Ketchum vs. Ketchum! Showdown in Cerulean City!
Woo! Finale time! I wanted to make this final battle feel special and give it more substance than I could do with just a comic. So! I got the help of @cyberwulf to write out this ending in fanfic form! Check it out here on AO3 if you prefer! If not, the journey continues below the cut~

James Sidestory / Meowth Sidestory
A lot has happened since our Poké Moms began their journey. After a rocky start…
“*SQUAWK*”
…they’ve managed to catch some new Pokémon…
“Run! Run! Run!”
…in their own way.
“What a cute baby! You know, I have a son, too!”
With their month on the road almost up, Delia had just one more thing she wanted to do…
“I want to beat the Cerulean City Gym!”
But little did Delia know, there was a surprise waiting for her in Cerulean City!
“MOM??? JESSIE???”
“Let’s have a double battle! You and Ash versus Jessie and I!”
“You’re on! But I’m not going easy on you just cuz you’re family!”
“…What’s going on?”

Ketchum vs Ketchum! Showdown in Cerulean City!
The water of the Cerulean gym battlefield glistened in the sunshine streaming through its crystal glass roof. Both teams gazed at each other with steely determination (and some lingering confusion, in Misty’s case) as above them, the Drone Rotom announced the rules.
“This will be a double battle between Gym Leader Misty and Champion Ash, and the challengers Delia and Jessie.” It projected a holographic image of both teams. “For today’s battle, each trainer may use two Pokémon. The battle is over when all of one team’s Pokémon can no longer battle.”
“All right!” Misty declared. “This is an official League battle for the Cascade badge!”
“And bragging rights!” Jessie added with a smirk.
“We’ll see about that!” Ash retorted. Misty glanced at him, taking in his clenched fists and gritted teeth. She’d seen Ash determined before, but… there was something here that she was missing. However, with the Drone Rotom hovering expectantly overhead, finding out what that something was would have to wait.
“Come out – Corsola!”
The Coral Pokémon landed on the rock in front of her, eagerly crying its name.
“This is a water-themed gym, so I’ll go with a Water-Type,” Ash remarked. “Oshawott, I choose you!”
“That’s the spirit, Ash!” Misty exclaimed. “It’s the job of a Gym Leader to help trainers learn type advantage and weaknesses by specialising in one kind of Pokémon, and around here that’s Water-Types!”
“Water, huh?” Jessie frowned as she considered the three Pokémon she had on hand. “Well, I don’t want my delicate little Ziggy to get her fur wet.” With a flourish, she tossed a Pokéball high in the air. “Go, Venomoth!”
The Poison Moth Pokémon emerged, hovering over the water.
“It’s a shame we don’t have any Grass or Electric-types,” Delia mused. “I guess we’ll just have to do our best with what we have.” Pushing her bangs out of her face, she called, “I choose you!”
Ash and Misty’s jaws dropped as the light from Delia’s Pokéball coalesced into a very large, very stern-looking Kangaskhan.
“I didn’t know your mom had such a strong Pokémon,” Misty whispered.
“Neither did I,” Ash whispered back. Movement at the corner of his eye caught his attention and he looked down at his starter Pokémon. “Something wrong, Pikachu?”
“Pika…”
Pikachu gazed across the water at Kangaskhan, ears and tail up, alert to… something. But before anyone could figure out what had caught his attention, there was a small cry.
“Kangaskhan!”
The baby squirmed, spooked by the glistening water lapping all around the rock. She buried her face in her mother’s belly and cried again. Cradling her young protectively, Kangaskhan gave Delia an apologetic look.
“Oh, of course!” Delia exclaimed. “I’m so sorry. Kangaskhan, return.” Cupping her hands around her mouth, she called across the battlefield. “That doesn’t count as one of my Pokémon, does it?”
“Of course not, Ms. Ketchum!” Misty shouted back. “Please choose another Pokémon!”
“If she’s got one,” Ash said with a confident smirk. “I’m betting she’ll send out Mimey.”
“I choose you… Clefairy!”
“Looks like you bet wrong, Ash,” Misty laughed as Ash stared in surprise at the Fairy Pokémon.
Above them, the Drone Rotom moved into position.
“Begin!”
“All right, Oshawott!” Ash called out. “Open up with an Aqua Jet!”
With a determined cry, Oshawott blasted a jet of water across the field, hitting Clefairy square in the belly and knocking the Fairy Pokémon off the rock and into the water.
“Ash Ketchum!” Delia exclaimed reproachfully. “That wasn’t very nice!”
Thrown off-guard, Ash gulped. “S-sorry!” (Oh man - I can’t believe I’m actually battling my mom!)
On the opposite side of the battlefield, a wet and bedraggled Clefairy clambered back up on the rock ridge, scowling at her attacker.
“Shake it off, Clefairy!” Delia urged as her Pokémon did just that, sending a fine shower of water droplets flying from her pink fur. “Use Disarming Voice!”
With a deep breath, Clefairy shot a vortex of pink hearts towards Oshawott, taking the Sea Otter Pokémon by surprise and knocking him into the water.
“Good work, Deerling!” Jessie shouted triumphantly. “Now it’s my turn!” She pointed at Corsola. “Venomoth, use Poison Sting!”
Venomoth hovered uncertainly for a few moments, then looked back at her.
“It doesn’t look like Venomoth knows that move, honey,” Delia remarked.
“Well, Dustox knew that move!” Jessie protested. “Venomoth should know it too, aren’t they both Bug-types?”
Venomoth just blinked at her.
“You really don’t know what moves your Pokémon knows?” Misty asked incredulously.
“Of course I do, just – just let me think!” Jessie spluttered, clenching her fists. “All right, Venomoth – use Gust!”
Venomoth didn’t move.
“Whirlwind!” Jessie tried. “Psybeam! …Tackle?”
Venomoth looked back and forth between Jessie and the battlefield as it fluttered about agitatedly, utterly confused by the barrage of unfamiliar orders.
“This is just sad,” Misty muttered, getting a nod of agreement from Ash. Raising her voice, she called out, “Corsola! Use Spike Cannon!”
Corsola glowed, and a split second later a shower of glowing white spikes slammed into Venomoth, driving it backwards towards the trainer box.
“Oh, no!” Delia groaned in dismay, wringing her hands. “Maybe we should’ve practiced with our new Pokémon before coming here!”
“We’re not giving up!” Jessie snarled, clenching her fists. “Venomoth! Get back out there!”
With a trill, Venomoth shook off the spikes, and floated towards its opponents again.
“Corsola!” Misty called. “Hit it with another Spike Cannon!”
Corsola began to glow.
“Well don’t just hover there!” Jessie barked out. “It’s about to attack again!” Venomoth looked back at her, and Jessie gestured angrily towards the battlefield. “Just do something! Anything!”
Once more, glowing white spikes shot towards Venomoth. This time, however, Venomoth dove towards the attack, sweeping its wings in front of itself at the last minute. Blue blades of light cut through the barrage of spikes, one hitting Corsola and driving it back.
“That’s Air Slash!” Ash exclaimed.
“Air Slash, eh?” Jessie shot her opponents a triumphant smirk. “Venomoth! Use Air Slash on that pitiful pink Pokémon again!”
“Hang in there, Corsola!” Misty called as her Pokémon was driven back for a second time. “Use Recover!”
“Don’t let it recover, Venomoth!” Jessie yelled. “Air Slash again!”
As her Pokémon geared up for another attack, she noticed Delia gazing at her in rapture.
“You’re so ferocious when you battle, Smoochum,” Delia remarked dreamily. She lowered her voice, waggling her eyebrows. “It’s kinda hot.”
Jessie blushed and giggled. “Baaabe, not in front of the twerps.”
Misty wrinkled her nose in disgust. “…Smoochum?”
“Freak out later, Misty!” Ash yelled. Venomoth was bearing down on Corsola, and the Coral Pokémon didn’t have much left. “Oshawott! Use Hydro Pump on Venomoth to protect Corsola!”
Leaping high into the air, Oshawott sent a powerful jet of water directly at Jessie’s Venomoth. With a cry, the Poison Moth hit the floor between Jessie and Delia, bounced once, and fainted.
“Hey, no fair!” Jessie bellowed, stamping her foot. “I was distracted!” She recalled Venomoth with a scowl. “I ought to ground you for making me look bad!”
“This is really weird,” Misty mumbled.
“You have no idea,” Ash sighed wearily.
“All right, you big blue blob,” Jessie growled to her faithful Patient Pokémon, “get out there and let’s win this thing!”
Saluting, Wobbuffet waddled forward, straight into the water. Jessie pinched the bridge of her nose as Wobbuffet awkwardly clambered up onto the protruding rock.
“Wobbles can’t attack unless he’s attacked first,” Delia murmured to herself. “Oshawott is strong, and Corsola can use Recover to gain back health. That means I’ve got to make this next move count!” She looked to Clefairy, wet and winded but not out of the battle. It was risky, but…
“Clefairy! Use Metronome!”
