Lucifer tries to flirt everytime he sees you outside (or once he comes back to see the hotel which… would be 'some' time later…) But it's not long before Alastor shows up bcs he has a shadow follow you everywhere

Alastor's expression was always one of annoyance whenever someone came to you for help. He wouldn't dare admit it, but he was most certainly jealous of anyone who even stood too close to you, let alone talked to you.

𓋼 Because of that one time that Alastor stood right next to Charlie to spite Lucifer, Lucifer decided to stand just that close to you to get back at him.

"An eye for an eye, Mr Radio!"

"I recommend you watch yourself."

𓋼 One time, when you were out of the hotel and walking around Hell with Alastor, Vox just so happened to see you on one of his tv screens, Valentino sitting by him, messaging someone.

"Hey Val, who the fuck is that with that old-timey prick?"

"Hm? No clue."

"You didn't even look, fuckhead"

"How would you know? You're too busy eyefucking Alastor."

"I am not"

"She's probably just another one of those redemption hotel idiots. It doesn't matter"

But Vox still just glared at the screen.

𓋼 Vox continued to keep an eye on you, seeing just how wonderful you are and so when you were outside the hotel alone (or so he thought) he went up to you. Somehow he didn't catch onto the fact that you're Alastor's mother.

"Hello-"

"What do you think you're doing?" Alastor, of course, suddenly appeared out of thin air, standing in between you and Vox, with an even more annoyed smile than usual.

"Alastor, is this another one of your friends?"

"No-"

"Yes, absolutely, ma'am. Great friends, in fact!"

"Ha! Well, you see, this is my Mother."

"Your what?"

Yeah, Alastor simply walked away with you whilst Vox was buffering.

𓋼 Vox constantly tried to talk to you alone but Alastor was always there to stop him, so unfortunate.

"Would you stay away from my Mother, you-! Ahem, my apologies, Mother."

"Hah! Your mother? I think you meant our mother!"

𓋼 Alastor would absolutely cover your ears when swearing at, or insulting, anyone.

𓋼 When you first met Valentino, you were so mad at him on Angel's behalf that you knocked him out and brought him back to the hotel with you. Of course, Vox was there with Val but he was like a lost duckling, just slowly trailing behind you, unsure what to do.

"I'm back!"

"What the fuck did you do??" Angel was lying down on the couch when you entered, dragging the unconcious Valentino behind you.

"A favour to you and hell!"

"No, but how?!"

"Ok… so why'd ya bring him here?"

𓋼 Back to Lucifer! He would tell you random animal facts to try and impress you! He would also unironically ask around, and search up (if necessary), how to impress a woman.

𓋼 Lucifer would suddenly start playing the violin for everyone in the hotel 'for everyones' entertainment' as he called it. (It was meant for you though). Each time Lucifer did this, Alastor told you that something important happened that required your attention. You always stayed for the beginning though.

𓋼 One day, you were baking cookies and you and Alastor left the kitchen for a while whilst they were in the oven, however, you both somehow managed to forget about them… so when the smoke alarm suddenly rang, you ran into the kitchen, everyone wondering what happened.

The Penguin: Episode 1 Breakdown

Thank you Lauren LeFranc, Mike Marino, Colin Farrell and Matt Reeves, we owe you the world for this, good God. It's finally here everyone and I've decided I'm gonna give each episode it's own post/breakdown of thoughts, because hahaha holy shit you guys this is beyond what I even dreamed of, and we're gonna be covering this for a while I think. I've worked out enough madness about this out of my system by talking with friends and I can't seem to be able to work on anything else till I get this done, so let's do it.

Bottom line: This isn't even just a must-watch if you like the Penguin or if you like The Batman, this is something I'd recommend to just about anyone in a heartbeat, something I can point to when people ask "why do you like The Penguin so much" and, instead of the elaborate nerd ramble that usually turns them off, I can just tell them to watch this. A friend of mine (who already loves Batman and digs the Penguin quite a bit) even told me as much, that he's starting to get why I love the character so much, and truly, is there a better feeling than this? Well, there is, and it's watching the show. Let's dig into this first episode:

Right upfront I'm gonna say that this doesn't really seem to be the Sopranos rip-off that people have been calling it before release, although there are definitely Sopranos comparisons to make here. I've spent the past months finally watching The Sopranos in order to get the comparison and definitely want to talk about those comparisons after I finish it (and this show ends). This thing aims to stand on it's own legs as a crime show and it's smashing out of the gate with an extremely promising first episode.

So this just casually opens with the reveal that all along, there was a second rich Gotham the whole time that was completely unaffected by everything we saw in the movie, already throwing a great twist on the events of that movie, and further reinforcing how fucking full of shit The Riddler was. All we saw Batman and the others deal with in the movie was just affecting the poorer parts of the city. All Eddie did was drown rats, and make life worse for the people already in the bottom, while never even getting close to targeting the systemic rot that ruined his life. He retains ideological worshippers in subways obsessed with the corruption of the city without doing anything to actually improve it, and because of him, the streets of Gotham are waterlogged shitholes while the rich Falcone suburbs are doing just fine, peachy even.

I said a while back that, in spite of having about 6 scenes/10 minutes of Penguin runtime, The Batman managed to squeeze impeccably controlled Penguin Trademark Scenes, and this show opens with the last one they didn't get to then: Penguin killing someone for making fun of him. In the movie, he tries doing that with Falcone and is beaten to the punch, so here he gets to actually do it to disastrous consequences.

Fucking adore that the inciting incident of the show is based on the fallout of Oswald killing someone for making fun of him. He pours his heart about the dream he lives his life for, his new boss makes fun of him for being an embarassment to their profession and then he does the most typical Penguin thing by killing him for it and laughing afterwards. And then he realizes how badly he fucked up, and then we get a fucking perfect titledrop with his musical theme, the exact moment we finish The Batman and enter The Penguin.

God it is so fucking cool how the make-up/lighting, the scar across his face, makes it look like he's got a genuine beak from certain angles, how they're able to achieve that effect without giving him a more literal beak for a nose. Everytime they talk about the character, Reeves and Farrell always emphasize how integral the make-up was to them figuring out what to do with Oz, how little they knew what to make of his six scenes until Marino created their monster and suddenly everything fell into place. Mike Marino fully deserves co-credit for the creation of Oz.

