Finally got around to finishing my 12k… er now 13k Celebration Animatic you guys requested. Warned you it would be silly. I know it’s stupid but been wanting to do this since I first heard this audio clip months ago. Consider it my convoluted Donnie version of the infamous “Yo Mama” joke Raph makes in ‘03.

Technically this is not canon, though let it be known that Replica Donnie is just as unhinged as the rest of the f!Donnies. He’s just too tired to make a show of it most of the time. It’s exhausting being quirky in your 30’s (speaking from experience).

Also sorry for the lousy quality. Maybe someday I’ll learn how to use Clip Studio to make a proper animatic rather than just clip it on Instagram. Replica update should be up next!

It was honestly quite amazing how quickly your little Violet had grew, 6 whole months and your baby girl was babbling and practically sitting up on her own now. It was also your first Christmas as a family of three, Harry was done tour, you were off at your home in the countryside close to Harry’s mum: Life couldn’t get better.

“Okay so we’ve got dinner at mum’s in about forty minutes-you okay angel?” Harry’s voice snapped you back to reality

“Oh-yeah i’m okay lovie, just thinking about how 6 months ago we were at the hospital…and now”

The pout and shine in your eyes had Harry walking over to you to pull you in for a hug, holding you gently to him. Thankfully Violet was sound asleep upstairs, she often would panic slightly if you were ever upset, same thing with Harry.

“M’love…it’s okay to feel a bit emotional, our baby girl is growing up…”

“I know-it’s just happened so fast, I miss when she was teeny tiny”

Harry smiled pressing a kiss to your temple

“I do too, but she’s only six months, so we’ve still got a bit longer of little her hmm?”

You knew he was right, so nodding you wiped your eyes letting out a sigh, just in time to hear babbles from Violet upstairs.

“Go get our girl, and i’ll finish up our snack”

Leaning forward to kiss his lips softly you made your way up to Violet’s room, as soon as she laid her eyes on you she was smiling

“Hi petal! Did you have a good nap!”

“Ma ma!!” she squealed happily as you lifted her up, placing her on the change table to get her diaper switched before fixing her Christmas onesie.

“Should we go show daddy your pyjamas? We can all match together?”

Violet smiled clapping her hands as you scooped her back up, walking back down the hallway

“Da da!!!!” she yelled causing you to laugh, Harry appearing around the corner after hearing his daughters very loud yell for him

“Well hello to you too baby!”

Violet reached her hands out to him, Harry quick to take her while pressing a kiss to her cheek

“Wow, don’t you look so pretty in your pj’s…do mummy and I have the matching set too?”

Violet looked to you before pointing to her jammies, babbling away

“I think she’s saying yes H”

Harry laughed, she was still learning how to say words, only a few in her vocabulary at this point but that didn’t mean she couldn’t communicate in other ways.

“Well I say we go get changed and then and have some cuddles on the couch!”

Matching pyjamas was the first of many traditions for your family, something you’d remember as the holidays came and left with each passing year. Violet truly was the best gift you and Harry had ever received.

And maybe someday in the future, you’d add another little one too..

hi! it’s been a while since I last uploaded art or anything cstm-related. the truth is that I’m a college student now! yay! I’m studying to become a doctor too! double yay! I’ve been feeling much at home here rather than at high school to be honest XD and it’s great to have the privacy I desired compared to my dormitory life many months ago. the big city I currently reside in (I’m a country boy lol) also gives me a lot of cool places to visit, cool people to meet. I’ve been doing well, maybe a bit on the mental side? haha, it’s just the first week of uni, so I won’t get way too hopeful, but one’s gotta be optimistic

but with university comes a lot of homeworks!! not as much as in high school, but I get home late and I have to think about lots of things other than homeworks, like cleaning the apartment, cooking, etc. I’ve been busy both with my personal life and my social life in uni. I’m also currently hyperfixated on my ocs and welcome home, and lately I’ve been trying to slow down on drawing too much and avoiding burnout (also some things regarding the ttte community but atp it’s just a long lost memory and I prefer to think about the better stuff).

I have many drawing ideas for casa tidmouth, a few fanfics planned too, but I’m whittling at it all, bit by bit, at a pace I desire. hopefully, I can fully return to bruhstation later and gain my footing again. I love my story, I love my friends here, I love my supporters. I’ll just take my sweet sweet time.

oh, I’ve also been reading more books. a LOT of them!! I think they’re a good way to expand the way I weave the themes in my story, and they’re so good. demian, the stranger, 1984, wuthering heights, moby dick... do check them out someday!!!

