Black Hole is the best character ever guys (part 2763)

Like it's so cool how BH's very existence is an aberration towards nature—both in terms of what he is and what his goals and personality are 👀 !!!

Black holes break the rules of our physics, for one, but they are also seen as these inherently destructive monsters in popular culture. Yet BH tries so hard to protect his friends anyway—he defies his "nature" every day. The fact that he even has friends and can compete at all is unbelievable and continues to be a struggle with his inability to get close to anyone. And then the universe (apparently?) makes awful things happen when he prevents death on top of that: the forest catching on fire, the fish eating Two alive, the zombies??? If I were BH, I think I would go crazy. It's like the entire world hates him, and it's so unfair!!!

But BH is also such an optimistic person, and I love him so much for it. He was optimistic about Pillow changing her ways back in Death PACT. He was optimistic about his team helping Tree out despite their disagreements and about Pin and Donut keeping Fanny safe in TPOT 8. He was optimistic about the zombies and the stack in TPOT 9 ("Have faith!"). Of course BH wouldn't give up death prevention so easily—his entire character is defined by him pushing through despite everything. Of course killing Tree would only make him double down even more...which leaves me so worried for when he's inevitably cut down.

Despite what BH is, and despite whatever contest or "force" working against him, he's never going to stop until the bitter end. Until it ends up destroying him.

So being the curious silly I am, I googled what it means:

It's a Yiddish term that means "little bird", and is commonly used to mean "a gay man". I found a Reddit thread where someone explained that it was used in the same way the f slur was around the 18-1900s

It's been reclaimed and is now commonly used as slang between queer and Jewish people

how is the songwriting process for you?

i think 'hmmm i should write a song' for about two to four months and then write one in two days completely unprompted hehe

usually i have lyrics first and a general sort of melody or at least rhythm of words, and then chords later. any extra instruments other than the main guitar are extra for if i'm recording it which generally only happens if it's being submitted for school. like i have one song at the moment which is pretty good but i havent even thought about more parts for it yet & probably won't until i have to properly record it next term. sometimes i change lyrics around if i don't think they mean much or if the vibe got distracted.

i find lyrics are easier to do first than music cos like i have this really good pj harvey style riff but i dont know how i'd even begin fitting vocals to it??
