5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Ah. It's complicated. During the last year I only had comments like "Please finish this!" and no, most of the times I don't respond to them. While I LOVE comments and use them to motivate myself to get back to writing, I find comments that don't even say why someone would like me to continue a store utterly unhelpful. Also there's my beloved ADHD brain, which makes me forget to answer sometimes. I will though, even if it's like stupidly late.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

*chuckles* Well, I wrote this fic with Bernie's thoughts while she's dying under the rubble after they killed her in an explosion off screen. Lucky for most of you preferring a happy ending to your angst, I did not publish it. Instead I rewrote it to become a chapter for my collaboration with the lovely @ktlsyrtis

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I feel like all my fics have a happy ending. I love a bit of angst, but seriously life is bad enough without giving your favs a happy ending after putting them through the mangler.

8. Do you get hate on fic?

Huh. If so, it apparently was too irrelevant to remember.

9. Do you write smut?

Yes, I do. And I honestly love to connect them via smut with feelings.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I do love a good film au. I have dozens of ideas what films to cast them for and I've only written two so far, with another three sitting in my WIP folder.

My crossover ideas aren't that crazy actually, but maybe

the slow appraisal of silent things

might fall into the category, because why not mash up Lynley and my love for Berena, replace the old Helen with Catherine's Helen, and have her leave Lynley (as one should do), to fall in love with Jemma's Grace Finegann (who did not shoot anyone).

Others might say that it was absolutely crazy to write my first Berena fic, which is also a crossover, without ever having watched a single episode of Holby.

I don't think so.

Not to my knowledge.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes! I wrote

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but probably won’t?

Nope. Not going there. All my WIPs have a chance to being finished. It took me almost three years to finish Notting Hill. I might get inspired on something that's been sitting in my drafts for longer. Who knows - certainly not me. I won't give up though!

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'd say dialogue with feelings and with smut also showing without spelling things out in detail.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Commas and formatting. *chuckles* Apologies to all the lovely people who ever beta'd for me. I appreciate you so, sooo much.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I could have them speak German and Italian and would, if I found it necessary. I prefer to have a translation in the notes at least while reading fic.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Ah. Something wlw that I'm not looking back to.

Bernie Wolfe x Serena Campbell (Holby City)

Summary:

After moving back to Holby, divorcing her husband and working odd hours, Bernie feels incredibly lonely in the time between Christmas and the New Year. She decides to take some time off to find herself and have fun...

As she goes out to a gay club one night, Bernie gets more than she had expected, but she definitely isn't complaining!

Stats: 3k words, rated E, no warnings

BBC Comedy confirms there will be one more Ghosts Christmas special

There'll be one more visit to Button House in 2023

Having confirmed earlier this year that the much-loved comedy Ghosts would be coming to an end after the upcoming fifth and final series, the team behind the show have today announced that there will in fact be a Christmas special.

The Ghosts team posted on social media: “The final series of Ghosts starts on Friday... but there might be one last present under the Christmas tree this year #BBCGhosts”

Ghosts has become a television highlight of the Christmas period with 2022’s special securing 5.9 million viewers, making it the biggest comedy of the year.

Last year’s Christmas special was warmly received:

Steve Bennett, Chortle – “This adorable comedy has quickly become a Christmas staple.”

Carol Midgley, The Times – “That the former Horrible Histories team continues to make something genuinely funny that appeals equally to adults and children in this era signifies a truly rare skill.”

David Craig, Radio Times – “Ghosts is still among the most purely fun shows on British television, but this year's festive episode packs a heavy punch by acknowledging the utter tragedy in its premise.”

Recent fics are Berena (holby City) and all creatures great and small (2020 version).

Previous fandoms include Ted lasso, doctor who, the durrells and cabin pressure.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Cherry cake (Ted lasso, Ted x trent)

But that's what happens (doctor who, thasmin)

Observations of trent crimm (the independent) (Ted lasso, Ted x Rebecca)

Rocket ships and shooting stars (Ted lasso, Ted x trent).

These definitely show which the biggest fandom is, rather than my best work. Who would have thought Ted x trent would blow up like it did!

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes, though sometimes very late. I appreciate the comments I get so I want to show that!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

In her dreams (holby City, berena) which when I wrote it was canon compliant with bernie being dead and then serena died at the end of the fic.

I don't like angst and will almost always write it with a happy ending if I do have to write it.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Most of my other fics to be honest. The guy (or girl) gets the guy (or girl) and they live happily ever after.

8. Do you get hate on fic?

Only once and it was about an actor, not the fic.

9. Do you write smut?

When the mood takes me 😅

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I've written, um, maybe 3 crossovers? None of them are particularly crazy.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware of...

Someone once asked to translate a thasmin one. I don't know if they ever did though.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Once, with the lovely and mysterious @slightlyintimidating . It was great fun! Definitely recommend

Haha... ha. Nope, can't answer that! I love all my ships.

15. What's a wip you want to finish but probably won't?

Happy to say that all my published fic is complete. At the moment, I'd just like to be in the mood to write anything at all really.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'm pretty good at keeping people in character.

I think my dialogue is OK most of the time?

17. What are your writing weaknesses

Description. Urgh. Just imagine something in your head and pretend I described it please.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I don't think it works. If you're fluent and can write something that's not a mess, your audience might not be fluent to understand it. And if you're not then just... no. Write it in whatever language your fic is in and say its that other language.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Harry Potter. Didn't publish it as I didn't even realise fanfic was a thing back then.

20. Favourite fic you've written?

Might be recency bias, but Home Front (acgas, Siegfried x audrey). I reread it recently and loved it. It has a good plot, the characters are solid, the OCs are good, the setting is good, the animals are lovely.

Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it? My current project is the same project I’ve been whining about for quite a few weeks now. The airport fic. But I’m getting really close to the epilogue, I think. (Watch me jinxing myself in saying this and needing another 10K to finish the story. XD) 5. What character that you’re writing do you most identify with? I’m only writing for Berena these days. But I’d it depends what they’re going through. I’m bi like Serena but I’m a tiny bit closed off when it comes to talking about my feelings. I can be tactile (relatively speaking) with some people, and keep my distance with others. So I guess I’m a bit of both. ^^ 21. What other medium do you think your story would work well as? (film, webcomic, animated series?) For the airport fic, I’d say it’d work pretty nicely as a movie, if I do say so myself. ^^ Thanks for the ask. ;)
