Carving blades.

Highly ritualistic in nature, these tools are utilized by trolls who are unable to (or do not want to) conceive whelps in a biological fashion. Usually forged by hand from one of the members of the couple, the blade will always be hooked as the curved shape makes it easier to carve away only a section of stone for geode creation. The hilts, meanwhile, vary. Bone, wood, stone, and other items all are common - as are runes and other small decorations.

We haven't had a disaster in generations. Our town has been happy and safe for years. Don't call me your sister if you're going to insult me and my entire damn town. You weren't there. You weren't starving because of constant storms ruining all the crops. You weren't out of a home because a tornado destroyed it. You didn't lose family because the river flooded and swept them away.

You don't fucking get it. You've lived in your safe little house in a big city all your life. You don't need to worry about a murkrow stealing stuff because you can always by another. Anything we lose is priceless, impossible to get back in the same way. There are so many other towns, so many other people, that feel the same as us. The thousands of people in each of those towns are not murderers. They're the fucking victims. So shut the fuck up if you're going to be a bitch who's butthurt because you have the fucking privelege to beat the evil out of the dark types you meet.

We would kill the houndoom for going for our wooloo instead of all of the sawsbuck, but we aren't allowed to. Everyone wants small towns to suffer. They don't care when your community is poor. They just tell us to go through the right avenues to relocate them, then never come and take them away, so the houbdoom keep taking away our food and our pets and breaking our fences. Every wooloo taken is money the farmer never makes, people that don't get to eat, fleece never turned into wool, someone that never gets clothed. Every herdier that fights for them is mourned. Every fence costs money to replace. Every dark type hurts us, steals what little we have, and everyone cares more about the dark types than they care about us. They always will. They did when the crawdaunt chased everything out of the river, and they'll do it when the houndoom decide that we're basically wooloo too. We're not evil. We're not murderers. We care more about our community than any of you do, so shut the fuck up.

Atalanta is dressed in teal, matching her hair. The white hexagons on her dress shine. She rides in to Terminus Cave on the back of Artemisia.

"Ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I just stand right here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Artemisia lets her off, and then bends down so Atalanta can put the necklace on the serpent.

Once the necklace is on, both girl and beast glow green, before just as suddenly stopping. Atalanta seems confused.

".......... Where is she???" She continues to look, not paying attention to Artemisia as they start to lurch over the girl, jaw opening. Soon, the serpent is positioned fully over the girl.

"Zita!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are-"

She's gone in one bite.

The monster holds for a second, before exploding into many smaller slimes.

Night life meant a little something different in every city. Granted, she hadn’t been old enough to experience the most of it back in Boston (not legally, anyhow...) and nowadays a lot of her evenings were spent patrolling for vamps, demons, and now the newly activated Slayers. Faith loved the darkness and the night - there was something powerful about doing her work when most of the world was asleep. But those who didn’t sleep were the reason she had to work.

This particular greasy spoon was not exactly one of LA’s most famous, but those places could be overrated anyways. The Slayer found some of the best grub at the smaller places that were just happy to have a customer or two. And for her, food that baseline edible was still a luxury most nights. She’d started with a coffee (which her metabolism would burn through in an hour, tops) and probably had just enough change in her pocket for something simple to eat, but thankfully this patrol hadn’t been working up a massive appetite. 

Actually, eating was a part of the stakeout - Faith spied a lone vamp in a booth in the corner, away from the windows. A basic but solid place to pick up a bite if you were one of the undead, given there were few clients and the hour was late. Everyone was keeping their heads down mostly, save for the cute but tired waitress keeping pulse on the front of house. She needed a plausible excuse to sit and linger.

“Hey,” Faith said, breaking the silence with a voice that spoke of prison cigarettes to keep the hunger down, “If that guy back there gives you any guff, just holler at me. M’kay?”

you typically wait until the last second to believe the truth--because it would destroy you to believe it, and then find out it was a lie. you are someone who has never wanted to want, but has rarely been able to do anything else. the idea that you might have to break down your walls for the sake of someone else, someone who could easily decide they don't like what is on the other side, is harrowing. why let people get close enough to be rejected? you are enough for yourself. and you will tell yourself that every time you catch yourself staring at their mouth, smirking at their joke, finding a reason to flick their shoulder. until the kiss. that's when the flood of want bowls over you and you realize that you are torn between two ways of living. Oh, you think. because despite how complicated you have made it, the moment you kiss, somehow, things seem incredibly simple. they won't be once you start thinking again.
