dianne zatara was directly made from one of zatanna’s failed magic sourcings. dianne doesn’t have a last name, so she just used zatanna’s since zatanna technically created her. magic can very easily backfire which resulted in the birth and crafting of dianne.

she’s a homo magus as well and also casts spells using the backwards method, but in italian. it doesn’t work if she casts her spells in english. her magic is a red kind of aura, like how zatanna’s is blue or indigo.

while zatanna can’t exactly care for a ‘daughter’, dianne has set out on her own with some help from the former in magic knowledge. madame xanadu is her guardian and dianne helps her around her store.

anyway her pairing is with conner kent / superboy / kon-el. she’s about 19 years old in human age, probably like 3 in her magic conscience ygwim??? similar as conner so like… #meanttobe 😜

I don't know if the community at large understands what an OC is anymore. Like. There's fandom OCs, where you create a new dude to live in an extant setting. There's fandomless OCs, where you create a new dude in either a new world or applicable to all worlds. There's OCs who were formerly canon related, such as when you were really into a franchise but ended up developing your original dude so contrary to later established lore that you just pull them entirely, or you so fell out of love with the source material you pack up a decade plus canon dude and start sanding them down away from the shit views of the creator. There's player character OCs, where you get to write your dude you played in an rpg. Many roads, same result.

Then there's some stuff I've seen recently that is baffling to me.

People filing serial numbers off of a popular FC's role and claiming that Blarbo, the 6'3" chainsaw wielding vampire clown whose FC is internationally recognized white man du jour Large McHugebig written for the Murderous Mimes of the Multiverse fandom, is totally different to Blorbo, the 6'3" chainsaw wielding vampire clown whose FC is internationally recognized white man du jour Large McHugebig, from the Murderous Mimes of the Multiverse film series. People can't actually think that's original content, surely. That's very clearly the same character with token adjustments. Why would you not just play Blorbo with some divergences or personal lore?

Or people who have purported to write OC concepts off of barely fleshed out canon elements, which is usually one of my fav OC bases... Except wait, that's literally a canon take on that concept from an extant adaption. Yes, Count Blorbinski's wife is an unnamed figure in the original novel, but the 1999 anime 'Blorbinski's Bouncy House of Doom' said her name was Blorbentina. How... Coincidental that your OC for Countess Blorbinski is also named Blorbentina. And has the exact same backstory and dynamic with the Count as from the anime. And you use the 1999 design for the Countess as her FC -- This isn't an OC, as much as you keep saying it. Bouncy House of Doom is one of the most popular anime out there too so how did you think this was going to work? Again, why would you not just play the 1999 version of this character instead of presenting her as your own creation?

More and more often I see 'ten years ago this would have been an AU/fandomless blog for a canon but today we pretend this is original content' blogs pop up. I feel like if I rolled up with a Calishite Warlock named Cal'aydin who was bonded to a wind spirit and was fighting depression after his brother's death as well as the forces of the BBEG, you guys would righteously call me on 'this is K*ladin St0rmblessed reskinned for D&D. You didn't come up with any of this.' But more and more I see 'original content do not steal' except? It's already extant IP with one or two concepts changed to suit the mun's tastes. Everything else remains very clearly the work of [insert household name creative of the 20th-21st centuries here.]

It amazes me how often I see these blogs pop up, and just how popular some of them are. I cannot wrap my head around it. Like, it's their blog, they can do whatever, as long as they're not profiting off someone else's creative labor it's not a big deal. But it is one of those 'has become more common in the community lately' things that makes me want to stand up and ask 'is anyone else seeing this or am I just going crazy?' I feel like I'm in the minority by not caring for this trend/new definition of 'original character' just based on how often these blogs cross my dash.

straying away from aliona for a bit to introduce my second dc oc, olivia choi! she’s the younger sister of grace choi of bana-mighdall, is associated with artemis grace as acquaintances and has been serving as wonder girl for a little bit.

she, just like her elder sister, grace, is an amazonian from bana-mighdall of korean descent. the sisters were separated and grace was used as a child comfort woman until they reunited thanks to the outsiders team. speaking of aliona, she and olivia are friends!

olivia is 16-17 years old and currently in a relationship with duke thomas! (totally not a twelfth night/she’s the man ref…) they met when teaming up in the outsiders team and found out they attend the same school. originally, they met from getting partnered up in a science project.

despite being from bana-mighdall, olivia and grace have gone against the norm and had relationships with men even though the bana-mighdall women despised of them. a few other bana-mighdall women have done so too, including artemis grace who knows both of them.

i’m still thinking of an alias for olivia when she’s in the outsiders team, but this is like the very first version of her. i’ll probably add or subtract more information about her soon! for now, she’ll be wonder girl, after donna troy and cassie sandsmark!

