• I’ve been roleplaying since what feels like forever. I started super young one summer before school started up, and I’ve been on-and-off ever since. I began in roleplay groups roleplaying Harry Potter, then got really into The Vampire Diaries-verse, and have also enjoyed Percy Jackson, supernatural town, royal rpgs, and a bunch I’ve popped into over the years.

• I do come from a land down under *cue the flute*. So AEST timezone, but my schedule is alll over a lot of the time.

• I’m looking to rp over discord. Fair warning, I am still getting the hang of rping on there and I have no idea how to do real fancy stuff but I’m a quick learner so we’ll be fine. I still feel like it was yesterday when I dragged my feet big time transferring from roleplaying on facebook to tumblr. Ah, time flies.

• I’m a very easy going person! Your length, I’ll match. Your ideas? I’ll pretty much lap up everything. Hate fandom rp? Cool not an issue at all! Hate oc rps and prefer fandom? Wicked! If I don’t know the lore well, I’ll wing it! Struggling to get a reply out? No stress! I’m well passed putting so much pressure onto things that they feel like a chore. I’d love to chat about our ships and discuss fc’s and get excited and really have some fun!

• I play mostly female muses! I know, I’m so terribly cliche, but I am pretty meh with male muses. Although, it’s been a long time since I’ve given it a go and I’m always happy to compromise! Very much wanting sapphic plots too!!

• I’m open to smut and most ideas! Don’t like super dark kinks or anything too out there but, again, always willing to try new things within reason! Plot and smut should be balanced. I also have no triggers.

I WOULD RISK IT ALL FOR THESE PLOTS:

1) Based on a fave book series of mine, but honestly does not need to have any relation to it and can be adapted to any ideas. Basically, girl runs away from home in her mid teens, meets guy around her age who takes her in with him and his guardian who have some secrets, turns out they’re *some type of supernatural creature idk can be whatever we like*. Turns out she has some illness that he can’t cure alone and he has to agree to hand her over to his enemies so that they can cure her, but it also will wipe her memories and she will forget her life before. Fast forward a few years, he’s never stopped protecting her but he’s never gotten close because he can’t bear it. She just happens to go with her friends to the club he now owns. Drama ensues.

2) ““oh, can we take it nice && slow?” two strangers who meet every weekend at a club. nothing but first names are shared. they use each other to relieve the stress of their weeks. hot && heavy dancing. making out on the dance floor. on occasion hookups in the corner of the club. but the moment they leave the club, it’s as if they don’t exist. their chemistry is electric, but there unspoken complications in their lives that they just understand. it isn’t until a new monday comes around && she walks into the office to meet her new boss. oh, shit. her weekend hook up is her new boss. she assumes he’s married with the ring on his finger, she has no idea he’s widowed && he has no idea that she has a child at home”

3) “OR hey what about a historical plot where Muse A and Muse B are both next in line to the throne of their neighbouring countries that once used to be one nation. There’s been a push for many years to unite the kingdoms once more, and many want Muse A and Muse B to marry in order for it to happen. But, Muse A and Muse B absolutely hate each other, and can’t stand the idea of being around one another. Until, they’re forced into the engagement by their parents, and are made to spend countless hours with one another. Lots of bickering, and tension ensue, as they get closer asdfjkl”

4) “plot where ‘i had a bad break up with my ex of 4 years who cheated on me, and treated me like dirt and wow i just found out i’m pregnant and he’s the father so here comes the emotional breakdown and late night pounding on his front door. But oops you’re not him, you’re his brother and you’re being really kind to me and calming me down, and those kisses on the top of my head are so new to me.’ also referred to as the plot where Muse A is pregnant, her manipulative ex boyfriend is the father, however Muse B aka his brother had always had a thing for Muse A. The night Muse A comes banging on his brothers door while Muse B is staying there for a while, he consoles her and decides to help her through the break up and pregnancy. However feelings get involved, drama, fights, and his older/younger brother isn’t so happy about it. Yes pls”

