"First and foremost, there are no more quest boards, there are no markers that appear above people’s heads letting you know who’s got a quest, and any sort of symbols placed on your map to let you know of points of interest are kept to a minimum. As such, you’ll rely on your Pawns and NPCs to guide you through Dragon’s Dogma 2’s world. NPCs will, more often than not, be the ones to approach you with opportunities for side quests, as opposed to it being the other way around. Pawns will also point out objects of interest, like peculiar statues, boulders that can be destroyed to find a path that leads to treasure, or if they already have knowledge of a quest from their owner’s game, they will straight up lead you to them if you give them the go-ahead. All of this leads to a style of exploration and adventuring that feels organic and appropriately rewarding – very much in the same way that Elden Ring and the two most recent Zelda games do. As alluded to in the intro to this preview, you also never really know what to expect once you set out to pursue a quest lead. The very act of exploring beyond the safety of a city’s walls is unpredictable, dangerous, and enticing, which is why it’s so exciting."

"One thing that was important to Itsuno-san and the team at Capcom was making sure that players really felt the distance they were traveling as they explored. To that end, fast travel is very limited like in the first game. You can only fast travel between discovered Port Crystals, and every time you do, you must expend a Ferrystone, which are highly valuable items that don’t come cheap and aren’t easily found. Another option you have for getting around is using an Ox Cart, which is relatively cheap, but they are limited in that you can’t choose where to travel. The main one I found only went from the capital city of Vernworth to the Checkpoint Town, which was far to the west. You also have to consider that Ox Carts are not a completely safe way to travel, as they often will be ambushed by all manners of beasts. Of course, you can just hoof it on foot, which is where you’ll truly feel the weight of that distance, especially due to the new health restoration mechanic. In the first game, you’d be able to heal your entire life bar by using health restorative items, and recoverable gray health with spells. In Dragon’s Dogma 2, however, every hit diminishes a portion of your max health; and the only ways to restore it are by either finding a campfire to rest at, or returning to an Inn and resting for the night. Fortunately, if you rest at a campfire, you can also cook some meat to get some much needed buffs, in addition to restoring all of your life, but there’s a risk involved with resting at a campfire as well. The flames may attract monsters to your campsite, and as I mentioned at the beginning of this preview, you could actually wake up to an angry Griffin coming back to finish what it started. What it comes down to is this: Virtually every action in Dragon’s Dogma 2 has some combination of a cost and risk tied to it. Ferrystones are risk-free travel, but they come at a steep price; Ox Carts are a low cost, but moderately risky method of travel; and traveling on foot is free, but extremely risky. Then you must also consider whether it’s worth it to press on in a quest line with low max health, or backtrack back to town to resupply; whether you should avoid fighting the giant, tanky ogre, or risk it all on trying to bring it down for both the experience and rare material reward; whether you should keep on the less dangerous beaten path, or take a detour into the unknown."

Dragon's Dogma 2 Wishlist

My wishes for the sequel to Dragon's Dogma in no particular order (well, except for the first 3).

June 2023: Edited some wordings, some more, some less, and put a different point in my top 3.

Meaningful ways of interaction with your Main Pawn.

Optional 2-player-co-op. I am usually not a big fan of multiplayer modes (especially with strangers) but: Being able to visit your friend's world (as your Main Pawn?) and to explore it and go on quests together would be amazing! (Drop-in/drop-out style and with difficulty scaling like in Monster Hunter maybe?)

Unique Main Pawn dialogue. Yes, I want them to be even more special.

Being able to romance your Main Pawn. (because I keep shipping my Arisens and their Main Pawns and you can romance Barnaby after all!). Only if they have gained a will of their own ofc! I see them as comrades on the same level as my Arisen and forget that the game canon is a mostly a master-servant relationship...

A better romance system. Or leave it out completely. (A game's resources are limited, after all). I don't think this needs further explanation.

A unique Main Pawn quest line (with consequences) even?

Weather.

