i cant believe you still have this blog after so many years

i dont know if you remember me but i used to ask you questions very frequently, my old user was _marship i think

It's been pretty inactive, to be fair!

But I don't have any asks to answer and have been pretty occupied with life things and health things and yknow other hyperfixation, to do events.

warnings:  I mentioned the reader wearing nail polish in this, which I know some attribute to being feminine but?? Nail polish is for any gender!! However, if wearing nail polish is something you’re uncomfortable with bc of the way its gendered, then you may not want to read this <33 however!!! Other than than: none <3

You sighed, wiping the floors of the school bathroom with a bored expression. “Show some excitement, (Y/N)!” Hanako exclaimed, clapping his hands together as he floated above you.

“Easy for you to say- I still think that if Nene and Kou can’t make it, I shouldn’t still have to. I just painted my nails, Hanako!! Isn’t that reason enough?”

“Did you, now?”

“Yeah! So, if you’d be so kind as to-” “Nah-uh. You’re almost done! You’ve got this!”

You sighed once more, continuing to scrub the floor. “Working my poor, fragile hands,” You added quietly. “You’re starting to sound really familiar, (Y/N)... almost like a pink-haired supernatural we know.”

“Hey, the biggest difference between Mitsuba and I is that Mitsuba isn’t stuck cleaning the girl’s bathroom.”

Hanako shrugged, floating aimlessly as you continued to wipe down the bathroom floors. As the sun began to set, Hanako ‘encouraging’ you as the time passed, you finally placed your hands on your hips proudly. “Finished!!”

“Are you now? See, told you it wasn’t hard!” Hanako shouted, clapping once again as you tossed the disposable gloves into the trash and began to scrub your hands. “Make sure to wash those poor, worked, fragile hands of yours, alright?” He teased, causing you to glare at him. 

Once you dried off your hands, you held them up to Hanako’s face, pouting dramatically. “Whether or not I was being dramatic, they are kinda red from scrubbing! And the nail polish is starting to wear down a bit…”

Hanako took your hands, seeming to examine the nail polish as he messed with your fingers a bit. 

“What’re you-”

“You do work hard, (Y/N). I can see it a bit in your hands, I think. Your hands are a bit dry from all the cleaning and washing though. Put on moisturizer, why don’t ya?”

“I put on moisturizer plenty! It’s not my fault a bathroom ghost makes me clean so often.”

Hanako shrugged, not releasing your hands. It grew quiet for a moment, as you lost your will to argue, instead settling for watching the boy as he seemed to grow hesitant- flustered even? Then, after another moment, he lifted your hand to his mouth and pressed a kiss to your index finger. 

“What the-” You cut yourself off, feeling your face grow warm as butterflies swarmed in your stomach. You watched, confusion and embarrassment most likely written all over your face, as he continued through the rest of your fingers. A careful kiss was placed to your middle finger, ring finger, pinkie, thumb, and then over to the next hand. He went in the same order, and once he finished he gave your hands a light squeeze. Moving your hands from his mouth, but still holding them, now a bit lighter, as if he wanted you to know you could pull away if you wanted to. You had no words as you processed the sudden, kind action, but you found yourself desperately searching for something to say at the slight tremble in Hanako’s hands. 

“What was that for?” You asked, trying to regain eye contact with Hanako. To your slight surprise, he made eye contact as well, an uncharacteristically soft look on his face.

Quickly, the moment was ruined, as he grinned a signature, cheeky Hanako-grin. “A reward, for working oh-so-hard, you poor thing!”

“Aghh, shut up, toilet master. Whatever, my work here is done,” You sighed, grabbing your things and turning to leave the bathroom. “See you tomorrow, Hanako! Have a nice night!”

Hanako watched as you left the bathroom, waving frantically until you were out of sight, and not moving until he was sure you were out of earshot. Only then, did he bring his hands to his face, letting the embarrassment run rampid. “Aaahhh, that was dumb, wasn’t it…? Great, (Y/N) probably thinks I’m… well- I’m sure they think I’ve done weirder. I still… kissed them…”

And, little did Hanako know, that your mind was also being flooded with thoughts- “He? Kissed my fingers? Why did he kiss my fingers? Was he mocking me? Was it sarcastic? His hands were shaking though... was he nervous?”

You sighed once again, clasping your hands together and looking down at the spots where he kissed your fingers. The fuzzy, butterfly feeling returned to your stomach, as you felt the blush return to your face. “Hanako, honestly… you really do confuse me.”
