I have finally fleshed out a little bit of a description for Adara for my pinned message! It's obviously still a work in progress, but it's better than having nothing at all right?

Backstory: Adara was born and raised in the Azim Steppe. She loved her tribe and her family dearly. Her parents passed on during a skirmish with another clan and that left her clan to be absorbed by the rival clan when the rest surrendered. Her older sister got along with the new ways of life quickly, always more adaptable than Adara when it counted. Things were fine for a time, until her sister was slain in a freak stampede while leaving the market. Distraught, Adara became a shell of her former self and started withdrawing from the few people she had finally started to become comfortable with. Her breaking point came after a particularly bad nightmare and she packed up her things to leave that same night. She traveled for a time and learned along the way while picking up odd jobs here and there. People seemed to like that she was self-sufficient and had a ruthlessness about her that many others lacked. Eventually she made her way to Ul'dah and settled down under a different last name to cut ties with her old clan.

My Rules:

You must be 21+ to RP with me! You AND the character both must be over the age of 21. I will not interact with minors IC or OOC.

Forever actively hiding his shadow infection worries and upsets me - in that good ‘how dare you rp your character so well’ way CC!Forever brings to the table, of course. (Some of it is also due to meta changes and the Purgatory event being that weird “is it/isn’t it RP relevant?” blurred line, but either way…)

A thing we all need to appreciate is that none of the other Islanders are aware this is even a thing. As far as anyone is concerned, seeing WB012 at the Green reshuffle meeting was the first time the majority had seen it at all. And questions about that went unanswered when they asked the Worker about it, likely thanks to the Watcher’s influence. (They also never saw them leave, and never saw them die thanks to being booted for maintenance. Goodnight sweet WB012, we hardly knew ye.)

But wait, Farli, didn’t people who attended the Guy Fawkes night mini-event see the state Forever was in? Yes, some of them did! And of those present, only Bad actively noticed and openly queried about his extensive injuries, which Forever tried to brush off and defer to explaining ‘later’. The rest simply assumed he was a wreck after being in the Nether for a month —Which, you know. Valid— before all getting distracted by blowing up buildings and setting things on fire.

One can’t fault our beloved cubitos for being easily distracted by things like that.

By the end of the mini-event, Forever had pulled an Irish Goodbye and wandered off to check out Cucuruchito, wander the server, and go back to his mega base. Others logging in didn’t see the state he was in, as he wasn’t there.

Forever had planned to speak with both Philza and Bad privately about what happened - except his PC died in RL. One way I choose to view that unlucky circumstance is thus: his body just forces him to pass out from sheer stress and exhaustion. And that promised ‘Later’ never comes.

The next time anyone sees Forever, he’s in a new skin, burns and scars and infection covered up, and Forever looking tired but somewhat better (for a given value of better). It’d be easy to think “oh the black stuff probably just washed off”, never mind that most people there at Spawn had no idea there was any black gunk on him in the first place.

And then cinematics and server shuffling and the Purgatory event happen. Teams happen. An awful week of awfulness divides friends and made thinking about what happened before Purgatory irrelevant in the face of needing to survive.

Forever is a man who doesn’t share his hurts openly, emotionally or otherwise, bottles things up to an alarming degree until he explodes. He puts others far far far ahead of his own well-being. He’s the sort who wants people to notice and care, but also doesn’t want anyone worrying about him. He has the unreasonable expectation as a people pleaser that he needs to do this by himself. What other people don’t know won’t hurt them, only him.

It’s not like anyone else can do anything about it. So why worry them needlessly, when saving the eggs is the priority?

He’s still covered up. Still hiding the shadow infection. And while he’s now on a team that has a few more people he’s relaxed around and has some trust in, we also have little under one week left of being stuck in Purgatory. For all there are long moments of alone time while preparing for the day, there’s few opportunities for privacy right now, where confiding in someone might happen.

When Forever next gets to rest and check himself over, will the infection have spread? Will someone else see and put 2+2 together - and potentially get a 5? Is the infection why he’ll be able to use the Judas book at all when that time comes?

I don’t know. I’m worried. Especially if the infection could potentially be infectious to others….We’ll have to wait and see.

