HEADCANON - Zoro / Romantic Feelings

One of the reasons why Tashigi would have trouble confessing to Zoro in the long run isn't that he's a pirate or that her pride is in the way. It's the fear of being mocked and looked down upon.

Let's face it, Zoro can be somewhat of a bully sometimes and while he doesn't mean it, a lot of what he says effects Tashigi. Hell, she changed her whole appearance because she didn't want to look like his old friend, because that whole thing brings up the fact that Zoro wished she didn't exist at all back two years ago and being called a copycat which still hurts her to this day.

Just the way her words hurt him, Zoro's words hurt Tashigi. It's like a double edge sword, sorry not sorry for the pun here. In a SBS, Oda did confirm her feelings about the pirate hunter in a subtle way. It's there but it's more like a slow burn that's going to take years for all of her walls to be broken.

Maybe it's why she's more open to others, including Sanji, because she knows there isn't going to be any mockery, teasing, or telling her she's weak for having even emotions like that. In all, she's afraid to look like an idiot in front of him, well, more than usual. She's really fragile at heart and doesn't take lightly to mockery and will probably get angry / cry. Zoro would probably have to tell her it was a joke or she would take it to her grave.

Although, she does give him battle support, being that she will always have his back during fights. If he lets her do her own thing that is. Even in World Seeker DLC, they are seen to be working together well in battle.

Headcanon; Why Tashigi can hear the swords crying and her connection to them.

Her rare skill, the Voice of All Things: SWORDS.

Explanation:

The Voice of All Things, Sword Edition, is a mysterious and incredibly rare ability that allows the user communicate with objects in the world around them without the need for a physical message, such as speech or writing. The messages that come from objects appear to be completely inaudible to anyone who cannot hear the Voice. So far, only a minuscule number of people in the world have been shown to posses the ability to hear the Voice.

It does not appear as though the Voice is a universal trait among every single object and species in the world; everything that has been seen communicating using the Voice has been with an high level intellect or the Poneglyphs. Tashigi shares the Voice of All Things ability with Luffy, Roger, Oden, Momonosuke, Pudding, Onimaru ( somewhat has the ability ), and Zoro ( somewhat has this ability ) but they possess different editions and variations that aren't her special one.

Some people who can use the Voice of All Things have displayed other telepathic abilities; such as sending out messages back to the entity they hear, as well as to fellow Voice hearers and other people who cannot hear the Voice. These instances are significantly different from previous applications and are unconfirmed to be a part of the Voice, but they do display essentially the same elements and effect. This is how Zoro is able to detect her presence when not even in the same vincinity.

𝐒𝐋𝐄𝐄𝐏 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐄

type of bed: A canopy with pink and purple accents woven in. It was gifted from the men of G5 for one of her birthdays and also celebrating her rank from sergeant to captain. She really hates it but functionally, the canopy and curtains keep the bed warmer, and screen it from light and sight. The canopy bed came to be from a concern for her well being and privacy, since she's the only woman in the base.

number of blankets: A knitted one that comes from her past. Yes, it's screams emo Dracula vibes and has a shape of a cross next to a giant Yoru picture but it reminds her of her second home of living in Kuraigana island.

number of pillows: Too many to count. Some are animal shaped like penguins, rabbits, geckos and foxes. The men of G5 keeps buying her them, claiming her to be a princess. But she rather be the pea, because Tashigi cannot sleep with her sinking into the bed, like it's going to swallow her up every night.

type of clothing: Athletic sportswear tank top and gray to light gray sweatpants that have words on the sides of them. She is the most comfy and relaxed while sleeping and doesn't have any hair ties so it goes down past her shoulders and there are no glasses in sight.

does it matter where they sleep?: She can't sleep if there is a lot of noise. Being on decks and other public places really stresses her out normally so it's uped to eleven when she is trying to sleep and is less guarded.

what do they do if they cannot fall asleep?: She goes out and trains her swordwomanship. Why waste time panicking if you can use that hour or two productively. Also exercise is a good way to make someone tired if they do it long enough. She has to be careful not to pass out while not in her room though since Tashigi has done that several times before.

frequent dreams, nightmares: Good dreams are when she obtains the Wado Ichimonji and finally beats Zoro or that he takes her seriously and ends her. 99 percent of nightmares are Zoro focused. Mostly of him dying before she herself can be the one to kill him. Others are that her shirt pops open and everyone can see her chest. She's really self conscience so any outfit malfunction is very nightmarish to Tashigi.