So like, a while ago I did a little update on the Brink fics, and I figured it was worth giving a kinda sad update on my other Fable fics as well.

At this stage, there are no plans to continue or finish Your Skin Beneath My Teeth (the second book in the Blood series).

I know this is probably disappointing, because I know a lot of people really loved the Vampire AU. But from a personal writing level, I’m just sort of unhappy with the direction of the books, and I don’t have the time to commit to rewriting them. I’m not invested enough in my own story, and while that’s a shame, I don’t know if there’s much I can do without just giving myself time to stew on it.

There’s also a logistical side to things as well. Fable is coming to an end in less than a month. I feel like it’ll probably take me months to finish the Brink series still first, which are the fics I’m personally more passionate about. And at a certain point, I don’t want Fable to be the only thing that consumes my writing for the next year+. Not to mention the time I want to dedicate to other SMPs and creative projects I’m involved in, like Cantripped, Bound SMP, and Terramortis, with even more stuff in the works.

On top of all that like… I’m just a guy, ya know. I’m a full time student, work part-time most days of the week, commute between 2 major cities regularly, and I have other things that just deserve my time more.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been in fandoms for years, I know it’s shitty when fics you enjoy never get an ending. But I hope that like, people get where I’m coming from with discontinuing it, I guess.

Besides, there is, technically, an ending for Blood. I’ve had the ending written since the end of the first book (it’s just getting there that’s the problem) and so if people would like, as some sort of closure for the story, I would be happy to release that here on Tumblr or on my Kofi or something. Maybe I’ll make a follow up post with a poll.

I might as well mention that there is likewise no plan to “finish” the Band AU, but since that was always a collection of one-shots, there was never really a plan or end for any of it. It was always kinda disjointed without an end in sight lol.

I’m not saying that I’m NEVER going to go back to these fics. Just that it’s unlikely. But who knows, maybe someday I’ll crawl out of the dirt to finish them-

If you did only follow my Fable fics for the Blood books though, I’m sure some elements of my other fan works might appeal to you, if you want to give them a go! The horror/contemplations of humanity are the key theme of Brink, and the mystery/thriller, high stakes political conflict mixed with interpersonal melodrama is the focus of Cascading Skies, my new Bound fic. And of course those and so many more things are just key elements to like all of my storytelling my canon characters lol. But if none of that ticks your boxes, it was great to have y’all along for the bloody vampire ride :D

Anyway this was me getting sappy about setting aside a project I worked really hard on lol. Sometimes you gotta do that and sometimes that’s okay, and that’s an attitude I struggle with but am getting better at. I know don’t owe y’all any kind of explanation for this, I could have just stopped and let it die, but I wanted to give one. More for me personally really; I needed to say something about it publicly to like… fully cement in my mind what I decided on a long time ago. First off I have to say this was my favorite panel I think, it’s so pretty. The faint glow! The colors! The cape over his shoulder! Amazing. This truly was Sky’s update, I loved every bit of focus he got. Jojo fed us well :D

So it looks like I was wrong about Sky reading everyone’s mail. He just immediately took off after the mailman instead (and spent all morning chasing him ha!),

Side note but I love the npc guy. He’s simple but still Zelda-y. the character design in this comic is just👌

Looks like the mailman has a list of who he’s supposed to deliver to, or at least that’s my guess. It could be a map maybe, but that probably wouldn’t do much good since he’s time traveling?? How does he do it. Don’t question the magic of the postman I guess.

Also I agree with everyone saying Warriors is close to snapping— they’ve all had a pretty stressful 24 hours, but Warriors has been breaking up arguments and repeatedly checking on everyone while they’re struggling, and... I don’t think he’s had a break. Take a nap bud, please?

It doesn’t look to me like she truly helped much, but maybe Fi gave just enough of a nudge for Sky to find the postman’s footprints? Even in her sleep? She is glowing just a bit there... Interesting to think about.

It’s confirmed that the postman uses the portals! And that the Shadow is alive and kicking! Uh-oh! (Also does anyone else think this one seems more... firey? Then the last one? Maybe it's just me).

And the chopped-off darknut head is still there too.... and I’ll bet you twenty rupees somebody is going to kick it when the Links go through the portal later. (My guess is Wild but I’d put my money on Legend or Wind too).

I’m also really curious where that portal leads... My guess is either Twilight’s Hyrule or Sky’s, based on what hints we’ve been getting, but I really don’t know. It’ll be fun to see!

