A: Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Meredith would not be caught dead showing affection to you in front of anyone, especially not her inferiors. She's the queen of that bad bitch lifestyle and wants it to remain that way.

Though she loves doing it subtly and getting away with it, running the toe of her heels up your leg during a meeting, leaving lingering touches on your waist, arms or shoulders as she walks past you, she'll lean extremely closely over you as she examines any and every piece of work you've completed.

But worst of all are the looks.

Usually her looks would burn her hole through her agents head, it's the kind of glance that makes people scream and running away. But the looks she sends your way, my oh my, they make you twirl your hair around your air and start kicking your legs like a lovesick 15 year-old.

B: Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

We all know Meredith Stout does not do friends, to be honest, I think to become close to a friend of hers (and I mean barely close to a friend of hers) you'd have to be her bitch for a solid half-year. And God it'd be exhausting.

C: Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

She loves to cuddle, but she'd never call it that. Yeah, those mornings in bed tangled in one another, yeah definitely not cuddling (in her eyes anyway).

She just wants you close, so you end up just flopping down on top of her majority of the time because you're both absolutely shattered.

D: Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

This woman is rich rich, does she fuck clean or cook for herself? No way.

Truth is; she'd be useless without her hired cooks and cleaners. But you can't blame her, she's devoted to her work and dedicates as much time as possible towards it.

God, she wishes she could settles down, but now earning her role as senior operations manager, she's not gonna settle down for one hell of a while. But that doesn't stop her dreaming about buying a cottage out of NC, retiring and spending ever moment you have left together.

E: Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Easy Dump'N'Dip.

Blocked on everything, locks changed, number changed, work schedule changed. Ending things with you would almost definitely gave something to do with her line of work.

The two of you have discussed it often, you're on the verge of coming to terms with it, but you both know neither of you could go on without the other.

F: Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

At first, you're both kind of just a one time thing that quickly turned into a twenty time thing. It was almost impossible for the two of you to not catch feelings for one another, and Stout's one cold hearted bitch.

She'd love to marry you, but marrying you means planning a wedding, service, honeymoon - and quite frankly, she doesn't have the time to do it. She's fine acting like a married couple without a ring on her finger, secretly she finds the concept of marriage ridiculous.

G: Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

She's pretty harsh sometimes, but you got used to it pretty quick. Our Meredith is stressed to the bones, she does need a good venting session from time to time, but when work isn't on her mind and she finally has minimal to worry about it's honestly like finally putting a new born to sleep.

Her touch is usually firm, she likes holding you tight - god her handshakes are bone crushing.

She's not exactly keen on emotions (as we are aware of), she gets uncomfortable and her fight and flight low-key kicks in - well it's more of a 'tell them to suck it up or immediately evacuate'.

She does try her hardest with you by attempting to comfort you when you're upset, but it more or less ends in her promising to wipe what upset you off the face of the earth without a trace.

H: Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are they like.)

She loves them, but will never initiate them. It's one of those, she'll let you hug her, but she won't let you go afterwards. Too busy enjoying sinking into your hold, taking in the scent of your shampoo, her hands searching every inch of your back, she would honestly fall asleep standing up in one of your hugs.

She will not be afraid to throw you out of the nearest window if you were to do it in front of her agents, just kidding, thought she'd definitely think about it

I: I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

I feel like she'd drop hints nonchalantly all while her systems are slowly shutting down waiting for your reply. She will beat around the bush so hard, "It's so hard not to love you." - "I love your hair." - "I love your eyes." - "I love your smile."

All these clues and you still don't get it? Complete system failure. She's too proud to out rightly confess her love for you, so she expects you to do it for her.

J: Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they get jealous?)

She's so jealous, someone at work is getting a little too close for comfort. Fired. They guy in the apartment across visiting one too many times. Eviction notice. You receive a message/call off of a number belonging to somebody you met and Stout didn't. Whole ass Militech interrogation routine.

It's not that green doesn't suit her, it definitely does. She can just be a little extreme sometimes.

K: Kisses (What are their kisses like?)

Long and passionate, she rarely does short and sweet. Her career comes with many threats, though there isn't much chance, every kiss could be her last.

She loves placing them just under your ear on your jawline, something about that soft spot just makes her weak (plus it hides her smile while she does it).

L: Little ones (How are they around children?)

"Little shits." - "Dirty, snot-nosed rodents." - "Tiny disgusting creatures."

That basically sums it up, thought what she hates more than kids, are teenagers. You're not sure when you discovered this but she despises teens, which doesn't give you much hope on the kids front.

M: Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

She longs for a lazy morning, but she has a strict routine she tries her hardest to stick to. She will spare 5/10 minutes of that routine to watch your steady asleep breaths.

On the odd occasion you'll catch her staring, and she'll immediately scramble off and act casual.

N: Night (How are nights with them?)

You both just fall into bed, you both wait all day for the time where you just strip down from your clothes and collapse into Meredith's silk sheets.

She's a light sleeper, like she'll roll over in her sleep and wake herself up. She envies your ability to sleep for a solid 12 hours uninterrupted.

O: Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they spill everything all at once or slowly reveal things with time?)

This is actually her favourite memory of the two of you (as going to be mentioned in Remember). At first, it was a big chunk of her emotions, and after that she felt comfortable enough with you to slowly string along small pieces of information often.

P: Patience (How easily angered are they?)

She's always angry at something, not just 'Ugh, that's so annoying' kind of angry, more like whacking your hairbrush off your head when you were 9 kind of angry (we've all been there).