More diverse landscapes. I'd like to see something with snow. Not necessarily a desert, though. I liked Gransys but it was just a lot of green/grey/brown forests, mountains and fields. I was perfectly fine with Gransys' size, though. Traversing an even larger world on foot and with limited fast travel capacities would be rather annoying. A few more areas or some of those that were originally planned (except for the Moon because how does that fit in??) would admittedly be cool, though.

1 or 2 more villages. Nothing too big because: budget!

The ability to set up camp. You can talk to your Pawns/interact with your Main Pawn (inspiration taken from Baldur's Gate 3 & Dragon Age Origins) and maybe there are also small cutscenes showing activities before you go to sleep (like in FFXV). But to not make inns obsolete, you can only do so in safe areas and resting this way doesn't fully generate your health or has some other disadvantage compared to resting at an inn. A suggestion from a friend was that you have to buy new tents once in a while. Maybe they break more easily under certain weather conditions.

Keep the option to play offline. I hate when games force you to have a constant internet connection.

No PvP.

Addition of the classes from DD Online. I didn't play it, but they sound nice.

More control over your Main Pawn's inclinations and behaviour. The knowledge chair was fun and I'd like to keep it, but I constantly had to buy new elixirs to keep the inclinations I wanted.

Keep the combat system. It is one of DD's greatest features (together with the Pawn system). Maybe some slight additions/improvements.

More than one save slot.

Better looking endgame armor/a way to keep the appearance of armor you like better. Or more stylistic variety to endgame armor. I really don't like what the best BBI armor looks like. The mid-game gear looked the best imo.

While I'm at it: No skimpy female armor.

'Hide head gear' toggle.

Less RNG involved in getting good gear.

More mythologically inspired monsters.

Also please keep the Griffin, it's my favorite.

I don't know how to summarize these, but please keep all those small details like your height & weight affecting the gameplay, different flora and fauna during the day and at night, the variety of status effects and how to get (rid of) them, etc. There are just so many great details to this game no other game has which make it special to this day.

GRIGORI MY BELOVED UNCLE (I literally turned on my PC again to talk about him, I love him that much)

Grigori is the main antagonist of Dragon’s Dogma, a 2013 game made for the PS3 and can also be bought on Steam (which is how I found it!).

The game starts with the player character trying to attack Grigori to protect their village, only to be immediately 1HKO’d and having their heart stolen by Grigori, making them become the Arisen: a person cursed with immortality until they get their heart back.

Grigori’s scenes are few and far between, but certainly incredibly memorable! His next appearance after taking your heart is about 80% into the game, he both mocks you but also challenges you to face him in a duel to the death. Either you come out victorious or he does. But! He is someone who stays true to his word throughout, keeping your heart safe and allowing you to walk free when you eventually defeat him.

He is also someone who simply wants to find a worthy successor who can kill him, and cares very little about anything else, like burning down villages or killing people (he gets a pass in the intro since he was essentially feral and not lucid). In fact, once he takes the Arisen’s heart, he just vibes on his mountain for the entire game, only coming down to crush Elysion (basically a shitty little man who’s trying to form a cult that worships Grigori as a being of absolute destruction) and saying ‘The rantings of an upjumped zealot make for tedious listening.’ as his first english (eg. not wyrmspeak) words the player. GREAT entrance it’s my fav scene of him!

(It’s also maaaybe implied the reason you can understand him is because he stole your heart, as in his first scene (pictured above) he speaks in latin/wyrmspeak! And his text is untranslated. But when the Arisen wakes up, they can hear Grigori speaking in latin and then eventually into english.)

He’s also at least 100+ years old when you go by the fact he has faced two Arisen’s prior to the player. And, who knows, maybe even more we’re not actually aware of. AND! He fights with holy magic! A very important fact as, contextually, he is basically an angel that was sent down from heaven to find someone who could prove their worth against him, and in turn not just be a worthy successor that can kill Grigori, but also become the new Seneshcal (eg. God).

