other than my Crocodad DofuWani bullshit (which is now at 22k and yes this is the first im mentioning it here whoops its still only half done. send help) my other brainrot which i have been thinking about today is AceLaw.

More specifically, an AceLaw where they met shortly after Ace entered the Grand Line, started dating, Marineford happened as normal... And then the plot starts. With Luffy and Law and the insurmountable mountain of grief they're both shouldering.

I have something relatively short (2k) to post about it soon, courtesy of exploring exactly how many characters will discord let me cram into a single message (got to -8808 lol) over in MDL

Here's an excerpt bc i ought to make some use of this blog:

Pulling out the leather-bound journal, he set it carefully on Luffy's lap.

"Please don't destroy it. There's only this one copy."

Luffy glanced up at him, baffled. It was better than anger or sadness, at least.

Law motioned towards the book wordlessly and leaned against the desk; No description he could give for the book would be better than Luffy just taking a look himself.

He pulled the cover open gingerly, recoiling slightly at the sight of the first page. It was inked almost fully black, with only three coloured letters right in the middle of it: red A, blue S and yellow L.

Their first Jolly Roger, Ace had told him. The one they flew over the treehouse right up until they abandoned it after their brother's death.

Law supposed it might still hang there, if no one had bothered to take it down.

Luffy whipped his head up, staring at him with wide eyes.

"Keep going," Law encouraged. "He wanted you to see it, eventually."

Looking back down, Luffy turned the page. And then again, and again, and again, moving through the pages fast enough to make it clear he wasn't actually reading any of the words, barely looking at the pictures.

If he was anything like Ace, he likely couldn't read all that well, not even the carefully calligraphed words Ace had bribed Law into writing for him.

That was fine, though. There would be time for reading, later. Luffy already knew most of those stories, anyway. He had been there for them.

The only novelty would be getting to learn Ace's perspective on them; Something that, judging by his words, Luffy could clearly use.

It didn't take him long to reach the end, flipping the pages faster and faster until he reached the end of the filled portion. The few dozen empty pages fell towards the rest easily, opening the journal on the last page, the one Ace had most often returned to.

Luffy's hand carefully traced the edges of the portrait carefully inserted into the back cover.

"This..." he trailed off.

Law gave him a moment. When it became clear he wasn't going to continue, he filled in himself.

"Is Sabo, yes."

Luffy looked up at him again. There was old pain filling them, old tears.

"Ace had been working on it for a long time," Law elaborated. "I have a whole binder of his previous attempts, too. He wasn't happy with how this one turned out, either, but he said it was the closest he could get." And then, because he had been curious for the longest time- "Did he get it right?"

Luffy hunched his shoulder. "...I don't know," he said. "I don't- I didn't remember what Sabo looked like, anymore."

It's been ten years, to be fair. If someone had asked Law to describe Cora-san, he would have had troubles, too. Feathery coat, heart-dingled hat, wide lipstick smile, spikes under his eye, that much he remembered.

But how many spikes? Under which eye? What colour were the eyes themselves?

Time had an unfortunate habit of sanding away the details, taking the sharp edges of memories and tumbling them into blunt, opaque things, like sea glass.

It did the same to grief; That was the price you paid for healing.

I’ve been introduced to the concept of ace x law and I think I have the funniest possible version of this.

Luffy catches up to Ace in Impel Down and they escape. The government isn’t going to admit they let two high profile criminals with such complicated history get away and their connection to each other stays a secret.

They go their separate ways again and Ace either meets or reconnects with Law. Law has heard a million and a half things about Ace’s baby brother but he has not heard a very crucial fact, his actual name. Whether this is because Ace is secretive to protect Luffy or because the brothers are allergic to plot relevant information sharing is not important.

What is important is Law goes to Punk Hazard without Ace. He makes an alliance with Luffy and is perturbed at every turn by the Straw Hat crew. These people haunt even his dreams with their absolute nonsense. He has very few opportunities to bitch to his [boyfriend, casual occasional partner, fwb, qpr, however you want to see the relationship] about this horrible crew. Their conversations are short due to plot and there are other things he would rather talk about. So it somehow happens that he never says the name of the crew or the insane captain.

Ace is going to meet them in Dressrosa and Law is relived that finally he will have reasonable, enjoyable company. He’s waiting for them when they dock, but while they are still far away Luffy spots Ace and flings himself off the ship, tackling his brother and calling his name. Law is in shock, poor Ace is also caught in this annoying crew's trap? Why had he never mentioned? And then Luffy is calling out to Robin, Franky, and Brook and telling them to come meet his brother Ace.

Law just lies down right there on the deck of the Sunny while his brain bluescreens. Ace has to come pick him up and drag him off the ship.

A little AceLaw University AU drabble for your entertainment. I might make this into a full one-shot in the future when I actually know what I am writing.

