the dndads brainworms won’t let me go and i’ve been listening to a lot of broadway these past few days while thinking about dndads. a dangerous mix for my emotions. that means i Had to write some fic (marloakworthy you’re canon and real to me)

also i hc hermie as genderfluid. so here’s a thing i wrote on a whim

Makeup is, generally speaking, something that Hermie is more than used to. Stage makeup was always necessary, after all, and so that was what they were used to doing.

It’s also why, when he, Normal, and Scary got ready for their date night, Hermie was thrown for a bit of a loop seeing how she did her makeup.

He watched her relax as she did it, even as she was explaining it to them. She opted for a pink eyeshadow, using some black eyeshadow at the creases of her lids and blending it down to make it all a little darker, giving it an ombré effect. She also started to add extra wings to her eyeliner, smiling as she did. It already looked good, but she liked it.

Hermie admired how she did it to express herself rather than a role.

Neither he or Normal could stop staring at her. She was clearly basking in the attention, but he didn’t care.

Normal was the first to speak up. “…Can you do some for me?”

His eyes were wide, soft, with hope. No doubt an excuse to get close - which Scary probably clocked, by her smile and eye roll.

“Whatever floats your boat, Norm.”

Luckily, she had colors more than black - so Normal’s look was one with some brighter blues and greens, and she gave him some eyeliner too, at his request, with less of a sharp wing than her own. Her hand cradled each of his un-made up cheeks as she worked, and Normal leaned into it.

It was sickeningly cute.

Hermie’s heart leapt in joy, seeing them be so sweet. It was also beating, fast.

He admired them and he wanted to be close to them too, but he knew his heart beating was partially him wanting to be on that makeup chair.

Don’t get him wrong, he’s dedicated to doing the right makeup for his roles…but he doesn’t have one right now, and he still finds that he wants to do some makeup anyways.

Maybe it could help him find who ‘Hermie’ really was.

“What do you think, Hermie??” Normal reaches out to him, grabbing a hand. Hermie holds it in return, planting a kiss on the back of it.

“You’re radiant.” Normal blushes.

As Hermie sets Normal’s hand down, he can’t help but glance down at the makeup still set out on the counter. Some colors catch his eye. He looks to Scary, who he finds is smiling at them. She almost looks away, but Hermie is inclined to ask his question before she does.

“Well well well, we can’t go out on a date together if we’re not all matching. Scary, if you would be so kind…”

Hermie picks up a compacted container of eyeshadow, one that caught his eye earlier. A dark purple.

Scary groans, but is all smiles. Maybe she’s trying to hide it, maybe not, but Hermie can tell she’s more than happy to do it. Especially since she quickly reaches for a tube by the sink.

“You guys are so cute. You need primer first, otherwise it’s gonna stain or it’s not gonna stay. And it’d be suuuuch a tragedy if it didn’t stay.”

Indeed it would be, Scary. Indeed it would.

For how much of a powerhouse Scary has proven herself to be, Hermie understands why Normal leaned so close into her touch.

She’s incredibly gentle as she holds his face. He admires her range.

He also enjoys the feeling of the makeup. The eye primer was cold - but the brush it was blended with was firm, warming it up quickly.

Then there was the eyeshadow. Hermie kept tapping at his knees, in rhythm to the music that was playing softly from Scary’s phone speaker.

He closed his eyes as Scary raised the brush from the compact, covered in purple. He also leaned into the hand on his chin, just a little- he didn’t want to mess up the angle too badly. But he was right across from the mirror, so he couldn’t quite help…

“Wow, you’re really good at this, Scary!” Normal exclaims.

“Yeah, well, it might be easier if you stop trying to open your eyes, Hermie.”

“Sorry, sorry, my dear. Shouldn’t try and get a glance before your masterpiece is complete, I know.”

Normal laughed and Scary huffed at the nickname, her bangs blowing up as she did.

“You’re lucky the eyeshadow is done, but we still need some eyeliner. Close your eyes, you dork.”

Affectionate as could be.

He’s glancing down at the liners she has laid out - there are two. Both are black, but one is liquid and one is a pencil.

Both she and Normal had liquid eyeliner. He wanted to match with them, right?

So he doesn’t quite know why he reaches for the pencil. But he does, and hands it to her. She looks a little surprised, but not opposed.

“Oh, sure.”

“Oooh, good choice, Hermie! I think that’ll look good with the eyeshadow! Y’know, since it’s a bit darker!” Normal points out.

Hermie closes his eyes as he replies, “Of course. As you know, I have impeccable taste in style.”

Scary snorts.

“Oh, how you wound me, Scary.” He responds, leaning into the hand on his cheek.

The pencil felt weird. Not bad, just different. Not quite as smooth, but not bad. Eventually, Scary’s hands left his face.

He opened his eyes to look in the mirror, but Normal turned the swivel chair around before he could.

“Normal, what are you doing?”

“Can’t look at the masterpiece before the artist is done, remember?” He grins.

Hermie sighs, just as Scary - also grinning - is applying some bits of blush to his cheeks. He probably won’t need it tonight, knowing his reactions to his partners doing so much as holding his hand (as much as he tries to hide it), but he doesn’t protest.

She then holds out some tubes to him. Lipstick and lip gloss.

“Want any?”

He’s… he’s only ever worn it for his roles. Only ever red, bright enough to be befitting of The Joker and Poison Ivy.

Looking at the labels on the tubes, there’s one that is bright red. He’s about to reach out to point to it when he sees it - it’s almost second nature.

But before he can gesture to it, Scary pulls them away, looking through them.

“Not all of these would look right with your eyes, though.” She picks through a few of them, Hermie hears her set some down on the counter. Over his shoulder, he sees Normal point to a couple tubes, but he can’t see what colors they are.

“Good eye, Norm.”