Hey, how's it going? Hope your holidays have been all right. Here are this month's Devil May Cry updates (And the last of 2020's): 1. The CapCom Café released another Devil May Cry V menu with some artistic merchandise, including these Christmas-themed merchandise.   2. You can now buy all of the Devil May Cry soundtracks on Steam.  3. Devil May Cry V Special Edition interview with the producer, Matt Walker.  b) Speaking of which, here's the full Tokyo Game Show 2020 showcase of it. 4. Dante starring in another Japanese mobile game. This time a battle royale called A.I.M.$, and includes Devil May Cry V character costumes for the other characters.  5. You can get your very own Divinity Statue as a lamp. 6. CapCom had a concert last year and performed Dante's theme, Subhuman. 7. Someone is professionally painting their figurines from the Devil May Cry V: The Bloody Palace board game. b) Speaking of which, it won Game of The Year on Dicebreaker.    8. Prime1Studio finally finished their V figure. 9. Christmas wishes from Vergil himself (If the Twitter link doesn't work, you can view it on his Instagram, which is the first video post you see on his profile).  10. New Years wishes from director Hideaki Itsuno, and hinting about a new project in the works.

My Thoughts On These Updates:

1.  Loving the art work on the CapCom Café merch. Some of that new food's lookin' pretty good, too. 2. That's cool that Steam's brought out the soundtracks. Now people don't have to pay a whole lot and have a hard time finding them on marketplace websites.  3. It does suck that Lady and Trish didn't become playable for Special Edition. I got the Vergil DLC, and I did enjoy it. But just like all the other Special Edition games, it didn't deliver much. Especially the new cutscenes, except for that brotherly moment in the end which I enjoyed as well. 4. We may not have gotten Dante in Smash Bros still, but it's nice to know that he appears in other media. 5. That lamp definitely looks nice. A bit pricey, but it's nice. 6. My thoughts on that concert performance? I found it as entertaining as a Tommy Wiseau or a Neil Breen movie. 7. I have a friend that's painting his figures for his copy of the board game as well. That's nice that it won, too. I'd love to get it just for those figurines. 8. Prime1Studio's made another nice figure. I'd love to get them so badly, but I don't have the room. Plus they're really expensive. 9. That was entertaining coming from Dan Southworth. I loved the "What the funk?" part. 10. I'm curious of what this new project is coming from Itsuno. Maybe a Devil May Cry 6? A Devil May Cry remake? Dragon's Dogma 2? DmC: Devil May Cry 2 (Hoping not)? A new game?  Only one way to find out. I wonder what 2021 will bring for Devil May Cry content. I remember from another update roundup I posted on Deviantart this year that they planned to release something special for another anniversary of a Devil May Cry game. 2021-01-08: Duck Tales (A Commemorative Tale About Ducks And Religion)

Tuesday Aug 18th (Tuesday Morning)

Two faces from Spleenifer's past arrived in Brownstone the previous night, seeking to assist Spleenifer and Brownstone in rebuilding after the recent flood. First up is Glarmp Glorious, Spleenifer's adopted twin Brother. He's a pious paladin practicioner of the same religious order as Spleenifer, spreading the gospel in the name of St. Squatzalot, and he's barely half the height his sister. The other new face is Tweazle Tealeaf, a halfling who Spleenifer babysat once upon a time. Tweazle's didn't take as readily to the dogma of the particular sect of Lathander practiced by his parents, Glarmp, and Spleenifer, and took off in search of a life of adventure (Like Tweazle's brother Milo before him).

When the adventure begins, Spleenifer wakes up much later than usual: after sunrise. Normally the cacophony of ducks she keeps wakes her up while it's still dark. It's too quiet, and Spleenifer looks outside to an empty duck pen. A note is stuffed into the door jamb.

"Dear Resident: The Reformed Church of the Dragon recently commandeered some of your poultry. Due to meat shortages, we will compensate you 2SP for your troubles. Thanks."

The news hits Spleenifer hard; she falls to the ground in sobs. Glarmp is awakened by the sound of Spleenifer's plight and immediately offers assistance and prayer to her. The emotional commotion also wakes Tweazle, who tries to go back to sleep after offering to procure some bats to replace the ducks. Ultimately the current situation requires Tweazle to remain awake.

