im really glad you asked this because i realized the other day that i’ve really mostly talked about cecily/emilia and sai/finch and that’s absolutely robbing lorelai and harvey of their deserved spotlights lol. i’ll split this into two, one section for harvey and one for lorelai

harvey: 

paranormal nerd!!! they love any ghost story, any haunted place, any myth or legend, you name it!!

they met emilia at an old house in the middle of the woods, where they’d gone after their friend told them they’d tried to sleep in it earlier that month and left before it even got dark because they heard noises and one of the windows shattered spontaneously. Emilia showed up at the house about an hour after Harvey got there - the two of them discussed the evidence of the house, and after Harvey showed her the pictures and film they’d gotten already, she invited them to join her as a paranormal investigator. 

Harvey of course was like “??? like professionally???” and she said yeah, that’s what she does, and she would really appreciate a partner! especially one as passionate about paranormal activity, as Harvey obviously was

OBVIOUSLY Harvey said yes because they’d been working retail for two. years. and if they had to entertain one more Karen’s request to see a manager, they were going to lose their mind. not to mention, uh, professional ghost hunter???????? 

Though Emilia is adventurous and bold, Harvey is by FAR the more energetic of the two (and still the most energetic after Finch and Lorelai join the ranks) 

When they’re paired with Emilia, they get things done quickly, because they’re close friends and they understand each other like that babeyyy 

with Lorelai, it’s kind of like immovable object meets unstoppable force, but the object is Harvey wanting to seduce a monster to solve the problem and the force is Lorelai explaining through grit teeth and a waning will to live why that’s literally the last resort for any situation ever 

them and Finch is just a game of which one of them will get attacked/captured/nearly killed first, and i say game lightly because it’s relatively fun for Harvey whereas Finch is on the verge of a nervous breakdown the entire time 

(admittedly, Harvey is very good at saving people tho, so whenever them or Finch do get into trouble, they manage to get them out pretty quick)

their aesthetic is essentially a bard with the wardrobe of a dad on vacation mixed with an 80′s bowling alley 

they love cooking!!! their family is south korean, and that culture is really important to them, and food is one aspect of it they use to express that the most!!! 

they give gifts a lot. like a lot. they love giving gifts for every occasion. e v e r y occasion

They’re impulsive and liiiiittle bit reckless, but they’re willing to take risks and they manage to cheer up the team no matter what! 

lorelai:

the braincell!!!

i say that every time i talk about her but she really is the one on the team who thinks things through, offers reasonable solutions, calms everyone down when things are crazy or tense- she’s the light bulb babey!!

she was a physics major in college, and she met Emilia and Harvey while collecting data for her thesis in which she aimed to disprove, or at the very least explain, paranormal phenomena from a scientific point of view. Emilia and Harvey showed up at the site she was studying because guess what!! there were actual ghouls there. Lorelai was not pleased about this. 

she joined the team because she saw a ghost that night and went “nO. absolutely not. not on my watch. not tonight no sir” and decided she would investigate them in the name of science

she hates ghouls specifically. she can and will go on passionate tangents about why, from every aspect of their existence, they suck.

on that note, she has a bit of temper, but less in a hotheaded way and more of a she’s-been-disregarded-and-patronized-enough-in-her-life-that-she-won’t-let-it-happen-without-a-fight kinda way

Finch tends to stick by her side during investigations, because she’s the most levelheaded and composed, and she’d be lying if she said it wasn’t flattering to be trusted and looked up to like that, yknow?

on THAT note, she and Finch do get along really well! Finch is actually really clever (past all the anxiety lol), and when they work together, it’s brains+brains, so problems get solved in record time!!!

Lorelai usually wears sweaters and raincoats bc 1. she gets cold easily and 2. it was always raining during investigations when she first joined the team, so she invested in a raincoat. it was a pretty pistachio green with white polka dots, and honestly she really liked the aesthetic, so it just kinda became a thing. she has so many raincoats now, but that pistachio green one is still her favorite. 

(HOWEVER emilia and cecily do give her a dark blue one with constellations on it for her birthday one time, and boy howdy is that one up there on her list)

she’s got 4a hair, and it’s just long enough that she usually wears it in a low ponytail/pigtails 

she has round glasses!!! gold wire frames!! YES the frames are for the aesthetic but she also has REALLY BAD eyesight!!!!