They both turn back to him, each holding a tube. Both matte, one of them is a dark blue that almost looks black and the other is a nude pink. It's one he recognizes as a color his co-stars often used in their stage makeup, a shade that wasn't too noticeable.

“Wanna do half and half?” Normal suggests.

“It’d look metal as hell.” Scary points out.

He likes that idea. He really likes that idea. So much that he almost wants to cry. He nods, and immediately looks up just a little bit.

To stop himself from ruining the makeup? So that they don’t see?

Either way, both happen as Normal and Scary each apply a color on his lips at the same time.

“No, wait, stop there Norm-“

“But hear me out, we could also do a different pattern!”

“No, we’re not going to do that.“

Hermie is tempted to laugh, but refrains, so as to not mess anything up. Their bickering makes him feel… comfortable. Content.

At home.

He’s never really known what that felt like. His characters never did, either. So he really has no frame of reference, nothing more than observations of his friends with their families.

But he suspects that this new feeling, of contentment and of his mind Not racing with thoughts and clever lines - just needing to do what he wants rather than live up to some expectation or role -

That might be what home feels like. He's not sure, but it's enough for him.

“Okay, ready for the final reveal??” Normal and Scary both hold one of his hands after they turn the chair to face the mirror.

He opens his eyes.

He looks different. So different.

The eyeshadow and lipstick are darker and give a bit of a shadowed look. The pencil eyeliner makes his eyes look softer than his partners’.

Both of whom are blushing. Normal squeezes his hand.

“You’re so beautiful, Hermie!”

“Like midnight.” Scary whispers.

Beautiful. Like midnight.

Beautiful. Beautiful.

It’s so… feminine. Hermie feels feminine.

He loves it.

Tears are welling up in his eyes, and he tries to look up, but a tear slips down his cheek. His partners swoop in at the same time.

“Oh no- what’s wrong Hermie?” Normal wraps his arms around him.

“Oh shit, what’s wrong? Do you not like it?” Scary squeezes his hand, running a thumb over his wrist.

She doesn’t even care that her hard work is at risk. She just cares about his feelings.

He’s overcome with adoration, at their reactions and at his reflection. It’s why his usual quick wit is completely out of commission, and he can only respond with a few words.

“I love it.”

He gets up and maneuvers around them, to bring them both into a hug. They’re both quick to return the hug, wrapping their arms around him. He can feel their hands link on his back. Normal leans into the crook of Hermie’s shoulder, and Scary’s drawing little circles on his shoulder blades. It’s reassuring, it’s grounding.

They had plans for tonight, but Hermie doesn’t want to let go.

For once in a life riddled with shit luck, Hermie feels like they’ve hit the jackpot.

some days you two just cancel all of your plans and stay at home together, curled up in the bed and simply enjoying each other's presence

likes having his hair played with when he's working

or in general you coming up behind him while he's by his desk and massaging his shoulders or carressing his cheeks... GOD he's in heaven

when he's out for longer or stuck in his office for some time he leaves you one of his white silk gloves or hankerchiefs in your pocket while you're not looking <3 he has a habit of putting essential oils on them so they smell beautifully

not tech savvy but i think he'd learn how to operate a camera just to take cute little pictures of you and keep them :) he would put them in a little locket and carry it around his neck or instead of a pocket watch, keep them as bookmarks in his favourite books or simply tucked in his typewriter so you're always near him

one cute thing about him is that 90% of his body is always cold and that 10% that isn't is his chest. he gets very flustered whenever you joke that it's because his heart can only heat up so much of his body

he's an amazing listener and always by your side - you can tell him everything without fearing he'll get mad or react badly, laugh along with him and confess all your secrets and sins to him

he's a wonderful person and an even more wonderful spouse. milo (MAN I LOVE ORPHEUS!!!!!!!)

girl i’m gonna be honest with you...i was never a nanami girl before i discovered your headcanons (fic) about him. like i didn’t dislike him, he just never really stood out to me, but now i totally see him in a different light 🫶 i love the way you write him! gege should’ve let you write his character because you would’ve done him JUSTICE for sure. i feel like we just didn’t get to see much of who he is as a character. plus, a lot of people mischaracterize him to the point that i’m like “did we watch the same anime?”. but i’m so so so happy i found your blog 😽 my eyes have been opened, doors have been opened, i’ve been enlightened, in fact i think i’m a nanami stan now. you’re out here doing what should’ve been done for this wonderful man all along. 🩵

I think that Gege wrote Nanami's character and his arc with the kind of bleak, stark realism that is very appropriate to who he is. While I wish I could create characters that are so well-conceived, like you, I wish there was more we could see of the characters like Nanami. I wish we could see more interactions, every day life, the little things that add that extra dimension to them.

Since we can't ... we have fanfiction! And I intend to make FULL use of that to continue to try and paint a portrait of this man, even if im just projecting some of my headcanons on him 😂

I originally wrote this HC fic to try to convey my thoughts on what a romance with Nanami would be like, the way he'd fall in love, and the way he might behave when in love. Somewhere along the way, my story took on a life of its own (as they do) and it began to take the form of a small character study as well.

I'm also trying to explore his flaws, his insecurities, the way having the right partner might draw him out of his shell, help him heal, allow him to finally appreciate himself as a wonderful human being through their eyes. A man, not perfect, but a good man who just wanted a simple life in a just world.

I'm so glad you like what I've written and that it's showcased this other potential side to his character. I hope to continue writing work that you enjoy, because that gives me joy 🥰

Yukamitsu sexuality headcanon!