Moments later, Lucky and Q (who goes by Raven today) arrive at Spleenifer's place to meet the guests Spleenifer mentioned would be coming. It's not the happy meeting they anticipated; not only does a Lucky have the aftereffects of a wild magic surge where words appear in peoples' mouths like a comic book, but a friend is in need of assistance! And thus the seeds of a plan begin to germinate.

A steady stream of people are out on the streets today, and they all seem to be headed in the same direction. Lucky suggests making a detour to the Fighter's Guild to check in with Hilaria and perhaps watch a sparring match or two. While Lucky and Hilaria are catching up, Tweazle's boar (named Melboarn, which contrary to societal expectations, is a perfectly fine name for a female boar) starts encroaching in Hilaria's personal space. Lucky polymorphs the boar into a mouse, and then asks if Hilaria would mind accompanying her on an "adventure date" to rescue Spleenifer's ducks. Hilaria agrees and Tweazle casts Locate Animals to find pinpoint Spleenifer's feathered companions. The ducks located due south not far from here, and thus the party sets out for a rescue!

The ducks seem to located at the Temple of the Reformed Church of the Dragon. Of course. The party lurks in the back of the church as Jrr'all Oshtreeth says a blessing at the altar. Glarmp isn't fond of the Reformed Church of the Dragon because of it emphasizes profit over the well-being of its adherents, and Tweazle isn't fond of the church because Jrr'all the Dragonborn has hair. Is that hair even real?

Lucky and Tweazle want to find out. Tweazle whispers instructions to Melboarn the Boar-Mouse and sends her skittering up the aisle toward Jrr'all. Lucky's contribution to the shenanigan is to make Melboarn invisible. While this is going on, Spleenifer hears a voice like that of Lathander telling her that allow the sacrifice of her ducks for the betterment of other people. However, this particular voice seems to be coming from one of the numerous dragon statues in the sanctuary, and not from Spleenifer's conscience. Perhaps this voice is that of an idolator!

Jrr'all notices the party hanging out at the back of the church and implores them to donate to the recovery efforts. Lucky and Tweazle volunteer to help cook duck soup, which is really important because there are Halfling Kosher Laws that must be followed before any of the Fair Folk are able to eat food prepared by someone else. Raven even volunteers to be the soup supervisor... The Soupervisor, if you will. But when the party declines to proffer a monetary donation, Jrr'all casts Command at Spleenifer to compel her to donate. Spleenifer's faith in true will of Lathander is too much for Jrr'all's command.

By this time, Melboarn has scampered up Jrr'all's gleaming armor and absconded with the Dragonborn's hairpiece. The congregation is in an uproar, but Lucky casts Mass Suggestion on them. Everyone in the congregation except Jrr'all now believes that Spleenifer is the chosen one of the Dragon Mother.

Raven does some epic level persuasion (without magic!) to convince Jrr'all that this is a clear indicator that Spleenifer has been chosen by divine decree to lead the Reformed Church of the Dragon. Melboarn the Boar-Mouse climbs Spleenifer's armor while still inside the hairpiece and clambers atop Spleenifer's head. THE HAIR HAS SPOKEN! SPLEENIFER IS IN CHARGE AS JRR'ALL RELUCTANTLY CONCEDES.

Lucky and Tweazle go to the temple's kitchen to prepare the duck soup according to Halfing Kosher Law. Of course, it won't actually have duck in it; they're going to be making mock duck soup instead. After emptying any leftover zombie guts out of the portable hole, she sneaks the flock into it for transport. The soup has been cooked successfully, though each bowl comes with a puppy that may or may not be magical, thanks to a wild surge that occurred during the cooking process.

