Dub Doffy is definitely the sort that would fool me. Sub Doffy I’m on my guard from the get-go cus of his voice cus it’s so deep and confident, commanding and just overwhelming it tells you “I’m a god, get on your knees.”, but Dub Doffy is more like “Come on, darling, won’t you make me happy and get on your knees for me?” and both are PERFECT. Dub Doffy captures that charming essence that people get tricked by. By people, I mean ME.

I will say when Sub Doffy softens his voice (and it happens) he is charming as well and WOULD trick me too. Whichever situation, it’s a lose-lose for me, is all I’m saying.

You can tell Dub Doffy gets the ladies. Like… you can TELL from his voice.

Both Sub & Dub Doffy are perfect, they both have their own strengths. I’m just curious how Dub Doffy will go when he LOSES his patience and all those veins pop. I hope it’s as terrifying as Sub Doffy. We shall see.

just finished the demo and i really liked it. especially the world and characters. i admit in the beginning i had the feeling that the story moves too slow, but this changed quickly to excitement.

i have a few questions:

1.) at some point some choices had emojis added to them. since they only appear with arthur so far i assume that they have something to do with romancing arthur? anyways could you explain what exactly those mean? i think one was an embaressed face and the other someone fencing?

2.) something i noticed was, that neither MC´s appearance nor their personality bars changed over the course of the demo. is this a bug or simply not integrated/coded yet?

3.) how important will the personality bars/choices we make during the early chapters (like being angry at arthur and the adults) interms of the story? will they greatly influence it and potentially lock you out of certain choices/endings/romance? or can a angry and well... more evil MC get a good...er ending?

4.) do you have an update schedule, like trying to update the IF every few months, or is it more like "you update, when its finished"?

i also found 2 bugs. i hope its alright i add pictures of them here:

A) when clicking on the arrow at the top of the screen to then click on e.g. your character "sheet", there is one option called"relashionship". clicking on it leads to a page containing something along the lines of "doubleclicking to edit".

I'm glad you like the characters and the world since I work a lot for it. As for the progress of the story, I admit it may seem slow, but it simply follows Mc, a simple, quiet life in the prologue and chapter 1 that accelerates in chapter 2 until it becomes extremely confusing with everything that's going on.

As for the emojis, yes, they're the first point of romance. That's how it works.

🤗 This one is for this variable $ArthurRofriend, so basically does Mc see Artie as a friend it's the platonic choice

💋 this one ($ArthurRoboldlove) comes into play if your Mc is well aware of his crush on Arthur and is more assertive.

😊 This one ($ArthurRofriendmance) comes into play if Mc is friends with Arthur but there's a possibility that this friendship will turn into more over time. Although Mc isn't fully aware of this at the time.

😎 This one ($ArthurRofriendvale) comes into play for the most self-confident Mc, those who have a friendly rivalry with Arthur and whose feelings may evolve into something more.

💗 this one ($ArthurRoshylove)is for the Mc's most shy about their feelings towards Arthur.

2.) 3) not coded yet ! I'm not a big fan of stats, per se. But I do track the actions and words of your characters that have consequences. I don't want Mc to be blocked by certain choices unless they're radical. There's always a chance to evolve, to redeem.

4) Up to now I've been updating every 10,000 words, but I've noticed that a lot of people prefer to play at once and wait for the chapters to be finished, so more regular updates will now take place on Ko-Fi and I'll post the next public update only when chapter 2 is finished.

I'm still struggling with this sort of thing.

5) The bugs have been squashed, so you shouldn't have any more problems with the next update.

Pairing: Romantic/Platonic

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Overprotective/Possessive behavior, Manipulation, Subtle yandere, Mentions of war, Violence, Isolation, Murder implied, "Kidnapping" (He doesn't let you leave the ship but you originally went on willingly), Imprisonment, Jealousy, Dubious/Forced companionship/relationship.

Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

Most, if not all, of your time is spent on the Shadow of Intent. As a member of Rtas' crew you rarely see solid ground unless you're docking. Even then Rtas usually orders you to stay on the ship.

Due to being subtle, Rtas isn't very intense with his obsession or affection. Sangheili aren't the most affectionate species anyways. He mostly shows he cares through private chats and maybe gifts.

Perhaps when he was still fighting in the war... he would've been more intense. Yet now he's primarily diplomatic. There's times he's aggressive with fellow Sangheili... but for the most part he treats you with respect and care no matter his intentions.

He knows how to take a tactical approach with his obsession.

Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

Having been a soldier in the past, Rtas isn't new to bloodshed. Especially as a Sangheili. Battle is a deeply rooted tradition in his culture.

If a Sangheili ever was out of line around you, or he had to defend you, Rtas will prove to them he's still ruthless with an Energy Sword.

Rtas is good with hiding his jealousy and not lashing out... but part of him still yearns to duel due to his warrior's spirit.

Especially if it meant keeping you by his side on his future journeys.

Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?

Rtas most likely wouldn't "abduct" you. You originally went onto his ship for work. It was just when Rtas refused to let you leave that things turned sour.

Rtas would not mock you. He treats you with respect and is incredibly attached. He makes you the best under his command and tends to your needs...

He merely asks you stay on the ship for him all so you can never leave him.

Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

Other than not leave the ship without him? No, not really.

Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?

I personally like to think Sangheili are a bit... poetic/sophisticated in their culture. Be that honor in fighting or ways to express their care. That's a personal HC of mine.

Rtas cares a ton for you, but he knows better than to show vulnerability. When you're alone you can tell Rtas expresses care for you in his tone. Everything from possessive tones to caring tones or even voicing praise... he's able to express his feelings to you when he wants to.

Besides that he'll aim for showing care subtly around other crew members.

Rtas would feel undermined or dishonored. Why do you fight him? He is your Shipmaster and companion. He will not stand for your rebellion.

Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

No and he would hate it.

Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

Him sentencing you to the prison cells on the ship. The Shadow of Intent was originally a Covenant Carrier if I recall. So that does mean he can put you in a cell if you are so insistent on leaving.

The betrayal and degradation you'd end up going through would probably be the worst. He refuses to harm you... much.

Ideally making you a companion and second-in-command by his side. If he has romantic intentions... then he plans on courting you.

Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?

Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?

If he does, Rtas knows to hide it from your view. He doesn't lash out until he corners the crew member who irritated him. Even then he prefers threats as a way to "show claim" to you. Outright slaughter isn't what comes to mind unless it's deserved.

For the most part he'll hide it.

Overprotective, Possessive, Respectful, Caring, Devoted, Manipulative, and Threatening at times.

Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

You'd start off by meeting him as a new member of his crew. As you work on the ship, you grow closer to your Shipmaster. He's subtle with his care but you can tell you have a bond.

Soon... perhaps you get too close to the Shipmaster...

Leading to you being locked away in the ship's prison.

Not really, no.

Naughty: How would they punish their darling?

Isolation, Imprisonment, and Degradation seems up his alley.

Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?

Not many as long as you don't find out about his darker intentions.

Patience: How patient are they with their darling?

Very patient.

Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

Maybe... but you'd plague his mind for a long time. He'd rather not lose you. Ever.

Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?

A little but no. He would convince himself it is "what needed to be done".

Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?

Curiosity. No deep-rooted trauma for the most part... he's just interested.

Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

Concerned but unsure how to help. He may just leave you be for awhile and approach afterwards.

Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

Playing along enough to find somewhere to flee to. But he doesn't plan on letting you go even if you do escape somehow.