“Metronome?!” Misty exclaimed as Clefairy began to move her fingers hypnotically back and forth. “Now anything can happen!”
“Hold tight, everybody!” Ash called, just as the Fairy Pokémon’s fingers turned white.
Razor-sharp leaves whipped through the air, striking Oshawott and Corsola. The Grass-Type move was too much for the dual Rock/Water Type, and Corsola collapsed into the water, fainted. Oshawott was driven back against the rock ridge, and Ash held his breath, but the Drone Rotom only counted Corsola out.
“Oshawott! You hanging in there, buddy?”
With a grimace, the Sea Otter Pokémon gave him a determined nod. “Osha!”
“Ha!” Jessie cried triumphantly. “Now we’re even!” She clenched her fists, calling tauntingly across the battlefield. “Who’s next, twerpette? Togepi? Psyduck?”
“She sure is cocky for being down to just Wobbuffet,” Ash muttered.
“Not for long,” Misty replied with a smirk. She plucked her second Pokéball from her hip.
“Go – Gyarados!”
Delia’s eyes widened and Jessie took several steps back as the gigantic Pokémon appeared in the water. It glowered down at both trainers, making Delia swallow hard.
(Now’s not the time to lose my nerve! Gyarados is just a Pokémon like any other. All I have to do is-)
“Hey!” Jessie exclaimed angrily. “No fair using such a powerful Pokémon! What, are Staryu and Starmie at the Pokémon Centre or something?!”
Taken aback, Misty gaped at the former Team Rocket member in disbelief. “Since when do you care about playing fair?”
“Since you decided to use that monstrosity on a first-time trainer!” Jessie retorted with a shake of her fist. “That’s cheating!”
Misty paused, almost second-guessing her choice of Pokémon, when she remembered who she was dealing with. Squaring her shoulders, she shot back, “You’re not a first-time trainer!”
“Could’ve fooled me,” Ash muttered.
“I heard that!” Jessie bawled.
“It’s okay, honey,” Delia murmured, placing her hand on Jessie’s shoulder. “We can beat them. We just need to use strategy!”
“Gyarados!” Misty called out. Jessie may not have been the best trainer, and her track record with him was hit or miss, but Wobbuffet could reflect almost any attack. It might just have been luck, but Clefairy’s Metronome had taken out Corsola and left Oshawott just barely hanging on. There was only one choice of target.
“Use Hurricane on Clefairy, now!”
Rearing back, Gyarados shot a powerful blast of air directly at the Fairy Pokémon, sending her flying back to the trainer box.
“Oh no!” Delia cried. She knelt by her stricken Pokémon’s side, but it was obvious even without Drone Rotom saying so that Clefairy couldn’t continue. “You did a wonderful job, Clefairy.” Recalling her Pokémon, she rose, pushed her bangs out of her eyes, and called her second Pokémon.
“Mimey, I choose you!”
Ash clenched his fists. No more surprises – he knew what Mimey was capable of. Oshawott was tough, but he’d taken a lot of damage. If the Sea Otter Pokémon only had one move left, then Ash had to make it count.
“Oshawott! Hit Mimey with Aqua Jet!”
“Mimey, dodge it!” Delia cried out.
The Barrier Pokémon leapt high in the air, leaving Ash to watch, powerless, as Aqua Jet splashed harmlessly on the ground between his mother and Jessie. But before he could call out another attack –
“Now, Mimey, Focus Punch on Oshawott!”
There was no time for Oshawott to get out of the way. Mimey dove straight down, fist outstretched, and scored a direct hit. Both Pokémon vanished underwater. All four trainers held their breath. After a few seconds, Mimey burst out of the water, effortlessly leaping onto the rock. A moment later Oshawott floated to the surface, fainted.
“Good work, Oshawott,” Ash murmured as he recalled his Pokémon. He turned to Pikachu. “Looks like my mom’s a tougher trainer than I thought. You ready, Pikachu?”
The yellow mouse nodded, one tiny fist raised. “Pika!”
“You be nice to us now, Pikachu!” Delia cheered brightly.
Jessie was less optimistic.
“Babe, this isn’t looking good,” she murmured urgently. “I’ve been beaten by that Pikachu a zillion times! And that Gyarados looks strong. And mean! I don’t know if…”
She trailed off as the other woman took her hands.
“Now you listen to me, Jessie Ketchum.” Delia gazed into her eyes, a look of fierce determination on her face. “A zillion battles. A zillion losses. Against that very Pikachu. And you never gave up. So you’re not gonna give up now! Okay?”
Jessie stared back at her. Time seemed to stand still. Delia’s fingers were warm on her own as her words of encouragement hung in the air.
“Jessie… Ketchum?”
With the briefest of nods, Delia turned to face their opponents.
“Ash honey, don’t you hold back just because I’m your mom!” she called. “We’re going to give it our all, even if we lose!”
“She’s a lot like you, Ash,” Misty laughed. As Ash tugged the brim of his hat down to hide his blush, she raised her voice and called to the challengers. “You’re doing great, Ms. Ketchum! I’m really impressed by your abilities as a trainer. Now show me you’re worthy of the Cascade badge!”
“Hey!” Jessie yelled indignantly. “What am I, chopped liver?! My Venomoth pushed your Corsola to the brink!”
Misty grimaced. This was all still too strange – Jessie was a good guy? Jessie and Ash’s mom were… partners? She struggled for something positive to say about Jessie’s performance so far.
“Uh – yeah!” she managed. “It was, uh, really great how you figured out that one move.”
Jessie put her hands on her hips. “Ugh, could you sound any more insincere?!”
With a growl of impatience, Ash cupped his hands around his mouth and yelled across the battlefield. “Hey! Are we gonna battle or what?”
“Oh, we’re battling, twerp,” Jessie shot back. “And we’re gonna win!”
Ash grinned. “You ready, Pikachu?” The yellow Pokémon turned to look at his trainer. Ash pointed. “Quick attack!”
“Ha!” Jessie scoffed as Pikachu zigzagged along the rock ridge. “Wobbuffet, use Counter!”
Pikachu leaped forward…
“On Mimey!”
Delia and Jessie gasped as Pikachu pivoted and went straight for the Barrier Pokémon. Taken by surprise, he took the full brunt of the attack, losing his balance and hitting the water.
“A fake out!” Delia exclaimed. She beamed at her son with pride. “That was so smart of you, honey! You had us completely fooled!”
“Baaabe!” Jessie hissed. “I get that you care about him – I do too – but right now he’s the enemy!”
Delia tapped her fist against her head, grinning nervously. “Oh, right!”
“This is hurting my brain,” Misty groaned.
“How do you think I feel?” Ash grumbled.
Delia took a moment to centre herself and assess the situation. Pikachu didn’t have a Type advantage, but his Electric attacks were powerful – not to mention that Mimey was still wet. Of course, using them ran the risk of electrifying the entire battlefield, including Gyarados, but only one Pokémon needed to be left standing in order for that Pokémon’s team to win.
“Mimey!” she commanded. “Use Psychic on Pikachu!”
“Mr Mime!”
Mimey fixed Pikachu with an intense stare, his eyes and hands glowing blue. Blue light enveloped the yellow mouse as he was lifted into the air. Pikachu strained and struggled, but couldn’t break free.
Ash groaned in exasperation.
“Misty, go for Mimey!” he called. “If you weaken him, maybe Pikachu can break free. Plus, he’s a lot stronger than Wobbuffet!”
Misty nodded. “Right!”
“Hey!” Jessie objected. “Just because it’s true doesn’t mean you have to say it!” She shook her fist at them. “I raised you better than that, Ash Ketchum!”
“Wha – ” Ash took a step back, flabbergasted. “You didn’t raise me at all!”
“The heck I didn’t!” Jessie retorted. “Who kept an eye on you while you twerped your way through eight regions, huh?!”
Misty rubbed her temples. The whole situation was giving her a headache.
“Gyarados!”
The Atrocious Pokémon stirred itself and looked her way.
“Use Crunch on Mr. Mime, now!”
“Oh no, not Crunch!” Delia fretted, as Gyarados reared back, a sinister purple aura swirling around its fangs. “That’s a Dark-Type move!”
“Wobbuffet!” Jessie barked. “Get between Mimey and Gyarados and use Counter!”
Saluting, Wobbuffet leaped in front of Mimey, his body outlined in orange light. Crunch hit, hard, and bounced back twice as hard. Both Gyarados and Wobbuffet recoiled from the damage.
“Wobbles!” Delia cried out, as Mimey caught Wobbuffet in his arms.
“Don’t you quit on me now, Wobbuffet!” Jessie shouted.
Wobbuffet saluted weakly as Mimey pushed him back onto his paws. The distraction worked, and Pikachu dropped back to the rock, freed from Psychic.
“Keep the pressure on, Pikachu!” Ash yelled. “Use Iron Tail on Mimey, now!”
“Quick, Mimey!” Delia shouted as Pikachu somersaulted through the air, tail glowing white. “Use Reflect!”
