Sae-byeok feels delirious. After everyone in the apartment fell asleep, only she remained awake trying to recollect the memories the events that occurred from only a couple hours ago. But they came in fragments. She mostly recalls seeing red when you and her went to Daejeon. She is aware how rigid her words can shift when she is angry or stressed and she regrets yelling at you. This is something she can’t find the pride to admit but, you’re the reason Ji-yeong was found. Not her.
She is losing her way of life. Her currently lifestyle is making her go soft and she’s still nowhere near her monetary goal to rescue her mom. And because Ji-yeong hasn’t been at work for three days now, it’s up to her to cough up a little extra money on the streets in order to pay rent next week. The money you gave her ran out, so instead of going to sleep she waits until everyone else is, throws on her jacket and heads out the door.
This time Sae-byeok made sure to pickpocket out of town.
By the time she arrives back to her apartment it was already the afternoon meaning she spent her entire morning pickpocketing. Her foot is aching and the only thing she had for lunch was a bulgogi onigiri she bought at the convenience store. She was ready to collapse in bed but she had responsibilities to take care of.
The lights in the apartment where still shut off and all the curtains are shut with little light escaping though them. You were long gone by the time she arrived back with her clothes and blanket neatly folded on the couch. You sent her a message when you departed at seven in the morning so she asked that you let her know when you made it home safe. But have yet to reply, it’s starting to concern her now.
Cheol was also sound asleep on his side of the bed, to her surprise. He also tends to wake up early like Sae-byeok, but perhaps he didn’t get a restful sleep last night because she wasn’t here.
She quietly counts the crumpled up balls of money and coins she was able to collect and stuffed majority of the money inside her drawer.
Her next stop is Ji-yeong’s room.
“How long have you been awake?” Sae-byeok asks after Ji-yeong unlocked her bedroom door and let her in. Her roommate jumps back into bed as she sits on the edge.
“I think like three hours ago but I lost track.” she mumbles, her tone more melancholic than usual.
She notices how puffy and lifeless her eyes are, clearly she was crying all night. Sae-byeok sighs, she wishes she could know the words to use to make Ji-yeong feel better. But maybe words aren’t enough in her case.
“So, what happened with your dad?” she asks cautiously and observes her facial expression to check if there’s a flicker of change in them.
Ji-yeong lets out an exasperated sigh and struggles to speak momentarily. “At first, he refused to see me so I had to wait for an hour until he finally changed his mind. Then he kept apologizing and apologizing and was like ‘I ask God for forgiveness everyday’ but when I told him it was all bullshit he went…I saw the dark look in his eyes again.” she looks at Sae-byeok in the eyes. “It was the same look he had when he killed mom. I had chills up my spine seeing him like that I seriously thought I was next.”
Sae-byeok felt a pang in her chest. A part of her feels like she pushed Ji-yeong into this mess.
“What’s with that look?” Ji-yeong asks. She doesn’t respond. “Don’t feel bad for telling me to visit him. I actually feel better—less guilty about his current state. I still need time I think.”
“Time to think?”
“Yeah, to process everything. But unfortunately, I only have today to do that because I picked up a twelve hour shift at work to make up for the days I missed.”
“Is that your way of telling me to get out of your room?”
Ji-yeong reaches to pat her back. “Look at you being emotionally intelligent!”
With a roll of her eyes she gets off the mattress and towards the door.
“Wait before you go,” Ji-yeong speaks up. “have you seen ‘her’ yet?” she wriggles her eyebrows when Sae-byeok turns around.
“What’s with that face and why did you say her like that?” Sae-byeok scoffs, feeling defensive suddenly.
“I take back my emotionally intelligent comment then.” she grumbles, shaking her head. “I saw her get ready this morning so I was wondering if you dropped her off or something.”
“No, I didn’t drop her off. I left before any of you woke up.” Sae-byeok says flatly and takes a hold of the door knob. She doesn’t like where this conversation is taking.
“She seemed off though.” she points out when Sae-byeok opens the door.
“Did she? Didn’t notice.”
When Sae-byeok is fully out the door it didn’t prevent her from hearing Ji-yeong say, “I can see right through you, Kang Sae-byeok!”
⊹ ✿・・───・・✦・・───・・✿
Later in the day, once Cheol woke up and had lunch, Sae-byeok casually mentioned the idea of seeing you. This elated the boy, who asked if it was possible to drop by your place as early as today. And because you haven’t been replying to Sae-byeok’s text, she agreed.
So, this lead the Kang siblings to stand outside your apartment door.
When you open it, Sae-byeok did notice you seem off. Your eyes were slightly swollen and tired almost like Ji-yeong’s crying ones. Maybe she came at a bad time—or bad day.
“Hi. Did something happen?” you softly, adverting your gaze down to Cheol.
“Cheol, wanted to see you.” she says plainly. “And you weren’t replying to my texts.”
“Hi, Noona.” Cheol greets you bashfully.
Sae-byeok can readily tell that you were forcing your face muscles to smile at Cheol. You bend down your knees to meet at his level.“Hey! I’m glad you wanted to stop by to see me I have some things for you.”
“Seriously?” he blinks.
You nod and tell them to enter the apartment before rushing up the stairs. Minutes later, you come back with a wooden crate full of supplies and plop it down in front of the boy.
Cheol sends you a skeptical glance. You encourage him to look inside the basket. There were full marker sets, graphite pencils of different grades, paint brushes with dried up paint, acrylic paint, and small empty canvases. Maybe there was more in the basket he missed.
“Is this all for me?” he mutters in disbelief.
“Of course.”
“Thank you, Noona.” he says, contemplating whether to reach over to embrace you but held back the urge in fear. You could sense his hesitation so you outstretch your arms and engulf him in a hug.
When you still embrace him, you look up at Sae-byeok, a flicker of sadness was in your eyes. She’s sure of it. She has a hard time grasping your kindness and selflessness during rough times like this. Your gesture made her chest get this achy feeling again.
After the hug, you encourage him to practice on your old sketchpad that had only two of your past drawings on them from high school.
Once he gets busy unloading everything you got him on the floor, you pull Sae-byeok aside. “I’m sorry I didn’t reply that is a bad move on my end knowing what we went through last night. But I also have something for you and Ji-yeong too by the way.”
“What?”
Before she could process it, you usher her up the stairs to your small bed space. Due to the space being so small she had to duck her head and sit on the mattress, watching you rummage through your piles of knickknacks you haven’t yet organized.
You plop down next to her. Right next to her. Sae-byeok wasn’t used to feeling someone’s leg brush up right against hers. You uncurl your fingers to reveal a black woven rope bracelet on your palm and reach your hand out to her.
Sae-byeok bites the inside of her cheek. She doesn’t know if she can handle so much of your tender hearted acts when she doesn’t think she deserves even an ounce of it. However, it would be cruel to turn down this gesture so she reaches to take it.
“And can you give this to, Ji-yeong?” you ask and pull out a thin necklace with a small firefly pendant. Sae-byeok sighs, but nods and takes that too.
“Thank you.” Sae-byeok says, lowly.
“I just got one favor to ask.” you say with rapid fire speed, fiddling with the hem of your shirt anxiously. “Can I paint you for my last project?”
Sae-byeok whips her head to look at you. She forgot the lack of personal space there was in between you two. “What?”
“Can…I paint you—“
“I heard you. But why me?” she asks, frowning.
“You have a unique face.” you answer simply but her face morphs into bewilderment.
“Excuse me?”
“Your eyes are sharp and cool but your face shape is soft and delicate. You have great features for a standout portrait.” you explain with ease. Sae-byeok’s lip part slightly. No one ever talks about her looks, especially not so carefully thought out. “It’s the type of unique face that’s almost—hm…mythical.”
She scoffs at the sheer disbelief she’s feeling. “You’re just bluffing.”
“There’s no reason for me to do that. I had other people as options but you stood out the most.” you say, genuinely. “So, do I have permission?”
Sae-byeok blinks at you. The idea of you having to stare at her face and think about her features for hours is an unfathomable thought. But you appear to be dead set on this decision, you didn’t laugh or mock her to convince her.
“Okay.”
She stares down at the bracelet and fiddles with it, her eyes soften up.
Sae-byeok has a hard time understanding that there is beauty in this world. Growing up in the North only taught her how to fear, and once her managed to flee South she had to became a shell of a person. Cheol, for a long time, was her only light in this new isolated world. She remembers briefly being like her little brother when she was his age, timid and quiet but showed her love. But as the people in her life either died or failed to escape the North, she forgot what it was like to feel and give love.
She never had time to figure out who she was as a person. To her, it was a waste of time. It was better to guard herself from the outside world that was so cruel and unusual.
“Ji-yeong said you looked off this morning.” Sae-byeok says out of the blue, feeling courageous to let her guard down ever so slightly.
“Oh.” is all you said to her surprise.
With another pang of courage hitting her system, she tilts her head to look at you.
You’ve proved Sae-byeok wrong time and time again. She used to be so sure you weren’t this selfless person you presented yourself to be when you came to live in their apartment back in March. But she’s ashamed to admit that she was wrong about your character. Very wrong.
“You did a lot for me last night. I won’t forget it.” she says after more and more momentary silence.
“It’s not—“
“Quit being so selfless for once.” she says in annoyance. She straightens up her posture and exhales trying to gather her words. “Can—Can you look at me?”
Hesitantly, you do as she says. Your face screams of worry and fear.
“What’s wrong?” Sae-byeok barely manages to say while looking into your eyes. “Tell me.”
She feels vulnerable under your tender gaze, noticing that you were studying her facial features carefully. It takes everything in her not to break away.
“I feel sad.” you say, shakily. “I still can’t believe my parents let me go so easily...” your chest visibly heaving. Before your lips start trembling you glance away.
Sae-byeok gulps. Before her brain could start figuring out what to do next she hears Cheol’s footsteps. You both instinctively scoot farther away from each other and compose yourselves.
“Is everything okay?” you ask the boy when he appears from the top of the stairs. Sae-byeok heard the glumness you tried terribly to mask.
“I don’t know how to work this, Noona.” he pouts, holding out a set of watercolor paint.
“Here, I will show you.” you say and hurry to get off of your bed to lead Cheol back downstairs. “This is watercolor paint. It’s dried up right now because you need to activate it with water.”
When Sae-byeok knows you’ve made your way to the kitchen she lets out a set of groans and palms her face. She doesn’t know why she is so bad at this. Comforting—a complete mystery to her.

ONE WEEK BEFORE SCHOOL.
“how about you go and get tickets for the upcoming game? high school season starts very soon.” michel reached for his wallet and grabbed some money inside it and handed it to camila. michel loved basketball, he did it for some time and even planned on doing it in college but his plans got interrupted once he moved to washington. adrianna didn’t share the same passion as michel did, but she did enjoy it watching it and supporting teams, it remembered her the last year of high school, when he was a cheerleader for the american football team, she even showed camila some tricks! life’s had been too good to be true, she tried the so famous milkshakes ‘p’ told her about, she went camping in the near by woods and saw a girl that looked oddly similar to what ‘p’ described herself. from afar she looked very animated and cheerful, everyone had a smile drawn on their face near her and it even made camila creep a smile while she focused on her.
camila reached for the money and started to mentally count the money and after placed it on the back of her pockets, “the leftover money, you can spend it on anything you want.” michel softly spoked with a assuring smile and camila gave a small nod making her way out the house door.
the afternoon chilly air filled up camila’s nostrils quickly while closing the door behind her, her nose become a softly pink that made her fingers grip into her hoodie, almost sprinting to the closest store near a school that sold tickets.
she entered the store when she suddenly bumped into someone, she closed her eyes waiting for another impact to happen, when she heard a loud groan coming from the person she bumped with. she slowly opened her eyes to see.
a dark haired girl glared down at her light pink shirt, dripping from the chocolate milkshake that had fallen upon her because of the sudden crash, “oh.my.god..look what you have done! dumb bitch!” the taller girl shouted not before launching her—now empty— milkshake away from her, “can’t you see were you’re going!?” she barked at camila, the curly haired girl took a deep breath before speaking to defend herself, “you were right in front of the door!” camila snapped back at her. the fuming woman gave her an acknowledgment look, looking closely at her face and the clothe she wore, when her eyes stopped at her hair, her nose wrinkled, a sign of disgust. camila did made a mental note about how curly haired people were kinda extinct in this area, but it looked like this girl had never seen a curly person never in her life and she observed camila like if she was a disgusting bug that landed in her milkshake. “jesus, rose. let’s go, you can later buy a new one.” a girl behind her grabbed this called rose by her wrist and dragged her out the store.
camila felt rotten inside when rose give her hair a nasty glaze, she didn’t really define it this morning and forgot to put on her bonnet on before going to sleep, it wasn’t that terrible, but rose made it feel like if her hair had gained consciousness and insulted her in every way possible.