Yo! This is my first time writing about Yukamitsu and its been a while since i wrote a long ass headcanon for characters so if my grammar is not the greatest i hope you don't mind it! i'm trying my best! and its my first time posting a long hc here on tumblr! This took me 2 weeks to do so i hope it doesn't flop ><

Anyways! These are my hc of yukari and mitsuru and how they found out that they are lesbians and in love with each other :3

Yukari

For Yukari she used to identify as bisexual for quite a while in her life as a lot of boys in high school were interested in her always asking her out but she would most likely decline but she does go out with some if she’s interested in them or they caught her eye! She has dated a few of them but some didn’t really end up well or some ended on good terms but weren’t for each other. Yukari also keeps up to trends by picking up on fashion magazines to see what’s the current fashion which she always is in awe and tries it out and she also realizes that she loves the girls on there which made her think “oh wow the girls in this magazine is so cute!” And sooner or later she realizes that maybe she’s into girls too? So she started to research on the web as now she was questioning herself. Is she straight? Bisexual? Or a lesbian? Back in the early 2000’s lgbtq+ wasn’t talked about on the internet but she still figured out what she identified as and at that time she identified as bisexual. 

After that day in school she would have eyes on some of the girls and realizes omg I really do like girls too and she goes up to them and talks to them which some of the girls gets flattered as Yukari is a popular girl in school because of how cute she was and both boys and girls admired her so it was known to her that some girls liked her but were just too afraid to ask her out as they thought Yukari would look at them differently but Yukari doesn’t as she doesn’t judge them for who they identify as so she took the first move and asked some of them out. She wouldn’t lie that the dates she has been with the girls she asked out were actually the best dates she had as they share the same interests with her and they could relate with each other a lot. After these dates she had dated 2 girls, one ended in a heartbreak and the other on good terms which then she took a break from dating for a while as she realized wlw relationships hurt a lot and she needed time healing. 

But that didn’t stop her from liking girls instead she fell harder for girls. She realizes she leans more to girls now and when she locked eyes to the intelligent and elegant red haired girl, Mitsuru Kirijo, she realize that she’s not bisexual anymore, she doesn’t want to date boys anymore she saw herself marrying a woman in the future, living in a beautiful house together, sharing kisses and cuddles with the women she loves, being there for each other when times are hard and spending the rest of her life being in love with the women she chose to be her partner forever. She was super lucky and also a lesbian mess when she joined SEES and shared the same dorm as Mitsuru as she would have to work together with her and the rest of SEES and she was such a hopeless lesbian everytime Mitsuru comes up to talk to her she could feel her heart beating so fast but she has to act normal or Mitsuru would know what’s up but there was one point of time where Yukari was so in love with Mitsuru that when Mitsuru came up to her she felt really blushy which made her face red and Mitsuru realizes and got concerned and though that she was having a fever which lead to Mitsuru placing the back of her hand on yukari’s forehead which was the first time Yukari has felt physical touch from Mitsuru and Yukari fainted. Because she couldn’t take it anymore and when she woke up, Mitsuru was right beside her bedside monitoring her asking if she was alright when she saw Yukari slowly opening her eyes. Yukari felt like this was a dream but it was reality. Mitsuru Kirijo is right beside her right now and they are alone in her room and she wondered if she should ask her out right now or it would take a long time to find the right opportunity again. As much as Yukari was super scared to confess to Mitsuru as she doesn’t know if Mitsuru is interested in girls so she asked her first.

“Hey Mitsuru I know this is weird to ask you right now but I’m just curious… are you by chance interested in girls? I mean if you don’t want to answer it’s totally fine I understand!”  Yukari said nervously and blushed, she felt like she was about to faint again.

“I mean I guess I am? I’ve never really liked boys if I want to be honest with you Takeba, I always felt that I love girls. But just asking why did you ask me that? I’m okay with it, no stress but it was just so sudden of you to ask me that question.” Mitsuru said in a questioning tone, twirling her hair while waiting for a reply from Yukari.

This wasn’t Yukari's first time confessing to a girl. Instead she has done this a few times and she was always the one willing to make the first move but she doesn’t know why she’s so afraid now. Is it because Mitsuru and her have grown to be close friends and doesn’t want to lose this friendship because of a silly crush she had on her? Or was it because she was too scared Mitsuru had high standards when it came to a partner? 

Yukari then sat up and faced Mitsuru with a flustered face. She took mitsuru’s hand and held it which shocked Mitsuru but as soon as she tried to speak, Yukari cut her in

“This might sound silly but for a long time Mitsuru I’ve always liked you more than a friend… wait no, love you more than a friend and I couldn’t hold it any longer and just tell it to you right now. I admire you so much Mitsuru. I adore your beauty, elegance and your personality and I would love to give you all my love. GAHH I’m so sorry I spilled too much… but I really love you Mitsuru." Yukari felt like she was about to explode. This was the most scared and flustered she has been in her life. What if she rejected her? Well she had to face it but if Mitsuru shared the same feelings for her back, she would melt instantly.

Mitsuru was speechless; she didn’t know how to react, what to say or just function in the moment when Yukari just gave her the most heartfelt confession she has ever gotten in her life. Yukari was about to let go Mitsuru’s hand as she thought she had made a mistake but Mitsuru held her hand tighter and not letting her go which jerked Yukari’s head up to face her

“I too share the same feelings for you Yukari… I never really confessed to anyone but I really love you too. I-“ Mitsuru who is now blushing madly and covering her face so to not embarrass herself, cut herself off as she for once didn’t know how to confess her feelings to anyone before but Yukari already knew the answer and embraced her in a hug

“I already know, you love me so much.” Yukari giggled and said it in a silly way but it was the truth, Mitsuru really loved her so much she just didn’t know how to express it until Yukari did first. 

Yukari then held Mitsuru in her arms while Mitsuru melted into hers and snuggled up to Yukari and this was her first time feeling the comfort and love from the woman she loves.