You don't tend to challenge her much, not because you don't want to, but because you don't need to. So she's got a bit more patience when it comes to you.

Q: Quizzes (How much would they remember about you?) Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Everything. Like she could probably recite every conversation the two if you have had since you met.

R: Remember (What is their favourite moment in your relationship?)

Of course it's work related. You had left your keys at the office, but when you get back you fin Meredith sat on the floor with files scattered everywhere. You'd never seen her like this, outfit messed up, hair unruly, and her overall being stressed.

You offered to help her with whatever she was looking for, but she refused. One thing led to another, and she just spilled everything too you - she'd made some sort of mistake in some paperwork from 5 months ago, now it's biting her back in the ass.

She felt safe with you, like you truly wanted to hear her out and really wanted to make her feel better. She'd never come across someone willing to lend a hand to their hard ass boss who's not often seen so vunerable.

S: Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Girl she is Militech, you're safe.

T: Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

She's all for the often wine and dine, always at big fancy restaurants where the chandeliers are bigger than the tables. So it doesn't give much left for really important dates.

So they're left to you, because she is terrible at planning a date that isn't just reserving a table and splashing out on the most expensive wine.

U: Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Her attitude, you understand that in her line of work it's vital to come off not to be messed with and confident. But sometimes your kind soul can't take it when she snaps at the new assistant for suggesting a not-so-bad idea.

V: Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Around you, not at all. She's notice how you worship the ground she walks on and she loves it.

Her looks are always on point, hours being put into a mere outfit for people she sees for about 10 minutes a day.. So she loves letting loose.

W: Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Of course, who would file her documents?

That's what she would usually tell you. But really, you get her through the day, you bring an escape to her life even if that escape is only for 5 minutes on a random tuesday.

X: Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Here's a few:

She CANNOT handle spicy food, like she starts dry heaving whenever eating it.

Has two cats and treats them like her children.

She's a really bad dancer, stiff and arrhythmic - you made fun of her once and she hasn't danced since.

Will smoke like a chimney as soon as she's had a drink, but as soon you go to she scolds you.

Y: Yuck (What are some things they wouldn't like, either in general or in a partner?)

Laziness - She cannot stand it.

If she has to wake up at the crack of dawn every morning just to keep NC safe, why is it such a struggle for you to just get out of bed.

At work she hates seeing mess in communal areas, spills of coffee (even of the tiniest sort) send her into a fit of rage, which is quite rare as she's never been seen in any of the communal break rooms (boujee Stout)

Z: Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

She'll go to sleep as though she's in a coffin, but wake up like a single piece of cooked spaghetti.

And of course she looks angry while she sleeps, eyebrows furrowed, occasionally with her arms folded, that's unless she's in your hold where she'll immediately surrender and soften up.

"Back to school"- The kissing booth AU Chapter One

summary: You get yourself in trouble on your first day back in school, go to a party and it´s time for the fundraiser. But nothing could possibly go wrong there, right?

Now that you sat in front of the principal's office, looking down at the fingers that were playing in your barely covered lap, you questioned your whole existence. You were never one to get into trouble and now you had gotten yourself into exactly that by simply refusing to stay home.

Aegon´s sigh beside you as he puts an ice pack to his busted lip pulls you from your thoughts.

“What?” your voice is a sharper than you intended to, but you don´t care. He was part of the reason why you were here now anyway.

“I know you are naïve and all, but I never would have thought you would be naïve enough to come to school dressed like that and think nothing would happen.” He says dismissively.

“I beg your pardon?” You turn to him, glaring daggers into his form that is still not looking at you.

“Your skirt. You were practically asking for something to happen.” He turns to point at your exposed thighs.

You scoff and open your mouth to give a retort, but right in that moment the principal calls you into his office.

“It wasn´t my fault, I swear.” You start to defend yourself, before you even sit down. “My pants ripped and then my backups weren’t there and so I only had this left.”

“Alright, just calm down.” The principal tells you in a slow voice that you assume is supposed to sound soothing, but you are close to tears with fury and embarrassment. Pulling down the short uniform skirt non-stop.

“Calm down? I can´t calm down. A guy just grabbed my lady bum.” You almost whisper the last sentence.

“And he will have to face the consequences for that. Unfortunately, you broke a rule as well. The length of this skirt is a violation of the dress code. That means detention. Tomorrow.”

Detention goes about as well as it could have. With Aegon sulking behind you on one side, rolling his eyes, shaking his head and scoffing ever so often and the guy that had grabbed you on the other side. As it turns out he is kind of cute though. Apologizing to you in earnest, effectively landing him your number and a date.

Which kind of immediately gets temporarily forgotten that same afternoon, as Aemond drags you shopping. You slump in a chair in front of the changing rooms, waiting for him as the two of you brainstorm ideas for the fundraiser. A task that gradually grows to be more difficult than thought. Every new idea turns out to be taken by another club already, your legs bouncing more out of control with every rejected notion. Ending with you rubbing your eyes for what feels like the hundredth time.

“Ugh, this is so stupid…” You groan and let your head hang over the back of the chair.

When the sound of the curtain sounds off and you look at Aemond, it takes you a moment for the world to stop spinning, while he just stands there waiting for your judgement.

“You know I´m not much help with this stuff… Why do you even care that much how you´re gonna look at the party?”

“Because Alys is gonna be there and I really want to kiss her?” He replies in a dry tone. As if it is ridiculous that you even have to ask and honestly, now that you think about it, you probably should´ve known.