“looking for tickets?” a voice took her out of her state of mind, it was coming from the register. “yeah, um. sorry for the inconvenience.” camila added quickly, gathering herself into walking to the register, taking out the money from her pocket. “no worries, rose is a regular problem around here.” the guy explained, taking something behind the counter. “i recommend you to stay out of her way, even if you go to the same school.” he stated, camila’s eyes widen with the response he gave to her. “how do you know where school i’m going to?” she inquired, a stranger knew about her transfer to a new school, did he also know where was she born? “rumors fly fast. brazilian?” he added, handing her the tickets. “um, yes.” camila snatched the tickets from the strangers hands and stumbled with counting the money almost launching it towards the register.
she made her way out of the store, it was now clearly dark, the parking lot was now lonely and the kids that were near the park had gone to the safety of their homes. a wet, tangy nose sniffed her hand rapidly, she looked down surprised to see a small golden retriever, once the dog noticed they got finally someone’s attention, their tail wiggled with emotion and started letting out small barks.
“oh, hello buddy.” camila reached down to pet the small creature, the pure night brought with it a gentle breeze, but strong enough to make camila shiver under her hoodie, the puppy didn’t escape the cold air, making it also start to shiver, that camila did notice.
she knew monica needed a little company and michel has been dying to adopt a golden retriever—it reminded him of his dog back in canada— camila gently grabbed the dog, scooping it around her arms as if it was going to protect the cold dog.
she took a moment to analyze the pup under her protection, when a sharp pain appeared on the bridge of her nose, a gushy feeling making its way down her nostril, landing on the soft fur of the body she was holding dearly. the dog sniffed the gently the blood disturbing his back. “shit— uh” camila gasped under her shaky breath, looking behind her, into the store, the guy was still looking at her, almost wanting to burn holes into her clothes, this made camila shiver even more. going back into that store was not a good idea.
her phone started vibrating in her pocket, she struggled to keep the dog safe in her arms while taking her phone out, the word ‘p 💗’ decorated the screen brightly.
“yoo, i just saw rose fucking nepobaby and she was fuming!” p exclaimed happily, “i wonder who got her like that.” camila bite down her lip starting to walk towards her house. “it was—um, me.. actually..” camila mumbled, just high enough for p to hear her. “no way..” p gasped, in the background you could hear rumbling across whatever room she was destroying. “let’s leave that conversation for another time..” camila said low, embarrassed.
she was barely new to the town and she was already causing problems, adrianna warned her, yet she didn’t listen. “did you lose something?” she added quickly not wanting the conversation to die. “my uniform! i swear i left it beside my backpack.” p let out a loud sigh. “okay, um, about rose.. why call her a nepobaby?” camila questioned sniffing her nose trying to prevent anymore blood flowing from her nose. “she sucks at basketball, she is only in the team because her daddy is rich!” p exclaimed, pumping herself into laying on her bed, exhausted from looking everywhere, “are you catching a cold? wait— did rose do something to you?” p quickly insinuated hearing the constant sniff from across the line. “just some bloody nose. i’m okay.” camila explained.
her footsteps becoming quicker and unstable, her throat was attacked by the feeling of being burned, she could taste the metallic blood in her mouth, the golden retriever dedicated itself to lick the dry milkshake that stained camila’s hoodie.
“not to worry you, but you and rose are going to the same school.” p laughed before quickly shouting down the giggle threatening to come out of her lips, “that just made my night worse, maybe my whole school year too.” camila groaned putting down the puppy and started fidgeting with her keys. once she entered the house, silence adorned the warm walls, monica came sprinting towards her, amused by the sudden view of new company.
“don’t worry love, if she does something to you, she will pay, trust.” p whispered, a lovely smile creeping its way into her lips, “not only on the court.” camila attacked quickly, marching her way up her bedroom.
“if she has soo much money, why doesn’t she go to a private school?” camila whined into her pillow, “she did, but! her father changed schools because of her bad grades.” p explained, gathering herself up, determined to find her uniform.
“she is going to eat me alive..” camila whimpered
“im supposed to do that.” p let out, not thinking twice about the weight of her words.
“paige! what the fuck!” camila let out a high chuckle laying her back on the bed looking tensely at her ceiling. “want to go for milkshakes before first day of school?” p hinted, “sounds like a plan.”

My Archenemy – Tyler Owens
Tumblr media
All anyone can talk about is Tyler Owens. My students are obsessed with his videos. They idolize him.
I, on the other hand, would love to go a day without someone bringing him up. After high school, I stayed in town and went to the nearby college. I remained here and ended up teaching science at my old high school. Tyler only reappeared when tornados came to town.
I tried not to think about him. I didn't want to. We were childhood archenemies. Tyler and I were constantly competing. From spelling tests to reading competitions to science fairs. I was better at biology. Tyler was better at environmental science. We were always going head-to-head.
Whenever one of us won something, the other jumped up and won at the next thing. It got tiresome for me, but Tyler loved the competition.
After a long day at work, I stopped at the grocery store on my way home. I roamed the aisles, grabbing things here and there. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw that there was still one box of my favorite granola bars left. I went to grab it but someone had the same idea.
"Oh. I'm sorry. . . I was just. . . Tyler Owens?"
"Well, I'll be," he chuckled, instantly smirking his famous smirk. "If it isn't little Y/F/N Y/L/N."
"I'm surprised to see you back in town," I said, resisting the urge to look him up and down.
"Did you miss me?" He smirked.
"No," I didn't hesitate. "But now I miss the peace that was here when you weren't."
I started to reach for the box of granola bars, but Tyler snatched it. "Really?" I mumbled under my breath.
"I seem to remember you always had several of these in your backpack in high school," he chuckled as he pretended to read the nutritional facts. He smirked at me before dropping it into his handbasket.
"And something tells me you're not going to give me the last box," I scoffed, grabbed my shopping cart, and started walking the other way.
"We could make an exchange," Tyler said after he jogged to catch up with me.
"You have nothing I would want," I scoffed.
"Not even in exchange for the only food I've ever seen you eat?" He chuckled.
"Nope," I said, grabbing some cereal.
"You're no fun," he pouted.
"Yep."
"You haven't changed, have you, Y/L/N?"
"You shouldn't change perfection, Owens."
* * * * *
After my weird run-in with Tyler, I went home and instantly ordered my favorite granola bars on Amazon. I then used a bottle of wine to help me forget about our town's hero.
When I went to work the next day, the students were all buzzed. I had no idea why until I heard a certain conversation.
"Can you believe he's here?" One of my female students giggled.
"Isn't he from here?" Her friend asked.
"He is!" Another one of their friends added. He did a video a few years ago, and they talked about how he grew up here and even went to this school!"
"Wait," the first girl said, "didn't Ms. Y/L/N go to this school when she was our age?"
I kept my focus on my computer, hoping they wouldn't do what I thought they were about to do.
They did.
"Ms. Y/L/N, we have a question."
"What's up, girls?" I asked.
"Is it true that you went to school here?" They started with a warm-up question. They did this all the time.
"I did," I nodded, leaning back in my chair and embracing myself for the question they really wanted to ask me.
"Is it true that Tyler Owens, the Tornado Wrangler, went to school with you?"
"He did," I sighed. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes when they squealed.
"We know he's gorgeous, but what was he like in person?"
"Is he sweet?"
"Is he funny?"
"Was he always the 'risk his life to save others' type?"
"He is basically the town's hero! Did he ever save you?"
"Girls," I cut them off, "I'll answer your questions if you answer mine."
"Sure!"
"Have you finished your assignment?" I smirked when they looked at each other. I almost laughed when they sighed and walked back to their desks. Luckily, the bell rang before they could come back and ask me those questions.
At the end of the day, I finished a few things before heading out. By then, it was raining. I pulled my jacket over my head and ran to my car. As I got in, I debated whether driving home in this weather could be unsafe, but there was no sign of it letting up.
My need for comfy clothes and a glass of wine convinced me to risk it. I carefully pulled out of the staff parking lot and headed home. I got to a red light and looked at the clouds, wondering if this would turn into a Tyler Owen's Worthy Storm. When the light turned green, I didn't hesitate to go.
I should've hesitated.
Right as I went through the intersection, another car ran the red light. I didn't have time to react before they hit my back tire. My car started spinning but there was nothing I could do to get out of it. Suddenly, I heard a large bang and my car stopped spinning.
I looked around but nothing made sense. I couldn't recognize any landmarks. I couldn't even remember what light I was at when I got hit.
"Y/N?!"
I couldn't respond. My head was spinning too much. I reached up, gasping in pain when I touched something wet.
"Y/N, are you alright?"
When I brought my hand back down, there was blood on my fingers. I leaned my head against the headrest, waiting for the spinning to stop.
"Shit, you're bleeding," the voice said. "Y/N, unlock the door."
I could feel my hand shaking as I hit the unlock button. As soon as I did, the door swung open. Someone knelt next to me, gently putting their wet hand on my knee. I could feel the rain hitting my face.
"Y/N," they said, their voice softer this time. "Look at me. Please?"
When I did, it took a second before I realized who it was. "Tyler?" I stuttered.
"Oh good," he joked. "You didn't hit your head so hard that you forgot about me."
"I wish I had," I mumbled as I looked away.
"You wanna know something, Y/L/N?" He chuckled. "I don't think you actually hate me. I think you pretend to hate me so I don't find out that you have a crush on me."
"You wanna know something, Owens?" I repeated his question, slowly lifting my head and looking at him. "I would. . ."
I closed my eyes and leaned my head back against the headrest when it got too painful to try and focus on his face.
"We can bicker later," he said lightly. "Right now, let's get you some help. He grabbed my hand as he stayed squatting down but called 911.
Tyler stayed with me the whole time. He was right by my side, getting soaked in the rain, as we waited for the ambulance. Even as they put me in the back and took me to the hospital, Tyler stayed in the rain, watching.
* * * * *
I was only in the hospital for a night. I called the school and let them know what happened. They didn't hesitate to cover my classes for me and reassure me that they could handle things until I was better.
When I got home, I instantly collapsed on the couch. I put on a show I was binging before the accident and soon fell asleep on the couch. I woke up about an hour later to someone knocking.
"Tyler," I gasped when I opened the door. I subconsciously wrapped my cardigan tighter around me. "What are you doing here?"
"I heard you were released from the hospital earlier this morning and I wanted to see how you were feeling," he said, shoving his hands into his back pockets.
"I'm fine," I sighed.
"Are you sure? It was a bad accident," he shrugged. Something in his eyes changed. "Your car spun out and you ended up hitting. . ."
"I know," I cut him off, looking away from his weirdly soft eyes. "It was just a concussion."
"But it must've been scary," he said softly. I looked back at him, my heart feeling like it was in my throat.
"I don't remember it much," I mumbled.
"You don't?" He asked, taking a small step toward me.
"I remember my car spinning out," I recalled slowly. "And trying to turn out of it. Then. . . nothing."
"Y/N," he said softly.