Mitsuru

Mitsuru was never really into boys for her whole life because she’s a busy gal! She had no time for love, always trying to improve herself and be on top of her level as her parents had high expectations from her which made her focused on her goals and being better than before! But ever since she entered high school, she has had more freedom and explored more about herself and who she is as she is growing. Many boys and girls instantly fell in love with her either plantonically or romantically and admire her for being just smart and mature. She has gotten confessions here and there but she turns them down as she doesn’t know what to do and has ZERO experiences with romance and also doesn’t want to get into a relationship as she thinks it will be too much on her or she wouldn’t treat her partner well as she's always so busy studying and dealing stuff in the Kirijo group. 

But as years passed by, she met Yukari who just recently joined SEES. She didn’t know a lot of lower classmen but she has noticed Yukari a couple of times as she stands out a lot from the crowd of 2nd years during school assemblies. I mean she literally wears a pink sweater everyday and no one in school wears one other than her and her hair style and color too stands out a lot. Mitsuru can admit that Yukari is cute and maybe she was her gay awakening… just maybe… she ended up being her gay awakening. Mitsuru never found anyone this cute before until she met her and she felt something weird like butterflies in her stomach as one might say. She went to the library one day and picked up books about romance or how to romance with someone (lol but she's trying!!!) She found out that she relates a lot to the books she picked out and how she actually likes Yukari because GOD she just wants to hold her and call her mine.At first she didn’t talk much to Yukari only about stuff relating to SEES but she slowly opened up and talked more about personal or just stuff out of SEES which was going really well and Mitsuru was happy about that. 

It's not that Mitsuru can’t talk to people she can but in this case, she’s talking to someone who she has a crush on and sometimes she can get nervous and fuck up which is very unusual of her since she’s always confident and normal when she talks with anyone but not with Yukari. It has been a couple of months since they both have grown and gotten closer thanks to also being in SEES together (iykyk) and she doesn’t know how to confess her love to her. But! Her dreams came true, Yukari confessed! (Refer to Yukari’s part to see how the confession goes!) and she was jumping for joy. She has never felt romantic love before and she was glad to experience this for the first time with the person she loved dearly <3

Do you have any early semma hcs ?

so anon, i'm scratchin' my head tryna figure out how to answer this. i feel bad it's been sitting in my inbox for so long. some of these are all over the place. the answer is yes. read more below!

intro/interested pretty quickly so emma really instantly thought, "wow i never met anyone like this guy before." unfortunately for sean, i believe he was just so shocked to even be in town again and still kind of messed up that day in terms of it being overwhelming and rough circumstances. for example, in 1.04 the day leading up to the dance was a blur for him until the dance. between jimmy getting on him, and having his first day at degrassi, finding out i guess at the time he has to repeat the seventh grade, the whole computer debacle and being stressed about that, and people whispering/sean hoping people didn't find out about the fight with tyler that sent him there in the first place, and other factors, it was a lot. emma was watching him, not being a stalker or anything but like he was just trying to get used to things. he transferred like what? october i guess of the school year so he missed 1st day of school and stuff. emma was his first friend at degrassi community who treated him like he mattered and got him out of trouble with raditch when he lost it on jimmy that's canon. after that i headcanon that it was pretty much - she's on his radar. they didn't like become like best friends or anything else whatever until later. maybe mid-way through the term like around the time of caberet did they start like really spending time together or interested in each other beyond casual friends/acquaintances. the crush obviously was mutual. emma i think liked sean as early as give or take - pre-coming of age or a little before that so yeah it fits. so like when i wrote this fic once, emma talked about what generated interest to sean. he was cute probably to her, but also the way that most kids would describe who they are in so many words when asked on the first day at new school. sean turns around and just says in response, "no." that immediately set him apart from his peers. (toby wasn't standing a chance after that.)

2. they BOTH still have the pictures. in fact sean keeps his picture in his wallet. when he was away deployed/staying on bases or whatever he had it either hung up in barracks/platoon wherever he stayed. it's a little bit crinkled and worn and stuff but he did scan it so that he can get it printed on like gloss paper. IT'S A GOOD THING SPIKE TOOK TWO ON HER OBNOXIOUSLY HUGE CAMERA. i like that when cranny went on that date (s2 tmba) she used the camera on them bc she's literally her momma's daughter lol.

3. sean walked emma home after the starlight starbright dance because her flip phone died and she didn't have enough for the payphone in the foyer to call her mom. instead, she remembered her mom told her not to walk home alone. on the walk to emma's he told her where he was from but they didn't really talk much until after parents day and maybe even more over a little later. she liked him around that time. she felt safe that he walked her home after the dance though. spike didn't meet him till later but she mentioned that she wasn't alone for the walk home from school. spike slept easier, but didn't know the person who walked her was a boy.

4. walking home again revisited (likely) a year later like after the wedding in 2.13, spike and snake drove off in their just married car to the airport/honey moon and caitlin stayed for the week behind to look after emma. joey too. sean walked emma home after the wedding and they talked things out/asked her out probably then too officially. he apologized and took accountability/she did too for what happened that last year. of course the conversation was short but they held hands all cutesy and maybe another kiss before she went inside the house. I'm sure it was dark and stuff too so yeah. he called her later to thank her for inviting him, they had fun. craig, sean, emma, and manny ate a lot of wedding cake and food did some dancing beyond slow dances. it was probably the last time their lives weren't complicated.

