List of Games Turning Twenty (20) Years Old in 2025
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Advent Rising (they started planning the trilogy before the first game was out lmao)
Age of Empires III
Animal Crossing: Wild World (the DS one)
Arc the Lad: End of Darkness

Banjo Pilot (the Banjo-Kazooie racing game on GBA).
Battalion Wars (the spin-off of Advance Wars).
Battlefield 2
Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30

Burnout Revenge (this cleared Burnout 3, and I will fight you on that).
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth
Call of Duty 2
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (go play the Castlevania Dominus collection. It has this game and a few others and it's GREAT).
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness
Civilization IV
Cold Fear (answering the age old question: what if Resident Evil 4 was on a boat and not as good?)
Condemned: Criminal Origins (a launch title for the Xbox 360 and a pretty solid horror game).
Conker: Live & Reloaded (maybe a controversial opinion, but this is WAY better than the original).
Crash Tag Team Racing
Dead or Alive 4 (aka, the one with not Master Chief in it).
Destroy All Humans!
Devil Kings (all the sequels would be under it's non-translated title: Sengoku Basara).
Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening (let's rock, baybeeeeee)
Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat
Dragon Ball Z: Sagas (I saw a stream of this game a few months back, and oh my god, this looks so shitty/funny).
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
Dynasty Warriors 5 (who's excited for Origins???)
Far Cry Instincts (a console version of the PC exclusive original game)
Fatal Frame III: The Tormented
F.E.A.R. (if you haven't played this before, change that. it's fantastic)

Forza Motorsport (the very first one).
Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows
Geist (the rare M-rated Nintendo game).
The Getaway: Black Monday
God of War (the very first one).

Guild Wars
Guitar Hero (the very first one).
Haunting Ground (a very rare PS2 horror game from Capcom).
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee
The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer (since the second movie came out, this game is now considered non-canon).
Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit (the second game from known hack/fraud David Cage).
Jade Empire (the last game that BioWare made before they got acquired by EA).
Jak X: Combat Racing
Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death (there was a for real-ass Judge Dredd game on the GameCube).

Killer7 (from the greatest to ever do it, Suda51)
Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie (you guys think it's based on the movie or what...?)
Kirby: Canvas Curse (a really fun DS game that only used the stylus)
Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament (i think klonoa would get along really well with sonic)
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (the one where Link gets really small)
Lego Star Wars: The Video Game
Lunar: Dragon Song (one of the worst RPGs I've ever played. Don't play it).
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (the one with the Baby Mario Bros.)
Mario Kart DS (the first one with online play).

Mega Man Battle Network 5 (the only one in the series to have a DS version)
Mega Man Zero 4

Ninja Gaiden Black

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Pac-Man World 3
Perfect Dark Zero (yet another Xbox 360 launch title, also made by Rare, and a sequel to one of the best FPS games ever made. It was fine).

(っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ welcome to my blog!
hello! my main is @elendsessor. this is an incredibly nerdy blog mostly based on equally as nerdy stuff from the 90s to the early 2010s! i’ll only occasionally post something not related to that, but they’ll either be gifs relating to newer entries from long running franchises, or nintendo 3ds related things. i was born in the 2000s and have a heavy appreciation for that weird low polygonal ps2 graphics and the nintendo ds/3ds. i also love nicher stuff, fictional ecology, and monster focused games!!! this blog runs on a queue, so don’t automatically assume i’m online nor don’t think i’m not going to reblog art pieces you want reblogged. if you need to message me to take down a post, please don’t expect an immediate response, but i’ll try to answer as soon as i can!
here’s a few links to make browsing my blog a bit easier:
things i uploaded | tag list (including nearly every tag i’ve used!) i try to keep my blog as organized as possible without getting super into specifics. the tag list may not get updated often but it has most of them :)
ADDITIONAL TW TAGS: blood (though i refrain from posting/reblogging things with gore), flashing, eye strain.
i’m personally not big on anything that includes nudity or, again, lots of gore, so don’t expect much to begin with. however, due to the raunchy nature of the 90s and 2000s, potential dirty jokes may work their way in. nothing explicit, though. same goes for gory stuff as i do reblog stuff relating to horror games and a couple horror manga here and there. don’t expect anything too out there or disgusting but please keep that in mind when browsing. if you want more clean stuff, i suggest both filtering any above tags and using the tag listing to see anything from non-horror franchises or some friendlier companies like nintendo. i will reblog content for more mature rated games and manga, but not everything from mature material is explicit. if that still bothers you, again the tag listing is there.
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING SOURCES AND CREDIT:
nothing i post belongs to me unless otherwise stated. i mostly use fan wikis, mobygames, and creative uncut for images. stuff outside that general threshold that are irl pictures will be credited unless posted on a fan wiki (but i’ll try to include a link for the page i found it on). if you want me to take a post down, please privately message me and i’ll do so!
i hope you enjoy your stay on my blog, and thank you for reading!