Pikachu hit the invisible barrier and flew backwards, landing in the water.
“Gyarados!” Misty commanded. “Use Crunch again!”
“Mimey, keep using Reflect!” Delia shouted. “Don’t let them in!” She had to think. Poor Wobbles, he didn’t have much left – one more shot from that big Gyarados and that would be it. Not to mention that if Crunch hit Mimey, the battle would be over! She’d completely forgotten Gyarados could learn that move! Oh, maybe she should’ve used Zaggy instead…
Mimey obediently continued to use Reflect as Gyarados and Pikachu attacked from either side. Slowly the invisible barriers began to box them in, till Mimey and Wobbuffet were crowded together on the rock.
“Babe!” Jessie urged. “We have to do something or we’re gonna lose!”
“I know!” Delia groaned. “I just…” She cupped her face in her hands, pulling down on her cheeks. “…I don’t know!”
“Ms Ketchum!”
Delia lifted her head.
“You can’t let us back you into a corner!” Misty called. “Use your environment to find a way out!”
Ash shot her a glare. “Hey, whose side are you on?!”
“It’s my job as a Gym leader to help trainers to learn,” Misty explained with a smile. “Did you forget?”
“You didn’t help me when I battled you for the first time!” Ash replied indignantly, poking his thumb into his chest.
Misty glowered at him.
“That’s because you still owed me a new bike, Ash Ketchum!”
“Aaagh!” Ash placed both hands on his head, tugging his hat down. “Can’t you let that go already? It got repaired, didn’t it?”
While their opponents bickered, Delia had taken Misty’s words to heart.
“Use the environment…” she mused. There was only one place Mimey and Wobbles could go – but first they had to do something about the double attacks coming their way.
“Jessie!” she hissed, beckoning her partner to come closer. “Can you have Wobbles use Counter?”
Jessie looked at Wobbuffet, sweating nervously as he stood behind Mimey. She nodded.
“Okay,” Delia replied. She whispered quickly in the other woman’s ear. Jessie grinned, then straightened up.
“Wobbuffet! Use Counter on both those attacks!”
Without any hesitation, Wobbuffet moved in front of Mimey, body once more enveloped in an orange glow. Crunch and Iron Tail came back double on Gyarados and Pikachu, sending the two flying backwards. Both Pokémon landed hard on the rock, Gyarados almost wrapping around it with the force of the blow.
“On your feet, Pikachu!” Ash called. “It’s not over yet! …Huh?”
He blinked at the empty battlefield. Mimey and Wobbuffet had both disappeared. Ash tensed as he scoured the water for any sign of the enemy Pokémon, but the surface was still settling from the last bout of attacks. The sunlight streaming through the roof didn’t help either – it made the rippling water glitter.
Misty spotted movement a second too late.
“Look out-”
In tandem, Mimey and Wobbuffet burst through the surface, taking up positions either side of Gyarados and Pikachu, trapping their opponents between them.
“Good work, you two!” Delia cheered. She pointed dramatically. “Now, Mimey – use Psychic on both of them!”
Once more, Mimey’s eyes and hands glowed. Both Gyarados and Pikachu rose into the air, enveloped in blue light.
“Great strategy, Ms. Ketchum!” Misty called, earning a dirty look from Ash which she ignored. “There’s no point going for Wobbuffet – he’ll just Counter our attacks again.”
“Right,” Ash agreed. “We’ve gotta take out Mimey!” He raised his voice. “Pikachu!”
Misty did likewise. “Gyarados!”
Delia grinned. “Just as I thought.” She looked at her partner. “Get ready with Mirror Coat!”
Jessie blinked in confusion. “…Huh?”
“Thunderbolt –”
“Hydro Pump –”
“On Mimey!” both young trainers yelled in unison.
“Mimey!” Delia called, just as both Pokémon charged their attacks. “Drop them, use Light Screen and aim at Wobbles!”
“Aim at WHO?!” Jessie exclaimed.
There was no time to explain. Everything turned on a split second. Pikachu and Gyarados began to fall through the air. Several volts of electricity and a powerful torrent of water hit Mimey’s Light Screen and barrelled towards Wobbuffet.
The diabolical beauty of Delia’s devious plan suddenly caught up with Jessie. That pair of pathetic Pokémon were in for a –
“Now, honey!”
Jessie almost fumbled the command.
“M-Mirror Coat!”
Wobbuffet glowed, shrouded in a reflective aura. Everything seemed to slow down. The attacks hit. They bounced back at Mimey. Pikachu and Gyarados fell. Ash’s mouth opened in a silent noooo.
The timing was perfect.
Gyarados and Pikachu fell in front of Mimey, taking the full brunt of Thunderbolt and Hydro Pump, doubled by Mirror Coat. The sheer force of the attacks drove them along the surface of the water, causing huge plumes of water to rise into the air either side of them. The battlefield disappeared in a shroud of surf and spray.
“Pikachu!” Ash cried out.
All four trainers held their breath as the mist began to clear.
Jessie cried out in dismay on seeing Wobbuffet floating belly-up in the water. Ash groaned on spotting Pikachu doing likewise. Draped over the rock, Gyarados lifted its head weakly, then dropped it again.
Delia scanned the water, a smile spreading across her face as Mimey swam to the rock and clambered up, standing tall with a cry of, “Mr. Mime!”
“Wobbuffet, Pikachu, and Gyarados are unable to battle,” the Drone Rotom declared, as Ash sank to his knees. “The winners are the challengers, Delia and Jessie!”
“I… I can’t believe this…” Ash moaned.
“We…” Jessie couldn’t stop staring at the battlefield, Drone Rotom’s words ringing in her ears. “…we won?” She looked to Delia, and the joyful look on her face confirmed it. “We WON!!!”
Delia shrieked as Jessie caught hold of her and lifted her high in the air, doing a twirl before setting her back on her feet and peppering her face with kisses. “Hahahaha!” She turned to their opponents, pulling down on one eyelid while sticking her tongue out. “Suck it, twe – I mean, Ash and Misty! I knew this day would come sooner or later!”
“Jessica, I know you’re happy, but don’t be a bad winner,” Delia chided gently. “Magnanimity in victory goes a long way.”
“But baaaabe!” Jessie whined. “I’ve never had a victory this magnificent before!”
Delia just smiled and gave her a peck on the lips. “I think poor Wobbles wants you,” she remarked, nodding to the battlefield. “We’ll need to get him to a Pokémon Centre with Venomoth and Clefairy.”
Jessie nodded and went to haul Wobbuffet out of the water.
“Come on, you,” she grunted as she dragged the Patient Pokémon back onto dry land. Briefly she removed her cap and wiped the sweat from her brow. Fine, so she couldn’t taunt the twerps any more. Victory still tasted pretty sweet.
In her arms, Wobbuffet stirred and smiled weakly up at her. Jessie couldn’t help but smile back.
“How about that?” she murmured to him. “You’re a winner, Wobbuffet. I bet you can’t wait to tell the others.”
He managed a salute and a quiet “Wobba…” before Jessie recalled him to his Pokéball.
Ash, meanwhile, remained on his knees in the trainer box. “I can’t believe we lost to my mom.”
“You gotta admit, that last strategy was a thing of beauty,” Misty replied with a smile. She’d made her way out to the rock and was cradling Gyarados’s head, absently rubbing its crest. The big Pokémon opened its eyes and let out a quiet rumble. “I guess now we know where you get your battling skills from, champ!”
Stepping out of her sneakers, Delia carefully negotiated the slippery rock and fished Pikachu out of the water. A couple of vigorous rubs from his head to his tail, and the Electric Mouse Pokémon opened his eyes.
“You were great, Pikachu,” Delia murmured. She tickled him under his chin, getting a weak “Chaaa” in response. She made her way back to the side of the battlefield to find Ash, Misty and Jessie waiting. “You were great too, honey.”
Ash managed a smile as she handed Pikachu to him. “Thanks, Mom.” He gasped as he was pulled into a hug.
“That was such a fun battle!” Delia exclaimed. She loosened her hold just enough to look at him. “I can see why you like this so much.”
“Watch out, Ash,” Misty teased. “You might just have a new rival on your hands!”
Ash let out a distressed yelp.
“Oh no, I don’t have time for that,” Delia assured him with a wave of her hand. As Ash sighed with relief, she cupped his cheek and tilted his head up to look at him. “But travelling around this past month and battling with you today… it’s made me feel a little bit closer to you.”
Ash blushed, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
“Aw, Mom,” he mumbled with a grin.
“Ahem.”
Ash and Delia turned to see Misty holding out a Cascade badge.
“This is yours, Ms. Ketchum,” the Gym Leader declared. “You made the battlefield, your Pokémon and their moves work to your advantage. I’m impressed!”
“Oh, you’re too kind, really,” Delia replied, blushing as she accepted the badge. Its blue surface seemed to glitter in the sunlight streaming in from the roof. “I’ll treasure this, always. Thank you.”
“That’s how you win a badge fair and square,” Misty teased, shooting a wink Ash’s way.