5. emma visted sean between the time he left after bib over the summer with manny to wasaga for a few day trips emma's life got chaotic once she was with peter and they lost touch. imagine her surprise when he returned a year or so later?! (i find it hard to believe that they hadn't seen each other since s4 i think they talked/maybe over the summer a few day trips when manny or emma got licenses for driving idk if they drove or they took a bus who knows its my world haah)

6. sean's aim (what did they call it for Canada - cim?) screen name is similar to his degrassi handle on degrassidottv lol whocares & emma's is sparklespaz28 or simply sparklespazz bc I'm unoriginal. they talked like however they could occasionally when he was in wasaga he used to visit/frequent internet cafes to keep in touch with friends/emma/ellie but ellie kind of hurt too much to talk to him. emma got too busy to spend much time online but when they did they'd have lengthy aim convos about various things, just not about jay/ravine lmfao of course. even those convos were a little deep which translated later at least i think. she didn't know he was returning bc that was around the time he was moving back and his parents had this old ass computer that barely ran so that's why he would internet cafe. he didn't have internet after he moved to the area again, so he'd either internet cafe in town/phone/text/the computer lab and be able to talk more to them in person instead. it was only when everyone was long distance. i think i read wasaga is 4.5 or so away from Toronto where degrassi is set i think? or a little bit less. it seemed like that anyway when they got out of the car in bib they all looked like we need to stand after sitting this long.

imagine the tension in THAT car ride, let me tell ya.

but yea I'm really not good with big fandoms overall and am usually content with the tiny corner of my own. My last experience with big fandoms, before I switched completely to obscure fandoms, were too unpleasant that I didn't wish to ever repeat it. But I'm more adept with curating what I wanna see now so I won't get put-off or get bored quickly. Tiny fandoms are nice and comfy but they were oftentimes unsustainable for me due to the lack of interactions. Still, I'm so happy to hear my shitposts could actually introduce you to new fixations!

Abt how I get into jjk. Well, unlike any other animes mangas I'm into, I actually have irl friends and coworkers that are fans of jjk. 3 of them are close to me (one of them is my spouse lol) and had literally pestered me to try it for long so they'd have someone to talk with. So I'd known about it since around 2 years ago when the movie came out. I was curious bcs it was such a hype around me even though they were all adults who usually didn't even watch anime so there must be sth different abt it. Yet I kept putting it off cz I was just not into supernatural fantasy shounen. I decided this year would be a good time to start since with season 2 the hype around me was too high that I just got swept in it, naturally. I cudn't tamp down my curiosity any longer plus I got time now during this break so why not, right? The thing is my irl friends arent into simping let alone shipping (at least not that I know in public, who knows what they might be doing in private) so I keep that side here ofc!

From your characterisation of Hob, I had gleaned that he isn't so ingrained in the kind of films that Dream may have been exposed to early on, perhaps Hob may have had an odd feelings with French New Wave, but is tolerant to Varda, and holds a huge respect to the works of Scorsese and his World Cinema Project.

Hi! Wow genuinely a lot of the things you asked aren't things I thought too hard on.

When I say that the endless are classically trained, it's however you see it as!

What I do know is that at least to me (so take all of this with a grain of salt!) the best actors have done classic theater. Actors who have brought life to scripts of old and the most notable is, of course, Shakespeare. You see British actors specifically always have to go through at least one Shakespeare adaptation or play. Similarly, British actors more often than not have done at least one regency era film.

Again, my knowledge on this is hazy and I'm going off what I have observed. I have not thought about what schools they've gone to or institutions they're trained in. I was an acting major but I didn't continue past college. However, Dream probably went to the same schools Tom Sturridge went to irl. So make of that what you will.

In terms of the Hob sundance film, I didn't specifically say That was his shot to fame. It just happened to be one of the notable films he's done in his short career so far! I hope that cleared it up a bit haha

Also yes Hob is pretty much a normie in terms of the film and cinephile community. What he knows of Film is whatever Destiny taught in his lectures. And Hob didn't grow up with the privileges The Endless had, he was a common man. So he watched whatever movies were playing in the old theater in the town where he lived. And not often. He doesn't get psyched up about directors and producers. He just likes what he likes. He's very simple like that.

But what Hob is totally passionate about is literature. He loves novels, short stories, manga, comic books, plays, poems, and even fan fiction! He likes reading, probably more than Dream (and has most likely encountered the books Dream wrote under his pseudonym at one point). Even with his ire for Shakespeare, he's read all his plays. One thing you can always count about Hob is that he's a sponge. When he reads something, he retains it easily. That's why he's also really good at memorizing scripts.

“I’ve been wanting to write about this (well, POST ABOUT THIS) for a while and now that the first chapter of my fancomic has finally been released I think it’s high time I do it! I know I may have spoken a fair bit in the chapter extras at the end but I feel like talking about miscellaneous things, so I’ll ramble about it right here!

WARNING: I LIKE RAMBLING A LOT, SO THIS IS A LOT - AND I MEAN A LOT - of text!

-For those who followed me in twitter, you may be wondering why it’s ‘Genesis of Sin’ and not ‘Sacrament of Penance‘ yet and that’s because originally Sacrament of Penance included this. In fact, all of Genesis of Sin’s chapters were written at the very beginning of Sacrament of Penance, as a flashback! But it was way too long so I decided to separate it and make its own thing.

I mean look at this!

This is kinda intense... (Also wow an early treat to Sacrament of Penance, how exciting! I know I’m not a good writer, but that’s why someone is currently proofreading the pages I’m working on, chapter by chapter!)

Which prompts another question: why don’t I just cut to the chase to Sacrament of Penance?

Unfortunately, some events in the Genesis of Sin get referred back to the Sacrament of Penance so I can’t exactly get rid of it. Additionally, Genesis of Sin explains Magolor’s behaviours (I wrote it as a character study to cement the character!) so there’s that. I’m sorry I promised Sacrament of Penance first...

 Oh! For those who don’t know what Sacrament of Penance is, it’s a fancomic I’m planning to make for Magolor Epilogue! Magolor wakes up alone in another dimension, but for some reason, he’s accompanied by someone- or rather, it’s his own conscience taken form?!