"What are you doing?" I snapped, breaking this weird tension.
"What do you mean?" He chuckled.
"This," I said, gesturing between him and me. "You coming and checking on me. Being sweet. Saving me."
"Y/N," he gently cut me off. "Do you really think I'm the kind of guy who'd watch you get in a car accident and not help you?"
"You did it in high school," I said, dropping my voice.
As I stared at him, I remembered the day in high school when I got rear-ended on my way home from school. I still remember being on the phone, waiting for my dad to answer, and seeing Tyler drive by in his truck.
"Y/N. . ." He stuttered.
"Thank you for checking on me," I said, clearing my throat, "but I'm fine. In fact, I should probably get some rest."
Before he could say anything else, I shut the door.
* * * * *
A few hours later, I sighed when there was a knock on the door. I stood up but had to stop because I felt dizzy. When it passed, I slowly made my way to the door.
"Tyler," I stuttered. "What are you doing here? Again?"
"I wanted to apologize," he said. "I know we had our weird back-and-forth growing up, but I want you to know that I didn't hate you when we were younger. I've never hated you, Y/N."
I smirked as I folded my arms and leaned against the doorframe. "So the time you stole my science notes and spilled soda all over them? Or the time you wrote swear words on my notecard for our biology exam? Or the time you almost tripped me at graduation?"
"Don't you notice flirting when you see it?"
"Bullshit," I scoffed a little too soon.
I saw the look on his face drop. Only for a second though. He quickly recovered his annoying smirk. My heart jumped into my throat when he took a step closer, instantly feeling like he was towering over me.
"Clearly, I need to take a more direct approach."
"Direct approach?" I repeated. "Tyler, what are you. . ."
He cut me off by grabbing my face and pressing his lips to mine. I wasn't sure what to do. My mind was racing and all I could focus on, besides Tyler's surprisingly soft hands holding my face, was the feeling of his lips on mine. Sooner than I would've liked, he broke the kiss.
"I may not have stayed," he whispered, "but I called the police."
"What are you talking about?" I asked, matching his tone.
"That day," he continued, dropping his hands from my face, "in high school. When you got into your crash, I froze. I kept driving because I didn't know what to do. When I got home, I instantly called the cops. I didn't even tell my mom until after I had gotten off the phone."
"Why are you telling me this?" My voice was now under my breath.
"Because when I saw your accident yesterday, I didn't freeze," he said gently. "I knew I had to do something. And fast. I couldn't drive away again."
"I shouldn't have brought that up," I stuttered.
"No, it's okay," he cut me off. "I was wrong not to do anything in high school. I should've stayed around. I should've helped you."
"You did tonight," I said, my voice dropping again. I couldn't help but smile when I thought about the girls in my class the other day.
"What?" He asked, his playful smirk returning.
"It's something my students said the day of the accident."
Tyler smiled as he reached up and moved some hair out of my face, his hand lingering on my face. "What did they say, Ms. Y/L/N?" He lightly teased.
"You really are this town's hero."
Tyler laughed, slightly shaking his head. "I only care about being one person's hero," he said, slowly leaning in.
"Who's?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Yours."
He leaned in and pressed his lips to mine. I ignored all the doubts that flooded my brain as our lips started moving in sync. I grabbed the front of his flannel, pulling him closer to me. He responded by wrapping his arms around my waist.
"Oh!" He broke the kiss suddenly. "I almost forgot."
Confusion flooded me as Tyler stepped slightly out my front door and grabbed something from the ground. When he turned back toward me, he was holding a box of my favorite granola bars.
"I believe I owe you these."

Jason is a Teenage Dad Part 5
(So this part might be a bit wonky in some places, I did write a portion of this while in the hospital on pain meds so.)
Keeping the family business from Danny? Yeah that didn’t happen. The child could go ghost whenever he wanted and use his invisibility to sneak around the manor. He knew about the Batcave and how everyone else in the house was connected. What impressed Jason the most is that he didn’t need to ask any questions to understand what was going on. He had met Babs, Cass and Steph and immediately knew who they were. He knew Jason used to be Robin. He knew Tim was Robin now.
It had only been 4 years and Danny had improved so much. His flashbacks had toned down significantly and he was running around like a normal 7 year old. Well as normal as a half ghost 7 year old who used to be 15 with ghost powers could be. He adapted well.
Things were changing in the household constantly, people coming and going from the house whenever needed. Jazz Sam and Tucker only stayed in the manor half of the time, having the Manson estate that the three of them also shared. Steph on the other hand, was living with them full time. She had gotten pregnant by her boyfriend who dumped her after finding out. According to Steph, she wasn’t planning on telling anyone except Tim but Clockwork had left her a note telling her move in with Bruce and that he would handle everything else.
Clockwork did that sometimes. Like with Cass. She had gotten one of his post it notes one day and it had spooked her enough to turn around instead of following her orders. She had gotten another one when she was saving Commissioner Gordon, telling her to let Batman take her in. Not all of the notes were on big things. Sometimes they would get one just because. The latest one Jason got was telling him to remind Sam to eat lunch. It was almost as if the family had gained an all seeing, overpowered, ancient being uncle.
Ever since learning about Danny’s halfa status and his own…. whatever he was? It’s hard to pinpoint. He wasn’t exactly a revenant, didn’t fit the requirements of a liminal and didn’t possess the full capabilities of a halfa. But he was still some sort of ecto based being. Tucker had taken it upon himself to try to give it a name. The closest thing Tuck had suggested so far was a zombie but that was flimsy at best. Anyways, after learning the truth, Jason was doing his best to provide for the slightly different needs of himself and Danny as ecto beings.
Bruce had been nice enough to let them put their graves in the Wayne family cemetery. Since Jason hadn’t been dead for very long before he came back so Bruce had never had the time to give him one. And Danny had gone far too long without one according to Jazz. It means a lot to the dead to be honored with a grave, even if they themselves weren’t in it. Bruce had let Jason and Danny design a mausoleum for their name stones to be in. With compartments as if their bodies were in there and everything. Jason tended to just store things in his while Danny sometimes felt better to sleep in his. Jason admitted, being near his grave made him feel better but he was far too big in the shoulders to fit in the compartment. Danny and Jason designed the structure to fit up to 6 bodies, incase anyone wanted to be buried with them in the future.
Jason also started working with the JL to try and dissolve the Anti-ecto Acts. The SCP Foundation was fighting against it hard. Apparently, they saw ecto beings as SCPs that should be under their jurisdiction. Danny’s friends were helping out the case together. Since ecto beings were technically under the rule of their own government. Apparantly JLD was cooking up something so the Ghost King could get involved personally with the help of Sam and Tucker who were on good terms with the guy.
The ambient ecto in Gotham was enough to live off of so it wasn’t too bad but others like them that didn’t live in high ecto areas like Gotham or Amity Park didn’t deserve to not have access to ecto and even more didn’t deserve to hide who they were in order to survive. The ecto in Gotham wasn’t as pure as Jazz said Danny used to work with in Amity and the purer the ecto, the better for the environment and their health.
Danny was turning out to be the little genius. Jason knew that he could still remember things from before he was de aged and apparently, he had a lot of experience with mechanical engineering. He was working with Tim and Tucker to try and develop a filtration system of sorts to clean the ecto in Gotham. At first, Jason wasn’t so sure about leaving Danny all by himself on the lab. He was only seven after all. But after talking to Jazz about it… he was concerned about other things.
“Well I love his enthusiasm and these blueprints look… oddly professional but he’s only just a kid and if something goes wrong and no one is in the lab with him…” Jason said, sipping his coffee. He wasn’t lying, Danny couldn’t draw artistically to save his life but the moment he needed to draw a blueprint he was suddenly DaVinci.
Jazz who stayed at the manor almost exclusively except for nights where her work took her to a part of town that was closer to Sam and Tucker’s place and it was too late to drive all the way home, looked at the blueprints over Jason’s shoulder while she headed to the kitchen to pour herself her own coffee. “Looks like he never lost that talent of his. Danny could build anything he put his mind to back then. He was even more talented than Mom and Dad. It was too bad that he was always so busy being Phantom that he never got to… well you know… spend time on the things he liked.”
And with that, Jason watched as she walked away to the kitchen. Jason and Jazz were friends. Very good friends. Maybe even best friends. Well… something like that at least. She was nice enough and helped him raise Danny as a mother figure and the two of them hung out a lot. Her room was next to Jason’s so she could be close to Danny but most nights she just crashed in his room. He had an extra bed for her and it was easier to switch out who got up if Danny had an episode in the middle of the night. The two of them had talked about it. It wasn’t like Jason was blind, he knew she was very pretty but he didn’t feel any attraction toward her that went past platonic. She had said she felt the same way and the two of them agreed it would be too weird anyways since he was her brother’s dad. Not many really understood their dynamic but that was okay. It worked for them and Danny.
Jazz came back from the kitchen with a mug of coffee and the coffee pot. She filled Jason’s since it was low and he nodded in thanks. He had told her countless times that Alfred preferred to do that stuff himself but honestly this was just their routine in the morning now. He would get coffee and then she would join him, stealing the coffee pot until they were done with it and it was time to wake Danny for the day.
“I know that… but I don’t know… I worry,” Jason said. He knew it wasn’t a logical fear that he would get hurt. Halfas didn’t get hurt because of mortal causes like metal or, well, a stab wound. Jason may or may not have tested it on himself and sure enough he was also pretty immune. Just needed some ecto and it healed right up with no pain like it never happened.
Jazz just smiled softly, “I know you want him to have a normal childhood. As much as we can give him. But given both of our pasts, I’d say we are far past that. All that matters now is that he gets to experience the things he never got to the first time around.” She was right of course, sipping her coffee lazily.
“Okay yeah… in this family I have seen kids to weirder things. Once we wake up our star for the day, we can tell him he can build his machine. I would just prefer that he had someone with him while he tinkered,” Jason responded. When it came to things like this, he knew that Jazz knew Danny better than he did. She knew him before he was deaged and knew what kinds of things he missed out on.
She smiled at Jason, “You are a good dad Jason. I can see your self doubt in your eyebrows. You are doing just fine.” She rubbed his back comfortingly while the two of them looked at one another, Jason acknowledging that she’s right and that he needed that, Jazz acknowledging his need for comfort. After the moment passed, Jazz left to wake up their little star.
“Well then,” Jason turned his head to see Stephanie indulging in her peanut butter and oreos craving. She was standing next to Tim who had just stolen the coffee pot for himself.
“What now,” Jason asked.
“I just don’t get it is all. She likes you and you like her. And yet you refuse to fuck!” Stephanie shrugged as she shoved more cookie into her face.
Jason simply gestured toward her belly, “I don’t think you get room to talk right now.”
Tim spit out his coffee laughing.
Tim was at the Batcomputer looking over the next case he and B were gonna looking into. It was fun and all but he almost felt like he needed more of a challenge… like… something to do. School was too easy and he ahead already finished the work for the rest of the year. He was even considering starting next year’s work but he was going to have to ask Babs or Tucker to hack to the system into letting his online course end early so he can start the next ones. He could do it himself but he was going to be busy on patrol tonight.
As of right now though? He was playing babysitter so Danny could nerd out on his ecto machine. The “lab” Danny asked for was just a small corner of the Batcave that Danny had set up with an almost kitchen like feel except instead of an island in the center, it was a hunk of metal pieces fused together that made weird noises sometimes. Tim understood the bare bones of what Danny was building, it was a typical filtration system but how it was supposed work with ecto? Not Tim’s area of expertise. He was just there so that if Danny needed help or if something happened, he could call Jason. Nothing had ever happened before and Danny was fully capable of handling it all by himself but it was mostly so Jason wouldn’t have a heart attack.
Tim was pulled out of his thoughts when her heard a swoosh next to his head. “Danny, what did we say about flying in the cave?”
He watched and Danny became visible, his head poking out from behind the massive screen, “Give a warning and don’t touch anything that’s not mine…” Danny said, pouting, “But I have something to tell you Tim!”
