You draw insanely good backgrounds, any tips?

Thanks!! Also I'm not really sure about what part to give tips but I can post my process with the last drawing

usually I first find some references like cool photos of abandoned places

initial sketch of idea

and then if its some hard perspective or a pain to draw manually I do it in 3d and then draw on top. I made a passable stairs and railing model in blender and added textures and lighting.

For details it also helps to look at the reference, like theres some dried water stains on the stairs or how the concrete looks so I added that.

then add characters, shading, edit colors etc.