Pretty amusing that Victor, as designed to be Penguin's Robin, has exactly the same origin as Jason Todd, a poor street kid trying to steal the hubcaps off the Penguinmobile (I'm sure this bodes very well for his odds at survival), as is the way in which Oz goes on about his recruitment. He press-gangs this kid at gunpoint to help him bury a body arguing with himself and eventually the kid why shouldn't he just kill him to be safe, while trying to impress the kid with his car and air freshener and later that bullshit about "What, you think I hire any schmuck off the street?". From the tile drop onwards, he's doing everything on the fly while also spinning long-term plans set in motion as soon as he's on screen, he's taking this kid in out of sympathy and because he enjoys a power dynamic over someone weaker than him and because he very much needs someone to help him get stuff done. I'm extremely interested in exploring Penguin having a mentorship dynamic and I'm beyond curious as to what happens with Victor from this point onwards, but that poor kid is in for a terrible fucking time.

Found it very funny how much he half-asses the murder threat to Victor. Like it's his first time actually doing it and he's trying to be serious, but not too scary because he's already seeing himself in the poor kid with a stutter and wants the kid to think he's also a cool guy like he wants everyone to think he's a cool guy. I also think having Victor as the POV helps to sell moments like these, because it's still terrifying to him. Even as we follow their stories, these power players of Gotham are still big scary monsters to people caught in the dregs and Victor helps to reinforce that.

I enjoy Oz being friends with sex workers and drag queens off the street as much as I enjoy Oz being depicted as the kind of guy who deludes himself into thinking the prostitute he's with actually likes him, Lauren and Farrell launched into a bit about in on the podcast and I'm curious to see what's going on with him and Eve here.

Lots of perfect funny little character moments across the whole thing. Oz insulted by the idea of taking extra pickles off a poor kid's dirty mouth, but with zero hesitation whatsoever for picking jewelry off his boss' corpse. Dude is governed by principles even as he actively has to break them to survive.

"Technically it's plum." "He is the - or was the - new kingpin", "He's got nurse-like qualities." The show is not overtly trying to get you to find Penguin likeable as much as it wants you to find him engaging - making you think he's likeable is Colin Farrell's job and he's masterful at it, definitely a lot more matured within the character compared to the movie.

If there's anything in particular I'm thankful for regarding Gotham (well okay Gotham led directly to Telltale Penguin which was the basis for this one, so really I do have a lot more to be thankful with Gotham), it's the decision to give him a legit waddle via the broken foot, but the way they incorporate it here with the club foot does so much for him, so much as a modern day reinvention of The Penguin. Adds so much to why he's never been a serious candidate for mob leadership, why he kinda had to spend all his time in the Lounge, why he actually needs someone to help him run affairs, why he has such a gaping ego wound and is so murderously angry at people making fun of him / calling him a goddamn penguin, adds so much validation and so much darkness and nuance to Oswald's overwhelming anger and bitterness over how the world treats him (and so much power should he opt to reclaim it, in turn). It's the kind of thing that frankly feels like it should have always been part of the character, like what all the previous versions were itching closer to or trying to get at. Of course this is a guy gets called a penguin and he hates it badly enough to murder people over it, of course.

This gets to really highlight how differently Oz acts depending on who he's with. Traditionally, one of my favorite things about The Penguin, and one of the things that puts him above the other villains, is that, due to his position, he has to interact with a lot more people than the other Bat-villains. He has to manage a lot more relationships and dynamics, he has to play peacekeeper and puppetmaster. he's the only one in the United Underworld who's regularly interacting with and recruiting other villains to do business with. He's the guy who you pin stuff on like the Gangland Guardians, Team Penguin, doing betting pools with the Rogues taking cover in his Lounge while Joker War is happening, having to rig games to keep good standing with Maxie Zeus and Frenchy Blake in Batman Audio Adventures, and so on. So I greatly enjoy this beat here of him talking about how makes himself smaller before the Falcones, and that moment of him adjusting his outfit and practicing expressions in the mirror before meeting with them. How he contorts himself is present in all of his relationships, and retroactively adds to the way he carries himself in The Batman.

It seems that Oz is functionally regarded as the Paulie Walnuts of the Falcones: useful muscle, loyal for the most part and amusing to keep around, but largely an unstable self-serving dumb asskisser kept where he belongs, a liability if not kept on a short leash. I think the show does a good job of highlighting all the reasons why Oz has never been seriously regarded as a viable option for a boss, even putting aside his disability. He is a fundamentally embarassing person for these serious respectable criminals to be around and of course, the joke is ultimately on them..

Of course, there is only two people in the show who actually know what he's capable of, Francis Cobb and Sofia Falcone, said to be the central relationships defining the show moving forward. Both of them also a defining commonality with Oswald, being people who are looked down on and dehumanized, and characters who are underestimated until it's time to bear their fangs.

Extremely invested in where they're going with Sofia Falcone, Cristine Milioti's been killing it, and will in fact not stop killing it. What a perfect villain for Penguin they've set up with her, someone who has his Kryptonite: she does not underestimate him. Although we know in advance that Oz is going to live and be in the next movie, the question here isn't even so much who's going to win the gang war, and rather how much damage these two freaks will do to the city until Batman gets back. In many ways, Sofia represents the shape of things to come just as much as he does.

She is this embodiment of both the pristine unfathomable wealth and privilege and power that he both detests and strives for, as well as this brutal new breed of madness and violence attacking the streets that he has to survive against and make deals with (and is himself very much a part of, however he denies it). She is Falcone's legacy in every way that matters, both a Kingpin of Gotham whose existence creates the oppressive conditions under which a Batman or a Riddler are created, as well as the Arkham Rogue, the larger-than-life sadist with a tragic origin and a signature torture-murder method and an embarassing name for the papers.

Even the fact that she is The Hangman, and Carmine was defined around his penchant for brutally strangling women - regardless of whether or not she did the crimes that got her in Arkham, she's become this larger-than-life themed expression of a violent obsession in a way that sets her up as every bit the Batman villain that The Penguin is. The two champions of the two Gothams, duking it out in this new world The Batman and The Riddler made, The Penguin vs The Hangman.

I am so glad Lauren LeFranc made the call for binning Alberto in the first five minutes so the rest of the show can focus on Sofia and make a real character out of her in a way nobody's ever really done before, every step of the way so far LeFranc has been perfectly on the ball about where to take these characters and their conflict. And speaking of those,

I feel very confident in saying that this is the first time anyone's ever really had something worth doing with Oswald's mother as a character in her own right and not just a source of anguish for Penguin (Gotham was almost onto something with Gertrude, but not nearly enough). When it comes to Penguin origin stories, my favorite's always been the Pre-Crisis one, where he's poor and bullied but happy with his mom and birds until she dies and the government seizes everything he has, which doesn't necessarily involve her much. But here? Francine Cobb is a real character in what little time we get to know her, and what a character she is. We quickly understand the role she's playing in Oz's life, not just as his mom and person he loves and strives to protect, but the person who's sculpting him into the man he's going to become.