Tim thought about this for a moment. Knowing Danny, it was either something interesting, what category of interesting was yet to be seen but Danny wasn’t like normal kids that said things that had no meaning. He could hear Danny out. Now was there a large chance that something very concerning about his past life was about to come up that he couldn’t share with Jason lest his brother have an aneurysm. Tim was willing to roll those dice.
“Okay Spooky, what’s up?” he said.
Danny clapped happily, phasing through the computer to fly right up to Tim’s face, “Stephanie needs your spleen!”
Well… not what Tim was expecting. But it was worth asking about further. At the very least he wanted to know what this child had to say about it before coming to his own conclusions.
“Elaborate?”
Danny laughed, unnervingly happy about this whole thing, “I asked this doctor ghost I know to watch over Stephanie for me! He’s very nice! Told me about how he used to treat Grand-B when he was sick before he died! Anyways, he told me all about Stephanie’s condition and he says that even though most people can live without a spleen, Steph’s blood is kind of weird so living without one isn’t possible for her. She’s having her baby right now upstairs and even though the ghost doctor said that she will okay after giving birth for now, her spleen will eventually finish necrotizing and once enough of it is gone, she will probably die which sucks because she’s going to be a cool mom. Anyways, you’re the only one in the house that is enough of a match that can save her and can also live without your spleen because you’re really healthy! It’ll be super easy though since I’m a ghost, I can do it super quick. Steph might be more liminal after and her eyes might glow sometimes, but that’s okay!”
Tim jumped out of his seat, “She’s having her baby RIGHT NOW?!”
Danny nodded smiling, “Yes! Upstairs! She went into labor really fast so she didn’t have time to go to the hospital.”
Tim shook his head, running toward to the stairs, “Priorities Danny! I promised her I’de be there!” Tim ran as fast as he could into the manor and through the halls.
“Is it because you like her?” Danny asked while flying along side him.
Tim scoffed, “Danny, my wildly inappropriate crush on who’s practically my sister has nothing to do with this!”
Danny’s smile never left his face as he kept flying along at Tim’s side, “It’s okay, I know you like boys too so you can just get a boyfriend and get over her!”
Tim almost halted in his steps but he didn’t, “Danny! Not the time!”
Danny laughed in that spooky way he did sometimes, “Okay!”
Tim kicked Stephanie’s door open and ran to her side, holding her hand, “I’m here! I’m here!”
Steph shot him a glare as she immediately began to squeeze his fingers, “You are late Timothy.”
Tim apologized as the blond began screaming in pain. The only one in the room besides the two of them was Alfred who had decided to deliver the baby himself. Was there anything that guy didn’t know how to do? Steph didn’t seem to be on any pain meds or any sort of epidural so she was muscling her way through this like the women of old, and she was handling it pretty well even though she was screaming bloody murder.
Tim tried his best to be as supportive as possible, telling her to breathe and ignoring her as she cursed him out repeatedly for telling her what to do. She squeezed his fingers tighter than Tim thought was humanly possible, to the point where they actually went numb as she pushed over and over.
There was no doubt that the entire household was just outside the door waiting for news on the baby’s arrival. The birth seemed to take forever as she kept pushing. Tim had read about how sometimes births could take a while so he wasn’t concerned about that, but he was very concerned about how the longer Stephanie pushed, the more color seemed to drain from her face. She looked as though she was starting to lose consciousness, probably from the pain.
Finally, Tim heard the cry of an infant. The baby was born. Tim looked away as Alfred did what he needed to do to prepare the baby for being held and made sure Stephanie didn’t have any tears or bleeding. He felt as she finally let go of his hand. As the feeling came back to his fingers, he was hit with the realization that she had broken 3 of them.
Once Alfred said everything was covered, Tim looked to Stephanie once again, She was covered in sweat and there was almost no color in her face. It was almost deathly pale, making Tim very concerned. He could see her starting to dip out of consciousness. Was that normal? He took her hand again wit h his unbroken one and tried to get a response from her. He didn’t get it.
“Alfred, I think something is wrong,” Tim said, looking to the butler.
“The Ghost Doctor says that she will be okay, she’s just in shock from the pain. But he also says that her immune system is really weak right now and since we aren’t in a hospital, she has a high chance of getting sick,” Tim heard Danny’s voice say as the boy appeared at the foot of the bed.
“Is there anything that can be done about this Young Master Danny?” Alfred said as he finished cleaning the baby and wrapped it into a blanket.
The seven year old nodded, “Ghost Doctor says that if I help, she will stabilize. I think I should take Tim’s spleen now too.”
Tim just nodded. It wasn’t the craziest thing he’s ever heard. This was the Wayne family. Shit was always crazy.
By the early hours of the morning, Stephanie was happily holding her baby girl that she had named Kore. Jason and Jazz were scolding Danny for not sharing information with them but also telling him how proud they were for helping. Bruce was breathing for the first time in hours. Cass was wrapping up Tim’s fingers. Tucker and Sam were on their way to greet the newest addition to the family. And Tim? Had never been happier to lose a spleen.

Character description
TW: a light description of gore, height difference, serial story, murder, description of murder , assault , stabbing knife (reader receives), everything takes place in a criminal Russian city of the 90s .
Tumblr media
Russia, 1990. June 20th. 15:00.
You're sitting at home, and there's a news report on TV in the background...It seems like a few more people were shot this week... hmm, that's weird..This is the 3rd time this month. In general, more than 20 people have already been shot dead.. And a curfew was announced. This was still not enough. Now you'll have to stop your nighttime walks in the park... And it's still hot outside. It was +21° in the afternoon . And you made the right decision - to go buy yourself ice cream and kvass! You put on your sneakers, cap, and went out in what you were wearing-a regular sleeveless T-shirt and black athletic shorts. And of course, not forgetting about the money, you headed towards the store. And since it was already evening, the daytime heat dropped. You went into the store, and after greeting a familiar saleswoman, you bought yourself a simple ice cream from GOST and 0.5 kvass. That's how yours started little walk, drinking kvass and eating cool ice cream. Everything you need in this heat. You finished your ice cream and sat down on a bench, finishing your kvass. But you've been approached by highly anticipated, but at the same time unpleasant, gopnik personalities. There were about 5 of them. And they are not a surprise in your city, perhaps their "relatives" committed those recent murders..
"Hey, dear, do you have a mobile phone? I need to call my mother HAHAHA."
Said one, and then laughed with his group of friends. But after being refused, he abruptly became serious and reached into his pocket. And then, he fished out a knife.. Damn, things are bad. You quickly got up and ran away, but a quick stab in the back caused you to fall with a loud expletive. And just as you were about to get up, you heard a gunshot, screams and screams of other gopnik and saw the body... The body of the bastard who stabbed you in the back...Someone shot him in the head, and part of his brain got on you. His friends started running away in a panic, but they suffered the same fate... Those screams.. The moans of pain and the smell of metal prompted you faint.
Tumblr media
You woke up to someone shaking your shoulders. You opened your eyes, and she was a tall and very masculine woman. Short black hair , tanned skin , strong sinewy arms , countless scars and a red eye . Yes, not the eyes, eye. Because the other one is covered with an bandage like a pirate's. And she smells ... Expensive alcohol, sea, and metal... It 's strange , but it 's so attractive ..
When you got up and more or less came to your senses, you saw an ambulance and a couple of police cars. This woman helped you get up and sat next to you on a bench. And when you felt your back, you felt the bandage. I think you've already received first aid. And soon a policeman came up to you.
"Comrades girls , may I ask what the fuck happened here??"
And then you answered.
"I.. I don't know. I was attacked by some gopniks gang, one of them, as you can see, stabbed me in the back, but someone shot them.. I didn't really see anything myself...."
The policeman grunts with displeasure. And then he speaks again . But this time he's talking to the woman next to you. By the way , she looked about 40 years old . but she looked amazing... Stop stop stop. What are you talking about...?? She's old enough to be your mother. But we digress.
"And you, did you see something?"
" I only came up when this girl was unconscious, and these boys were already dead. Unfortunately, I can't help you. "
And your "interrogation" continued for a long time, and finally you were released. But this woman, as it turned out, her name is Gaetana Gati, an Italian and a former medic, volunteered to escort you.
" Just a second, I need to buy something at the store, can you please wait? "
You just nod and sit down on the bench. Hopefully, the same situation that happened recently won't happen again. And soon she returns , handing you a bar of chocolate , a bag of oranges , and a pack of imported coffee ... And it all looked so expensive...
" Here you go. I can only guess what an emotional shock this is for you. You . You're a young girl with her whole life ahead of her. Take it, don't be modest.. "
No matter how much you denied it, but Gaetana, having escorted you to your apartment, still gave you these "gifts" and wished you a good day and left. It was already 19:00, and the curfew was about to start , and you decided to go to bed. After all, so much has happened today that words cannot describe in a week. And Gaetana is, you're kind of attracted to her... And it scares you. And with such thoughts, you went to bed and fell asleep almost immediately .

The first couple of times that you and your friends went to the lake, no one else was there. After you sent a letter by owl, the marauders and company started coming. You didn’t want to take advantage of James’ hospitality. At the end of the day, this was quite literally his home. They could use the lake if they wanted to. So while sometimes you staggered times, most days your friend group and the marauders simply took to separate sides of the lake.
It was mildly pathetic — Remus and Sirius were aware — that they just stared at you when you and your friends weren't looking but they couldn't help it. Your bathing suits left very little to the imagination. Honestly, sometimes they were sure that you were just using your underwear as a swimsuit. This was one of those times. You slowly came out of the water, drying yourself off with a large fluffy towel.
"I have to go guys. I promised to come in early and help close the store after my book signing."
"Good luck. We'll be the first in line when it's time."
With a laugh, you gave them a wave before heading back inside the cottage to get ready for work. You had finished your book before graduation, with nothing but time thanks to the sudden loneliness you had found yourself in. It had been picked up by an agent relatively quickly and a publisher even quicker than that. And now it was officially out. Ever since the marketing for your book came out the bookstore saw a new light. You weren't sure if you were going to reach bestseller status but at least the bookstore saw customers daily now. And from what you could tell, the pre-order numbers weren't bad.
Only half an hour after you left, Max also got out of the water to go run a few errands. He probably didn't need to leave this early but he wanted to make sure that he and the rest of your friends were in fact the first in line for your signing. He could have apparated to a closer spot near Gringotts but chose to pass by the bookstore instead, chuckling when he saw you promptly reach to change the radio station.
The marauders had been finding some success with their band. They weren't huge and they weren't even sure if they were going to continue it professionally past university but it was fun for now. You, however, had a strict rule that no songs by Mischief Managed were ever allowed to be played while you were on shift.
With the scariest of your friends gone for the better half of the morning, Remus and Sirius found an opportunity to pounce. For once in his life, the raven-haired man kept his mouth shut and let his boyfriend do all the talking. Remus wanted to shrink under the gaze of your friends. They weren't nearly as scary as Max and he was a good bit taller than all of them yet three pairs of eyes focused on him was still fairly intimidating. Pamola, Jace, and Tilda all exchanged glances as they listened to Remus' ramblings. At some point, they weren't even sure what he was going on about anymore.
Pamola finally cut him off. "We'll be at your place for tea in twenty minutes. We can talk then."
They would have thought Remus just one the lottery with how bright he smiled. He and Sirius practically ran back to the main house on Potter Estate to get the sunroom ready. Obviously, they still had to apologize to you but they were more than aware they had to get through your friends first. They didn't have to be liked but Remus and Sirius needed to be tolerated enough to not have all their attempts blocked.
The sunroom looked nice. Pamola, Jace, and Tilda had to admit as they sat down. Sirius was a perfect gentleman as he prepared their tea to each person's liking, continuing to let Remus take the lead. There was much less flustered bumbling this time. Pamola and Matilda put on their best mean glares while Jace motioned for the two men to sit down.