Tweazel hauls the soup out to a wagon destined for the athletic fields to serve the hungry masses, and then excuses himself to water the bushes, if you understand Halfling slang. While all this is happening, Spleenifer summons a divine steed to carry her to the athletic fields for a dramatic duck rescue. Lucky happens to be near the steed when it suddenly appears, so she takes it for a ride across town to get the ducks to safety. She casts a quick "I love you!" message to Hilaria to prevent any miscommunication about Lucky's sudden disappearance. The whole thing is basically the plot of the 1996 film, Fly Away Home.

Anyway, Spleenifer also receives a message from Lucky indicating that the ducks are safe. But Spleenifer is an attentive duck mother and can tell from the dull chatter in the background of the message that some of the ducks don't seem to be present. Fear grips Spleenifer as she realizes who's missing: T'Pam, Prongle, and the five ducks all named Matthew.

Glarmp sees a big forehead vein bulge out on Spleenifer's face and tries to calm her down. But Spleenifer marches over to Jrr'all and demands the last seven ducks. Jrr'all, who is trying unsuccessfully to load a large dragon statue onto a wagon to accompany the procession to the fairgrounds, tells the pair they are welcome to take the remaining ducks from the temple's tower (right past the door leading to the temple's casino), but Jrr'all isn't going to help them retrieve the missing ducks.

The party (and Hilaria) make their way up to the top of the temple's disused belltower. It looks like someone's been living here, and the upper floor is covered in nests of hay. The seven missing ducks are all standing in a row up there and looking vaguely terrified. And the source of everyone's terror seems to be a goose that's in the room.

Tweazle casts Speak With Animals and talks first to Matthew #3 to get a handle on the situation. Mattew #3 relays the tale of how someone kidnapped all of them in the middle of the night, and these seven ducks were specifically picked out by the goose (named Almora) to participate in some sort of goose-duck hybrid breeding program. The other ducks corroborate Matthew #3's story, but the speech is interrupted by the angry goose announcing the next phase of the program.

Spleenifer is beside herself with worry about the situation unfolding with the ducks, and Tweazle tries make things better for the ducks by doing a spinning dragon kick at Almora the goose. Unfortunately for everyone, Tweazle whiffs on both kicks. But Melboarn's polymorph has since worn off and she charges the goose and sends it slamming into the wall with a satisfying smack.

But the moment the moment the goose hits the floor, it turns into an Elf woman. Spleenifer tries to play the woman like a bagpipe and extract a tithe on behalf of her beloved ducks, but only manages to get a low gurgling toot. Spleenifer picks up her dazed duck husband harem and takes off down the stairs. Glarmp casts Banishment on Almora to buy some time to flee, and then casts Find Steed on the stairway to block the Almora from using the stairs.

In another moment stolen directly from the 1996 film, Fly Away Home, Almora reappears after her banishment and screams an oath of vengeance against Jrr'all for allowing her duck test subjects be stolen. She crashes through the window of the tower and flies through the air like Superman, looking for a fight. Almora sees Spleenifer on the ground with all the ducks and begins combat in earnest. Tweazle casts Hunter's Mark on the flying wizard to track her in case she escapes, while Glarmp dispels the magic powering Almora's flight, causing the wizard to crash into the ground and eat dirt.

Tweazle casts a Wind Wall around Almora to box her in, but the dragon statue Jrr'all was struggling to load up earlier provides an opportunity for Almora to strike back. She channels her arcane magic into the statue, causing it spin around and spit lightning in random directions. Everybody on Team Anti-Almora starts bringing the pain. Glarmp cleaves great chunks out of the statue with his mighty axe, but before the statue and Almora can be destroyed, there's another complication:

Several rock worms burrow to the surface and burst forth from the ground. Lucky casts Xear's Chaotic Command, and ends up selecting the Crown of Madness option on Almora. Raven casts Vicious Mockery on Almora, but the unfolding chaos weakens the impact of their insults. Tweazle casts Lightning Arrow on the statue, causing it to crumble and kill Almora (Just like in the climax of Fly Away Home!).

