for the giggles, what if evil!wu au was like an inverted world and it has something like Magenta Ninja Harumi and Sensei Garmadon taught the elements of destruction instead

Bruuuuh you can't just drop banger au ideas on me like thissss, I don't have the time or mental capacity!

...So, anyway, INVERSE!AU?!?!? LegacyInverse?!

BUCKLE UUUUUUP-

Wu, having been bitten by the Devourer as a child (with miscellaneous yet currently undetermined side effects), doesn't outright long for destructive conquest like his brother, but instead simply wants revenge, quietly biding his time with his brother being none the wiser as he plots and plans for his moment (because here he would've begged Garm to get the sword and Garm would've just told him no, and as a child he'd already been resentful and bitter over that...but then that unresolved malice that festers all the way into Garm winning over Misako and having Lloyd <- and that's Wu's breaking point)

But instead of realizing Lloyd's the Green Ninja (as the Green Element wouldn't have been "discovered" here, similar to how [REDACTED] is now, thus the genetically-ideal Lloyd only inherited his grandfather's full essence), his family realizes Lloyd runs the risk of fulfilling the prophecy of the Golden Master, and if left unchecked he'll experience the same fate as his grandfather (and also possibly destroy the world, if he doesn't destroy himself first, heyo).

And Garmadon knows the only thing can could even possibly suppress the pure Golden Essence/Power is the combined might of the Golden Weapons (which *we* know is because Core Four = Green Element, Green Element -> diametrically opposed to GP), so Garm asks for Wu's help in keeping them protected until the time comes.

...But Wu DOESN'T, gasp! And he successfully manages to steal all four Golden Weapons! The one thing they think is capable of saving Lloyd from a horrible fate! Which for Wu is the ultimate revenge against Garmadon (being made to be unable to save his son) and Garm FIGHTS! And via some miscellaneous yet undetermined might of the forces that be, he's the one banished to the Underworld...and from there, both brothers get to work.

Wu, unable to leave the Underworld, manage to coerce the Skulkin to seek out the Inheritors of the Four Core Element—the only other possible solution to contain Lloyd. They first "kidnap" a runaway boy with marigold eyes from a mountain ("kidnap" is in quotes; Cole thinks he's got nowhere better to go and surrenders pretty easily snksnksn), then actually kidnap an amnesiac robot from his father (maybe Julien dies in the process here, idk), then a boy with cobalt blue eyes head to city to test his invention and never comes home one day...and finally, Destiny set its sights on the future Master of Fire.

Long story short Skulkin kidnaps Kai instead of Nya -> Kai basically becomes Wu's "General #1" (hehehe), and Garm, who realized too late what Wu had been scheming and had been working on "countermeasures" in the meantime, just barely manages to save Nya from a similar fate. OFC Nya wants to fight to get her brother back, and Garmadon's totally down to let her—but, specifically because he'd arrived in the first place for her...as he seeks the Inheritors of the Elements of Destruction to counteract Wu's plan

Since there's no "Green Ninja" prophecy here to counteract the Golden Master one, and Garmadon's desperately needs a solution on how to save Lloyd without the Golden Weapons/Core Four...he devises his own theoretical prophecy—that the Combined might of the Outlier Elements, the "Elements of Destruction", would also be enough to yield a force capable of standing up to the Golden Power. Theoretically.

So he begins devising together a team—his first member is Morro, the Jade Ninja and Master of Wind. 40-something years old (and never died due to Garm not running off to Chen/Wu not having the compassion to try and raise him himself) and is known as Garm's first and finest pupil. He takes role as the leader of the group (in Cole-flavor, that is), and is without a doubt the strongest member.

