#and from dude to gigolo if i have anything to say about it#baby i can the sweet mama to your sad and lonesome#this was so fun to draw my favorite hobby is historical fashion#are they accurate? not answering that. i refuse to draw codpieces#at my heart i am unfortunately a coward#i know i gave dandy kayne a short haircut at first but then i remembered all the mullets ive been seeing and i had to give it a try#i hope it looks like he as having fun throughout the eras <3#malevolent#kayne malevolent#but anyays like i as saying theres no ay king is appearing regularly in a three piece suit and not bringing that energy to#every other century#and i almost drew him in like plate armor but if he’s like snapping his fingers and ppl explode bro is not gonna get a suit of armor#that was wishful thinking on my part i remedied it he dresses like a bourgeoise i have to accept it#if i did this with the yellow king it would be like 5 inages of the same dude copied and pasted#i started giving the yellow king a pennanular brooch and even then i as like whoah thats kinda lavish for john#i dunno maybe i should fuck around with his robes and try some stuff out#hmmmmmmm i do like jewelry……….#new project: project runway but with john doe#and then eventually ill help poor arthur out#tho honestly i think he really probably dos have an eye for quality clothing i think he’s probably respectably fashionable but he#cares more abt quality#id love to put my boy in a fishermans sweater tho i feel like he needs something warm and sturdy on his journeys <3

#so my mom's wake thing was today and that was a lot. not in an emotional sense but in a im standing here talking for 3hrs#to ppl i dont kno or barely kno. ya kno? but it was good bc so many ppl showed up to talk abt her#so many people. my mom made a huge impact on the school system. so many ppl relied on her. she encouraged at least 2 ppl to get their#master. for one person to specilize in helping the dyslexic after her experience advocating for 3 dyslexic daughters. she wrote and was#awarded a 10000 dollar grant for special needs and intervention curriculum. which will affect so many lives.#everyone loved her. she's gonna get a track meet named after her and a scholarship created in her honor.#she was an amazing person and she affected a lot of lives and im glad she was my mom. and she raised at least one jem in my littlest#sister who is so sweet and is a great teacher. god but there was some weird stuff too. were pretty sure her old boss was in love with her.#and there were some weird comments abt her being a strong woman or this woman doing so much and its like hm y do i detect a note of sexism#y not say she was an amazing person? y the surprise? weird comments about how pretty i looked. which yes i looked great lol. my funeral fit#was cute. we did bright colors bc it was a celebration not a dower event. and im sure it was ment well but it was a lil weird. and then#everyone was telling my grandma what a great job she did raising my mom and like god fuck off she didn't do jack. my mom was great despite#her terrible mother. ugh. but altogether it was good that everyone was able to express their love for her. it was def a day that was for#them mostly. i mean partly for us but mostly for them. none of us even cried. ay but we have 2 more parties in her honor#bc everyone loved her so much we have to do one in her hometown too. plus a personal friends get together. ugh. im so tired#i wish i wasnt the most awkward. eye contact avoidant person in the room but like ya kno. what can ya do?#unrelated

[Posting early because I will be heading to bed early + likely not online much tomorrow]
It takes some doing to track down Scanlan: he and Kaylie, sometimes just he alone, have been bouncing from city to city, continent to continent, with any whim. Easy access to Teleports or Transport via Plants will offer that sort of freedom.
She finally finds them - and Grog - in Marquet, Grog hauling an absolutely gorgeous dining room set through the doors as Vex pads up.
“Bidet!” Grog says.
“Grand Poobah.” Vex grins back, miming tipping a feathered hat. To her dismay, Grog furrows his brows, more somber, before adjusting his grip on the table and chairs and heaving on.
Still hurt about Percy’s refusal to join the rescue mission in Pandemonium, it seems. Not that she can blame him, but getting Percy and Grog in the same city is difficult.
Struck by an idea, Vex cups her mouth to holler after him. “Grog!”
He pauses. “Scan - sorry, the Meat Man’s prolly just down the hall in his office.”
“I know.” Vex takes long strides to catch up to him - Grog, watching her with confusion, slows to allow this. “I wanted to talk to you first, though.”
“Oh? ‘Bout what?”
“There’s a very important job I want you to do, for the wedding,” she says gravely.
That gets his interest. “Really?”
“Really.” She makes the decision on the spot: “Would you do the flowers and leaves?”
“Do the what?”
“Before I walk to the altar.” Vex mimes gently tossing petals, sacred leaves from the Sun Tree. “Like this. It takes a very, very strong arm. And it would be a great honor for the Grand Poobah to do it.”
Grog considers this seriously, scratching his chin with the foot of a chair. Delighted, but a little reserved. “It would be good for someone of my station to be there,” he agrees slowly. Vex watches him swallow, expression knitting itself over and over as he figures out what he’s looking to say.