Putting this one on anon to avoid the Backlash™ but genuinely thank you for being one of the few profiction people in the Riordanverse fandom who actually makes a point about how oversaturated the solangelo and percabeth is. I love percabeth, don't get me wrong, and some of the solangelo art has some true heart and emotion put into it, but acting like these ships are somehow "pure" and "unproblematic" is ludicrous. Will regularly cotton-wools Nico and underestimates Nico's ability to know his own limits. Annabeth can be downright possessive of Percy to the point it makes her aggressive towards others. Just because a ship doesn't involve *checks notes* a miniscule age gap between *checks further notes* characters, that are still BOTH minors at time of writing, and are *taps sign* capable of having a relationship that's entirely *taps sign louder* platonic and NONSEXUAL, doesn't mean it's absolved of any "problematic" elements. I actually don't think I have a moot like that, well, in terms of shipping. My moots usually have the same ships than I do. Really the things we have different views on would be probably theories and fandoms.

Okay, fact about me! I actually haven't seen all of Naruto. Hell, I'm just finding out about movies I didn't know existed. (I only knew about... two.) But I seen enough of it to see why people ship Sasuke and Naruto. Like... there's just a lot going there with them. I actually don't get people who only view as platonic and label them as siblings. Just stop at "platonic". I have siblings and we do not treat each other the way some ships be treating each other. Some people aren't even friends with their siblings and have close bonds with them.

I feel like some people who throw the "sibling" label on ships just do it to dig at shippers like "You're the gross one" but... if you're the one who sees them as siblings despite all that subtext then wouldn't that make you the gross one?

Like, you don't have to ship it! But damn, not every ship you see you have to go "Oh my gosh, they're like siblings"!

Moving onto JJK!

When I watch a series, I don't watch it for ships unless it's a romance, but other than that I needs my plot. I'll have my ships along the way, but I'm here for the story and its characters.

It's the case for JJK. When I watched the first season and got into reading the manga, I did get my ships. Gojo and Geto? Yeah, that's a ship that even if you don't ship it, you have to admit that there's definitely something going on there.

This is also Utahime and Shoko for me. I couldn't resist shipping them when finding out they hang out a lot. And I'm going to be honest... and this is going to sound wild... but I don't need more in canon for them, I don't. It seems when you're not shown in canon a lot, you're safe and I need those two safe.

Okay, about Yuji and Nobara. Hm... I can see why your friend ships them because they do have their moments in the story that is cute and all. I'm a ItaFushi shipper, but I will acknowledge that Nobara and Yuji do have a bond, too and people will ship them because of that. But do I ship them? I don't, not really. They're more like chaotic besties for me. Their vibes are different from the vibes I get with Nobara and Maki.

Those two? Had me like this 👀 during that one scene after the confrontation with Mai. Maki came to save Nobara like her knight and Nobara did not waste time calling Maki pretty.

Overall, I don't fault either of you for having the ships you have. Both of you just have different tastes, is all. And I know with Shonen, "chemistry" tends to be more between characters of the same gender, especially with M/M pairings and there's little to M/F ones and if there is, sometimes it just feels "forced", I guess. But I don't blame M/F shippers for seeing something in their ships. It's just what any shippers do.

Hell, I like rarepairs sometimes even when the characters never had an onscreen interaction.

For me, what makes me like a ship is the characters and their interactions. And depending on the vibes I feel, I either ship it or I'm more indifferent to it.

My grievances when it comes to any ship, no matter the genders, be the shippers themselves. Sometimes, folks can be too much and jerks for no reason. I separate ships from the shippers because sometimes, what if said ship is something I do enjoy or come around to? I don't want to muddle my view on a ship because of the people who aren't even responsible for the characters and the ship itself isn't bad. And not every shipper of that ship is a terrible human being.

Even if me and another person have the same taste in ships, I will block them if their behavior rubs me the wrong way.

So, I’m dumb and didn’t realize this was going to be book one in a series. And I didn’t realize that the target audience were teenagers, but I pushed on and I’m happy I did.

Despite the lack of smut, this book was a wild adventure. The secrets and drama, and possible love triangle kept me flipping page after page. And don’t even get me started on that ending.

The heartbreak. Oh, the heartbreak!

* I’m so confused. This is why starting a new fantasy book sucks. Trying to figure out who is who and what’s what takes some time lol.