She is vulnerable and she does need meds and she's not quite all there, and Penguin's need to care for her is visible in other actions of his. But then they turn it around by showing how strong and demanding she is, how she is fiercely ambitious and pushing him to be something he would otherwise not be, how much she loves him and sees greatness in him. She knows he's a people pleaser, she knows how to push his buttons, and she wants him to be more, so of course he's going to be more, because he lives to please his mom.

Related to this is this absolute bullseye of a summation of The Penguin, that Lauren LeFranc delivered in the podcast: "Perhaps his greatest fear is that love is transactional. And that yet, everything he does, every decision he makes, is as if that's true. As if "love is transactional" is a truth he abides by". Oswald's conception of power is being loved and revered like Rex Calabrese, and the love he wants most in all the world is the one from his mother. So in turn this, and all extensions of it, drive him to greater and darker lengths.

He doesn't have that ambition quite down yet, it's his mom that does. She who's pushing him to take over the city and not just be a guy scraping by for survival. He's smart and ambitious and extremely good at slipping out of trouble, but she's pushing him to be the guy who will be taking the city by the horns because that's what he has to be for their sake. Her legacy to her son is nurturing him having that dog in him that will make him the supervillain who picks fights with Vengeance. She is the force that's turning Oswald into The Goddamn Penguin and I can't wait to see how she's developed.

Of course he reprimands Victor in that scene for lacking ambition, who do you think he gets it from?

Really love what they've done with Sal Maroni in here so far. I like adaptations that take these throwaway Batman backstory gangsters and make something out of them, in this case, with Clancy Brown lending his power and voice and reputation as The Grand Boss of Villainy to play the last Respectable Gangster of Gotham, this intimidating principled old tiger who's inversely proportional to how much of a petty and scummy piece of shit Carmine Falcone was. Extremely a guy I'd want to see playing a hand in the creation of Two-Face. Just as crucial is the fact that he is the one who gets the most effortlessly outplayed by Oz here, because this is The Penguin Show: no room for traditional or respectable gangsters anymore, their purpose is to be crapped all over by our wacko birdman.

There's a lot about this that re-contextualizes his behavior in The Batman and the one I'm gonna point out is: even though he can't be sure his plan didn't completely go to shit, he is still keeping his wits and not being terribly scared about being beaten up and tortured and staring down the scariest Falcone with a gun shoved in his throat. But he craps his pants at the sight of the Batmobile. He gets pain, he gets indignity, but he doesn't get Vengeance, what kind of sick freak would come up with the stuff that guy does. A gun in his mouth and Falcone torture is just Tuesday, but a car that wants to eat his soul is some psycho shit he's just not ready to deal with.

It is the delicious tasty fucking irony that Oswald thinks Vengeance is this weird freak who doesn't play or bend to any rules and is here to fuck up everything, just like the madman who flooded the city, and thinks of himself in turn as a justifiable guy standing for the respectable old-fashioned empathetic way of doing things, instead of the exact same thing that Riddler and Batman are. Only Sofia gets what he really is, the same thing as her, and that's why she is the arch-enemy / the biggest thing he's gotta defeat in life for now.

God, how fucking PERFECT it is that he gets caught and tortured because he, after stabbing out a man's eye and causing him to get run over by a schoolbus, stops to wave at the kids in that schoolbus while covered in blood. Just the Rex Calabrese of it all, the self-image, this guy who's both a mean nasty son of a bitch and also a real bleeding heart softie and in ways that ruin his life and allow him to slip and wriggle his way out of shit he has no right to, as demonstrated by the finale.

Thinking about Sofia chastizing Oz saying he thinks she is a toy to play with, while rattling off the ways in which she owns him and everything he has, all the ridiculous little accessories her daddy let him play him, and he in turn is a ridiculous little accessory for the family she is twisting until it breaks. Perfect fucking villain for him. Can't wait to see how badly these two are gonna burn Gotham.

I knew deep in my heart that all I wanted out of a Penguin show, the thing that I simply needed to have in it, was Penguin pulling a heist set-up in advance, and it fucking delivered. He doesn't even complain at Victor for being late, because if anything, getting captured and tortured while the car crashed was even better for him. No, he complains at Victor for not being sufficiently gruesome with the body. See, unlike other cowardly anti-hero reinventions of Bat-villains, the show never wants you to forget that Oz is a weird freak and a disgusting piece of shit, even if he is a very likeable and even aspirational one. Only by the most random stroke of fate it wasn't Victor that he fed to the wolves at that moment, that he sees himself in the kid isn't exactly ensuring that he's gonna make out of this in one piece.

Mr. Vengeance gets Nirvana, and Mr. Boniface gets Dolly Parton, perfect credits.

In conclusion: Out of everything they could have done following the thunderous success of The Batman and it's ensuing influence over the DCU, out of all the offers Reeves must have gotten to helm their new universe after delivering a megahit reinvention of their breadwinner blockbuster character, Matt Reeves went "Nah, I listened to my crew, and what we really want to do is 8 hours of television about the waddling freak who's in my movie for 10 minutes", and he and his crew deserve the world for that. I dreamed as a kid of getting to make a big Penguin story or show, a wild impossible idea that would never actually happen, and now it's here and it's better than anything I'd ever imagined.

I'm fit to burst with joy and riding a high of no longer having to hunt for scraps and washing away decades of put-downs for the character and enjoying a Penguin renaissance like one I never imagined happening. I am extremely not an unbiased reviewer here, this show rules and I've waited for it since I was a kid and it's here, drink it the fuck in cause it's only the beginning.

Before miraculous, I never thought it's possible to get a burnout from a show so much that I can't even enjoy a fanfiction or fanarts from it. Everytime I saw a wholesome fanart I can't help but goes "ughhhh" because there's no way ladynoir could be that wholesome, and when I tried to read a fanfiction I couldn't help but grimaced because there's no way Marinette be that caring to Cat without ulterior motive. That's probably why I'm in awe with some people who claim they hate the show but still manage to produce a fanarts or fanfiction even it's end up very salty. I envy the energy. I'm not even in the fandom anymore, all new info about miraculous is something that I get secondhand because my friend still in love with the show and listening to her talk about it already exhaust me.

I know that feeling. Every time I see lovesquare art, when it isn’t making light of Maribug’s mistreatment of Adrichat, just makes me think of how it’s so removed from what’s going on in canon that it’s a joke. But, like, it’s the kind of bad joke that you’ve heard a million times and you’d rather throw up than listen to it again. It’s so bad I’d rather experience physical discomfort than see lovesquare fanart because that’s how uncomfortable it makes me.