I just realized I can make a pinned post.
Hello, welcome to my blog. It's basically Sims 2 at this point though I technically started it with the intention to post about whatever game I played... that just happens to be almost entirely Sims 2 lol. I do enjoy other games as well though and want to get more into them. I also love Sims 3.
Non-sim games I enjoy include (but are not limited to): Mortal Kombat, Pokemon, Racing games, Street fighter, Zelda, horror games and more. I recently got a PS5 and do also have other PC games and a switch as well as older consoles (xbox 360, N64, wii, PS2, 3DS).
For tags, Sims 2 always gets "TS2", Sims 3 "TS3" etc. Anything not about the sims gets "nonsims". I often randomly tag a lot of things, like names of the sims in the post/what hood they are in/etc, but those (TS2/TS3/nonsims) should always be consistent if you want to block anything in particular.
I'll add whatever game i'm talking about as well to the tags, like "mortal kombat" if I mention Mortal Kombat etc.
In Sims 2 I play rotationally (Mon - Thurs, Thurs - Mon). I don't play in a strict order, just making sure I get to everyone before starting the next round. I play a megahood with Strangetown, Pleasantview, Riverblossom Hills, Bluewater Village, Widespot, Downtown, Sim State University, La Fiesta Tech and Land Grant University.
In Sims 3 I play legacy style.
About me: My name is Tyler. I was born in February of 1989 and am an Aquarius sun, Aries moon, Libra rising and Venus Aquarius. Yes I am into astrology. I am Pagan. I am also a trans man and my pronouns are He/they.
I am also physically disabled, in multiple ways as I was born with VACtERL Association (yes it's capitalized like that for a reason as it's an acronym where you only need 3 of the letters at a minimum to qualify). I have chronic pain. I am also neurodivegent: Autistic, Adhd and Aphantasia. Triple AAA lol.
I love to read, play sims, write. I love art. I read all kinds of different genres, and age ranges. My favorite genres horror and nonfiction but I read pretty much everything. Contemporary, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Thriller, Historical fiction, Romance etc.
I also use cannabis medically, and recreationally, and am sometimes (not always lol) playing Sims while high.