“Today was literally the first time the OMGs ever spoke to me. Plus, she is a cheerleader.” It still confused you majorly that they did in the first place.

“So? Baby steps.”

“She probably wouldn´t even make out with you is if you´d pay for it, Aem... Sorry…” When you look into his eye, instead of finding him hurt you see an idea bouncing around in his brain. As if someone out in the universe had silently counted to three you burst out at the same time.

“Kissing booth!” It feels so good to finally not have to worry about that anymore, but with the relief also comes back another sinking feeling. The one you get every time you think about the date.

“What is one even supposed to do on a date?” You ask Aemond as you sit down in a small café.

“I don´t know, like… sit and eat… I guess.” At his answer the two of you look down at the food in front of you. Exploding into laughter momentarily. You ignore the dirty looks the people around you are throwing your way.

“Seven hells, I´m so lost…”

“Come on, stop fidgeting. You´re gonna be great. And if he doesn´t see what a badass you are that´s his loss. Alright?” Aemond takes your hand to stop it from picking at the seam of your dress.

“I just… Okay, I mean I don´t really believe you, but alright.” You sigh and with your hands still restrained by his, all you can do to soothe your nerves is checking your makeup in the mirror one last time. As Aemond drives off you have half a mind to call him back right that moment. But you know what he would say and so you woman up, calm your trembling legs, wipe your sweaty hands on your dress and wait for your date to show up. Fifteen minutes after your agreed time he isn´t there. You take a deep breath and tell yourself to keep calm. He´s just running a bit late. Thirty minutes later you can´t help the second thoughts sinking in. And when you still wait in front of the restaurant an hour later, with no message or calls you finally called Aemond to pick you up again. You thank him countless times for trying to take your mind off the failure that was supposed to be your first date and he is a real friend, letting you bitch about it the entire time. When suddenly you hear someone clear their throat behind you.

Your head whips around, the expression on your face speaks of more than just hurt feelings.

“Hey…” Your `date´ waves awkwardly, the black eye form the fight still sitting prominently on his face. “I came to… to apologize. I-“

“Yeah. One would think an apology is the least you could do.” You snark back.

“I know, but I had my reasons, okay? You gotta believe me. Targaryen has been going around for years, threatening every guy that planned on asking you out. And I won´t catch another black eye or broken nose or possibly worse for a pair of boobs.”

All the words you wanted to tell him before, get stuck in your throat and only come out in a scoff and a shaken head as he leaves. Lips pressed in a tight line and a curt nod.

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” You try to keep calm as you call Aegon that night. Which, much like your date, terribly fails. “Who in the seven hells told you that it was okay to go around keeping guys away from me?”

“I´m just trying to protect you. You´re naïve, but I know how guys really are.“ He argues back, but you can still hear the smile on his face.

“Oh, fuck off. You do not control me any longer. End of discussion.”

“Sure, we´ll see about that.” There it is again. That unmistakably smug smile on his face that can´t be hidden by his voice. With a frustrated yell you hang up on him and throwing your phone onto your bed.

Pitching your idea of the kissing booth doesn´t make you feel all too great either. Student council is more than just doubtful of the whole thing and Aemond isn´t any help at all as well. The only way you are able to convince them, is by lying about Aegon participating. Sadly, persuading student council doesn´t mean everyone else was ready to participate. Not on the manning the booth side at least. Upon asking most of your year, your phone blows up with messages of refusal.

It makes you glad to get a break from all of it in the form of a party. Something you get excited about to early. The problems follow you there as well. Of course they do. First Aemond tries to talk you into talking to his brother and then the OMGs call you over to them. You don´t even finish greeting them, when Talya holds a Jello shot in your face.

“Here, you need to taste this. Tastes green.” Her voice sounds over the loud music.

Your heart beats higher as the alcohol burns down your throat, yet the girls don´t give you a break. Johanna and Alys talk at you to get you to go over to Aegon and ask him to do the booth, who is currently busy making out with some older girl. For the sake of everyone's well-being and to not catch anyone's attention, you ignore the pull at your heart and after another shot from Talya, you get pushed into the elder Targaryen´s direction.

You clear your throat once and then twice before they notice you. You have never seen the girl before, but she is arguably tipsy already and immediately gets mad at you. Shoving you as she tells you to get lost. You go to defend yourself, but Aegon beats you to it. Telling the girl that you are like a sister to him, and she needs to get. There is another stab in your heart. No one wants their crush to put them in the sibling zone after all.

“Sorry, for ruining that for you…” Your voice is barely audible over the music.

“Nah, it´s okay.” He waves your intrusion off with a small smirk that always seems to rest on his lips.

“Now, that you are alone though… I wanted to ask, if you would help with our kissing booth for the fundraiser?” You try to smile and look as cute as possible to hopefully get a yes out of him.

“Never.” He chuckles. Thus, sending you back to your new `friends´.

When the girls ask you what he said, you put on a mask and just tell them “He basically does whatever I ask, but…” You put a finger to your lips.

The rest of the party goes by much easier and with a whole lot more alcohol. Though you would not remember any of it the next day. Not the many games of beer pong or the Jello shots or may the gods know what else you drank. And most importantly you don´t remember how you started to dance on a table, pulling off your shirt for everyone to see or being caught and carried to a bed that isn´t yours right as you begin to fall.