5) “maybe a plot where muse a and muse b broke up like five years ago and then muse a got a call from muse b’s parents telling him that she got into an accident and had temporary amnesia and only remember the time when they were together so they’re asking him for a favor to go back home?”

wasted so much time assigning the tcsm friend group/my friends' muses as ffxiv classes:

leland - paladin boy i shan't lie. just some guy with a sword and shield that is very devoted. he's your offtank that stands beside u and puts cover on the main tank or the healer or dps to take the hit and is like [coughing up blood with 8 vuln stacks] im good (: also bc standing in front of the squad w paladin protective light wings goes crazy. paladins aren't always the best main tanks but they are great support offtanks and have a ton of healing/shielding abilities like intervention. can take the heat off you by redirecting damage that u would have taken straight onto himself. tank stance called iron will (: he could also be a gunbreaker bc thancred sexy dumbass gnb energies but i just dont think we should let him have a gun.

connie - machinist or summoner - i just think that connie should get to have a gun that she built herself and also automaton queen to defend her who she also built herself. machinists are specialist dps that are not very tanky bc they're phys ranged but they do big numbers. they're versatile and mobile and also she gets a flamethrower and poison? also ability called wildfire teehees. mch whole thing is just rebelling against the lame people who dont want u to invent new shit but u do it anyway. i think she could also be a summoner bc she gets a lil carbuncle bestie. and yeah the weapon is a book but she can summon the primals like a big phoenix nbd. also a lot of party utility in that she can buff the team's attack and healing, resurrect people, and heal.

danny - dark knight - danny (renee's danny TO BE CLEAR) is a tank be so for real. the whole dark knight thing is no matter what i will always be with you protecting you. not to call him out but you have to be Inherently Going Through it to even be a dark knight. it's also like, the rebel tank class compared to the more royal guard types... their tank stance is also called 'grit'. their visual theming is all shadowy but in the most 'i love u i am ur tank' way. u can summon fray who is like shadow u to fight with u. u can put the blackest night on ur teammates to protect them. also ur invuln ability? it's called living dead and you straight up have to die to activate it and if the timer runs out without u getting healed u fuckin Die for real. but if you do enough dps to heal urself/ur healers care u you come back to life with even more dps

maria - white mage - white mage is a nature magic healer, who can channel elements and light, and is the strongest pure healer in the game. earliest whm quests are about going around healing dark places in nature and being in tune w the natural world. also got some holy energies bc ur abilities turn to bright light at a later level. uses light magic angel wings to protect their team and can summon a big flower that heals everyone. uses lilies to heal teammates, which powers up the b l o o d l i l y bar so u can cast afflatus misery and nuke an enemy after you do a certain amount of healing. whm rly like The Most Healer but also every whm i know including me goes a bit sadistic sometimes bc we do super big dps for a healer- anyway

donnie - gunbreaker - wait the truth is donnie is the sexy foolish thancred energy required to be a gunbreaker. ur weapon? a gun that's also a sword that shoots magic rounds that come from ur own aether/life force bro. gnbs have a lot of utility and are more dps-y thank some other tanks are. all the gnb mains i know are chaotic tbh. idk their abilities also go sicko mode w the names. demon edge? demon slaughter? no mercy? brutal shell? heart of light/heart of stone/heart of corundum? also superbolide is their invulnerability and u know what u do? u shoot urself with ur own gun go down to 1hp and are invincible for a time. gunbreakers are like bodyguards for hire in their story they are kind of doing their own thing and sticking to loyalty to their homies which feels donnie. to be fair i can also see bard bc musician moment but i also see dragoon bc chaotic melee player vibes. dragoons are called floor tanks for a reason bc they are tanking the floor dead-

johnny - warrior bc warriors pull up with their giant battle axe are feral and unkillable and then they hit that rage mode (inner release/infuriate etc) where their eyes go red and their dps skyrockets. they have literally so many mitigations that heal both themselves and their teammates that usually scale in healing by how much damage they do to an enemy. like mmm blood. delicious. im so for real tho when im healing a warrior in a dungeon they pull wall to wall enemies and i barely have to heal them if they're good. their abilities are called shit like shake it off, bloodwhetting, onslaught, berserk, primal rend, decimate, thrill of battle, overpower, u see what im getting at bro. also their tank stance is called defiance. ur just going sicko mode but also ur protecting ur homies.