"Do you know why we, especially Max, have been so hostile towards you?"
"Because you're good friends?"
He chuckled. "At least you understand the concept of flattery, Lupin. No, we're this way because she won't be. Garden nymphs are loyal to a fault. So are wood nymphs. Trees and gardens don’t move. They don’t flow with the wind but stay firm. She’s only two generations of wizard. Ancient bloodline of nymphs. She doesn’t know how to leave until that wizard side kicks in.”
Pamola took a sip of her tea. “She’s been hurt before with other friends. Stayed longer than she should have. Y/N was hurt pretty badly by the whole thing.”
“What happened?”
“Nymphs are nature so they are very comfortable with a lack of clothing.”
“Yeah, we’ve noticed,” Remus said with a laugh. It would be impossible not to be aware at this point.
“She trusted them. Made a little grove in the woods on school grounds and everything. Finally showed them a place where she could just be herself. They went swimming in the river and took pictures of her. Everyone wanted to see what a nymph looked like under her clothes.”
Matilda huffed. “They cut her face out of the pictures and convinced her that it was okay. Just an accident. No one outside of school could tell but we only have two student nymphs and the other one is a guy. Everyone at Ilvermorny knew it was her.”
“They did that?”
She nodded. “And she was still friends with them for another three months until we got her to be with us instead. Gardens don’t leave when their tillers stop tending to them. They just stay where they are until they wither. Nymphs are the same. Just be nice to her a few times and you’ve got the garden in your hands. She loves until it destroys her.”
“She never told us.”
“Of course not.” Jace sat back in his chair. “Look, it’s nothing against you, even before this shit happened she still wouldn’t have told. It accidentally gets out and everyone’s trying to be her friend or get with her while knowing they can treat her like shit and she won’t stop them.”
Sirius scratched the back of his head, looking up to try and prevent tears from welling in his eyes. It probably took a lot of courage and effort for you to tell him off those times. Even though it ruined your friendship, he was really proud of you for doing so. He sniffled a bit before looking back at your friends.
“Who’s the other nymph? If you don’t mind me asking.”
“Me,” Jace said, his ears turning pointed at the tips. “Nymphs stick together. I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t protect Y/N. Look, you two have been decent ever since we've been here. Come after her book signing but don't expect us to help you if she doesn't want to talk to you."
Remus and Sirius nodded with the utmost sincerity. All they wanted was a chance to talk you again. They truly weren't expecting anything else no matter how badly they were hoping for it. Was it torture waiting for the clock to read 6pm? Absolutely. But the marauders weren't going to risk messing anything up by arriving even a second too early.
You smiled in satisfaction as you packed up the little sign in the window that had announced the book signing. Even though he didn't work there, Max stayed behind for a little bit to help you clean up. Like expected, the crowd wasn't going for miles down the road but it was enough people to fill up the store. And that was more than good enough for you. You briefly paused your wiping down of tables when you heard the bell on the store's front entrance chime.
"Hello, welcome to Pages in Bloom. Feel free to look around but it's Sunday so we do close in twenty minutes. Be right wit—.” You paused at seeing the marauders and company.
James and Peter held up multiple bags. “We brought wine to celebrate the debut.”
Max slung an arm around your shoulder, staring them down. Sirius recognized that look. The one fiercely protective of a friend. The one that threatened everyone around because he had to pick up the pieces and would be damned if someone else came in to shatter your heart again.
“Do you want me to kick them out?” he whispered against your shoulder.
“No, I'll be fine. And you have a date, don't want to miss it."
They knew they had no right but Sirius and Remus breathed out sighs of relief at confirmation that he wasn’t your boyfriend.
“You sure?”
You nodded. Max walked past the group without saying a word, shoulder checking Sirius who just let it happen. To say there was tension would be the understatement of a century. Quietly, wine bottles were opened and poured into glasses. Congratulations and rave reviews fell from everyone's lips. You politely thanked them back. But no one seemed able to move past pleasantries and address anything deeply. You had a sense that maybe they were avoiding do so, waiting for something or someones, judging by the way they kept glancing over at your ex and his partner. Eventually, the sun started to set and the others slowly began filing out. Remus and Sirius stayed seated.
You preemptively poured another glass of wine, fearing you might need it. Remus gladly took the bottle from you when it was offered and poured himself the largest amount he could muster. He ran a hand through his hair before settling it to rest on the table.
"Firstly, before we say anything else, we want to apologize. Y/N, I'm sorry, truly."
You listened intently as Sirius echoed his sentiments. They didn't mince words, directly apologizing for what they did wrong rather than trying to be vague about it. And they didn't make excuse after excuse either.
"And I know we're in no position to make requests," Sirius started. "But we'd like to start over with you. Well, Moony would. I'd like to be given a chance to simply start something. If you'll have the both of us, that is."
The glass of wine in your hands felt heavy as you traced your finger along the rim. It wasn't a mattered of if you wanted them. Sirius' flirtatious nature wasn't something you were immune to. Remus' nice personality drew you in the first time. And both of them were more than pleasing to the eye. So the problem wasn't if you wanted them. It was should you let yourself want them.
“I don’t want another broken heart,” you admitted. “You hurt me, Remus. You really did.”
“I know. But we promise that you won’t have another broken heart.”
“I want to believe you but I can’t. I’m sorry.”
“Is there any way we can fix this? Any inkling of a small possibility you’ll allow us to fix this?”
You finally looked at them. “I would love for this to work. You’re both really nice and care for your friends and love each other dearly. I’d love that, to be a part of that. But I don’t think it’ll work. It’s the Remus and Sirius show. No room for other actors.”
“It’s not. It won’t be. We promise.”
Sirius started to reach for your hand but thought better of it. "Let us prove it. We're not asking for anything right now but when uni starts can you at least close off your dating schedule? Pencil us in for all the slots… or at least half of them?"
You nodded ever so slightly. Semi-exclusivity was something you were willing to give them.

Bad News
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Tumblr media
You and Satoru emailed each other since you got to Korea, but soon, years came along, and you both grew apart from each other, and contact became nothing.
Satoru sat down on the bench, eating his popsicle waiting as he waited for his friends to leave the store to get their things.
You still wonder in his mind every now and then, but he would be busy with things like curses and other matters in Jujutsu school.
"Satoru!!" Geto said with a smile at his best friend. Satoru only smiled, jumping up from his seat only to wave with a huge smile on his face.
"Suguru!" He yelled, skipping at his best friend. Geto only smiled at his six eyes, friend.
They became friends since the year they both started jujitsu, at the age of 15, now 17. They are now waiting for Shoko to come out as they talked about certain things about what they should do.
The day went well with the trio having fun roaming around Tokyo, meeting up with Nanaim and Haibara for even more fun.
"We should definitely go to an amusement park tomorrow!" Satoru mentioned as he spin walking ahead of the group.
"You got the money then?" Shoko asked, Satoru only shrugged at the answer."I'm taking that as a yes, " she mumbled as they caught up to Gojo.
Later that night, Satoru was in his room eating strawberry ice cream. He stumbled into the news a woman outside in front of a house.
He couldn't make out if it was another house or yours. "Tonight in 4wind news, we received an unknown deaths of two couples of the age of 40s." She paused. It made Satoru blood go cold.
He wanted to know who those couple are, he stare deeply in the television. "Unknow markings and wounds all over the bodies," she spoke, showing two bodies being carried out into a hospital truck.
"We received information on the victims' names...Ji and Tadashi L/n are the lovely people we truly lost today... goodnight," the channel changed into a commercial about shampoo.
Satoru was stunned about this information. He quickly got up from his bed, leaving his dorm to go to his parents' home.
He couldn't run all the way over there. He took his bike and began to hurry his way to the place he grew up in.
It was long, his leg began to grow tired. But he didn't care. His mind wondered back to you, wonder how you would take this news.
He finally made it to his home, pushing the doors open. He heard cries from the living room, and he followed the noise, finding his mom on the floor in his father arms.
"Mom..." She heard it and looked up seeing her grown child watch her cry. She wiped her tears away, sitting up to hug her son.
"I'm sorry, Satoru...their gone," she mumble, he held his mom as she stumbled over to him.
He couldn't believe it, especially knowing you were gone almost 8 years now since he last saw you.
"It's okay, mom," he mumbled, holding his mom as she cried once more.
※。.:*:・'°☆
In the morning, Satoru stayed home, keeping his parents' companion before he left to meet his friend.
"Poor Y/n, she must be devastated to know the news." Saturo mom mumbled, feeling pitty for the girl. You had no idea your parents died.
"Calm down, dear," his father said, holding his wife hand. Satoru didn't say much, only ate his food.
He didn't know how much you changed, back in Korea you didn't have time to think about home.
Missions were getting tougher by the time. One minute, you were lower 2nd class now, your middle 1st class.
"Rin!!" You yelled, holding your toothbrush. The half-demon boy strik as he heard his name across the building.
"I'm going to kill you!!" You yelled as you ran towards Rin in full speed. He panic and started to run away from you.
"L-look, I'm sorry!" He yelled, running away for his life. He knew you were upset about finishing your toothpaste.
"I told you not to use my toothpaste!!" You sneer at the half-demon. He got on his knees and begged for your forgiveness.
You only grumbled at his actions. You find it better sharing a room with a stranger than with the Okumura brothers, especially a whole building.
You only stick your tongue out before you walk away. "Stuck up half-demon," you mumble. He only sighed, relief to stay alive.
You never saw a problem in Rin when you found out he is the son of Satan. You treated him normally like everyone else.
But some of the students seem to have a problem with it.
You sigh after getting ready for the day, making your way to the dining area. "Good morning, Ukobaku," you said, smiling at the cooking demon, who prepared breakfast for the day.
The demon gave you a smile and spoke in his language, telling you hello and good morning.
"Looks delicious" you mumble eating your rice and meat that he had prepared for you.
"Hey! Don't eat without us!" Yukio said as the two brothers made their way to their chairs
"Wonderful like always." Ukobaku only blushed at your compliments. He always did when you said something.
"She only says that because she wants you to like her." Rin murmur, glaring at you. You only rolled your eyes.
"Ukobaku is a way better cook than you," you sneer at Rin. You both started to bicker at each other with Yukio trying to enjoy his food.
"Would you both quit it!" He finally said, yelling at the both of you. You both stayed silent as you continued to eat your food in pace.
"Thank you for the meal," you all three said, making your way out the kitchen biding byes to Ukobaku.
"Man, exams are soon...Rin make sure to study!" Yukio warned his twin brother. You only giggled at the sight of it.
"Hey! Why do I have to be bossed at? What about Y/n?!" He yelled, looking at you with a glare and then towards his younger brother.
"Because Ms.L/n here is passing all her classes unlike you," you laughed at Rin, which cause him to chase you around until both of you made it to the campus zone.
Yukio sighs at the sight of it. He could burley handle the both of you being buddies, buddies with each other, or at each other necks the next.
You took your classes since you were higher Ap classes like Yukio. "Ms.L/n, sir Faust would like to meet with you," one of your teacher said, "You only bow, knowledging their words before making your way to the supervisor office.
You wonder what Sir Mephisto wanted with you. The only times you spoke is when you transfer here, and when he moved you up class to a middle 1st, then like your other classmates, a middle 2nd.
Knocking on the door waiting for Mephisto to let you in. "Come in, dear," you heard the demon mumble.
You walked inside, shutting the door behind you. "Take a seat. Would you like any tea or something to drink?" He asked, being more nicer to you than usual.
"No, I'm okay," you mumble. He eyed you for a while before he spoke up.
"It looks like I can finally adopt you as my own." You were confused but caught on to his words.
"M-my parents? How?" You held your hands together, worried what he might say next.
"Yes indeed, they passed so suddenly...don't you say," he mumble, spinning around his rolled chair.
you were scared, you wanted to cry but held it all in. "How?" You only asked again, looking at the director in the eyes.