I love how this is missing games like Returnal and Final Fantasy XVI, while also ignoring the conversation we should be having.
That game development has gotten to the point where people are spending half a consoles life cycle making one game. Costs and development times have ballooned with the demand for photo realistic graphics, open worlds with enough content to justify the open world, full voice acting....
It's essentially killed off the mid-tier/non-AAA games pool. Basically, if you want to sell a game, you need to either be hyper realistic or compeat with the dozen of other retro/pixel style games and you have to be long enough to justify your price tag (which is an incredibly dumb line of thinking when it comes to games, but that's a different post for later).
Then there's also the fact that Microsoft and Sony keep buying studios like it's an arms race. Some of them make sense (like Sony buying Blu Point), but right now it's basically both of them trying to one-up the other with how many studios they have under their umbrellas. And while that means there's a more secure publishing network/line, they're also more at the mercy of these big umbrellas. They have the power to scrap a project, layoff hundreds of employees, or close an entire studio because the cost is too much.
Which cycles back into how much more expensive it is to make games, which means that big studios have less incentive to take risks in the type of games their making, which means that we'll keep getting what have been getting all generation, because it's more expensive to make game. And the cycle goes on and on and on until studios realize that people will still play games that aren't photorealistic or a very specific retro style, that aren't dozens to hundreds of hours long, that have no substance sidequests, etc etc.
But I think the industry will need to face another collapse like it did in the 80's before we go back to the days of the late PS1/PS2 era. Where companies took measured risks into new ips and came out with genuine classics. And sure, some of those games are cult classics (like Vagrant Story) but the reason why that era of games is looked back on so fondly is because how many developers just went "what if we do this?" and they tried their best with the limitations the hardware had.
hearing "the ps5 is in the latter stage of its lifecycle" and laughing myself sick. NO GAMES

I feel more human :3.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will be posting my blog and content about Ps2 Horror game series? blog(s) with all sorts of content. All short & simple for archive reasons till i decide how to do video game essay videos on YouTube. Man i hate demotivation, i feel like my youtube is going no where and its not like i play boring games. They’re all pretty top notch ‘niche’ unknown games. It takes double the time editing the content for me than recording or pressing ‘start stream’ and its pretty upsetting… Many beans tell me to not give ups and i really can’t, i still have +3 more years of this before i can offically call it off. If i end up with a smol community that is fine, i will do 5 year plan making it 4 years left. I’m a simple bean and i did research on my voice even to see whats the problem with people saying my voice makes them fall asleep. Some people are cewl crackheads and like shoot funni joke dopeamine into ya skull, but my voice is basically a milf YAY. My voice gives off oxytocin which is basically what new borns crave from their mother, WONDERFUL. Google is like “yeah u are the cuddle chemical”. WHY I WISH FOR VIOLENCE
Orginal vid
Basically how it feels, why can i not be villian?! Well i must lay down and rest before editing a long fallout archive stream bc i accdentally said free the nipple dressing a settler and her clothes were not compatable (god end me pls) but i shal continue to hunt my psp stuff, the money for it is coming soon and im getting a job so. I must ask fast!!! THERE WILL BE NO WHITE PSPS LEFTTT