I love when Time breaks out the dramatic language... makes me remember that this guy is going to be the Hero’s Shade someday (who’s speech is 99% dramatic things).

Now the Links just have to decide what to do next... will they stay another day at the inn for Twilight’s sake, or get moving right away? Is Four going to confront Twilight about the dark magic he uses to turn into Wolfie?

So many questions... but in the meantime I will gladly continue to reread this amazing update, I really loved this one :D

I saw the size difference art of the Diasomnia boys and all I can say is, damn Sebek you need a bra for those honkers. Much like the post about NRC boys’ butts, do you have any headcanons on their chest sizes?

With how my brain is wired, I feel like in a lot of ways it’s going to correlate with the genderswap chest sizes I also wrote some time ago (update: NOPE IT’S NOT LOL), but I’ll still go through the list! Since this is more about muscle definition, right? Right… Alright, who else got honkers…

(I also don’t have much to say about some of them, sorry in advance!)

Riddle – pretty flat. We’ve seen his Beach Wear Groovy, the boy is pretty flat… there is sooome softness if you really squint, but maybe it’s just an optical illusion??

Ace – also kind of flat, but with soooome definition. Nothing to write home about, really, even though he’d like to have a big muscular chest someday.

Deuce – he also has soooome definition, but is flatter than Ace; Ace just uses his upper muscles a bit more.

Trey – definitely the biggest one of his dorm, and even though it’s muscular, it’s also surprisingly soft and squishy.

Cater – I feel like he’s pretty plain, just a flat boy.

Leona – definitely on a bigger side; he’s also kind of soft-ish, but more toned than Trey.

Ruggie – sometimes it looks like he has negative boobs. He does have some muscles, but doesn’t eat nearly enough protein to get any type of boobs :(

Jack – big boy. Very big boy. Huge. His boobs are big and heavy, definitely even bigger than Sebek’s. There is some softness to them, but not much: Jack’s boob could kill a person…

Azul – surprisingly… he’s pretty lean, but his chest is pretty noticeable when it isn’t buried under layers of clothes. It’s not big or anything, but he works hard on his body, so it’s like a natural result of that. He has to keep the perfect balance in his exercise or diet though, because it’s pretty easy for his chest to either start losing definition or becoming a bit soft.

Floyd and Jade – biiiiiig. Not as big as Jack or even Sebek, and I absolutely overdo it whenever I draw these two lol But both of them are pretty big when it comes to the chest region; Floyd is a tiiiiny bit bigger though.

Kalim – pretty close to Ace and Deuce, but also kind of soft!

Jamil – nicely defined, muscular, a little soft, but mostly toned. A bit similar to Leona’s but a size smaller lol

Vil – now this is who takes this whole thing very seriously; just like with his ass, he makes sure that his chest looks exactly how he wants it to look: it’s not flat at all, it’s actually pretty well defined, but he also paces himself just so it doesn’t get too big. There is pretty much zero softness in it, too.

Rook – terminator. Pretty much as big as Trey, but with zero softness lol He hides his boobs just as successfully as he hides his huge butt.

Epel – flat, but with more meat than Riddle, for example. But it’s not nearly enough meat for his chest to be pronounced… ahhh maybe one day! >:(

Idia – skeleton… no boobs for this man… but it’s okay we love him this way <3

Ortho – yeah, this one is also pretty obvious lol

Lilia – FLAAAAT Flatitio Lilia Flatticelli is his full name. But to be fair, I think he had more pronounced chest when he was younger. But it was never big by all means, just a bit more defined.

Silver – yeah, you’ve seen the art, I think he’s pretty big, but not as big as Sebek… he also has some softness to him, but it’s mostly because his body is more relaxed than Sebek’s, who’s always super tense.

Sebek – HONKERS. That are also hard as rock unfortunately… I feel like Sebek could break a pencil with his boobs somehow. I’m not sure how, but he might.

Malleus – it’s pronounced, it’s very noticeable when he wears anything tight, but it’s not super big.

Hey everyone!

This post is long overdue, I know. I’m really sorry to those who have been worried about my wellbeing, as well as those who have been waiting around for an update for so long.

I’ve put off writing here because this “update” is something I’ve been wrestling with for a long time. But I can’t keep going back and forth on it forever, which is why I’m now letting you all know that the Shadow Society is officially discontinued.