ana - monk or warrior - i know that ana is A Tank but i don't know if any of them are truly The Vision. but melee dps are basically tanks and have the highest aggro so like. if the tanks die the boss immediately turns around to beat ur ass-- no but monks are very versatile. they are tanky martial artists who also provide team utility and have a lot of ways of healing/protecting themselves. all the monk players i know will be surviving shit they never should have survived i will tell u that. anyway i think she could also be a warrior bc warriors never die they have 50435345245 mitigations and they can also protect their their team. pain is nothing bitch-

sonny - scholar - sonny is giving 'tired but dedicated shield healer' energy so sincerely. scholars weapon is a book, their intellect, and a fairy summon that heals the team. scholar is a technical class with a lot of versatility and utility, can buff the team, can make em run super fast to escape boss mechs, can put down giga shields, can clutch save ur dumbass tanks life. can cover a lot of areas, do a bit of everything. i also think it's so cute to think of sonny w his little fairy eos/selene.

julie - dancer - julie is fr sure dancer bc everyone wants to be dance-partnered by her bc being dance partner means she gives you special buffs. and also she's hot. dancer is also super team utility focused, they do less damage overall in exchange for buffing her teammates, being able to heal and shield as well. very mobile, uses funky chakrams for weapons. playing dancer is hilarious sometimes im like [dancing and crying while my teammates are dying around me]

The 1619 Project (untold and overshadowed history of Black presence in American history.)

The Body is Not an Apology by Sonya Renee Taylor (on the body positivity movement. I tried to include some uplifting books this month.)

Making Our Way Home by Blair Imani (Black migration post-civil war. This had a lot of overlap with the 1619 project, but kinda fills in where it dropped off in the late 19th century)

The Sun Does Shine by Anothy Ray Hinton and Lara Love Hardin (memoir, the true story of a Black man who spent decades on death row for a crime he did not commit. Super intense but so worth the read.)

Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers (queer contemporary realist fiction, women in STEM, mythology podcast, negotiating relationships with controlling parents)

The Living Wisdom of Howard Thurman (audio recordings of various speeches and sermons)

Ain't I a Woman by bell hooks (Black feminism in response to erasure from white women and Black men).

Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments by Saidiya Hartman (private life for 19th century Black communities. There are a lot of sad stories, but also some really fascinating looks into the Harlem Renaissance.)

Sister Outsider by Audre Lorde (essays with a wide variety of topics. I loved the essay on travel in Russia.)

Sorrowland by Rivers Solomon (technically I finished this one in March but I'm going to count it). (kinda genre-bending, speculative, vaguely Afro-futurist, vaguely alternate history? The religion worldbuilding was really fascinating and this book gave me a chance to muse on my own experience with a high-control group.)

I really tried to lean into the Black History Month theme this year, and I'm glad I did because the themes from one book start weaving into the next. The immersive experience added a lot. It also motivated me to read more than usual? It's amazing how many audiobooks I can get through when I'm not listening to all 60ish hours of the Locked Tomb series on repeat for three months.