The second member is Toby (name pending), the Variegated Ninja and Master of Time. When the Spinjitzu Bros dealt with the Time Twins, instead of hiding away the Time Blades and cutting the element from the Compass, Garm made the call to give the element to the "next of kin" (so an Elemental Descendant of Time from a generation or two back) in order to reunite the element...which wound up in now currently 20-something Toby. He stays with the Destructo-team for a few years but eventually retires to raise a family (growing up to be Roby's dad! ..but he also might wind up being murdered by his own brother out of jealousy, but that's neither here or there)

(...look I gotta work in my "Roby is a Time Descendant hc SOMEWHERE. He just winds up as an Inheritor in DR in this universe instead but he'd still rather host a tournament than partake in one ghfgfd)

Anyway, if Toby's theoretically anything like his son, then he's the Jay of the group jhgfhgffds (especially with an OP power like time at the his fingertips—but just imagine the pranks hgfdgfd)

The third member is one Skylor Chen, Amber Ninja and Master of Amber (she's mad at the lack of originality but she cannot say it isn't effective). Garmadon ofc never trained under Master Chen here, but also never learned of the hand he had in the stirring of the Serpentine War, thus Chen was never banished to his island. He still managed to make a fortune with a slave-run noodle company, and with the Elemental Compass NOT taboo info in this universe since the Green Element "doesn't exist" to take advantage of, he instead FLAUNTS the fact that his wife and daughter were/are Masters of Amber (in a similar vein to Skylor's "situation" from the Royal!Au), and....shady dealings arise from that. Garmadon basically winds up helping Skylor run away from her crazy father, and she becomes like a surrogate child to him (and big sister to Lloyd!) (though this makes the cause of Tournament of Elements a plan for Chen to get his daughter back in his clutches, and continued revenge on Garmadon...and also become a snake, but I digress)

The fourth member is Nya herself, the up-and-coming rookie Silver Ninja and Master of Water! She's the only one of the team without a True Potential from the start, so the "pilot season" is her bonding with everyone and coming to terms with herself while also dealing with constant attacks from the Core Four (the Corrupted Four, if you will), who are trying to learn about the whereabouts of Lloyd for their Master...

...who learns from Misako accidentally about his fate and winds up running away to "become evil since that's what I'm destined to do anyway". So, that much is still the same anyway. (I just dunno at what point this happens, but it's prior to Nya's TP)

Anyway, Nya gets her TP, the Destructo Four perform some ritual, and their elements combine........and they manifest The Overlord (who, while far more chill here, is still gungho about trying to kill Lloyd) (*also, note, this is just a thing for this hypothetical au only jsaghfds. that's not how it works in "actual" legacyverse)

BREATHE.

Pause. Settle. Rest. Sip tea.

CONTINUE-

So the first time around for The Final Battle, the FSM and the Overlord had been evenly matched, and the FSM was too consumed by the might of the Golden Essence to rely on his friends and combine their might to manifest the Green Element to be able to overtake + seal the Overlord. As a result, their fight lasted centuries, and the FSM was driven further and further into madness by his unchecked power, turning him into an unrelenting menace. Similar to "legacy!canon", he winds up "taking himself out" to stop himself from harming anyone, and an unsealed Overlord simply goes dormant (instead of having centuries to build up a relentless rage in a metaphorical metaphysical case).

...until he is forcibly brought back by the Destructo Four, and learns that a new Golden Master may be on the rise. Garmadon begs and pleads with the Overlord to not kill Lloyd, and asks if there's any other way for them to subdue Lloyd. The Overlord considers this, and theorizes that if there was another mortal being to take the Overlord's place/powers as a counterbalance to Lloyd, then Lloyd would be less likely to go berserk and he wouldn't have to kill him—but not just anyone can wield the Void Essence. Only the most empty, desolate, and quiet of souls could ever hope to do that.

Anyway as The Overlord searches for a "Champion", the Desctructo Four search for Lloyd, who still releases the Serpentine, yadda ya, Great Devourer still eventually gets unleashed, Harumi's parents still die, and the Overlord happens upon her at the peak of her despair and is like "YOU'RE PERFECT", and grants her the Void Essence and serves as her floating cloud Guardian companion.

Also having Void from the get-go allows a grieving Harumi to oneshot the Devourer with an oblivion blast or something lol since Garmadon can't do it here. This causes her to pass out and the Destructo Team kidnap bring her to the monastery to explain the situation I mean what else is she gonna do? go home to her parents?

"....So I'm cursed with oblivion powers and I'm fated one day to kill the Golden Master?" "...we're trying NOT to kill my son here.........!" "Well he released the Devourer, so I think I should still kill him—" "No, that was Pythor." "...Oh, ok."