What you think you will remember forever is the all-consuming and mind-numbing hangover the morning after. Looking around once the daylight isn´t so blinding anymore, you recognize it is Aegon’s room you´re in. At that realization you hurriedly check the state of your clothing under the blanket, to find yourself out of the clothes from last night and in Aegon’s football jersey. The gods didn´t mean you well after either. Right as you plan to sneak out of bed and find your clothes before anyone else can see you Aegon enters the room. You try to hide yourself behind the blanket as you bicker with him about the happenings of the previous night and getting to your clothes. So busy, that you don´t even realize your legs had tangled up in the blanket, making you fall on top of him.

Aegon laughs about the whole thing, as always. You on the other hand are utterly humiliated by the time you are dressed and leave the room to join Aemond, who is already up and way too cheery for what happened the night before. On the other hand, he hands you an emergency kit to cure the thundering headache so you can´t be too mad at him overall.

As it seems you have more reason to be mad at yourself anyway. May the seven damn all alcohol for making you tell everyone Aegon, who even now you can´t stop thinking about, would do the booth.

Building the booth with Aemond is a lot more fun than any of the process before was. You are so stressed out with planning everything, so when his brush hits your skin, turning the skin it touched in a stripe of paint, your first reflex is to give him a taste of his own medicine. Through the laughter and fun, things quickly get out of hand. Ending with you covered in paint all over, as he is a much better shot when it comes to flinging the paint at you without seeing much or being hit with it himself. All the while you can´t even really open your eyes anymore, because there is so much paint on your face.

It leads you right into your next… mishap.

In your almost blinded state, you stumble into the closest changing room, thinking it´s the girls one. Your shirt comes off in a swift motion, the color splashes already starting to dry. Over the sound of the running water in the sink you don´t hear the quiet giggles.

It only erupts into full blown laughter and whistles when you turn around. Still covered in paint, but finally able to see again. They don´t even stop when you feel Aegon´s presence behind you. He lays a hand on your shoulder, trying to shield your half naked body from the spectators and pulling you out of the room simultaneously. However, in his own self-assuredness he forgot your promise that he wouldn´t control you anymore. So, you make sure to run an extra round through the full changing room, leaving with a smug smile on your face and your shirt over your shoulder. Reveling in the disappointed look on his.

After that incident preparations come along great and in no time, you are ready for the fundraiser to arrive. You eat cotton candy and check out the other attractions with Aemond, giggling at the irony of some clubs' choices. Aemond leaves you to go and prepare as you approach Aegon one last time. Asking him for help one last time.

“Look who´s come crawling for help…” His tone is so cynical it stings.

“Ugh, forget it. I just thought it would be nice for you to do something for people that care about you… Guess I was wrong.” You hide the frown by turning around and trudging off.

And then it is time to open your own booth. You put on a happy mask and slide the name plates of the first two people in, handing them their blindfolds. Meanwhile Aemond greets the small cluster that has built in front of the makeshift cash register.

“Alright! First off for the ladies: Jason Lannister! And for the guys: Johanna Lannister!”

“Tickets can be bought right here; all sales and smooches are final.” You add and smile as the crowd cheers.

You and Aemond basically get bombarded with money and so the kissing booth starts off as what you would call a great success. Well, one shouldn´t count their chickens before they hatch, or so they say.

After a while there is a rising uproar, commanding for Aegon.

“Targaryen! Targaryen! Targaryen!” You hear the crowd chanting.

Giving Aemond a panicked look he does something you would have never expected of him. He snatches a blindfold and gets out on stage to replace Jason. Your explanation that it was in fact `Targaryen´ up there, still turns away 99% of the girls. First and foremost, Alys. Which makes you feel hurt for your already blindfolded friend. Then, to your surprise, Floris Baratheon steps forward and pulls him into a passionate kiss. You step aside with them. They look so happy you feel like throwing up.

“It sure is okay to let you man the booth alone, right? We just wanted to have some more fun at the fair before the night is over.” Aemond looks half worried for you, but you know the happiness of the moment overweighs that.

“Yeah, of course I am sure. Now go, before I change my mind.” You smile brightly. Aemond and Floris look so cute it is easy for you to abide by rule number 18 of your friendship rules. Always be happy for your besties successes.

When you return to the action you are right on time to stand in Johanna´s way as she storms off stage. “I can´t do this!”

Looking past the curtain you see one of the nerds picking his nose as he is waiting next in line.

“Girl, you said Targaryen would be here. He isn´t. So I guess it´s your turn now.” Alys blindfolds you and shoves you out on stage.

You know lying wasn´t fair, yet still you feel betrayal course through your system. Unbeknownst to you they dug their own grave. With gaping mouths, they have to watch as none other than Aegon Targaryen replaces that nerd.

You however, only feel two hands on your shoulders, alerting you to someone standing in front of you.

“Okay, look. We don´t really have to do this. I know you expected Johanna and… And this is my first kiss. I mean I tried to kiss Cregan when I was younger but we kind of butted our heads together and…” You ramble on and on until a pair of lips shuts you up.

Butterflies rise up in your tummy and you move quicker than you ever have to remove the blindfold, to find your crush of so many years in front of you. In a matter of seconds your lips find his again. Pressing against them, your arms slung tightly around his neck. Your mind feels as blank as ever. It´s like in one of those movies, where the camera spins around the kissing couple as fireworks go off in the background. In this moment everything is more than just perfect.

do you make your bed?

In the morning, I fluff my pillow and turn down the duvet to air the mattress. Fitted sheet doesn't move much around.

what's your favourite number?

21 (if you know, you know)

what is your job?