Introducing themselves as Manager Magolor, the dapper gentlemanly conscience follows our mage around as they retrieve the pieces of the apple. Will they be able to find them all before anyone else or will he be hindered by his past mistakes and regrets? Find out once I actually finish this RTDL comic HAHA-

Now for the fun part! The headcanons. I guess I’ll write what I can for now (it’s only been chapter 1, after all!) or maybe reiterate some of ‘em. I HOPE THEY’RE NOT BAD-

On planet Halcandra mages, scientists, and philosophers united to create a flourishing nation. We call these inhabitants the “Ancients”.

 As the Ancients’ knowledge grew, so did their hubris. With the creation of Galactic Nova and the Lor - both considered to be deity-like on their planet, the Ancients believed they could create more experiments of catastrophic measures. What if we could make one of us a god? For the first and final time, they made an attempt to amplify the heroes’ power to unimaginable levels, using a certain crown as the core ingredient. They hoped that doing so would secure their peace.

However, they did not expect the consequences of their foolish experiment - the legendary swordsman lost themselves from the otherworldly, tremendous power they suddenly wielded. The mages of Halcandra managed to contain the hero away, but the incident has proven a fact - those powerful enough will eventually lose themselves and destroy everything in their path (not knowing that this was the consequence of using the crown).

“And if mages were capable of doing such a feat, then eventually...”

This fear of power caused a war within the nation and soon after, the mages and sorcerers were exiled, no longer welcome to their home planet. For those who excelled in magic and science, they were shunned and/or faced worse fates by either faction they were stuck with.

 Cut to a hundred thousand years. Among the mage faction is a mage - a direct descendant of those who managed to seal Galacta Knight away. That man’s name is Hyness. As an honorary leader of sorts, he feels responsible for the suffering of his clan and would do anything to mitigate it.

”Mapopandra” (the planet’s name back then, to instill hope within the people) at this point was just at the cusp of embracing magic engineering once again. Not as close as Halcandra’s amazing inventions, sure, but it was a start. Still, it was generally frowned upon for understandable reasons. In addition to that, Mapopandra - despite the namesake, was quite... “disorderly”. It was normal to have riots within the clan and crimes were quite rampant.

Hoping to find answers to solve their clan’s sorry circumstances, Hyness goes on a journey. During the trip, he finds three children and took them under his care. That could have been the end. The answers he needed- that maybe being alive and nurturing others was enough. However...

After encountering a certain scroll, Hyness’ heart gives in to the pain and hate, planning to summon Void Termina and avenge his clan. He trains his three daughters in the art of combat and becomes the official leader of the mage faction, renaming it Jambandra - to reflect his love for this newfound god. Hyness would begin sacrificing the lives of those who dissented (or those he believed wronged him.) to the Jamba Heart. This especially included people who practiced science...

Hyness, in his crazed goal of awakening Void Termina, would always attempt to break the seal of the Jamba Heart. Luckily, it has not made noticeable effects, due to his lack of information at this point in time. However, it has certainly affected how the spears sealed Void Termina. While Void Termina cannot escape the seal/reform from the Jamba Heart, living beings that come in direct physical contact with the heart are swallowed into it. 

Funnily enough, during all those years of his nation strengthening in numbers and strides in retrieving the rest of the scrolls to summon the void god, their planet of hatred, Halcandra, has been reduced to nothing more but molten rock because of an Ancient’s desire to protect and secure the peace of their home...

 As stated in the comic, Magolor’s parents were both skilled in magic and science... (if there were still around, I bet they’re just as fun-loving people as him, believing in achieving a utopian paradise peace.)

 Jambandra is a militaristic nation. Magolor merely survived because Jambandra believed in strength within numbers and children were quite easy to influence and train (despite society treating him as a social pariah and neglecting him as a result.) 

This is why one of the kids had a Jambandra-like get-up - they’re being raised under so much military/religious(?) propaganda...(eventually they become a foot soldier of Jambandra as seen near the end of the chapter. MMM CHILD SOLDIERS... c...cool...? /s)

 I wrote him stealing and sneaking around to show that his trickster side was gradual and not something Magolor developed out of the blue. He loves pulling pranks I imagine and I can agree - outsmarting people feels pretty cool, not gonna lie!

Despite this, he’s still a youngster, and sometimes his plans backfire (but luckily he’s resourceful and can improvise an escape). Overall, if I can describe my version of Magolor, it would be that he’s determined to see things through- once he has a goal to achieve, he’ll do all that he can to achieve it. Yet, at the same time, he’s too afraid to put all his back into it, - especially after what happened to him. In addition to that, I like to think that he plans rather far ahead - but doesn’t stop to think about the consequences or the possibilities of how it might end. He’s distrustful of people but desires friends. A person who wants to be noticed by somebody but is afraid to be pushed away so he’d rather push them away first. It’s the same for the opposite. If someone desires to be close to him, he’d be anxious about the possibility that their friendship will someday “end”, so he’d still push them away. This would be one of his worst habits - the tendency to overthink or jump to conclusions. Deep inside, all that Magolor wants is someone to care about him for once without feeling like he needs to prove himself to that someone. 

In other words, he really, really believes the only way someone would ever stick around was through some miracle, and/or he was all-powerful and “cool”, capable of doing or being anything! As if they’re perfect for every role, every scenario, every game. I mean, you’d want to be friends with somebody who can do everything right? Somebody who can play any game, right? 

Somebody who can make a fun universe, filled with all the things you want in the world, right?

...You’ll never get tired of me... right?

 I headcanon Magolor as a teenager so during the events of the fancomics (both Genesis of Sin and Sacrament of Penance) save for most of GoS’ first chapter (in which he’s a little babey...), Magolor is a teen! 

(Yeah, I too, wonder what happened to the other kids who’ve grown up... but look at that Jamba Heart to summon Void Termina! It sure looks big by Star Allies’ timeline...wait, where are the other Jambandrans...)