hi!! just curious because i was looking thru ur blog (please feel no need to answer this, i don't have any negative intent!!) and i was seeing a lot of rp resources but u say u dont support krp and stuff!

personally i've never been in the community but i was looking at joining it to get back into writing while using some of my favourite artists as fcs but, is the community problematic?

hellooo anon!! don't worry, i can tell that you're genuinely just curious and looking for information. roleplayers and other community members who are asian have made their voices heard on the subject of krp and express discomfort, to my own understanding, at the idea of non - asian muns exclusively playing asian ocs in spaces where culture can be an after - thought and race bending is upsettingly common. additionally, there has also been concerns raised that these spaces can have fetishizers.

i would attach the common links other muns do, but the last time i actually checked, the posts either no longer exist or the accounts have moved and the links have therefore expired :( perhaps a look through the anti - krp tag might help. again, as i am not an asian mun and i cannot speak on behalf of them, i strongly recommend doing some further research to give justice to your understanding, and to the voices that have spoken up. what i have supplied is a general summary as to what i understand, and should not be the one post read on this matter.

i don't think it's wrong to use your favorite artists, though! as long as your muse list is inclusive of other races, and care is taken to appropriately reflect each fc's culture.

if anything i have said in this post is wrong, or i've missed any key information, please let me know in the comments of this post. i'm keen to improve my own understanding and to provide correct information.

can you say anything about what happened in cloud9? so we know who to watch out for in the future

i'm just going to give a little bit of insight, i don't want to add screenshots until the muns involved have given the okay. tw: anti-blackness, misogyny, mentions of sexual content, ableism

the reason cloud9 closed was because a member (or multiple) had gone to the admin about how the negative subtweets during a draft drop had made them uncomfortable. the admin had made multiple tweets asking the group to avoid doing that sort of thing. completely understandable and reasonable! however, the admin had gone to a black muse's mun and told them they were creating a hostile environment and creating an unwelcoming space for others. mind you, there were many people dropping negative tweets during this draft drop and that language is just not appropriate when speaking about a black person. when the mun responded and asked for more detail, the admin sent one last message blocked them so they couldnt respond anymore. PLEASE BE MORE MINDFUL OF THE LANGUAGE YOU USE TOWARDS MUSES AND MUNS OF COLOR PLEASEEEEEE

after members called the admin out, they posted a thread saying there were "harmful allegations" (allegations? we had seen the dms they sent the mun. it wasnt allegations.) and that they were only trying to issue warnings. there was no real apology ever given. not a good one at least.

when then found out who this admin was. the character wasnt very inclusive, didnt exist out of their ship, and just completely showed favoritism to their own character. they said someone else (who did way more to be inclusive than they ever did) was unwelcoming, but couldnt even be bothered themselves. i'm telling you right now, the members did more for the group than the admin did. from games to movie night to making sure every single intro and selfie got traction. they were wonderful people and so inclusive.

not to mention the passive aggressiveness when confronting any of the other muns about anything. talking about "backseat adminning" over NOTHING. normally i am alllll for admins and on their defense team but a lot of the people who came forward about how this admin treated them were absolutely not in the wrong.

after all this, they deactivated their muse's account, the main account, and their ship partner deactivated too...

another person spoken about was a former member of the group. this person made 15+ muns uncomfortable.

there was an instance with ableism where they were incredibly aggressive towards someone with autism after a miscommunication issue.

there were many instances with misogyny where he talked nasty about "fem-presenting" fcs. ESPECIALLY, if he was dickriding their potential ship partners. he would talk shit about them to other muses and even talk about wanted to fuck their partners right to them.

he sent unsolicited dick AND ass pics (i don't know if everyone experienced this but my muse did and it wasnt just one time.) it doesnt matter if this was a smut group, majority of the muses and muns here knew how to respect boundaries. this person absolutely did not.

back to the dickriding, BOTH of the characters this mun played only really spoke to men and couldn't hold conversation with many people outside of sex talk. again, yes this was a smut group. but my muse had a sexual connection with two people the entire time they were there and had AMAZING friendships. even 30+ dms a day. if you're only in a group (ANY GROUP) to have sexual connections, maybe you shouldnt be joining any groups.

nobody felt like they could say anything because feeling that uncomfortable with both a member AND an admin can make it extremely hard.

i hit 10 image limit... but i dont think either of these muns will be in poki but i am VERY sure that the amount of people that stood up for each other today, will let the admins know if there's something to worry about. and if you werent in cloud9, do not let this deter you from poki!!! looking at the apps, these are wonderful potential characters and these admins have put a lot of hard work into it. but if ANYONE makes you uncomfortable in ANY group, please talk to them directly or if you're nervous about the confrontation, go to the admins. your feelings are important and, if theres anything i've learned from this, a lot of people might feel the same as you.

