Aroace Alastor
Tumblr media
Hoo boy here we go- This one might make some people mad at me, so I'll preface by saying I do not want to start a fight and as long as you respect my business, I'll respect yours. But let's get this over with-
First off, I genuinely don't understand how some people can see the Ace-In-The-Hole quote and still believe that Alastor is only intended to be asexual and not also aromantic. Yes, the term Rosie used for purpose of the pun was 'ace', but can we look at the context of that moment before jumping to conclusions?
Rosie, motioning to Charlie: "Oh, who's this you brought with you? Come now, Alastor, she's much too young for you! Oh, I'm just kidding. I know you're an ace in the hole!"
Her original statement implies nothing sexual, only that he's involved in a relationship with Charlie, and she follows it up with why she knows that couldn't be because he's an 'ace in the hole'. I don't think you have to read too far between the lines to see that.
I would also like to say that when Vivienne has spoken about his orientation before, I recall her saying that she didn't want to confirm him being aromantic so that she wouldn't 'ruin anyone's fun', which I just feel like is an odd thing to say if she wasn't already explicitly picturing him as aroace. If she thought he had romantic attraction, why wouldn't she just say that? What fun would that ruin? I also feel like keeping things like this ambiguous just to appease the shippers is a little weird, but I digress-
And to those of you who I know are saying "But aromantic people can be in relationships too!!" *deep inhale* yeah I know. I'm not gonna pretend you're not right about that, but there are also aroace people who have exactly 0 interest in romance or sex at all. This is the part of the post that really is based on how I interpret certain moments, but to me he is absolutely one of those people. I don't really know where people get any vibes of him being interested in that stuff. I have never once looked at him and thought "Yeah I could see him in a romantic relationship with *insert character here*". Even aside from attraction in general, since that's what we'd be talking about at this point anyway, he just seems like the kind of guy who'd rather work and live independently instead of relying on anyone, whether practically or emotionally (which is also probably part of the reason he never joined the Vees, but that's another topic entirely). Hell, I'm pretty sure he's in heavy denial about even developing any kind of care or friendship with the people at the hotel (ie. the episode 8 scene with him and Niffty).
The only ships I see him involved in with people he doesn't hate (so ignoring RadioApple, RadioHusk, and StaticRadio. But to be real, maybe the fact all his main ships are enemies to lovers coded says something about the whole situation, but that's just me-) are Charlastor - which I will not even try to discuss here, people aren't gonna like this post as it is - and RadioRose. Rosie and him would at least be fair, if it weren't for one thing (which is also personal opinion on my end), and I don't know exactly how to word it. I'm tempted to say she has wingwoman vibes? But she knows he's aro, so that's not the right word, but there's vibes of like, she probably did act as a wingwoman before she realized that about him or something.. There's also something about her joking around like "Oh this is the girl? You have a girlfriend and I'm only now meeting her?" is almost giving motherly behavior. Idk man they're just besties to me, I could see them in a QPR though (not that they'd probably label it that way, considering the word queerplatonic is likely just complete gibberish to Alastor lmao).
So to summarize: It feels incredibly likely, if not practically canon, that Alastor was written with aromanticism in mind, even if Vivienne refuses to explicitly state it. Subtext and not-that-subtle implications can say just as much about a character as word of God, especially when that God has explicitly told us why she won't confirm or deny this information. Do I think any of this will stop people from shipping him romantically with literally any other character? No ofc it won't, and that's okay, that's just what fandoms do. I do think there's something to say for the fact the one aroace (or even at the very least asexual) character gets constantly shipped with everyone else in the cast, but this post is long enough I think. The only point of posting this is that I wanted to get information out there in one post to say "Hey, let's look a little bit past the surface for a second before saying there's no proof of him being aromantic"
Anyway, thanks for reading, I hope you at least took something away from this

Another little drabble- this time radioapple. Again the only warning is language. I think I do better leaning into angst or comedy, not in the middle, so I’ll have to work on that lmao
——
Lucifer couldn’t remember the last time he felt this kind of happiness. The warmth made his limbs buzz as he smiled wistfully, watching from the top of the main staircase as Charlie spoke her piece to the current residents of her hotel. He was so damn proud of her. His baby girl, all grown up and changing the once inevitable outcome for these wayward sinners.