I’ve gone through like 3 iterations of this post but I was watching qsmp all day from Fit’s stream to the end of Foolish on qsmp and it was upsetting despite all it’s funny moments.

Because it sucks that the ccs never include Foolish in relevant lore/rp information sharing. What I mean is that an entire group of ccs will have an entire hour or more of rp/lore talk or activities, then start to chill a bit which is when Foolish usually ends up logging on and they don’t talk to him about it at all. Even if they all agree that there is a certain piece of information that they should let everyone know about. It sucks even more when one or more ccs will tell other ccs who weren’t on at the time the info they discussed while Foolish is online. Worse part is that Foolish will often have some information that they want/need and that this entire situation has happened so many times before today.

And I don’t think I’m wrong in saying that it’s because they don’t respect Foolish enough to let him break from the “silly goofy guy” character they stick to him. He has good serious lore, he’s shown himself to be serious in front of all of them multiple times and he’s done the one thing all of them haven’t which is successfully infiltrate and genuinely become one of the fed which gives him more information then all of them.

You can try to chalk it up to their character not trusting Foolish, yet there is always someone they tell who they should or do trust way less then Foolish. Even to say it’s about the Tazercraft arrest is crazy too, because they forgave him for that and it was months ago. Or even that someone they tell will pass the info along, which is arguably worse because they don’t know they will and why should he always be getting info from a second hand source, when he was right in front of them minutes ago.

It just shows more clearly in the way they treat Leo too, since they will never let her be her own person and not an extension of Foolish. I think they definitely respect him as a person but I think they just don’t respect him as someone able to do good character lore/rp. Which is bullshit because half of them watched him basically killing it and saving the day on OPQ. It just genuinely sucks because it feels like it’s been months now of people just pushing Foolish to the side when it comes to Lore/rp discussions.

And it never makes sense, they say let all the single parents know ____ yet Foolish never knows or ask everyone about the Fed workers and Cucurucho yet Foolish is never asked. It’s not even that he doesn’t help because he does when it really counts. But even more shit like that excludes him and it never makes sense because Foolish is a very active player and he talks to everybody.

Along with all this, this is all part of the reason no one ever gets info from Foolish, they either never ask him, never take him seriously or claim he doesn’t have proof. You could say that oh he should be telling them the info anyway, but like they none of them go screaming somewhat private information the moment they find out(especially Cellbit who they trusted so much to figure out the island/fed) so why should he be screaming private info from the top of his lungs?

It really is just why at this point? Why doesn’t Foolish get to know information that might save Leo? Why doesn’t Foolish get to help the team? Why won’t they let him help the team? Why don’t they ask him about important lore/rp topics? Why do they assume he’s not going to help? Why don’t they let him break from this stereotype that they’ve stuck to him? Why don’t they ever take him seriously?

As summarised by the bio back alley bard is a fictional (somewhat punk) indie rock band I created and are my ocs. They are not a real band and I have no plans to make them the next Gorillaz or Yaelokre - I do still plan to publish something big about them though!

This blog is an experimental side project to me for now so all asks are limited to just Tobi (he/they) BUT if I like doing this you guys unlock full band perms. Should mention though, this doesn’t mean I won’t show them or have tobi give any information about the band. Do with this what you will.

Triggers: RP involving large amounts of screaming or quarreling for extended periods are a definite no to me. 

Things I Will Not RP: Sexual content with children.

RP Strong Points:   Adaptable from descriptive multi=para to concise replies; respectful of others story arcs, history and the time involved to create them. OOC communication friendly and generally willing to work with whomever involved to make the best experience possible.

RP Weak Points: In open/social RP I tend to get lost in the messages, try to read them all and often end up with slow response time.

Would They Be Known:  If you run in less savory circles you may have seen her face but you probably would not know her name.

Personality: Calm, cunning, determined, charismatic, resourceful, patient, diplomatic -   In most cases has the ability to read people well and offer them what they need thereby gaining loyalty from those around her.

First Appearances: She is always dressed in clothes befitting a woman of her station. She is well groomed, clean, hair in place, her clothing is pressed. The only time you would not see her this way might be after an involved healing. She has a tendency to rip hems from clothing to wipe wounds before she heals or create makeshift bandages if people refuse Light healing.