A list of games I want to make one day at Bramblewolf Games
Tumblr media
In production
The following games are actually actively at some stage in the process of being made. They probably AT LEAST have a dedicated notebook of me working out mechanics, themes, and goals.
Protect the Sacred
Status: In Production
Protect the Sacred has long since graduated from wall to full notebook (I'm actually on my second notebook),  but it started on the wall and I’m just now removing it.
Protect the Sacred, my next big game project, is an anti-colonial magical pulp adventure in the style of Indiana Jones or Hellboy where you play adventurers with folklore based powers working to protect, preserve, and reclaim magic, monsters, mystical artifacts and more and as living culture. On the cultures own terms. I’m planning a separate post soon describing my goals for the game on a mechanical, thematic, and narrative level. But I can tell you the original notes read things like “Inverse Indiana Jones- how ethical is ‘it belongs in a museum?” and “deconstruct the idea and role of a dungeon in an adventure...but keep the fun!”. But I think the biggest notes are “Anti-colonial, not decolonial” and “non-christian kitchen sink supernatural world. Let people define their own terms.” I can’t wait to show you how this has shifted and evolved already.
Brave_Heart
Status: Pre-production
The game currently in the lead to be the next thing to graduate from notebook. Brave_Heart seeks to be a digimon-inspired game aimed at kids that seeks to capture the focus on the childhood emotional journeys of the original. All while weaving in the Tech wonder/fear of the early internet, environmentalism, and the pseudo jungian psychology that made it feel like smt for kids.
Mechanically, I want it to be dice and math light and thus more accessible for kids. I’ve been looking at diceless games like Henshin (by reckoning, still the best super sentai game on the market atm) and thinking about playbooks inspired by crest. I think there is something of value in asking kids what do they like the most about themselves.
Having these playbooks build energy makes the human side important and highlights the “boy” parts of boy and monster. I think my biggest sticking point atm is...how I integrate the tags I would love to use to let kids build their monsters? How do I get that to mechanically matter? I got inspired by the digimon cardgame with a way to illustrate the building of data in a digivolution. But there is a big mechanical gap I got to fill about how to make the “digimon” interact back. How do I make the monster part matter without sacrificing the math-lite feeling? How do I make them feel like part of the same game?
Ideas on the postboard
(Unnamed) Streetfighter Tactics RPG
One day I would really like to make a hard core tactics rpg inspired by fighting games in the style of LANCER. I think taking fighting game archetypes and martial arts styles and turning them into “licenses” in the form of “belts” would translate way too well. The biggest hurdle here is likely the amount of intense testing and balance this would take. I don’t have the audience to push this one the way it’d need to be. My own internal sense of balance is just not at that level yet where I could do it all myself.
At least not for big tactics games where I have to worry about ranges, damages, and the balance of a status effects in isolation.
But boy do I want to make it. The intense combat focus would just make sense, and I know I could give it something satisfying narratively with enough time. My gut reaction would be to tie it into some themes about self-improvement and development. The effort and work it takes to follow a passion.
(Unnamed) Silver Disc Story/Space Fantasy
I really want to make a game that captures the vibes and feeling SNES to ps2 era jrps give me.  But what I have on the sheet has been slowly branching off into two different games. I can’t tell if I actually want them to be two different games or if this is something that needs to be one. A lot of this game is going to build off what Protect the Sacred is doing. At least if it works.
But one part of this game really wants to be a classic sword and sorcery crystal fantasy. Something with airships and magic trains that evokes things like the classic final fantasies. I’m a big believer that all the best fantasies have a train.
The other is a big sci-fantasy weird west that shifts the focus to an indigenous perspective. The idea of a post alien invasion world people are forced onto as a metaphor for a reservation. Complete with an evil parasite empire to fight against.
Maybe this is a sign to make a system with two different settings? if so, how do I make the game itself matter?
(Unnamed) Quirky Kids Horror
I would love to make a game that captures the quirky horror of things like goosebumps, fear street, and are you afraid of the dark. The type of horror that made you feel like you were getting away with something as a kid. I’d want it to focus on investigation and keeping it together over combat. A spooky cursed town full of strange things. Maybe add a town builder to make it feel like home, even if this cursed town always has the same name.
(Unnamed) Anti-Harry Potter Magic School
Fuck Harry Potter and fuck terfs, but if anime and x-men has taught me anything, there will always be a craving for a world were you could go to a special school, learn about your cool unique little powers, and have adventures with high interpersonal drama. Superpower class will always be more exciting than algebra.
But the thing that strikes me about these schools, whether we’re talking about HP or Percy Jackson, is that they are exceedingly eurocentric and white (the word halfblood wouldn’t show up in either text if they weren’t). PoC tend to be afterthoughts and set painting and I haven’t seen one not be shit and weird about indigenous folk. I want to challenge and push back on that. I think my tags system could bring a lot to a set up like this.
Delinquents
I want to make some sort of rpg very invested in the shonen battle anime and very specifically that delinquent with a tie to the supernatural. I have a lot of feelings about those sort of kids and figures like Yusuke Urimeshi or Ichigo Kurasaki. Most of them from being a problem kid myself and how society tends to treat you. I think there is something to talk about there. Kids like that deserve to imagine themselves as heroes.
Meddling Kids
"What if everyone in scooby doo was secretly a monster and solving very human crimes?" I actually really, REALLY want to do something with "Meddling Kids". The idea of secret werewolves using werewolf powers to solve real estate fraud via haunting sounds very funny to me. Like. "Well I know it's not a ghost. I KNOW what a ghost is. This isn't it."
But also what if instead of traditional monster, each species sort of were representative of an aspect of reality? Nature, conflict, emotions... They know the monster is fake because it doesn't conform to the rules of their hidden world
(Unnamed) Card Game RPG
I think I solved one of the internal lingering problems of how to make a deckbuilding tcg rpg work. It's the dangling tantalous fruit of the game devs. A many people want to tie character growth /to/ the deck which has so many issues. Not the least of which is any strategy would need to be scalable. But, what if you remove that aspect and make character growth be shown in a set of commander-type powers split into various playbooks?  Maybe growth could be shown in different ways. Narrative powers. Tricks. Player powers that could manipulate how you interact with cards or the field. Like "I make this into x kinda field" or "I provide buffs to these thing" or  "I can hand our shield or heals" "I can destroy x type of thing".
The deck becomes an expression of character.
The biggest issue this one faces would be I'd need to make a whole damn tcg on top of a whole damn rpg.

