🌑 ― a fading memory.
For Darius...
Fingers carded gently through his hair, occasionally braiding in feathers or silver rings as he thought fit. Darius had been attempting to work diligently at finalizing the details and plans for their next heists, but his fiance was making it increasingly difficult.
"How do you feel about gardenias for the wedding?" Victor's voice had his attention immediately, and Darius tilted his head slightly in thought.
"Those would look well with the venue we've picked out- and it's nice to have something other than the traditional roses." He smiled, leaning his head back to look up at his betrothed.
Victor pressed a kiss to his forehead, fingers lingering on a cluster of feathers and humming in agreement.
"I love you, you know that?"
Darius felt a smile pull at his lips. "And I love you too."
For Chell...
"Did you even think before you ran in there? Or are you that hellbent on getting yourself killed?" Luca's voice wasn't quite at a yell- but with how aggressive Isabelle was stitching up her shoulder currently, he didn't need to be.
"They wouldn't have stopped if I hadn'tve done anything. I refuse to let anyone be taken again. I refuse to let us go back to being under feat." Chells voice was cold in response, but it was a feeling that was felt through the room.
Isabelles hands slowed, and Luca paused for a moment before walking over and sitting beside his sibling."There is the fear of losing you, though. And I rather us get stronger together than have one go off alone and die." He wasn't looking at he as he spoke, but Chell knew. She always knew.
Luca leaned over and gently headbutted Chell, sighing. "Don't do anything too crazy without me, alright?"
Isabelle immediately hissed and swatted at Luca "you're not helping with the concussion! Go find a goat to pick a fight with not your sibling!"
He immediately laughed it off and jumped out of reach, shaking his head. "Ugh, FINE then. Chell, see me once you're rested then. We have a lot of work to do."

don’t steal adrien’s phone - a fanfiction by miraculous_carnation
hi yall! this amazing piece of art isnt unfortunately done by me- it’s by the ultra charming miraculous_carnation on ao3, so be sure to check her out! i’ve gotten her permission to post this here, so dont worry! enjoy the show!
Lila Rossi posed for the camera, putting on a flirty face, Adrien sitting next to her. They were at the Palace of Versailles, the place for their photoshoot. Lila hugged Adrien in a way that made him uncomfortable, running her hands across his back. The photographer, noticing Adrien’s discomfort, asked them to take a 5 minutes break.
Lila walked to where Adrien was sitting. “So, Adrien! The photos are going to look awesome, right? I mean, we look so in love!”
Adrien’s eyes opened wide when he heard her voice. “Um, Lila? I know I’ve said this a lot, but can you please stop touching me? It makes me uncomfortable, and I already have a girlfriend,” Adrien tried to explain.
Lila narrowed her eyes at his last statement. Ugh, that Maritrash. What did Adrien see in her?
“Oh of course, Adrien! I’d never want to do something that would make you feel uncomfortable,” she whispered, leaning towards his mouth. Adrien grew stiff. Luckily, the photographer called for them just in time. Lila rolled her eyes, but then put on a fake smile.
“Oh well, anyways, we better go back, Adrien! We have to finish the shoot!”
Adrien hated photoshoots with Lila. They were the worst. Luckily, it was only for another 30 minutes, because after that, he had an interview with Nadja Chamack on Face to Face.
Lila hid behind a bush, watching Adrien get up and head toward the photoshoot. Perfect. She ran over to the table and picked up his phone.
“Well, Adrien, let’s see who you really love,” she smirked.
“Welcome back to, Face to Face! This is your host, Nadja Chamack, live in Paris!” Nadja Chamack enthusiastically said while the audience clapped. “Today, we have a very important guest. He’s a model, born here in Paris, ladies and gentlemen, give it up for the son of world famous designer Gabriel Agreste, Adrien Agreste!”
2 seconds later, Adrien walked onto the stage, wearing a suit, created specially by his father, strutting in the way his father taught him when he was little. ‘Flash a flirty smile to the audience, then greet Nadja Chamack professionally’, his father’s words repeated in his mind. His father cared about his appearance and reputation, after all…
“Hello there, Nadja! How are you doing today?” Adrien politely asked. He wished he could be somewhere else, particularly running around as CHat Noir, maybe playing a game of tag with Ladybug…
“Oh, well I’m doing wonderful!” Nadja responded, snapping Adrien out of his daze. “Anyways, I’ve got a bunch of questions for you! First one, are you dating Lila Rossi, a fellow model from your father’s company? Are the rumors true?”
Adrien sighed. There were so many rumors about that going around, many of them created by Lila. She already convinced the class that they were dating, when he actually was dating Marinette.
“Sorry, Nadja, but that is incorrect. I am not dating Lila Rossi, but I am dating Marinette Dupain-Cheng, of who you may know.”
Nadja smiled at the name of her friend’s daughter. “Yes, I know Marinette, I commissioned her to create a dress for Manon for my sister’s wedding, and it came out beautiful! Everyone in the audience, go check out Marinette’s website!”
Lila Rossi was watching the Face to Face interview, fuming. She didn’t know he had an interview! How dare Adrien say that! She’d ruin his relationship with Marinette! She tapped into his phone, already knowing his password, courtesy of his father. Gabriel Agreste gave her access to all of his son’s social media accounts for safety reasons. She logged onto his Instagram account and made a new post, adding the photo of Lila kissing him on the cheek.
“So grateful for my girlfriend @lilarossi! Love you!”
She smirked. No way he was getting out of this one.
Nadja Chamack was confused. Apparently, a new post from Adrien on Instagram was posted just now, but how was it possible? Adrien was talking to her the whole time!
She coughed. “Adrien, it seems that there has been a new post on your Instagram,” Adrien looked shocked, “can we have the post on the screen?”
Adrien’s eyes grew wide as he saw the post. “Nadja, I didn’t post that! I couldn’t-”
“I know you didn’t, Adrien. You’ve been talking to me the whole time right now!”, Adrien let out a sigh of relief, “Is it possible your social media team did it?”
Adrien shook his head. “No, they don’t put out posts like that. They only put out posts that promote the brand!”
“So if it wasn’t your social media team, who was it?” Nadja said in confusion. There were several murmurs in the audience as well.
Adrien narrowed his eyes. “Well, I have a hunch. What is the post about?”
Nadja caught on with his thinking. “Oh, so you believe Lila Rossi posted this? How would she have gotten your phone?”
Adrien thought about what happened before the interview. “Well, you see, before coming here, I had a photoshoot with Lila. She probably took my phone then.”
Gabriel Agreste was watching from the safety of his home. Lila Rossi had not thought about this beforehand! She was going to ruin his plan and his brand! How dare she!
Nathalie walked in. “Sir, would you like me to delete the post and disable Adrien’s social media accounts?”
“Yes, Nathalie. Have Adrien’s social media team clean up the mess.” Gabriel sighed. The only good thing that came out of this was that he figured out his son was dating Marinette Dupain-Cheng. It was a good choice, as Marinette was exceptional.
Lila’s eyes grew wide at the revelation. She posted about herself on Adrien’s account when he was in an interview! It made her the prime suspect! Hopefully Mr. Agreste’s social media team could take the blame.
She dialed Mr. Agreste’s number. “Hello, is Mr. Agreste there?”
She was greeted with the monotone voice of Nathalie. “Excuse me, Miss Rossi, but Mr. Agreste has decided to terminate your contract on behalf of Gabriel. You will never model in his brand again. Goodbye.”
Lila gasped. How dare that dumb assistant! She was Lila Rossi! How dare Gabriel Agreste do that to her! She would ruin him!
“On top of recent events, Lila Rossi has lied about many things. She even got Marinette expelled once!” Adrien explained to Nadja, excited that he found a way to expose Lila.
Marinette was watching all of this from the comfort from her room, her mouth wide open. Well, she wasn’t super surprised, Lila would do something like this, but Adrien called her his girlfriend! Sure, they were dating, but she didn’t think he would announce it publicly!
Girl, are you watching Face to Face? Can you believe Lila lied?
Hold up, you’re dating Adrien? Why didn’t you tell me?
Girl, I can’t believe you didn’t tell me. I thought we were BFFs!
Marinette snorted at the latter. BFFs? Yeah, right. Alya literally announced to the class two weeks ago that their friendship was over and that her new best friend would be Lila. Go figure!
“Wow. As you can see, ladies and gentlemen, startling revelations about the newest Gabriel model has come through! Hold on, we have a new post from the official Gabriel Twitter account! Can we please have this on the screen?” Nadja exclaimed.
Adrien read the post, not surprised. Of course his father would try to save face. It wasn’t new. He was just happy he wouldn’t have to model with Lila anymore.
The audience and Nadja gasped when they read the post. “Wow! It looks like the Gabriel brand has officially terminated Lila Rossi’s contract!” Nadja had to act surprised because this was predictable from the fashion designer. Typical Gabriel.
“Well, folks! There was a lot of drama today, but that concludes today’s interview! I hope you come again for another episode of, Face to Face!” Nadja concluded.
Bonus Scene:
“Well, Adrien, you made a good choice with Marinette. She could take over the designing area of the company while you take over the business side. When will you marry her?”
“FATHER!”
“Well, kid, he’s not wrong. Pigtails makes pretty good bread. And oh how good it tastes with camembert! Oh my sweet gooiness!”
“Shut up, Plagg.”

Empire Line (Part 2/3) Newt Scamander x Reader
Warnings: angst. Yeah loooooook I’m sorry…it’s been a rough year
Summary: Newt has been in love with you since your second year at Hogwarts. You have been in love with Newt for nearly as long. You’re both ridiculously oblivious and you think he has feelings for Tina. Will Newt set the record straight before he loses you for good? (Newt for present day Newt and other Newt in italics for future Newt)
Pairings: Newt Scamander x Reader, Reader x OC (super brief) A/N: This is part 2- and actually the first part I ever wrote of this story when I was feeling particularly angsty. Sorry Newt ☹
Title: Empire Line by The National – this band has saved my life honestly . Love u 5 sad dads
Taglist (I LOVE YALL): @auror-lovie @moonkissk7 @sagittarius-flowerchild @fishdonttouch @cal-ifornication @haileygarciasunshine @cherryobx @swiftspaperings @tillyreads
“Alistair’s moving to South America to research the flora and fauna over there.”
Newt only blinked back at you dumbly, so you spoke up again.
“I said I’d go with him.”
“Newt?” You called his name when he just stood there staring at you wordlessly.
He blinked a few times slowly and his eyes focused back on you, though he was still dazed “sorry what?”
“I said, I’m moving to South America. Alistair asked me to go with him. We leave in a month” You repeated yourself slowly, looking at Newt in concern when he still didn’t respond.
There was a ringing in Newt’s ears as he stood in front of you, gaping at you like a fish out of water. A month. You were leaving in a month.
“Newt,” you reached out towards him and Newt suddenly jumped into action, dodging your touch.
“Oh wow!...that’s great Y/N, I’m really happy for you.” He managed to muster up a fake bright smile and a believable tone despite the way his heart was threatening to shatter in his chest.
You raised your eyebrows in surprise at his enthusiastic response and you couldn’t help but feel a little put out that he was seemingly so excited for you to leave.“Thanks.” You paused “so what did you have to tell me?”
Newt managed to keep the smile plastered onto his face as he looked back at you “oh, just that the baby occamies finally hatched,” he said without missing a beat.
It wasn’t a complete lie because it was true- the occamies had hatched. It just wasn’t what he’d been meaning to tell you, but he knew now he’d lost his chance and he needed to remove himself before he completely crumbled in front of you.
So, he clapped his hands, causing you to startle slightly “right! I should get to bed now. I just wanted to tell you about the occamies. I’ll see you in the morning.” He spoke rapidly, not looking at you once before he was practically sprinting to his room and slamming the door behind him just as the first tear fell from his eyes.

Several weeks had passed now and everything had continued on as usual between you and Newt.
It had been a little tense and awkward the day after you’d broken the news to Newt but when you’d wrapped him up in a tight hug the following night he couldn’t help but melt and realise he didn’t want to spend your last few weeks together moping around and avoiding you.
So he continued on treating you like he usually would, blissfully denying all knowledge of you leaving him at the end of the month.
You were due to leave in exactly one week now and Newt was in the kitchen fixing himself a cup of tea after breakfast. He felt his stomach drop when he noticed the empty spot on the window sill where you usually kept some of your framed photos on display. You had already started packing your possessions away slowly but surely.
He sighed sadly to himself as he stared at the window ledge, looking up when you appeared beside him, grasping his arm.
“Hey, I was thinking we could go for a picnic by the lake today? For old times sake.” You suggested with a soft smile.
Newt turned to face you, shaking his head with an apologetic smile “I’d love to but I’m meeting with the owner of Flourish and Blotts today about stocking my book.”
“Oh! No Newt that’s wonderful!” You gushed, smiling brightly at him and he only felt more miserable realising he only had a week left of seeing that smile.
“Oh, don’t look so down, we can just go tomorrow. Go and sell your book!” You grasped his shoulders, bouncing on your heels excitedly “you can tell me all about it when you get back.”
The pure excitement on your face managed to pull him from his sour mood and he soon found himself smiling back at you. “Okay picnic tomorrow,” he nodded, laying his hands over your arms as you were still gripping his shoulders.
The both of you stood there for a few moments in each other's arms, gazing back at one another. Newt was the first to look away, clearing his throat as he glanced down at his watch “I better go. I’ll be back before dinner.”