"I would say it wasn't ordinary death," he mumbled as he pulled out a folder of papers. "You may do what you like about it...I will grant you to investigate this, but your classmates would have to tag along...an exorcists don't work alone," he pointed at you.
Handing you the folder as you took them, not wanting to open them right away. "Be careful, I would like my adoptive daughter to be safe." he smiled, and you only chuckled, hoping he meant it as a joke about adopting you.
You made your way out. You were scared knowing this might be true. "It's a joke," you mumble, seeing your tears hit the folder.
You wiped them away, taking a breath before heading to your room. Skipping classes today might be the best for you, even cram school, too.
"If so...it's in my hands now," you mumble, looking at the folder too, afraid to open it to see all the details and photos on your parents.

⠀⠀⠀ ࣪⠀⠀𓏵⠀⠀ ׅ 7592 (𝑗𝑢𝑚𝑝𝑠𝑡𝑦𝑙𝑒 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑦𝑙𝑖𝑠𝑡). ⠀⠀ྀ
⠀⠀⠀⠀♰⠀ 𓈒 ⠀𝑚𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑐 (🇧🇦/𝑓𝑜𝑙𝑘 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑦𝑙𝑖𝑠𝑡).⠀ ノ⠀𝑡𝑥𝑡 (🇯🇵 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑦𝑙𝑖𝑠𝑡). ✙
it were the afternoon, you and Logan hanging out. he had a mission to look out for, while you were kicking back and relaxing.
you sat on the couch, phone in hand. there wear earphones in your ears, and the music were turned up so you couldn't hear anything. Logan stood infront of the mirror on the wall a few feet away, back turned to you. he were grooming himself, making sure his kitty ears were in tact. he couldn't help but slow down when he began to hear the music coming from your phone. this again. his eyes narrowed, as he caught a glimpse of your sitting form in the mirror. he's told you countless times not to turn up the volume too loud, how you'd go deaf. but, you never learned.
"that oughta give you a headache." he called out, continuing to groom himself. fully expecting a response, not knowing you couldn't hear him. after none came, he stopped and called out to you again. maybe you were ignoring him, not wanting to listen to 'ole Logan and his old wives tales. "I ain't saying you can't do what you're doing, but I also ain't denying there'll be consequences in store for you." again, no response. he turned around in your direction to look at you, seeing you on your phone. what could possibly be preventing you from answering him?
you'd have the scare of your life when Logan suddenly towered over you. "Logan!" you nearly shrieked, throwing your phone and hitting him square in the face. "you- you're going to give me a damn heart attack." he chuckled, you pulling your earphones out of your ears and tossing them aside. "well, princess. being distracted doesn't exactly help prevent that from happening."
he stood up and grabbed your phone that landed beside you on the couch. "called out to you twice, and you ain't responded once. there ain't nothin' important on this phone to prevent you from talking." then, he smirked. "I don't suppose, you're crushing on the latest celebrity?"
you didn't exactly calm down, a small blush appearing on your cheeks while you shook lightly. "I'm just teasin'," he'd speak before you had the chance to answer, reaching out and ruffling your hair.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀── ⟢ ・⸝⸝
a few minutes go by. Logan's sitting next to you, scrolling thru your phone. "so... I noticed you had your earphones on you." he glanced at you sideways. "mind telling me what's going on there?"
you shifted uncomfortably. you didn't like being confronted, especially when it came to your secret interests. "uh... nothing." you shifted a bit to the side, turning away from him. "it's nothing."
it seemed as though you were preparing to leave. so, he grabbed ahold of you.
"nothin' ain't cuttin' it, princess." he sneered, the smugness present in his tone. ugh. it were hard putting up with him sometimes. you released a sigh, plopping back onto the couch like jello.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀...
as he continued to browse thru your phone, he managed to come across a music app. you waited patiently to have your phone returned, arms crossed over your chest.
"chizutorimack?.." he had a good look at the name, as well as the icon itself. you thought nothing of it, paying him no attention.
until you heard the app open, a soft chime coming to life. your eyes widened, head slowly turning in his direction. you knew right then and there, you couldn't let this man proceed.
"give me back my phone!" with a now demanding tone, you attempted to wrestle the phone out of his hands, failing miserably as he managed to block your small form. you sat back, crossing your arms over your chest as you stared at him like a hawk.
"easy now, princess." his eyes remained glued to your phone screen, beginning to read off what he saw in the app. "7592, music, txt... heh. well, I never took my princess for a music enthusiast." he looked over at you, a small smile playing on his lips. you released an annoyed breath, hair getting into your eyes. atleast you could lie more thoroughly with an attitude.
"firstly," you began, tucking the hair behind your ear. "you really need to keep your claws off what's not yours." you swatted at your phone to get it back, but he simply smiled, raising his arm higher into the air. how he loved to tease you. "and second, it's not a music app. I. . . that's just where I get my inspiration from. for every day life."
he saw right thru your bullshit. "I think I could take you up on that offer, princess." he reached over for the earphones that were still plugged into the phone. "you let old Logan here get a taste of what the common folk listen to, and I'll return your phone. how does that sound?"
terrible. your heart began to pick up. the judgement is going to be absolutely unreal. "u-uhm, actually... there's swearing. and themes of sex and violence."
he simply fanned his hand at you. he's well over 200 years old, and has definitely seen a lot worse. "y' know, I do need to brush up on my own collection. after all, a mutant needs to keep himself busy when he's not always around the house." he put in one earpod, before doing the same with the other. "go on, princess. what album do you recommend I listen to, first?"
you hesitated. usually, you'd keep these things to yourself, locked away from the world. but, with Logan... there were never a day where he seemed uncurious. so, you chose your favorite playlist that you created, albeit in a very shy manner.
"u-um... try the 7592 playlist."
in the end, he loved it. the other 2 playlists, including. so much so, he constantly kept your phone on him days at a time so he could keep himself in the mood. maybe it's time to put a passcode on the lockscreen?

Spoil me
Noel Gallagher x fem!actress!reader
Summary: Noel takes her out to go shopping after he finished up his new album.
Warnings: fluffy, angst, swearing, (this is part four to a series, can be read as a standalone though)
Wordcount: 0.8k
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Masterlist
Tumblr media
Sitting on the sofa, switching between the different programs on the telly, she bore herself to death. Wishing for Noel to get out of his little home studio and entertain her in one way or another.
Just as she switched back to the news and groaning when they showed the same thing as a week prior, she heard the door to Noel’s studio opening. The man walking out with a grin on his face as he stepped over to her and kissed her before telling her, “get ready, we’re going out.”
“What? Where are we going?” She asked, although already standing up and walking to the closet to change out of her joggers.
“I just finished the album, and we’re gonna celebrate a little,” he said, pulling her closer in the middle of the stairs. Looking happier than ever before.
“You just finished it? That’s great, Noel. I told you, you shouldn’t pressure yourself. It’ll be great, I can feel it.” Throwing her arms around his shoulders, Noel chuckled into her neck.
“Darling, you’ve already heard every song beside the last one.”
“Still, I’ve never heard it fully. Front to back,” she insisted before continuing her way up.
“So, where are we going? How should I dress?” She asked, flicking through her rows of clothes. Looking over the stacks of tops and bottoms. Trying to remember what looked good together.
“Casual’s alright. It’s nothing too crazy,” Noel shrugged, a smile spreading on his face as he saw the glimmer of curiosity lingering in her eyes.
“Casual my ass,” she muttered as she found herself in front of the Chanel Store. Looking down the road she could make out all kinds of high fashion logos and Noel standing next to her with an excited smile on his face.
“C’mon let’s go.” He urged her inside, pulling her from the space where she seemed to be stuck in inside the store.
“Why do you seem more excited than me?” She asked with a giggle as she saw him looking at her again.
“Let’s just let me spoil you for once, love,” he insisted, walking further inside.
The whole day was spent with spending money. His money. Even when she would insist on buying something he’d have his card out faster than her already paying for a new dress or shoes or a bag.
“I can’t believe you,” she muttered as they walked out of the last store, for the first time registering just how many bags Noel was carrying for her. “You’re insane.”
“Darling, I’m not the one with expensive taste.” A familiar smirk crept on his lips.
“Right,” she said, pulling him into a kiss to make it disappear from his face. “Liam’s the one buying Gucci parkas.”
“He’s a slut for anything half decent,” Noel insisted as they walked back to the car.
Putting the bags in the trunk and climbing inside, Noel looked at her in the driver seat.
“You know we have a driver, right? You don’t always have to drive everywhere.” Looking at her like he was unsure if this was new information he just dumped on her.
Though the bored look on her face told him otherwise as she checked the rear view.
“I like driving, is that a crime?” She asked, pulling out of the parking lot and onto the busy streets of London.
“No, not at all. Was just wondering if you knew,” he said, raising his hands in surrender and laughing at her tone.
“I know and I don’t care.”
Opening the door to their house, they were both packed fully. Designer bags hanging from their arms, laughing as they stumbled through the door after Noel almost didn’t get it open.
Letting them rest by the entrance for now, they both sank down on the sofa rather messily. Legs tangled together and breaths heavy from the ‘work-out’.
“Why do you not like me spoiling you?” Noel broke the silence first, looking over at her.
“It’s not like I don’t like it, I just- I don’t know,” she answered, rolling over and laying her head on his chest.
“I think you do know, darling.” His fingers gently moved through her hair, a gentle sigh of contempt leaving her lips as she closed her eyes.
“I feel like a gold-digger of some sorts if you pay for all my stuff. I just don’t want you to feel like I’m using you.”
“I’m not.” He gently leaned down, leaving a kiss on the top of her head. His lips lingering on her hair for a second longer. “Don’t worry, I’m not thinking that.”
Grateful for the reassurance, she nodded her head. Though her eyes always trailed over to the bags by the door and the uneasy feeling came back more intense with every glance their way.

Hello there! 👋I had this idea in my head for a while. The detective decides it's better to leave Gotham and Edward manages to convince her to stay by admitting his feelings for her. If you have the inspiration to write something like this I would be more than happy to read it😍🥺🥺
Your works are all amazing and I can't wait to read more❤️❤️
Don't Leave Me
Tumblr media
Summary: You try to leave Gotham, but Edward stops you just in time.
Word Count: 2.3k
Content Warning: Spoilers for the end of Arc I of Cat & Mouse.
A/N: My dear @vas17sblog, I have to sincerely apologize for the fact that this ask has been sitting in my inbox since July. 💀 I am literally the worst. I'd always intended to answer this since I felt it fit better after the events of Arc I, but damn, I'm so sorry this took me months to get to. Please forgive me!!!
I also had a request to use the prompt "Don't leave me. Not like this" from an anon, which I combined into this request!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was snowing.
Soft flurries came down from the sky, threatening to coat Gotham in a blanket of white. One bag was clutched tight to your side, the strap digging into your shoulder. The bus stop around you was quiet, not a soul in sight, as cars drove past on the icy roads. You reached into your pocket and pulled out the ticket for Metropolis, gazing at it for a long moment, before stuffing it back into your pocket, the paper rough against your fingertips.
The movers were already at your apartment. You’d let them in, instructed them to pack everything into boxes, and that was that. You couldn’t bear to do it yourself. You didn’t want to see all of your things, belongings you love, stuffed away into boxes and hauled into the back of a truck. You’d already rented a place in Metropolis. Hadn’t even cared to look at anything more than a few photos online. Hadn’t cared that the rent was high. The truth was that you just wanted out of this fucking city, and you were willing to pay a high price to get out. Everywhere you looked, your memories were plagued with all that happened with Beau and the rest of the GCPD. His words remained a constant echo in your mind, gnawing at your soul, ripping it to shreds. Ripping it right from your marrow and stabbing into your very flesh. When you closed your eyes, you saw his smug face. In the dead of night, you heard his voice. Saw Archer’s dead eyes staring back at you. The brand on your skin was still healing, and you itched at the skin around it almost absent-mindedly, like a new bad habit. A habit you couldn’t shake.