The Champion rolled his eyes. “Yeah, yeah, whatever.”
“Aren’t you forgetting something?”
All three turned to see Jessie holding out her hand.
“What about me?” she demanded. “The perfect Pokémon battle partner? Trainer of vicious Venomoth and wild Wobbuffet? Where’s my badge?”
Misty sighed. Jessie had been on the winning team, and she had won a badge fair and square, but the whole situation was still bizarre.
“I’ll give you a badge if you explain what all…” She waved her hand between Jessie and Delia. “…this is about.”
“Delia and I dating,” Jessie scoffed with a shrug. “It’s not that complicated.”
“I got that part,” Misty shot back irritatedly, “I just…” She looked from Jessie, standing with her arms crossed, to Ms. Ketchum, who had one hand on Jessie’s hip, to Ash, who looked like he was hoping the floor would open up and swallow him. “…you know what, never mind.” Reaching into her pocket, she took out a second Cascade badge.
“I can’t believe this is happening, but… you earned this!”
Jessie let out a little cry of joy as Misty put the badge into her hand.
“Oh, Deerling, look how pretty it is!” she gushed. “Do you think maybe we could just get the prettiest Gym badges?”
“I don’t see why not,” Delia replied. “With James to run the restaurant, I can take vacations more often!”
“James is –” Misty glared at Ash, who pulled the brim of his cap down and giggled nervously. “We’re going to the Pokémon Centre and then you’re telling me what’s been going on, Ash Ketchum!”
“Let’s all go to the Pokémon Centre,” Delia suggested. “Our Pokémon battled hard today, they deserve a good rest.”
It wasn’t long before Nurse Joy’s tender care had Venomoth, Corsola, Oshawott, Clefairy, Wobbuffet, Gyarados and Pikachu feeling like their old selves again. Delia squeezed Jessie’s hand, murmuring “that’ll be you one day, Smoochum” as they watched Joy work.
“Well, we should get going,” Delia declared once they had their Pokémon back.
“We were going to stay and have dinner, Ms. Ketchum,” Misty said. She eyed Jessie reluctantly, but made the offer anyway. “…You’re welcome to join us.”
“That’s sweet of you, Misty, but we’ve been away long enough,” Delia replied, to both kids’ relief. “It’s time we headed home. Thank you both so much for such an amazing battle.” She hugged Ash tightly. “Don’t stay away too long, honey.”
“You know I won’t, Mom,” Ash replied, blushing. He shot Misty a grin. “I’ll be home right after I kick Misty’s butt in our rematch!”
“Then I’ll see you soon,” Delia murmured. She let go of her son and gave Misty a quick hug and a wink. “Try not to beat him too badly!”
“Hey!” Ash exclaimed indignantly.
Delia stepped back, joining her girlfriend near the door of the Pokémon Centre. She gave her a look and nodded to both kids. With a sigh, Jessie trudged up to Ash and gave him a stiff hug.
“See you at home, kid,” she mumbled. Letting go, she turned to Misty. “Thanks for the battle and the badge, I guess...?”
The two gazed at each other for a few awkward moments, then Jessie took a step closer, slowly lifting her arms.
“Aah!” Misty hurriedly moved back, holding her hands up in front of her. “I don’t think I’m there yet.”
Jessie dropped her arms with a huge sigh of relief. “Great! Me neither.” She offered her hand instead, and the Gym Leader shook it.
Ash and Misty stepped outside the Pokémon Centre to see them off, their goodbyes ringing in the air as Delia and Jessie got on the road. Jessie slung her arm around her girlfriend’s shoulder.
“Happy, babe?”
“Yes and no,” Delia sighed. “I’m sad my journey’s over, but I couldn’t be happier about how it went. I made three wonderful new friends, foiled a nasty poacher, and that battle today –” She clenched her fists in front of her. “ – I never felt so alive! I can’t wait to tell Professor Oak and James and Meowth all about it!” She slipped an arm around Jessie’s waist. “I’m so glad you talked me into this.”
Jessie preened. “Oh it was nothing, babe, I –”
She broke off as Delia took hold of her hands.
“Thank you for making my dreams come true,” the other woman whispered. Jessie’s heart caught in her throat as she saw tears shining in Delia’s eyes. “Not just today, but every day we’re together.”
Jessie smiled, warmth blooming in her chest.
“It’s the least I could do,” she replied. Delia deserved more, so much more, for putting up with her, believing in her, loving her. Not to mention all she’d done for James and Meowth too. Maybe one day –
- but before Jessie could continue the thought, Delia leaned up and pulled her into a tender kiss.
THE END
“Oh, I can’t wait to get home to our nice comfy bed!”
“Ugh, me too. I hate sleeping on the ground.”
“…who said anything about sleeping?”

Moe: When I get Doordash I order 20 Cheeseburgers at a time and heat them up throughout the week so that I don’t have to pay the delivery fee multiple times. Pokéball headcanon because I've been thinking about it a lot lately and I don't love the PLA explanation.
Prof. Laventon says Pokémon can just shrink down at will and that's why Pokéballs work.
I think that he's Wrong (because they're in the past and can't accurately measure this or that so they just kinda assumed that was the case when they found no other answer), and that in actuality it's the material used in the pokéball that prompts the shrinking. Like the energy signature of tumblestone reacts with the Pokémon's energy and causes/allows them to shrink.
And future Pokéballs are made to artificially recreate and improve that energy signature in order to not be restricted to using tumblestone, and also to allow the balls and Pokémon reach that super tiny marble size.
Which would help explain being able to surprise catch a Pokémon? What creature would get beaned in the head from behind and instinctively just shrink down and hop inside the thing that someone chucked at them in ambush?
Rather than that, I'd like to imagine the ball just responds to the energies interacting and pulls them in. From there the Pokémon can decide whether or not they want to break out.
Energy signatures would also be a plot convenience to explain away the inability to capture an already-caught Pokémon (especially in the past where you can't reasonably say there's some kind of futuristic anti-theft tech built in). The energy of the Pokémon and ball are in sync or something like that. Therefore, you can't steal 'em from their ball (or switch what ball they're recalled to) without breaking the tumblestone.
In a universe that has actual (not ghost-type) ghosts and human psychics and inexplicable physics, I think this kind of explanation is kinda viable and a bit more satisfying than Laventon's statement.
((also i know the "at will" part can explain some game mechanics, such as there being so many pokémon hiding in knee-height grass, but it also contradicts some mechanics like the move "minimize", so i'm choosing to lean toward game plot/anime/etc ideas rather than game mechanic ideas))
#pokemon#pokemon pla#pokemon legends arceus#pla#pokemon headcanon#icys trashtalk#I imagine kurt in johto either has access to tumblestone OR the colored apricorns have a similar energy situation#tldr: the pokemon dont shrink by themselves- the pokeball helps initiate the shrinkening as a result of interacting energies#because the pokemon universe already has various known unscientific energies. psychics. aura. lingering souls. etc.#shrinky dink energy should also be allowed

Can I get some soulmateless? Ingo and Emmet shiny hunting as the hopeless romantics they are?
you can absolutely get that ye
🍓🍓🍓
Opelucid City is like a second home to the twin Masters of the Unova Subway System. Uncle Drayden lives there, and while Ingo and Emmet both love visiting him, they're on a mission. Outside of Opelucid are Route 11 and the Village Bridge. The only places in Unova that have Zangooses.
It's a fat chance, and the twins know it. But they've been doing this since they were strong enough to battle in the area, scouring the grass for hints of blue and white fur.
The universe hadn't been kind enough to write the name of their soulmate on their skin. The pair didn't see in black and white, nor did they have any marks to indicate someone else coming to form a two-car (or even a three-car) train with them.
Either there's a Zangoose out there waiting to chase them into their soulmate's arms, or the twins are soulmateless. And the latter is too much to bear.
So they hunt.
"There must be a better way than this." Ingo reasons, pushing thick grass aside at the slightest catch of blue. The Karrablast blinks up at him owlishly, fleeing when Chandelure gives a warning chime. "We must be more efficient! There are ways to increase our chances out here, there must be!"
"Shiny Pokémon are verrrrrrry rare." Emmet drawls, tromping through the darker patches of grass. Galvantula clings to his back as Archeops races ahead of him. "They are less rare when you breed Pokémon. We need a Zangoose to breed, and another to breed too."
"You can only choose one type of Pokémon to breed." Ingo replies sternly. "I will stand the Joltiks. I will not stand a hoard of Zangooses."
"Not even to see your soulmate?" Emmet fires back. Ingo turns away, cheeks pink. "I have heard that there is research being done in breeding. If you breed a Pokémon with one of a foreign region, your chances of getting a shiny are higher."
Ingo huffs, conducting Chandelure to use Shadow Ball on a Marill. "And how will we get a foreign Zangoose?"
"I have connections."
"Uncle Drayden is going to another dragon-type convention in Sinnoh?"
"Shush."
Ingo snorts, but makes a mental note to ask their uncle about it later at dinner. "Perhaps we can-"
"INGO!"