Narrative / Story-rich
The line between this genre and RPG is very thin. Narrative usually have little room for anything else but interactions with deep impact. Usually, it is a linear story with a “fake” sense of options. Many of these games are so hybrid that probably would fall under this classification or RPG.

Ayy thanks for the tag sorry it took so long to respond, I forgot to finish and post this
First messaging app: iPhone text messages, back when iPhone were a brand new invention boy doesn't that make me feel old af
Pickles, yes or no: Only dill pickles and my mum's pickled jalapeño jam. I refuse all others.
Playstation, Xbox, or Nintendo: Playstation baybee. Dad has a PS2 that I played all the time. My grade school bestie had a PS1 that we played during sleepovers. Got a PS4 for my birthday years ago and I still have the same one.
Favorite mythical creature: Unicorns. The slender, graceful ones are pretty, but my favorites are the non-traditional unicorns. Lions, zebras, etc.
Longest book series ever read: The Legend of Drizzt. I've read 15 out of the 39, but gave up when I couldn't find book #16
Best time to get out of bed: When you feel well rested enough to face the day, but not so snuggly that you want to go back to sleep.
Did you ever have a tamagotchi: Nope. A friend once asked me to watch it overnight for her, I forgot all about it, and it died. Never again.
Tagging @glbtrx @lordmorzan @ravangie @voidcreativity @yourlocaldragondealer

thanks for the tag, @starlit-hopes-and-dreams! fun questions to help me procrastinate my editing (because brain doesn't wanna word)? yes please!
i'll pass this along to @sarahlizziewrites, @unrepentantcheeseaddict, @thesorcerersapprentice, @isabellebissonrouthier, and @aziz-reads if you're interested, plus an open tag for anyone who wants to play :)
First messaging app: MSN
Pickles yes or no: fuck yeah pickles. pickled everything. cucumbers, plums, peppers, onions, cabbage, picklesssss
Favorite mythical creature: kind of cheating, but demons. of any kind. they're versatile and make my brain go brrrrrr
Longest book series you've read: depends on what you'd consider a series, i guess. a sequential, part of the same story series? probably the chronicles of narnia. non-sequential books in a shared universe? tamora pierce's tortall books (14 of i think 28?). for a children's series, the bailey school kids (however many my elementary school had; probably 30-ish out of 51)
Playstation, xbox, or nintendo controller layout: xbox. it feels the best and i can play it the longest without my hands hurting. SO happy the switch pro controller went for a similar layout (although i have to admit i have a soft spot for the absolutely bonkers controllers nintendo's had over the years)
Best time to get out of bed: since my brain pretty much refuses to sleep before about 1 am, no matter how tired i am, i like to stay in bed until 9 or so. my day job does not agree with this
Did you ever have a tamagotchi: yes! it spent a lot of time being dead. i reset that thing SO many times. and i just looked it up because i couldn't remember what kind i had, and apparently they evolved differently depending on how many mistakes you made with it? i guess i never noticed because i always had the 'lots of mistakes' one lol