the  official  holiday  of  love  might  be  over,  but  romance  is  never  truly  out  of  season.  with  their  ten  year  anniversary  coming  up,  renee  carlisle  and  her  wife  taylor  moreno-carlisle  are  inviting  the  entire  company,  employees  as  well  as  all  signed  artists,  to  the  love  themed  party  of  the  year.  having  gotten  married  relatively  privately,  they  have  now  set  their  mind  on  making  their  anniversary  a  happy  occasion  for  everyone.  keeping  their  plans  to  renew  their  vows  at  this  occasion  private  for  now,  all  everyone  knows  is  that  this  event  will  include  a  live  set  by  danai  herself  and  endless  love  themed  amusements  for  the  guests  to  take  their  minds  off  of  their  daily  struggles.  renting  out  a  gigantic  old  farm  venue,  they  spared  no  expenses.  from  a  fair  with  several  love  themed  games  and  rides,  to  taking  boats  out  on  the  nearby  lake  and  feeding  the  swans  or  sending  cute  notes  to  your  loved  ones    —    there  is  no  end  to  the  amusements  one  might  find  here.  there  is  only  one  rule,  renee  and  taylor  are  asking  guests  to  leave  their  phones  at  the  front  gate,  wanting  to  keep  this  event  private  for  the  safety  and  comfort  of  all  its  more  or  less  famous  guests.  but  does  everyone  truly  follow  those  rules  ?    who  knows.

it  isn’t  all  to  often  you  get  invited  to  an  undercover  vow  renewal  super  bash,  but  it  is  certainly  reality  for  everyone  working  at  revolution  records.  so  now  it’s  time  for  your  muses  to  pack  their  things,  maybe  form  some  rideshares  and  make  their  way  out  of  the  city  for  a  weekend  of  fun.  generally  speaking,  they  are  invited  to  stay  there  from  saturday  around  noon,  until  late  afternoon  on  sunday.  their  stay,  including  accomodations  and  food,  is  paid  for  by  the  carlisles,  who  felt  after  their  super  private  wedding  the  vow  renewal  party  should  be  all  the  grander.  the  only  thing  they  request  is  for  all  the  guests  to  leave  their  phones  at  check-in.  this  party  is  expecting  a  fair  amount  of  high  profile  guests  and  they  are  supposed  to  feel  safe  and  free  attending,  just  like  everybody  else.  however,  there  might  be  some  ways  in  which  your  muse  could  trick  the  system.

saturday  is  the  time  for  partying  and  exploring  the  grounds.  there  is  certainly  enough  time  for  them  to  get  around  to  all  the  experiences  the  pair  has  prepared  for  them  as  well  as  catch  up  with  all  their  labelmates  and  co-workers.  they  might  also  send  out  roses  with  notes  to  their  ( more  or  less )  loved  ones,  that  will  be  delivered  on  sunday.  sunday  will  start  with  a  celebratory  brunch.  for  this  reason,  guests  have  been  asked  to  follow  a  semi  formal  dress  code,  encouraged  to  wear  outfits  with  red  or  pink  colours  to  celebrate  the  love.  the  brunch  will  be  followed  by  the  actual  surprise  vow  renewal,  featuring  a  touching  speach  by  cfo  nikhil,  and  celebration  afterwards.  there  will  be  champagne,  there  will  be  cake  and  pictures  taken  by  the  hired  photographer  but  most  importantly  a  performance  by  danai  herself.

Nearly Headless Nick: An earthbound soul.

One of the main themes of the Harry Potter series is Death. And within this theme there are several sub themes including an exploration of earth-bound immortality (the series also explores metaphysical immortality).

 This is largely conducted through three main characters/story arcs: 

Nicholas Flamel and the Philosopher's stone

Voldemort and the Horcruxes 

Nearly Headless Nick (for the purposes of not having to type out his name I’m going to call him Nick from this point on)  and the ghosts. 

In this meta I will explore the philosophical underpinnings of ghostly existence. Although like the metaphysical philosophy I’m citing this will be more of a musing then a definitive meta. 

1.0 The Headless hunt: Nick’s search for purpose 

Throughout history philosophers and theologians have grappled with ideas about the meaning of life and as a logical extrapolation, the idea of immortality. 

Throughout his body of work, the British philosopher Bernard Williams grapples with the desirability of immortality. And he explored the concept of what he called ‘ categorical desires,’ - the earthly desires that keep us alive (or in the case of ghosts keeps earth-bound existence meaningful). These can be defined as obtaining a degree, starting a family etc. 