And yeah, any attempt to discuss this show with someone who isn’t in the salt mines is like solving a puzzle game.

This show makes such baffling, terrible decisions, that, when I tried to explain to a coworker why I wouldn’t recommend showing the retooled seasons to kids, I couldn’t even get into the S5 finale. There was no way I could have explained what all goes wrong in that single episode without an essay or an hour-long lecture on the things the show set up and then ignored, how it treats the villain destroying the world as a happy ending because the protagonist gets to date the boy she likes, how it engages in abuse apologia and how it makes the love interest/closest thing to a secondary lead into a remote control robot with no human value and who’s then kept in the dark about both this and the fact that his father was a supervillain.

Instead I explained the plot of the episode ‘Confrontation’ and she agreed that Marinette is the worst possible role model for small children. But I can’t do that for my other coworker, who really likes the show but “doesn’t want spoilers”. She still hasn’t watched either S4 or S5 and I hope for her sake and mine that she forgets to.

And you know what they did? What they gave me in return? They promoted me to a General, they gave me my own fleet to command, my own loyal Stormtroopers, my own Resurgent Star Destroyer.

The First Order welcomed me, they gave me power. And all that just because I did the right thing - to fight for the right side.

But enough about me, let's talk about you.

Did you know I had - still have - a crush on you? From the very first day you joined the Resistance. I can still remember how Leia introduced you to me. She gave me the order to make sure you were prepared for your tasks. I did just that, watched you doing your tasks, and I liked what I saw.

hi there!! im new to the cherik fandom and your blog has been SO helpful im having the time of my life here every day reading your recommendations!! this is not a fic request but more of a prompt? i have this idea in my mind but i have nowhere to share so im sending it here in case someone feels interested. ive been thinking about this for MONTHS and i think it works so well with cherik bc of the whole multiverse thing so. erik and charles for some reason have to go to another universe and to do what they need to do they need to find their variants, nothing romantic has ever happened between them so they're in that phase where they were friends but now they're enemies and fighting and bickering all the time and they think its the same thing with their variants. but when they get there they find out their variants are together (as boyfriends or husbands, im thinking about them following their variants to kinda spy on them and everything is normal until they start kissing and/or having sex, like they're hiding in a tiny closet and need to be there quiet and almost breathing the same air while their variants are fucking) and it messes up with their heads because "what do you Mean my variant is dating him?" and thats the push they need to start thinking how it would be a relationship with each other. cherik already has so much tension as friends imagine them as enemies fighting after all of this? the sexual tension would be out of the charts!!! everytime theyd get too close to each other they'd remember how they had to watch other versions of themselves kiss and touch and moan and its getting unbearable. erik would be even more tense and on guard around charles and charles would take it personally bc he thinks erik now its disgusted or repulsed by him (mr magneto cant even look at him in the eye) until he snaps and kiss charles. or a kinda twisted version of this is cherik going to another universe where their variants are evil AND together (again, they only find out about this when they're already there), for some reason their powers dont work in this universe so they end up getting caught by their variants and when their variants found out about their "hatred" towards each other they decide to play with them and "give them a show". dark!charles using his powers to make charles and erik unable to move, making them watch dark!erik and himself having sex, dark!erik going on a rant about how they're wasting time fighting when they work better together, how they were made for each other, dark!charles would even connect all their minds together so erik and charles would be able to feel their pleasure. dark!erik fucking dark!charles unable to keep his mouth shut about how his charles is beautiful!!!@)#&@(#&@>×> idk if there’s any fic like this already but i cant stop thinking about it

Most children dream of being part of the monarchy. Wear fancy clothes to fancy events, always eating delicious foods made by private chefs and show off the most expensive pieces of jewelry the royal family had inherited with each generation.

You felt as if being born as a royal you had already won the lottery, at least that's what everyone had been telling you since you could remember. "Be grateful to be from golden cradle" was almost a daily reminder everyone says your way, but it didn’t feel like that to you. Your parents were so used to overprotect you that they forgot how it was important for one to learn how to defend themselves out in the world.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “The world out there is dangerous,” the king said. “You don't need to see it, you're fine here.”

That was usually his answer everytime you asked to go out, to you it felt as they were trapping you from knowing the truth of the outside. How were you supposed to rule the kingdom when they didn't allow you to see it?

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “The avatar is here, Your Majesty.” a voice announced, making you suddenly interested again in whatever was going on in the room.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Great! Let her in.” your father allowed, everyone composed themselves. Suddenly your dress had wrinkles you were getting rid of with your hands.

A small group of four entered the room lead by the most beautiful girl your eyes had ever laid on. The air got caught on your lungs when her sky colored eyes crashed with yours, it was as if someone had punched you in the stomach and your face grew warm when she smiled at you.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Your Majesty.” she talked, bowing slightly to the man walking to her with a big smile. Her voice sent a wave of chills down your spine.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Avatar Korra! We are so honored to have you here!” he said giggling a little, he called you by name two times as you were hypnotized to the point of being distracted, when you arrived by his side he introduced you. “The crown princess. Darling, this is avatar Korra.”

Such an uncomfortable bow you gave to her when your nervous were starting to get to you. “It is a pleasure meeting you, avatar Korra.”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “The... The honor is mine, Your Highness.” voice sounding as if she just ran a marathon, a couple of seconds of silence felt as if it was an eternity looking at such distracting eyes, almost like they were trying to decipher each other.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You may leave us, honey, we're going to discuss some important things.” the king tried to dismiss you, your eyebrows furrowed a little.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Shouldn't I be here, father? After all, I'm supposed to be taking your–.” mossy green eyes turned to look at you, dark and determined.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Be obedient and go with your mother, princess, she is in need of your help.” you took a step back and nodded.

You bowed both to him and to the group of new arrivals after almost running to the queen's side, who took your hand to reassure you, you both walked out the throne room.

For the remaining of the day, your mind was taken by the thought of the girl you met. How her eyes shined so beautifully thanks to the light of the room, wondering if they would look different under natural light. How she smelled like ocean breeze, her scent felt almost familiar, as if it was nostalgic to you. And Korra was just like you or worse, at her meeting she hardly put attention to what the king was saying, her eyes and expressions were in the room, but her mind was on you. How your emerald eyes were sweet, innocent, nothing like the ones the man infront of her had. How you looked so shy, but at the same time well composed with an intimidating aura to anyone who looked at you. How you had a faint scent of wet earth that she adored and thought if there would be a way she could be by your side again to memorize every detail your face had; almost as if you could read her mind, being careful to not be seen by your father or someone on his close circle, you had invited yourself to the avatar's temporary housing when you saw your father wandering the palace and was notified the reunion with the girl had finished.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Your Highness!?” she exclaimed in a whisper, blinking surprised. You turned around after closing the door.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Avatar Korra.” her name fell your mouth like butter, she had to fight to not smile like a teenager in love. “I'm sorry to interrupt like this, it's just... I... Uhm, I felt like we didn’t get to know each other like we're supposed to.”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Oh...” the girl felt her own face starting to heat up. “You... Want to get to know me?”