Not much later he found himself wandering down Diagon Alley with his case in hand. He’d made good time, so he decided to stop in at some of the other shops in search of a farewell gift for you.
A set of earrings caught his eye and he was busy trying to see the price of them as his case began to rattle in his hand. He looked down just in time to see the unmistakable flurry of dark fur that was his Niffler, bolting across the street.
“Get back here!” Newt groaned, fixing the loose clasp on his case before he dashed after the creature, wondering what on earth had caught his attention over the jewellery store he’d just left behind.
He groaned again when he saw the Niffler scurrying into what appeared to be a tiny shop selling nothing but mirrors and he quickly followed after the creature.
“Merlin,” Newt breathed out when he was in the shop, feeling disoriented when he was standing in the middle of a room that held what must have been hundreds of mirrors in all different shapes and sizes along the walls.
He saw absolutely no sign of the Niffler, in fact there was absolutely no movement in the shop save for himself and the faint trail of what he assumed was incense swirling above his head.
“Ah you must be the Magizoologist, I‘ve been expecting you. A couple months late but nevertheless, welcome my boy.”
Newt spun around when he heard a rugged voice, tipping his head aside with furrowed brows when he saw a complete stranger standing before him. It was tall and slim elderly man with long, scraggly white hair and disarmingly blue eyes.
“I’m sorry?” Newt frowned as the man walked towards him. “I don’t believe we’ve met…” He trailed off and his eyes widened as the strange man grasped his face in his palms, inspecting him closely.
“...yet you seem to know me…”, Newt squeaked, standing stock still as the man continued to look him over. He knew he probably should have been running from the strange man, or at the very least should have felt some shred of concern or discomfort but the man had a strangely welcoming aura about him.
“Yes. Newton Artemis Fido Scamander!” The man suddenly burst out, causing Newt to flinch slightly “You may call me Janus, if you so wish. I will also respond to Mr.Galloglass, sometimes even Mr.G but let’s not get ahead of ourselves shall we?”, Mr. Galloglass said, patting Newt a few times on the cheek with a wry smile before he finally released him from his hold.
Mr. Galloglass swiftly turned away from Newt, his long tweed coat swishing behind him as he began inspecting a particular row of mirrors “I believe you’ve lost something yes? Your little echidna looking thing. Such cheeky little creatures those ones are. I suppose he’s not the reason you’re late to see me though,” the old man rambled on as he continued to inspect the mirrors.
Newt was still stood frozen on the spot as he stared at the eccentric old man, wondering what on earth he was rambling on about and how he knew who he was. He was about to ask him exactly that when Mr.Galloglass suddenly rushed over to him again.
He yanked Newt’s left hand into his own causing Newt to grunt in surprise. Galloglass lifted it close to his face and began inspecting his palm with wide eyes. “What on ear-“
“Ah! You’re at an Empire Line young man”, he exclaimed, looking up at Newt and then back down at his palm, raising his eyebrows “no correction! You’re on an Empire Line that is juuuuust about to split.”
Newt felt his frustration bubbling to the surface when Mr. Galloglass only made less and less sense but then something behind the man caught his eye. He let out a breath of realisation when he spotted the crystal ball that was sat atop the small table in the adjoining room.
“You’re a seer?” Newt cut in, looking back at the man quizzically.
“Like my father and grandfather before me,” Mr. Galloglass confirmed, thrusting Newt into the adjoining room without any warning until he stood in front of the biggest mirror in the entire shop. It was about a foot taller than Newt and it had a dark ornate frame.
“In you go!”, Mr. Oldridge pushed Newt towards the mirror but Newt resisted, looking back at the man in the murky reflection in utter confusion and mild alarm “what?!”
“You want to know what an Empire Line is and besides, that’s where your Niffler ran off to. You know what they say- there’s no time like the present!”
He cackled at his own joke and pushed Newt forward again with much more force this time and Newt staggered forward, trying to catch himself on the mirror instinctively and yelping when he only fell through the surface.
And as he fell through it the mirror he suddenly recalled the words of his brother.
“...You need to tell her before you have to watch her move on with someone who can never love her like you do...”
Newt gasped when he stumbled to his feet and he was miraculously standing by the doorway inside of a huge cathedral.
The first thing he noticed was the rows and rows of people packed into the stalls, his eyes then taking in the floral arrangements that sat on the end of each row.
It must be a wedding.
It was incredibly loud, he realised because the organ was blaring what must have been the processional. He fidgeted anxiously as he took in his surroundings and he only grew more confused when he spotted a rather grim looking Theseus standing in the front row of stalls by the altar of the church.
His brother's gaze seemed to be transfixed on the front of the church and Newt followed his line of sight, his eyes widening and jaw dropping when he saw HIMSELF standing at the front of the church dressed in a fancy suit.
What on earth was happening?
What did Galloglass mean by an Empire Line?
Was he seeing his future?
His eyes quickly scanned the line of people this other version of himself was standing beside, realising he didn’t recognise a single one of the groomsmen.
There was a complete stranger standing where the Groom would traditionally stand and Newt furrowed his brows. What was he doing at a strangers wedding?...he realised though that he did recognise a fair few of the guests sat on the same side as Theseus.
He spun around when the bridal party began to enter the cathedral and his eyes widened when he caught sight of Tina and Queenie all dressed up and walking gracefully down the carpeted aisle.
“Tina...Queenie!” he waved at the sisters, trying desperately to catch their attention and frowning when they didn’t notice him at all.
He recognised the next woman in the processional as Mona, your childhood friend followed by your sister and Newt began to notice the dread settling in his stomach.
He had a niggling feeling that no one could see or hear him in this strange reality he’d been tossed into and his suspicions were proven correct just a minute later.
Everything seemed to happen in slow motion as the guests all turned to face the entrance of the cathedral in anticipation.
He turned to face the doorway too, his ears ringing and his heart pounding when he saw you enter the church in a huge white gown. The veil you wore was completely obscuring your face but he knew it was you.
“Y/N”, he called out, reaching for you instinctively and only growing more distressed when his hand passed through your arm. You clearly couldn’t see him. No one could see or hear him and he felt tears well in his eyes as he watched you make your way down the aisle towards the unknown man.
The other Newt had a small smile plastered on his face but it didn’t meet his eyes as he watched you stop in front of the groom, letting the other man take your hands. It was clear to see that he was dying inside.
It was like his own personal hell. Everything was wrong.
Firstly, why were you getting married in a church? You weren’t religious and you’d always told him how you wanted to be married outdoors in a small garden ceremony.
Why were there white roses everywhere? You loved vibrant colours and despised roses.
The floral arrangements weren’t anything like you would usually choose and that dress was nothing like any dress you’d ever worn before.
You looked...out of place and he was certain it wasn’t just because it should have been him stood where the groom was. He had admittedly fantasised about what it might be like to marry you one day and this ceremony was clearly the polar opposite in every single respect.
Nothing made sense. You weren’t visibly brimming with joy like you would normally be when you were excited. Usually your excitement was infectious but here you looked like a robot. Even Tina and Queenie looked concerned standing beside you.
And the groom. Newt swallowed thickly as he took him in properly, his stomach churning at the smarmy and almost smug smile the man wore.
The ceremony carried on for what felt like hours and Newt resigned himself realising there was nothing he could do to stop it. Here he was just a fly on the wall. He had to look away when the groom tipped you back, planting a firm kiss on your lips and clutching you against himself as the guests applauded and the other groomsmen cheered.
The last thing he noticed was the look of utter defeat on the other Newt’s face before his surroundings rapidly changed.
He gasped when the room suddenly morphed around him and he was now standing inside a hospital room, seeing you looking tired and worn out in a hospital bed. You were clutching a tiny baby in your arms with the other Newt by your side, watching you in concern.
He watched as you looked up at the other Newt, taking his hand tiredly “thank you for being here...I don’t think I could have done this on my own”, you murmured. He watched this slightly older version of himself squeeze your hand and bend down to drop a kiss to the top of your head “I will always be here when you need me...but he really should have been here, Y/N.”
“Oh Newt, you know he’s on a business trip. It’s fine.” you said quietly, looking down at the baby in your arms as he watched the other Newt clench his jaw in response. He found himself mirroring the action.
Your husband wasn’t here with you for the birth of your baby?
What kind of man had you gone and married?
You looked so tired and sad and not at all like the Y/N, he knew and loved.
Newt was broken from his musings when a nurse entered the room and he took one last look at the look of sad resignation on your face before the room suddenly shifted around him again.
This time he was thrown into a chair at a large dining table and he blinked a few times, gripping the table to steady himself. Now he was sitting across from you and the other Newt watching as you poured him a cup of tea, a young toddler hugged to your side.
Some time had clearly passed because you were both a little older and he assumed the child in your arms was the same baby from just before. You were still breathtakingly beautiful but now you looked frail, the smile never quite reaching your eyes as you spoke with your friend over tea.
And he could tell from the way the other Newt was staring at you, hanging off your every word that he was still just as in love with you even though you’d married and started a family with someone else.
“Y/N, where is he? From your letters...it sounds like he’s always alway.”
You laughed bitterly and looked away from the other Newt, turning the wedding band on your finger shakily “He’s probably off screwing his assistant.”
Newt felt his blood run cold and he opened his mouth to talk before he realised that you couldn’t see him and the other Newt looked completely affronted as he set his tea cup down with too much force, shattering the saucer on the table.
“He’s cheating on you!?”, he asked, his voice high and strained as he quickly cleared up the mess he’d made, shooing you away when you tried to help. The last thing you needed was to cut your hand open trying to help him.
You watched him fumble around for a few moments before you quickly cast a mending charm on the broken porcelain, sitting back in your chair and shrugging. “Has been for years. Dozens of different women and he thinks I’m too stupid to know. I’ll never be enough for him.” you murmured, blinking back the tears in your eyes as you pressed a kiss to the top of your daughters head.
The other Newt took your hands in his own, looking at you in concern “Y/N you are more than enough. You deserve the world. You deserve someone loyal who will care for you and be there to support you no matter what”, he said passionately, pausing a moment before he murmured.
“Why do you stay with him?”
“Because I want what’s best for her,” you said without hesitation, nodding down at your daughter in your arms as you sniffled slightly “and I’m not getting any younger, Newt. At least he wants me.”
He watched as the other Newt opened his mouth to speak again but you continued talking and what you said next sent both Newt’s into shocked silence.
“You know I was in love with you for the longest time?”, you laughed self deprecatingly as you pulled your hands out of his “I dreamt about being Mrs. Scamander. I always thought you would make the most incredible husband and father.”
“Y/N”, the other Newt breathed, his eyes big and his lips parted but you shook your head before he could say anything more.
“Oh, how things change,” you murmured, wiping your eyes while you held your daughter tight against you in your other arm.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The ringing returned in Newt’s ears as he was abruptly thrust out of the mirror and left sitting on the floor of the shop again. He stared down at his knees in shock as he felt Mr.Galloglass’ hands gripping his shoulders.
“You alright there, son?”, the man asked gruffly as he shook him slightly by the shoulders and Newt jumped to his feet quickly facing the man “I-yes I have to go! I must find the Niffler and leave immediately”, he said, searching around frantically.
He had to go to you.
But Mr. Galloglass grabbed his arm firmly, gesturing back at the mirror that was starting to ripple again “your creature is still in there. I sense the mirror’s not done with you yet my boy.” He murmured, his eyes glazing over with that faraway look again.
“You have more to see before you leave this place.”
The older man pushed Newt firmly towards the mirror again and Newt sucked in a deep breath, closing his eyes tightly as he stepped back through the mirror frame, praying he wasn’t faced with something as horrible again.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This time as he stepped through the frame Tina’s words popped into his mind.
“You should make the most of all the precious time you have together. Our time is never promised.”
The words seemed rather ominous considering what he’d just seen in his previous venture but as his surroundings became clear he felt a false sense of relief just from the familiarity of it.
This time he found himself standing in his flat in London, facing another Newt again who was sitting at the small dining room table, talking with Pickett.
He seemed to be the same age here but the first thing Newt noticed about the apartment was that all of your belongings were gone. Every single one of your plants that were usually adorning every surface of the flat were gone and it made his chest hurt to think about it.
Did you end up going to South America? Was this his closest reality then?
He watched this other version of himself curiously, noticing how happy he looked as he leant on the table talking to the Bowtruckle who seemed to be just as excited “yes Pickett, she’ll be here tomorrow and we’ll go and meet her at the docks and...and bring her home,” the other Newt murmured, smiling back at Pickett who danced around excitedly.
“Maybe it’s about time I ask her to stay,” he whispered, resting his chin in his palm with a small smile.
Newt looked up from the pair when he heard knocking at the front door, moving towards it on instinct and pausing when he remembered that he was just an onlooker here.
The other Newt got to his feet slowly, his eyebrows drawn together, shaking his head in response to Pickett’s chirping “no she’s not supposed to be here yet...but yes I suppose she could surprise us”.
The idea of you surprising him with an early arrival had him quickly walking to the door with a bright smile. He yanked the door open half expecting it to be you.
“Theseus?”, he frowned, the smile dropping from his face completely when he saw the tears shining in his brother’s eyes and he stepped back when Theseus pushed him into the apartment.
Newt watched the scene before him, the sense of dread settling in his stomach once again. He’d never seen his brother cry before.
“T-Theseus what’s wrong?”, the other Newt stuttered, moving to the kitchen to fetch him a cup of tea and freezing when Theseus grabbed his wrist, shaking his head “Newt, sit down.”
“No tell me what’s wrong”, he said, gripping Theseus by the shoulders, watching as his brother blinked hard a few times, furiously rubbing at his eyes a moment later.
“Theseus talk to me.”
Silence.
And then.
“The ship Y/N was on went down last night. Rogue wave.”
Theseus was gutted himself because he loved you like a little sister after the years you’d spent gradually slotting yourself into the Scamander’s lives. But he was truly hurting for his little brother, knowing how this news would break him.
Newt slapped his hand to his mouth, shaking his head furiously as he paced around the apartment trying to see the portal out of this reality and back through the mirror as the other Newt gaped at his older brother, his face gone pale.
“No no no she...she had her wand. She would have found a way out!”
“Newt I’m sorry she didn’t m-‘
“No! She can swim and she’s smart- s—s-she can swim better than me” the other Newt stuttered, his voice cracking as he gripped the back of the chair for support, feeling his legs would give out any moment.
“She didn’t make it, Newt.” Theseus said firmly, wrapping his arms around his younger brother tightly and gripping the back of his head as the first sobs broke through the apartment.
Newt was starting to cry himself, finding it harder and harder to breathe as he listened to the guttural sobs coming from his other self. It felt like the room was closing in on him and his chest was starting to physically ache. He covered his ears and chanted.
“It’s not real. It’s not real. It’s not real,” he kept chanting like a mantra, reminding himself over and over that this was just another reality and that his Y/N was safe and sound at home. In your shared apartment.
He barely noticed the room had morphed around him again until it was quiet and he was standing in his now dark apartment, facing a very disheveled and clearly drunk Newt. There was rubbish littered everywhere and Newt noticed the discarded newspaper with a photo of you and himself on the front page. He skimmed the article, wiping his tears away.
MAGIZOOLOGIST SCAMANDER’s ASSISTANT TRAGICALLY DROWNS IN SHIPWRECK
So, you’d drowned after you’d dropped your wand trying to help a young muggle child onto a life raft. Newt felt his stomach twist at that because it was something you would do.
Why didn’t anyone save you?
He sat down at the table across from the other Newt, burying his face in his hands as he pleaded for the mirror to let him out of this hell scape.
He jumped a bit when Tina and Queenie suddenly appeared in front of him, both of them looking somber as they moved towards the other Newt.
Queenie gripped him by the shoulders gently while Tina pried the bottle of fire-whiskey from his hands
“Newt, honey you’ve got to stop this.”
Queenie practically pleaded, stroking his hair back. She had her own tears threatening to spill because she could hear all the pain and guilt he was feeling.
“It wasn’t your fault. You couldn’t have stopped it”, she whispered, jumping a bit when he slammed his hand down on the table in response.
“I COULD HAVE STOPPED IT!”, he shouted, his voice hoarse while Newt continued to sit there with his head pressed in his hands, vowing to never let you set foot on a ship without him.
“Newt, nothing can change it now! You need to accept it and move on”, Tina said firmly, pushing her sister aside as she stood in front of him, pulling him to his feet.
“Y/N is gone and she’s never coming back. You need to pull yourself together because you still have a whole case of creatures to care for. Theseus can’t keep taking care of them for you. That man is at his wits end. And Y/N wouldn’t want you moping around like this!”
Newt only looked up when Tina’s ranting finally stopped and he was met with silence. He was now completely alone sitting in front of your tombstone.
It was as if something inside him broke then and he found himself scrambling to his feet and shaking his head frantically when he noticed a bunch of your favourite flowers propped against the stone.
“No no no no no let me out I’ve had enough! Niffler!” He shouted, desperately looking for any way out of the mirror as he grew more and more hysterical.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
He let out a gasp, hunched over and gripping his knees when he was thrust back into the shop. “You!” He shouted, grabbing Mr. Galloglass by his collar.
“Why did you keep me in there so long?!” he practically growled, tears still flowing from his eyes. He felt completely wrecked as he held the man's collar tightly in his grip, trying to get a grasp on his true reality as he stared at the man “tell me where my Niffler is!” he demanded, his eyes wild.
Mr. Galloglass sighed and pulled Newt’s hands away from his collar, smiling apologetically at the young man.
“I don’t have any say in this. Only the mirror can decide what you see and when it’s finished. You obviously have more to learn.”
“NO I do NOT have more to learn!”, Newt snapped, grabbing his case “I’ve seen plenty and I need to go home right now!”
He spotted a familiar flurry of dark fur scurrying by and he set his case down, reaching towards the creature.
“No YOU get back here!” he said , lunging forward when he saw the Niffler, chasing after him once again through the mirror before he could stop himself.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This time there were no words or phrases echoing in his mind. He was greeted with only silence as he fell on his ass once again into his apartment and he saw you in the kitchen.
You were clearly pregnant and he shook his head as he stood up quickly. He felt the bile rise in his throat as he faced the wall that he had just come through.
“NO LET ME OUT! I am DONE I have seen enough! I have learnt my lesson just let me out!” He shouted, pounding his fists against the wall and letting out a cry of frustration when nothing happened. He begrudgingly turned to face you when you called his name.
This time you looked happy and healthy and Newt wondered if you’d married the same scumbag from the earlier reality. But his heart stopped in his chest when he saw yet another version of himself take you into his arms and press a loving kiss to your lips.
He watched on in utter shock as you kissed this other Newt back with the brightest smile on your lips as you wrapped your arms around him.
And Newt wondered if it was possible to be jealous of himself?
He stared at you completely astounded, feeling a warmth blossoming in his chest at the way you were gazing at the other Newt. And the way you had wrapped your body around his, clinging to him like he was your very own life raft.
The room morphed around him much faster than he had hoped and he found himself standing behind the two of you in a baby’s nursery. He watched the two of you kiss the baby in your arms before you set him down in his crib, still holding each other close.
Newt blinked when the room shifted suddenly again and this time he was standing on platform 9 3/4 staring at you standing tucked into the other Newt’s side as you waved your two children off onto the Hogwarts Express.
Newt only felt his chest swell more as he watched the other Newt press a kiss to your temple, his hand coming to rest on your stomach that was round with another baby on the way.
He huffed and closed his eyes when the room started to morph again, this time at super speed showing him flashes of this alternate reality. He couldn’t breathe again but it was for all the right reasons as he watched literally all of his dreams and more unfold before him.
He felt a few tears slip from his eyes when he was left standing still once more.
This time you had both grown old and you were sitting together hand in hand in Newt’s case, watching small children which he assumed to be your grandchildren, running around.
He watched as you tipped your face upwards to press a kiss to the other Newt’s lips and he could just make out you murmuring the words ‘I love you’ before his attention was taken by the Niffler that was bolting towards him.
He quickly crouched down and held his hands out for the creature “come here you!”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Newt let out a sigh when he was back in the mirror shop, facing Mr. Galloglass once again with the Niffler clutched in his hands. He made quick work of setting the creature back into his case and making sure it was latched properly this time before he turned back to face the mirror. He lay his hand against the cool glass as he took in everything he’d just seen.
He couldn’t even begin to decipher what he was feeling right now because he was simultaneously traumatised by the reality in which you drowned and elated by the prospect of calling you his wife and spending his life with you.
Then he rubbed a hand down his face when he remembered Mr. Galloglass and turned to face the man, hoping to apologise to him for shouting at him but the man just waved his hand dismissively before Newt could talk.
“Don’t worry about it, son. You just go and do what you need to do,” the old man murmured, clapping him on the shoulder firmly before guiding him back out of the shop and Newt turned around to nod at him one last time before he took off down the street with his case in hand.
Finally, all of his fears and all of the worst-case scenarios he’d conjured up in his mind faded into white noise and all that mattered now was telling you of his devotion.
It was settled. He was going to tell you the truth once and for all and nothing was going to stop him. He never even found out what Mr.Galloglass meant by Empire Line.

word count: ~4000
You furrowed your brows as you looked over the field of workers, tilling the dark earth beneath the hot summer sun. The living room radio was cranked up loud enough that the lulling tones of the singer could be heard from your front porch, mixing in with the calming noise of the wind-chime and cicadas in the trees. The scent of summer wafted through your hair with the same wind swirling through the chime, playing it as if it were a musician. The warmth of the sun settled against your exposed skin as you marched out to the field, throwing your hat over your wild hair. The cooler you were lugging behind you was nearly reminiscent of when your mother forced you to apologize to the men for your manners when now, it seemed that you could be wearing a winter coat and she’d nearly faint in embarrassment. Still, you were greeted with bright smiles and the welcoming of the refreshments.
You tucked your hands into your back pockets, searching the small crowd of college boys almost too dirty to be recognized. The offset chorus of sentiments and thankfulness blended into the wind in your ears. “He’s not here today,” one of the boys you knew from high school piped up beside you, leaning against his trow and following your eyes towards the horizon over the field. You moved your head to look in his direction, perking an eyebrow as you did so. He ran one of his grimy hands through his sandy hair, taking a deep breath of the summer air you were also admiring a few minutes prior.
You chuckled lightly. “Well, don’t write a novel, sparky,” you joked, making him snicker, a small gleam in his eyes as he looked at you fully this time.
“Apologies, ma’am. Dean took up another shift at the station. He needs the money before he heads back soon,” he disclosed, his hand moving to rub at the nape of his neck. You felt your heart drop three stories into hell at his words.
You wet your lips, searching his eyes. “Soon?”
He nodded. “Didn’t he tell you? His mom sent him a letter or something.” You shook your head, thanking him for the information and handing him one of the drinks from the cooler, your mind racing at what soon meant. How soon? Next week? In a few days? Tomorrow? What happened to summer? You parted ways with the men, tying your hair back and deciding that waiting for him to get off work would eat you alive before you got the opportunity to figure out what was happening.
It seemed as if your bike wasn’t quick enough to keep up with your legs and pacing heart. The vast cornfields and wildflowers you regularly would have stopped to enjoy, zipped passed your ankles alongside the gravel road into town. Your chest tightened at the thought of him leaving so soon after you had so much planned for these few precious months you had the opportunity to spend with him.
The reality of the situation was that you both were getting older. Soon, at least by your mother’s standards, you’d need to be settled and on the road to having children before your life completely passed by your ears. There were only so many summer vacations you could enjoy before you were tied into a job or a family. It was only a matter of time before you’d be looking back on these summers and wishing you could curl back up beneath the large willow trees, pressed against Dean’s side after a long day. When you were old and harsh like your mother, would you regret it if Dean wasn’t the man you were spending the rest of your life with? Did he even feel the same about you, or were you still a summer fling to him?
Your throat tightened at that thought. Were you becoming too attached when he had his own separate life back home, with no intention of blending you into it? The idea of him with another woman that wasn’t you boiled your blood. Yet, you still skittered on the edge of whether or not your father would even allow the two of you to be together.
Who were you kidding? You were on your mother’s timeline, it didn’t matter if you wanted to marry him tomorrow. Maybe you could convince yourself that there was still time. Your fears seemed to wash away into the cracks of the sidewalk as you pulled up to the gas station, tucking your bike into the rack beside the front door and greeting the few cars of townspeople you recognized. You were now on a mission, your mind almost blank with everything else. The handful of Cadillacs full of couples in swimsuits that you had familiarized yourself with in school attempted light conversation with you as you vaguely surveyed the station before finally spotting Dean. His dark jumpsuit was, of course, already filthy as he wiped his hands on a towel, in mid-conversation with another mechanic. Your heart felt heavy looking at him again, as if you were seeing him for the first time again. His bright eyes turned to you as if he had sensed your presence, his smile brightening at your appearance as he headed for you.
You fought your blush as you excused yourself from the group and walked to meet him half-way. His usual dapper mood was still prevalent as he stood before you, seemingly pleased that you were there to see him. “Hey, I’d kiss you but-” He began but your impatience and slightly distraught expression sent his brows furrowing. He seemed hesitant to ask you what was wrong, like he knew what you’d chased him down for. He pulled his bottom lip between his gleaming teeth, tucking the towel in his back pocket.
“I heard you’re leaving soon,” you mumbled, fidgeting with your fingers. You wanted to reach out and touch him despite his begrimed appearance. It was almost your new normal now: not seeing him covered in dirt or grease was almost foreign to you. You fought against begging him to stay with you rather than go back again, or at least take you with him as his curious eyes blueprinted your appearance into his memory. “What kind of soon are we talking?”
Dean sighed regretfully, looking over his shoulder and gesturing at one of his co-workers before taking one of your hands lightly and stepping into the small station. The one-room business was empty and nearly pristine, evident that only tourists passed in whereas the locals knew not to step foot near it. “I was going to tell you, I just didn’t know how to. This is probably going to be my last summer here.” You inhaled sharply, attempting to keep your noises of upset to yourself as his eyes saddened, the blue hue deepening. Is this how he felt when you left for school? At least there was a promise you’d be back. “My mum’s getting old and I’ll have to take over soon.” Your mind raced at his words. It seemed like he was finally back in your life and now he was leaving. This time for good.
Despite your fast track mind trying to figure out how to sneak into his trunk and force him to take you with him, you couldn’t think of what to say to him. “When?” Was all you could manage.
“Next week.” His words were soft and apologetic. You felt guilty for making him feel like this. You understood; if you were in his shoes you would be doing the same. You looked away from him, blinking towards the ceiling in an attempt to hide your blurring vision, misting by your budding tears. You swallowed harshly, stepping away from him and shaking off your sadness. “Hey,” Dean called for you gently, his hand reaching to touch your wrist to turn you towards him. The way you led into his closeness seemed to make him forget about not wanting to dirty your appearance. He settled his hands alongside your jaw, forcing you to make eye contact with him. You relaxed into his touch almost instantly, your eyes fluttering shut against the stinging tears threatening to fall. His calloused thumb brushed against your cheek. “Just because it’s my last summer doesn’t mean I won’t come back for you if you’ll let me,” his words were like a warm embrace of their own. You sighed and locked eyes with him, hoping to keep the memory of their brightness in the back of your mind. He pulled you closer to him, his lips hovering over yours with a softness like you were a rare flower he was struggling not to crush in his fist. You let your eyes drift shut against the blissful feeling of his breath fanning against your cheek before he pressed his lips against yours, the mix of sadness and worry bleeding away from your mind as the gesture seemed to tell you not to fret over the future anymore.
The bell above the general store rang into the cool air, breaking the silence in the small shop. You untied the scarf around your head as you stepped towards the cashier’s counter, vaguely thinking of back home when you’d usually be greeted by someone you’d grown up with or someone who’d babysat a friend of yours. The man behind the counter stood up straighter, tucking away the magazine he was skimming and attempting to take in your appearance. You felt like a foreigner in the desert as you stood before him. He was rather tall, with clean overalls strapped over his shoulders. “Can I get a fill up?” You asked, gesturing towards your car parked outside. The man raised his eyebrows before nodding and following you outside. “Do you mind if I wait beside you? I’ve been driving all day,” you added as he flipped open your gas lid and began filling your car. You peered around the two of you, taking in the scenery. This part of England wasn’t much different from your hometown, yet it still felt like you had wound up in an alternate reality.
“What are you doing across the pond, miss?” The man asked, his eyes quizzing your every move.
You gave him a small smile, slightly nervous. “I’m visiting my boyfriend actually. He lives down the road, or so I think. I’m kind of lost to be honest...” you mumbled the last part more to yourself as you fished the small scrap of paper out of your pocket with Dean’s address scribbled down. The man gestured slightly, asking if he could take a look and you shrugged, flashing the paper to him. His eyes lit up with recognition and a small chuckle. Before you knew it, the two of you were leaning over the truck of your car with your road map spread out beneath you both, the man explaining the twists and turns on how to get to the house, and you scribbling down a few words to get you out of the woods.
He closed your car door for you after you climbed in. “Remember, left at the fork, two rights, another left-”
“And around the bend,” you finished with a grin to match his. “Thank you for your help.”
“Thank me with an invite to the wedding. They’ve been trying to get that boy married off for years!” He jested before sending you on your way. The run-in with the shopkeeper took your mind off the stroke of nervousness that seemed to rattle around in your chest with each turn in the road. You turned up the radio in hopes that your mind would wander away and stay there until you were in front of the man again. After Dean had left, the distance between the two of you was once again agony in a way you’d never have expected it to be on that first day of summer when you met him. You felt like a crazy person as you slowly checked off your list of directions. What were you doing? What if he didn’t want you here? What if he’s moved on?
You finally made it past the last bend, your hands clammy as your eyes drifted between the road and the scrap of paper once again, looking for the correct numbers. The paper looked about as thin and crumpled as your mental state as you finally spotted a small house surrounded by cherry trees. A school bus sat in front of the driveway and as you grew closer, there he was. Dean stood in front of the door with a young boy clinging to his hand. Dean looked as if he were talking to an old friend, which you weren’t the least bit shocked at. His ability to hold conversations with anyone and everyone was almost annoying to you, but now seeing him like this, it was charming. Then something had been said involving the boy, who shied away, hiding behind one of Dean’s legs. You chewed on the inside of your cheek, attempting to remember who the kid could have been. Surely he wasn’t Dean’s.
Right?
Dean chuckled and knelt down beside the kid and murmured a few words before the child nodded at him and stepped onto the bus. Dean smiled and waved at whoever the bus driver had been as the vehicle took off. You opened your door and stepped out, catching Dean’s attention. He furrowed his brows as if trying to place you in a setting so far away from what you were used to. He’d cut his hair again, his nose slightly red from the colder air, making his eyes nearly crystal. You wet your lips, unsure of your next move. “Is he yours?” You asked. It seemed like his mind had finally allowed him to recognize that it was indeed you standing at the edge of his yard.
He shook his head. “My brother’s. First day of year one, you know.” He gestured in the direction the bus had gone with a small smile. “I can’t believe you’re here,” he stated, taking a few steps towards you. You looked at your feet mildly in embarrassment, realizing how out of left field it was to just show up unannounced halfway across the world. He leaned against your car, stuffing his hands in his jacket pocket. A flannel shirt peeked out from beneath his dark coat, you noticed. The yellow and red leaves around the two of you seemed so out of place compared to the summer flowers and bright blue skies.
You cleared your throat. “I’m sorry for just showing up…”
He scoffed softly, a smile creeping across his lips. “I’m not.” You forced yourself to make eye contact with him, his excited expression warming your heart and reaching your nearly frozen fingertips. He stood up and wrapped himself around you, digging his face into the crook of your neck and breathing deeply. You let the tension from the last few months evade your body as you tucked your hands around his waist, yearning to touch the softness of his flannel. You weren’t sure how it was possible, but Dean still smelled like the summer sun was settling against his skin. He moved to kiss your cheek, and you met him with a chaste kiss against his lips. You relaxed against his touch.
“I met your friend at the gas station,” you hummed, turning to look at him. His mouth twisted into a smirk as a flash of disbelief beckoned behind his eyes. “He was very nice.”
Dean laughed. “Yeah, I’m sure he was.” He knotted your fingers with his and pulled you towards the small house, placing a kiss to the back of your hand as you continued up the pathway. The home spelled like apple pie and warmth that only a full house in fall could protrude. “Wait, I just remembered,” he stopped you after you both were in the house, discarding a layer or two to hang on the coat tree in the corner. You gave him a tilted expression of worry. “Are you okay with meeting my mom?” You were taken aback slightly with a grin but before you could answer, a woman’s voice beckoned from another room around the corner. Your smile widened and you nudged him in that direction.
The woman that had called for Dean was stout, with short hair and a kind face which was furrowed in concentration as she bustled around the stove, nursing a freshly made apple pie. “How’d he do? Did he get on the bus okay?” She asked, her expressions still focused on the task at hand. Dean cleared his throat, making her eyes snap up towards the two of you as Dean stepped out of the way between you and his mother. He put a hand on your shoulder, introducing you to her with a rather proud smile on his face. Her hand was warm and inviting as she greeted you after a moment of hesitation. Her sights flashed between Dean and you, as if asking him to pinch her. She smiled brightly as Dean wrapped an arm around your shoulders, recounting how he found you digging through the trash like a raccoon, making you roll your eyes and shrug his arm off playfully. It seemed like a click of time went by before she was shooing Dean outside to join the rest of the boys gathering leftover cherries. She looped her arm around yours, dragging you towards the back porch and offering you a seat.
You smiled to yourself, a rush of memories flooding from the back of your mind as Dean caught your eye. He played bashful, smirking at you from his position on a ladder beside a man that looked almost exactly like him. His cheeks were already a deeper red from the cooler temperature. It seemed like just yesterday you were perched on your own rocking chair, hungry to catch a glimpse of the new farmhand with dark curly hair and bright eyes. His smile was a carbon copy from the first time you met him, yet this time it seemed he looked at you with a sense of content as he watched his mother take to you so easily. “I’m not surprised you showed up here finally.” The woman broke the echo of calming silence that had settled between the two of you. You turned to her in your chair, pulling your eyes away from Dean. “He never shuts up about you. His brother thought you were fake to be honest,” she joked, making you chuckle lightly. “I’m glad you’re not,” she winked. You gave her a small smile before looking out towards the orchard again.
“I’m sorry to impose, really,” you apologized, a pang of worry thundering in your chest.
She scoffed. “Please! We were bound to meet sometime anyway,” she gestured towards Dean lightly. “Figured he’d ask you at some point.” Her comment was set at an ease you didn’t think your mother could ever have been at. Her welcoming calmness was comforting to you.
Still, you wet your lips cautiously. “Speaking of that, I actually wanted to talk to you,” you chewed. She put her glasses on top of her head, her eyes searching yours much like Dean’s had so many times before. “I was wondering if I could get your blessing. I want to marry Dean.” You held your breath as she blinked at you. Her eyebrow quirked up and she settled back in her chair with a sly smirk painted across her thin lips.
“I had to ask his father to marry me, you know? Those Chapman boys,” she sighed. “Where would they be without us.” You scoffed, shocked at her statement. She turned to grin at you before answering her own question. “Probably dying alone, right?” You chuckled lightly. She patted your hand, which rested on the edge of your rocker. “From what I’ve heard, you’re perfect for Dean. I don’t think I could have picked better for him.” You sighed in relief, your nervousness and unsettled stress had finally subsided with her words.
You waited until the sun had set, spending the day getting to know Dean’s family and attempting to understand the cherry farming business when you barely understood your own father’s crops. Dean’s nephew had nearly jumped into the house after he had finally been released from school for the day; the family members around welcomed him like he had been off to war. Members of the small community in town had shown up at the door bearing casseroles and pies, a tradition for fall nights like this one which you figured you could get used to. And before you knew it, you and Dean were perched side-by-side on the back steps, looking out over the orchard to gaze at the stars overhead. You snuggled up against Dean’s side as he looped an arm around yours, his eyes twinkling with the light from the moon. One of his thumbs absent-mindedly slipped into your sleeve to rub against your wrist. You were beat from the events of the day, or maybe just your ridiculous nerves skyrocketing up and down, but finally you could say you were at peace. You were right where you’d want to be, for as long as you could be.
You cleared your throat mildly. “Dean, will you marry me?” You asked, seemingly into the dark void of the night, rather than to the man braided into you. He shifted slightly to look at you, making you sit up a bit straighter.
A cocky grin spread across his face. “I thought you’d never ask,” he jested, making you shove his shoulder and send him into a small giggle fit. “I’m joking,” he breathed, pecking your lips gently. “I’ll marry you if you marry me,” he added.
You shook your head at his petulant jinxing. “All right, then it’s settled,” you responded.
“Is there some kind of dowry or do I take you for free?” He taunted with another giggle.
“I take it back,” you groaned sarcastically. He laughed harder, pulling you closer to him to seal the moment in a kiss.