deep slumber or naps: Mostly naps. Her job doesn't allow too much sleep as they are always in high alert. Their duty to hunt down pirates is somewhat of a 24/7 job as the offending parties don't really rest and neither does justice.

when do they sleep: They will sleep when they are dead.....or if someone forces her to take a day off to catch up. She spends the whole day in bed and doesn't get up unless Tashigi needs a bathroom break. Is totally starving on the next and can eat about most anything, she's that hungry.

what could wake them up: Someone trying to take her swords. They are more valuable than her own life. You mess with the blades, they are going right through anyone that dares touch them without her permission. Otherwise: Roronoa Zoro :3

PIRATE TASHIGI HEADCANONS and INFORMATION

Not a captain by any means but doesn't join a crew either.

Somewhere down her path, she didn't join the marines and instead wanted to look for swords without being tied down to the navy and it's rules.

Still fights with honor and loves justice. Just not the way the people in the WG define the word.

If she did make a crew, they would be named the MEITO pirates because of her love of swords.

Her bounty would be decent enough but no too high and her method of attacking is swords, speed techniques, and Haki.

On her crew, she would be also be the singer as her voice is really good. She mostly sings about swords, coffee and justice though.

Her appearance would be ridiculous like in the Stampede movie but she also sports many swords upon her back and calls herself the 'sword liberator'.

IF SOMEHOW SHE JOINED the STRAW HATS HEADCANONS

In all, she would be reluctant to join but would be willing to come into the crew if Smoker or someone else from the navy joined as well.

She would be the crew's appraisal, knowing how much each and every treasure's value they came across and also would know about any swords they so happen to obtain. Tashigi fights with Zoro over who keeps what sword. lol.

Or she could be the crew's singer, since Brook is only the musician, which has a broader range than just singing.

She gets swept up in dumbs things more than Nami and Robin do when things are either relaxed or a certain captain is bored.

Tashigi is on duty to help the devil fruit users if they fall into water. Although, sometimes she herself needs help because of her clumsiness.

She trains with Brook since they both have the same blade techniques. Tashigi gets annoyed at Brook's questions and sometimes can be seen getting a little upset at the skeleton.

The crewmates that Tashigi gets along with the most are Luffy, Nami, Sanji, Chopper, Franky, and Jinbei. She rarely even goes up in the crow's nest because Zoro is usually there. With Robin, Tashigi still has some unsettled feelings about when the woman was part of the Baroque Works.

However, she goes with Zoro to get things for the ship mainly because she knows he gets lost easily and he will actually let her carry bags instead of Sanji who always insists on carrying them for her. Tashigi likes not getting pampered so when gruff Zoro tells her to carry her own damn bags, she's actually happy.

She happily eats cotton candy with Chopper and Tashigi is the only one on the ship that is allowed to drink coffee. She finds out when Luffy accidently gets his hands on one of her cups for the reason why that is.

Tashigi never steps into the kitchen unless it's time to eat or something. Plus, the more she stays away the better for everyone involved, much to Sanji's chagrin.

She takes her baths separately from Nami and Robin, mainly because of her body issues as in it's covered heavily with scars and hates when people stare at them, even if it's just the two girls.

Her bounty poster is the same as above, giving her the nickname, the 'sword liberator'. Zoro teases her about it, giving that one of his names for her still is 'sword nerd'.

She battles opponents that aren't too strong but aren't too weak either. Uses Yamaoroshi more as the sword is more powerful than Shigure but manages to use all three of her swords equally. And her signature move is Senbonzakura, just like in the Pirate Warriors game.

Oh, forgot to mention that Luffy calls 'Shigure' 'Skiing'. Of course, no Luffy has to follow this but I think it would be cute. A lot better one than what the captain calls Wado. lol

HEADCANON- AFFECTION

Tashigi is the meme from 30 Rock of the broom being used to comfort someone crying on the ground. All kidding aside, she's not one for affection. The closest thing that comes to mind is putting her hand on someone's shoulder. As in a pep talk sort of way. Playfully punches people too. Rolling her eyes playfully can also be a source of endearment but only a few know her well enough to know what that non-verbal cue means.