I'm a [redacted] at [redacted], mostly working with [redacted] and [redacted], and my going to Vienna a lot has nothing to do with Vienna up until recent years being the spy capital of the world.

if you could go back to school, would you?

Depends. I will maim anyone trying to send me back to primary or lower secondary, but if I could bring all I know now, I'd be back in upper secondary before you could say "the dawn of the slut era". I had a lot of fun those years, and I loved so many of my teachers and subjects.

can you parallel park?

I don't have a driver's licence, and parallel parking isn't part of my limited knowledge of driving a car.

a job you had that would surprise people?

I'm pretty certain people who know me and know how much I hate talking to random strangers think being a salesperson is wildly out of character for me, but I was honestly good at it. It helped a lot that I was selling something people need (insurance).

do you think aliens are real?

I find it difficult to believe that we *gesticulates wildly* are the only sentient beings in the universe. Come the fuck on.

can you drive a manual car?

No. Not a non-manual car either.

what's your guilty pleasure?

It's taken me years to get there, but I no longer feel guilty about anything I enjoy. I regret it when I scarf down an entire bag of Olw Cheez Ballz, but that has mostly to do with being uncomfortably full.

tattoos?

All out phobias, I don't really know. I have phobic reactions to some insects and body fluids and any sort of injury to eyes and nails (ridiculously specific, this).

Ew no. Ballet kid in rabid handball/football territory, I developed allergies to sports in general. Okay, I played and enjoyed badminton, to be fair.

Oh yes. Sometimes out loud. In several languages.

An archaeologist. I blame reading several books by Thor Heyerdahl as a child.

please do not value the worth of your work based on notes or replies or reblogs or anything else!!!! especially if you want to write on here! the best thing you can do for yourself is to just write for yourself and what you want to write about and see!!! also i would recommend writing down your ideas instead of just keeping them in your head ,,, if you’re looking for ways to improve your own writing then the number one thing you should be doing is reading other authors’ works who you think is good and really looking at how they set their sentences and paragraphs up! like down to the commas and period, it really helped me personally with sentence structure ( ◡‿◡ *)

Number of WIPs Begun this Year: oh my god too many 😂 not including ones that i finished/posted, 43, including ones i've finished/posted, 96. which is, quite frankly, ridiculous considering i haven't written anything in like. 8 years

Longest-Running WIP: not surprising, my millers crossing au is currently my long-running fic 😅 and probably will be for a while

Newest WIP: my newest wip is (working title) 'Lesbian McShep ft Sam" and the concept is genderbent mcshep with john and sam being air force buddies, and sam warns john to avoid rodney bc she's a bitch- cut to a year later when they catch up back on earth and johns like yeaaaaah so i might've. accidentally fallen for the bitchy lead scientist?

Most Worked on WIP: probably my millers crossing au lmao, it's one of those fics that i'm probably going to be writing forever because there's just. so much to explore in that fic with the characters and i'm loving it so much and i can't wait to share it but it's also going to be so sad when i finish it i can tell already

Favourite WIP: oh man this is a hard one! i've done a lot of writing that i really love this year so it's hard to pick a favourite but i think if i had to narrow it down i would probably have to say either Safe House (my unhinged insane cia mcshep au where they kill abusers for fun) or Childhood Memories (rodney surprises the team with a ton of classic childhood earth activities bc 'everyone enjoys the wonder and magic of being a kid')

Favorite Completed Work: again very tough choice bc i like a lot of what i've posted this year but i think its a toss up between Bludgeoned, a very angsty rodney whump fic with the team going insane, or Not Dating, but More Than Friends, a very sweet qpr mcshep fic that i honestly think very accurately describes what their relationship to each other in canon is

WIP You're Most Excited to Finish: safe house omg i'm so close to finishing and i can't WAIT to share it idk if it'll be very well received but i'm SO excited to share it (for the very niche specific audience of one i wrote it for 😂)

WIP You're Not Sure You'll Finish: i started working on a concept at the start of the year that was radek visiting rodney every time he's in the infirmary and idk if i'll ever get around to finishing it but maybe i'll post a snippet of what i've worked on so far if people are interested

WIP Resolution for 2024: i want to finish more plot fics!! i'm pretty good at writing short little one shots but i'm shit at writing plot or longer fics and i have a lot of ideas for long fics so i wanna get better at it!

2022 Art and Fic Round-up

Oh! Belated but this a good time to reflect on 2022, now that most end-of-the-year stuff is mostly wrapped up. Thanks for the tag, @danpuff-ao3! Rules:

Tagging: If you’re reading this, haven’t done this yet but want to, considered yourself tagged! Since I'm an illustrator AND a writer, I’ll be covering both art and fic, because apparently, that’s what my life is these days (and I’m okay with that!). In 2022, I created just shy of 47 works (a few that have yet to be revealed rn!).

24 of those were art only

18 of those were either microfics, drabbles and/or fics

5 of those were drabbles/fic AND art combined

3 of those were collaborations

I also dived into the Teen Wolf fandom in the autumn, which had me contributing 6 Sterek pieces. The amount of WIPs I have rn...is kind of ridiculous, but since they spread across HP, TW as well as Merlin and Good Omens, we’ll see if any of those get finished for 2023. For now, let’s dive into 2022 details and rambling, shall we?