The larger rock worm flees after its tremorsense is impacted by the thunder damage in the fight. The two smaller rock worms aren't that lucky. Lucky unleashes a potent chaos bolt that leaps between enemies, though it does result in an severe case of dandruff followed by leaves sprouting from her head. A few tense seconds later, the remaining enemies are dispatched and the adventure concludes for the night with Spleenifer's ducks safe and sound.

In this edition, we’re going to take a look at each of the titles, talk a little about each, and then explain why we think they deserve to be on the list. Top 5 Upcoming RPGs of May 2019

As we make our way further into 2019, there are some new titles launching and ones that are expanding their world. Last month was home to a few older titles gaining new platforms, the top spot went to the Dragon’s Dogma which landed on the Switch. This month focuses on some tactical, strategy and medieval influences. So without further ado, let’s get into the month of May!

Honourable Mention – Kingdom Come: Deliverance A Woman’s Lot DLC

Release Date: May 28th Platform: PS4/Xbox One/PC Developer: Warhorse Studios Publisher: Deep Silver

The upcoming premium DLC A Woman’s Lot for the medieval action-RPG Kingdom Come Deliverance will allow players this time to take on the role of Theresa, who not only gains her own story that takes place before the attack, but gains access to weapons and even her own part of the map. Theresa‘s story although continues throughout the ambush of Skalitz, her priority in the aftermath is to take care of the wounded that have managed to flee from the event.

You will gain a new dog companion named Tinker. Kingdom Come: Deliverance A Woman’s Lot DLC releases on May 28th for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Kingdom Come Deliverance Royal Edition which includes all downloadable content including A Woman’s Lot also releases May 28th.

5. Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland

Release Date: May 21st (US)/May 24th (EU) Platform: PS4/Switch Developer: Gust Publisher: KOEI Tecmo

Set several year’s after Aterlier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland, this title follows a heart-warming journey of a young Elemerulia Fryxel, an upbeat girl who studies the art of alchemy in order to follow the footsteps of her mother. Filling her shoes won’t be easy as she is the famous Rorona Fryxell who has already made a name for herself. Those who have followed the Arland series will run into old characters and rediscover the land of Arland which now looks different after some time has passed.

The game features new synthesis options, battle and exploration systems. Following the Arland style of gameplay mixed in with some elements from the Mysterious series. The battle system concentrates on turn-based actions where a party of five members comprised of two attackers and two support roles will fight against enemies. Those who are deemed attackers have a range of unique abilities, for example Eva can use a range shift skill which will extend her area of attack for a few turns. There is also a new interrupt ability for alchemists through a pre-equipped item which is consumed upon use.

Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland releases on Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch on May 21st in the US and May 24th in Europe.

4. Lapis x Labyrinth

Release Date: May 28th (NA)/May 31st (EU) Platform: PS4/Switch Developer: Nippon Ichi Software Publisher: NIS America

Players will join a quest for treasure-hunting for high-octane, where both danger and great rewards await. This unique dungeon crawler JRPG will combine 4 of your characters in a “Dango” tower, stacked to face enemies, allowing you to swap between your character classes unique abilities. Choose from 8 character classes and form your party. There are over 4,000 unique combinations to customise your team with, creative stacking mechanics can lead to synchronised attacks.

With risk comes great rewards, as you go deeper and deeper into each level, the rewards become greater. The goal is to defeat the foes that await you, destroying the crystals in order to receive your treasure. But, if you stay too long more enemies will ensue, spawning merciless invincible monsters so timing is key. Choose from 8 different character classes that all have their part to play including Hunter, Necromancer, Shielder, Maid (because I guess someone has to clean up the mess), Gunner, Witch, Destroyer and Bishop.

Lapis x Labyrinth releases on PS4 and Nintendo Switch on May 28th in North America and May 31st for Europe.

3. Vambrace: Cold Soul

Release Date: May 28th Platform: PC/Mac Developer: Devespresso Games Publisher: Headup

Originally set to release last month, Devespresso Games pushed back the release date for the month of May.