His eyes drooped thoughtfully, letting his sharp chin rest on the backs of his clasped hands as he leaned against the railing. She was so much like her mother - strong and passionate - and he was thankful that Charlie hadn’t taken after him as much. Depressed and hopeless? He could never forgive himself if Charlie had grown up to be anything like him.
“She has your charm, your highness.”
Something about the static of the radio demon’s voice was always so unsettling. Lucifer lifted his head, lips curled into a snarl at the interruption of his inner musings, “Charm? Hardly - she owes that to Lilith.”
Alastor tutted, turning his head to look at Lucifer with that Cheshire smile plastered on his face as always, “Nonsense, good sir. She rouses the attention of the hotel patrons with the same hopelessly dreamy look that you had on your face as you watched her perform.”
Lucifer waved his hand dismissively, standing up straight as he began to move past Alastor towards the hall that led to their bedrooms, “Nah - I have no dreams. Not anymore.”
Alastor made an amused sound before turning on his foot to follow the small king of hell, “Dear sir, do you not dream to make Charlie’s dreams come true?”
The blonde made a quick glance over his shoulder at the red man, “No - Charlie doesn’t need me to do that for her.” Alastor was creepy, he decided. Tall, thin, and unexpectable - he reminded Lucifer of the boogeyman stories that he would occasionally hear when he visited the surface world.
Alastor moved to walk in tandem with Lucifer - though one step for him was the equivalent of three for the shorter man, “I don’t mean to be rude, your highness, but you’re not here to simply watch and not contribute to dear Charlie’s cause.”
Lucifer stopped, tapping his fingers impatiently on his arm after crossing them, “Did you need something? I don’t remember becoming your buddy.”
Alastor stopped and turned to face Lucifer, his own fingers drumming against the cool metal of his microphone staff, “Need? Heavens no, sir.” His permanent grin seemed to widen, “If we are not “buddies” then what would you call us, hmm?”
Lucifer mused at the comment, considering his options, “Well, what would you call two father figures who can’t stand each others company?” It pained him to admit it out loud, but he knew that Alastor looked over and protected his daughter and he wasn’t going to discount that just because he couldn’t stand the radio demon.
“Ah, I do love a riddle.” He tapped his lips thoughtfully with a thin finger, “It almost sounds like a poorly written romance novel.”
Lucifer laughed until he fully comprehended the words just spoken, “Sorry, what?” He stuttered a bit, already red cheeks darkening, “Could you repeat that?”
The static in Alastor’s laugh made his fingers tingle, “Our favorite spider keeps leaving his sinful novels laying around - the enemies to lovers seems to be painfully common. I jest, of course, I would sooner join up with the Vees than I would become your lover.” He wiped his monocle off on his dress shirt before looking at Lucifer, eyes narrowing, “Disappointed, sir?”
“N-no, I just- and you-“ the shorter man choked on his words, unable to form a coherent string of words until Alastor laughed again and he managed a, “Fuck off” before resuming his walk to his room - more brisk this time than previously.
Alastor’s grin widened as he watched Lucifer walk down the hall, his laugh echoing off the walls as he took pleasure in the confused torture in the king’s walk, “See you at dinner, your majesty.”

Alastor has a contract with Lilith (fan theory)
They literally disappeared in the same time lmao
We already know Alastor has a contract with somebody - somebody that has to be more powerful than him, and for what we know he is one of the most powerful demons in hell (lucifur didn’t even knew him, plus he does not care so he’s out of question).
Tumblr media
3.Alastor has a contract with somebody out of hell then - but a contract with angels wouldn’t make sense. Lilith is pretty safe answer, as she is the og Queen of hell.
Next question would be why did Lilith let Alastor come back to hell to start shit?
We have a few options:
It has to do with her contract with heaven, so she could chill at the beach for whatever reason - this theory sounds weird to me however, couse if they disappeared at the same time its safe to assume the deal started when they went away. Or rather -that’s when she came to collect the price for Alastors power. In that case it had to be something else that let Alastor get away.
She just let alastor get away couse she didnt need him anymore - she gave him big power (or enhanced it) for exchange of something (alastor’s soul? So he would do whatever she wanted from him?). But why would he need him on her vacations? Idk to be honest.