And then the legendary Magenta Ninja is born! With the power to obliterate and leave voids in her wake! Cue training arc to achieve her true potential!

(also also Olivia is Samurai X, and everything about Jesse is the same, unless we wanna splice in the Quiet!Jesse AU here so he can be the surrogate!Harumi in this au (like, he goes in to save Harumi's parents, they still die but he gets pushed in the elevator anyway/get scarred/can't save Miranda, and Harumi, while safe and not needing to be saved from a building, is still close enough to make the agonizing realization -> Fairy godmother Overlord appears with free powers!) ... Otherwise Harumi would be surrogate!Lloyd to him and Skylor is surrogate!Cole lmaoooo. Antonia is still Antonia.)

So then they train Harumi, Lloyd's being worked up about his destiny and trying to avoid it puts him right on the path to becoming the monster he doesn't want to be and he starts his career of mayhem! And while training, Harumi realizes she's internally imbalanced herself, and suffers from some of the same agonies that Lloyd does—and realizes she, too, is a threat to the world (not helped by the Overlord still trying to sway her into just killing Lloyd—even though they figure out that would just end her too)

So now Harumi and Lloyd are the only two people in the world that can even remotely understand what in the world the other is going through (potential tragic romance doomed diametrically opposed lovers fated to kill one another unreachable like the opposite ends of a magnet something something), but by training with her team and learning to accept the hardships of her life or something, Harumi gets her True Potential...which leads her to gain access to the [REDACTED] Element. (though for kicks everyone just calls it the "Magenta Element" lmao) (again, also not quite how it happens in canon, but roll with me)

BREATHE.

Okay, Act 3....!

With full powers in hand, Harumi finally feels fully like herself again, while the 2:1 imbalance throws Lloyd further in agony. Harumi wonders if there's a hidden element Lloyd hasn't tapped into either, leading Nya to bust out the OG Compass and finally theorizes that the combination of the Core Four might be what's missing here. So the next mission (while trying to keep Lloyd form going crazy) is to win over the Core Four and stop a now-enraged Wu from killing Lloyd himself (....there's a lot of attempted murder in this au; I'd never survive tiktok)

As Nya, Skylor, Toby, and Morro slowly win over Kai, Jay, Zane, and Cole (with Kai being particularly stubborn about Lloyd needing to die to "save everyone", being the surrogate!Olivia wheee), Wu grows more relentless, with Misako going in to try and talk to him and calm him down, but to no avail. Something goes down (a fight? an altercation? he captures her in a cage?) and that sets Lloyd off and he gets stuck in a Golden Outburst, which sets off the "second" final battle between him and Harumi.

But the whole time while both sides are trying to get through to Lloyd, the Overlord keeps whispering to Harumi about just being done with all of it—get rid of him and end everything. But Harumi doesn't want to die herself, and yet the Overlord insists "There is peace in the dark'.

But Harumi's like "noooo I want to LIVE" in cliche anime fashion and that snaps Lloyd out of it a bit, making the realization that he wants to live too and that he loves life -> bam opening for the Core Four to swoop in with the weapons and help him unlock his own True Potential, and thus access to the Green Element (cuz his element if life woop woop), which not only balances him internally, but externally with Harumi, meaning neither have to worry about going crazy, and neither "have to die".

The Overlord is outraged at this, claiming he "made" Harumi like this, she should understand his philosophy, something something (maybe there was a subplot where he was planning on making Harumi a permanent physical vessel for himself but he needed Lloyd out of the way, idk), EITHER way Harumi doesn't need him anymore, and neither does reality, and she poofs him away with his own powers (YEAH IRONY), as he no longer has his purpose to exist.

And now with his TP and full power, Lloyd's able to use his [REDACTED] NRG Ability to save his uncle from evil-compulsion, and they hug (very important) and Wu apologizes (but then goes on a long soul-searching journey to atone for his sins or something), the Core Four don't want to be ninja or soldiers or anything anymore, and wish to go back to their families to make up for the lost time (though Kai eventually winds up coming back for Nya, and the others are always on call at the sign of a crisis), and the Destructo Team stay on as the main ninja for the time being

...and even if it isn't wholly accurate, Nya, Skylor, Morro, Toby, and Harumi all come together to make a "compass" out of their own unified elements, symbolizing the time they spent together.