I know that this might not come as much of a surprise to anyone at this point. I’ve tried to salvage the story by remaking it into something I’m happy with through a rewrite. But I’ve rewritten the rewrite itself more than once, and no matter what I do, I’m just not happy with the result. Rewriting something that’s already published with all the coding it involves is a lot more tricky than I initially thought it would be.

This is not a case of me being needlessly harsh on myself, however; it’s simply a truth I’ve come to realize after struggling to find a way to keep going with the story. I’ll never be fully content with it, or even content enough, unless I’d be able to completely remake and rewrite everything from scratch – and consequentially, I will never find enough motivation to continue because of how unhappy I am with it.

I’ve seen some speculation about my reason for rewriting the story and my long absence, and that they’ve had to do with comparisons to other IFs (well, you know which one). This isn’t entirely the case. While the comparisons did happen and probably still do, and while they were discouraging in the beginning, I can definitely understand where people have been coming from when making them. I talked about this more in-depth in the forums right after the release of TSS.

The main reason for why I can’t continue is that it’s not a series I feel passionate enough about to work on. My tastes have changed, and so has my writing to some degree. I’ve tried to convince myself that I am passionate about it. It’s hard to admit that you’re not when it’s been in your head for so long, when you’ve tried for so long to make this work and when you know that one part is published and that some people are anticipating a continuation. But it had to be done sooner or later.

Other reasons:

-While I don’t think that my writing style has changed drastically, I feel like it is somewhat different from how I wrote back in 2018 (which is a GOOD thing). Whenever I tried working on the rewrite or second book and attempted to emulate the writing of TSS, it just didn’t sound right anymore, and that took a lot of fun out of it.

-With everything that has happened with CoG over the past few years, they are no longer a company I want to write for.

Please know that none of this has discouraged me from writing in general. I still love doing it. If anything, this has taught me a lot about what I actually want to write and the writing process in general. Whether I end up publishing anything else in the future or will simply do so for my own enjoyment we’ll just have to see, though.

I still have the idea of a shadow-like world in my head, and maybe it’s one I will revisit at some point. Maybe there will be another version of TSS someday, albeit very different from the original one.

But for now, I can only thank you all for the overwhelming love and support over the years, and apologize for any disappointment this has caused. If people are interested, I’d be happy to share parts of the rewrite and unused ideas. The Tumblr page will still stay up at least for some time, but I will probably not be answering any asks from here on out.

Transgender Imposter Syndrome

I used the phrase transgender imposter syndrome today. I have another genderqueer friend who I talk to every so often and we’ve been talking about hair lately. I have super thick curly dark hair. The place I used to go to get my haircut closed down last year. I think I used that as an excuse to just stop cutting my hair. I haven’t had a haircut in like 10ish months. Lately I’ve enjoyed the length because it’s more of an androgynous style. You look at me from the shoulders up from behind and I’m not sure you could tell what gender I look like. If I shave everyday I even look a little androgynous from the front although I do still present pretty much all masc out of laziness and survival seeing as the area I’m in isn't real kind to trans folks.

Anyway, my friend and I were talking about how we never had a stylized haircut until later in life. I always just had a buzz cut with the number 3-4 guard on until like 15. I never wore my hair curly until after I graduated high school and had my own money to buy products because my mother couldn’t afford the stuff that was good for my hair and had no idea how to keep curly hair healthy or style it. I’m constantly fighting with my hair. It’s just long enough to get in my eyes at this point and it’s a sensory nightmare. I really want to cut it but everyone tells me it looks really good. I get comments on my hair like 5 times a week from customers at work. I secretly love my curls but they’re so much work and I’m so tired. I’m also worried about looking to masculine if I cut my hair. 

Every so often I’ll slick my hair into a more “feminine” style just to see what it looks like and I don’t know if I’ve ever admitted it to anyone but one of those times I looked into the mirror and saw the girl I could never be. This is where the phrase transgender imposter syndrome comes into play. I don’t think I could ever see myself as anything but at least a little bit of a man. No matter how much I don’t want to be a man or don’t feel like a man I will always see a man when I look into the mirror. I hate that. How can I call myself nonbinary if I see myself that way? I feel like I’m soiling the trans identity.

I know there isn’t a right or wrong way to be trans. I know that your gender identity journey is going to be a lot of ups and downs. I know that it sometimes won’t make sense. I know that everyone's identity is valid. I know all of this I swear. My brain just won’t translate these things to include me into them. I’ll get there someday, maybe soon. ( I pulled this last line from a song called robert’s place by Simon Robert French. You should really go listen to this song. @simonrobertfrench)

The comic left off around the end of chapter 1, so feel free to begin at chapter 2. It too is unfinished, and given my track record, I won’t promise anything. Just note that this version was older, and I had Rapunzel and Eugene present for Varian’s discovery of the Moonstone powers in this one. It is so much faster to write it out than illustrate each page.