This decision hadn’t come lightly. You’d spent hours thinking about what you could do, how you could just get out of Gotham and leave everything behind. The truth was that you needed a fresh start. You need something else – something but the pain and agony rippling through you. Something more than the suffering, more than the pain. You didn’t know what you were going to do, or what Metropolis had in store, but getting out of here…it was the only thing you knew what to do right now. The only thing you wanted.
Edward didn’t know. He couldn’t know. You’d written him a letter and dropped it off at the GCPD, and asked for the receptionist to deliver it to him. By the time he read and came looking for you, you would be long gone. And he couldn’t follow you out of the city, not without risking his parole. He would be made. He would be furious…but he wouldn’t understand, wouldn’t he? He knew what you’d been through, seen it with his own two eyes. He had to understand…but he didn’t have a choice. You’d made your choice.
Tears pricked your eyes, but you blinked them away, squeezing your eyes shut as you shivered against the cold. Where was the damn bus? It should’ve been here by now. Should’ve—
“Detective.”
His voice.
Your eyes snapped open and you turned around in time to find Edward standing there, his eyes wide, his cheeks and nose tinged pink from the chill. Soft flurries of white fell into his hair and onto his shoulders.
“Edward…” you whispered, panic rippling through you. How did he find you?
“What do you think you’re doing?” he asked, his voice rough, eyes narrowed.
“Didn’t you read my note?”
“Of course I did. Every damn word. Twice.” His lips curled back in a scowl. You recognized this look – just how mad he was.
You averted your gaze, a lump forming in your throat, as you glanced both ways down the quiet, still streets. Headlights from passing cars flashed in your eyes.
“It’s not coming,” he said. “I hacked into the bust depot station ad changed the route.”
“What?” you asked, turning back to him. “Why would you do that?”
“And why would you do this?” he demanded, yanking the note out of his pocket, shaking it in his white-knuckled grip. He took a step closer, redness crawling up his throat. “Why would you – I thought – I…” His words trailed off.
“It’s easier this way, Edward,” you said, your voice holding no warmth to it.
He scoffed. “Easier? For who? For you? Because from where I’m standing, it looks like you’re running, my dear.”
“I’m trying to get away from all of this. From Gotham. Don’t you get that?”
“Are you trying to get away from Gotham? Or from me?” he asked, raising his brows.
His words were like a slap in the face. You stepped back, blinking, your lips twisting into a scowl that matched his own…but maybe there was some truth to what he was saying. Some truth to the reality in which you were trying so hard to avoid.
“I…” the words lodged in your throat.
He took a step closer. “Don’t leave me. Not like this.”
The pain in his voice was raw and real. It was full of everything that made your heart shatter into a million pieces, breaking apart and shattering your very soul. Tears welled behind your eyes as your mouth fell agape, all words dying on your tongue.
“Edward…” you murmured. “I can’t stay here. I can’t—”
“Please,” he whispered, his hands shooting out to capture your face in his hands, his skin warm against your cheeks. Tears spilled from your eyes, and he wiped them away.
“Please don’t run away,” he said. “Not from me. Not from this damn city. Please.”
You squeezed your eyes shut, tilting your head slightly into his hand. You’d been so firm in your decision, so adamant about it, so desperate to get out of here and keep everything a secret from Edward – because you still couldn’t look at him. This was the first time you’d seen him in person in weeks, and this was exactly why you’d never wanted to see him in the first place – because seeing him reignited all those feelings inside of you, that aching warmth in your heart.
And now you were questioning everything all over again.
“I can’t,” you whispered, voice trembling.
“Yes, you can,” he pleaded. “You’re strong. You’re not a coward.”
“But I’m so scared,” you whispered. You were terrified of what the future held, of what was going to happen next. It clawed up your throat and made itself known, shedding your skin and burrowing its way inside.
“I know,” he said. “But don’t let your fears control you. Don’t let it consume you.”
“Aren’t you afraid?” you asked, opening your eyes again to find him staring down at you, towering over you, his body heat enveloping you.
“No,” he said. “Not as long as I have you.”
You scoffed under your breath. “I have to go, Edward.”
“No,” he said, firmer this time. “I refuse to let you run.”
You looked away, back at the quiet streets. A thousand questions raced through your mind, but you weren’t sure what to ask of him or how to make sense of this. How were you supposed to move on? To go on after everything that happened? To walk these streets and pretend that nothing happened to you?
You met his gaze, hardened, his jaw set tight. His hands still cupped your face, wiping away the tears that continued to roll down your cheeks. But the longer you stared at him, the more the heartache in your chest only grew. God – this is exactly why you’d never wanted to see him: because standing here with him reignited all of your feelings and reminded you just how much you wanted to stay with him, to stay in the city you called home.
“After everything we’ve been through…why would you do this to me?” he asked.
“I’m not trying to hurt you,” you said. “I just—”
“Don’t you get it, detective? How much I care about you? How much I need you in my life?” he asked. “And if you leave, I’ll…” He shook his head, as if he couldn’t get the words out.
You looked away again, words dying on your tongue. His words were a knife in your stomach, twisting and twisting, pulling your soul from your body and stomping on it.
“Detective,” he said again, pulling your eyes to him again. “If you get on that bus, you’re not just leaving Gotham. You’re leaving me. And I cannot sit here and watch you disappear from my life. I won’t let it happen.”
“Edward…”
“I won’t let you run from this. From me. From us,” he said.
Your jaw fell open slightly, your vision blurring from the tears. “But I’m so fucking scared, Edward,” you whispered.
He exhaled a shaky breath, his grip tightening on your face, as if he feared you would slip away the second he let go. His blue eyes burned holes into your own. The soft flurries increased a little, melting on yours and his warm skin.
“I know you’re scared,” he said, his voice unsteady. “I know, because I am, too. Every single day, I wake up terrified that I’ll lose you. That you’ll decide I’m not worthy of you anymore, that one day, you’ll come to your sense and realize I’ve just been a waste of your time. That one day, you’ll wake up and realize you’re better off without me. And now…now you’re proving that fear right.”
Your throat tightened. “Edward…”
“No,” he said, shaking his head, his eyes burning with anger. “You need to listen to me. You need to get it through that thick skull of yours, through that tiny mind I love so much, that if you walk away, if you get on that bus, I swear, I’ll never be the same again.”
“Edward—”
“Listen, detective,” he said again, firmer this time. “Gotham has been nothing but a warzone for me. A place I wanted to prove myself better than the rest of the idiots he walk these streets. A place where I’ve had to run and fight and manipulate to survive. I fought for control, to conquer, to ruin. And then you…” He shook his head, scoffing. “And then you had the audacity to walk into my life. “To make me feel something for you that I’ve never felt for someone else. To make me feel things I didn’t even think I was capable of feeling. And I don’t give one damn about the rest of the city, or the GCPD, or anyone else. You are the only thing I care about.”
His voice dropped into a low whisper. “Detective, I…”
Your breath hitched in your throat, the tears continuing to fall, trembling in his arms now as he pulled you closer, his breath a soft mist against your own skin.
“I don’t know what will become of me if you leave,” he continued after a moment. “I don’t know how I’ll just go on with my sorry, miserable life. You are the only thing that makes my life bearable. The only thing that keeps my reform something I want to work for – to be better for you. If I have to beg, I will. If I have to kneel in this damn snow and swear my life to you, I’ll do it. But please, for the love of God, do not get on that bus. Stay with me. Please.”
The weight of his words crashed over you like a tidal wave. His hands trembled, his breathing grew uneven, as if every part of him clung to you. Like the moment he let go, he would shatter completely, the pieces of him broken all across the snow. His gaze was unwavering, determined, filled with that look you loved so much, his blue eyes only drawing you further and further in. Your chest tightened painfully, like someone was squeezing your heart in their fist. Your own breath hitched in your throat, more tears streaming down your cheeks, which he only wiped away without hesitation.
In the quiet, you heard the deep rumbling of a bus down the road. You finally tore your eyes from his and looked away just in time to see the bus come to a rolling stop by the sign. The doors opened, lights bright and flashing, headlights illuminating the flurries in the snow.
“Please,” Edward whispered again. “Stay. Stay with me.”
His words crackled something to life inside of you, breaking through the walls you’d formed around your fragile heart. He was laying everything out, every vulnerable piece of himself, begging you not to leave…and God, how could you walk away from this? From him?
“I don’t know how I’m supposed to stay here,” you whispered.
“Then we’ll figure it out together,” he said without hesitation.
“You’re impossible, Edward Nigma,” you whispered. “You’re so selfish.”
“Selfish for you,” he replied, his lips curving into that smug smile you loved so much.
You shook your head, but pain rippled through you – but a sob tore from your throat, and before you could think, you threw your arms around him, burying yourself in his warmth. He clutched to you just as tightly, his arms wrapping around you, his breath in your hair, at your cheek, as he trembled against you.
“Please don’t leave,” he whispered, his lips brushing against your temple. “I don’t give a damn about this city. But you…you are the only thing that has ever felt real.”
Your fingers dug into the fabric of his coat, holding onto him like he was a life vest. The bust doors closed as it pulled away, continuing on its route. The ticket in your pocket was meaningless now. Because, deep down, you knew the truth: he had become everything to you. And even though you could leave Gotham, you could never leave him.
And maybe that was enough.

"I know, I know that things have been getting in the way when we kept trying to make an effort to go to the one you usually frequent." He walked in with him as he began to watch as Atem looked around at the place.
"I was wanting to go with you too, I've been wanting to do more painting with you, if you would allow me to join you sometime in your studio again." Though he would understand if Atem didn't wish for him to enter that room a lot. He knew that was his space and a place for him to be express feelings he couldn't get out often.
"Though, I do understand if you wish to not have anyone in your studio often considering its your special place." He didn't want him to think that he couldn't keep some paintings he didn't want Roy to see to himself.
He gazed at some of the art supplies that he was tempted on buying someday soon. Maybe he could get his own painting set to use and paint with. That would be another day, though. This was about Atem for now.
He saw that big smile on Atem's face. He knew that he had made the right decsion to bring him here. He knew it would make his day ten times more better.
Tumblr media
"Well, now that has changed. We finally got a chance to do this." He smiles softly. He walks beside him and looks down at him. "Yeah, it's pretty new. I think it opened a few weeks ago, actually. I saw it on my way home. I thought you would enjoy it because it has two of your favorite things to do." His smile widening, he was so happy to see that smile on his face.
"If you wish to buy something I'll pay for it for you."
Tumblr media
"..."
Atem was beside himself. He had planned for the longest time to take Roy to an art supply shop, to give him a glimpse into his little world, what he did in his special room. Unfortunately, one bad event would lead to another and every time he'd try to take his Colonel to his favorite little supply shop, something bad would happen so... after a while he just gave up on it. It made him a little sad, to be honest, because he was really looking forward to letting Roy in to his little hobby, especially before he finally allowed Roy to enter and see the inside of his studio.
Apparently he didn't hide his disappointment well enough because, well... here they were.
"I... have been trying to take you to one of these places for the longest time and..." He couldn't contain it, there was the biggest smile on his face as he entered and took a look around. This must have been a fairly new store as it wasn't the one he usually frequents, but it did have a lot of items that Atem could browse around and lose track of time here. Keeping his voice low as it was an arts and crafts store, he proceeded to look around to see all that they have.
Tumblr media
"I was planning on taking you to one of these under the guise of helping me pick out stickers and special paper for the scrapbook, but in reality I wanted to see how much you'd really enjoy someone who was into this... kind of activity. If it would bore you or see it as childish. I was going to take you to one of these before letting you enter my studio." He looked around. Canvases, paints, different kinds of brush sets, little sketchbooks, plenty and plenty of colored pencils, pens, markers, you name it. But there were also supplies for other activities, like sewing, woodworking, fabrics, candle making, even activities for the kids. Oh! Maybe when Nina gets older he can get her her very first coloring book!