And it is fittingly called the Inverse Compass.

I was gonna post the whole season at once but by episode 2 I realized that would be way too long

Episode 1

-I misunderstood the begining for a second and I thought the elves pushed the humans to the west to protect them from the magic but now I see that they’re enemies and that makes a lot more sense

Happy Birthday Pocket Mirror!!!! Thanks so much to everyone who took time to play the game and support the crew over this past year!!! Every single play means so much to me, and everyone on the team as well!!! I’m gonna reminisce and get mushy under the cut, so be warned!!!

I say this all the time and I’m sure people have gotten tired of seeing it typed out but I!!! am! so! thankful!!! I’m thankful to have gotten the chance to draw art for Pocket Mirror! And even more so now that I get to be a part of Astral Shift and work on Little Goody Two Shoes!!

If you’ve been following me for a bit, you know that I’ve always loved spooky pixel games! And it has always been my dream to make one of my own! So when Kira sent me a message in October of 2013 (yikes!!! talk about time flying!!!) and asked if I wanted to join Pocket Mirror I about lost my mind!!! I felt like the message was honestly too good to be true? I actually got up from my desk and did jumping jacks I was so excited hahahahaha But I immediately agreed!!! and even though I knew there was a chance it might not bear fruit, the idea of being able to draw at least some art for the type of game I love was enough for me! I honestly have the dA message screen-capped on my phone so I can go back and look at it for good feelings and good mems!

This also kinda shows you that if you want to put a project together, you definitely have to get out there and just ask!!! Now, the PM group did already have a pretty lookin’ Tumblr with some info about the game in their favor, (though remember, PM was very mysterious and revealed little about its plot during the entire development process) but asking is always the first step to someone agreeing!! I’m sure there’s another artist out there who would do excited jumping jacks just to get invited to your project too!!!

I don’t think I really had confidence in my art until i joined the Pocket Mirror team. I drew because it was fun! And it was something to do! But I didn’t really feel like my art had anywhere to go! And I definitely didn’t feel like I was in a place art-wise where my drawings would fit into a game!!! Did I deserve the honor!??!?!! I didn’t really know! A spooky rpgmaker game, again, was like the pinnacle of success for me? It was the goal!!! An untouchable, unreachable goal!!!!! So while I still drew art in the beginning stages of the game and was really excited to do it, I still felt unsure the entire way hahahahaha It was probably around the time Harpae’s theater got put together that I felt like I had really changed and was more confident in what I could do! And here is when I felt like I definitely deserved to be there! and apart of the game development!!!

Seeing the theaters move though? I still get weepy!!! PM challenged me to draw stuff I wasn’t used to drawing! It really got me out of my comfort zone, while still letting me draw cute girls hahahhaha I think part of the reason people sometimes call my style “unique” is because of the ways I come up with to get out of drawing things I don’t know how to draw? I have my clever ways heh heh heh Anyway! I was able to do so much with my art that I probably never would have tried on my own! Without PM, I probably would be drawing the same spooky girls with spooky hands over and over again! I might not ever of had the chance to see my art move around in a theater/pv? I feel like it’s very easy for me to envision that I probably NEVER would have gotten to see the thing. And very easy for me to think I NEVER would have gotten to draw my own rpgmaker map!!! and make sprites for it!!! School easily drained me of all my free time I would have needed to begin those things on my own! To have learned programs on my own!!! PM was not just something that pushed me, but was a lil bit of a crutch to get into things easier too hahaha

The theaters and the Jes Map were a really rewarding experience for me! And I’m so thankful I had the chance to draw art for them!! Like too thankful...probably obsessed thankful with how much I’ve show them off irl!!! i am so hashtag blessed!!!!!!!!! and I’ll scream about these things any day and any time you remind me!!!!!!