I do not mean AU interpretations, I mean your muse as a person, the basic traits that make them that character.... there is more to writing a character than just saying you do. fluff, angst, or smut : I get so BORED with fluff so FAST idk what that says about me but probably nothing good. So ANGST and if its done WELL I do love me a good smut thread ;)

plots or memes : Uhmmm either tbh. I dont usually do the ask to thread thing, I like ask for one shots OR ask trains. I also love plotting threads Like the one I have with @bunnyblooded for the rewrite the stars verse, and honestly all of my threads with @multi-royalty With Madison in the fire starter verse.

long or short replies : A lot of my particular writing style has a lot of internals and thought processes so even my short ones tend to be long.. which honestly gets overwhelming quickly when I have a million threads, so Im slower on replies... but I don't mind single para or even one liner chats sometimes! Those just don't tend to be long term threads.

time to write : Jesus its so sporadic. Honestly my biggest issue with writing is just doing it. Once I open the draft and start typing the reply comes out no issue, I dont even have to think it practically writes itself... but its the getting there that gets me. Every time.

are you like your muses : I am most like Katherine tbh (and Nova but that's cheating shes practically a self insert from my book) And because Im a lot like Katherine IRL I am also a lot like Elena, since they share almost all the same traits- good and bad. I can be like Lexi sometimes and Rebekah too. I am a social chameleon so really it depends on the people and situation im in, but I am most like Katherine. Yes that includes the over competitiveness, the selfishness, carefully and sometimes extremely poorly masked insecurity, and impulsive rage.

platforms  you’ve  used : don’t @ me okay , it was neopets like 14 centuries ago agfhraf. tbh thats where i learned custom html and page editing with graphics , etc. so i kind of cut my teeth aesthetic and world building-wise there. there was a brief month or so where i discovered that rp was a thing in the game ... but then someone on one of the forums mentioned that i should look into tumblr as a platform. that was probably 13/14 years ago

best  experience :  aside from the wholesomeness of meeting people in this community , honestly i gotta give a nod to the fact that i learned so much and was able to really evolve my creativity skills with likeminded people. i’ve also loved when wholesome collaboration leads to an amazing rp world / group , seeing people love and flourish within a rp group that i made / make and run is a really awesome feeling.

rp  pet  peeves  /  dealbreakers :  it’s always been , for me , muse collecting or fc collecting. like within a group with no muse cap , people who snap up the most Aesthetic fcs and have 8765 of them , barely use them or they’re all the same character seasoned slightly different .. and in the indie world it’s that and when people like ?? duplicate storylines that you worked hard to create with a different muse/mun without even checking? i’ve had so many ideas stolen that way. another one of mine that’s always been an issue is when you put in a lot of effort to establish details and content to give your partner ample things to react and interact with and then they give you back like ... two lines and maybe three syllables of dialogue. and also people fetishising my masc muses and leaving my fem muses to the wind , ick , get ready to catch an unfollow and the dropped threads if i feel that way.

fluff,  angst,  or  smut :  it’s angst , smut and then fluff for me — my muses dont lend themselves to over-softness and fluffiness , i usually have one ( lia flowers rn ) who is a softer character but just happy-life-no-drama-wholesomeness bores me ajkf gimme chaos and something i can delve into and explore the ic reactions , monologues , psychology , etc of it.

plots  or  memes :  i always live in fear of the mistake of over-plotting ... like when you flesh out so many ideas that the concept of writing through the known journey and storyline loses its appeal. i like a good skeleton plot and context and then to let the muses flow as they see fit , i have definitely grown to love the meme threads because i feel like it’s a perfect way to dry-run your muses against another - whether an au or not.

long  or  short  replies :  i am incapable of less that two thicc af paragraphs and i will not apologise ( yes , i will , endlessly, it’s my toxic trait ngl )

best  time  to  write :  late afternoon - evening time for me , which is a dangerous game because when i should be sleeping or getting ready to wind down all my fkn partners are coming online ajkfh.

are  you  like  your  muse(s):  there’s pieces of me in all of them ; vida knows how to live off the land and how to stand through poverty and not having a home , errick channels his anger into physical activities and upped his skills because of it , branden guards himself and his secrets without flinching to protect himself and those he loves , lia looks to achieve praise for her diligent work because she criticises herself endlessly , vik doesn’t want to be tied to family expectations but is too moral to abandon them , and tiathia’s moral compass is modeled after my own.    the intricate details such as personal habits , likes, affinities , etc ; they’re inspired by things that i like , and lbr here .... the Spicy Blog and my muses Spicy Details come from my own brain.

in regards to live action fc's thats a good question, in all my years of writing on tumblr i've primarily written cartoon fc's / written against other cartoon fc's and i've never actually engaged with any predominantly live action muses? admittedly i am a little hesitant because once again its difficult for me to imagine any of my cartoon muses interacting with live action muses but i suppose it just depends on the character and the verses the mun writes them in! not completely off the table, just depends on watcha got! once again, feel free to shoot me an ask from your blog and i'll reach out!