Not another Simblr Tag
I was tagged by @madeofcc :)
Tumblr media
Rate in order favorite to least favorite, Sims 1, Sims 2, Sims 3, Sims 4: TS2/TS4, TS1, TS3 (I haven’t really played TS3 😅)
Favorite expansion: Superstar/Makin’ Magic for TS1, Seasons for TS2, Island Living for TS4
Small pets or horses: I haven’t really played TS3 so I have no experience of Sims horses. My sims rarely have pets ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Favorite active career: I haven’t tried all of them. Acting, probably.
Favorite LTW/Aspiration: something romance-related because my gameplay sims are immoral thots...
Whims, wishes or wants and fears: The wants and fears system wasn’t perfect but it’s better than whims.
Favorite occult: Vampires or aliens. I don’t play with occult sims too much.
Cowplants, Bonehilda or Social Bunny: Cowplants
Favorite non-PC Sims game: The Sims 2 for PS2. Fun as co-op!
Favorite spin off game: The Urbz (PS2), co-op especially!
How do you pick the names for your Sims: If it’s a random sim, I usually just hit the randomise name button (sometimes several times). If it’s a more important sim (for my story, for example) I take longer to pick a name. Or not, sometimes the name just pops into my head. I still do some research about the name origin (not always 😅). If I create a sim based on an ethnic group (Indonesian sim, for example), I look into naming conventions of that group.
Create a spouse or find them in game (townies): I’ll probably go with what the game has to offer (and then edit them in CAS full edit mode :)))))
Do you prefer following storytelling simblrs or gameplay simblrs: I like both. I’m terrible at following stories (I try my best but it’s not much 😭) but I stil like seeing story posts on my dash.
What year did you join simblr: 2014 (May). I posted mostly about TS2 until summer 2019.

NOT ANOTHER SIMBLR TAG
I love these but I often forget to post my replies lol *looking at my drafts* Thank you for the tag @yusims  ❤ ❤ ❤
Rate from favourite to least favourite:
3 > 2 > 4
Regardless of all the troubleshooting I had to go through during these years in order to learn how to play TS3 without possibly breaking the game, it’s still my favourite because of the open world. During my childhood I spent long hours playing TS2 on PS2 despite it being very limited compared to its PC counterpart. The one thing I truly will ALWAYS miss is being able to pick random ingredients and hope for a good outcome when cooking. I loved how random we could be instead of being limited to recipes. (please EA, let me be chaotic in the kitchen again) TS4 is good only for pictures, I get bored of its gameplay. ( ; ω ; )
Favourite expansion:
TS3: Ambitions (because Ghostbusters!) | Pets (although I miss rabbits) | Supernatural (because playing with normal humans is boring, right?) | Seasons (snow!)
Small pets or horses:
I love both, but having functional horses is a feature I enjoy a lot in my gameplay!
Favourite active career:
Ghost Hunter
Favourite LTW/Aspiration:
Don’t have a favourite, all of them are fun challenges~
Whims, wishes or wants and fears:
For my sims, anything that’s not ooc  ╮(^▽^)╭
Favourite occult:
Wizards
Cowplants, bonehilda or social bunny:
Cowplants
Favourite non-PC sims game:
The Sims 2 for PS2
Favourite spin off game:
As in, one that’s not in the main sequence (1,2, etc)? If yes, then it’s Urbz because that’s actually the very first TS game I played and oh boy, I know the entire OST from that game after all these years haha
How do you pick the names for your sims?
As an astronomy enthusiast, it’s usually star names. Otherwise it’s a reference to the stars. (´ ∀ ` *)
Create a spouse or find them in game (townies):
I create everyone and let them live freely. Most of the times they don’t get together with the spouse I’ve selected and just create chaos in my town lol It’s difficult being god.
Do you prefer following storytelling simblrs or gameplay simblrs?
I love seeing gameplay simblrs! But I appreciate all the effort storytelling simblrs have with their stories too, it’s nice to see The Sims can be enjoyed in many ways!
What year did you join simblr?
2016!