That out of the way, as many may have guessed given the length of time since the last update, I probably won’t continue this comic as I had hoped. Life has never been better, or more busy, and I now do graphic design for work. I love my job, but it takes a lot of the creativity out of me for drawing comics.

I also got married (these are some doodles of him!) and my interests have moved on. I want to create something of my own, and am biding my time, gathering wisdom that hopefully comes with age, before beginning. But, I wanted to give the folks who still, after all this time, give me notes on here some closure. You have been great, and this has been fun.

I have one more draft Tumblr post in draft that I’ll set about posting as well, and then I’m probably done for the time being. Maybe someday I’ll get back into it, in which case I’ll be posting here again. Till then, so long. 💙

Hello there again! (●’◡’●)ﾉ I’m the anon that asked about Falin and wanted to thank you for your detailed explanation on her!! I knew she was a bit of creep from what Google translate told me (someday I’ll evolve to actually understanding jp) but not that much of one. Like geez, I knew Akuneko showed the ugliness of humanity but I didn’t think they’d go that far. >~< As much as I’d hate to say it, I’m a little sad she wasn’t utilized more as a sub-villain. Then again, I guess we’ll probably be seeing her in some flashbacks maybe (holding out hope) of elf man.

Speaking of elf man, I’m actually terrified of whatever Studio Wasabi is going to release late August (╥_╥). I really really hope they let Belen become a butler though but that brings up the question of who the other two butlers are gonna be. We haven’t had any hints about them but then again they did the same with Teddy and Hanamaru so who knows. Maybe they’ll all be some kind of fantasy related race? Or something akin to that assuming elf man is gonna be one of the four…ahhhh!! So many questions!! But please Studip Wasabi, let our butlers be happy I say!

Side note but if Belen really does become one of Aruji’s butlers then I hope he still has his cat ears

and yes! i second that sentiment wholeheartedly! see, none of the villains in aknk are written in a half-baked manner; if they are villains, they do more than enough to deserve their titles.

[unlike media, especially these days, that have villains that kill a man on screen to show how terrible they are, have little to no backstory, just a pretty face (so fans can spend money on them and romanticise them), aknk antagonists are not like that.

you end up hating them (because their crimes are truly inexcusable in every way possible), yet you can’t help being intrigued by them. ]

why was Falin so entranced with beauty that she kidnapped people that fit her criteria and sold them? what prompted this? it wasn’t love for money or material. not to mention, she grew up in an ordinary village. why did she become the way she is?

why was Fubuki so lost in his greed for power and wanting to get ahead of the Grobaner family? with him we can make guesses (unlike Falin) but it’s still not explained—we don’t know his childhood, whether he had authoritarian parents that forced him to be this way or an event that changed everything in his life. why did he want to create enhanced humans so badly that he was willing to experiment and kill children and in the end to find an alternative for the devil butlers with Grobaner family so he could get ahead of them?

anyway, you get the gist! all antagonists in this game are really interesting.

that’s I wanted both Fubuki and Falin’s past shown in detail so we could get to understand why they were the way they are! unfortunately, we won’t end up getting too much information about Falin; but Fubuki is alive and i don’t believe his story is over just yet.

[also, it’s so funny that both of them had met canonically and Falin had proposed to him but he rejected her 😭]

I’m also holding hope that when elf guy’s backstory gets explained, we will get information about Falin! since there are earlier survivors (her captives) who managed to escape; we might get their perspective.

there is no doubt in my mind that elf guy is getting playable; like i can already imagine his initial ssrs, his interaction with Aruji/us, how he’s going to be in Halloween event (if he gets playable by then?)

