Still reading The Book Eaters. About halfway through now. I’m ngl this book is pretty bad. Neat concept, odd execution at times, cringe-inducing dialogue. Easy to read though so I think I’ll finish it?? Though I had a second here earlier I thought about just DNFing it and moving on lol

#psy's no punctuation posts #reading tag #i wind up making a face during most convos in this book I’m just sitting there grimacing half the time KFNFN #i knew it was over for this book the second I had the ‘people don’t talk like this’ thought when reading #that’s one of the biggest tells for me that smth is bad. if it trips up that alarm in my head #it’s a good book to try and get out of a slump bcs it’s quick to read #but no I wouldn’t say this book was good necessarily #i like Devon alright though she’s a pretty good protag. everyone else is written in a way that makes it hard for me to get into them #<— trying to avoid overusing the word cringe KRNFKF #i don’t like that word anyhow but I do find the book cringe inducing at points #the narrative writing is fine but the second the characters gets involved the writing embarrasses me #save for Devon again