An almost desperate nod was given by you. “I live here in captivity, I'm not allowed to see anything or meet anyone outside the palace.” your feet moved to seat beside the avatar. “And I thought... Well, since you are the avatar, I'm sure you had seen the world and... Maybe we can be friends.”

Blue eyes looked at you with compassion to your sudden confession, she knew exactly the feeling you described, she had been in your shoes before and knew how frustrating it was to be kept away from the world she was supposed to know.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “At some point you will be the Earth Queen, won't you?” she started, your eyes sparkled with emotion. “I'm sure we can make an arrangement with you while I'm here for a mission.”

The way your whole face lit up made Korra smile big, burning such beautiful sight in her core memory as you hugged her with excitement and giggling. A minute later, you realized what you were doing and were quick to distance yourself.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I apologize, I got too excited.” your face felt hot and your eyes looked down your hands. One of hers rested on top of yours and when you looked up again, a sweet smile met your gaze.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Don't apologize, Your Highness, I liked it.” to such confession, both your and her face heated up to its limit.

The next days by Korra's side were the most exciting time you had in your life. She was teaching you what she knew about the nations, Republic City and anything she could think of that would be important for you to know. One of your meetings was fully her teaching you new earthbending moves since you just knew the basics, but not enough to defend yourself and she praised you saying how you were a quick learner and a great student.

Now laying down in the grass, Korra and you were looking at the stars scattered all over the night sky, pointing constellations you could see and recognize.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You know, Korra?” your voice called for her attention. “This days by your side has to be the only time I have truly felt alive.”

Ice blue gaze fought with the emerald on your orbs at such words, a smile started to paint her lips. “I'm glad to bring happiness to you, princess.”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I would love to go with you and help out there,” you whispered, Korra turned to rest on her stomach, closer to you. “To help my people... To be by your side as much as I'm allowed to.”

Your hand reached to her face which leaned to your touch, a sweet smile adorned your face now and you were witness to how the blue eyes you grew so quick to adore softened to your sight.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Maybe one day we can be together.” she whispered back, hoarsely. Korra leaned more to you to the point of having her nose brush yours. “Hope is the last thing one loses, princess, if we keep that flame alive I'm sure we will find our way.”

The feel of her lips claiming yours was better of what you've dreamed before, you felt tingles on your own lips and you were so sure your heart was so close to escape your chest and land on her feet. Amaze by the way Korra had brought such amount of joy to you, how you were finally feeling that kind of love you had read about on the dozens of novels after wondering if you could ever feel that. And there you were, feeling loved romantically by someone, feeling desired in such a sweet way, your first love finally and probably the only one as you had already extended your heart fully to her.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “We are grateful for your hospitality, Your Majesty.” Korra said to your father with an ephemeral smile. “I'm also glad we were able to come to an agreement.”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I am too!” your father smiled, he turned his gaze away from her for a moment. “I hope you found your stay here pleasant.”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I assure you I did.” her eyes now were fixated on you, winking your way that made you smile. “Hopefully I will be back soon enough.”

When he turned back to her, both of you returned to your original stand. “We will be glad to have you back, right, honey?” he was talking your way now.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “We will, avatar,” your eyes tried to burn the memory of her face in your brain now that she was leaving. “You know you have a place always with us any time you need it.” Korra felt like she was about to melt.

Even with distance between you, the communication never broke.

Korra had bought a messenger falcon to which she showed a way to the Earth Palace from the back to not be seen by anyone other than you and for so long that was how you two kept in touch with each other without your father knowing.

“Referred to as the “Queen of the Autumn Garden”, the dahlia flower has a long flowering season and long-lasting blooms. This is partly why it symbolizes commitment and a lasting bond between two people. Our love is a dahlia, my dearest.” you sent one day with the messenger bird after your instructor had given you a book of flower language, alongside the letter one dahlia was attached for her to keep and she did, she froze the flower on a sphere of water for it to last as long as she desired to. Loving the meaning of the flower and calling you her dahlia from that day forward on every single letter you received, even if it was ink you could feel the love which she was writing with.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I intend to host the first ball of autumn to celebrate our youngest engagement.” your mother said at dinner one night. “And I was thinking on inviting all the powerful people too, what do you think, my king?”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “That could be a great idea,” the man said after thinking of it and nodding. “We can get better alliances from it.”

Such a quick excuse was given by you to not let them suspect anything and you breathe calm when they accept and said how that was an excellent idea.

The days passed at a slow pace that it almost drove you crazy, but when the night of the celebration finally arrived and the people started to walk in your eyes were fixated on the doors while one of your siblings talked to you. At the first sight of a blue dress with such gorgeous laugh you had missed you excused yourself from the conversation saying how you needed to greet someone and were quick to walk to your girlfriend.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Avatar Korra.” you greeted smiling big, turning to her friends later. They all bowed to you shortly.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Your Highness, it's so good to see you again.” she said back, her hands itching to touch you.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “We will be at the dance floor,” the inventor said watching the scene with a sweet smile and took the two boys by the arm. “Have fun!”

You let your eyes followed them and after checking that not a single person of your family or court was watching, you took her hand to guide her to the empty library that was secluded from the main event.

Closing the doors with lock to make sure no one would interrupt, Korra was the first to attack your lips with hers in such a hungry and desperate way that made you whimper, making her be as close to you as humanly possible.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You have no idea how much I missed you,” she said after distancing once her lungs were burning, asking for air. “I thought I wasn't going to see you this soon, my love.”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “We have to thank my youngest sibling for getting engaged.” you whispered with a giggle, your hands cupped her face while hers hugged your waist. “I missed you too, dearest... There's not a single day that went by without me thinking of you.”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Soon enough they will do a party like this to celebrate our engagement.” she said in a fun way, but even so your heart skipped a beat. “Or bigger, maybe bigger.”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “First we need my father's approval and I'm so sure he won't accept our relationship,” you answered with sadness taking over the brightness of your eyes. “He wants for me to marry a strong alliance for the kingdom.”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “What better alliance than the avatar herself?” she attacked back, one hand taking your chin softly. “I will fight for you, darling, my love for you is strong to the point of challenging the king himself if I need to just to be by your side. To have you as my partner.”