I used to think that the writers of aknk add some soft content in the main story after each really sad/upsetting main story episodes. but um considering we got the stuff with Lato and then Boschi’s whole chapter right after, hehe I’m not so sure 😃

i think you have a good guess going with the next coming butlers (excluding elf guy) being from some fantasy race. we’re kinda slowly getting focus on the Western region, the one governed by the green-haired elf looking guy, Elboa.

considering the last two chapters were focused on and in East (Falin and Fubuki both being from East), it shouldn’t be unlikely that with subtle focus on the West in chapter 4, that we will be delving in it in the coming chapters.

so to spice things up, the writers might add non-humans to our long list of butlers ✨! I hope they do, it will make things interesting since we’ll get a focus on the respective regions the fantasy-races are from, how different they are from humans and so on!

and i kinda did some research on Belen’s demon, Beleth, and he has a cat-like appearance.

so i think Belen might have Miyaji’s case going with him. where he’ll get those cat ears and tail wherever MC/Aruji summons his demon for him or wherever he is under the control of his demon (that’s happening now.). otherwise, he’ll have his normal appearance since he is human. that’s totally my guess though.

but it’s entirely possible that his cat ears might stay when he wakes up later because he had them for so long and all (?)

the other butlers don’t have their features change under the influence of their demons (besides having a red hue surrounding their one eye and the black hue surrounding them) or when Aruji summons their demon for them besides Miyaji. with Miyaji, later during his arc, when he loses control to his demon, he’ll also have his animal ears too (i think at least!)

but i can’t wait for Belen! he’s going to be so adorable (๑>◡<๑)!

with elf guy (god, if i have to call him elf guy one more time, I’ll —) I do have a gist of how he’ll be like. but with Belen, while we do have flashbacks that show his personality, I’m not sure that’s exactly how he’ll be like when he wakes up.

he’s been sleeping for 2000+ years in this state where his demon has full control over him (and we do know demons try to weaken the butlers by showing them nightmares or showing them good dreams so they can lose their grip on reality and yield to their demon). so when Belen wakes up, he’s going to have gone through hell 😭 so I think he won’t exactly be the cute, reliable person he was before his demon took control of him.

i think he might even have problem with communicating, even basic tasks like eating and walking to a certain extent at least. he hasn’t performed them in 2000+ years. yes, he was frozen in time but they should show some signs of having trouble with his daily tasks etc (please studio wasabi, I’m begging you 🥺)

that would make for some very interesting content too! from being the reliable older-brother-figure to now having trouble with everything and relying on people around you. I hope after his case is wrapped up (he’s woken up and all) we get some focus on his life in the devil’s palace and his interaction with everyone (like a 5.5 chapter?).

Jesus Christ, this request was from like, March. But I finally got around to him this is Pepper Bread Cookie

Also I feel like this isn’t the only request for chilirye I’ve gotten, but screw it, I’m too lazy right now to go through 100+ asks to find newer ones

So I originally started making Pepper Bread probably in March, but he was never more than a circle that was meant to be his head. But I was waiting for like an hour for a class, it was 10 minutes past when we were supposed to start, and only a few people had shown up, and we eventually just decided to leave, but in that time I was finally able to come up with something for Pepper Bread here

Anyways I’ll get into his name. So I believe his name is just based on bread that has pepper in it, since rye can be made into bread. Though his design is mostly based on this one specific picture I have saved in my Photos

Pepper Bread:

So today I finally had the idea for what to do with Pepper Bread, and that was to make him an innkeeper. Partially inspired by that idea I had for a Chili Cookie that’s an innkeeper (I do still want to draw her though). So that’s what I did with his outfit. The Innkeeper family from the Red Dragon update were pretty helpful as refs

Though I do also have to admit it makes his outfit more boring looking. Maybe he has some sort of adventuring outfit, maybe I’ll draw that someday

I basically just really wanted to make his hair look like the reference picture, which was the reason why I kept it in the first place. As in like, having orange hair with red flecks. Later on I got the idea of giving him red freckles, which are supposed to be like, pepper flakes in his dough, and I wasn’t sure I should keep the hair idea, but I did and I think it looks nice. It’s also why I gave him the braid, since that’s how the bread looked. It was going to be bigger and longer, but I couldn’t get it to look right, so it just stays on the shoulder now

I’m not sure if he looks too much like Chili Pepper, but oh well. I generally like his design, though I don’t think it’s what I envisioned. The one thing is that I couldn’t make his outfit look that exciting, but them’s the breaks I suppose

So let’s get into his character. So the main thing keeping me from making him is that I couldn’t figure out what to do with him, like specifically what his job was. Chili Pepper’s a thief, Rye’s a bounty hunter (or is she a sheriff? I’m not entirely sure), should I choose one of those for Pepper Bread? Or should I choose something else entirely? If so, how do I choose one that sounds in character for chilirye kid? One idea I had was to make him more straight laced than his moms (since let’s face it, Rye’s just as chaotic as Chili Pepper), and so an idea was to make him a sheriff, but I wasn’t sure. But then as I said, I had the idea to make him an innkeeper, and so yeah

