It’s blatantly obvious to anybody even remotely close to Dean that he doesn’t really  do  strong emotions, unless it’s anger (everything negative always turns into anger), and there’s no point claiming otherwise. He just wishes Cas wouldn’t... put it out there so directly. It is, in all honesty, one of�� Dean’s favourite things about the angel,  the... the straightforwardness. But when it’s directed at him like that? It’s too serious, too deep, he doesn’t want to get into it. Yet it being Cas, Dean feels like he owes him better than to shrug it off with a self-deprecating line or two.