Rules and Guidelines

⋆ This is my primary blog, a central hub for my indie RP, mostly focused on fandom characters cannon divergent and OCs, but with Fandomless options as well. I can be a little Selective but mostly not really, i just want to write. Mun is 25, Dm's always open. i'm at GMT-4 timezone. writting in ENG and PT - BR. I use only tumblr, no discord, no other sites for roleplay.

⋆ Most of my characters have their own blogs for their threads and scenes, you can plot with me here or directly on their blogs. you can also start a thread with them at any time on their ask boxes or tagging on a scene. Test muses dont have their own blogs till i'm 100% sure they will stay, meanwhile their scenes are here.

⋆ My Blogs will contain mature writting, from gore to smut and other stuff, BUT I will use "read more" and try to put a warning, opening it will be your choice. I will not write smut with minors, dont lie your age please, if you are under 18 we can make SFW scenes and threads. As much as i like writting smut, fading to black is an option if asked, otherwise we will play it out.

⋆ Its easier for me to write from a female perspective, i have males too but far less and i'm more selective with those. I do my best and know some personalities I can't portrait. My preferences are f/f, f/m and m/m in that order from most muse to least and if given the option I'll always prefer f/f.

⋆ Muses are 18y or more, with plot adaptations for fandom's that would normally make sense for them to be younger, like a school for example will also have a college course. I will consider 18 to be legal age for all things, as it is where I live (tattoos, alcohol, etc). But I will have 21y verses for who don't rp with muses younger than 21 or feel more comfortable with that minimal age.

⋆ I have fandomless verses but between fandomless and fandom verses I prefer fandom. Too much liberty makes my brain go blue screen and too little is a turn off. Fandomless is not equal to mundane so if you want a realistic thing only, please tell me before hand.

⋆ Mun is not muse, my muses may have some problematic actions/thinking, I do not condone these actions myself, its just fiction.

I do write with plot and certain limits: age gap, dub-con, D/S, a/b/o, tba.

I dont write in a ship form but may write for background/npc: non-con, abuse, hard drugs, pregnancie, cheating, tba.

HARD NOs in any form: body fluids, anything with animals, tentacles, tba.

⋆ If there are any triggers you want to avoid please tell me, I'll do my best to acomodate your needs and make you comfortable. My only triggers are animal death/abuse.

⋆ I always accept all kinds of ships as I see it completes the character story, so friends, family and other relationships are so very welcomed.

⋆ I roleplay for over 10 years, but this is my first time using tumbr, I'm still figuring stuff out, pc and mobile app, please be a little patient if I ask a few "dumb questions". That + English is not my native, tumblr lingo is still a bit tricky. But I try very hard to write as well as my portuguese scenes.

⋆ So far my format is normal size or small size, speach either in "" or separate with —. I use "read more" in most scenes but cannot use if you prefer. I'll use medium or small gifs when the FC have sources and go gifless or static image if they dont have gifs. If you prefer something different, we can talk and i'll adapt as much as possible. I just ask you dont use gif icons, they are too small for my eyes.

⋆Sharedverse separated by fandom, all my stories and characters from a fandom are connected, meaning they are soloship within each verse, if the character is multi fandom each fandom is its own verse. I don't mind you having multi-verse/multi-ship if thats what makes you more comfortable.

⋆ I dont start threads expecting romance or intimacy. My ships are mostly chemistry based but i do have a few crushes that are easier to get my attention. Androgynous and alt fcs are some of my weaklinks.

⋆ In general I'm not selective of fcs, if its not cartoon/animated is ok for me, cartoon/animated fcs is a maybe, but my few Banned Faces are here. I dont care for fc doubles, I can write weird similarities into plot, and like to sometimes, but i dont like double characters normally.

i think like... i know you dont speak on twitter rps! but I think the main solution to avoiding weird muns is to bring back apps. i know they can lie about the details but like... bring back having to describe a character before accepting them. banning a type of fc has never been the solution

we are twitter rp veterans and refugees so while we haven't been in one in a long while, we do speak on them and enjoy hearing about them! i agree that banning a certain type of fc has never been the solution, and i do have a preference for semi-apps when i'm adminning because it makes certain things about the mun clear. - x

imo, gifs just help other muns get into threads more and provide a visual reference for other muns. (and yk, they're pretty.) but it's def not the most important thing. you could perhaps add a photo of your muse in your pinned intro and/or make your sidebar a clear portrait of them, if they lack gif resources.
