tw: cancer, death, child death, and just... fuck. bad headspace

So chances are good that I’m not gonna be around for a little while.

I know I let you guys know that my grandmother passed away of Stage 4 liver cancer at the end of October, but since then? I’ve lost two more family members. First, my ex-stepbrother passed away of a sudden onset seizure--I found that out the night of my grandma’s funeral. And then on Sunday... my cousin’s newborn lived ten hours before passing away of unknown causes.

Yeah.

It’s... it’s been a lot, you know? More than I’ve had to deal with mentally in a long time. To say my head and my heart both aren’t into things is... well, it’s an understatement.

I’m sorry for being slow to respond to RPs right now, or for not reaching out. I do still love yinz, each and every one of you. I just...

Why is it too much to ask for some good news?!

I’m sorry for being absent for the last little bit. My grandmother is... a little over two months ago, the doctors told her she was cancer free, right? while prepping for an unrelated surgery a couple weeks back, we found out that she’s got Stage 4 liver cancer--and last night when I took dinner over to her and Grandpa’s house, she was... I had to call 911, and she’s in the hospital for a severe infection, not to mention the considerable pain.

Right now, my focus is just... it’s shot.

Grandma passed away yesterday. Her funeral is Sunday.

I doubt I will be around much until then.

Apologies for my absence, yinz. I’ve been wrestling with the side effects of some new medication, and it has knocked me on my ass. I’m gonna try to get a couple drafts done, tho!

My presence will be sparse over the next few days. It’s my roomie’s birthday tomorrow, then the local annual festival is over the weekend. I live in the same area of the festival--as in it’s about two small blocks away--so the chaos will likely keep me too occupied to write much. ♥

I’ve done my annual watching of Jon Stewart’s post-9/11 speech. I don’t know if I’ll be able to get my brain to where I can write today, but... yeah. Today’s a strange-feeling day for me because I was seventeen when it happened, so I remember everything--and not only that, but I live in Pennsylvania, so the response here was... it was a lot, especially after Flight 93 went down.