5 Works I’m Most Proud Of:

1. There’s a guiding light (HP- Perciver, T, 2.5k)

This was the story that started the Where do we from here? series. I wrote this back in 2020 just before lock-down, and kind of put it on the back-burner for a bit because I wanted to do justice when it came to describing and showing Patronus magic. When I picked it up again, I chipped away at what I had to make this story as genuine as possible when it came to growing up, feeling insecure, and of course, romantic friendship. It’s totally possibly to have the latter, and I’m glad I was able touch on that topic for these boys.

2. Things I Never Knew (HP- Flintwood, M, 1.5k)

First time writing Flintwood! Trying to write something mature with a set word count was really hard, but I’m glad I accepted that challenge! I had a lot of fun exploring the dynamic between Oliver and Marcus after they’re a little more grown up, still trying to figure out what they want, and then somehow finding that from each other. Also, mixing in hooking up, lingerie, feelings gave me a lot to play with.

3. It’s Enough for Now (TW- Sterek, G, 300 with art)

This was my very first Sterek piece I made for an official fest/event. How could I not be proud of this one? I’ll admit, I was kind of intimidated making art for a new-to-me fandom and a ship, but I’m glad I took that chance. The overall support and reception from folks...OMG. I’m still blown away by all the love this has gotten and how welcoming people have been (thank you so much <3)! When I think of Sterek, my mind always wanders back on this piece, which carries that hurt/comfort I associate with them. They’re two people who have been through a lot of crap, feelings are difficult, and the future always seems a bit grey and bittersweet. Also, being able to add some mixed media flair and playing with patterns was definitely my favorite thing about making this piece. And writing Derek and Stiles?! Super fun. Am I planning to write more of them in the future? Yes! See more below when it comes to my current WIPs. :D

4. A Sudden Change (HP- Cho/Ginny, T, 200) and So Little Time (HP- Pansy/Hermione, E, 200)

Okay, so I know I chose 2 drabbles here, but overall, writing for the HP Saffics Summer Exchange, was really fun! I ended up pinch hitting and also writing a treat, and if you know how I am with word counts, I wanted to see how much I could squeeze in 200 words or less. I love both of these ships, so writing two completely different things from my norm was a breath of fresh air. I would definitely be up to write more in the future!

5. Put My Mind at Ease (TW- Sterek, T, art)

I absolutely loved drawing this one for Sterek Secret Santa. Honestly, this whole thing came together so beautifully, and during the time I was making this, I was reminded of why I draw and why I like making art. All I have to say is the more I draw Sterek, the more I love the process and ideas that come along with each piece. And well, it’s a 1000% given it makes me love these two even more. I have no idea what it is, but Derek and Stiles are really awesome to draw. Once I nail down an idea, drawing them seems to flow naturally (that’s probably my sign to keep going!). You’re probs going to hear me keep saying this over and over, but it’s true!

4 Current WIPs for 2023

1. Snapshots in Time (TW- Portraits for the McCall and Hale packs, G, WIP 2/? posted)

My first go at drawing Teen Wolf characters was when I started this series. I wanted to see what I could do with portraits, and I started with Stiles and Derek (because duh, reasons). Turns out mixing in random colour palettes was a great way to get the creative juices flowing, and each one only took a few hours (that’s actually pretty quick for me). I’ve got a queue of other characters I’d love to add to this series, so I’ll just need to find the right palettes and the right time to continue these as I go. Hoping to see if I can get either Scott, Lydia and/or Kira drawn up this year!

2. Thoughts That Count (HP- Perciver, T, WIP 5/6 posted, 2.8k so far)

Okay, so technically I was this is soclose to being done since I have one more letter I need to illustrate and write. I wanted to finish this up for 2022, but RL didn’t let that happen so I am going to aim to finish this up between now through March. I just need the muse and time to coordinate so I make it work! P.S. Writing letters that depend on art being made definitely shakes things up! I’m pretty sure the letters were actually easier to write vs. making the art (bc drawing and painting flowers...yeah, that was new for me).

3. Bringing Out A Different Kind of Me (TW- Sterek, M or E, WIP multi- chaptered- this should start posting up in mid-Feb, hopefully)

Okie dokie...title revealed! I actually just came up with that today (and I’m using the old title for one of the chapters). I posted a little excerpt from this fic not too long ago, and it feels real now? This was supposed to be light, cracky and fun when I came up with this idea back in October, but it transformed into this gigantic beast with crack taken seriously, angst, plot, and lots of music thrown in one. I even have a playlist all ready to go (hint: the purpose of a playlist will become important later on in this fic).

I’m currently writing this as fast as I can and whenever I have time, since this fic is going to be the longest thing I’ve written in a while (my estimate is 20-25k rn, but that could change). It’s a multi-media fic where texts and Instagram messages drive the story, but there will be narratives in between that tie everything together. Trying something new and different can be super scary, but also pretty exciting! I’m also taking things up a notch by using multiple AO3 skins. So far, I’m really surprised how much coding has helped me with writing this (I guess I’m glad I code for fun/partially for my RL job). If this fic actually gets done on time, I will be super amazed. And if not, be on the look out for new updates if you’d like to join my crazy journey! P.S. I also have a sequel in the works that follows up. ;D

4. Where do we go from here? (HP- Perciver, WIP 3/13 posted + 1 bonus fic, 9k so far)

This series is always going to be my passion project and baby. It’s the reason why I started writing again, and the number of ideas I’ve come up for this universe is insane! But I love the idea of trying to fill in these missing moments and scenes we haven’t seen yet between Percy and Oliver, trying to figure out the what-could-have-happens and how things might have progressed between them from Hogwarts all the way to adulthood and after the war. I know the writing is slow-going (and yeahhh, each one shot has a word count limit, since this is part of a rare pairs challenge prompt table), but I’ve found having this kind of structure has helped me figure out how to show and tell better, and how to be clear and concise. I’ve got at least two parts I’d like to write up and post, so we’ll see what traction I make there.