🎵☁️💫 I love you 3000- Bokuto Kotaro x Reader 🎵☁️💫
~🎵 I see you standing there
In your hulk underwear
And all I can think
Is where is the ring 🎵 ~
Seeing Bokuto walking around the house in his hulk underwear was an astonishing sight. Don't get Y/n wrong, it was a sight to behold but it was extremely charming too. Y/n rolled her eyes. This is the man she fell for over and over. She still falls for his charm, it's a never ending cycle of falling for him everyday. But that's why she loves him and him only.
She just wants to marry him there and then.
~ 🎵 'Cause I know you wanna ask
Scared the moment will pass
I can see it in your eyes
Just take me by surprise 🎵 ~
Bokuto looked at the girl. All he could think was "Wow". Y/n is beautiful and adorable. Her smile could easily light up a pitch black room and she could make anyone's day. He has the ring in his pocket now. Contemplating whether he should pop the question.
Y/n looked at the man. She knew something was up but she couldn't put her finger on it. "Kotaro, you alright?" Y/n asks. Her soothing yet sweet voice was music to his ears. Bokuto's hand clutched onto the ring in his pocket. He played it off cool and shook his head.
"Damn it, I missed my shot" He thought to himself.
~🎵 And all my friends they tell me they see
You're planning to get on one knee
But I want it to be out of the blue
So make sure I have no clue
When you ask 🎵 ~
"Y/n-chan~ I hear Bokuto is planning to ask you a little something~" Maki, Y/n's bestfriend teased. Y/n cocked her head to the side, "what do you mean?" The girl tried to play dumb, though she knew exactly what her friend meant. Even if it was true, Y/n prayed to God it would be a total surprise.
~🎵 Baby, take my hand
I want you to be my husband
'Cause you're my Iron Man
And I love you 3000 🎵 ~
Y/n held her hand in Bokuto's. They were larger and rougher than hers but that's what she loves about them. He is a hardworking man that perseveres and Y/n wishes that more people would see that in him. She rubbed circles on the base of his hand and comments, "your hands are big Bokuto."
He nods enthusiastically, "your tiny hands are cute Y/n." She smiles back and leans on his shoulder, "Kotarou, I love you."
"I love you too!" He casually says. Y/n could never get enough of his enthusiastic personality. It's just admirable and inspirational to her. "That's why I love you." Y/n thought to herself as she savoured every second of the moment.
~🎵 Baby, take a chance
'Cause I want this to be something
Straight out of a Hollywood movie 🎵 ~
"Ne Y/n, if I were to let's say... propose, how would you want me to?" Bokuto asks. Y/n thought about it for a while. Hmm... what DOES she want?
"I want it to be something straight out of a Hollywood movie! Not saying that I want something extravagant but I want something fun and out of the box I guess?"
Bokuto wasn't being the most secretive about his whole propsal plan but it was quite fine. Y/n was just wondering what her dear boyfriend will come up with!
~🎵 Now we're having dinner
And baby you're my winner
I see the way you smile
You're thinking about the aisle 🎵 ~
The two lovers were now eating away in a fancy restaurant together. Usually they don't splurge on things but Y/n wanted to go here for months so Bokuto surprised her by booking a spot her. Everyone including Y/n was surprised that Bokuto knew how to book seats! Y/n was genuinely happy and proud of Bokuto.
As Y/n was chomping down her food, ( as gracefully as possible of course ;) ) Bokuto couldn't help but to chuckle at the sight. "This is the woman I'm going to marry." He thought to himself. He smiles at the sight of his lover, savouring every bite of her food.
He couldn't help but to imagine her in a wedding dress, walking down the aisle, and him waiting on the other side.
"Ko-kun? What are you thinking about?" Y/n asked as she smiles at him. It wasn't often that the two spent a lot of time together. Not saying that it was rare but yeah, time was hard to come by for the two.
"Nothing sweetheart! Continue eating!!! You look adorable chomping down on the food."
But deep-down, Y/n knew that he was thinking of something else.
~🎵 You reach in your pocket
Emotion unlocking
And before you could ask
I answer too fast 🎵 ~
Bokuto wanted to catch Y/n off-guard by proposing while she was eating. He reached into his pocket for the tiny box and pulled it out. His heart was beating hard. This was it.
He got onto one knee and before he could say his lines, Y/n squealed and exhaled a loud yes.
Right there and then the two were confused. "W-wait Y/n you didn't know what I was going to say though."
Y/n blushes hard and face palms herself. What has she done! Now it's all weird and awkward! Y/n apologised and shyly said, "sorry Ko-kun, you should continue. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
Bokuto couldn't help but to fall for her even more. Gosh, she is so cute and weird. That's what he loves about her.
( a/n: hey uhm, imma skip a few songlines here because they wouldn't fit in this context. Im sorry guys!!! 🙇♀️ )
~🎵 Baby, take my hand
I want you to be my husband
'Cause you're my Iron Man
And I love you 3000🎵 ~
Bokuto said what he has been wishing to tell Y/n after all these years and Y/n couldn't help but to cry tears of joy. After all these years, he was still the same highschool boy she fell for. After all these years, he was still the passionate volleyball player people love him for.
After all these years, they still love each other.
Bokuto slipped the ring onto his lover's finger and placed a gentle kiss on the back of her hand. He got up and the two embraced each other tightly. "I want you and only you to be my husband." Y/n muttered out in a shaky voice.
"Because you are like my superhero. I love you so much." The girl continued.
Bokuto chuckles and strokes her back gently, "Ne Y/n, I love you 3000."
~🎵 And I love you 3000 🎵 ~
After the whole extravaganza, the two walked to the car together, hand in hand. What a wonderful day today. The two loved each other more than ever and everyone around them could feel their strong love for each other.
Y/n kissed his cheek and said in a sing-song tone,
"I love you 3000~."

The Fruits of Love
Summary: "When we first met, you thought I was a pompous airhead and I thought you were nothing short of insufferable. If anyone had told me then I would one day spend my mornings waking up in your arms and kissing your illegally handsome face, I’d have told them to take a long walk off a short pier." Logan can't believe the wedding is finally happening, but even his nerves can't stop him from marrying the prince of his dreams.
Pairings: Logan/Roman, brotherly Virgil/Logan, background Virgil/Deceit/Patton
Rating: G Warnings: a whole heckin lotta fluff On AO3
I realized I never posted this to tumblr lol, so here yall go
-----
Logan exhaled deep and slow as he took one final look at himself in the full-length mirror. He smoothed his hands over the skirt of his dress, trying to focus on the sensation of smooth silk and textured ruffle rather than the clammy chill that had settled into his palms. The layers over his hips accented his low curves, holding him in an embrace as comforting as his fiance did each night. There was not a crinkle to be found in the fabric, nor a hair out of place from his wavy curls, and yet he felt as disheveled as the dressing room around him, which had been cleared of his half of their wedding party only moments before as they scrambled to get the finishing touches of their outfits in order before the ceremony.
Now, the groom-to-be was alone with his thoughts and a raising heart rate. He could do this, there was no reason for the flush of nervousness that sent a cool tingly sensation to the tips of his manicured fingers and toes (styled like miniature galaxies, of course, his brother was an exceptional artist, even with nail polish). There were less people out there than in any of his lectures, and all of the audience would be close friends and family, and yet...and yet…
He startled when someone softly knocked on the door, looking over his shoulder to see his brother, and best man, peeking in.
“You almost ready?” Virgil asked, stepping inside and closing the door behind him. With what was likely a pitiful expression, Logan turned and reached for his older brother. Virgil didn’t hesitate to step closer, gathering him close. He cupped Logan’s face, smoothing his thumbs over his brother’s cheeks and drawing him close to touch their foreheads together. “Hey, it’s gonna be okay, LB. The love of your life is waiting for you out there, annoying as ever, but looking damn good too. Just don’t tell him I said that, or I’ll never hear the end of it.”
Logan huffed a small laugh, both at Virgil’s never-ending rivalry with his fiance, and the childhood nickname he would never shake - not that he wanted to. LB. Logan Baras. Little Brother. Logan Berries. Lotsa Binch. Really, it was getting ridiculous at this point, but it was an in-joke that had been evolving since they were in grade school. It was also part of the reason why Logan had asked to keep his last name, or hyphenate the two, after the wedding; he couldn’t bear to part with such an ingrained part of himself. Thankfully, Baras-Sanders rolled off the tongue quite nicely, in his opinion.
He raised his hands, mirroring his elder brother’s position to cradle Virgil’s face in turn. “I swear that will remain between you and I, else I will never hear the end of his gloating over your compliment either.” The pair chuckled before Logan trailed off with a sigh. “I .. I am…” A second shaky exhale. “I’m anxious, VB.” Virgil Baras. Very (Big) Brother. Vigilant Bro-tector. Vain Bastard. An eye for an eye, as they say. “I know our friends and family support our relationship, but many of them are unaware that I will be wearing a dress and make-up! Not to mention how unorthodox our choice of venue is - I can’t believe I let him talk me into hosting our wedding at his theater, and -”
“Hey!” Virgil’s low voice cut him off with a small shake of his head. “Hey... it’s my job to be the worry-wart here, remember? Deep breaths, okay? And stop chewing on your lip! Do you know how long it took me to get that ombre just right?”
Logan rolled his eyes, but obliged; he really didn’t want to sit through another session of his brother’s perfectionist fussing.
“Now, you look fucking amazing. Like damn gurl, slay it.” Virgil’s deadpanned drawl in a mockery of their mutual friend, Remy, had Logan snorting a giggle. “But seriously, LB, I can promise you that everyone out there is going to be stunned at how gorgeous this dress is, and how radiant you are… and no one more than that idiot you fell in love with. You’re gonna walk out there, and Za is gonna be with you to walk you down the aisle, and mom will be crying, and I’m gonna waiting on stage too, but you’re only gonna have eyes for the man you are marrying today.”
With a shaky smile and watery eyes, Logan lunged forward to wrap is older brother in a tight hug, burying his face into the crook of the other’s shoulder. “The proper pronunciation is ‘going to’, and I love you so goddamn much, VB.” Pulling back, he cycled a deep breath, and squeezed Virgil’s upper arms gently. “Thank you. Now, I believe we have a wedding to attend.”
Walking out of the dressing room arm-in-arm, the brothers snuck around the side doors so they could enter the theatre from the foyer with the rest of the wedding party. The assorted group of groomsmen, groomsladies, and friends of honour turned as they approached, the other best man breaking away to sweep Logan into a hug.
“Oh Lolo! You look stunning!” Patton pulled back, stars in his eyes as he looked over the whorls of colour covering the ballgown-style dress. “Wow…. This dress is absolutely perfect on you! And it matches your pretty make-up! Oh!! This is so wonderful!!” He fanned his face, trying to hold back the tears that were already threatening to fall. “I can’t believe you two are finally getting married!”
A blush graced Logan’s cheeks with a soft smile. “I cannot either; it feels like a dream come true.”
“Speaking of the wedding - we really need to get that started here, people!” A voice cut in, drawing the group’s attention to the ring-and-flower bearer of the ceremony. Denali approached the trio, slipping their hands into both Virgil and Patton’s. Their outfit was a delightful mix of both their genders: the tighter bodice giving way to a flared coattail-skirt with striped pants matched well with their colourful make-up - done on only one half of their face. The ensemble was completed with a wide-brimmed hat topped with an extravagantly flowing feather. “I love that you’re all being cutesy over here, I really do, but I don’t want to have to listen to Roman whine later that we left him standing at the altar. So-” They raised their voice, addressing the wedding party as a whole. “I need everyone to buddy up and line up! We have some gay nerds who need to get married!”
With a wave to cue the sound operator, the music began. A chuckle rippled through the crowd as they recognized the entrance music as a slowed version of the Lord of the Rings’ iconic theme. Virgil and Patton grinned at one another and planted a kiss on both of Denali’s cheeks simultaneously before linking arms and striding into the theater. Two by two, the rest of the wedding party followed, walking down the center aisle through the audience, and parting at the stage to walk up the stairs on each side. Their lines met once more to either side of Roman and the officiant, an array of suits and dresses in colours accenting the grooms’. Denali completed the proceeding on his own, tossing flower petals with a flourish so grand one would almost believe this was their wedding.
Then, the room faded into silence, and, as the opening notes of the original 1963 Doctor Who opening theme (stylized for a wedding procession, of course) played out, Logan rounded the corner. Arm linked with his Za, and a bouquet accented with peacock feathers held in his other hand, the groom looked ethereal in the spotlight. The blues and greys of his dress and make-up sparkled as he made his way past the most important people in his and Roman’s life, and if he had been able to look away from Roman’s eyes for a moment, he would have seen only love and awe radiating back from them.
Logan hugged his Za tightly as they stopped in front of the stage, smiling with tears in his eyes as his beloved parent tipped his head down to kiss his forehead. When Roman stepped down the stairs at center stage, his burgundy suit and silver filigree circlet lending him the regal air of royalty he had always hoped to achieve, his soon-to-be Za-in-law pulled him into a hug too. Ze guided the grooms’ hands together, squeezing them gently with a smile, and stepped back to sit with zir wife to watch as they officially welcomed another son into their lives.
Ever the gentleman, Roman helped his beloved up the steps, ensuring the skirt of his dress didn’t get caught under the practical blue flats Logan had chosen to wear. Thankfully, there was no train to wrangle, as it was an excess of fabric that Logan had no desire to waste or trip over. As they took their places, Virgil stepped forward to take the bouquet, letting the grooms hold both hands with matching smiles.
Clearing his throat, the officiant - and theater owner, and close friend of Roman’s - Thomas, began the ceremony.
“Mawage.” A smirk was tugging at his lips as both grooms’ jaws dropped. “Mawage is wot bwings us togeder today. Mawage, that bwessed awangement, that dweam wifin a dweam…” Slowly, Logan began to grin, Roman already biting his lip to muffle his giggles. “And wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva..” Of course Thomas had chosen to quote the movie they had watched together on their first date. “So tweasure your wuv.”
The entire wedding party was giggling now, as well as a fair number in the audience. Thomas, looking far too pleased with himself, continued in his normal, exuberant tone. “I truly believe the pair standing before us today not only each embody the beautiful magic that blossoms in the heart when one has found true love, but they choose each and every day to work together to care for those precious gardens. They shared carefully tended clippings made from their vulnerabilities and strengths, their fears and their trust, and lovingly incorporated these parts of their partner into their hearts. At times, yes, there were weeds which needed to be pulled. Some just needed to be identified to deal with, while others required both of them pulling with all their might to remove. Those deep roots could have left holes in their gardens, but instead, our handsome grooms chose to fill in the spaces so new seedlings could begin to grow. The literal fruits of their labour have culminated here today, as they promise themselves to one another for the rest of their lives.”
Smiling widely, Thomas retrieved a ring box from the pocket of his suit and held it out. “Roman, I can tell you are absolutely bursting with the need to profess your love right now. We’ll let you say your vows first then.” A laugh rippled through the crowd, Logan snickering too as his betrothed shrugged with a sheepish smile but did not deny the claim.
With his fingers cupped under Logan’s, cradling and supporting them, Roman held up their joined hands and kissed his knuckles. “Hey nerd,” he began, drawing another laugh from their friends and family, and a smiling eye-roll from his beloved. “I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to be the one standing up here with you today. When we first met, you thought I was a pompous airhead and I thought you were nothing short of insufferable. If anyone had told me then I would one day spend my mornings waking up in your arms and kissing your illegally handsome face, I’d have told them to take a long walk off a short pier. But, by Julie Andrews, here we are, and I couldn’t imagine my life without you by my side. You are my greatest joy, my strongest support, and my deepest love. I swear, with every fibre of my being, I will spend everyday striving to be the same for you. I swear to care for you through the good and the bad, to celebrate your victories like they were my own, and to provide for you safety from the noise of the world when all you need is someone on your side. I love you, Logan, this I swear to you.”
Delicately plucking a ring from its satin cushion in the box, Roman cradled Logan’s hand and slipped the band over his left finger. The silver band was inset with three small red stones set on a diagonal, mimicking Orion’s belt - the only constellation Roman could confidently identify for years, frequently and loudly, much to their joined amusement. Woven through the gemstones was a simple silver filigree, and all of which perfectly complemented the engagement ring already at home on Logan’s finger.
If at all possible, Thomas was smiling wider, eyes damp. “Logan? It’s your turn.”
With a sniffle, Logan looked from the wedding band up into the eyes of his love, determined to make it through the ceremony without ruining his make-up. Tenderly, he shifted Roman’s hands so both cradled Logan’s left, around his rings, around their promise. Right hand freed, Logan reached up to cradle Roman’s cheek and smooth his thumb over those sharp cheekbones, accented today with a glittering highlight.
“Roman,” he began, voice a little strained with emotion. “Gods above, Ro, only you and that ridiculously handsome smile of yours could make me forget every carefully planned out word I wanted to say.” The couple shared a chuckle, Roman’s hands tightening briefly around his. “You are every bit the royalty you claim to be. Even now, I cannot recall which one of us began to pursue the other, but I will surely never forget how patient you have been with me through every step of our relationship. Not once have you ever asked more from me than I was willing to share, and nor did you get angry or leave when I requested we slow down because I was scared of how quickly I found myself falling for you. I used to relish in my solitude, in the silence of my own company, but somehow you managed to worm your stubborn way over my walls. You have become a vital part of my life, and I find it unnervingly quiet when you are not around. I cannot even enjoy star-gazing alone anymore! Roman, I need you to know, I would never have it any other way. I swear to care for you through the good and the bad, to celebrate your victories like they were my own, and to provide for you safety from the noise of the world when all you need is someone on your side. I love you, Roman, you truly are the prince of my dreams.”
There was not a dry eye in the theater as Logan retrieved the matching ring to his own from the box and slid it delicately onto Roman’s finger. The equally silver band sat alongside Roman’s engagement ring like it were expressly created to be there. The filigree crept around another trio of gemstones in the same position as Logan’s, though these were coloured a deep blue.
Clutching a hand to his heart, Thomas wiped the tears from his eye. “Roman James Sanders, do you take Logan to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
Unable to look away from his love, Roman nodded with a wide smile. “I do.”
“Logan Wilson Baras, do you take Roman to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
Logan nodded and squeezed their rejoined hands. “I do.”
“Then by the powers vested in me by the province of British Columbia, I now pronounce you husband and husband! You may kiss the groom!”
Logan had only a moment’s notice at Roman’s shit-eating grin, before he was swung around into a dip, his husband’s - husband!! - knee supporting his back and arms around his shoulder and neck. “You are positively ridiculous,” he muttered, before tugging Roman by the tie to share their first kiss as a wedded couple. Cheers and applause erupted around them, including a wolf-whistle that could have just as easily been from any member of their wedding party.
Straightening, the couple leaned together, Roman’s arm around Logan’s back, hand resting comfortingly on his opposite hip. They grinned, their friends and family standing as Thomas’ voice rang out once more. “Guys, gals, and nonbinary pals, for the first time ever, I present to you Mr. and Mr. Baras-Sanders!”
As a second cheer arose, Virgil stepped over to hand Logan his bouquet again, pulling his brother into a tight hug. “Congrats LB,” he whispered, before standing back and applauding the newly weds.
‘Love you’, Logan mouthed in return, smiling at his brother before turning back to Roman to join their hands and take their first steps into the next adventure of their lives together.