Ingo whips around, watching Emmet dive at a blue Zangoose darting across the brush. He commands Chandelure to use Hypnosis, but it misses, as does Galvantula's attempt at Thunder Wave.
So Ingo lunges too. Soft fur fills his hands, PokéBalls hammering into the side of his body as Emmet struggles to aim at the Zangoose and not him.
The Zangoose slams its head into his own, twisting to aim for the center forehead. Ingo flops back, blinded by stars and bright light. He sees Emmet standing over him, eyes wide and wild and two more PokéBalls at the ready.
Ingo scrambles to stand, readying his own balls.
The ball at their feet wiggles, jerks, jumps. And breaks open into another flash.
And the battle begins
🍓🍓🍓
whatever the outcome, they return to drayden bruised as hell and utterly reinvigorated

MissingNo Anon here again. The Bigfoot comparison was the exact idea I had in mind.
However, I had a few new ideas that MissingNo would do the stream. It would turn the stream from a hard survival, slice of life to a flat out debated horror nightmare. The horror isn’t gore or dark history, or the supernatural ghost Pokémon that’s only directed towards the streamer.
MissingNo is super attentive to the viewers of the stream and consistently monitors whatever they say. No one knows why or how, and no one gets any concrete answers.
Arceus doesn’t even know what MissingNo is, and as a result, the Pokémon glitches the dimensional Wi-Fi as well as the stream itself. The colors invert, the screen in split into 16th, audio is increased to the maximum, the streams buffers, the stream just crashes, or static takes over.
Sometimes the text to speech robot is replaced with deep and speedy murmurs. It read the dialogue exactly how the donor wanted to sound, but it’s so quiet and deep it’s extremely hard to hear.
The streamer does care about the stream, but also cares about their Pokémon. Even without MissingNo out of its ball it glitches the stream, but the streamer just can’t let it go! What kind of trainer ditched their Pokémon just because it’s annoying? Not a good one.
Occasionally, MissingNo is the one to greet the livestream, usually taking it over when their trainer is sleeping. It types to the chat oftentimes spouting gibberish in 3 forms.
1:ALHDOSB£{*{^}+]¥OSKABSOBDO8292&¥91+[^{+€~*\=_¥. Alphabet spam that makes no sense.
2: “How is IsIngo, Where are you now, JUMP OFF JUMP, SHINY SHINY RAPIDASH, I think you forgot something behind the waterfall.” Text-donations sentences taken, cut, and sewn together to form something.
3: “But it failed, but it Missed! Missed me!!” Standard Pokébattle dialogue mis-mashed together.
All while MissingNo becomes better at stringing in texts, the streamer looks more and more exhausted, and just confused. It cares for its Pokémon a lot, maybe even more so than the stream…but choosing one tears them apart, leaving just an anxious trainer.
MissingNo is a lot of work that defies the laws of physics, and it’s heavily debated biology provides little answer in sight.
All while MissingNo messages are getting more concerning. The sentences they create often are extremely confusing, misleading the viewers. This creates a debate over what it’s saying, is it a threat, a warning of impending doom, lost history about its kind, the creation of the universe?, or is it making fun of the viewers telling them they missed something that doesn’t exist!
Eventually, the streamer removes MissingNo from their team, but before they can do so the Pokéball that contained it broke a day afterwards. Its mystery is left unsolved, and their presence being as reliable as the pictures of its existence online. It’s out there, and it’s real, but what it really is, how it exists, and what it could do never have a set answer.
All debates just and confusion just leads to exhaustion on all spectrums. It left mysteriously just as it came.
Ooohhh 👀👀
Hear me out, MissingNo recognizes it was causing exhaustion, so it left of its own free will.
But it still follows the streamer around. In rare instances, in less than a second, sometimes the viewers catch MissingNo in the background of a stream.
Behind a tree, in a lake, flickering in existence briefly-
It unsettles everyone watching, many people unsure if it means well. Many people grow worried for you, since it’s obviously stalking you.
Sometimes it still even starts a stream when you are sleeping. This time though, it always freaks your viewers out since they know its not on your team anymore.
It doesn’t stay long. No more than 3 minutes at most. But its scary, mixes of garbled music and voices come out of everyone’s speakers.
Sometimes the streams are just it staring at your sleeping form. Others are random places in the wild.
Emmet nearly had a heart attack when one stream was just of Ingo sleeping with garbled text appearing on screen, seemingly begging for help.
You are non the wiser until the next day, feeling a bit more exhausted than normal. Your chat is relieved, but fearful for you.

Hiveon
[Hive + eon]
Today I introduce you to Hiveon, my Bug-type Eeveelution. The design was mainly based on bumblebees, as they'e probably the most huggable insects, though Moths and Spiders also had some influence on them. I hope you like it.
Species: Bug Swarm Pokémon Type: Bug Height: 0,9m (2'11") Weight: 23,1kg (50.9 lbs.) Ability: 1. Compound Eyes, hidden: Swarm
Gender Ratio: 87,5% male, 12,5% female Egg Groups: Field Egg Cycles: 35 (8,739–8,995 steps)
EV yield: 2 Sp.Def Catch Rate: 45 (5.9% with PokéBall, full HP) Base Friendship: 50 Base Exp.: 184 Growth rate: Medium Fast
Body Type: Quadruped Footprint: Pokédex entry: Hiveon cares about few more than those it concideres part of it's Hive. Due to it's simple Nature it's concidered dump by many.
Evolves from Eevee when trying to evolve via any evolution stone while a Ghollectabee is in the same party. This also causes the Ghollectabee to evolve.
Hiveon are considered very simple Creatures and are as a result not bothered by many things. They like flowers and Grass-types although these same Grass-types are often not to thrilled by them. As theyprobably have one of the most unique evolution methods, directly linked to the presence of another Pokemon, they tend to have a very close relationship to the Willow Wasp that evolved alongside them.
One of the few Pokemon they don’t get along with is Wyveon, as they often look down on them because of it’s lack of power and drive to achieve anything big in life. Not many trainers choose to train a Hiveon, as they’re arguably weak and bug types aren’t that popular in the first place. Though those that can look past their offensive weakness, will find a very sturdy and surprisingly fast Mon, with a lot of tools to enable the team around them and be a right nuisance to it’s opponents.

I've made a small list of Rules for Nuzlockes, ideas and suggestions I sorted from other sites - and a couple that I made myself - to help guide future Players.
This is in no way a complete and exclusive list, many other ideas and suggestions may be added/altered later on.
Also, I made them as a checklist to help future Players to better plan their own future challenges.
DA MAIN RULES:
1 - Only the first wild Pokémon encountered in a route or area can be caught. If the player fails to catch it (ie. it flees or faints), their opportunity to catch a Pokémon in that area is lost. 2 - Any Pokémon that faints must be released or boxed permanently. It is considered “dead” for the rest of the challenge. 3 - The player must nickname all Pokémon they catch or obtain.
Bonus Conditions:
( ) PokéBall Clause: The run effectively only starts after the Player can have Pokéballs to start captures, disregarding Rules 1 and 2. ( ) Duplicate clause: If the first Pokémon in an area is one the player already owns, or its evolution or pre-evolution, they MAY capture it or skip to one they do not own yet, and then attempt to catch it. ( ) No Legendaries in Play: The Player may capture a Legendary Pokémon, but not use it in the run.
------------------------------------
Now, for the main show:
------------------------------------
Softcore Rules:
( ) First Mon Out: First Death in the Run is ignored.
( ) No Full Wipe: A loss of a whole Team is not a loss. The Player can choose to make a new Team out of stored/benched Pokémon
( ) Friendly Rivalry: Rule 2 is disregarded in Rival Battles.
( ) Shiny Clause: If the player encounters a shiny wild Pokémon, they MAY catch it, disregarding Rule 1. A shiny Pokémon won't count as an encounter for that area.
( ) On Safari: each area of the Safari Zone is considered its own Route/Area, for the effects of Rule 1.
( ) HM Slave: You may ignore Rule 1 to catch Pokémon SOLELY for teaching HMs. Said HM users cannot be used for battling - if they are your last member(s), you must consider the Team whited out
------------------------------------
Hardcore Rules:
( ) No Escape: The player can not flee from wild battles/
( ) Caught Only: The Player cannot use any Gift/Found/Bought/Traded Pokémon, only the ones they capture. Eggs are consider Gifts. The Starter Pokémon, which is a Gift, must be stored/released after your first catch in the run is Level 5 or above.
( ) Monolocke/Monotype: All Pokémon in the team must share one same type, to be decided at the start of the run.
( ) Monocolor: All Pokémon in the team must share a color, to be decided at the start of the run.
( ) Uniquelocke: None of the team's Pokémon may share a type.
( ) Set Battles: The game is on Set Mode, instead of Shift. The Player change Pokémon only after the Foe puts a new Pokémon into play.
( ) No Day Care Center: No use of Day Care Center during Run.
( ) No Child Support: Can't use the Day Care Center to breed Eggs nor have Pokémon that can risk Eggs to appear.