3 Biggest Improvements (for writing and art)

1. Writing more in general

2021 was when I first started writing and publishing fic again after taking a damn long hiatus. 2022 actually had me writing so much more! So, I’m hoping 2023 will let me get back into the flow of making stories in general, no matter how big or small they are. Scrivener was such a blessing to my writing game in 2022 since it helped me keep my thoughts organized, and my gods, did that help with writing microfics and drabbles! I’d love to see what I can come up with a writer to not only improve this craft, but also to just explore different character journeys and ways of writing. And if I can come up with more microfics or drabbles, maybe that will help me explore some different ships!

2. Making things for multiple fandoms

So, I’m a multi-shipper and I love soooo many fandoms. HP has been with me the longest and I will happily still create for the many ships I love. In 2022, I’ve found I was in a headspace where I wanted to play in other sandboxes again. I’ve already started doing that (hello, Teen Wolf!), and that got the gears turning for creativity when I felt like that spark was drying up. Also, poking new characters and a new universe let me explore so much! I got in touch with spooky lore, mythology and supernatural geekiness I find fascinating and that ignited a lot of inspiration. I’m hoping to make a dent in making things for Merlin (which I once did a decade ago) and Good Omens (I'm working on a WIP art piece rn). The more I’ve broaden my horizons, the more I can see how my skills have improved over the years, no matter what I’m drawing or what I’m writing. I suppose that’s what creating is all about, right?

3. Using generated colour palettes in art

Okay, so this is not going to be obvious in my art, but when I first started using colour for my lineart instead of good ole black, I would pick my colours with the eye dropper in Photoshop and run with it. I’m finding that I’m using more colors not just in my lineart and shading, but also for highlights, filters, flats, backgrounds and a bunch of other things. And that also means me adding more layers to my work. Being able to use a generated palette either pulled from stock photos or a generator has helped me work with colours I usually wouldn’t choose on my own, so pieces can be either really bold or cohesively muted. I’ve really liked working with set palettes now, and having the chosen in advance gives me once less thing to worry about when I do draw a thing.

2 Resolutions

1. Writing fics and making art more for myself instead of fests/events

I know many of us always say we’ll cut back in signing up for all the fests and such (because no one wants the FOMO), but I actually want to stick with this resolution. I’m anticipating a lot of change is going to happen in 2023 for fandom and RL, so I really don’t want to feel forced in making something that I’m not 100% enthusiatic about, and I don’t want fests to feel like a burden. Also, it’s more important that I write what I want to write or draw what I want to draw instead of trying to check some boxes. I want fandom to still be a creative outlet for me that I can enjoy. Which means it’s super crucial that I can enjoy the process of writing or drawing AND also the result of each thing I finish. I’m super proud of how much I created in 2022, but damn, it was a lot! I just need to remind myself that quality always tops quantity, and that what I make should make me happy.

2. Quality, not quantity

Given what I mentioned above, I really don’t want to burn out (again). At the end of the day, there isn’t enough time to do that. And I’m going to have to prioritise what I do for fandom since there are also a bunch of non-fandom things I want to delve into (ie. learning how to crochet, get my art shop up and running again, watch more TV shows, etc.). Life is short, and I also want to make things I’m proud of and love. But most importantly, I’d love to have more time to see what others or making/working on and have a chance to squee! Sometimes, it’s nice to take that break to be comment on a fic or piece of art and just appreciate something nice.

first ship:

Well, pre-internet childhood/young adolescent ship would be Logan and Nightcrawler from the OG X-Men movies, I’m not sure what that ship name is. But actual like proper internet using, teenage ship would’ve been Spirk and MattxMello. I actually met my internet bestie through MxM 9 years ago on this god forsaken app and we’re still going strong. (also Kingdom Hearts slash ships, literally just all of them in a big pile).

currently reading:

I just finished House of Leaves. I haven’t had a lot of time for fiction reading. It was deeply enjoyable. I went into it completely blind and the horror/interactive decoding was really thrilling. I will say that it did fuck with my mental health a little bit so reader beware.

But for non-fiction I’m reading through... Lists 10 different books on therapy (not CBT gags, mostly somatic), multiculturalism, trauma, social justice, community work, and intersectional identities. If anyone wants good recs for trauma stewardship/work/healing, practical leftist theory (not just wank that doesn’t actually help anyone), advocacy, and the diversity of human experience through the lens of social issues lmk and I’ll send my recs. (I also have most of these in pdf form so I can send them to anyone interested, if you want).

My number one rec that I am currently reading (again) is: We Do This ‘Til We Free Us. It is an abolition and transformative justice book but it also touches on the myth of perfect victims and community organizing.

OH! I’m also reading through Hellenistic Astrology: The Study of Fate and Fortune by Chris Brennan. I’m super intro traditional astrology (not so much modern)

Critical Role campaign 3 and Puppet History (just watched the season finale).

I’m actually unsure if this means food or media lol. I mean, I am a known Animal Crossing consumer (Pocket Camp and New Horizons). I don’t know how to like things without consuming them. I’m currently bingeing through Hollow Knight and just got done with a 20-25ish hour Celeste playthrough in the span of like 5 days. I know this makes it seem like I really enjoy platformers, but I don’t actually lol.