She told him to take care of charlie - from the pilot we know that the first time we see Alastor he is watching Charlie. He later says he wants to company her passion and see sinners fail but that explanation made little sense to me (even if this theory is not true, i hope it will be explained better later on). He treats her much kinder than the rest of demons. Is it because he really does see her as his daughter? Is it because he wants to accompany her on her way to becoming the Queen of hell? Or maybe he has some ulterior reason?
Tumblr media
Why would Lilith need him on her little getaway?
He also said that he is still looking for the back door in the contract - meaning that his coming back really did have to be accepted by Lilith. Or maybe his deal works like Angel Dust’s? Maybe it has some restrictions, but he can do what he wants the rest of the time?
It clearly “clips back his wings” limits his power. How much power exactly did he get? Does he refers to the time before he disappeared? Was that his full power? He almost died because of Adam but he managed to overpower most of the overlords(including Zestial, which we should probably get into in another blog)?
We can also see that his true power is his radio microphone (and it’s extra cute to know that he trusted Charlie enough to lend it to her, stripping himself from his power, or rather - lending her it). Was that his gift from the contract? Would he be able to cast spells without it if the deal was to be broken? Or was it the tool that allowed him to come back? - but then, again - i highly doubt he got away from his owner on his own, as he is still looking for the back door, i think it would be mentioned otherwise.
Tumblr media
I think maybe Vox may be tied to his disappearance, as i think Alastor stepped back not long after he declined joining the Vees. Vox’s feelings still look to be fresh, and i think if it happened long before Alastor disappeared, we would have no “stayed gone” somg as it looks pretty intense - and Alastor drops the bomb that he turned vox down, which is think he would make clear the first time Vox started going after him. I think after Alastor disappeared Vox was just like “out of sight, out of mind” and didn’t even mention him on his tv shows.
But idk.

Valentino is going to do something stupid and try something with Roo?
I don't want to say that's the definitive plan, but it is something I'm thinking about. It would give me a change to explore the inter-personal relationship between the Vees at the very least
mostly my idea that Velvette is the smartest of them, in terms of, like, common sense and awareness of consequences where Vox and Valentino are... not. Vox is, quite obviously in text, more aware than Val(in his immediate re-direction of Val in episode two, he's clearly aware of consequences in relation to their image at the very least)
but we see in Stayed Gone that he's far too eager to try and put Alastor in his place - completely unprompted, mid you - only to be completely thrashed by him. Potential consequences fly right out of his mind when he's properly provoked, which we have seen Valentino is capable of.
Velvette we haven't seen as much of - at least not interacting with Vox or Val - but she comes accross as a tad more rational. Sure, she gets into a spat with Carmilla, but she ends it before pushing it to dangerous levels. She clearly knows when she's outclassed - either Carmilla is more powerful than her(most likely) or she's aware that if she gets into a fight with her, at least one other powerful overlord will back Carmilla up. Or both. Either way, she's not foolish enough to push her limits.
She clearly likes Val and Vox, she wouldn't have joined up with them if not. She's the youngest of them and, as a result, the weakest. I don't think any of them could be Overlords on their own, but Velvette especially is too young to have made that rise alone(Alastor, as we know, is a very special case and his rapid rise is still a mystery). There's a protection she gets while working with them.
Which is why I am considering this idea. The idea being, Valentino manipulating Vox's desire for more and more power, playing to his ego(surely if anyone can find a way to control/harness Roo's power, it's Vox!) to get him on board with whatever the plan ends up being. The end-goal being domination, obviously. Ever easier with both Lucifer and Carmilla gone, and Alastor once again vanished, there really is nothing stopping them and with Roo's power, they could have all seven rings under their control.
Velvette, who died I think in the mid 00's to 2010's?? is from a generation that has known nothing but the wholesale destruction of their dreams(as a millennial, this is my general life experience lmao). Promises made, but not followed through on, leaving them worse off than their parents for the first time in modern memory. She's got enough experience to know when to stick with someone, and when to abandon ship. And seeing Val and Vox making plans to mess with something that killed the fucking Lucifer Morningstar?? Yeah, she's not getting involved with that madness.