What To Expect: Each interaction with Vyvienne is different based upon who she is meeting. When meeting her, Vyvienne will almost always act like a lady, use manners, smile and be polite. You will rarely, if ever, hear her say a curse word. She abhors rudeness but even rude people will often be greeted with politeness if it suits her purpose. She is a social chameleon and can blend into a situation if she needs to. She might choose not to, but she can. She's suspicious and untrusting. One noteworthy mention – she cannot be intimidated. She has no fear of magic, no fear of violence and no fear of threats. When she walks into a room she knows she belongs there and cannot be convinced otherwise until she makes the choice to go. 

Favorite Type of RP: Do I have to pick one? I do all sorts of RP, ranging from random meetings in a tavern to plot-drive adventures and character development scenes. If it’s RP, I’m probably down for it.

Triggers: OOC drama over IC interactions. This is make-believe fun time. Let’s keep it that way. 

Things I Will Not RP: Case-by-case. Mature content is fine, but there’s limits to what I find acceptable. I’ll speak up if it ever reaches that point.

RP Strong Points: I’m adaptable to all types of RP, from short, rapid-fire bursts to multi-para descriptive. Flexible in all sorts of IC situations, accommodating to other people’s stories, and a fast typer. I like to think I’m a good character writer too. :P

RP Weak Points: I tend to get caught up on the little details when I’m typing, especially in multi-para situations. I have a difficult time keeping up with many players at once.

thing I have banned ppl from the discord for: introducing sa to a plot where there was none writing against a person who had listed it as a trigger, writing a whole app without reading a single bit of [lore, wanted ads, relevant apps] and getting pressed the app was denied, aging characters up in conflict with existing family ages so they could skirt a rule about no sexual content for minor characters, writing virulent transphobia into a setting which explicitly has no trans discrimination, lurking the discord and 'writing an app' without making a reserve or talking and then throwing a tantrum when kicked, talking about their personal sex life on main when we make it clear in every rule page and onboarding area that topic doesn't belong in gen chat, unsolicited lore lectures repeatedly after warnings, writing a red pill manifesto after being warned they were going heavy on unsolicited lore lectures, copypasting an app from a fandom wiki, apping a white guy fc as the full biological sibling to a desi fc and writing a screed about fantasy culture erasure when we told the player no. things I have never and will never ban ppl for: being queer, being on the spectrum, having anxiety call it gaslighting, but if you tell me you have gotten banned more than once for your autism or queerness or anxiety in rp, a hobby full of neurodivergent queers... nah. you were banned for behavior, and you've conflated it with your identity. you might not have been told what you did, but it was something.

ive had to write this two times because it keeps deleting. im a little annoyed. NOT THE CONDESCENSION! you must know i was obviously talking about the content creation aspect of social media which wasnt a thing until the 2010s (if you remember, mcr majorly missed this period). im talking about their band’s platforms. no short form videos like tiktoks or vines, no in-house production that wasnt their primary work, no performing for the camera on stage, no direct interaction with fan tweets/comments, no acting like a relatable millennial, no smashing pumpkins whatever the fuck. that just wasnt the promo game 2002-2012. the closest they got were site blog posts but that mustve been totally fan-centric, more for relevancy than growth.

they didnt do social media like that then. myspace from what ive read (wayback is incomplete) is where they shared their work early on. their livejournal was almost completely unused — their FANDOM was huge on there. they got fuck all to do with that. facebook is so irrelevant to not be part of fandom history (are we missing troves of content?). now the transmissions. that was mostly on their website / youtube was it not? did it promote them out siiiide of their fans? same for the twitter rp: wasnt on any official band platform. they ran through 2011 and outlived the band, far beyond promo needs. none of it was necessary.

there was no reach, no algorithm, no discovery online as can be MANIPULATED TODAY. you know how reprise promoted three cheers on purevolume and myspace (in goddamn 2004)? they just posted the songs and mvs. you could say the videos were the “content” but they were made for mtv, not the internet. is that comparable to the game today? music artists nowadays have to break their backs on social media to get any kind of attention. the internet was nothing like that for mcr.