Vambrace: Cold Soul is a narrative driven rogue-like title that pits players against brutal challenges matched with deep strategy. Players take on the role of Evelia Lyric, the only human able to enter frost covered Icenaire, the cursed city. Now inhabited by it’s former residents that have been raised from the dead, these Wraiths  plague the city. It is down to you to bring hope to this darkened land, as you bear the enchanted vambrace. Plan your missions underground and then head to the surface with your team to combat strange encounters.

Journeying into an epic fantasy adventure, this title spans over 7 chapters, captured in a beautiful hand-drawn artstyle. You can choose to take part in sub-quests to unlock character skins. Battle through perils with your party in turn-based combat, choosing from 5 different races which include humans, elves, foxier, dwarves or drow, and 10 different classes. Items can be crafted as well as armor, use materials gathered from your side-scrolling adventure. It’s down to your decisions, that will make or break your party’s survival.

Vambrace: Cold Soul will now release on PC on May 28th.

2. For the King

Release Date: May 7th/May 9th/May 10th (Xbox One) Platform: PS4/Switch/Xbox One Developer: IronOak Games Publisher: Curve Digital

Set in a world where the King is dead, killed by an unknown assailant in the once peaceful kingdom of Fahrul. Now the kingdom lays in chaos, the queen has been left to turn to the citizens of the Fahrul for help. This is where you and your band of adventurers must come to the rescue. Choose to battle it out together or split up your party to cover more ground. It will be up to your strategy as well as luck to see the return of peace to the kingdom.

For the King is a dungeon crawler that brings JRPG combat, strategy and rogue-like features. Use a mix of procedural maps, quests and events as you brave the elements as well as evil creatures. The gameplay focuses on turn-based combat with a unique slot system for attacks and unique abilities. Choose when to set up camp for the night, whether its a safe spot or to endure the wickedness that comes out at night.

For the King releases on Playstation 4 on May 7th, Nintendo Switch on May 9th and Xbox One on May 10th.

1. Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr

Release Date: May 20th (PC Early Access) Platform: PS4/Xbox One (June 4th) Developer: Zenimax Online Studios Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

Taking the top spot this month is none other than Elder Scrolls Online as they are releasing their expansion which shakes things up a little with the return of dragons to Tamriel. Not only does the expansion bring a new area to explore, a host of characters old and new, challenging 12-player trial, new world quests featuring Dragon Attacks as well as a brand new class, the Necromancer.

Necromancer harnesses the power of bringing the dead back to do your bidding, the use of Gravelord Skills will imbue the dead with Frost, Fire or Lightning, raise hordes of the undead to attack your enemies. Bone Tyrant Skills will bend and break the dead to your will, creating a impenetrable wall and increase your own survivability. Living Death Skills draws powers of life and death, helps to restore your allies and resurrect your fallen comrades to bring them back to the battle.

This latest chapter introduces dragons back into Tamriel, awoken by Abnur Tharn‘s doing as well as queen Euraxia. The dragon Kaalgrontiid will bring a new threat to the home of the Khajiit. Developer IronOak Games’ tabletop RPG that combines board game elements with challenging adventure For the King is coming to Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch this May 2019.

Tabletop-RPG Roguelike For The King Comes to Consoles this May

Curve Digital publisher and developer IronOak Games announce For the King will be coming to console this May. Players can set out journeying through a challenging adventure either in single-player of co-op mode.

Set in a world where the King is dead, killed by an unknown assailant in the once peaceful kingdom of Fahrul. Now the kingdom lays in chaos, the queen has been left to turn to the citizens of the Fahrul for help. This is where you and your band of adventurers must come to the rescue. Choose to battle it out together or split up your party to cover more ground. It will be up to your strategy as well as luck to see the return of peace to the kingdom.

For the King is a dungeon crawler that brings JRPG combat, strategy and rogue-like features. Use a mix of procedural maps, quests and events as you brave the elements as well as evil creatures. The gameplay focuses on turn-based combat with a unique slot system for attacks and unique abilities. Choose when to set up camp for the night, whether its a safe spot or to endure the wickedness that comes out at night.

For the King releases in May 2019 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It is currently available to play on PC.