She's more inclined to do someone's laundry if their clothes are stained or makes sure they don't have holes in them. Or buying practical things for anyone in particular and those who like a certain food like Chopper's love of cotton candy ( which she shares ). Still, if Tashigi shows you her scars on her hands without being prompted or forced, that's a sign that she trusts you. As the marine is very insecure of her body for the most part. Being told scars were ugly in all her life has placed a sort of stigma on her and no amount of compliments and praise is going to change that. It's something people had to live with if being around in her presence. If she lets you see them, you've gathered her trust not to belittle or mock her in anyway possible.

Tashigi does give out hugs out to children of Punk Hazard and Chopper, but those are the exception. She also pets people's head like Sanji's sometimes when no one is looking because Tashigi is very empathetic to his backstory ( when he tells her of course before that it's because he makes puppy dog eyes at Tashigi lol ). While Tashigi does squawk and squirm, she is known not to hit people when they are sleeping so it's possible to have her as a cuddle buddy. Just be prepared for a thrashing when that other person wakes up.

She does however have your back in a fight and that in itself is a twisted version of her affection. If she fights tooth and nail for you, it's because you're important enough in her life to care. Tashigi also is supportive in fights as well. Did a cool move to an enemy? She's your hype girl. The marine also gives out smiles when being genuinely praised on her fights and strength so that's also a plus when wanting to get on her good side.

so I’ve seen you say this twice but can I ask for your take on the theory that Mihawk is Tashigi’s father?

At this point it's mere speculation. There were a few stories on other sites where the dynamic was explored but for the most part, it's just a crack theory and nothing else. Same with her might being Denjiro's relative because before Kyoshiro had his new name, his older appearance before the transformation into what he looks like now resembles Kuina's father ( forgive me for forgetting it since I really don't care about the dude at all since he was an ass to his daughter ). And people were speculating about Zoro's heritage being linked to someone famous and Oda himself retconned Shanks in having a kid all along, and the fact that Tashigi herself is a complete mystery at points. Oda doesn't even know when she joined the marines as it says '???' on her Vivre card.

Speaking of marines, Mihawk used to chase them down until he became a warlord, which makes me wonder why he did so, and not just because he wanted to hunt pirates instead of marines, because after being a warlord, he goes back to hunting marines and joins the Cross Guild. Having her as a bargaining chip could had led to him reluctantly joining the WG. Also he speaks a line to Zoro I think and it's paraphrased as ' A sword without grace is no strong sword' and Tashigi has grace when using a sword before she trips of course. Even her style of attacks aka Gentle Blade uses more techniques and grace than say Zoro's style which is Strength Blade. Tashigi also carries a lot of ridicule for picking up the sword throughout her life and I am sure if her father was the greatest swordsman in the world, that's probably where that could stem from as everyone can see how Mihawk looks down on certain individuals trying to challenge him. He even mocks Zoro sometimes during their duel.

Also they share the same hair color, despite Tashigi having a few blue highlights in her roots, he's old enough to be her dad and that having Mihawk as her father would be really funny and ironic. I know those are not good reasons but like I said, it's basically a crack theory at this point in time. Honestly, I don't think we will get anything remotely more about Tashigi unless Oda adds her to the Straw Hats story trying to rescue Vegapunk because she still needs the scientist to help cure the Punk Hazard kids. Or that she helps Garp rescue Koby. Who knows at this point.

Shodai Kitetsu ( Supreme Grade ) Headcanons

Tashigi stumbled accidently upon the sword by being shipwrecked at an island near Kuraigana during a mission and found Shodai somewhere in the middle of the place. She was rescued by Smoker and G5 later and brought the sword with her.

She doesn't believe in cursed swords, even though when Tashigi finds out that the sword is a Kitetsu, she's a little hesitant but remembers that luck is part of the key of taming it. Also, Shodai, like Sandai, probably hasn't seen any action or master really for years so the sword is not as picky as it once was when the sword was forged a long time ago.

Tashigi also seems to not fear death and all but welcomes it due to her heavily beliefs in the way of the swordsperson. Also, she loves swords a whole lot and tells Shodai the same thing. The only time she really gets influenced by the sword is when someone breaks or destroys the meito, in which Tashigi did harm Shuu that broke Yubashiri before obtaining this sword, but that doesn't happen too often.

Also Tashigi's luck is incredibly high as she has yet to die from falling down stairs, even in the anime where she almost perished due to the events of examining Kashu and then being called by Smoker to hurry up, resulting in almost losing her head to the blade being mere inches from her face.