Trafalgar Law stood in the kitchen quietly, folding the omelette onto itself in an effort to make tamagoyaki for one sleepy Portgas D. Ace. They had been a couple for a while now, a year and a half to be exact, though no one else was yet aware of their budding relationship. And for a good reason. Ace wasn't the type of person who liked to show affection publicly, not even handholding, and Law just didn't deem it important to disclose what his relationship was for he valued his own privacy, and was trying his very best to keep a certain relative of his from finding out. In the secrecy of Law's apartment, they were very affectionate in their own ways. The surgeon student was a bit of a cuddle bug, often sneaking his way either next to Ace or onto his lap as the latter gamed on the switch, occasionally stealing kisses from him.

Law furrowed his brows as he stared at his egg concoction. Out of the two of them, Ace was the one who cooked. The man had grown up as practically a savage due to his grandfather "forgetting" him and his brothers into the woods for long time periods, and as the oldest, he'd assumed the role of a caretaker to a degree. And for a child, what a caregiver does is provide food.

The tan man had seen people make this dish a lot on TV, but he had never really paid attention to how it was made. As he stared at the omelette, he couldn't help but wonder if the shape of the pan had something to do with the thing. Those ladies all had a weird rectangular pan, while his was more of an oval. The omelette was moved to the edge of the pan, and with a small ladle more of the egg mixture was poured in, restarting the folding process. As he worked on this very special breakfast, the first he'd tried to make to his boyfriend since his little pancake mishap at the beginning of their relationship, the tattooed man thought back to the very beginning. Their meeting and how they inevitably fell for one another.

He vividly remembered how the snow fell outside the library he'd hauled himself to for some peace and quiet. The scent of the chocolate latte and the grilled tuna onigiri filled his nose, mixing together with the vanilla like scent of the old books.

Law flipped over to the next page, dutifully making his notes on what he saw. He painstakingly hand copied the graphs that showcased some of the more uncommon yet possible placements of certain organs, like the heart, and under each drawing, he wrote down the procedures commonly associated with them. He stopped to stare at the graph depicting Dextrocardia, a condition in which the apex of the heart was located on the right side of the body. He'd heard someone refer to people with this condition as Mirror Humans before, one of the more famous cases of this spoke of a soldier who'd died due to ricocheting bullet piercing the heart, with the man's last words famously having been "Right side... the heart.. is on the right side..." Before he'd submitted to the injury. The management for it is...

Another student sat opposite to him, quite rudely placing their feet on the table in favour of leaning back. Law tried to pay no mind to it, though, as the snow on the student's commando boots started to melt, threatening the precious book and notes, he had no choice but talk to them.

"Would you mind not keeping your feet there? The melting snow will cause damage to the books I'm trying to read." He wasn't being particularly nice about how he said it, not even looking up from his doings, but the other guy didn't seem to mind this. "Ah, right.. my apologies", the other man stated, immediately moving, "I should have a towel in my bag-". Law huffed to himself, flipping to another page, soon resuming to his silence as the other person dried the mess they caused on the mahogany table. A while passed in the silence, the doctor-to-be felt the piercing stare of the other person. Not wanting to acknowledge this pest, he reached towards his coffee, and took a sip of it, closing his eyes as he so did. He refused to give the other any reason to talk to him.

"I'm an exercise and sports science major, names Portgas D. Ace, how about you?"

Shit. This guy was going to be a total problem for him.

Ace didn't really want to get up and leave the comfort of the warm bed he'd shared just a while ago with Law. It was one of the rare places where he managed to sleep well and feel safe. As he laid there, the scent of toast, butter, and eggs broke through into his consciousness. Curious, he finally rose up, freeing himself from the comforter burrito caterpillar he's turned himself into in his quest for warmth. Not bothering to even put on clothes, Ace tiptoed into the kitchen. Seeing Law so concentrated on making breakfast for them warmed his heart and made it flutter. He walked closer and enveloped the man into a hug. "I thought that you'd sleep longer," the soft voice of his beloved carried into his ears like the sweetest of melodies. He pressed himself closer against the tattooed man. Kissing the sensitive neck of the other raven, he gave his answer.

"As if I could sleep when the love of my life is so far from me.", "You dork."

So I should probably talk about this Au I’ve been cooking. Heart Pirates Ace! In which Law gets to Marineford a little earlier and managed to save Ace. Shenanigans ensue. Ace learns to fight with a pipe again. And all of the heart pirates ship him and Law because Law is a little oblivious

Modern Ace/Law/Reader is new brain rot

Warnings: Light NSFW, Ace is a flirty brat and Law enables it, Reader is described as shorter than both of them, not proof-read and is very shitty, wrote this in one shot before work.

[Name] was cooking dinner, wanting to surprise his two lovers. Ace had the day off of work so he had spent the majority of the day with [Name], while Law had to go to his classes during the day still.

[Name] had to convince Ace that they would be fine for a little bit while he went and picked Law up from his classes and brought him home. They were making some pasta dish with cut pieces of grilled fish as the protein.