List 3 shipping tropes you love

Trope One: The one night stand that leads to: "oh no I'm pregnant now!". The chaos that follows, the angst and the crazy situation of having to get to know your baby daddy or baby mama a few months before the actual kid pops out is just soooo entertaining to me. Trope Two: Age gaps, preferably older man/younger woman. I am a sucker for an authoritative male, yes there can be younger man that have that Dom energy, but there's just something ridiculously sexy attractive about man a couple years older taking the reins 😤 Trope Three: Toxic relationships/Dark (that may or may not get better). I get tired of reading stories that are all sprinkles and rainbows all the time, sometimes I just want to read some fucked up, dysfunctional shit that can engage the darker emotions rather than one that's continuously reaching for sainthood. I love delicious emotional angst.

Trope One: Gender Bender. No thank you, kindly. Not my thing at all. I've tried them and its like putting my foot in the wrong shoe, lol. I can't immerse myself in the story. Trope Two: Idiots in Love. Now I have a love hate relationship with this, if done right, I enjoy it, but when it gets to the point where its dragging on and on and on, and they're dancing around to the point where I'm getting irritated, yeah, lol, I'm exiting the story. Unfortunately a lot of stories overemphasize the idiots part 😅and omg when it gets to the end and they get a paragraph of actually being together before the story ends 🤬Trope Three: Strong!(insert normally sweet character) This one falls heavily on the strong!Hinata trope. She is usually just turned into a clone Sakura(one of my least fav characters) or RTN Hinata(who I cannot stand!) omg this really irks my soul. For some reason many people think strength = violent, nasty tempers and attitude. That characters, especially female characters, can't be strong without being unnecessarily aggressive and mean. Literally you don't have to do all of that, and it turns me off so freaking quick its not even funny! If you want to develop Hinata's shinobi abilities, do that, you don't have to make her awful to accomplish it.

Angst! For example, confrontations in which one or both characters admit to some wrong doing in the relationship and they have this emotional scene where they either blow up or work through the situation. I live for that!

Usually I'm reading about NaruHina so the physical aspect for me would be Naruto finally getting to experience constant physical contact with another person(Hinata), hugs and kisses, caresses and lovemaking. That gets me every time since he was so deprived growing up. He's not used to that treatment and I love it when he gets absolutely spoiled with physical contact!

This is kind of hard, lol. My core has always been monoship of NaruHina, but that NaruHinaSasu just refuses to leave me be. So I'd say I'm a multiship but with very strict with it. Definitely not a 'anyone can get it' type shipper. Sasuke I can put him with a very select few ladies, but Naruto and Hinata, they get each other and Sasuke, there's no SasuHina only or NaruSasu only, if that makes sense, lol. And putting them with anyone but Sasuke is a hard no. NaruHina, NaruHinaSasu or I don't want it.

I lean more into the mainstream pairings I suppose, most of my ships usually come to fruition, luckily. Though I go hard for the rare pairs of NaruHinaSasu and SessKag.

Polyamory! NaruHinaSasu only. I love my three babies together. If I have to choose a monogamous pairing, it'll always be NaruHina though.

Very! Sexuality is very important to me in general, its like a love language you can only hear through your body, and it reveals hidden away pieces of yourself that only your lover knows about and experiences(in regards to my interpretation of it, I know the world is different) so having them take that step means a lot to me!

They can be fun! I personally ship Hinata/Ino as platonic girlfriends! 🥰I ship NaruSasu as a couple and as platonic ride or die besties for life.

Naruto likes Hinata's kindness! 🥰he really hasn't had anyone that just showered him with kindness until Hina (imo) I love that he has some that wouldn't beat on him, insult him, call him names or make him feel less than in anyway and I know he's got to love that!

Hinata likes Naruto's determination. That guy gets something in his head and he goes for it with everything he's got and then some! He pushes and pushes and moves mountains! Hard not to admire him!🥰

Think it was around 15 years-ish? Think in the Last Naruto was 19 and they met when they were like 4 or 5 I think? It was before they went to the Academy, Hinata got lost during Hizashi's memorial and Naruto led her back home.

Sakura. In the Last she was encouraging Hinata a lot and helped talk Naruto through his feelings. That really kick started me tolerating Sakura better. She really was a nice person in the Last, and I liked her a bit during it.

No. Unfortunately. Minato and Kushina would have loved Hinata to pieces though!

Ichiraku Ramen Stand! It was one of the first places that accepted Naruto as a child and it's where he took Hinata on their first date! And though I LOATHE the Boruto series, I did catch a snippet on youtube of him reminissing about their first date happily while out with his brat son Boruto🥰

The Red Scarf! The scarf Hinata made for Naruto was incredibly important to both of them, Naruto especially, he wanted it even though it'd been blown to shreds.

Ramen.

Shippuden wise, they train. idk what Boruto got going on.

Something hand made. Hinata's pretty crafty and she's caring enough to make him something no matter how time consuming.

Flowers. Naruto's unpredictable, but him knowing she likes to press flowers, I can see him doing that.

Fine. They're shinobi after all, they understand that duty calls them away from time to time.

Naruto would act a damn fool 😂mean muggin, poutin and shit. Wrapping himself around Hinata like a damn boa constrictor. He would not be happy and everyone would know it. Jealous Naruto don't gaf. Hinata would probably feel a bit insecure. She's always had low self esteem thanks to daddy dearest, but I think as long as the ex didn't overstep she'd be fine and cordial.