But more important than thankful, I felt really proud of myself seeing my art in-game! The kinda house I grew up in wasn’t a very artsy place and other things were definitely valued more. So art wasn’t really something to feel proud about? Just a fun lil hobby to “waste” time! I had to work up to that pride feeling over time! Fast forward some time and PM’s release is probably my second proudest moment in my dang life!!! That’s pretty crazy but If I try to think about everything I’ve ever done? It doesn’t really compare for me. I’M JUST SO THANKFUL I HAD THE CHANCE TO DRAW ART FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL PROJECT!!! I honestly had one of the easiest jobs on the crew, but I still value the game!! As my baby too!!! The baby I love with my whole heart!!! I’ve never worked so hard at art for any reason in my life until PM!!! So it is so important to me I would fist fight someone over it! And I would win because my love of PM is the source of my muscles and power!

My art has sure changed a lot since I first joined the project in 2013! Yikes!!

I can’t really express how excited I was when I got invited to be apart of PM, but imagine literal screaming for 400 days. And then multiply that excitement by 500 when I got invited to join Astral Shift officially. And then multiply that number by 1000 and that’s how many days I screamed when i was finally able to read players’ comments about Pocket Mirror when it was released.

People’s reaction to Pocket Mirror definitely blew everyone in the group away! tbh some days it doesnt even feel real?? My dream!!!! And I’ll never forget checking for new Let’s Plays every single night to see what people had to say!! I got teary eyed sometimes!!! Happy teary eyed!!! Seeing a comment about one of the theaters always sent me out of my chair shrieking!!! And jumping of course!!! All the comments and support I’ve gotten on tumblr, twitter, dA, or even youtube because of PM have all been my motivation for drawing! I don’t always have a lot of free time because of school, but it is something i make time for. Because I want to get better! And draw more interesting pieces for everyone that’s supported me over time! I think it would be great if people were able to say “oh yeah! That jes girl? I followed her since she was drawing art for X!”

It wasn’t just confidence and endless screaming I got from Pocket Mirror, but i was able to meet so many new people!!! New buddies! and so many insanely talented creators!!! I’d honestly been living in my own little bubble? I definitely feel like PM and mostly Kira took a needle to it hahahaha Add this on to the list of 1000 reasons Im eternally thankful for Astral Shift!

My style has changed a whole bunch since Pocket Mirror, and it’s changing again now that Little Goody Two Shoes is in the works, but I hope everyone will still keep up with me! To the people who have followed me since Sound Horizon times, Thank you!!! To the people who have been with me since spooky Mad Father/Witch’s House fanart, Thank you! To the people who have joined me after Pocket Mirror, Thank you!!!! To people who joined me at some other time, Thank you guys too!!!! Thanks to everyone for taking time to look at my art!!! What can I say about the Girl ive known for a couple of days?. That she had this sense of humor that really makes me into her, you got me Christine. hahahaha somehow for a couple of days and nights na kausap ko sya na sya nlang ata yung kinakausap ko kahit pa kumakain ako at naliligo na di ko nmn mostly ginagawa kasi wala naman ako kinakausap or what is mostly like different.  ewan ko ba kung bakit..  i never talk to someone naman like deep talk or kahit lokohan tawanan dati kasi okayblang na tahimik or browse or magbasa ng mga libro kesa makipag usap pero this time was different .. oops dont get me wrong hahaha wala lang taga bundok ng tralala kasi ako i have my own life. So ayun di ko naman sinsadya makilala si Christine or even ask, God to give me a gift, advance Birthday naman hahahaha.

Blessing is really awesome.

I wish I could really express the happiness I have found in spending time talking  with her over the last few days. Getting to know her has brought a dimension to my life that it just never had before. not that happy ano kasi alam mo yun im happy na e nadagdagan lang yung happiness ko i mean basta its very inexplicable. I’m not exaggerating when I say that she is the kindest, most animated, and most amazing person I have ever met. The more I learn about her, the more I want to know. she is incredible! Kahit first time kong mahawa ng pag ka jolly nya. she  have, in a way, changed the way I see the world. I am a better person, and I want to be an even better person, just because I have known Her.  hindi ko alam kung  tama ba ako pero ilang beses ko ba syang tinitigan sa pictures nya  hahahaha wala lang gusto ko lang titingnan yung mga ngiting nyang fixed . 😂✌✌✌. i wonder ilang tao na ba nag tanong saknya na kung nag bago kana ba ng how you smile in camera?” hahahah, ilang tao na ba nakausap nya at tanungin sya kung gaano kaganda mga ngiti nya at how her eyes smile too. CHRISTINE is something real. And I’m grateful that she have trusted me enough to give me even the smallest glimpse inside her world.I’m liking to everything she’ve exposed me to.Those beautiful eyes so captivating. Her mga thingy word, innocent enough to bring a smile to the angriest of people kahit puro kalokohan and tawa like hahahahaha . But what I adore the most, what draws me in more than anything else, is that her incredible smile. :) cmon Grade 1 smile