wow i’m updating this relatively soon can y’all believe? i have class in like a minute so i’ll probably only be able to watch one video IF i manage to shut the fuck up and finish it within half an hour so let’s see how this goes
anyway! you can see the previous parts if you want to, or blacklist “malec livewatch” if you are tired of this nonsense
today: episode 13! which i had forgotten existed. what do you mean things happened in s1 after the wedding? sounds fake
hmmm it took youtube a while to load the video so i was just listening to their voices for a while and ngl maryse’s voice is hmmmgggghhhh inspired
like not to b horny for maryse but i’m being horny for maryse. her voice is all velvety and smooth it just makes me [sweating emoji] mamacita, água na boca
she’s literally just ignoring alec like diouahsdiuahdsaiu look i know that in reality this is obviously how she rolls, it’s the same thing she does with izzy, you didn’t please me so you don’t exist, but after her being completely obliterated by alec last time it just looks like she’s a whiny kid singing “lalalala” when their friends try to talk to them like dauhdsiadhai girl ur like 40
“the fact that he’s a guy as you say is the least of my worries” and yet she says the word guy with the ultimate disdain dasdiuahdiaus ok
again we see how slimy robert is like alec turns to him and he’s just like *shrug* like he’s trying to be impartial yet the second maryse starts talking shit about magnus he immediately chimes in to talk shit too like diauhsdiauha he really is out there hiding all his shittiness behind her huh
i had forgotten the “even for a warlock, he’s a bit of a lothario” like what the fuck does that mean??? “all warlocks are sluts” - robert. well good for them mr lightwood????
again alec taking zero shit. “there’s so much you don’t know about him” “well, then i plan on getting to know him. and if you have a problem with that then i suggest you deal with it” inspired. gay rights. he’s so not giving a shit. we stan
seriously how do people write this guy as some helpless uwu boy who’s terrified of his parents and needs guidance to know what he wants lmao he’s saying that to his abusers completely straight-faced have yall watched the same show as i did
“what she did...” “saved my life” OOF
maryse’s face of pure anger and defeat lmao we stan. alec really said “i’m going to end the dynamics of abuse that has been put on me for 22 years in less than half an hour” and then he did that
magnus looking perfect as always ugh finally the content i come to youtube dot com for
the way he’s pacing all nervous i’m just aaaa and then he sees alec and just lights up but he’s also all suave immediately clearly trying to hide his nervousness and not come off too strong andf i just ui lojust love thninm
“on a scale of one to ten, how unpleasant was it?” “off the charts” daiohdsaudhaiuhsad this is such an amazing dialogue i just... i really love the way they talk to each other??? they really have chemistry and they’re being so honest with each other yet so casual and it’s just... fun, you know? like you can see why they like each other even in those small almost small-talkey moments. alec never speaks like that to anyone else, not even izzy, in s1, but here he completely allows himself to just say what he feels and laugh about it and it’s just so good and nice??? i love they
“i’ve never seen her so angry” and the way magnus immediately reaches out to him and goes “just give her some time” and he looks so scared and desperate like he’s CLEARLY afraid that alec will regret it and he has no idea what to expect. so far alec has always been backing down at the last minute and he’s come to expect it, they’ve clearly already gone way further than usual now so WHEN is the other shoe going to drop? he doesn’t know alec well enough to know that now that he’s committed there’s nothing that could stop him, and he’s just waiting for rejection, to hear that alec regrets it and i just aaaaaaa
OH MY GOD GOOD FUCK THE WAY MAGNUS GOES “DON’T UNDERESTIMATE A PARENT’S LOVE” AND THEN HIS FACE COMPLETELY FALLS SO GODDAMN SAD BECAUSE HE BELIEVES HE IS THE REASON HIS MOM KILLED HERSELF AND LIKE EITHER HE’S LYING HERE TO PLACATE HIM BUT MOST LIKELY HE TRULY BELIEVES THAT IS TRUE BUT THAT IT DOESN’T APPLY TO HIM BECAUSE HE’S JUST THAT UNLOVABLE AND AAAAA
YOU DON’T REGRET IT DO YOU? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
magnus’ EYES when he says “we owe her” the fucking RELIEF and happiness and HOPE and FEAR like shut the fuck up how can a single soul say that mr harry shum jr is not the absolute best actor that has ever graced their computer screen. fuck this he’s so talented i’m going to CRY just because he has eyes
“eyes are able to express every emotion” actually just statistical error. mr harry shum jr, who’s able to express 500% more emotions than humans are able to feel, is an outlier and should not have been counted
“maybe we can slow things down” aaaaaaaaaaaaa i’m going to cry he’s really so fucking scared that he’s going to come off too strong again and that alec will resent him
everyone keeps interrupting them when the date comes up fuck u lydia for being passed out u homophobe (that’s a joke i’m joking)
I FINISHED THE VIDEO EXACTLY ONE MINUTE BEFORE CLASS STARTS YES. RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN

Trails of fire - Chapter 1
8 years prior
Zendaya and Chris are at the Beach, And are having a walk by the water.
"I'm so happy that we're getting married" she said
"Me too but I want to promise you something'
The stop walking and look each other in the eye.
"I promise to always love you, I promise to always be there for you, I promise to support you and to always make you happy"
"i promise the same thing, I love you"
"I love you too" he screamed, he then picked her up and started to twirl her around
------------------------------------------------------- 8 years prior - wedding day (vows)
"Chris would you like to say your vows" the priest asked
""As we start our married life together today, I make these promises before our families and friends:
I will continually challenge myself to become the best husband I can be; always looking to put you before myself and making your dreams our dreams.
I will love you; I will adore you; I will cherish you; I will be faithful to you.
I will be thoughtful and mindful in the way I act around other people, whether we are together or apart. I will always seek to give you no reason to be jealous over another person. music has always been a big part of our life and You will always be the greatest song I could and would ever sing.
I will trust you in all things, never doubting you, or looking for reassurance of things you have already promised me.
I will help you discover your full potential, pushing you to become the best you can be, to support and ensure your hopes and dreams come to fruition.
I will stand by your side in all things, the highs and the lows, always finding agreement in everything that we do as husband and wife.
I will keep God at the centre of our relationship and love you as Christ loves the Church." Chris said and wiped away her tears
"Zendaya would you like to say your vows?"
""I promise to be your faithful wife. I promise to love you when the sun shines, when the rain falls, in sickness, and in health. When you look at this ring, think of me and remember that I love you always."
"I promise to be the woman that I see now in your eyes, today, tomorrow, and for always."
"What is a wife? I must admit, I'm not sure. All I know is that I am devoted to you completely and am made a better person because of your love. wife then is a thing that a good marriage makes, molds, and creates whole. If that is what a husband/wife means, then I am prepared to be yours."
"I vow to always protect you from harm, to stand with you against your troubles, and look to you when I need protection."
"I take thee to be my wife and promise to look into your eyes just like I do now, with love and soulful amazement. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
"I promise to try to be worthy of your love in every way, to climb mountains, and swim oceans just to be by your side. I will be honest, caring, patient and forgiving, and I will always be a loyal wife."
"You fill my life with meaning. Thank you for taking me as I am, loving me, and welcoming me into your heart. I promise to always love you, respect you, and to be faithful to you forever."
------------------------------------------------------- present
"Chris you can't just leave like that" she yelled
" Daya i gotta go to this import meeting I will be back in 2 hours"
"no Chris I already told how busy I am gonna be, I literally have to leave in 15 min" she pointed out to him while following him to the door
"can't you call your mom, my mom or one of your sisters to watch the kids" he said while looking for his car keys
"no i cant they were all gonna be busy thats why I ask-"
"I'm sorry Zendaya but I really have to go now" he finally found his key and walked out the door
"arrrghhhh" she yelled angry
"mommy are you okay" het 4 year old asked worried
"mom is fine why don't you go watch tv"
"okay mommy"
Zendaya went to the kitchen and picked up her phone and try to contact her dad but it went straight to voicemail
she didn't have a any other option and called everything off, she then went upstairs to change in her comfy clothes
before going downstairs she came across a picture of their wedding day
"is this really my life right now" she whispered to herself, she shook her head and went to the kitchen to make the kids some lunch
Pov Chris
I just finished my 4 hour meeting and now I got a call that I had to be in the studio to record a song.
"ay Chris good you came man" his producer said
"we gonna record something new?"
"no we gotta change a couple of sounds for this song on your album"
"alright man"
Chris went to the booth and put his headphones one and started to sing

he picked his stuff, said his goodbye to everybody and drove home
--------------------------- its 9 pm now and chris is still not back from his so called meeting. so her cousin came to check on her after work
"you want some wine" Daya asked
"yes please"
she poured the 2 of them some wine and sat down on the coach
"tell me why are you so upset, what wrong with you and Chris" her cousin asked
Daya took a long sip before she answered her question
"it has been a lot, and I don't feel happy right now in my marriage... we have been fighting like crazy, he always at work and comes home late and his excuse is that he was at a meeting. he always leave me with the kids like I had a couple of important meetings today and I had to cancel my whole entire day because he had to leave. so much has been going on I bet he doesn't even realize that I'm not happy."
"wow i didint even know that has been going on, have you tried counseling or just talking it out with each other"
"we don't even talk like that anymore, I don't understand what happened to us, one moment we was happy and the next thing I know all we do is fight" she said as she started to cry
her cousin placed her glass on the table and went to give her a hug
"listen, yall need to talk to each other and tell each other what y'all need and figure out where it went wrong in y'all marriage. you both can't continue to do this to each other and remember they kids need both sets of parent that love each other. do you still love him?"
"I do....without a doubt but he is just not making me happy right now"
"well then focus on the that, that you love him and when you do talk tell him what you need from him and you both should fix whatever is going on in y'all marriage that isn't healthy for you, him and the kids"
"okay i will" she said and took a deep breath
a couple of hours later her cousin left, so she started to clean up a bit so she could go to bed.
while she walked to the steps she saw the piano and decided to play a song that come in to her mind
"Where did we go wrong?
Is it all my fault? Where did we go wrong? Is it all my fault?
From the very start I was so into you Ooh from the beginning I was so so feeling you But you thought I cheated, that I played around on you But didn't you do the same, didn't you, didn't you?
Where did we go wrong? Is it all my fault? Where did we go wrong? Is it all my fault?
I wish I would've listened I wish I would've heard
Ooh I wish I would've touched you baby I wish I would've said the words That I love you, I love you I love you I love you, I love you"
"that was beautiful" he said
"how long have you been standing there"
"when you started to sing"
he walked to the piano and sat next to her
"I'm sorry I'm late I-"
"was at the studio.. mhh hum I know" she said dry looking at him
"baby what wrong" he said while trying to touch her shoulder
"really Chris don't baby me, you really don't know whats wrong" she looked at him like he was dumb
"no"
"wow Chris..you know what don't even bother im going to bed" she stood up from the stool and walked up the stairs
he watched her walk up the steps and then looked at the picture on the piano
"what happened to us" he whispered to himself

Tonight's The Night! (part 11) TheDirt! TommyXReader
Summary: You have been on tour for almost a year, event after event, mile after mile. Your uncle was Doc the manager of Mötley Crüe, one of your favorite bands. He pulled a few strings and got you on this tour for a late birthday present and for making up the lost time from when you didn’t see him much as a child. As he was one of the only ‘father’ figures you had. Recently found yourself thinking more and more of Tommy. Could you possibly be falling in love with the hopeless romantic? If you were could he possibly feel the same?
Taglist: @bandzrus @lauravic @abbysdogcollar
A/N: We skipped a few months and the pov is back on you. Enjoy! And my birthday was a few days ago! thought I should tell yall.
Words:778
“Y/N, were you jealous? is that why you started fucking Nikki.” Tommy stood before you, his lanky arms folded in front of him, both of you were outside and it was pouring. Cliche I know right.
“What? No. If you're happy with Heather then I'm happy for you Tommy.” You were completely soaked at this point, you couldn't look at Tommy, you could lie your ass off to the cops but when it came to this crue you couldn't lie to any of them.
“Y/N look at me and say it,” Tommy took a hold of your shoulders, gently. “Tell me That I need to get married to Heather. Please. Goddamnit Y/N you drive me crazy. I haven't gotten you off my mind. Say that you feel nothing for me.”
“I can't.” You looked up at the sky even though it was raining, you were holding back tears.
“Then tell me you love me.”
You woke up from the little nap that you took. Today was the day of Tommy’s and Heather's wedding, you were less than happy about it. you slowly got up and went to the bathroom to take something for the headache you've had for the day hearing a knock on the door you walked to it. Opening you saw no other than Tommy fucking Lee right in front of you.
“Tommy?” You stepped out of your house, the sky was dark and you could smell that rain was coming. “What are you doing here? You're supposed to be getting married soon.” You crossed your arms over your chest.
“Am I doing this right?” Tommy’s question was deep.
“Doing what right, getting married? Tommy if you're happy with Heather then go be with her, I don't know what you're doing here.”
“I don’t think I’m in love with Heather.”
“I, I don't understand.” You looked at Tommy confused.

“I can't.” You looked up at the sky even though it was raining, you were holding back tears.
“Then tell me you love me.”
“Tommy. Tommy fucking Lee,” You took a step towards him. “I have loved you longer then you could ever know. Long before you even knew me. I will love you longer than anyone or anything, well besides your parents.” You looked at Tommy’s beautiful eyes, searching for something.
Tommys lips landed in a smile, his eyes darted to your mouth then back up to your eyes.
“What are you waiting for drummer?” Next thing you knew his mouth was on yours finally. It felt like literal fireworks. Pulling away you looked at him, searching for something like he felt something on his side too.
“Wow.” He grinned, leaning his head on yours.
“Wow.” You giggled, and he could’ve sworn he heard a angel.
You looked at him confused “Does she know your not getting married to her?”
“Well not totally...”
“Go tell her then come back to me cowboy.” Your voice stern yet still angelic. And with that he was gone again.
A few hours had gone by and you were getting nervous that after all he got married. Leaving you alone with just some scotch and a piano. You started playing the beginning and ending notes of later song known as Home Sweet Home, tuning the notes when it didn’t sound right. But you didn’t know was that Tommy was listening as he entered your sparcly decorated house. You stopped playing for a second and took a sip from your glass, finally hearing a clap.
“That sounds nice but for the last two notes it should sound like this.” Tommy fingers caressed the keys and carefully played the instrument. A soft smile rose to your face as you knew he was the one.
“What are you staring at?” He laughed his usual Tommy laugh.
“You.”
Next thing you knew was his lips on yours once again.