His bizarre equilibrium of zen-like deflection and absolutely folding like origami at the first sign of trouble is truly a sight to behold, especially when it manifests in his works. That moment the Steel Samurai learned how to channel his anger in to concise blows with his spear? Yeah Larry was remembering a time where one of his best buds teased him relentlessly about something. That was genuine anger! 」

⛈️ - Sadness...

    「 Even a ball of sunshine like Larry can get obscured by those rainy clouds. Typically his more substantial sorrow comes when he feels he has not been of great help to Miles or Phoenix; letting them down is like a crushing blow to his soul that drags his whole mood down for a while. Leaving him alone for substantial periods of time can also cause him to become a lot less responsive and more withdrawn for a bit, as that’s the prime time for his mind to go racing and run off on all those tangents about just how damn worthless he can be most of the time. He tends to hide it pretty well, except when pressured about it. 」

😡 - Anger!!

    「 Most of his displays of “anger” tend to just be quick bouts of annoyance, but his TRUE anger looks way scarier. If you try and mess with his friends or his partner, you’re gonna be in for one hot-headed dude. Most of his display will be verbal, but Larry’s not afraid to get in to some fisticuffs if he’s well and truly pissed off or he’s taunted in to it; “fear” pretty much flies out the window when he kicks in to maximum overdrive, and so does common sense. Thankfully his outbursts are easy to curb with some words from those closer to him and they don’t last very long at all, though the downside is that he can REALLY cause a lot more trouble than usual if he’s left unchecked during these rare moments of genuine anger. 」

    「 A LOT makes him happy, but something that he appreciates more than anything is just... spending time with him. Giving him company out of an actual desire to be with him isn’t lost on him at all, and despite how goofy or loud he may be about it, deep down he absolutely appreciates the gesture. He’s so used to being told to piss off or get out of the way that he doesn’t really know how to process being willingly invited around, and the result is this indescribable ball of joy that warms his heart to its core. And a happy Larry means a Larry way more committed to paying back the favor any way he can! 」

i am in love with all the prompts you've made and how all of your writing seems to be so cohesive and in character and just the way that you all put a scene in words is so satisfying to read :')) so i wanted to ask if you have any tips for writing especially in fanfiction? i'm just kind of scared to start writing since some might not agree with my hcs for characters and mc oc might not be to their liking ;(

Ummmmmm wow!? What a beautiful ask! Thank you so much anon :) We definitely work very hard over in @litgwritersroom. It's a lot of work, but ultimately it's a passion project.

Here are some tips from me (personally) in writing fanfiction:

1. Read fanfiction.

Read all of it. Read for different characters. Read different styles. Different people. Read longfics. Read oneshots. This is, without a doubt, the best thing you can do to help yourself get started.

2. Rewrite an ending.

This was the first thing I ever did. One of the first fanfics I ever read was @sparxaf's The Sun In My Eyes, and I fell so deeply in love with the characters. In fact, I read the entire thing in an insomnia-fuelled binge, and when I got up to date, I thought it was the end, and I was so upset I spammed her with comments bawling my eyes out. (It's still a bit of a LOL moment. Honestly. She was quite upset that she'd, quote 'ruined the game for me' - Sorry Christy!)

But a few days later, before I got her response, I opened a word doc, and I rewrote the part that hurt me to make it all happy and fluffy and make all the characters do what I wanted them to do. It wasn't great, and I've (obviously) never shown anyone, but it satisfied an urge in me that I didn't know I had. And it really helped me. It wasn't nearly as overwhelming as it would've been to come up with my own premise, or my own story.

Edit: I don't condone plagiarism!!!! Also this isn't to say I thought my ending was better. Since she's posted more chapters i definitely understand why HRH had to do what she did in terms of character development. I just needed the fluff at that point in my life so I wrote it myself and locked it away in my heart forever to relieve my own anxiety. I think of it as fanfic of her fanfic

3. Write something. Anything.

It can be six words. Five hundred words. 256,304 words (TTIS). Just write something. Just write something down. Even if it's a sentence that you picture your favourite character saying. I have an entire google doc of funny one-liners, metaphors, random thoughts, or activities for my LITG characters. One thing I originally wrote for Bruno, ended up going into a fic I wrote for Tim. An entire six-chapter span from the original work of TTIS might end up going into a Jake fic I've been trying to will myself to write.

Also, do a prompt. Here are some:

r/LITGFanFiction prompt on reddit. I enter most months (except if it's sad, I don't do sad well). The stories can be a maximum of 7,500 words, and you can post them completely anonymously. It's really good practice, and literally anyone can enter. You can ask for feedback on that subreddit as well. Everyone's really nice :)

4. Tell someone when you've written something

It doesn't have to be someone IRL, but you should put it out there.

Put it on AO3! Set up a side blog on Tumblr! Post it on r/LITGFanFiction. Literally anything.

You can definitely write fanfiction just for you. And you should! Your main audience should be you. But me personally? I love, love, love the thought of publishing things. It makes it feel real. Just shout it into the abyss. Put it out there. Tell the universe what you did.

Hi I just feel like I need to ramble and maybe some one else out there feels the same way. So in the AOT I’m not all that big on ships just because shipping really isn’t my thing but I do enjoy it to an extent. I consider myself to be a multi shipper because again the relationships in AOT are so complex and I love all the characters and their dynamics. My biggest “ship” would be Eurihan just because that trio to me is all sorts of fun and I love their dynamic.

But with that being said, I find myself to be drifting farther and farther away from the Eruri aspect just because as I continue to reread the manga and pay attention to the themes of the story canonically speaking I don’t actually see any “romance” between them. The Fannon concepts of Eruri are fun and beautifully tragic with the fan arts and stories especially in modern AU. They are a very attractive couple and I fully understand the hype but canonically speaking I just don’t see it anymore. I love their dynamic as a whole and brings such a complex look to both Levi and Erwins character that their friendship is something to admire.