The pasta was cooking as they grilled the fish, humming to their liked playlist they had started playing aloud to occupy the silent space of the apartment.

Ace and Law had stopped at the market to get some snacks and restock on drinks as they were low on alcohol and general drinks. So they came back a bit later then normally and they could hear faint music once at the door.

Law smiled softly at the faint music they could hear, indicating to them that [Name] was doing something. As they unlocked the door and went in, the smell of food hit both of them and saw their lover in the kitchen and in their own world.

The two went inside, Ace setting the drinks down as Law went to their bedroom, changing into more lazy clothing now that he was done with his responsibilities for the day.

When Law was done and came back, he saw Ace leaning on the counter that separated the kitchen from the the rest of the flat.

[Name] was singing along to the songs, the two males not knowing the current one from the start of it but noticed the large grin on [Name]'s face.

"And the girls say, 'save a horse, ride a cowboy'." [Name] sang along with their grin, unaware of the two who were watching him.

Ace felt his face heat up and grinned, waiting until [Name] was in a position that he wouldn't hurt them when they were spooked. He slinked over and wrapped his arms around their waist, watching them jump in surprise and yelp.

"You could've just asked darlin'." Ace teased and [Name] felt his face burn red and looked away from him.

"S-Shut up! I thought I banned you from the kitchen when I am working in here? Go bother Law, he hasn't been stuck with you all day." [Name] teased and Ace gasped, holding his lover closer and leaning down against their ear.

"Well the amusement in your eyes when you sang along was just so pretty." Ace teased, [Name] radiating heat.

"Bad Ace! Law, come get your annoying boyfriend from my kitchen!" [Name] called out as Law laughed, going over and leaning in the doorway.

"Hm? Last I checked he is your boyfriend as well [Name]-ya. You should've thought before you even saved that song. I think after dinner will be the perfect time to try that out. You do look hot in his hat." Law spoke, adding to the teasing as Ace let the other go and they went to continue finishing up dinner.

"I hate both of you. Get out of my kitchen. I am taking this." [Name] spoke as he grabbed Ace's had that was around his neck, putting it on with a grin. They knew the effect it had on the two and wasn't about to let them get away with the teasing and not get any back.

"Law, [Name] is being mean!" Ace playfully whined to the other who shook his head with a chuckle.

"You better hurry up with dinner if you want us to wait that long." Law spoke before grabbing Ace and leaving a flustered [Name] in the kitchen. The sizzling from the pasta boiling over getting him back to reality.

I have a fic idea last night: why not Ace, Luffy and Law love triangle? Law's a travelling doctor, Ace and Luffy are essentially hitchhikers and they run into each other frequently on their travels.

He meets Luffy first and Luffy clings onto him like a puppy. They dine-and-dash at buffets, explore forests/natural sights together and most importantly make out! Luffy's annoying but Law admits that having someone like Luffy makes things fun and he genuinely enjoys the endless trivia of facts Luffy has about insects and nature. "Oh! This bug's poisonous, don't touch that! The last time Usopp touched that he had a stomachache!" "Did you know that this rock is full of diamonds? Nami says a small chunk of it's worth like A MILLION BERRIES!" "This tree's as old as Brook! We should climb it!" They travel together some days and sometimes Luffy looks at Law with a very soft, somewhat unsure expression with stars in his eyes. And sometimes, Law looks back and smiles.

Ace, meanwhile is aloof at first. He's decisively not as chatty but Law knows fuck-me-eyes when he sees them. They fuck in Law's hotel room. On the bed, on the counter, in the shower, on the bed again! They do not stop! It is disgusting and messy but dang it Ace's so hot!! "I know gorgeous when I see it," Ace says as he nibbles on Law's ear. "So fucking pretty. Drives me crazy." They (trauma) bond the next morning and that's when they become closer and on talking terms. Like Luffy, they go on dates but they're more chill. They watch busking performances and drink at quiet bars at one in the morning. They end every date with heated kisses. Although they don't want it to be, they're well aware every date could be their last...

Also, Law has no idea Ace and Luffy are related! Law had only met them seperately after all!

When Law finally settles down, he's neighbours with a white guy called Sabo. To welcome him, Sabo invites Law to a family dinner with his brothers. Imagine how awkward it is when Law sees Ace AND Luffy show up together...

AceLaw Modern AU musings

I feel like Ace is the one most likely to end up in some sort of unhealthy abusive relationship in a modern au, without the same freedoms of the ocean, think he would try to escape anyway he can and that includes bad choices in partners before he finds his place in the world.

Law is second on that list, though he is much more likely to say no to relationships over all, depending on how much influence Doffy or Cora are involved xd

Gonna write an au on one or both. They would be unhealthy for each other at first but would settle into a routine thats healthier than anything either had, ever.

Imagining Ace already hurt by a previous partner and tired, while Law is still in the middle of it.

Ace about to be a homewrecker because he sees the same situations he was in once.

The AceLaw feels hit me out of nowhere xd.