Yall might need some tissues cuz that’s gonna be Altissia, probably, hohoho. Anyways, try to enjoy! ALSO! The next chapter may take longer to come out because I’m moving to South Korea next month and uh, I’ma be busy! But I’ll hopefully find time to write! Enjoy~
_________
Lunafreya’s POV
It was gorgeous – Altissia was. The bright blue ocean surrounded the city with vast waterfalls around almost every corner. When the oracle entered the city a couple of days ago, it felt as if she was transcending into a new world. It looked so peaceful here. More so than her home of Tenebrae or anywhere else she’s visited. Immediately, she had been greeted by waterfalls and castle-like structures. Inside the city, citizens and visitors from other countries roamed the streets carefree – both day and night. The fear of nightly daemon attacks didn’t exist here, and it felt like a haven to the blonde woman. Gondolas were around every corner as it was the way of travel in the city surrounded by water. Lunafreya stared in awe as couples and families excitedly rode the wooden boats to their destinations. It was truly a dream-like city. If she were to die soon, she’d want it to happen here. Tenebrae and Lucis brought her pain and she wanted to die someplace where she wasn’t reminded of her mother being murdered before her very eyes or the reminder of seeing King Regis fall dead to the floor while she escaped. Though Altissia was under Imperial rule, it still retained its own government and by that, to Lunafreya, it didn’t feel as if she was constantly being watched. In fact, she was immediately taken into the care of Altissia’s current representative, Camelia Claustra. Though the Empire was close by, she felt slightly at ease.
Lunafreya was still reportedly dead to the world so exploring the city was something she couldn’t do. She did, however, visit the church where she was to wed Noctis. Her blue eyes had widened in amazement at the place. The inside was completely white with a giant window at the end that displayed three overflowing waterfalls. The stained glass that made up for the other windows was decorated with pictures of the history of Altissia, even down to where it was part of Solheim and under the rule of the Gods. The church was the oldest building in the city. Besides the white interior, gold hues filled out the rest of the venue. The cushioned seats were a golden color, as well as, gold specks sparkled on the white marble floors. A gold grand piano stood near the priest’s podium and Lunafreya imagined hearing “Here Comes the Bride” being played on it as she walked towards the love of her life. What amazed Lunafreya the most about the altar, however, was the giant portraits of her and Noctis that hung down from the ceilings. Noctis’s portrait, which showcased him in his formal prince attire – something Lunafreya had never witnessed in person – hung on the side where Lunafreya would have stood while her portrait hung on Noctis’s side. It had brought tears to the oracle’s eyes as her heart wept in both happiness and sadness. Happiness because the city and others did so much to prepare for the royal wedding between two old friends. Happiness because it confirmed that she was supposed to marry the man she’s been in love with for the past couple of years. She was so close to being reunited with Noctis. She was so close to being with him – even if just for a little while. And that’s where her sadness came in.
Again, the Empire found a way to separate her from the ones she loved. Lunafreya knew that Noctis’s true calling was upon them, but she had hoped to live blissfully with him for a bit – before the summoning of the Gods took the final toll on her. Her, Y/N, and Noctis… reunited. Though her sister despised the man for unknown reasons, she knows Y/N would’ve eventually lived happily with Noctis and her. Besides, Lunafreya knew Y/N didn’t actually despise Noctis. It was just a façade the younger woman put on for reasons to Lunafreya unknown.
“How is the oracle feeling today?” The voice of Gentiana caused Lunafreya’s ears to perk up. The blonde woman, who had been gazing out at the city from her room in Claustra’s presidential-like house, pushed herself off the window and faced the divine messenger.
“The same as yesterday. I’m weak and I don’t know if I’ll have the strength to summon the Leviathan.”
Gentiana’s expression was emotionless as she took in Lunafreya’s words. Though her expression didn’t say how she felt, Lunafreya knew she was worried deep down.
“The Chosen one and thy sister shall arrive soon. Then the summoning shall take place…”
“How… soon? Will I have a chance to see them before the summoning? If not Noctis… can I at least see Y/N? She’s been so worried about me and I want to properly-“ Lunafreya suddenly stopped speaking as a lump formed in her throat. Tears formed in her eyes as she thought about the words she was going to say. “Properly… say goodbye…”
Gentiana bowed her head as she crossed her hands in front of her. Lunafreya stared silently at the woman as a tear escaped her eye. “Within a week’s time shall they be here. From Umbra’s report, there are still things to be done in Lucis…”
“Will I see Y/N when they arrive? Will I be able to hug my sister for one last time?” Lunafreya swallowed hard to push back the lump. Instead of giving her an answer, Gentiana bowed to the oracle to dismiss herself. Lunafreya’s eyes widened in shock as the messenger vanished in front of her. Unable to control her tears any longer, Lunafreya let out a loud wail as she dropped to her knees.
“Noctis… Y/N… I’m so sorry…”
~!~
Your POV (Eight years ago)
“When the light fades from this world, I’ll no longer be by your side,” Lunafreya smiled sadly at the sky above her as a 13-year-old you rolled your eyes at your sister’s words for the umpteenth time. There she goes, spewing nonsense about whatever it was – the end of the world? – that she read from that fairytale book she’s obsessed with. You both were out in the field of sylleblossoms, lazily watching the clouds float by. It was the first time you had spent time with your sister since she was sworn in as the new oracle. Immediately after the coronation, she had to travel to begin healing people from the scourge and reassuring people about the world. With her gone, that left you alone with Imperial soldiers who didn’t give you the time of day. You were lucky if they fed you. When Lunafreya started her travels, the ones you considered family went with her – Umbra, Pryna, and Gentiana. Ravus, of course, was now affiliated with the Empire. He stopped visiting as often after Lunafreya became the oracle. You had asked to be allowed to travel with your sister, however, the Empire didn’t trust you outside of the manor in fear you were plotting something against them. They weren’t wrong. If it wasn’t for Lunafreya, everything would’ve been up in flames by now.
“Is this what they teach you when you travel? That when the sun sets or whatever, you’re gonna just… poof, disappear?” You propped yourself up on your elbow to look at her. The 16-year-old let out a heavy sigh as she closed her eyes, a frown now present on her face.
“It is predestined by the Gods…”
“Well tell the Gods that as long as I’m here, you’re not going anywhere! I vow to protect you with my entire being!” Lunafreya’s eyes widened in sudden shock as you quickly jumped up and grinned smugly towards the sky. “We’ll always be together, no matter what the dumb Gods say.”
“Y/N, you can’t call them du-“
“And,” You looked down at the blonde teenager as she stared up at you, her blue eyes glistening with tears. “I’ll make sure to always put your happiness before mine. Besides, if it wasn’t for you… I wouldn’t be alive right now. I owe you everything, Lunafreya.”
Lunafreya let out a small chuckle as a tear rolled down her cheek. Hopping up, she immediately engulfed you in a hug. “Being my sister is enough.”
Closing your eyes, you returned her embrace. However, you immediately opened them as your eyes landed on the Imperial soldiers that stood guard from a far distance. You vowed to get Lunafreya out of here, whether you escaped with her or not. It was your fault that she was in this mess, so you would be the one to get her out. Lunafreya’s happiness was all you wanted for her and you wanted to be the one to give it to her.
~!~
Gladiolus’s POV
Usually Gladiolus and Ignis were the first ones to awaken among the four men – Noctis being last, of course. The muscular man would go off to a clear field not too far from the camp or motel while Ignis would be on a search for breakfast. Since Y/N joined the group, sometimes she would assist Ignis with the cooking – though the woman obviously had no idea as to what she was doing. Gladiolus would tease her about how it was because she came from royalty. That usually resulted in Y/N shooting daggers in his directions.
This morning was a little different, however. Ignis was uncharacteristically still asleep. Gladiolus assumed he was trying to gather as much sleep as possible to prepare for the long drive to Cape Caem. He didn’t understand why the 22-year-old didn’t just ask Noctis to assist in driving. The prince had held a license since he was 16, after all. Carefully making his way to the front of the room, Gladiolus glanced over at Prompto and Noctis who were dead to the world. He frowned slightly as his eyes focused in on Noctis. The prince was almost hopeless. Sure, he was strong, and his scrawny muscles got him by most days when fighting imperials and daemons, but his mentality was what Gladiolus feared the most. Was the prince aware of what was happening? Did he realize he ruled over Lucis now? More importantly, was Gladiolus fitted to protect the nonchalant prince? There were days the royal guard felt he could never live up to his father’s name or the past royal guards of the Lucis Caelum family. Hell, he felt even worse he couldn’t protect Jared or be there for Iris in her time of need. Was he fitted to guard someone so important to the world?
Shaking these thoughts from his head, he quietly slipped out of the room, shutting the door behind him. The motel they were staying in had a barren field behind it. Gladiolus had peeped out the place when they first arrived and instantly thought it was perfect for training. As he walked down the hall, his eyes glanced towards the door where Iris and Y/N slept. He thought about asking Y/N to train with him but knowing Iris, she would beg to come train as well. Gladiolus didn’t want his only remaining family member anywhere near danger. He was so relieved when they arrived at Lestallum and saw Iris wasn’t hurt.
The sun was just starting to rise, burning the remaining lurking daemons with its rays. Gladiolus was kind of glad that sun took out the pests as he didn’t feel like risking his life during training to fight them today. Usually he didn’t mind, but his mind just wasn’t there. As he climbed over the fence that separated the small outpost from the field, he squinted his eyes as he saw a flash of blue go off in the distance followed by the screams of a saberclaw. That was weird, he thought as he slowly trudged towards where the light came from. He was pretty sure he left everyone still asleep at the motel.
As he got closer, he noticed a female figure take shape before him. Soon, he was able to make out her appearance; her neck-length hair was pulled into a low ponytail as she adorned a simple white tank top and black leggings. Gladiolus already knew who it was but the armlet that adorned her right arm to symbolize her affiliation with Tenebrae gave it away the most.
“I thought princesses slept in to get their beauty sleep?” Gladiolus smirked as he approached her.
“Shit!” The woman jumped in fear as she whipped around to come face to face with the older man. “What the hell, Gladio, you scared me.”
“My bad, princess,” Gladiolus let out a hearty laugh only to stop as he examined Y/N’s face. The hair that escaped from her ponytail clung to her face from the beads of sweat present. Grabbing the edge of her tank, she wiped it off, flashing her bare stomach briefly. Gladiolus cleared his throat as he shifted his eyes elsewhere. “So, what brings you out here at the ass crack of dawn?”
“What’s it look like? I’m training,” She shrugged as she turned her attention back towards another saberclaw.
“Training involves more than just throwing daggers at some saberclaws,” Gladiolus chuckled. “How about I help you out-“
“I believe I’ve told you this before but I’m well trained thanks to my brother,” Y/N threw a glance over her shoulder at Gladiolus.
“The same brother who easily blocked your attack and pushed you down when we ran into him?” Gladiolus smirked as he saw the woman tense up briefly. “Or have you acquired a new brother since then?”
Lowering her daggers, Y/N turned around slowly while rolling her eyes at the older man. “Okay, Gladiolus, let’s train.”
Gladiolus’s already present smirk widened at her words. “My pleasure, princess.”
~!~
Your POV
“Put away your daggers. It’s not all about weapons,” Gladiolus said as he began to remove the black tank he wore. Your eyes widened as he revealed his muscular physique, taking notice of the tattoo that extended from one arm to another. On the left of his chest, the image of a squawking bird’s head connected to the rest of the tattoo. You gulped nervously before quickly shifting your eyes away from the man, face turning red in the process.
“What? Never seen a body quite as sexy as mine, before?” Gladiolus obnoxiously asked, causing you to snap your head back at him in annoyance. Avoiding looking at his body, you forced yourself to look him into his eyes.
“Are we gonna train or what?” You frowned at him. He let out a chuckle as he got into a battle stance, fists blocking his face.
“Of course. Try aiming for my face,” He said as he watch you get into your own stance. He nodded at you to go as you took off running towards him, preparing to aim for his stomach – abs – that would cause him to move his hands down there, leaving his face open. However, as you began to execute your punch, his arms immediately grabbed onto yours and twisted them around.
“Ow, what the hell?!” Your grimaced as he held tightly onto you.
“Too easy. Your eyes glanced at my stomach and I knew you would aim there first. The eyes will always be a dead giveaway to where the opponent will attack first,” He explained as he let go of your arms. Shaking the pain out of them, you regained your stance and frowned at him. “Try again.”
You and Gladiolus spent the next 30 minutes or so training – mostly you attempting to attack and Gladiolus immediately blocking it. It frustrated you at how easy it was for the prince’s shield to block your attacks that once worked on Ravus. After training with him for years, you were positive you could handle any attack given. Hell, it wasn’t even that long ago you took on a train of Imperials. What had happened since then? Had you somehow weakened? You couldn’t even fight off Ravus that time you guys met up with him just as Gladiolus had said. How were you going to get your revenge on the Empire and protect Lunafreya like this? Your mind wandered as you tried to land another surprise attack on Gladiolus by swinging your leg in the air to push him backwards with your foot. However, Gladiolus caught your foot before it made contact and pulled you towards him by it. Losing your balance immediately, you fell into the man’s sweaty chest just as he released your foot. His hands rested on your waist as he steadied you up.
“What’s on your mind?” Gladiolus asked as he looked down at you. “You’re not focused on this.”
“H-huh?” You blinked at him before shrugging his hands off you. “I’m not thinking about anything besides how to successfully kick your ass.”
“Well that’s not gonna happen if you’re not focused,” Gladiolus shrugged as he backed away from you and plopped himself on the ground. “What’s on your mind? I know I’m not Prompto but hopefully you can talk to me as well. We’re all friends here.”
You bit your bottom lip nervously as you stared at the man. He was nonchalantly looking towards the sky. He wasn’t going to pressure you into telling him what was wrong, but you knew if you didn’t, his feelings would be slightly hurt. You wanted to tell him, of course, but you couldn’t tell him everything. You could mention your worry about Lunafreya or how you just wanted to hurry up and be reunited with her. You could tell him about how her happiness meant the world to you and you wanted to see her smile brightly again as she once did when she was 12 – before the Empire attacked. You wanted to tell him how there was one person that you knew could make her happy like that again but… that person happened to be the same person who made you happy. Though you didn’t show it often, there was no denying he made your heart flutter and wish that it was you he loved and not your sister. That it was you who was meant to stand by his side. How Iris’s words from the previous night had been ringing in your ears since last night and that’s why you had been out training since the first rays of the sun had risen.
“You’re telling me you don’t feel anything when you’re with him?”
Of course, you felt something when you were with him. You always did. And that scared you. That’s why you pushed him and your feelings away. You couldn’t hurt Lunafreya again and knowing that you were… in love with him would kill her.
“I… I’m in love with him…” You finally said as you lowered your eyes away from Gladiolus and to the ground. “But… I can’t… have him…”
“Why not?” Gladiolus immediately said. “Cindy isn’t interested in Prompto, I can guarantee you that. You have a chance. Though, I’d have to say, never thought he’d be your type.”
You let out a low chuckle. You couldn’t tell if Gladiolus was being serious or not. “My life would be so much easier if my feelings were for Prompto…”
Silence fell between you two and the only thing that could be heard was the low howl of the wind and the feet of saberclaws running in the distance. Gladiolus stood up from the ground and made his way over to you. Placing a hand on your shoulder, you looked up at him with tears forming in your eyes.
“The prince, no, king makes the final call, right? About who he wants to be with? Don’t doubt yourself so much, kid. Noctis cares for you a lot more than you may think. As for your relationship with your sister… how do you expect to make Lady Lunafreya happy when you’re not happy yourself? She won’t be happy if you’re not. You’ve risked your life for your sister’s happiness. To me, that’s the most selfless act. Be selfish for once, Y/N,” Gladiolus squeezed your shoulder as a tear fell from your eye and onto his arm. He didn’t understand. He didn’t know the full story like Prompto did. You couldn’t have Noctis because of Lunafreya and because of your affiliation with Niflheim. He wouldn’t accept you. Your feelings for him would never be reciprocated, no matter how much Noctis cared for you. He was your brother-in-law. That was all.
“Hey, what are you guys doing?” The voice of Iris could be heard from the near distance. Gladiolus and you turned your heads towards the sound of her voice. Everyone was apparently awake and ready to hit the road as Ignis was signaling for you two to come over there. Prompto was on his phone while Iris was shouting at Gladiolus to put a shirt on and stop flirting with you. Your eyes landed on Noctis who’s arms were crossed. He seemed to be glaring at the scene in front of him, but he was too far away for you to see well.
Removing yourself from Gladiolus’s grip, you pushed away your previous emotions and waved back at Iris. “We’re coming!” Turning back to Gladiolus, you frowned slightly at him, “Thanks for this talk… but… I just… can’t hurt her like that.”
“Hmph,” was all Gladiolus said as he reached for his shirt to place over his head. He watched as you ran towards the group. As you neared Noctis, you must’ve said something to the prince because his body posture suddenly became stiff and his gloved hand went immediately to his face as if to hide something. You smiled gently at him before throwing an arm around Prompto’s neck, distracting him from his phone, and walking towards the Regalia. Noctis turned briefly to watch the scene before glancing back at Gladiolus who smirked at the prince. He didn’t seem to acknowledge it, however, as he began to follow the others to the car.
“He definitely loves her…”
~!~
“Are we there yet?” Prompto whined as the Regalia sped down the roads of Cleigne. You guys had been traveling for about two hours now with Cape Caem still nowhere in sight. Ignis said that everyone would know they were near when they began to see the vast ocean, however, no oceans had appeared as of yet.
“Prompto, if you ask that one more damn time,” Noctis grumbled under his breath.
The seating arrangement for the Regalia was more favorable for you today than it was yesterday. Gladiolus decided to sit in front with Ignis leaving Prompto to the back. Because Prompto was small in figure, everyone was able to fit in the backseat without having to sit on anyone’s lap. You were especially grateful for that. After last night with Iris and this morning with Gladiolus, you didn’t want to be too close to Noctis. Prompto picked up on this as he requested you sit closest to him in the back instead of Iris. Of course, Iris didn’t have a problem with this. Noctis threw you and Prompto glances every now and then whenever he would show you something on his phone or you’d use his bony shoulder as a pillow.
“We probably won’t make it again today…” Ignis said as he eyed the four of you in the back.
“Seriously? Why’d your dad pick such a faraway hideout, Noct?” Prompto complained.
“I don’t know, let me ask him,” Noctis frowned at the blond.
“Yikes, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed,” Prompto let out a nervous chuckle. Noctis ignored his comment and repositioned himself the best he could in the cramped backseat to sleep comfortably.
“You can sleep on me, Noctis!” Iris suddenly said as she sat up straight and patted her shoulder. Hearing this caused you to lift your head from Prompto’s shoulder and glance at the girl. Your eyes shifted to the front where Gladiolus sat, waiting for him to intervene at any given moment. However, the older man was fast asleep.
“Uh,” Noctis said uncomfortably as he also glanced to Gladiolus for help. Noticing he was asleep as well, he turned and his cerulean eyes met with your hazel ones. Your eyes widened slightly before you pretended to be still half-asleep and dropped your head to Iris’s shoulder that faced you.
“Ugh, Y/N! What are you doing?” Iris frowned as she tried to shrug you off her. However, you just pretended to be asleep and didn’t budge. You had to give it to the young girl, even though she seemed aware of the situation between Noctis, you and Lunafreya, she was still persistent on making him fall for her.
“Mh, you’re more comfortable than Prompto…” You mumbled quietly.
“Hey! Well sleep on her for the rest of the trip then!” Prompto frowned as he scooted closer to the door to create space between you two.
Iris turned her head in disbelief to Noctis who was smirking down at you. However, you didn’t notice as you pretended to be asleep. “Sorry, Iris. Looks like my sis-in-law got to you first. Thanks for the offer, though.”
“Sis-in-law my ass,” You heard Iris mumble under her breath. In response, you shoved your knee into the teenager’s leg, causing her to jump slightly.
The car was silent for awhile as mostly everyone had fallen asleep. The only ones who lay awake were Noctis – surprisingly – Iris, and Ignis, of course. Even you had tricked your brain into falling asleep after all the pretending. However, you could still hear everything that was going on.
“So Noct,” Iris spoke up. Noctis, who was on his phone playing King’s Knight, arched his brow to acknowledge her. “What does she look like? Lady Lunafreya, that is.”
“H-huh?” Noctis stuttered from Iris’s sudden question. The teen only blinked her brown eyes at him as she waited for a response. “Uh… well, I haven’t seen her since I was 8. She had medium-ish blonde hair with bangs? And icy blue eyes? She was taller than me and uh, she was thin?”
“So, you don’t know what she looks like now?”
“No idea… but I’ll know it’s her when I see her. Besides, I’m sure Y/N will point her out to me,” Noctis chuckled slightly as his eyes landed on you.
“What did Y/N look like when she was younger?”
“Y-Y/N?”
“Yeah! Was she always beautiful? You can say if she was or not. She’s like dead asleep,” Iris laughed. She knew you weren’t fully asleep because after asking her question about Lunafreya, you pushed your knee into her leg again.
“Uh,” Noctis glanced at you again to make sure you were asleep. “She was… always beautiful. Her hair was longer when she was younger. It went to the middle of her back but because she was a princess, she kept it in some fancy bun with braids around it. She was much shorter than Luna and probably an inch shorter than me. She’s been short her whole life,” Noctis laughed as he said this. “She didn’t talk to me a lot when I was in Tenebrae but when she did, I remember it making me really happy, even if she was sort of rude.”
“… Why are you not marrying Y-“
“Wake up, everyone! We’ve come near the ocean!” Ignis suddenly said, cutting off Iris. Everyone who was asleep groggily woke up, but their eyes widened when they saw the view of the ocean.
“Whoa! This is beautiful!” Prompto exclaimed as he quickly focused his camera on the ocean before him. The sun was setting, and the orange hue reflected off the calm waters. “Y/N, do you see this?”
You just nodded as you focused on the blue waters. They reminded you of Noctis’s own breathtaking blue eyes. Your cheeks colored themselves in a pink tint as the thought crossed your mind. However, you weren’t just blushing from your thoughts. You were also blushing from what Noctis had said to Iris about you.
“We’re gonna camp near the beach tonight. Is everyone okay with that? The sun is setting and I don’t want to put Ms. Iris in danger,” Ignis said as he pulled the Regalia to the side of a bridge.
“Fine with me. I need to stretch, anyway,” Gladiolus said as he immediately hopped out the car. “The tent isn’t gonna fit all of us, so I volunteer to sleep outside so Iris can get the tent.”
“It’s fine, Gladdy. I can sleep outside,” Iris offered as she exited the backseat of the car.
“No, it’s dangerous. It may be a haven, but I don’t trust it 100 percent.”
“I’ll sleep outside,” Noctis shrugged. “The tent is a cramped when it’s all of in there, anyway.”
“Well, I’m not going to argue with you. I’m gonna go ahead and set up camp,” Gladiolus said as he removed the items he needed from the trunk of the car and made his ways to the stairs attached to the bridge.
“I’m so excited! My first camping trip with you guys!” Iris grinned at you and Noctis.
“It’s not all that it’s cracked up to be,” You mumbled as you pushed past her and began to follow the others who had already started walking. Shrugging, Iris ran to catch up with you as Noctis strolled lazily behind.