Emerald colored orbs fought against sky colored ones after such comment she had said and after a big smile, your lips took over hers once more in a soft kiss that was quick to escalate tone. That night were only the moon up in the sky was witness of your love and promises you knew your life would change for good, you finally saw a light at the end of the tunnel after meeting the southerner and were thankful to the spirits for letting the love between you two bloom in such harsh conditions and for it to maintain its strength even if time passing by, you knew that relationship was going for a really long run.

I took some time to search for some OLD art of mine... there is nothing left that shows the absolute beginning. But I can explain a little how it went: (aka recreate some stuff)

Both Zoro pictures are from the same year. Don't know about you but sometimes my skills jump like crazy!! There are 10-15yo pics that look better than all what I can do today. Thats weird!

Gawd I hate it now lol But I loved it the time I made this.

I grew up loving to draw. I did not do it to show it to someone in the first place. Since I had no speacial goal I got better very slowly, but that's fine. I never pushed my skills actively forward- so there's nothing to complain about.

The digital journey began with ms paint (left) I scanned the lines and used a mouse.

Paint net (right) still no graphic tablet but the program had line- and curve thingys I could draw with and of course.... Layer XD

I don't know exactly- but between this pictures might be 2 or 3 years. This is from my non shipping time. These days this is totally shipping content and you are not allowed to think otherwise XD Platonic love (bromance) seems not to be a thing online anymore. And I miss it.

I lived for the aesthetics!!! Still do XD

Realistic stuff helped me. Everytime I tryed to draw irl people in manga/comic style - you had NO chance to recognise them XDD That got better haha

A little tip:

Write the date onto your artpiece. (onto the backside if you draw on paper) You'll be thankfull in a couple of years^^

And one other thing: If you desperately try to find your style: How you draw right now IS your style. And you (can) have different styles. It changes all the time! It's not an end point of your drawing journey- because there is none. Keep evolving. Find ways to draw you like. Even then, move on^^

So I finally watched Wicked because my mom and waited for the Sing Along version to show in our local art house cinema theatres and ohmygod I cannot recommend it enough

The audience was SPECTACULAR! Some highlights of the audience (minor spoilers under the cut):

- I was worried bad singers might ruin my experience but ohmygod the theatre kids CAME TO PLAY - we were ALMOST as good as a Filipino singers audience ahahaha (sidebar: the Filipino crowd for Olivia's concert clips will forever rent free in my head)

- Someone yelling LET'S GO LESBIANS before What Is This Feeling played

- Everyone YELLING "me and BAWK" from the depths of their souls was amazing

- Someone literally went to the front to dance out the entire Dancing Through Life choreography; it was WILD AND THEY WERE SO TALENTED

- Me yelling "YOU ARE THAT GIRL" at Elphaba to hype her up after she finished I'm Not That Girl and everyone cheering with me (everyone was not hyping Cynthia's Elphie up enough)

- Everyone SCREAMING at the cameos in One Short Day

- WE BODIED DEFYING GRAVITY - THE RIFFS WERE SOOO GOOOD and of course once the applause died down, I yelled out GREAT RIFFS EVERYONE

- My mother who isn't as invested as I am in the story, FINALLY clapped at the end of Defying Gravity

(Cringey I know but we all clapped after every song like we do for stage shows shsjsjjs)

- Loudest cheers for Cynthia and Ari's names during credits

-People booing Ethan Slater when his name came up LMAO

- Everyone swooning at Jonny's name and everytime he came up on screen; Jonathan Bailey the man you are!!

Overall, the energy in the theatre is great but the majority of crowd was a little too pro-Galinda for my taste because Cynthia as Elphie BLEW ME AWAY and once I've sit with this movie tonight, I'm gonna write out how it made me feel!

I think i need to say something before the New Year's Eve. Eeehhh, Hi, i'm not dead (yet), and i was really depressed about many personal aspects in my life, and that inclued my artistic and writing skills... So, i really didn't do anything. Again.

And i abandoned this art account for waaay too long. What a shame.

But anyway, i believe i need to say that i have been doing some art there and there, when i wasn't studying or bed rooting or watching Project Zomboid Gameplays(God tier game between!) and i'm gonna show some of the arts i have been doing along the year and explain their context.

Although i was Really proud of this first drawing, i confess that i was kinda scared to post it. ALL my account was about Megaman X and my rewrite about the story of the game, and i really wanted to focus on it... So i shelved this Arcanine/Growlithe drawing. She's an oc i made for a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon original story, leader of a Explorer Team called Team Roar and oh boy, she HAS angry issues! Many, many angry issues! She was trained by a Gardevoir, her adoptive mother, and she turned this little furball into a Beast.

Next drawing is a Garchomp with albinism. Also a part of the Mystery Dungeon story i made. He's just the owner of the town's restaurant and has the biggest beef with a Jinx, they're both rivals since childhood and they continue to be enemies for life. (Don't ship them, they're both married to other characters, LOL.) (They hate each other and it's not the enemies to lovers type.)

The last pokemon related character is the story protagonist! He's a Type:Null and his partner is a Rattata! (I never saw someone doing a Type:Null for a Explorer fiction... It's normaly: Eevee, Eevee, Eevee, maybe one of the starters— I mean, there's no problem in that, you use the pokemon that fits the most with your protagonist personality, of course! But i wanted something different, and how i wanted this story to be about Arceus missing and the legendaries are fighting with each other to see who's gonna rule in God's place, and the world is suffering the consequences of this war, i believe a Type:Null would fill the protagonist place perfectly!) (As for the Rattata, if i did a Legendary, i needed someone not Op and simple, lol! But she's important. Believe me. But i don't want to talk about this now because i already said Too much about this story.)

Ok, next category.

Is someone here familiar with the brazilian Megaman comic, “As Novas Aventuras de Megaman"? (Yeah, finaly something National!!! Amazonia, Soccer and Carnaval let's GOOOOOOO BRASILLL!!!! )

Ok, now on a serious note. This comic is hot garbage. It's bad. But i recommend it, just to laugh at it for shits and giggles. As a long term brazilian fan of the series, i can't help but smile about the fact that the protagonists were traveling in Brazil, killing corrupted politicians in São Paulo, facing cangaceiros in Ceará and going to Minas Gerais to fight Aliens in the last volume, it was amazing! And having the writers Mary Sue wanting to kill Megaman in his own story so she could be the protagonist was the cheery on this whole shit cake. It was so bad that i loved it. And Roll having basicaly Astro Boy backstory but extremly Edgy was... Something.

Of course, i need to say this, although i really liked some aspects of the story, i don't like the objectification of Roll. I hate it. I DESPISE every Second of it. I like the ideia of her changing clothes, i loved the ideia of her having something more going on with her, and for me, she was more entertaining than Rock in this comic, which let's go?? Roll finaly having the spot light??