Shodai also knows that the woman is probably going to die with her dream so why not help her along but is also amused by the fact that there are women out there that want to use swords for battle and fighting opponents. Plus, the sword wants to crossblades with Nidai and Sandai and the only way to do that is follow this woman for now.

The sword also, much to Tashigi's dismay, thinks that this woman was beautiful so it's not all that bad. Also a bit possessive but hey, it's a cursed sword. Give it a break.

Just a little reminder going forward, Tashigi does not believe in using poison. It's the coward's way out for killing someone. She does not promote that, ever.

Hmmm. I really don't know who that would be. I know Gion looks a lot like Tashigi and shares some traits with her as well. She's a master swordswoman and her nickname is Momousagi, in which translates into pink rabbit. Mihawk does call a lot of people 'rabbits'.

It would kind of fit the whole pirate / marine dynamic going on, as that concept is really interesting to see. Maybe Gion got custody and raised Tashigi in the marines somehow? Who knows at this point. The Tashigi is Mihawk's Daughter Theory is just that, a theory.

ZoTash ( Zoro x Tashigi ) fankids, part 1

Face Claim: Kurogane from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. Name: Roronoa 'Dracule' Kurogane (黒鋼, "Black Steel"). Hair color: Black with Dark Blue lowlights. Eye color: Dark Brown / Dark Red. Mother: Dracule Tashigi. Father: Roronoa Zoro. Siblings: Dracule 'Roronoa' Shirogane [ 白鋼 "White Steel" ] ( sister, twin ). Grandfather: Dracule Mihawk

Kurogane bears a striking resemblance to both his mother and father but also has ties to both Ryuma ( Zoro's ancestor ) and Dracule Mihawk ( Tashigi's father, hence his middle name ). His hair is complicatedly spiked up and gets called 'porcupine' or 'hedgehog', the same tradition his Mosshead of a father gets.

He is slightly tanned, and is very tall for his age. He carries around a katana named "Ginryū" (銀竜, meaning "Silver Dragon", another tie in towards his ancestor Ryuma ). The sword curses him such that whenever he kills someone needlessly, he will grow weaker so that he discovers what true strength is.

Kurogane is serious and extremely perceptive, being able to quickly discern anyone's fighting ability as well as someone's true nature and fighting capabilities. While he seems rather irreverent, he is also very loyal, especially to his family. He is likely the most experienced fighter in the group and wiser than he appears.

He always agrees to be a sword fighting teacher, presenting anyone with the same philosophy he believes in: a sword is used to cut only when needed and not used to cut anything if it is not necessary. While serious, Kurogane is very easily irked by others just like his father. However abrasive and ruthless Kurogane may seem, he has a compassionate nature and a desire to protect. His own statement is that "If someone wants to take away the ones I want to protect, I'll kill them too."

He obtained a new sword during a trip with his mother called the Sōhi (Blue Ice). Kurogane shows much more inner compassion from his actions as he grows older. Never call him just Kuro, as he hates being called someone else because he doesn't want to be seen as a copycat. Kurogane is an energetic and outgoing child who never wants to disappoint his mother and wants to be just like his father.

Under his supervision, Kurogane was trained in the use of the katana and also learned his father's special technique, Three-Sword Style, which later on becomes his trademark. His ambition is to become stronger, not for the sake of being strong, but so he could use his strength to protect the people and his family.

Until she is announced, Tashigi's live action face claim will be Karen Fukuhara, noted to play Katana in Suicide Squad. She knows action stunts and the like, knowing how to use a sword and all.

1 . Tashigi tries all of the spicy food Ace sets in front of her. Doesn't matter if it's Ghost Pepper or some of those really red hot candies that he has from time to time. The marine at least gives it a try and Ace thinks she's really dumb in trying things that make Tashigi pass out but appreciates that someone helps him test things he can't taste anymore because of his devil fruit.

2 . They are both bad at taking compliments and will get into arguments about them, usually in a 'no, u' sense. Still, they are very confused on why the other person doesn't consider themselves attractive. But they are somewhat relieved to find someone who has that type of self esteem issues and somewhat understand where the other is coming from. Makes their bond stronger in a sense.

What Sort of Beautiful are You ?

Your favorite sweater

You picked it up at a thrift store at some point. 100% wool, air dry only. It smells like old closets and dusty, far off places. Comforting and warm, it's seen a fair few tears wiped away with the sleeves. One sleeve is fraying a bit on the hem, where some previous owner kneaded it between their fingers over and over. Timeless and comforting.