Not Another Simblr Tag
Tagged by @hiddenspriings and @nikatyler thanks guys!
Rate in order favorite to least favorite, Sims 1, Sims 2, Sims 3, Sims 4: Sims 3 > Sims 2 > Sims 4 > Sims 1. I don’t really have any reference for TS1 as I don’t think I ever played it though.
Favorite expansion: Hoo boy... Bon Voyage for TS2, Showtime, WA, or ITF for TS3, and I haven’t played TS4 in a hot minute but I always liked City Living.
Small pets or horses: Small pets definitely! I do like horses and wanted to try it with the next gen of the Lockes, but yeah I just wasn’t feeling it.
Favorite active career: I’ve always enjoyed Ghost Hunter in TS3 myself. That seems to be my go to usually. I also like the Singer profession too. As for TS4 probably Scientist.
Favorite LTW/Aspiration: Don’t really have any that I can think of :/
Whims, wishes or wants and fears: Wishes.
Favorite occult: Definitely witches! That’s the occult I like to go use the most often. After that it would probably be a close tie between fairies and vampires.
Cowplants, Bonehilda or Social Bunny: Bonehilda for sure.
Favorite non-PC Sims game: Sims Bustin’ Out for the PS2. I played that game so much when I was younger!
Favorite spin off game: Idk if it counts but Castaway Stories was really fun.
How do you pick the names for your Sims: Uhh it really depends.
With my berry sims I have a lot of the old berry name lists saves, so I pull from them a lot.
For vanilla sims it’s more varied. I’d say the majority of the time I’ll just go with whatever sounds right, or I might pull a name out that I’ve seen or heard recently. In some cases (such as the Lockes) I’ve been using themes per generation. So for example the generation 1 theme was planets so we had Mars, Jupiter, and Venus.
Create a spouse or find them in game (townies): I usually create them or get them from another simblr! If I do get a townie spouse it’s usually one of the SP generated kids from a bunch of random sims I’ve populated the world with.
Do you prefer following storytelling simblrs or gameplay simblrs: Currently I prefer gameplay simblrs, just because I don’t have much time to get on nowadays and sometimes my activity can be pretty spotty so it’s hard to keep up to date with storytelling simblrs.
What year did you join simblr: I don’t remember the exact date but if you look back on my archive my first post (which technically was a reblog) was from wayyyyyy back in December 2011 😳😳
tagging: @amixofpixels, @poisonfireleafs, @cherishsims, @dragonplumbobs, @vintageplumbobs, @cas-sims but feel free to ignore if you’ve already done this or don’t want to fill it out! :)

Thank you to @garden-eel-draws for reblogging this post and reminding me Katamari Damacy is a thing. As I said in the tags when I reblogged it, which is still in the queue as of writing this, it made me realize I got the Katamari Damacy Reroll remastered version in a bundle at some point and forgot to play it. I never had a PS2 so I only played a little of it before.
Turns out it’s still as fun as I remember, still Very Japanese, and still has one of the best soundtracks ever. I don’t actually have a ton to single out good or bad. Not having camera controls without a mode switch is kind of annoying sometimes, movement can get slightly wonky and a little less predictable than would be nice in certain situations, and getting wedged between two objects doesn’t happen often but is annoying when it does. Oh and I’m not a fan of the later challenges that do stuff like end the level when you collect any object of the specified type and score you based on how big of a whatever you managed to get. I appreciate that they’re trying to get you to approach the game differently, but I don’t find it fun, especially when some of the objects that qualify are non-obvious.
For the most part it’s rather clever though. The sense of scale and how it changes through the course of the game and just within individual levels is pretty great. The simple art style was presumably at least partly to keep costs down on a low budget game and to let them fit so many objects on screen on hardware that old, but it still looks good now. The sense of humor is still fun and weird. Just the general concept of the game is a great idea. And the music will always be excellent.