( ) No Held Items: The Player can't have their Pokémon hold items. Pokémon with Pickup are prohibited.
( ) No X Item: The Player can't use the item "X" during the run. Pokéballs, Move Learners and Key Items are Exception.
( ) No Modern Medicine: No healing items for HP, PP, or status other than Berries, Roots, Powders, Herbs, Drinks and Foods. No Potions, Restores, Elixers, Ethers, status heals or variants are allowed.
( ) No Legendaries: The Player cannot capture any Legendary Pokémon, either defeat or flee them.
( ) Level Cap: Player’s Pokémon may only be trained up to the level of the next Gym leader’s Highest Leveled Pokémon. After the last Badge, Level Cap is the Highest Leveled Pokémon in the Elite Four.
( ) Limited Pokémon Centers: Pokémon Centers may only be used a certain number of times per Center, or a certain number of times between each Gym.
( ) Town Keys: The Pokémon Center and Poké Mart of a Town with a Gym can only be used after you defeat that Gym Leader. Towns with no Gym are exempt.
( ) American Healthcare System: Every use of a Pokémon Center demands spending money (Player goes to a Poké Mart, buy items that will cost the set value of healing and then discards bought items).
( ) Limited Poké Mart: Poké Marts may only be used to buy a certain item (Poké Balls, Healing Items, etc).
( ) Apocalocke: The player chooses (or is given) a type of apocalyptic disaster theme. Depending on the disaster chosen, only certain Pokemon types “survive” and may be used. Tsunami (Normal, Flying, Water, Grass, and Dragon-types survive and may be used) Heat wave (Normal, Fire, Rock, Electric, and Ground-types survive and may be used) Ice Age (Normal, Ice, Dark, Fighting, and Steel-types survive and may be used) Nuclear War (Normal, Poison, Bug, Psychic, and Ghost-types survive and may be used) Famine (Normal, Rock, Ground, Steel, and Ghost-types survive and may be used)
------------------------------------
Extra Hardcore Rules:
( ) Giftlocke: Rule 1 is disregarded. The player is not allowed to catch Pokémon, must use only their starter and Pokémon that are obtained without catching.
( ) Routelocke: Rule 1 is disregarded. The player picks a route or area, and can only catch Pokémon that can be found on that route.
( ) No Items in Battle: The Player can't use any items during battles, like Potions or Antidotes, etc. Pokéballs are Exception.
( ) No Items: The Player can't use any items that affect Pokémon during the run, like Potions or Antidotes, etc. even outside battles. Pokéballs, Move Learners and Key Items are Exception.
( ) Notepad Clause: No Pokémon may be kept in storage or Day Care Center. The player may only own six Pokémon at a time.
( ) Notepad Extreme Clause/First 6 Only: The player may only own six Pokémon throughout the entire run. If all pokémon in the Team faint, then it's "game over", even if the Player have any Pokémon still in store.
( ) No Pokémon Centers: Pokémon Centers may not be used during the Gyms part of the Run. After that and before the Elite Four, you can only use the E4's Center.
( ) No Poké Marts: Poké Marts may not be used; the only items available are those found in the overworld or given for free by NPCs.

(( for this one I’ll put some spoilers for a future mini arc I have planned :3 also ik this is Blake’s blog but it’s partially also N centered ))
———
“So what’s your plan, Lord N?” The scientist chuckles darkly, eyes flicking to the Shadow Triad member holding a sickle to Blake’s throat. “Save the very monster that almost took Zekrom and your precious Unova from you-”
N tensed at his words, biting his lip as he glanced down at the Ultra Ball clutched firmly in his right hand. It was ice cold to the touch, the thin layer of frost coating its metal surface making his skin feel numb, but he still held onto it like his life depended on it.
“-and sacrifice the love of your life? Your hero of truth you worked so hard to find again?”
He then looked to Blake, fixing on their terror-stricken eyes as the triad member’s blade pressed further into the skin of their neck, barely behind the threshold of drawing blood.
“N- don’t give it to him! It’s not worth it!” They begged, struggling helplessly against the assassin’s hold.
“Blake…” he croaked out hoarsely, his heart pounding and his mind racing as he tried to think of something- anything.
“Let Blake go!” “Don’t do this!” August and Hugh’s voices cried out desperately in the background, the two young trainers bound together in a firm rope wrapped around their middles.
“What will he choose, ladies and gentlemen?” The scientist interrupted, throwing his arms out dramatically to an invisible crowd. “Keep to his oath of protecting all Pokémon, or break it in order to save his beloved partner?”
N’s knees wobbled underneath his weight. This wasn’t a choice he could make.
“Time is ticking, Harmonia. Give me Kyurem, and their life is spared.”
…And yet it was one he had to make.
With one more glance towards Blake, he swallowed the lump in his throat, and took a hesitant step forwards. His body seeming to move on its own, he began to extend his arm out, ready to surrender the Pokéball once and for all…
Then he heard it.
The faintest rumbling of thunder, from somewhere that sounded far, yet right next to his heart. A sound only he could hear.
He froze. And then, he knew what he had to do.
Furrowing his brows, he took the last few steps towards the scientist, moments away from dropping the Pokéball into his enemy’s hand.
“I’ll admit… you’ve given me an impossible decision.” He spoke coldly. “Making me sacrifice one or the other. My love for Pokémon against my love for Blake.”
He closed his eyes, fingers tightening around the metal capsule. “That’s why I choose to give up…”
“…Neither.”
With a strong yell, he drew his arm back and flung the Pokéball over the heads of Blake’s captors. It went careening past the cavern ceiling, before plummeting into to the deep, dark crevice just behind them.
The scientist’s jaw went slack, and he hurried to the edge of the bottomless gap. His Shadow Triad accomplice followed, dropping the his weapon and freeing Blake from his grasp. N dashed over to his partner’s side, catching them just as they began to fall forwards.
“ZEKROM!”
The ceiling burst open above them, light filtering into the pitch black cave as a shadowy black figure cloaked in radiant blue light came diving in. A divine bellow shook the earth, before a bolt of lightning followed after the Pokéball in its descent.
There was a flash of red, and then an ear-piercing roar. The scientist and the triad member gasped in unison, and stumbled back just as a flurry of white erupted forth from the crevice and swallowed them both whole. Pulling Blake in tow, N rushed over to throw himself protectively over August and Hugh, shielding them from the frigid blast.

I Choose A’TCHIEW! : Part 2
A sequel, anonymous commission
******************************
Fandom: Pokémon (Personal OCs)
Word Count: 2921
Genre: Big Sneezes, Contagion
CW/TW: Mild Pokémon Abuse
********************************
“First try, huh, Asp? I guess you really have been paying attention during my pokéball throwing lessons.”
“I suppose I have.”
Aspen’s chest filled with pride as he looked down at his freshly used pokéball. Instead of being scratched up like the others, this one was fresh from the center. It shone and glittered in his palm as he held it up to admire it. This was the first pokémon he had caught since his journey began – all his other pokémon had either been given to him or had been abandoned by their last trainers, so he was quite out of practice.
Fervia slapped him on the back, almost knocking Aspen over.
“Those things are hard to catch, too, jumpin’ all over the place…”
Aspen smiled, putting the pokéball on his belt. “Hopefully, this is only the first of many.”
“Poetic as always, eh?”
The pair made their way through the underbrush, planning on their next catch. Fervia had her heart set on an Eevee, since she could evolve it into whatever she wanted. And, she admitted, they were pretty cute to boot. Aspen, on the other hand, had always had a soft spot for fairy types, and would be more than happy to add a Chansey to his team. He’d always liked healing pokemon more than battling them, anyway.
Fervia was in the middle of reading which stones caused which evolutions in Eevees when Aspen suddenly stopped in the middle of the path.
“Did you hear that?”
“Hear what?” Fervia asked, not looking up.
“That snapping sou-”
Aspen couldn’t even finish his sentence before his feet were suddenly swept out from under him, and his entire body was yanked into the air. The world spun around him, only coming to a stop when he was thoroughly dizzy. When he could finally open his eyes without feeling sick, Aspen was hanging upside down by the ankles, something hard and cold wrapped around his ankles.
“Now, what’ve we got here?”
Aspen heard a rustling in the bushes, and craned his head as far as he could. All he could see was a pair of steel-toed boots coming out of the foliage.
“Aw, cripes…snf!...another pair of junior scouts.”
Another voice piped up not far behind.
“Like, bummer. You’ll get ‘em next time, babe. Ocean’s full of waves, y’know?”
Just at the edge of his vision, a pair of dirt-covered water shoes sidled beside them. Aspen could suddenly feel Fervia struggling against him.
“Ngh…what’s the big idea?” she groaned, blindly reaching out her arms.
“The big idea, luv,” the first voice replied, “is catchin’ the pokémon that run through this path with my state of the art equipment. But then you muckers had to…snf!...muck it all up!”
Aspen tried to lift himself up, but only got about as far as his waist.