Pepper Bread just wants to live a normal, honest life, so he got himself a tavern and opened it up, he’s gotten business (maybe not a lot, but at least enough to keep him afloat), and he’s pretty happy like this and treasures his inn. Generally speaking, he’s a friendly guy, someone reliable and honest. Though, if you cause trouble in his inn and mess things up, he will not hesitate to throw you out, or throw hands to do so. And while he may love his mas, if they cause trouble in his place, they get the same treatment

Also I imagine him with a strong Southern accent like Rye

FFXIVWrite 2024 #1: Steer

(A/n: I'm immensely glad the first week has submission leeway, cos my brain could not compute ideas at all. I've only now started getting some thoughts for things to write, though at this point, I only have this :'D So i have work to do to catch up now

But this is an idea I randomly got the other week and the timing with ffxiv write means i can potentially put this idea to work, depending on the prompts that come up - a light rewrite of the endw role quests featuring the Scions to help alongside. Let's them fill in any skill gaps my wol might have, plus any other bonuses like seeing their reaction to events they didn't experience, or culture groups they missed out on.

So this first example is the healer quest, cos it's a nice thought to imagine Alphinaud and Arenvald getting a catch up moment as friends, just one moment before its back to work.

These role quest re-writes have a mild bit of timeline fudging, everything happening pre-lv86 and so a long time until that happens, then I'll have to see when is a proper time to end them after lv87 in order to include the Scions. We'll figure it out as we go!

So largely spoiler warning for Endwalker's 1st half as far as lv85/86 and the beginning quest of the Healer Role quest.

Fhara and Alphinaud ported into Ala Gannha, having already received their briefing on the goings on in the region from Raubahn. They were there to help the Silver Griffins, an order established in aiding Ala Mhigo’s reconstruction, and in helping rehabilitate former soldiers and wean them back into communities. A goal that would no doubt take much time and effort, but unfortunately was already at risk of being halted due to the onset of Blasphemies stirring up fear and dread in the world.

Technically, only Fhara herself had been requested due to her reputation. Every emissary sent from Eorzea and beyond clustered into a tiny strategy planning hall in the Radiant Host’s quarters descending upon her as soon as she’d entered the room. But even she had to admit that most of the skillsets they required of her weren’t her strengths, at most only basics learned in the past so she could be ready in an emergency, but she would hardly call herself well rounded. But all the better to have a more capable friend join her on these ventures.

After all, in the aftermath of Thavnair falling victim to the Final Days, there wasn’t much else for the Scions to do other than try to ease the worries of the civilians and aid them in their asylum to Sharlayan. Fhara couldn’t quite call it a distraction from current events but she hoped that taking them somewhere less crowded with anxiety and tension, somewhere yet unaffected by the larger impact of the Final Days, maybe it would help clear minds to think on the next step they needed to take.

Even if they were beset by blasphemies nonetheless.

“Arenvald has spoken of this venture in his letters recently. They’ve made some small steps toward helping some families, but he’s quite hopeful it can make a larger impact in bringing communities together and moving Ala Mhigo forward and beyond its occupation era someday,” Alphinaud stated once they were steady on their feet from the long distance travel.

“He and Raganfrid have a lot of work ahead of them, but I’m glad they’ve made some progress to start. It’ll be a long road,” she responded, ears perked as she looked around for their hosts.

“Indeed. As a friend, I would have liked to offer to assist them with it, but the Scions’ aid began and ended with the liberation of Ala Mhigo and it’s up to the people to stand on their own feet from here on. I’ll simply have to make do with Arenvald’s updates in future, while this instance is really an unfortunate outlier given the scale of this calamity,” he replied, looking torn over the fact they had to be involved at all.

Fhara’s ear flicked at the sound of crunching dirt behind her, signalling his approach before he made his appearance known.

“Unfortunate or no, tis good to have you both here to help all the same,” Arenvald greeted them both as he wheeled up to them, his warm grin being matched by the two Scions, “I’m sure this isn’t how any of us would’ve hoped to meet and catch up, but we can’t always have it easy, can we? “

“Actually, why don’t I leave you two to catch up first while I check in with Raganfrid on what’s been happening?” Fhara suggested, thinking to herself that it’d be best to let the pair catch up properly as friends before they had to worry about any official business, “You can fill me in later once we’re settled in.” She could see Alphinaud giving her a look out of the corner of her eye, though she tried to look inconspicuous.