I could talk about her to everyone . Like she is a  poetry to a world still learning the alphabet. And if I had one wish, I’d allow her to see how beautiful she is through inside and out at hindi lahat alam yun :)

Why did I decide to tell you this thing regarding to the most amazing person i’ve known for less than a week?

Because I wanted the entire world to know how amazing I think she is. Sure, there are countless men/women who I’m certain appreciate her obvious outer/inner beauty. But I cannot imagine there being another person in this world who sees her inner/outer beauty the way I do.It will pains me to see her be treated any less than amazing.

I can only hope she give her heart to the person who wants to watch her fly high. Soar high. And I want it na ako yung taong yun. Hahaha. #honestyisthebestpolicy

With that said, let us begin with this first question~!

QUESTION 1. What is your favorite scene in the comic so far and why?

for me my favorite scene is the silent interaction between syias and bells while they are fighting ramus. i think so much of the visuals to the moment illustrate their relationship beautifully. it was a moment that really cemented them as my favorite guardians in the story

another scene that im particularly fond of is that one where bells and schnell talk and he tells her to change her strategy. there was something ominously dark about it in a way that felt....realistically practical? cause while i dont trust schnell's intentions, i cant disagree with his practicality in the matter. i mean is he really wrong since insofar, it doesnt seem bells' strategy has been particularly effective

syias i think is more sympathetic than schnell. schnell is kind of a jerk cause enigmatic reasons. whereas syias is a jerk cause gotta do whats good for the world and then he head pat apologies bells.

i might be biased cause i have a fondness for the guardians XD

for me theyre one of the most interesting parts cause of their roles and how they interact with others

yes. admittedly from a more critical level ive been liking the later chapters a smidgen more cause its tying things that happened earlier together a lot better. cause the initial chapters while well-written, always kind of felt connected mostly by protagonist. but the later chapters are really making everything seem like threads of the same world since motivations and past events and all that stuff is coming into play

I think an important thing to keep in mind is that Schnell is...very old and even if he claims to be a guardian he still doesn't have the same concept of time as they do, so he's probably bitter and tired of that by now

there's a comic I haven't uploaded onto the main site yet (since there already was a gone fishing between chapters 5 and 6) that kind of explores Schnell how he was 250 years before the current events

QUESTION 2. Bells and Schnell are entangled in a complicated “game” that directly correlates to ghosts coming into existence. However, Schnell is enigmatic at best. What is Schnell’s goal with this game, and why does he care about ghosts being saved? Why does Bells even agree to play this game? As the first ghost, how did Schnell come to exist? Does it have anything to do with the game? Lastly, what is this “fish” that Schnell’s mentioned to Bells that would make his job easier?

hahahaha as is with the story, there's going to be a few bits and pieces about Schnell presently, but as for his backstory and past in general, is still going to take a bit to explore (to not lunge the reader with too much information, especially since we're still in the adaluxen arc) 2) Great questions, one second!

- What is Schnell’s goal with this game, and why does he care about ghosts being saved? Schnell originally served under Bells (in the Monster King comic, he's still wearing what is currently called the Guardian uniform) and he assisted Bells in returning ghosts back to where they came from with other characters we may have met but can't say ;D So despite him being tired of what he defines as "Bells' constant failures" and even promoting them (as he says in chapter 4 that he IS to blame with why Acantha wasn't saved), he's trying to use negative reinforcement to get Bells to do [something] I can't say yet but it's definitely related to Schnell's earliest memory he told Acantha in chapter 4. (About the white being that drinks tea) -As the first ghost, how did Schnell come to exist? That is sadly a spoiler for now, but he is definitely telling the truth that he was a ghost and with Bells' and the other guardians misunderstanding of what a ghost was (since they had never seen one before) did lead to how he got his powers. (This will be explored later) -Does it have anything to do with the game? The "game" was invented after Schnell stopped working for the guardians, it's more of a jab as in "if you're not going to take this seriously, let's make it a game then" kind of approach. -Lastly, what is this “fish” that Schnell’s mentioned to Bells that would make his job easier? The fish is actually a cosmic fish, they are actual physical entities but that's all I can say for now hahaha