But oh my GOD. THIS WHOLE “ROMANCE" BETWEEN HER AND X, HOLY SHIT, I WANTED TO PULL THE SKIN OF MY FACE EVERY TIME X WAS ACTING LIKE A FUCKING WEIRDO WITH HER.

I HATED HER BEIGN SEXUALIZED EVERYTIME. BE MORE RESPECTFUL WITH HER, IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK??

Anyway, now, let me show what i have been doing related to this comic.

Yeah, redesigns! It still looks like garbage, but i can finaly get those designs out my system.

I still need to draw X though—

Anyway, context! Roll is the protagonist of the story, and she's been searching her father's lab for ages, looking after his Magnum opus. (That she still has no ideia what it could be, but she knows it's something that Willy can't have.) She's her team mechanic and leader, she's normaly the one that does the negotiations and the talking when it's needed to avoid a fight.

Bass is there with her, they're allies here and really Close Friends.

The reason why he's here is because they have a common goal. He doesn't have the Fortenium anymore, lost it against a fight with Zero and basicaly is in a quest to destroy Zero and Willy's scheme. (He used to be Forte, but changed his name sometime after Roll became his ally.)

(He also has another name, Slasher, and it's a disguise name he uses when they can't trust their real identity with third parties. If you don't know why the name Slasher, it's because the comic calls him like this for some reason, lol.)

(Anyway, i didn't draw him, but i will talk about X. He's still a little piece of shit, but at least he doesn't like his sister in the GROSS WAY like in the original.

Let's just say they didn't wait the 30 years for the tests and it shows...

X has the mentality of a 14-16 years old, and when he start to win power, he became a manece, and this forces Roll and Bass to keep a close eye in his shenanigans.)

Feel free to ask about the rewrite by the way! I'm not taking it so serious like other projects i have, after all, this rewrite is just a high effort shitpost by the end of the day, Lol!

I believe that's it. I have other drawings too, some FNAF related and original work, but they're so bad that i will not put here, lol.

This list is going to be long. :') SORRY BUT NOT SORRY. And I'm sure I'll be missing people here.

There are a lot of stories I have started reading in the middle of it and intend to catch up the beginning of them. But I can instantly get hooked on so many stories, as long as someone puts "previous | next" buttons, I'm in danger of falling into a story's universe. (I also have the hardest time to follow everyone but I try to.)

@matchalovertrait (OF COURSE YOU) I still need to catch up before I met sassy toddler Dulce. I can't believe she's a preteen now. I do enjoy following people's legacy challenges and I like how I forget that it's one with how you really create your own storylines around the base requirements.

@ice-creamforbreakfast I'm not going to lie, I came for the CC, I stayed for the BACC challenge and I am now following the Romano legacy.

@gooretrait I really do love following legacy challenges. Also, console player?? It's also a good reminder of all the fun you can get without cc and mods, just very inspiring imagination-wise.

@eurosimmer breaks the fourth wall in her captions and it's hilarious to me. It's also a legacy challenge, but oh boy I forget it everytime.

@pleasanttaleswithkaityb completely changed my way of playing! (and also of sharing content on tumblr) I also have a soft spot for taking townies as a base, because we kind of all know the backstories for them a bit. (I say that and I never played Sims 2, just binge-watched Sims lore videos.) I love how people change their stories.

@ruthplaysthesims Talking about appropriating Sims townies and make them evolve, I LOVE Kaori's story. In TS4 we all know the lore is meh (with it being on supposedly another timeline etc). The Mt. Komorebi storyline is SO interesting, I really have to play in that world someday without ruining them all. And somehow, Ruth made it even more interesting! Like I already wanted to know more about them, now I'm looking for any little bit of detail referencing their childhood or something. Anyway I highly recommend, I love all the new stories she put out as well (Raina 💖)

@kamiiri Back to other Sims lore game, I LOVE Strange! I watched a LP of Sims 2 on PS very recently and somehow found Strange at the same time... The setting, the weaving of all the storylines together, continuing all of them together... I love it. It's also very cinematic I'd say? There's something in those screenshots, I love it.

@holocene-sims One day I saw a notification of them and next thing you know I was trying to read everything about Grant from the start on mobile (but it's hard to read on mobile so I have A LOT to catch up). So now I'm catching up the recent story posts! But as I'm writing this post, I know I have a lot to catch up already.

@cinamun Add it to the list of "I should really read the beginning of it but for now I'll just keep on trying to catch any post they make", Things Fall Apart's universe has really sucked me in and I really like how cinamun interacts with everyone! (I admit I am a lurker but I want to try this lemon pepper wings recipe someday and share them with all the readers.) Reading TFA really gives me the vibes of watching a daily evening TV show with my family: we did not necessarily watch since the beginning, we just one day started watching all together, and now we're eating dinner in front of it every night. (And of course sharing our reactions)

@havenroyals If you like some spice and love messy stuffs, you'll be served. I also really like the Gossip queen edits it's just such an interesting way to add variation to tell stories.

@theroyalsims In the same vein of the Gossip Queen edits, I really like how we follow the story of the royal families with articles about them and not from their direct point of view. (I'm also currently trying to guess who is getting married soon because I know there is a royal wedding soon among those sims.)

OK small pause because we've entered the royal simblrs that I follow. There are a lot, it's how I found the simblr community in the first place. One thing I have to say is that I love all the collabs people do, the way so many stories are interconnected through everyone's sim and I genuinely think it's a lovely community (even if I'm not part of it myself as I'm just a reader).

@sosa-royals is the first royal simblr I came across and read everything. The drama? I LOVED it.

@officalroyalsofpierreland After meeting child Maria Aisha I had to learn more about her family. I was not disappointed.

@funkyllama this inevitably led me to want to learn more about the Ionian Union and I really like the world building in general? Also those last edits? I love it.

@empiredesimparte of course there is the complete Europeansim on my list. I particularly enjoy reading in French sometimes when my mind just wants to rest from reading in English. I also love Hortense and everytime I see a big event in the story I would be like: "oh J'AI LA REF ! It really looks like in real life." (you are very talented at building). And in general, I really recommend the worldbuilding tag? Because I love it?

@anachrosims' @prydainroyals Talking about someone talented at building? Yeah, I still have to catch up from the beginning. But this one should be feasible as it is more recent? (I don't know, you're also a good writer, PLEASE tell me what you can't do.)

@nexility-sims Among stories that are easy to start digging in someone's universe, I would recommend reading 1992. Eventually I'll read the story it's a spin-off of and @/armoricaroyalty's story, but yeah. My list of stories to catch up is already long for now.

