Finished my first #embroidery project of 2023 on a unique canvas—IKEA’s TROMMA clock! I used a backstitch in a color palette I’m calling “summertime lemonade”. This was such a quick & fun project inspired by @cotton_clara on Instagram!

Happy International Women’s Day! 💪 I thought this little gem of a book was perfect to celebrate and remember that like our sisters in the 1950s, women are still facing discrimination. With retro illustrations, Career Girls gives all too real tales of the gender pay gap, working moms, and the inequality women face at work. Instead of just measuring a year by likes, I was inspired by @abbiepaulhus to draw my top nine memories of the year. Swipe to see my (questionable) doodles up close! PHEW! What an incredible day at the @molliemakes #HandmadeAwards! Sadly, I didn’t win the prize - but I’m honestly so thrilled to have even made it as a finalist. Most importantly, I had the BEST day... crafting, learning, chatting and networking. I’ve come away with some awesome new opportunities and plans for future collaborations. It was so great to chat with @keithbrymerjones, @ystreets, @thatkat, @cotton_clara, @lottieandalbert, @sewyeah, @peasandneedles, @hollymaguireuk, @thefibrelounge, @makeitbetter_sc, @tattydevine and all the others I met! Ahhh guess what? I WON the live craft challenge on the main stage of the @handmadefair 😱😱😱 The amazing @cotton_clara was a tough competitor though! Check out our upcycled lampshades in the photos (made in just 30 minutes!). I’ll share a full blog post about it in the coming weeks.