And with that being said I feel their complexity of characters and their story gets lost within the fandom. I think the term that is used is “shipping goggles” when canon stuff of the original story gets lost or replaced for the sake of the ship. Which in this case I feel happens a lot in Eruri specifically.

Now I really don’t want people to feel I am bashing Eruri. I’m obviously a fan with my own fan art and my interactions with mutuals so please no one take offense. This is just a quirk I have in every fandom when canon material gets lost for the sake of a ship.

Specifically with Levi.

Now I understand my biases consider Levi is my favorite character and I truly Kin him. But when I watch edits or read DJs or even just scrolling through things like tumblr or Twitter I find myself avoiding the Eruri tags because I get so frustrated when all I see if Levi’s entire character being based around Erwin. The concept that Levi is only alive to fulfill Erwins promise or he only fights for Erwin and completely derailing his character to be centered around Erwin is frustrating.

Levi fights for all the scouts since the very beginning. When else first meet him and he promises the dying scout he would eradicate the Titans, this is a shared dream the scouts had and has said he will do what he can for All of them. Not just Erwin.

Now this isn’t to disregard Erwins importance to Levi. Erwin gave him a purpose to live, he was his friend and trusted comrade and felt he was the best for humanity. Erwin is important to Levi no one is saying other wise. He just isn’t the center of Levi’s world.

Levi trusted Erwin because he saw something bigger than himself and Levi wanted to help Erwin get there because Levi himself if a very loving and selfless character. This I find to be so beautiful of Levi’s (and mikasas) character.

When Levi learns the truth behind Erwins actions and his selfish reasons to fight for humanity was for the sake of seeing in the basement really sent Levi into turmoil. (I feel this is WITs fault for not expressing this properly in the anime) this is why he continued to pester and push Erwin to know his motives past the basement, because Levi wanted to believe he was this selfless leader he had been finessed into believing he was (because we can’t forget canonically speaking Erwin is a con man and enjoys gambling which makes him and great leader)

Levi tells Erwin to die so he would continue to go down with the facade he was a selfless leader and to continue to live up to the expectation. Levi accepted this fault of Erwin just as he had accepted the faults of all his comrades and their selfish actions.

Levi was canonically devoted to Erwin, but not in the romantic way.

Erwin also never expressed a “interest” in Levi in that matter outside of their friendship and Levi’s abilities. It also should keep in mind that Erwin was ultimately in love with Marie, and chose not to have a family and a wife (which he actually wanted) to avoid having a widow. We can head cannon all day long about how “he realized in his last moments” or “behind the scenes” or interpreting smart press stories a certain way to fit the narrative but it’s just important to remember the difference between cannon material and your own HCs.

Now I know a lot of people will read this and think “wow a levihan shipper wrote this” and you would be right I also ship levihan as well. And they are also not cannon in a relationship as well but the romantic implications for them specifically cannot be ignored because you don’t like them. Levi and Hange are canonically best friends. They are known as the “abnormals” of the scouts. They know each other the best. Their relationship is so complex it cannot be defined as a friendship. (Even Moblit admits he doesn’t have a bond with Hange like Levi does) and it’s okay if you just see them as friends, and I honestly don’t blame a lot of people who do considering WIT really bit the bullet with missing key Levi and Hange moments to better fit their dynamic (I’ve seen people say they aren’t even good friends and that breaks my heart they are besties )

And honestly why wouldn’t you want to ship levihan? This ship in my opinion is the least problematic with the least controversy to it. It’s comforting and sweet and gives a sense of love and family. It’s literally a best friends-> lovers trope. Their friendship is what makes this ship in my opinion so pure and honestly why I fall in love with it more everyday.

And I know some will say “what about Moblit?” And honestly, it bothers me how much he is used to argue levihan because I ultimately feel his character also gets dumbed down as a default for Hange just for shipping and it bothers me too.

*and honestly guys Hange and Moblit isn’t even that great in a ship since considering Moblit became an anxious alcoholic trying to take care of Hange and Hange would get so caught up with their work they wouldn’t even notice. NOTE: they obviously cared for each other as comrades and Moblit felt Hange was needed for humanities survival and cared for them obviously but just my opinion I don’t see that ship working in my opinion.

But in reality guys, I never saw any of these characters “getting together” because they’re soldiers. Their hearts were dedicated to the cause of saving humanity first so that’s the beauty of AOT and the ambiguity of the characters relationships with one another because ultimately they all have attributes to love and benefit each other. Even with the forest scene and the plane for Levi and Hange, I never expected A “happy ending” for them in the sense of platonic or romantic because that doesn’t fit their canon narratives. Levi was destined to be the last soldier standing and brings the complexity of being the perfect soldier with a human heart.

*though the implication of romantic feelings never being acted on were there because they indeed paralleled with eren and mikasa

Levi’s literally means “attached” he attaches himself to the people he cares about and dedicated his strength and ability to help others gain their hopes and dreams.

Erwin tragically lost his humanity to become the devil for the sake of humanity which ultimately left him fruitless to his venture.

Hange taking on the burden of making the tough decisions and shouldering the weight of the deaths of the soldiers and Erwins legacy left them feeling loss and useless until their sacrifice.

All these characters have such complexity to them, they are all deeper than their fannon ship and should be appreciated and the narrative shouldn’t be shifted for the sake of a ship.

Levi didn’t fight to the end for just Erwin he did it for all of them.

So again, sorry for my rambles and I hope there will be those who read this and understand where I am coming from with this and understand though I will continue to ship all three, it still makes me sad I feel I can’t interact with some without them destroying entire characters for the sake of the ship.

So again love ships not ship wars. That’s the fun part when ships aren’t cannon you can just mix and match whenever you feel like it ❤️❤️