Aranea’s POV
“Were you able to recruit her?” The smooth voice of Ardyn filled the woman’s ears. She rolled her eyes as she leaned against one of the rails overlooking the city of Altissia. Pushing herself off it, she casually strolled past Ardyn and several of the imperial soldiers behind him.
“Is she here now?” Aranea sarcastically asked as she pretended to look around the area for Y/N. “Because I don’t see her anywhere.”
“We don’t pay you to fail missions-“
“Ha!” Aranea let out a loud, breathy laugh. “Pay me? You guys barely pay me. I go out of my way for the Empire only to barely afford to feed myself half the time. I don’t do this for the money, buddy. I do this to serve my country.”
“Buddy is no way to refer to your chancellor,” Caligo suddenly spoke up. At the sound of his voice, Aranea whipped her head to the short, pudgy man and gave him an incredulous look.
“I don’t think you have the right to speak to me since you’ve been demoted. Y/N almost ended you and you barely escaped,” Aranea hissed. “If I were her, I would’ve finished you off whether the prince intervened or not.”
“You bit-“
“Alright, alright, settle down. You both failed your missions, however, you both have the opportunity to regain yourselves-“
“I’m really not up for kicking their asses again, “Aranea groaned. “She’s not going to join us, anyway. She’s too much in love with her prince to betray him now. Anyone with eyes can tell she loves him. They came into the arena holding hands.”
“She really is a traitor. How could she love a Lucian – more specifically – the prin-“
“Shut up, Caligo,” Ardyn said sharply, causing the man to stiffen. A smirk played on Ardyn’s face as Aranea’s information registered in his mind. “So… both of the Nox Fleuret sisters are in love with the prince, huh? This could… actually work.”
“What are you planning, Ardyn?” Aranea arched a brow as the red-haired man began to pace back and forth.
“Do you happen to know which sister the prince has feelings for?” Ardyn asked, ignoring Aranea’s question.
“The one he was supposed to marry, I suppose, but he and Y/N have chemistry… why?”
“It’d be a shame if… one of them just… died in an attack or something…”
“Why do you want to kill the sisters? What have they done to you? I agreed to recruit Y/N and fuck around with the prince’s head a for a bit, not kill anyone,” Aranea immediately said.
“This could work in my favor…” Ardyn smirked to himself as a new set of plans began to roam his mind. Noticing Aranea and Caligo were still staring at him in a confused way, he replaced his smirk with a grin and snapped his fingers. “New plan! Aranea, you and I will be headed back to Lucis to assist the prince with the next royal arm he has to receive.”
“I said I’m not-“
“We’re not fighting them. We’re assisting them. Redeem yourself with the prince and his entourage.”
“And what about me?” Caligo spoke up. Ardyn turned his head over his shoulder and threw a smirk at him.
“You stay here and train. I have a feeling… a world-changing even will be going down soon. You need to prepare yourself, Caligo. And as for you…” Ardyn looked towards a soldier who stood upright, shotgun pressed tightly into their chest. “Step forward.”
“Sir!” The soldier immediately responded as he took a step forward. Aranea arched her brow again as the soldier’s voice rang through her ears. She’s heard that voice before. It was stern and emotionless. It’s been a while since she’s heard it since she’d moved up in the ranks, so she couldn’t quite put her finger on who the voice belonged to.
“Are you ready to meet your daughter again?” Ardyn smirked at the soldier. Aranea’s eyes immediately widened at Ardyn’s words. This soldier was…
“Maybe you’d be able to convince Y/N that she should be assisting us. You are her father after all. Do whatever you deem as necessary,” Ardyn’s eyes darkened as the man nodded his head in confirmation and returned to his spot beside the other Imperials.
“What… is he planning?” Aranea quietly asked herself as she stared in shock at the man known as Y/N’s dad. Whatever Ardyn had up his sleeve, she knew it meant danger for the prince, the oracle, and Y/N. She had to find a way to let them know or even stop it before it was too late.
“Okay, so when do we leave for Lucis?” Aranea asked.
Ardyn just threw another smirk at her. “Tonight. We must prepare the temple, after all!”
~!~
Your POV
You lay awake in the tent, staring into the darkness that surrounded you as the others slept. The flames from the still burning fire pranced its shadows on the tent’s walls from the outside. Dinner was hours ago as it was about 2 in the morning. Noctis was sleeping outside so you guessed he kept awakening to add more wood to keep the fire alive. Though it was the middle summer, the beach that you guys camped on was a bit chilly without the sun’s warmth around. Even inside the tent, you were shivering from the cold. Prompto and Iris slept the closest to you while Gladiolus and Ignis occupied the other corner of the tent. You worried about Noctis who was outside alone. Though he claimed he wanted to sleep outside, you couldn’t help but think he felt a bit lonely. As far as you know, ever since the boys started traveling together, no one was left to sleep alone. You decided that you should check up on him. Besides, if he was awake, which you doubted, you wanted to ask him about what he meant by his words from the previous night – that he could never hate. It’s been nagging you in the back of your mind since he said it, but you didn’t want to make the situation awkward between you both with the others noticing. Maybe it didn’t mean anything. Maybe he just really cared for you as Gladiolus said. Maybe…
You quietly got up from your spot, careful not to wake up the others, and made your way out of the tent. To your surprise, Noctis was sitting in his chair, a blanket draped over his shoulders, staring at the fire before him. Quietly, you walked towards the prince. He must’ve heard the crunching sand underneath your feet as he whipped his head in your direction. A blush creeped up your face from being caught as you shyly waved at him before continuing to walk towards him.
“Are you okay?” Noctis asked as you neared him. You just nodded your head as you plopped down in the chair beside him. A small shiver coursed through your body as the heat from the fire and the coolness from the night air collided with one another. “Do you want to use my blanket?”
“I’m fine, thanks…” You said as you avoided his eyes that were staring at you. “So, uh, why aren’t you asleep?”
“I could ask you the same,” He smirked at you. It only lasted a second, however, as it fell. “Just… thinking about everything that’s happened lately… and how close we are to seeing-“
“Lunafreya?” You cut him off, already knowing that was the name he was about to say. He just nodded at you while your heart sunk slowly in your chest. “I’m… looking forward to seeing her, too. I just want to hold her in my arms and apologize for ever leaving her…”
Noctis’s eyes widened at your words. “Oh yeah, why did you come to Insomnia? Was it to see me?”
Noctis playfully smirked at you as he awaited your answer but was only surprised when you nodded your head in agreement. “It was my birthday… and I just wanted to see Lunafreya happy again, like she always was whenever you sent her those messages in the notebook. She would read your messages repeatedly just to feel connected to you somehow. At night, she’d sometimes cry… I didn’t know why until I overheard her talking to Gentiana about her life being unfair… how she wished she wasn’t an oracle and how she could just love and be with you. But those… assholes… the Gods, they took that all away from her. So, to reunite you guys, I went to Insomnia to find a way to tell you all this in hopes you would’ve come back with me. Now that I think about it, it wouldn’t have worked. Tenebrae is filled with Imperials ready to attack your family… I was really stupid…”
“You’re not stupid for wanting your sister to be happy…” Noctis said softly. “I want Luna to be happy as well.”
“She’ll be happy once you two are together. Maybe you can finally plan this wedding that’s been delayed which feels like for centuries,” You let out a forced laugh at your words. Noctis didn’t laugh, however, as he slightly frowned at you.
“I think… Luna will be happier once she sees you and knows with her own eyes that you’re safe. She really loves and cherishes you, you know?” Noctis said. “I promised not to tell you this but, when we were kids, she was really sad when you wouldn’t play with us…”
“Luna why are you sad?” An 8-year-old Noctis watched worriedly as the 12-year-old girl shed tears on the drawing before her. She was fine just a few seconds ago so Noctis didn’t understand why the girl was suddenly crying. The girl often looked distant whenever Noctis and her would play together, but she’d quickly cover it up with a smile.
“I-“ She sniffed, “I miss my sister. Why won’t she play with us as well? Did I do something? I ask her, and she tells me no and goes to play with our brother. Why doesn’t she like me anymore?”
Noctis’s eyes lowered as he listened to Luna’s words. He knew that it wasn’t Luna that Y/N didn’t want to play with – it was him. The boy didn’t understand why Y/N didn’t like him. However, that shouldn’t stop her from playing with her sister. The day he met the Nox Fleuret sisters, he knew that Y/N really looked up and loved Luna. He felt bad for getting in the way of that relationship.
Sighing, Noctis rolled his wheelchair over to Luna and placed a comforting hand on top of hers. “I’m sorry… Y/N doesn’t like me... so maybe she doesn’t want to play with you because of me. I can go hang with my dad if that’ll make her play with you…”
Luna let out a chuckle as she placed her other hand over Noctis’s and blinked her tears away. “There’s no need for that. I’ll be okay. I’m sure she likes you, so don’t worry, okay? Also, Noctis…”
“Hm?” The boy widened his eyes at the older girl.
“Promise not to tell Y/N I cried over her, okay? I know she isn’t doing this on purpose and it’ll probably break her to know that she upset me.”
Noctis immediately grinned at the girl. “It’s a promise!”
“She cried… because of me?” You blinked at the prince before you.
“Don’t tell her I told you – hey, Y/N, what’s wrong?” Noctis looked at you as tears ran down your face. You stared off distantly at the ocean and the moonlight that reflected off it. You’ve hurt Lunafreya before to the point that she cried? How many other times have you hurt your sister? How many times have you betrayed her? Even with being careful of every move you make and going out of your way to bring happiness to your sister, you still hurt her. You bit down on your bottom lip hard enough to break its skin and taste blood as your thoughts continued to run wild.
“Hey,” Noctis’s voice broke you from your thoughts as he was now crouched down in front of you, both of his hands caressing your own. More tears fell down your face as you looked at him. Without a second thought, his thumb came to your face and brushed away your tears. The mere touch caused another shiver to run through you. “We were kids… it’s not that big of deal, right? You know you love Luna. Luna knows you love her and would never purposefully hurt her and-“
You stared at Noctis as he tried to calm you. He was always trying to calm you and trying to get you to open up to him – even as kids. The night at the hotel in Lestallum where you got him to admit to you his true emotions about his father. Originally, he wanted you to open up to him, but you managed to flip the script. Then the other times he’s come to comfort you or even save your life. The time where he stopped you from killing Ravus and even the other night from that Imperial commander. Noctis was always there reassuring you and making sure you were okay. And… each time, you fell deeper for him. Deeper in love with the man that was meant for your sister. In love with the man that would hurt Lunafreya for life if she found out you held the same feelings for the man she confessed to you she loved so many years ago.
“Are you listening to me, Y/N?” Noctis looked into your hazel eyes, causing your heart to stop as you locked your eyes with his. Love. That’s what you saw in his worried eyes as they searched your watery ones. Love. It was what Iris, Prompto, Gladiolus, and even Ignis had been hinting at all along. Noctis loved you. At this realization, your eyes filled with tears as you abruptly stood up and attempted to walk away from the campsite. However, Noctis was faster and grabbed onto your hand and pulled you into him. Your eyes widened as he held onto you for a while. “Do you know how to dance?”
“H-huh?” You hiccupped, taken aback by his sudden question. Here you were crying about your situation and he wanted to dance?
“Princesses know how to dance, right?” He asked as he pulled himself away from you slightly. You watched as Noctis grabbed your hand and placed it on his shoulder while he took the other in his own hand. He then gently placed his free hand on your waist and looked back at you with gently smile. Meanwhile you blinked confusedly at him. “As a prince, I kinda had no choice but to learn. I hate it, but I’ve been told it helps people temporarily forget their problems.”
“I-I,” Your face was red, you knew it. Hopefully, he would think it was from your crying. “I know… the basics.”
“Okay, I’ll lead,” Noctis said as he began to sway you around. You hadn’t danced ballroom style in so long. Your eyes kept glancing towards your feet to make sure you didn’t step on his as he twirled you around the fireplace. “Try not to look at your feet so much…”
You nodded as you looked up at him. He grinned at you as he spun you around, causing a small laugh to escape from you. This was a side you haven’t seen of Noctis before. Did Lunafreya know about this charming side to the prince? Did he ever tell Lunafreya that he wanted to dance with her in front of a fireplace that overlooked the ocean? That he wanted to spin her around until she got dizzy and tripped over her own feet with him catching her each time? How he’d stare lovingly at her as the moonlight reflected in her glassy blue eyes that had a few moments ago been crying? Did Lunafreya know this side of Noctis? You wanted to think she didn’t… that he was only this way with you. The shy, distant prince that people came to know disappeared into a gentle, caring one when he was comfortable with those around him.
“Why… can’t you hate me…?” You muttered as you two continued to dance around the fire. However, at your words, Noctis halted his movement and looked down at you, tilting his head slightly in confusion.
“Huh?”
“Why can’t you hate me?” You asked a bit louder this time, so he could hear. “Even if I did something horrible… or was a part of something horrible. If I were the cause for all the trouble in your and Lunafreya’s life…wouldn’t you hate me?”
“Does Lunafreya know about this horrible thing?” You nodded as Noctis chuckled. “Then if she doesn’t hate you… then why would I? I literally cannot hate you, Y/N. I will never hate you.”
At his words, you broke your hand away from his and wrapped your arms around his waist, taking him by surprise, as you buried your face in his chest. He smelled similar to how he did the day you met him again in Hammerhead. His musky cologne applied from earlier today mixed in with the smell of nature. “Why…”
“Huh?” He said as he still stood frozen.
“Why can’t you be mine?”
Your eyes widened at your words as you realized what you had just said. Immediately, you tried to pull yourself away from the prince, but was prevented from doing so when he wrapped his arms around you. Your heart was pounding so loudly you could practically hear them in your ears. Maybe he didn’t hear you? Maybe he was just returning your hug? Maybe he-
“Y/N, can I kiss you?”
You pulled yourself away from him at those words and stared up at him. His face was red as he avoided your eye contact. “I-I’m sorry. Forget I asked. I’m-“
~!~
Noctis’s POV
Why did he ask her that? She was clearly upset about hurting her sister. Her sister that was clearly in love with him. And here he was asking could he kiss her. But, he couldn’t help it. Her questioning why he couldn’t be hers? He didn’t want anything but to be hers. And to hear the woman he was in love with indirectly tell him she felt the same, how else was he supposed to react? Maybe not asking her to kiss him, however. Noctis wanted to crawl into a hole. When did he even become this bold? He was trying to cheer up the crying woman, not make her uncomfortable. She stared at him for a while as he tried to stumble out an apology.
“I’m sorry-“
“I’m sorry…” Y/N said which gave Noctis his answer. He blushed in embarrassment as he slowly dropped his arms from the woman. He knew he messed up. Ugh, how was he going to come back from this now. “Lunafreya, please forgive me…”
Noctis looked down at the former princess in confusion as she looked up at Noctis and nodded her head at him. “You can kiss me…”
Noctis let out a shaky breath as a small smile became present on his lips. Carefully, he cupped Y/N’s face and brought his face down to hers. His eyes flicked up to her already closed ones. He chuckled as he saw her awaiting his kiss. Gently, he placed his lips onto hers. At first, she didn’t react to it however, he was reassured she didn’t regret her decision when her arms snaked around his neck to bring him closer to her. He obliged as he moved his hands from her face and to her waist, deepening the kiss in the process. Was he really kissing Y/N? The woman he had been in love with for so long? It was like a dream come true.
And just like dreams, the moment abruptly as she pulled away and looked at him in horror.
“I-I’m sorry…” She said as she gazed at him for a moment for disappearing back into the tent. Noctis stood there in shock as his lips still tingled from her soft ones being on his. He glanced towards the tent where she disappeared to and let a small smile dance upon his lips.
“I’ve always been yours… Y/N…”

Part 1 Part 11
I was sitting in my week old bedroom once again filling out applications on my laptop. Ruby mentioned buying the dinner anytime she thought she could. I gave her the same answer over and over. That I would think about it. My life was so mixed up at the moment I didn’t even know what I wanted to do anymore. The only thing that seemed normal was Dean and he wasn’t something I should thing is normal.
I was pulled from my task my phone ringing. I answered the unknown number placing my phone between my ear and shoulder.
“Hello?” I ask not expecting an answer or exception some robot trying to sell me something.
“Scarlet? Is that you?” Asks a raspy voice I barely recognized.
“Rebecca?” I ask holding my phone with my hand.
“Yeah, it’s me.” She says letting out a horse chuckle.
“I didn’t expect to hear from you. How are you?”
“Aggravated, they keep sending me to some wack job therapy and I just want out of here.”
“I’m sorry but-.”
“Why did you put me in here?” She asks not hiding the anger in her voice.
“Because you were becoming dangerous.”
“I didn’t do anything.”
“You attacked both me and then Dean.” I say calmly not wanting to set her off.
“He-.. He’s going to leave me.” She says solemnly.
“He told you that?” I ask my heart skipping the email on his phone coming to my mind.
“He asked for a brake.”
“Do you blame him?” I say before I can stop myself.
“You think this is my fault?”
“I didn’t-.”
“You know what I don’t even know why I called you never listen to me anyway.”
“Becca I-.” I was cut off by her hanging up it making me eyes glaze over.
I sit there still holding the phone as the conversation plays over my head. Her asking me why I put her there stabbing a little deeper each time.
“What did I do?” I ask the phone once again ringing.
“Rebecca?” I ask quickly not even looking at it.
“Rebecca? You talked to her?” Dean’s voice fills my ear.
“Yeah, she just called.” I say pinching my nose and closing my eyes feeling a headache come on.
“Huh”
“She didn’t call you?”
“No.”
“Your better off shes mad.”
“She’s getting that crap out of her.”
“I know.” I say leaning back on the headboard.
“You don’t sound happy.”
“I’m not. I just feel guilty.”
“Well don’t she was gonna kill herself if we didn’t do that.”
“I did it.”
“On paper you did it. I agreed to it as well.”
“I guess.” I say shrugging even though he couldn’t see it.
“Where are you?”
“Home.”
“Ruby there?”
“I don’t think so. Why?”
“I’m on my way.” He says making my stomach flutter.
I roll my eyes that I get butterflies over him like a teenager.
“Okay see you in a bit.”
“Bye darling.”
“Bye.” I say hanging up and throwing my phone on the bed.
Taking a breath I look up at the ceiling.
“If you got any advice up there I would love to hear it.” I say out loud.
Letting out a groan I run my fingers threw my messy bun and decide to get up. Leaving my bed a mess I grab a change of clothes and head to the bathroom.
Fresh from the shower I got dressed in a flannel dress and mini leather jacket. Putting on some flats I gave myself a winged eye and some red lips. Looking at myself I looked and felt a bit better.
I was in the kitchen when a knock came through the door.
“It’s open!” I yell pulling a coffee cup from the cabinet.
“You just leave your doors unlocked?” Dean asks walking into the house.
“Only when I know someone is on there way to see me.” I say smiling at him the air seeming lighter around him.
“Well who has been coming to see you? No one I need to worry about I hope?” He asks pulling off his jacket.
“That’s not jealousy I hear is it?” I tease leaning on the counter to face him. He gives me a side eye then quickly moves towards me.
“If it is?” He asks placing his hands on either side me, blocking me in.
Unable to stop the giggle I stand on my toes and press my lips to his. The need to be close to him over powering our banter.
His hands go to my waist as he kisses me back. I slip my fingers in his hair and relax into him. He breaks away first, him stroking my cheek as he straightens up. I smile and lean into his touch closing my eyes.
“You seem tired.” He says surprising me.
I open my eyes and shrug. Taking his hand off my face I kiss his palm (aware of the lip print I leave there) and turn back around to the now finished coffee.
“That’s what caffeine is for.” I say pouring a cup.
“Want one?” I ask him holding out the cup of black coffee.
“Sure, thanks.” He says taking it and moving away from me to sit at the island.
I pour my own cup and fixing it the way I like and joining him.
“So what brings you here?”
“I need a reason to see you?” He jokes smiling.
“No.” I say blushing smiling as well.
“I’m just wondering.”
“I got a call today.”
“Oh?”
“This weekend is my family’s reunion. My dad called to remind me.”
“Oh that’s awesome. I hope you have fun.” I say taking a drink but smiling at him over my cup.
“That’s the thing I don’t know if I will. Me and Sam hasn't been in years.”
“Why not?”
“For Sam I don’t know but me my dad got remarried when I was 15. He apparently been seeing her for awhile even had a kid neither me or Sam knew about.”
“Wow, that must have been awkward.”
“I hated it. My dad never really talked about mom after she died and then- I think I just felt like he didn’t love her anymore.”
“That’s understandable.” I say holding my head up with my fist.
“I got into some trouble and got sent of to a boys home for a little while. And after that stayed with Bobby.”
I giggle softly that not shocking me any.
“So it’s been awhile since you've been home?”
“Christmas before me and Rebecca got married.”
“Oh dang.” I say it almost being five years.
“Yeah…”
“Why didn’t you take Rebecca to see them? I mean your Dad came to your wedding?”
“She thought it would be to much drama with how I left things.”
“What happened?”
“Got drunk, got into a fight.”
“You, drunk and fighting never.” I say earning a glare.
“Sorry, I’ll be serious. Who cares if you got into a fight, it’s your family. Is Sam going?”
“I think so.”
“You don’t want to?”
“I guess.” He says looking into his mug.
“Hey, you don’t have to go.” I say placing my hand on his back rubbing gently.
“I want you to go with me.”
“Me?”
“My Dad’s got cancer…”
“Oh my gosh Dean, I’m so sorry.”
“Don’t be.” He says sighing.
Leaning over I hug him tightly.
“I would love to go.”
Pulling away from me he looks me over.
“Really? You don’t-.”
“Do you want me to go?”
“Yes?”
“Then I’ll go.” I say shrugging lifting my cup to my lips.
“I mean what’s the worst thing that could happen?”
“Great, just one other thing. They don’t know about Rebecca.”
“You didn’t tell your dad?”
“No. He don’t need to know, no point in adding more stress to him.”
“So you want me to pretend to be Rebecca?”
“No! I want you to be you.”
“I’m not your wife?” I ask my head starting to hurt as I think about what he is asking.
“Won’t people ask questions?”
“We won’t tell them it’s none of their damn business anyway. I want to go see my old man, to hell with everyone else. I just-.” He cuts himself off clenching his jaw.
I let out a sigh knowing I’m going to regret this, but I reach over and grab his hand off his leg.
“When do we leave?” I ask watching his eyes light up with that boyish grin he gives me.
I placed the suitcase in the truck of the impala, done talking myself into going.
“Ready?” Dean asks placing my last bag inside.
We were only going to be there three days but me being me I packed enough for a week.
“As I’ll ever be.” I say smiling at him.
He smiles at me leaning down to brush his lips over mine. We pull apart when a click is heard.
I look to my left seeing Ruby standing there phone in hand.
“Did you just take a picture?” I ask her confused but not surprised.
“You two are so damn cute I couldn’t resist any longer!” She says grinning.
“She’s crazy.” Dean whispers in my ear making me nod.
“Okay well we are leaving now. See you and Sam later tonight?” I ask her, her and Sam riding down after he left work.
“Yep you two be careful.” She says pulling me into a hug.
“Bye Ruby.” I say hugging her back.
“Bye bye.” She says pulling away from me her smacking Dean’s stomach.
“Be nice to her.” She says him looking at me as if to ask me if this was normal.
“Okay bye now.” I say walking around the car.
“See ya Ruby.” He says closing the trunk and joining me in the car.
Him not talking until we was at the stop sign at the end of the street.
“What was that about?” He asks me.
“Don’t have a clue.”
We spent the drive the few hours of the drive uneventful. It filled with mindless chit chat I even dozed off on Dean’s shoulder at one point.
When we pulled in front of a two story home and Dean parked in front of it I knew we were here.
“You ready?” I ask turning to look at Dean him gripping the steering wheel, his knuckles white.
“Hey what’s wrong?” I ask him touching his arm, it tense.
“I swear to myself I wouldn’t come back here.” He says his voice deep, worry lines digging into his forehead.
“I thought you wanted to be here?”
“There is something I didn’t tell you.”
“What’s that?” I ask rubbing his arm comforting him I hope.
“The person I got into a fight with was my half brother Adam. I shouldn’t have done it he was younger then me.”
“Sam is younger than you and last I checked you have thrown a few punches his way.”
“It’s different.”
“How?”
He didn’t have to answer someone knocking on my window. I turn to see a hazel eyed man with dark hair and a salt and peppered beard. He smiles at me, making me think of an older version of Dean. There was no doubt that this was his father.
I smile back and roll down the window the fall misty air coming into the heat of the car.
“You two gonna come in or stay out here all day?” He asks smiling.
“Sorry we were just talking. Hi I’m-.”
“Scarlet, you are Rebecca’s sister. I remember you from the wedding.”
“Right nice to meet you again.” I say holding out my hand.
He shakes it then opens my door for me.
“Well you two come on in before you get rained on.” He says smiling. It making me wonder if that was were Dean got it from.
I was meant to be looking at a man with cancer who was dying but he seemed just as happy as could be.
I hear the car door behind me open and close Dean coming around to stand next to me.
“It’s a shame Rebecca couldn’t make it.”
“Yeah, work keeps her busy.” Dean says.
Out of the corner of my eye I watch his hand twitch towards mine but he quickly puts it in his pocket.
“We’ll be in in a minute.”
“Alright I know when I’m not wanted.” John says chuckling and turning back to walk towards the house.
“You okay?” I ask looking up at Dean.
“Ask me after this is over.”
I smile and poke his side.
“Cheer up and enjoy the weekend.”
“Yes ma’am.”
Smiling I turn back towards the house.
“Things are about to get awkward.”
Dean chuckles beside me.
“Let’s do this.”