And yes. It has some stickers.
"I do appreciate this. I didn't think I'd ever get the chance to take you to a place like this. Wow, this has... everything. I don't think I was ever made aware of a place around here. Did this just open?"

#its so weird. i feel like march 5th went on for more than a day somehow. i guess that's just bc we were awake for just abt all of it#my dad wanted to start doing things immediately so he was calling and scheduling all day. we went to the funeral home we went to the store#and it was weird bc as we were moving around it was like wow we r a 4 person family now. this is it. and theres so much to do after a person#dies. or at least there is when they were loved so much and jesus christ my mom was one of the best ppl a LOT of ppl knew. she did so much#for so so many ppl. and with her childhood she had every reason to b a fuck up but no she was kind and selfless and amazing. her mother is#trying to bask in the attention of her death when its like: truely go fuck urself. her being such a good person has nothing to do with u. u#treated her appallingly. fuck off. and fucking everyone knows it. god. she is a product of her grandparents kindness. and it sounds like her#dad was amazing like her. but he tragically died in a car wreck when she was 3. she was in the car. no one in my mums family believes in a#god now. too many bad things happened to the shining gems in a collection of wild alcoholics. but its not all bad. my family's staying close#my dad is taking it hard bc this means hes alone now and my mum took care of so many things bc she was so smart and he feels so dumb. he#feels he didnt deserve her. hes working on giving more hugs now. and hes using us to anxiously talk things out the way he did with mom#which is good. i cant imagine if this happened when we werent 3 adults and he was windowed with 3 kids to raise himself. and its funny. were#saying things we never would have told her. we looked thru pictures of her and she was so so beautiful. a total smoke show. my parents were#a cute couple who produced cute kids. and my mom had trouble communicating and being affectionate tho we knew she loved us there was#distance. theres a pic of my dad pulling her close and shes being tippef towarf her while standing away and thats indicitive of their#relationship. they were 2 partners who lived together independently and that worked but its sad bc my mum couldnt b vulnerable in her#expression. ppl r being so kind tho. ill be in ohio now for like 2.5 more weeks as the funeral stuff shakes out. we have to have 2 bc she#grew up away from her and so many ppl loved her in both locations. she was a popular lady. its so weird to b here on pause. but i feel clear#in my head. i think this will change a lot of my outlook on life. its nice to focus on the person she was and not the horrible 12hrs where i#saw her half dead. i cant imagine how awful it was for my sisters and dad to see her downslide into death. she didnt expect this to b The#Fever that killed her but it did and now she'll never finish a million things. and the house is full of pill bottles and all her junk and#unopened amazon packages and a truck with the fuel left on empty. bc she was an absent minded goofball. ay. well miss her so much#unrelated

woooo my niece took 5 of my 13 lego sets, one of which was one of the three larger ones, so that's one huge box out of the way and i'm just glad she wanted them because like they ARE twenty years old and they look fine ofc but sometimes kids aren't gonna want stuff that isn't new and shiny ya know, but she did seem to want everything which would've been fine with me but i knew there was no way they would take all that with them, and at least i still have stuff of my own to sell, plus should get at least a cut of my brother's stuff for doing the inventory and putting together that stuff that wasn't already done
#i mentioned the hp sets and how they had been pretty much left together and he was like '....i had harry potter sets?'#which once he saw them he did think they were familiar which was some of my feeling with mine#like oh YEAH i do remember these i just didn't remember having so many#i mean between 13 sets it's really like 3 categories so i would've played with like the whole ice palace and its related sets#i do just wonder how it'll be at the store like everything is pretty much in fine shape#and probably there are people who want older stuff that's rarer and whatever now#BUT then there might be more of a demand for newer stuff at a better price or whatever idk#anyway 6 sets left in the upstairs and then the bionicles and statue of liberty are still in the attic#i'm still not convinced there couldn't be another box somewhere bc idk how to explain the few sets#that are missing so much that i can't actually do them bc even if we had gotten rid of some why would we not include the huge base or w/e#anyway we'll see! but i'm getting closer! and i did a little one this morning#that seemed to be complete it didn't list some of the pieces as extras but based on the instructions i figure they have to be#so i don't really need them like i'll include them if i find them and they're not needed for something else but yeah#anyway i can go back to fic though these first two at least are short so i may be going back to another one tomorrow#can't wait to have my room back though fr like#it is not the only thing making it feel messy because i have newer jewelry and clothes and stuff that i just have to organize and put away#but man the jewelry situation is just. it's not even having so many pieces it's like big earrings that take up a lot of space or whatever#so i just have not wanted to deal with it but it's kinda out of hand#but i can really think about that after this particular project is done#and do puzzles again oh my god i have 3 puzzles waiting for me at least#plus my mom always has a bunch to be done since everyone knows to buy her puzzles lol but that has also gotten out of hand#i wouldn't mind getting rid of a couple of mine though just bc it is like okay you do it but then you just have it and it takes up space#would be cool to have pretty ones framed tho

Simon with a young and soft girlfriend. NSFW
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。..・。.・゜✭・.・✫・
Boyfriend! Simon who: Was completely whipped for you, would do anything you asked without question, he'd kiss even the ground you walked on, just say the word and he'll do it.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Bought a new cell phone just to talk to you, his old cubicle could barely hold a video call with you, and now he could finally listen to you chatting away with him every time he had free time. And.. You also sent him some really nice pictures, and he kept them all on his new cell phone for his own personal use.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Sometimes it took him a while to catch up with you in all your youth, not physically, but in your interests, hobbies, the games you liked, series you watched. He wasn't that old, but keeping up with everything you did wasn't that easy, but he tried to get into your vibe. Give him a few days, he'll soon have everything in a notebook, the game you're so excited about, he'll soon be talking with you about it. He makes a point of knowing something or other, just to get into your world, to make you happy.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Melted in place when you showed off your new hoodie, which had his name, 'Riley, written right across the chest. You looked so beautiful wearing an outfit with his name written on it, as if it were a ownership, and he was grateful that you wore the hoodie without any shame, proudly showing who you belonged to.
Boyfriend! Simon who: After listening to you nagging him all week to get a hoodie just like yours, with your name on it, he finally gave in and made one. Just like yours, it had your name on the chest, showing everyone what a couple you two were. As much as he thought it was corny to wear matching clothes, he didn't mind if it was with you. He even put a Kuromi print on his hoodie, since you almost cried for him to put something from Hello Kitty on it. Sometimes he hated this cat and her derivatives, but he did it for you. All for his princess.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Always bought things for you, every time he came to see you, he never came empty-handed. Were you on your period? He would bring you chocolates and flowers, along with your favorite snacks. Did you pass through a store and want to buy something? Well, it'll be at your house as soon as possible. If he couldn't bring it himself, you could be sure that the package would arrive at your house the next day. He wasn't petty, he had plenty of money to spend and he liked spending it on you.
Boyfriend! Simon who: When he went out with you, he wouldn't let you spend a penny, no matter if you wanted a simple ice-cream, he would pay for you. And if he saw your eyes glazing over at something you saw in the shop window, he'd go and pick it up with you. Every time you went out together, you always came back with several bags of shopping, along with the plushies you loved so much. Simon didn't even know how you were going to fit more stuffed animals into your room, with all the stuff you already had.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Is a complete gentleman to you, carries your bag, always takes his helmet off you, as well as before you get on his bike, he attaches the helmet in place himself. He's the type to take you on his arms, just to stop you stepping in a puddle of water and getting your feet wet. And if you're tired, he'll carry you like a princess all the way home without complaint.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Is quite jealous of you, you're young, beautiful, and you're with an old geezer like him. Although he recognized his own value, he couldn't help but feel a sense of possession over you every time someone looked at you with ulterior motives. As a result, he would always mark you on the neck, or put a hand around your waist, always putting a part of himself in you so that everyone would know who you belonged to.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Was a completely kind prince to you on the streets, but he would wreck you inside the bedroom. He loved that you were all submissive to him, always taking him so well, accommodating him as if you were made for it. Even if he opened you all up with his fat cock, your tight cunt would stretch to accommodate him, it was like heaven on earth.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Made you bend over all night, fucking you on all fours, your ass up while he admired the new panties you made such a point of showing off to him. 'Simon's' was the writing on the lace, just seeing you wearing it made his cock throb, he took several photos of you wearing the panties, as well as giving you a good spanking session while you were over his knees, just because you loved being his good little girl.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Recorded a video as soon as he had worn you out on the bed, pulling his cock out of you, to see the mess coming out of your pussy that was full, opening your folds just to see his cum running down your thighs. Your cunt full of him, leaking because he came so hard in you. It's not his fault, seeing you on your stomach, your panties written 'Simon's', you were begging to be fucked. And he'd love to watch the video he recorded himself, his time alone at the base would be lovely.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Had a photo of you on his cell phone, bent over his knee while wearing a short skirt and thigh-high stockings, ass up, pink lace panties. On top of that, a bright red mark on your ass, the mark of the slap he had given you minutes before taking the photo, he is very proud to use this picture, and he's not shy if someone caught it. In addition, the lock screen photo was of you smiling while wearing his famous balaclava, one of the few times he let you touch the mask. Not that he regrets it.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Knew he was going on a dangerous mission, he didn't know when he was coming back, or if he was coming back. So a week before going on said mission, he took a whole week to spend with you. No work, no nothing, just him and you.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Fucked you all week, on your stomach, bending over, missionary, cowgirl, on the wall, living room, bedroom, bathroom, table, floor. Any surface he could slide his thick cock into your folds was fine with him. He couldn't stand the sight of you bending down to pick something up, or when you wore his clothes inside the house. The sight automatically made his cock throb, hard as a rock to fuck you again, always making sure to fill you with his seed, to the point where it was leaking out of you. Only then is he sure that he's filled you to the brim, like a good boyfriend does.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Wasn't very good with goodbyes, so he fucked you all night, all night he had you in a missionary, that's when he wasn't burying himself between your legs. He filled you up so well that night, the bed was full of wet spots, your pussy as full as ever, he'd leave you leaking with his cum, mixing your mess with his, just to bury himself in you and start all over again. He was relentless. His job was done, since you slept like an angel that night.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Went out on his mission early in the morning, grateful that you were out like a light, covered in sucks and marks from last night, making him tempted to go back to bed and hold on to you. But he couldn't, so he settled for a kiss on your lips and forehead. His farewell was a handwritten letter, explaining the details and saying that he loved you very much and would come back to you. Even so, it wasn't enough to prevent the tears that fell down your cheeks when you found out everything.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Even though he was on the battlefield, he couldn't stop thinking about you, always trying to maintain some kind of contact, sending messages every time he had a second of time, and if it was possible, when he was resting, he would call you. Every time the mission dragged on, he felt a sense of dread in his chest. Simon couldn't have realized how important you were, and that scared him, because for the first time in a long time, he was afraid that he wouldn't be alive to finish the mission. He promised himself that if he made it out alive, he would ask for your hand in marriage.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Stayed in a very remote area, his cell phone didn't work there, and he had no way of communicating with you, and that killed him inside, not being able to know how you were. And you were worried to death, thinking the worst.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Came home after four and a half months, of those four months he spent three without being able to talk to you. So as soon as he got off the plane that brought him back, he went to your apartment, stopping first at a jewelry store to buy you a ring, and he spared no expense. You were going to be his wife.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Was all giddy about arriving at your house, preparing to give you a surprise. As well as coming back alive, he was going to ask you to marry him, get on his knees for you. Then he rang the doorbell, still dressed in his work uniform, the box with the ring in one hand, and your favorite flowers in the other.
Boyfriend! Simon who: Stopped dead in his tracks when he saw you after all this time. It wasn't just emotion, his eyes caught your form, wearing one of his shirts, which barely did the job of covering your swollen belly. Well, it seems, he wasn't the only one with a surprise.