However, Williams argues that categorical desires can be exhausted by both satisfying them and losing interest in them. Even with the prospect of eternity, categorical desires are exhaustible. When discussing a play by Karel Capek (which explores the immortal life of a 342 year old woman, Williams states that: 

“Her unending life has come to a state of boredom, indifference, and coldness. Everything is joyless” (Williams,1973:82).

It is worth noting that this play explores a corporeal woman who can influence the physical world around her. 

However, Nick does demonstrate ‘categorical desire’, and his need to join the Headless Hunt can be read through this lens: 

“But you would think, wouldn’t you,” he erupted suddenly, pulling the letter back out of his pocket, “that getting hit forty-five times in the neck with a blunt axe would qualify you to join the Headless Hunt?” CoS

Through this desire, Nick is attempting to bring meaning back into his existence, to work towards a desire in order to fill the unending void of eternity.

2.0 The earthbound soul 

Within the Harry Potter universe, the ghosts linger in the liminal space between life and death, veritable proof of an after-life yet having no knowledge of it.

Indeed Nick states that he: 

“I……was afraid of death,” said Nick. “I chose to remain behind. I sometimes wonder whether I oughtn’t to have ... Well, that is neither here nor there... In fact, I am neither here nor there...” He gave a small sad chuckle. “ OoTP

The ghosts are earth bound, yet cannot influence the physical space around them nor partake in any earthly delights. At the Deathday party, Harry asks one of the ghosts (who was floating through the rotten food): 

“Can you taste it if you walk through it?” Harry asked him.

“Almost,” said the ghost sadly, and he drifted away." CoS

Yet they are conscious and have ‘memory’ of who they were when they were alive. Nick describes it as: 

“........an imprint….”

“ upon the earth, to walk palely where their living selves once trod….” OoTP 

Indeed the  construct of ghosts within HP,  are congruent with the philosophical thinking of Rene Descartes. 

In Meditations on First Philosophy, published in 1641, Descartes states that: 

“ There is an outer world, which includes my body, but I could still exist even if it were all destroyed.”

He later furthered this idea, by merging the idea of mind and soul and exploring the dualism of the physical realm with the mental. In a letter to Princess Elizabeth of Bohemia, Descartes writes: 

“…..These arise…from the close and intimate union of our mind with the body. This list includes, first, appetites like hunger and thirst; secondly, the emotions or passions of the mind that do not consist of thought alone, such as the emotions of anger, joy, sadness, and love; and finally, all the sensations….”

This sentiment echoes the ghost’s desire for food which is a recurring theme within canon. Indeed the first time Nick is introduced he states: 

“I haven’t eaten for nearly five hundred years,” said the ghost. “I don’t need to, of course, but one does miss it.” PS

Within the HP universe, the idea of an immortal soul is a recurring motif. Yet the idea of an earthbound soul free of its body is one which is either deemed morally repugnant (in the case of horcruxes) or the shadow of human life. 

In conclusion, while providing comic relief and a sense of wonder, the ghosts can also be interpreted as a metaphorical interpretation of immortality. And whether an immortal existence is a desirable one.

Cocoa Memories

So me and @whimsicalrogers​ came up with this idea I hope everyone enjoys this happy but also angsty little fic. 

Rowan is our lovely character that @whimsicalrogers and myself have came up with and are so excited to share with everyone a glimpse into Rowan :) she will be appearing a lot in future fics :)

​His house may be big and fancy no expenses were spared on this place but there was always one thing missing well someone missing. Ransom sighs as he opens the cupboard reaching for a cup as a packet of swiss miss falls out. Ransom stops his eyes take in the package he runs his fingers over it.

“Marshmallows was always your favorite.” He whispers as he thinks back to those memories when his life made sense when he was happy and had the best person in his life.

13 years it’s been since he’s seen her his Ro.