The Good Life: Chapter 5
The bell to the lift chimed as the metal doors slowly slid open, signaling that they had reached their desired floor, and Finn stepped aside to allow Rae to walk out first.
“I still can’t believe that we’re on the fifth floor of the building!” Rae mused as she looked over the railing outside of the lift that overlooked one of the busy city streets.
“It’s a good thing neither of us are scared of heights, huh?” Finn joked as he adjusted his grip on the large box he was carrying in his arms.
Finn and Rae turned left after exiting the hallway with the lift, already becoming familiar with navigating the building after following the same path numerous times.
When Finn stopped in front of one of the doors, he turned to look at Rae, who was lagging behind slightly as she walked leisurely to take in the view from the top floor of the building.
“Do you have the keys, Finn, or do I?”
“I do, but I can’t get to them with this box,” Finn replied.
“Do ya want me to take the box from you?”
“No, it’s pretty heavy,” Finn replied with a slight grunt as he adjusted his grip on the box to prove his point, “but can you get the keys out of my pocket?”
“Er, sure...which pocket?”
“Back left pocket of my jeans,” Finn said as he angled his body towards her so she could easily reach his pocket.
“Alright,” Rae replied as she hesitantly reached her hand into the pocket of Finn’s jeans to grab the set of keys.
“Uh, sorry,” Finn replied sheepishly when Rae pulled the keys out of his pocket and it elicited an unexpected giggle from him, “that tickled more than I expected.”
Rae laughed and shook her head, but stepped in front of Finn to unlock the door and allow him to walk inside first.
Once inside the door, Finn walked into the large open space that would eventually resemble a living room and placed the box he was carrying beside the other tall stacks of boxes.
“Was that the last box?” Finn asked over his shoulder as he restacked some of the boxes to reduce some of the clutter.
“Indeed! Who knew that between the two of us, we’d have so much stuff?” Rae asked with a laugh as she looked around the room at dozens of cardboard boxes that had been piled haphazardly around the room.
“I don’t know about you, but I’m very proud of how efficient we were today. We got all your stuff and my stuff packed into the moving truck and got it all brought up to the apartment all in a matter of hours!”
“That’s pretty impressive! We make a good team, huh?” Rae asked as she walked to stand beside Finn and bumped his hip with hers playfully.
“We absolutely do,” Finn replied as he wrapped an arm around Rae’s shoulders and pulled her slightly closer, “I think we deserve to reward our hard work. We should order some takeaway since we have no food here yet and then after we’ve eaten if we feel up to it, we can start unpacking boxes. What do you think about that?”
“I think it’s a great idea. I’ll order and you can go pick it up, if that’s alright with you? What do you want to eat?”
“Of course! I don’t have a preference, I’m just starving and would like a lot of food,” Finn added with a smile as he walked away.
Rae called in their takeaway order while Finn reorganized the boxes against the perimeter of the room to ensure that they had a clear path to walk around without tripping.
“Alright, our order should be ready in less than half an hour. I ordered from the Chinese restaurant just down the street because their online reviews looked really good. I hope that’s alright with you.”
“It’s great, thank you. I’ll leave to go pick it up as soon as I find my keys again,” Finn replied with a nervous chuckle.
“Your keys are on the kitchen counter,” Rae replied with a fond smile at Finn’s forgetfulness, “Do you want me to try to find some plates and utensils in one of these boxes while you’re gone?”
“Yeah, that’d be great!”
Once Finn grabbed his keys, wallet, and phone off of the counter where he had left them, he left to go pick up their takeaway order.
Rae searched through the stacks of boxes trying to find whatever she thought Finn and she would need to eat their takeaway and before long she heard the door unlock and Finn walking through the door.
“Sorry if I took longer than you expected. I, uh, wanted to--what is this?”
Rae beamed with pride at the look of surprise on Finn’s face when he walked into the living room to see a small lamp on top of a short stack of boxes to subtly light the room as well as a pile of pillows and blankets strategically arranged to make the floor more comfortable to sit on, since the couch they had bought online wouldn’t be delivered until next weekend.
“I was looking for the boxes with dishes in them and I got a little carried away,” Rae replied with a shrug as she walked up to take the bags of food from Finn.
“Well it looks great! I thought it seemed appropriate that we mark the occasion today with a drink,” Finn replied as he pulled a pack of beer from one of the bags Rae had placed on the kitchen counter, “so I picked this up too. I know it’s not champagne or anything fancy, but...”
“Don’t worry about it. Champagne is disgusting anyways,” Rae replied with a chuckle as she continued unpacking the bags of takeaway containers onto the counter.
“We can go ahead and serve ourselves food and then I also have my laptop here if you wanted to watch something or listen to music while we eat.”
“I don’t feel like paying close attention to anything, so maybe we can just put on some music?” Rae suggested.
After they had served themselves plates full of various entrees, noodles, and sautéed vegetables, Rae sat down on the pile of pillows and blankets as Finn grabbed his laptop to put on one of his many playlists to listen to in the background.
“It’s crazy to think how quickly everything has moved. I mean, less than a month ago I was panicking about how I was going to find a roommate and a little over a week ago we were barely starting to tour potential apartment!” Rae mused as she ate.
“No kidding! If you’d told me over a month ago that I would have moved out of my Da’s house and be living with you, I wouldn’t ever believe it,”
“Oh wow! Thanks, Finn!” Rae scoffed.
“That’s not what I meant! I just meant that I wasn’t serious about moving out until I found out how badly you needed to find a roommate. Even when I first suggested it, it was just a spur of the moment kind of thing. I couldn’t even fathom why you had agreed to be my roommate, if I’m being honest.”
“Well I’m glad that this whole thing worked out as well as it has so far!”
“Me too, Rae!” Finn replied as he lifted his can of beer into the air in cheers.
The pair continued eating and talking until both were completely stuffed and pleasantly buzzed on cheap beer.
“Wow,” Rae began after a long yawn, “I’m so exhausted!”
“I know what you mean! After lifting all those boxes, I’m sure both our arms are gonna be sore tomorrow.”
Rae leaned over to place both of their now-empty plates on top of one of the nearby boxes. When she sat back, Rae angled her body so she was leaning into Finn’s side.
She looked over at him, silently asking if that was okay, and while he looked a bit surprised, he didn’t hesitate to wrap his arm around her in a loose embrace.
“I don’t want to unpack boxes tonight. I have the day off of work tomorrow as well, so I’ll unpack tomorrow while you’re at work.”
“I can’t let you unpack everything alone! I’ll play hooky from work and stay here to unpack with you,” Finn replied.
“You don’t have to!”
“No, but I want to.”
“Alright,” Rae replied with a small smile as she allowed her eyes to slowly drift shut as they continued talking and listening to music.
When Finn stood from the ground and grabbed the dirty dishes to wash, he looked back to see Rae curled up on the pile of blankets, scrolling through her phone.
“Did you want another beer before I put them in the fridge?” Finn asked from the kitchen after he had finished washing their dishes and setting them aside to dry.
When he did not get a response, Finn walked out into the living room and was surprised to see Rae asleep on the pile of blankets, snoring lightly.
Finn chuckled quietly, walking back into the kitchen only long enough to turn off the light and returned to the living room.
Finn grabbed Rae’s phone from beside her face where she was laying down and set it on the box closest to her so she could easily find it in the morning.
With all of their larger furniture being delivered over the next week, Finn and Rae had already determined that they would be sleeping on the floor for the foreseeable future, so Finn simply unfolded one of the blankets that Rae was not laying on top of and covered her up with it. Finn considered his options for just a moment before shrugging and laying down on the pile of blankets and pillows in the space beside Rae and allowed the dizzying combination of exertion and excitement to lull him into a state of much needed sleep.
A/N: Yay! Move-in day is over and Finn and Rae are OFFICIALLY roommates! I know this point took a while to build up to, so I made a point to make this chapter extra cute and show how quickly Rae and Finn are getting used to the idea of living together and how adorably domestic these two idiots are even though they’ve only lived together less than a day.
The cuteness has only just begun and even just based on the chapters that I’ve already written or mapped out, there is a lot of fun shenanigans in the upcoming chapters. I know the last couple chapters have been super dialogue-heavy between Rae and Finn (idk how y’all feel about this...I LOVE to read/write dialogue-heavy stuff, but it may not be everyone’s cup of tea), but in the future chapters I’m bringing the gang back and we’ll get to see how the gang feels about the Rae/Finn living situation now that more time has passed.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed reading this chapter and as always: Stay awesome, my friends! :)

More Than a Rookie / Four
(Baseball!Tom AU)
Baseball Crash Course / Teaser / One / Two / Three
Summary: tom’s first away game
Word Count: 2k
Warnings: mention of oral but no actual oral give
(a/n: okay so to the anon whose message i said i was using for this I changed it just a little bit but wanted to incorporate the same essential idea!! tag list is open so send me an ask. and tell me how its going so far??? do yall like it??? what can i do better? What do yall wanna see it in?? give me feedback!!!)
Tom woke up early the next morning for their team flight to DC. You half woke up as he kissed your hair.
“Love you, baby girl,” he whispered. “I’ll see you soon.”
“Love you, Tommy,” you mumbled. You were the only person he let call him that. “Be safe.”
“I will, my love,” he replied softly, pressing another kiss to your temple and then leaving.
You hated him going. You hated away games. The T.V. crews did their best, but there were aspects of Tom’s playing abilities you best spotted in person. You knew how comfortable he was in the field based on the way he moved. You could predict his motions, predict where the ball would be thrown just by watching him. And on T.V., they didn’t show the infielders when someone was up to bat. Of course, that didn’t stop you from watching him or scoring for him or critiquing him. It just made it a little more difficult.
You went back to sleep for a few hours after Tom left. You slept on his pillow; the smell he left behind was comforting. Tom was your best friend in the whole world. You told him everything and he told you everything. So naturally, you missed him when he left.
Since his first game the other night, you’d been wondering if and when he would propose to you, like one of the fans shouted at the two of you. You’d been desperately waiting for him to propose to you for years. You figured once you got out of college he’d propose, but then he got drafted and immediately got swept up into the whirlwind of the minor leagues. To be honest, you two hadn’t had much time to even talk about getting married, let alone get engaged. But you still ached for it. You wanted to be Mrs. Holland, and wear his jersey with your shared name on it. You wanted to shout “That’s my hubby!” when he did something good. You wanted to take engagement pictures on a baseball field. You wanted to have the perfect baseball wedding. You wanted Tom to be your husband.
You finally dragged yourself out of bed around 10, slowly working the sleep out of your eyes and muscles. You yawned and longed for another kiss from Tom, just to start your day off right.
Instead, you sent him a text message.
im officially up now! have a safe flight, love you so much ❤️
Thank you darling! I’ll let you know when we land x love you more ❤️
You got up and packed your belongings that were strewn around the room. Tom wouldn’t be back for a few days, so you’d decided to go back up to your apartment in northern Georgia. Before you went home, however, you had to look at one more home to look at.
You and Tom had talked about getting an actual house together instead of just an apartment. He had suggested it, actually, before he’d been called up.
“Something with a lawn and a fence, yeah?” he’d said. “So Tess and Shadow can run around and have fun. And kids maybe?”
You’d laughed. “Tom, you know my deal on kids. We have to be married first, and financially stable, and all the jazz.”
He’d sighed. “I know, my love, but I have to get called up first. I need to make sure I can take care of you.”
A buzz from your phone snapped you out of your reverie. It was a text from the realtor that was showing you the house.
Hi, (Y/N), this is Stacy from 21st just confirming the showing today at 11:15
Hi Stacy! Yes, see you at 11:15
You lugged your small suitcase and backpack down to your car before driving out to the house you were seeing. You wished Tom could be there with you, but he trusted you to pick out your dream house.
The moment you pulled up to the house, you knew. That was it. That was your house. You could see Tessa, Tom’s Staffordshire Terrier, and Shadow, your black lab, lounging in the front lawn while Tom chased a little boy, squealing with glee. You could see Tom teaching your son to play catch. You could see Tom teaching your daughter how to ride a bike. It was perfect.
You walked inside and sighed. It was gorgeous. It was open and light, warm and inviting. You adored it.
The realtor walked you through the house, and you took pictures for Tom. Each room you entered you loved more than the last. At the end of the tour, the realtor asked what you thought.
“Oh,” you said, “I love it! I wish my boyfriend could be here but he’s away on travel.”
“What does he do?” she asked. You knew that was more of a question of could you afford the house as opposed to actual curiosity.
“He’s the starting shortstop for the Braves,” you said proudly, straightening your back and looking back at her.
The realtor looked like you’d just slapped her. “O-oh, m-my,” she stammered. “Holland, is that right?”
“Yes ma’am,” you said, voice dripping with sweetness. “That’s right. Tom left this morning for DC and he’ll be back later this week. And he’ll love it as much as I do. So how do we do this, hmm? This is perfect for us.”
“I’ll draw the paperwork up and call you,” she said, still a little shocked.
“Excellent! Pleasure doing business with you.” You shook her hand and left the house with a huge grin. You and Tom were getting a house.
Your drive back to your apartment was long but uneventful. You missed your dogs horribly; you’d only been gone two days, but you loved your girls with all your heart.
“Hi ladies!” You greeted Tessa and Shadow as you entered your apartment. They sprinted to you, tails wagging, jumping around because their mom was home.
Tom had brought Tessa with him from England your sophomore year when he moved off campus and into an apartment. You used to tease Tom about Tess loving you more than him, but you knew it wasn’t true. Tessa adored Tom; she greeted him like she greeted no one else. Her whole body wagged with joy, and it was one of the cutest things you’d ever seen.
You two had moved into an apartment together your junior year. You were so happy to finally live with him and Tess. Especially Tess. You’d grown up with dogs, so not having your own dog had been painful.
And then you met Shadow.
She was in a shelter near your school. The shelter had an adoption event that you and Tom took Tessa to. She loved meeting the other dogs, and you enjoyed just getting to give some of the poor babies some extra attention.
Shadow was at one of these adoption events, just relaxing with the volunteers. You loved big dogs, so you went over and sat down in front of her to pet her. Tessa saw you and immediately pulled Tom over to you and Shadow, laying down up against the skinny black lab. She had been about 15 pounds underweight. But Tessa laid down with her and gave you and Tom a look that said, “We aren’t leaving without her.”
So you’d adopted Shadow. Tessa decided she needed to be a part of the family, and you knew as well as Tom did that Tess was the boss around your place. Naturally, you closely followed Tess in the pecking order, and Tom was as low as he could get. Shadow fell between you and Tom in said order, but you loved your little family with your two girls and the love of your life no matter what.
You walked to the back door with Tessa and Shadow to let them outside. One of your college friends who happened to live nearby had taken care of them while you were gone, and had done a fine job.
The dogs came back inside and jumped up on you. “Okay, okay!” You said, and led them to the couch, where they both joined you, licking all over your face, grunting happily.
You scratched both of them on the back. “I missed you guys! Guess what? Mommy and Daddy are buying you a house! With a big lawn and a fence so you guys can run around and play all day! How does that sound? Does that sound good? You guys are such good girls!”
You loved talking to the dogs. When Tom wasn’t home, Shadow and Tess were your buddies. You told them all about your days, you ranted to them, you took them everywhere with you. You loved telling them everything because you knew no matter what, your girls would still love you. They would never judge you and no matter how bad your day was, they always jumped up to greet you with enormous smiles and sloppy kisses.
Your phone buzzed. Tom was FaceTiming you. “Girls, look! Daddy’s calling!”
You answered the call. “Hey baby!” Tom exclaimed. “Are you at home?”
“Hi Tommy! Yeah, I’m home with the girls. Wanna see them?”
“Is that ever a question?” he retorted. He looked tired; his hair was messy and he looked like he’d just woken up.
“Shadow! Tess! Say hi!” You showed Tom the dogs on the front-facing camera of your iPhone.
“Tess! Shadow! Hi babies!” Tom called. They both perked their ears up and looked at the phone, looking for Tom. “Hi girls! Daddy misses you!”
Tessa began to whine. She pawed at the phone, recognizing that was where Tom’s voice was coming from. “Aww, Tess,” you said with a laugh. “He’ll be home soon, love!”
“Yes I will! We’ve got three games here then I’ll be back in Atlanta late after the third game. How was the house tour today?”
“Tom,” you started. “It was incredible. I took pictures for you. It was just, just wow. We need it. It’s our house. I could absolutely see us there.”
“That’s amazing, baby!” he said with a big grin. “When can we get it?”
You laughed. “Tom, honey, you haven’t even seen it!”
“Baby, if you say it’s our house, it’s our house. Does it have a lawn? And a fence?”
“Of course! Shadow and Tess will love it!”
“Then consider it ours, baby. Once we get back on Thursday night, we have the whole weekend off, so we can pack up as much of the apartment as possible. When can we do the paperwork?”
“The realtor said she’d have it soon. She’s going to call me.”
“Sounds perfect, baby. I love you so much. We’re getting a house!”
“We’re getting a house!” You shrieked in excitement. “Now you’ve got a game to play, Mister! Go crush it, Rookie!”
He rolled his eyes. “Whatever. I love you, (Y/N).”
“I love you too, Tom.” He went to hang up but you stopped him. “Wait! If you hit a triple in this game I’ll blow you when you get home.”
He cocked his eyebrow at you through the screen. “Third base, huh?”
“Damn straight. Every time you touch third equals a blowjob this weekend,” you added slyly.
“Well, fuck,” he said, running a hand through his hair. “That sounds like a challenge. Looks like I’ll be hanging out at third a lot this week.”
You smirked. “Play well, honey. Remember what’s at stake.”
“You better be ready, princess.”
Tom hit a triple at his very first at bat in the first game against the Nationals. His second at bat, he hit a double, took third on a wild pitch, and scored. His third at bat he hit a single, and the guy who hit behind him hit a home run, so he touched third rounding the bases. His last at bat he flew out to center field, but boy was it close. The center fielder was on the warning track. A few more feet and you would’ve owed Tom a fourth blowjob just for the first game. He hit a triple in each of the following games, but that was his only time reaching third in each game.
He was interviewed after each game and they asked him what he did differently this time to have hit so well.
“Oh, you know, just tried a different way to motivate myself,” he said with a small smirk. You knew exactly what he meant by that.
Maybe this deal would become part of your pre-game routine.

