, having never lived among the wolves or known his father, so he started to connect to it subconsciously through wolf imagery and such. This, however, did depend on where Klaus' mindset was at the time as, during times he felt particularly close or in need of his siblings, he would attempt to solidify his bond as their brother; in times that he and his siblings were on the outs, he would set himself apart from them as the victimised unloved half-brother. Being a werewolf had been denied to him, as a child and a man, and Klaus thought that if he could have it, it would make him feel better. It was the idea that he clung to more than the true nature. By the time we come to the show and Klaus breaking his curse, he's made himself an enemy to his family, at worse odds with them than ever, so he attempts to create a new family, people who are just like him: his hybrids. Of course that didn't work out because he lacked affection for them and the understanding that to make a family you could belong in, you had to first make it a place worthy of belonging to. In season one TO, he finds out that he has blood relatives on his biological father's side, the side of his family that has always been denied to him, and he seeks them out because he's curious to put it simply. His werewolf side has always been just out of reach, even after he broke the curse, because of how long it was denied to him, and therefore its something he desperately wants. Despite everything, Klaus does not feel like he belongs to the werewolves; he will forever be an outsider, always looking in, never accepted. He also doesn't make any attempt to repair this because he fears the rejection that would come anyway; hence why Klaus tends to insult werewolves and look down on them, which is a completely different meta. 」