“Well, it is a bit difficult to see your traps. Perhaps you should put up a sign or something?” he strained, wincing as the metal dug into his ankles.
“Oh, yeah, sure, as if pokémon can’t read,” their captor replied. “Tell you this for free – you don’t know the first thing about trapping pokémon.”
Aspen wanted to say that she didn’t seem to know either, but he held his tongue.
Fervia, however, wasn’t so wise.
“Why don’tcha just battle pokemon like everybody else? Can’t throw a pokéball?”
“‘S more effective,” came the short reply.
“Hah! I betcha can’t catch a Rattata with this thing.”
The ropes above them strained as Fervia fought against their restraints. Metal squealed on metal as Aspen’s stomach dropped.
“I caught you lot, didn’t I?”
Fervia grunted. “Yeah, and if you don’t let us down in three seconds, I’m gonna - ”
CRACK!
The steel ropes snapped in two, sending the pair tumbling to the ground. Luckily, the soil had few rocks, and a bit of moss to cushion his fall. But Aspen still saw stars, the sudden impact knocking the wind out of him. He instinctively laid his hand on the pokéballs on his belt as he laid on the ground.
One. Two. Three. Four.
All there.
“Careful what you wish for there, luv!” their captor guffawed, only pausing to cough from the dust they had kicked up upon landing.
She kept laughing as Fervia helped Aspen to his feet. Though the fall was painful, it at least gave them a chance to get a good look at the pair in front of them.
The steel-toed boots belonged to a tall woman with long, jet-black hair and a pair of dark, shining eyes to match. Aspen recognized her outfit – it was one that would-be explorers often wore when they stopped by their village on their way to reach the top of a nearby mountain. Thin cargo shorts, a charcoal gray shirt, and a flimsy vest, all topped off with a large hat folded and pinned on one side with a steel-gray button. The splattering of freckles on her nose scrunched in her mirth, and she scrubbed it with a gloved finger.
Like a Ducklett next to a Liepard, the other stranger stood, with a large blue backpack to match his shoes. He seemed to be carrying enough for both of them, with odds and ends spilling out of the pockets and between the zippers. But, despite his petite frame, he held the weight well, even leaning nonchalantly against a nearby tree. He was even less dressed for the weather than his partner was – a pair of seafoam green shorts and a white tank top.
More for the beach than a mountain, Aspen thought.
The man fished something out of his pocket, offering it to the woman. It was a pack of tissues, already open and half gone. The woman snatched one out of the packet and blew her nose, then started with a snort.
“Huh-? Hah…HAH-! HYAA’TSHUUUH!”
“Aw, man, did I grab the scented ones?”
The man looked on the back of the package while the woman wiped her nose on her sleeve.
“Run on home, kiddies,” she sniffled, trying to clean up her running nose. “We’ve got Pokemon to catch, and we don’t need ya steppin’ in any more of our traps.”
“You probably scared ‘em all away with that sneeze,” Fervia snapped back. “Besides, if you don’t wanna catch real trainers, maybe you shouldn’t set your traps all over the walking path!”
The woman’s eyes flashed, her cheeks turning as red as her nose. Her partner put a hand on her shoulder.
“Anortha, maybe we should, like, head back to the center. Get you checked out. That Toxicroak-”
“Putta sock in it, Wade,” Anortha growled.
Even though it had been a while since Aspen had seen Toxicroak in the Pokedex, he knew all about both the pokémon’s aggression and their many poison moves. If she had tried to catch it with one of her faulty traps, the Toxicroak probably wouldn't have been too happy about it.
No wonder Anortha felt ill.
With a sudden twinge of compassion, Aspen tried to pull Fervia aside.
“Fervia, I don’t think -”
Fervia jerked away from his touch. Meanwhile, a grin had appeared on Anortha’s face, like an Arbok ready to strike.
“You think I’m not a real trainer, eh? Well…”
Anortha reached into the backpack Wade was holding and pulled out a gray pokéball unlike any Aspen had ever seen. The back of the ball was covered in wires, and dark burn marks surrounded the clasp. Anortha’s grin grew even wider.
“Why don’tcha prove it, then, luv?”
Before Aspen could stop her, Fervia had already stepped up to the clearing, brandishing her own pokéballs.
“I’ll show ya what an adventurer really looks like.”
In the blink of an eye, they threw their pokéballs into the clearing to reveal their pokémon. Anortha’s ball popped, buzzed, and spun before a Magnemite dizzily made its way to the center. Fervia’s Charmeleon joined it, brandishing its claws and fans with a whip of its fiery tail. Despite his concern, Aspen was still proud of Fervia’s strategy in her choice. Fire-types are one of Steel-types primary weaknesses – if she played her cards right, this battle would be over soon enough.
“I’ll give ya a head start,” Fervia said, smirking. “You’re gonna need it.”
Anortha, who seemed a little less confident now, still stood her ground.
“Your funeral, kid- snf! Magnemite! Use Gyro Ball!”
The Magnemite’s magnets began to spin around its body, and it charged towards Charmeleon.
“Charmeleon! Fire Fang!”
With practiced timing, Charmeleon jumped, then brought its red-hot fangs down onto Magnemite’s sensitive screw. Magnemite screeched in pain as part of the screw began to melt.
“Again!” Anortha cried, completely ignoring her pokémon’s distress. “‘N look where you're going this time!”
After a final whirring whimper, Magnemite did as it was told. But, with every charge, Charmeleon met it with a scorching canine or a swinging tail. Fervia was laser-focused, leading attack after attack, until Magnemite was covered with red, pulsing burns and dents. Anortha had turned just as red, barking orders to no avail.
“Oy, turn around! Left! Your other left, you bloody piece of scrap metal!”
As Magnemite tottered towards Charmeleon again, Charmeleon, with a sharp-toothed smile, puffed up its cheeks and blew a cloud of smoke into Magnemite’s face. The smoke blew past the clearing, and surrounded Anortha.
“Koff! Get that - koff! Use…use…!”
Her next order faltered as her nose began to twitch. Anortha jammed a finger under her nose.
“G-Gyro…bah…hah-!”
Her eyes crossed to look at her flaring nostrils as her chest rose and fell with every gasping hitch. Though she tried to tell Magnemite to attack, her desperate gestures were no use.
“B-Blimey-! I…gah-! By…d-dose…hah-! HAH-!”
She leaned back, her quivering nose high in the air. Charmeleon and Magnemite stopped their battle to look at Anortha, then looked at each other.
“GAH-! HAAAH-!”
The pokemon leaped from either side of the clearing, out of the way of Anortha’s powerful nose.
Fervia, however, wasn’t so lucky.
“HYYYA’TCHHHHHUUUUUH!”
The enormous sneeze sprayed across the clearing, covering Fervia in a fine mist. She spluttered and staggered away from the clearing. Meanwhile, through her snot-soaked sleeve, Anortha whispered to Wade through gritted teeth, who reluctantly joined her with a blue pokéball in hand. With Fervia indisposed, Aspen had no choice but to speak up.
“Oh, erm, hold on a moment! I thought this was a one on one match!”
Still wiping her streaming nose, Anortha snickered.
“I don’d - snf! - see a referee, d’you, mate?”
Wade threw his pokéball to the ground, and a Squirtle with blue sunglasses rolled out on its shell. It looked around confusedly, then stared at its owner.
“I know, dude,” Wade said, rubbing the back of his neck. “You’re not a battling pokémon. But, like, you know how Anortha is. Especially when she’s losing. Just a few Water Guns and we can chillax, ‘kay?”
The Squirtle shrugged, did a “right on” gesture with its claws, then put its sunglasses into its shell. Aspen’s heart sank. Charmeleon could deal with one opponent while its trainer was focused, but now with a second Water-type opponent and a distracted Fervia…
“Okay, dude! Show off those rad waves you’ve been practicing!”
Squirtle nodded, retreating into its shell. Suddenly, a beam of water burst out of the shell’s opening, shooting the pokémon high into the air. Without Fervia’s direction, Charmeleon squinted at the sky and went from side to side, trying to dodge whatever attack came its way.
When Squirtle was at the peak of its ascent, it spun towards Charmeleon, took a moment to aim, then spewed a massive wave of water onto the clearing. Even if Charmeleon had seen it coming, there was no way he could dodge it.
By the time the wave passed, Charmeleon was flat on its stomach, its tail only barely flickering.
“Charmeleon!” Fervia cried.
Charmeleon shakily pushed itself up by the claws, only just keeping its balance. Anortha did her signature guffaw, though it was cut off by a rough cough.
“That’s more lige it! Alright, Magnemite, let’s try this again. Use - snf! - Gyro Ball!”
Magnemite bobbed in the air, looking down at Charmeleon. It let out a scraping whine, its magnets slowly circling.
“C’mon, while he’s down! What are you waiding for?!”
Aspen knew that the attack would be enough to not only knock him out of the battle, but do some real damage. With how wet Charmeleon was, the electric attack would fry him.
Even if it was against battle protocol, he had to do something.