Gonna take a second to catch up, but in terms of favourite scene, I actually liked the whole "Toy" side story. It showed the Guardians of the world, showed they weren't omnipotent, showed they were maybe out of touch through no fault of their own, just thought that was very clever.

much like Acantha, he was very optimistic but after a while he lost it. So Schnell is semi-meant to represent the bitterness Acantha could eventually develop if she dwells on her failures

Exactly why do ghosts form in the first place? I can't really give the exact reason as to WHY they're there without diving into spoilers, but ghosts' bodies are a defense mechanism to a world they're suddenly being thrust upon. They don't go through the normal developmental process of baby, childhood, teenager, adult, but are thrown in at mid-teenager and expected to pick everything up in a matter of days. So their bodies are responses to society, personal, and cultural expressions and after a while they just CAN'T go back to where they came from (literally and metaphorically) Do you think they can actually be saved? I think anyone can be saved but it's not in the concepts a lot of western cultures define it as. It's not that someone like a friend or a romantic partner saves you or a higher entity (in this case guardians), but more how much you're willing to accept your own flaws and work toward them for your OWN betterment and everything else comes afterward. So a lot of what happens later isn't about being saved by a guardian before they turn, but WHAT you do with the circumstances and your own definition. You sometimes can't take back the things you've said and done (Ramus physically hurting Hessa, and Acantha's crime that often gets talked about) but how you respond to it, gives it meaning (Ramus allowed his negative thoughts to control his life till he became a monster, Acantha just pushes forward) Why can’t the guardians save them from the get-go? The only guardians that have the connections to the ghosts are Bells and Syias mainly because they feel the life cycle being disturbed, but for them to actually locate a ghost is a bit of a task. Actually, I'll answer this question with another question, if in chapter 1 we see that Bells compresses the souls but we know they can't filter through the guardian, where does she take them? ;>

He's kinda like the little guy with a notebook who takes notes at anomalies and leaves, but has befriended Bells little by little through his visits And yea, the comic has never stated if they were human at all, and honestly, that doesn't matter since they can't go back nor have memories from that possibility. They could've been anything or even nothing! It's who and what they are now that counts

Do you think Bells is right that Acantha might save the ghosts/prove Schnell’s wrong? Their bet mainly consists that despite everything that happened, Acantha still saved a ghost (back in chapter 1) unlike what Schnell would have done. So, in a way, yes, I think Bells is on to something but is approaching it in a very black and white way and that can be bad for Acantha. So both need to work on their own things there. While it’s implied Acantha broke the rule about killing the past, what do you think exactly happened (and why does that rule exist)? There are a few reasons, killing is considered a problem with ghosts because, it's, well, bad, and it might speed up the process since ghosts change into monsters due to negative thoughts. Also since ghosts aren't SUPPOSED to be there, them killing someone is a paradox (though nothing universe breaking is happening, so it might just be guardian paranoia) and Schnell is against killing personally because he believes there are worse punishments. What Acantha did, IS covered soon, so I can just say, she deliberately killed a human and it wasn't even out of self-defense. Her own reasoning is understandable once that's taken place (it's foreshadowed a bit in Gone Fishing 003, the one with Midah) Will she reunite with Hessa and the others? Time will tell, but most likely because good narrative structure would incline that to be so, but it's really a matter of WHAT will happen and WHEN ;D How will she react to Ramus’ death? Oh we're finding out about that very soon, so stay tuned! Will we ever find out how Acantha became a ghost exactly due to Schnell’s machinations? Yesssss, by next chapter!

QUESTION 1. What is your favorite scene in the comic so far and why?

My favorite, by far, was when Asher utilised his own powers to trick Zelek in their battle by crushing a bolder into dust to blind them.. and then punch him right in the brain case.(edited)

I think skipping forward a few weeks was the right call.