-Flashback-

“Ran! I know you’re out here!” Rowan looks all around for him. She pouts it’s cold out here and she was wanting to enjoy her coco with Ransom.

“I’m going to leave without you Ran!” Rowan stomps her feet as she heads inside Ransom’s grandfather's house. She walks by a big pile of leaves.

A wild mess of dark locks jumps out of the pile and pounces on Rowan. She squeals as they fall to the ground.

“Pinned ya!” Ransom giggles quoting Lion King as they roll in the leaves together. Rowan laughs at him.

“Ran! You scared me!” He smiles at her his big blue eyes shine with so much affection towards her.

“Sorry, my bee.” He kisses her nose as he grabs her hands and holds her close. He stares into her big brown eyes as he smiles big. He notices her cheeks are getting red he frowns as he feels how cold she is.

“Oh, no let's get you warmed up.” Lacing his hands in hers he leads her inside.

“Cocoa time!” Rowan gets excited as Great Nana Thrombey, helps she smiles they were such cute, sweet kids. Out of all the grandkids her great-grandson had to be her favorite. He was such a sweet polite little boy who reminded her a lot of Harlen. She smiles watching as they make their cocoa.

“Whip cream Ro?” She nods smiling as Ransom gently swirls the mugs of cocoa. Great Nana Thrombey just smiles.

“I’ll be in my study if you two need anything.” Ransom smiles at her as she leaves them. Ro grabs a dab of whip cream and places it on the tip of his nose. Ransom laughs as they sip their cocoa together.

“Ro will you promise me we’ll always be like this just you and me forever?” Rowan smiles at him as his blue eyes glow. Rowan takes a hold of his hand she squeezes it as she smiles brightly at him.

“Forever and ever Ran. You’re my Ran for life.” She whispers as Ransom leans over and kisses her nose again.

“Forever my Bee.”

Ransom sighs as he sits at his counter staring at the packet of hot cocoa how he wished that would have been true. How he wishes Rowan and him would have been together forever.

When she moved away Rowan promised she’d write and call which she never did. Ransom always waited for a letter or a phone call but sadly they never came so, he gave up. The smiling happy little boy didn’t exist anymore, and Ransom became cold and cruel the asshole everyone knows.

Sure, they were young 13 and 14 when Rowan moved away. What did he expect? She dropped him as soon as she could. 

Ransom just stares at the hot cocoa packet and frowns his heart turned cold losing his bee. She was always like a little honey bee buzzing around happy as ever. When she moved, she took all that joy and happiness with her. 

Taking a breath, he picks up the hot cocoa packet and drops it in the trash. No more memories of Rowan today Ransom didn’t want all those painful thoughts to hit him. He needed a distraction as he grabs the keys to his Beamer and slipping on one of his wool coats he needed to bury himself into something else forget all these memories of her.

“Eat Shit.” He grumbles storming out of his house and squealing the tires as he drives out of his driveway.

Rowan sits at her favorite little coffee shop as Renee smiles at her as they talk about a fun weekend planned. 

The waitress sits down their order as Rowan takes in the sight of the whipped cream mug of cocoa. Taking a deep breath, she brings the mug to her lips.

Images and memories of a brown-haired boy with big blue eyes flash in her mind as she thinks about him. Gently blowing on the drink she whispers to herself.

“I hope your happy and safe Ran wherever you are.”

Sorry for the angst ending there but if all goes well a future story is in the works all about them!

COLLAB CALL!

On the 6th of April, year 2018, I decided to stan NCT and support Lee Taeyong with everything. And I can’t remember my life before that. So to celebrate my love for Lee Bubu and for NCT in general, I just had to do something.

So because of my love for ‘FLY ART’ and Lee Taeyong, this writing collaboration or exhibit for NCT’s leader Lee Taeyong will focus on famous romantic paintings.

This may be a Taeyong exhibit, but if you wish to write for another member and join this collab you’re 100% welcome. But let’s prioritize Taeyong please.

DEADLINE will be during the month of JULY.