i feel like i need to blog more stuff out of me to research my own thoughts ignore me or help me either is welcomed.
so like i was diagnosed with mdd , panic/anxiety disorder so i know how it goes and how it feels and all that jazz. used to be on medication and not for almost two years. i can usually cope well since while i was on medication ifound many ways to do so. but now ive come across season affective disorder and i gotta say i am not a fucking fan. i cant bring myself to do the coping mechanisms because im fucking cold and there is no sun ever.
this time last year i felt the exact same way and almost moved back to fl but didnt want to give up on tn yet. but im wondering is it maybe time to give up on it? i have no family here. and my family is expanding and growing without me. which makes it worse.
ive been where i am for almost a year now and its been good. but there are no sidewalks like anywhere? im so tired of sharing walls. sure, its a townhouse and its pretty big and two floors and fire place but my neighbors are so annoying and for some reason in tennessee so many people think its absolutely okay to let their dogs out with leashes?
knoxville is a really cool city and ive loved living here but idk if i can stand the winter. and its just a mild winter, idk how yall in the north handle it. i see now why when i moved abck to pa for 8 months my mom had it by the time march came around and we moved back to fl.
a part of me feels like i might even just get bored with where i am after a certain amount of time considering how i was brought up. i have moved 17 times, which is wild for a child. probably why i have a hard time making friends too.
tried leaving work yesterday after i got my list done (usually isnt a problem for my manager but the ass. manager always fights me with it). i told him three times i already had 2 1/2 hours of overtime and ill be leaving when im finished but bitch never listens to me and acts like he didnt hear me say it to his damn face.Usually i ask just to be polite and make sure but this time im telling him. kind of snapped on him because the day before i just cried all fucking day and had that feeling in my stomach and felt the same way when i woke up. old me would have called out, one because the position i was in was easily fillable but now im actually needed so i go to do my job and if i get done early that means im working my ass off and sweating like a pig to get done three hours early. (and the girl who does the work on the two days im off never gets the shit down or sets the room or anything up in order to have a good morning because the whole thing is very time sensitive and its very frustrating. also she called out like three times this week and made my week shittier than it needed to be.) like bitch no that doesnt mean i want to stay and help with other things after exerting so much energy that i dont even have in myself to begin with. so anyways i cried and then the manager came and talked to me and was understanding because he is aware of my mental health issues and i forgot steve- the ass manager (assistant manager , but also ass because he can be an ass) was not aware. so all in all i talked to my manager and told him and he was very supportive and then i went to apologize to steve and he reassured me i was valued and adored here which was nice. and i had to basically tell him if im trying to leave early it usually means because im feeling like a crazy bitch whos on the break of a mental breakdown so. quit fighting me.
so anyways.
even if i did move back fl ive finally gotten myself where i wanted to be in my job but i guess if it was meant to be the universe will take care of it just like it did when we moved here.
a week before almost moving back to fl my grandparents came to visit and we were in crossville, which is the half way point from here to where we were living at the time and i was like hey lets try knoxville and the next day we went to look at apartments and as we were looking this place went up for rent almost as if the universe here, ask and you shall receive. because i was only looking at places that was in between the three stores that we could have possibly transferred to because i had no idea which one it was going to be i just new it was going to happen. and then when trying to transfer we my fiancees assistant manager knew the manager at this store here and said that he would take both of us and needed help in the area i wanted to be in and i was like wow amazing its all working out. and it did and it was great and then it got cold. and then holidays came. and birthdays came. and i ive learned so much about myself and i feel like yes i needed this part of my life. and now im not sure if istill need it.
we have a vision of owning a little home a nice big plot of land near the mountains with a spring and creek on site with woods around. if we kept it up and really searched when the time came yeah im feel like we could find it. but what if i still feel this way when were there? then weve bought a home and it would be harder to get rid of. i have a vision of my own business with yoga. i find myself in capable of moving between the months of decemeber and march. then what. even when i get on to the mat i cant get into the flow.
and what if we move back to fl. would he resent me for giving up on our dreams? will i be tired of people demanding my time and energy? will i bitch about the heat all the time and the fact that neighbros are every where? probably, yes, yes, and yes.
but will i resent him for not moving back to spend our lives with our families? will i resent myself for not listening to the feeling in my stomach? or would i resent myself if i did listen to that feeling and gave up on the mountainous dreams.
i know we would welcomed back with opened arms and i know not many would miss us here.
the mountains are beautiful and so mystical when there. i wonder how it would be to live there. i always end up feeling so creeped out at some point of hikes because i feel like something is watching us, and i know there is, there is always is whether its and animal or a spirit. but sometimes those spirits, or beings, are just so strong of a force. what if we bought a property with one of those that wouldnt be able to make peace with us? i always imagined if we ended up with a property with strong entities then we would make peace and ring singing bowls and plant luscious plants for them. but what if they hate it all. and what if our neighbors down the street end up being cannabilistic cult people? what if some animal tried to maul my dog (which already happens frequently, shes a chihuahua everything is out to get her). what if something happens at oak ridge? i had no idea i was living next to a giant nuclear power plant thing.
but then its like okay what if theres a giant hurricane that tears my house down (i had a tree fall on my house during matthew which is one reason why we left) or the storm sturge sweeps my house away. trey is scared of tsunamis, not that one has happened there probably ever, idk but it is a weird fear of his. surprisingly tornados do happen in tn too.
and a day like today, where trey is working all day and i have the day off. there isnt much to do. its cold out so i cant sit on my patio for a few hours like i would in the summer. i dont like to go shopping. i dont have a friend to hang out with, which is my own fault people im really not a big people person. i have hung out with a couple a few tiems, and idk ij ust would rather not. but if i were in fl i could go hang out with my brother, or treys sister, or the few friends i have there. or go to the beach and sit on my own, because its not fucking weird to sit alone there and usually you dont have to worry about getting mugged. i cant go to the parks here on my own. i cant take my dog for walks around here because there are no side walks and people just look shady af everywhere.
when i went to visit for my brothers wedding in october i realized how i did not appriciate the plant life naturally around all year round when i lived there for 11 years. i guess mostly because it wasnt until two years ago that i really got in to plants but omg i cant stop imagining what our yard would look like if we were in aplace where things could just be outside all year round. i would take cuttings of my plants andjust put them every where have my own little tropical paradise in my front and back yard.
i know this all is really sounding one sided atm but this time last year i was having the exact same visions and the exact same thoughts. and i thought about how what if my brother has kids and im up here well hello here we are now and thats happening. i feel like i need to be there. theres even a house for sale on the same street as him and all i could was fantasize what i would do to the house and how i would baby sit for them and be able to see my dog that i left with him because ultimately she was is but we co owned her together and just to be there. and be with my mom. shes living in orland with her boyfriend and i feel like the fact shes goingt o be a grandmother might sway him into moving closer, she hates the city and i imagine shes just as depressed as i am to be away and to be in a city where you dont feel safe to go outside alone. we are creatures of nature and both pisces and very sensitive to everything.
and what if trey and i have a baby at some point? we have no one here to help us. i was thinkg about how our wedding date is a year and like two months away and i have no one here to help me plan. and for a long itme i always imagined myself getting married at this place called sugar mill gardens, a botanical garden that i had always loved in my home town there. when trey and i got together we would pokemon go there and take clippings, and i still have those plants today. but then this new vision came where we would get married on our future property. i feel like we are still a long way away from buying a house here though. idk if we would be there in time. and since we went back in october all i can think about is getting married in sugar mill. he reproposed to me when we were there and that was so sweet and just made me want to be there instead for it.
this is very long but these are my constant thoughts that all happen at once and it feels nice to get them out to piece them together and not feel so overwhelmed with all them at one time in layers upon layers of thoughts. sometimes my vision even goes out and i dissociate and just work blurred vision cross eyed for ten minutes, who knows maybe its an hour. im back there by myself for eight hours a day idk.

Husband Jaehyun
Request: heyy can i request Husband ! Jaehyun and Husband ! Haechan??? thankyouuu💖💖💖
• it’s been a l o n g time since i did a husband! au post • i did one for johnny • so today i’m giving yall some jaehyun • you might also want to check out boyfriend! jaehyun before reading this • let’s go~
• first of all, how he proposed to you • i feel like he’d want it to be romantic and special, • at a time where you’d least expect it because he wants it to be a full surprise to you • he’s thought about many different ways to ask you and he’d spent endless weeks planning everything out • even asking from the other members for help • and you know he’s up to something because he’s been coming home late frequently and when you ask him what he’s busy with he wouldnt tell you, unlike his usual self • so it finally comes to the day • it was supposed to be a full day date for the both of you as he wanted to make up for being busy the previous weeks • and of course you, being excited was already ready and waiting for him to pick you up • but he was late and didnt answer to any of your calls/texts • he ended up texting you a “sorry couldnt make it” • so you eventually gave up waiting and of course you were disappointed and sad • so you decided to make your way to your favourite park to cool off and clear your mind, something you always do there when you’re sad; it’s like your healing place • expecting nothing, you just roamed around the park • until you came across a trail of flowers near the pond you always visit and there’s a tiny note saying “follow me” • being curious you did • next thing you know you’re in between trees with many flower petals and it’s all bright and colourful • there’s a “turn around note” on a tree • and when you did, jaehyun’s there with a big smile but also nervous eyes, and you wanted to hit him because he had lied • but he got on his knees and asked you, which led you in tears • he confesses that he took this huge risk just to propose because he was afraid he’d make you angry instead and if you didnt go to the park the plan would fail • but you did and it all worked out so he’s thankful • on wedding day he just tears up seeing you in a gown because he cannot believe that it’s all happening • same for you too • okay moving on to the actual husband part • now that yall are living together officially, • it’s much more livelier and happy • especially on lazy days where you all would do nothing but just cuddle and sleep in • still treats you like a princess, just much more now • compliments? feel free to hear them everyday • be it to you or to others • “right??? im married to such a beautiful woman? i cant believe it either” • “im glad i chose you” • “thank god for you, i can already see my future being wonderful” • two times more affectionate • would randomly hug you in the middle of his sleep • or even give you small little pecks • LOVES your body a lot and always has his hands on you • especially when yall are doing it™ • he treats your body like it’s a treasure and he’d be really gentle and careful • always holds eye contact with you and loves giving you kisses everywhere like??? • wow • okay im going to stop now and not go into detail- • loves to invite the other members over • especially the dreamies • because he knows you adore them and both of you spoil them a lot • like cooking for them and buying them new shirts/clothes • they call you their parents • says that “jaehyun has matured a lot ever since he got married” • which, you can agree with • always really sweet and caring to you?? • you’re his main priority and he wants to make you happy • which means taking you out a lot and travelling • arguements and fights dont really happen often • but when it does it’s usually because of your wellbeing or something related to you • he’d get so worried that it turns to him being upset • but after he loosens up really easily and would apologise • he’d still be the same as before though - loves teasing you and seeing your reactions • like that one time he spilled cranberry juice on the floor but lied and told you it was his blood • which made you freak out at first but he gave up lying after 2 mins so you almost slapped him • he made it up with a full homemade meal from him so • loves you a whole lot • there’ll never be a day where jae doesn’t stare at you with loving eyes • he’s extremely soft for you • which you won’t deny, you are too • sweetest husband to ever exist • bless whoever gets to marry him

May Small Wins
1 - lazed, went to racheel’s place and put my motorbike there, went to slipi jaya with silvi devi reza to watch seobok (it was fun!!), had iftar at the yumz green sedayu. It was raining when we get back. prayed maghrib and isya in some random mosque. went back and arrived at like 8 past sumn. showered, slept like a babyy
2 - lazed, slept and woke up at like 11, went to nila’s house, practiced doing eyeliner by borrowing nila's (focallure brand), iftar at green sedayu foodcourt (originally intended to go to the yumz but it enforces actual distancing) with angkot ppl minus tik will. Arrived home at about 9-ish.
3 - magang as usual. Went to rm. Took mrt to lebak bulus. My inaco salary finally came. My head kinda hurts after tarawih. Ended up skimming over bj alex lmaooo. Did not shower today lol,,,,
4 - added dr dafsah's revision to the excel database otw to rsf. Pak nardi took a while to arrive. Left rsf early to go to the bank. I (((finally))) activated m-banking lmaooo wow the features are neat wow im not jahiliah anymore. Found this method of just let it sweat anyway during tarawih lmaoo. Preferably with long sleeves bcs somehow you feel less of the sweaty feel compared to tshirt.
5 - sampling - data entry - RM as usual. Theres no new RM. Read a goood dramione fic by bex chan even if its not complete, its okay. Im okay :"))). Iftar was soup, salad, chicken katsu and french fries. Its been 2 days that i practiced sleeping-to-rain-sound. The first night was spent as a dreamless quick sleep (its over before you knew it), but tonight i dreamed abt almira's wedding lmaoo.
6 - no sampling today!! Still went to rsf tooo go to the mall w regen lmao. Did some data entry. Went to PP by mrt. Went back by going to halte gbk and thankfully the kalideres one arrived after only waiting for 5 mins. Its surprisingly quick, compared to lebak bulus - pesakih trip. Took abt 20 mins to jelambar.
7 - no sampling today too. Dr vera gave us lebaran cookies! Did gcp for bu suryati a5. Went to rm, finally finished the available rm. Went home early. Can finally relax since its the weekend.
8 - literally laid in bed til my body hurts. Rly want to read sumn but dunno what. Finally decided to read momoiro heaven. And rere hello. And after iftar i read lack of love. And just like tht, my saturday was gone. Cant bring myself to do things
9 - its another day of lazying (or self sabotaging, cant tell). Read spy family and its effin hilarious. Wasted my sunday. Cant bring myself to even move and i just laid in bed all day.
10 - last day of work in the weeekend lmao. Felt better than being in AR, but still not that much productivity. Went to RM. Phone call w fianti along the way to plan food in almira's bridal shower. Went back at 12-ish. Picked up my dress from risma busana. Walked to and fro halte kebon jeruk. Prayed zuhur close to ashar in kfc's mushola. Felt better after ~8k steps. Had homelab's green tea mixed with vsoy. It honestly made me feel better. Matcha, or caffeine, sure is amazing. At least i had a sense of normalcy before losing all the will to self-care
11 - consumed internet entertainment u til i was sick and tired of it. Watched a lot of cut videos. Granny came and stayed over. So i slept upstairs
12 - same as 11 but upstairs. More relatives came near iftar time so i excused myself to shower. Slept in mom n dads room at like 12-ish. Watched hp goblet of fire since keisha and karins newest obsession was draco. We squealed together over liking enemies to lovers trope haha,,,,
13 - Somehow all of dad's jakarta relatives came for lebaran. the last time i checked, there were some bridges being burned. prayed eid at home. watched perempuan tanah jahanam (which was surprisingly not scary). ate. napped. talked about personal things w keisha and karin. i cant believe the time has finally come where we talk about this kinda stuff. watched you’re next (it barely has any plot, just gore). they went back at about 8 pm and i just sleptttt yall lmao i didnt shower today. disgusting, i know
14 - cam barely get out of bed. Managed to shower at zuhur time. Watched dalbang and laughed like crazy bcs its just that funny. Read fanfics. Tiktok. Ate once and had greenfield yogurt at the evening. Fell asleep. Woke up at 1 and snacked on 1 pack of oat krunch
15 - run bts. Originally planned to go to flavola but it was still closed, so i went to dm's dunkin. Ordered orange juice and oeanut choco donut but somehow the price wasnt package price hhh. Turns out my clires account was somehow banned. So i contacted the admin. Instead of doing dr dafsah's excel i ended up taking off the makara sticker from my laptop. Bought some stuff for almira's bridal shower. Bought arirang at hari2 (its funny bcs yesterday i was seeing online marketplace, planning to buy it, but turns out hari2 the magical place had buy 2 get +1 deal for arirang.
16 - run bts. Managed to move my body a bit. Did 20 squats (ill elaborate on this later). That improved my mood. Tidied up some of my stuff. Saw the paper bag of random memorabilias by friends.
17 - went to rsf by tj. left kalideres 06:45 and arrived at RSF 8:15. sampling. went to RM (still no new ones). picked up by mom. went to salemba for almira’s bridal shower. originally planned to get padang at citra minang behind BK but it was closed. so we drove around looking for open ones. ended up buying it in a small (but crowded) padang place near a big padang restaurant lmao. was the first one to arrive at acacia. checked in, pulled the bed near the wall. showered. its hilarious sometimes with a bit more serious discussion anjayy. went home w febby who drove and clara
18 - went to mcd to get lunch (since everyone’s fasting) and tried to muster the will to do something. i didnt manage to do anything except shopping online (brought dusty pink hijab at hijup). got spicy chicken and iced coffee. (spoiler alert: tomorrow i got mencret2 lmaooo). read my suha and beyond the skidipapap its actually rly good
19 - went to RSF (with mom as usual. quickly snapped RM pictures while mom was waiting. went with her to mami’s house bcs she and uwak will fly to banjar. finally got to meet haekal, he’s such a smiley babyy its basically free therapy. planned outing with nisa lmao. from soekarno hatta we went to vintage vibes lmao since we’re already out. vintage vibes is more crowded now. and there’s less good findings now. went back emptyhanded. ate chicken arirang since there’s no food. fell asleep at like 06:30 until early morning lmaooo
20 - woke up at 2-ish am, played my phone, fell asleep at like 9?, woke up again at 11 lmaooo. went to sbux. had matcha latte. did some inaco work. todays the most productive ive been this week.
21 - went to gi with febby to also meet up with fi, bought falsies and glue (later proved to be of a horrible quality), siraman and pengajian almira (first time seeing an actual siraman), went to blok m w nes ren ara gen. Tried naruto takoyaki at little tokyo, went to daitokyo (i didnt eat anything), and got matcha cake, sakura and mango raspberry gelato at kebun ide. Picked up by mom. Renata gifted me bts 2021 winter package photocard 🥺🥺

24 - off to RSF with mom. no new medical records. wrote fuad’s name on the medrec borrowing form. continued to nisa’s place w mom. lazed, played w haekal, put some patient’s phone number on the inaco excel. Off to GBK with nisa and sarah. parked at abc field (shouldve parked near GBK’s H gate). saw moja museum 2.0, took lots of pics. mo paint (moral lesson: draw the background first!! not the foreground). finished at 16:30. ashar at masjid al-bina. nisa dropped me off at gbk tj station. prayed maghrib on the bus since the traffic was so ughh. met atikah in lippo puri. decided to eat seirockya so we walked to puri. talked about a certain someone along the way. we rly talked about it while walking until we arrived at seirockya. atikah treated me uyeyy since she and racheel will stay in depok for 2 weeks starting tomorrow. got the shoyu ramen and gyoza. took the taxi to atikah’s place. mom’s waiting there lmaoo i was like “noo dont wait at jco, just wait at atikah’s”. still felt energized that night in my bed. no sleepy2. like 100% awake.
25 - woke up at like 9:30. i basically did nothing today. didnt even shower lmao (i showered last night). read the good teacher in one go. zoom meeting w dr eva. i rly need some structure in life, goshhh
26 - showered and went to mcd. got nasi uduk, breakfast wrap and milo for 26k (thanks mcd app promo and mcd duta garden’s menu machine, i dont have to interact with another human). planning to do dr dafsah’s excel after all the data is complete, and still no new inaco data, so i ended up.... online shopping at bobobobo....... (bought outer and white culotte). tidied up the writings on my stickies (plenty of words has accumulated). ordered onejai for emir juan (expensive!!! 79k no promo lolll but free delivery. i was baited by gojek’s 1k 2 week subscription and felt like hmmm i should get something since we live in the middle of nowhere and free deliveries felt significant at that particular time when im holding my phone lmao). fell asleep after drinking vsoy + matcha lol its soft caffeine no longer works i guess
27 - woke up late as usual, went to sbux at 1 pm. tried white peach matcha frapp. the peach overpowers and u can barely taste the matcha. tried to read something useful (in medicine) but skimmed 2 ppt and then i saw solid’s bitly for isip. finished reading banana fish. couldnt bawl my eyes out because im outside.
28 - checked out rsf. Still no new ones. Immediately went back. Lazed and wasted my time
29 - iluni webinar. Here comes the impending life crisis. Ate nasi uduk and mie goreng telor today. Tried vsoy golden grain with matcha. It has almond aftertaste. Line call with kris for almost 4 hrs until 11 past sumn pm.
30 - more iluni webinar. Dr Eric, SpPD, PhD was rly cool. Tried daily box (butter soy chicken). Quite tasty. Mkg w regen. Videocalled in the mall w silvi racil bcs its ale and nadaa's wedding today. Bought gooma 500ml matcha w gofood pickup discount. Ate sushi go (the shoyu has mirin btw). 50k+ you get 6 piece of sushi (2 salmon) and matcha cake and ocha. Quite a nice deal. Talked abt cryptocurrency lmao. Went back and forth w TJ. All hail tj
31 - planned to do at least some productive stuff at home. turns out nila is outside and had some time to spare. so we went out. i met her in citra 6. we went to pik’s white beach. its scorching hot since its 2 pm. spent like 15 mins there. we had wanted to stop by monsieur spoon but THERES A QUEUEEE even if its a hot afternoon. so we ate tom sushi at green sedayu. talked a bit afterwards in nila’s place and then i was picked up by emir. tried gooma’s matcha. its not sweet like sbux. approved by mom (who doesnt like sweets). but its more expensive than sbux’s 2L 100k promo lol. (45k after gopay pickup promo for 500 ml). reread bj alex lmaooooo found new tidbits
