I'm really bad at finishing stuff (I never finish anything) but I worked on a short smut piece for kinktober today.

Hi, I'd love to! Being a selkie has actually been popping back up into my head lately, so perfect timing!

To start off, in Celtic mythology, selkies are faefolk that can turn into seals when they wear a seal skin coat. A very common thing seen in selkie folklore is a human stealing a selkie's seal coat and hiding it, this forces the selkie to stay on land and marry the human who stole their coat.

So selkie play is when at least one person takes on the role of a selkie - like how in pet play, at least one person takes on the role of a pet. The typical dominant role in a selkie play dynamic would be the human who has taken the selkie's pelt.

For me a lot of what I like about selkie play is the idea of getting to be an innocent inhuman thing who doesn't know about the human world and is being kept captive by a human who is going to take advantage of that naivety for their own pleasure and amusement.