Dance on the country by Pierre-Auguste Renoir - Celebrating the love between a man and a woman, this painting appears to be a joyous reflection of them. Both figures appear too different from each other, yet choose to be together. Impression style is used to draw the intimacy between two people. Taken by @yutasgalaxy

The Honeysuckle Bower by Peter Paul Rubens - A gentle touch of their hands portrays intimacy and warmth. The painter deserves appreciation for his ability to use brilliant skills to paint dramatic and high-class clothing. The dressing plays a crucial role in letting us know that the couple is a high society couple. It also has the theme of gender and love. While the man hardly smiles, his wife seems cheerful and happy, implying the different approaches towards the love between the two genders.

The Jewish Bride by Rembrandt - Both of the subjects are dressed richly. A beautiful portrayal of emotions can be noticed in the painting. While both of them are physically close, they do not look into each other’s eyes. We see them lost alone at the moment. They are so mesmerized by their intimacy that they even forget to look at each other. Almost nothing can move them. Taken by @prettyjaems

La Surprise by Antoine Watteau - The lady is carefree and submits herself completely to the arms of her lover. Both of them embrace each other while kissing. However, the third figure is not so much in love. He is holding his guitar. Even though he is trying to play the guitar, his focus is on the passionate couple. On the other hand, a couple is unaware and carefree of his presence. They just can’t notice him playing guitar. The guy sitting alone realizes that even his music can’t reach the lovers’ ears. He is there with his tunes alone.

The Kiss Gustave by Klimt - Intimacy is shown by the way the individuals are locked with each other. The resemblance seems spiritual. A man kisses the woman’s cheek, she shies away.  The romantic painting is still present in Vienna’s Museum. With thousands of admirers flocking every year, its fame only increases. The painting doesn’t let us see the face of the dominant man but gives the spotlight completely to that of the lady. They embrace each other as if they have seized. The Birthday by Mark Chagall - This was the painting that he painted just before their marriage and thus holds a significant value in his life. This sets out to be a wonderful self-portrait of the artist and his lover, Bella. While Bella is given full spotlight, an artist himself doesn’t really show much of himself. We can reflect on his love for his muse and how much she mattered in his life through the stage sharing in the painting.

Self-portrait as a Tehuana by Frida Kahlo - The positioning of Diego at the forehead of Frida is vital. Frida does this to depict how she can only think of her lover and ex-husband. He was a womanizer and didn’t ever commit to their marriage. Even after getting cheated on, her love for Diego didn’t reduce at all. She has painted a spider web around her head probably to signify that only Diego resides inside her body and mind. The use of Tehuana, a traditional dress worn by her in the portrait, contrasts with her emotional state. Despite her sadness, she produces various romantic paintings that earned her reputation among admirers and also critics. Taken by @jeontaeil

Le Printemps (Springtime) by Pierre Auguste Cot - It captures young love and its beauty. Young lady’s hands are wrapped around her lover’s neck, while he admires her pretty face. Her white dress signifies the purity of love. It is also the depiction of love itself is the most spiritual experience. The most unique feature of the painting can be the sunlight falling behind the couple. It is painted beautifully and is almost unreal. Taken by @alreadyblondenow

A Romance by Santiago Rusignal - This portrait shows a woman playing the piano while a man stands by her. The painting can be seen as a simple one with its domesticated setting. The woman is lost in the moment as she plays the piano while the man is lost as he listens to her tunes. Both have a calm and also composed face which shows a very relaxed environment. The Farewell of Telemachus and Eucharis by Jacques Louis David - Telemachus keeps his hand on the thigh of Eucharis, while she hugs him with sadness on her face. Telemachus is the son of Odysseus, who loves Eucharis. Both are passionate lovers. However, Telemachus has to leave the comfort of his town and lover to fulfill the responsibility of being a son. He has to go on a search for his missing father. Colors are used to draw the contrast element. The red and blue dresses strike majorly with the flesh colors of the subjects.