“Already rushing into work? I would’ve expected that out of you, Alphinaud, not this one,”  Arenvald chuckled, even as Alphinaud seemed to protest weakly at the suggestion, “But aye, fine, last I saw him he was down by the river’s edge minding some of the kids. Tell him we’re good for our stores as well, I just checked it.” Fhara nodded, giving them both a friendly wave before she darted off where he’d pointed, leaving the two friends alone in the middle of the village.

“You’re well then?” Alphinaud asked, aware it was a rather simple start. It rightfully earned a light chuff in response.

“Well enough. Obviously I’ve got loads of work here, but it’s getting on. I feel I should be asking you if you’re well, given you’re busier than me with twice the workload. I’m surprised those tiny shoulders of yours haven’t cracked carrying half the world’s weight yet.”

“I’m hardly shouldering it alone,” he countered the friendly jibe, although it also felt as if the act of drawing attention to his many woes suddenly made him feel that bit more weighted, “Still, you are right, there is…a lot going on. I’m afraid I don’t have the luxury of stopping though.”

“I can imagine, with what I’ve heard about your old man, and a little bit of what’s happening over in the Shroud.”

Right as a dark expression crossed Alphinaud’s face at the thought of it all - Thavnair, the Garleans, the Blasphemies, his father - Arenvald gave him a light shove to shake his mind away.

“Hey, none of the heavy shite now, we can save that till we have to chat with Raganfrid proper. C’mon,” he said, gesturing to a shaded seating area under a pitched piece of fabric and proceeding to roll ahead, leaving Alphinaud to hurry after him with a hastily mumbled affirmation.

“I’m surprised they haven’t given you a better wheelchair for the terrain while you’re posted out here,” Alphinaud added as they walked, noticing the high backed chair was much the same as Arenvald’s original infirmary stay.

“They’re working on one, just all the nonsense about getting proper parts to make it and such. And I keep telling them if the parts were better needed somewhere else, like someone else’s cart or machine, I’d make do waiting a bit longer. The least they insisted on was giving me a better tread for the paths and rocks round here,” he reported, giving the wheel a pat once he slowed to a stop under the shade, Alphinaud noting indeed it was a heftier rubber that still looked in good condition, no signs of wear and only lightly dusted.

“Garlond was passing through at one point checking on things, and he offered to make me some kind of hightek thing with all sorts of bits and bobs and shite, and ‘oh it could float you over entire ridges with enough aether crystals’, but nah,” Arenvald said, his brief impression of the engineer making the other laugh, “He’s definitely busy enough with half the work he’s doing on his own business and all the airships the major cities use, I’m not gonna give him more work.” 

“Cid is never one to stay idle, though he certainly has a bad habit of taking on more projects when he’s already busy enough,” Alphinaud hummed, remembering how frazzled Cid often looked in his workshop, and of his own making.

“At least he’s got that assistant to keep him right, I swear, the face on her when he started talking parts and labour and costs could put the fear in any other man,” Arenvald chuckled darkly.

“Ah, I’ve only met her a few times, but I know enough that Miss Jessie is not one to be taken lightly,” Alphinaud confirmed, recalling tales from Biggs and Wedge. Arenvald settled back into his seat, making himself comfy.

“Either way, while it’d be nice to have an upgrade, this is doing me well enough for what I need right now.” And with a confident smirk, he added, “I’m lucky I had the weapons training before all this, got enough arm strength to see myself through a full circuit of most of the valley ‘round these parts before I’d need someone else to help.” The final note was punctuated with a hefty flex of his arm, earning a bemused shake of the head from Alphinaud.

“Your strength was never in doubt. But still, tis good to see you adjusting well.”

“It’s good to see him lighten up with a friend here, those letters always do perk him up when they arrive,” Raganfrid hummed, him and Fhara watching over the village from the ridge.

“Yeah. I was hoping to give them some time alone before we had to focus on work. Just five minutes without worrying about everything else in the world,” Fhara said, tail flicking behind her.

“Aye…a pair their age shouldn’t have to be worrying about official duties and stopping wars, but they stood up for the deed anyway. I’d like to hope that the work we’re doing here means the generations after Arenvald’s won’t have the same troubles he did. Just a future without hardship.”

“Knowing Alphinaud and his sister, I don’t see them ever slowing down, even if we manage to bring this to an end. They could’ve chosen a quiet life in Sharlayan but instead they’re out here insisting on helping everyone else.”