@trentonsimblr and @ardeney-sims I'm putting both of them in the same bullet point because I've been wanting to enjoy their stories for a while and only decided to fully commit when Between A Rock and A Hard Place started. Similarly to 1992, it can be enjoyed without having the whole back story but yeah. I'll definitely enjoy reading the back stories of main characters and "side" characters (which you see glimpses of in BRHP).

@thegrimalldis Very similarly to the previous bullet points, I started reading with a "spinoff", the prequel "Maximilian" rather than the main story after seeing the username a lot of times. I have since caught up the main story I believe, but I may have to reread to be sure. I also have to read the story of succession (because it's complete and I like complete stories).

@theroyalthornoliachronicles and if we have to go back in time, I would highly suggest Ali's story! Though I can't wait to see modern Thornolian generations? 👀 Also, I'm a reader from after Ali lost her blog and I would say now is the best time to start reading if you're like me and have a massive TBR pile, since we're at chapter one!

she has said any support for her work is supporting her and her ideals. even if they just interact with fanon its still promoting hp, and supporting her.

they bend over backwards to justify continuing to support the work of a raging bigot and holocaust denier.

and they bring up 'but its my special interest' it was a lot of peoples special interest for a long time. including mine for over 15 years. but then she started to get more vocal with her hatred, and i started noticing her bigotry in her work, and became more educated on it. i eased myself off of it, it's hard, but its possible.

im also trans in the uk. everytime i hear her name it sends a chill through me in fear of what is coming next. a lot of people, especially Americans, don't realize how much power and influence she has here. she is incredibly rich and she is a household name, almost everyone has heard of her

but it shows where their priorities stand. they're all about standing up for the little guy, for promoting the rights of marginalized people, until it's their entertainment on the line. they'd rather keep their comfort thing than do what they're otherwise preaching.

I've definitely been lenient with them, given my own hyperfixation on Stranger Things, which has its own issues, but she's been getting so extremely bad recently that I can't fucking stand it anymore.

When the popularity and monetary support of Harry Potter is something she uses as a defense, something that other transphobes use to levy her name as a battering ram, you have no excuse.

You can so easily keep all that shit offline! Read the books in the privacy of your home! Stop funding her transphobia! Stop willingly allowing her to weaponize your "special interest" to discriminate against a minority group that is being seriously threatened right now! TRANS PEOPLE ARE BEING MURDERED!

Sure, a lot of people have distance and "but I'm American" as a defense for their ignorance- but she's been quoted by a GOP senator while they blocked a vote on an LGBT bill, so no, they don't actually.

And, sure, a lot of people don't think she's actually transphobic- but being ignorant can only last so long before you look like a liar or an idiot. Especially when she's spending £70,000 on challanging "the definition of woman", which seems to me an obvious attempt to delegitimize GRCs (Gender Recognition Certificates).

Just in case there is someone coming across this who doesn't think JK Rowling is actually transphobic, I'd recommend this video that Matt Bernstein made with Contrapoints (which still misses a couple points, but Contrapoints also has a great video on jkr).

I hope you stay safe too. And I am confident that things will change and improve for us in the near future. We are the easy target right now, but it will not stay that way forever.

The transphobes are loud but they are not the popular opinion. We have a community and I know that there will always be people who have our backs while we fight for our safety and freedom. People will listen, and we will move forward.

Hello Haitch how are you? I hope everything is going smoothly.

It's my first time sending an ask to you so I'm kind of nervous. I want to ask for your opinion on something and maybe a piece of motherly or a big sister advice if you can give me one.

So I started university this year and it's been about a month since I moved to another city away from my family. Everything is new and different but thankfully I made some good friends that I can partially lean on.

There is this one boy that I find quite attractive and I think I kind of like him as well( I don't know it's just really early for me to feel this way because it's only been a month since I came here) we met when we were sitting at the cafeteria waiting for the next class to start and chatted a bit. About movies, tv shows and stuff like that and there were some things that we both liked and agreed on (my delulu self trying to correct myself ;)

While talking about another topic he showed us a picture from his highschool and he looked really good and that's when I think I started to catch feelings. We talked a lot that day and he left, after a few days in another class he came to our friendgroup and started to chat with one of my friends about a movie saying that he started it when she had talked about it during that day. And honestly my eyes constantly looked at their direction and I couldn't focus on what my other friend was trying to tell me.

Yesterday while going back to the dorms my friend confessed me that she liked him a little bit and that it was her first time feeling this way. She also added that I was the only one in the friend group whom she told about this and she said that she felt like she could trust me which made me feel really good because it's not everytime you hear that from someone right.

And I couldn't tell her that I liked him a little bit as well, feeling bad that I would ruin her chance at something she wanted to experience. So I just put up a smile and encouraged her that it would work out that she should try to make a move and that they had a lot of things they agree on. We talked a lot about this on our way back and she asked me to help her out which of course my people-pleaser self agreed.

There are still more things that I want to tell but I don't want to make it long. I want to know how I could overcome this or just make it go, like pluck this little bud by the root before it fully blooms as my previous big crushes all started like this.

What would you recommend to someone in this situation?

Oh babe. You've screwed yourself over there, haven't you?

The truth is, you have roughly three choices here:

Be honest with her; say that you held yourself back from telling her that you liked this guy, because you didn't want to ruin her experience, and it was a knee jerk reaction by someone who is used to being a people-pleaser. Tell her that you have, in face, liked this guy for X amount of time, too. Try to have an adult discussion with her; do both of you step away? Do both of you confess to him/pursue him, with the full knowledge that the other is too, and a gracious winner/loser attitude of one of you succeeds and the other doesn't? Only the pair of you can decide.

Continue to see your own happiness as less deserved than that of others, and continue to suffer in silence while your friend falls for the guy you've also fallen for.

Go behind her back/lie to her; still crush on him, and perhaps even pursue him, regardless of what she has told you about her feelings.

You should ask yourself why you think you're less deserving of happiness than your friend.

You should ask yourself why you're so conflict-avoidant, you would rather punch yourself in the face rather than confront a topic which would have been mildly difficult then, but to repair now, may be much more difficult.

While yes, I'm sure you have likely been in a household where you may have either been the diplomat between two parties, and/or used to putting your own feelings aside for the happiness of others and the overall peace of the household, you are out of the house now.

You are growing up. Do you wish to stagnate in this constant state of considering yourself as less deserving than others? In this constant state of doing so much to avoid conflict, that you'll roll over to your detriment at all costs?

I digress.

In the short-term, this is about a guy you're crushing on. In the long-term, this is about growing the spine you need to grow to defend your right to a happy life.