While Anortha was distracted with her reluctant Magnemite, he slowly took a pokéball from his belt.
“Wade!” Anortha said, turning to her partner. “Do the - snf! - wave again! Thad’ll take the sucker out!”
The Squirtle was lying on its back, sunbathing. Wade shook his head.
“No can do, babe. That attack took a lot out of him. He’s gotta, like, chill first before he does another battle.”
Anortha growled in frustration, turning back to her own pokémon.
“If you don’t blast that Charbeleon back into its pokéball,” she said, her voice getting dangerously quiet. “I’ll use ya as bait for a real mean Arbok I’ve been trackin’.”
Magnemite squeaked, and its magnets slowly began to turn, picking up speed as it went towards the stumbling Charmeleon. Aspen threw his pokeball into the clearing.
“Gogoat, I choose you!”
Just as Magnemite was about to make contact, one of its magnets was caught on a large horn. Aspen’s Gogoat stood in front of Charmeleon, steam streaming out of its nostrils. Gogoat bucked its head, causing Magnemite to fly backwards.
“No, no!” Anortha cried. “You can’d just…I was about to…you can’d just throw your bleedin’ pokémon into the ring!”
Aspen chuckled, allowing himself a small smile.
“I don’t see a referee, do you?”
Fervia laughed, though still splattered with the remains of their opponent's sneeze. As Anortha sputtered, Aspen nodded to Gogoat, pointing at the dazed Magnemite.
“Use Earthquake!”
Gogoat bleated, and large rocks formed above the clearing. They hurdled towards a still bumbling Magnemite, and made impact with the loud crunch and crackle of stone. As the rocks crumbled, Magnemite was slowly revealed underneath, unmoving.
“YA RUSTY OLD TIN CAN!”
Anortha ran into the cleaning, trying to prop Magnemite up inside the crater. But he only fell down again, completely faint. Wade replaced her in combat, but Aspen had already planned for his Water type attacks.
“Gogoat! Razor Leaf!”
Gogoat pawed its hoof into the earth, charging up his attack.
“Like, do your Water Gun! Hurry!” Wade said, his voice cracking.
Squirtle pursed its lips and filled its cheeks, shooting out short blasts of water. Gogoat easily dodged the weak attacks, then, with a stomp of its hooves, released its attack. Swirls of sharp leaves surrounded Squirtle and Anortha, who was still in the clearing. Squirtle retreated into its shell, but it was no use. By the time the attack ended, Squirtle was flat on its shell, with cracked sunglasses halfway off its face.
“Squirtle! Dude!” Wade cried, putting Squirtle back into its pokéball.
Anortha stood up, nudging the limp Magnemite to the side with her foot.
“I want a rema- a remaaAA’TCHUUUUH!”
The pollen from the Razor Leaf was still heavy in the air. Wade put an arm around her shoulders, offering up the package of tissues.
“Babe, we need to get our pokémon to the center. And you too. You don’t, like, look so good.”
“I want a - snf! - rebatch,” Anortha said, more quietly this time.
“I know, I know. I bet we’ll see them again. Small world, right?”
“HYYAA’TCHUUUUUH!”
“Let’s get you to see Nurse Joy, ‘kay? Just let me get Magnemite, and - ”
“Ndo. Leave thad pile of garbage where he belongs - TCHUUH!”
With a small apologetic look, Wade had no choice but to leave with Anortha, her sneezes still echoing through the forest long after they were gone.
**************************************
“Huh…HRA’KSHIIIIIEW!”
“More tea?”
“Snf…yeah.”
Fervia held out her small metal cup, and Aspen filled it.
“She didn’d even give be the winning fee,” Fervia mumbled. “All she gave be was her stupid cold.”
Aspen chuckled. “Well, that isn’t all she gave you.”
He looked towards Magnemite, who was playing Charmeleon. A few of the bigger dents were taken care of at the center, but it was still covered in scratches and chips.
“I guess so,” Fervia said, sniffling.
Aspen frowned, sipping from his own cup.
“Is something on your mind? You’ve been in a sour mood since the battle – even before you came down with a cold.”
Fervia looked into the campfire for a long time, then sighed.
“I thought I was gedding better. At battling, I bean. I thought I didn’d need you to come and save be anybore. It seems like every time something happens, you have to fix all of it. And it’s by fault.”
“Oh, Fervia…”
Aspen smiled.
“You are getting better. Just because you need help, or make a mistake, doesn’t change that. If Anortha hadn’t cheated, you most likely would have won that battle. But that’s why you must always be prepared.”
Aspen looked down at his tea, swirling it from side to side in his cup.
“Because some just don’t care to play fairly.”
“Aspen?”
Aspen looked up, smiling again.
“Let’s get some rest, shall we? Perhaps we can go to the hot springs tomorrow. That should help your cold.”
Fervia squinted, but her tiredness overcame her curiosity, and she was soon asleep in her sleeping bag. Aspen rolled over on his back, looking up at the stars as he slowly drifted off.

Hey, y’all! I just had a couple questions, if that’s okay.
First, the idea of Legendary Pokémon being seen as Deities/Religious Figures is cool as heck. I would love to see that expanded upon at some point. But anyways, onto the question. You said that the Legendaries can only be caught when they want to be, but can they be forcefully captured by Master Balls? Or are they immune to all forms of capture via Pokéball?
Second was about MissingNo/Ketsuban. Is MissingNo sentient? It was said in the “Types of Glitch/Anomaly” thing that Malfunctions like MissingNo are “the most unfiltered version of a Glitch’s will,” and as a result, are the most malicious. Does (he? she? they? it?) it have a goal when it comes to corrupting things? Or is it its chaotic nature that makes it so dangerous?
(Would it be wrong of me to think of/see MissingNo as some sort of a parasite?)
[Master Balls, I imagine, are something of a hot topic because they can catch any Pokemon- including legendaries. It's why they're so rare- not only because an item that powerful is so difficult to manufacture, but because of the moral arguments of a Pokemon captured so forcibly, and potential for misuse.
Pokemon and humans live harmoniously- they give each other assistance and benefits when working together. Often, a wild Pokemon that is caught allows itself to be caught and choses to follow its trainer, once their strength and ability to lead is proven to it in a battle (though the effectiveness of a used pokeball still is a factor).
Legendaries take this to the highest extreme. Often in the games- particularly the box legendaries- they'll be captured at the peak of the story, where working with the protagonist is necessary to stop a greater evil. At this point, they've likely been watching for a while, having seen the hero's heart for what it is. The battle in which you can catch them, in my mind, serves as a "final trial-" to weaken it before it officially joins your party, having deemed you worthy and aligned with its goal, duty, desires, etc! Effectively, this means the protagonist is something of a chosen one. Fun, huh?
Postgame legendaries and mythicals, I imagine, follow a similar rule- it's a matter of, you've already proven your strength, and they are willing to bow if you seek them out.
However, I do believe most of this is a temporary arrangement. They've still got a duty to fufill in most cases, whatever that may be- they'll follow, obey, and remain allied with a chosen trainer, but I think that often soon after their journey ends, they'll head their seperate ways and return to the wild. And a good-hearted trainer, like the heroes they would choose, would gladly let them go.
If they don't, these Gods are more than powerful enough to put them in their place and leave by force.
Anyways this is why you can just casually see box and other regional legendaries in seemingly unrelated games later on. They don't remain with one trainer forever (they just still really like that One Guy)!]
[As for MissingNo, well. Can't say much.
But, y'know... All animals have simple goals when it comes down to it.
Survive. Spread. Thrive.]
[... Ace has a lot of theories regarding glitch Pokemon, though. Of course their knowledge is limited, but maybe they'd be good to ask, too!]
#mn qna#[this is largely speculative worldbuilding so bear in mind this isn't Gospel atm but it is how I'm going about thinkin of things!]

My interpretation of Pokémon protagonists: Johto 1
I know Gold's name is actually Ethan but I'm referring to him as Gold because I'm specifically talking about GSC here and not HGSS (I'll probably do one of these for Lyra/Ethan as well once I've played the games)
-Gold and Kris are friends and travel together for fun
-they bicker a lot but they find each other amusing so they stick around
-they're freshly 14
-Kris picked Totodile and Gold chose Cyndaquil
-they're well known around the neighborhood and are seen as the cool kids. They have a bunch of people's phone numbers saved in their transceivers
-they both do the gyms but Kris is more interested in catching Pokémon and Gold doesn't really have huge ambitions to be champion either
-Kris travels on her bike and Gold has his skateboard
-they're both pretty laid back but Gold is a lot more chaotic and gets side tracked easily while Kris is the one that always has to steer them back in the right direction
-Kris by contrary gets much more stubborn and hot-headed during Pokémon battles though
-when they're not traveling they like to help out in the Pokémon daycare and raise eggs
-they're big fans of Red and screamed in pure excitement when Prof. Elm gave them tickets to travel to Kanto
-Gold actually already owned a Pokémon before choosing Cyndaquil, an Aipom he caught when he was younger
-Kris had always been jealous of him for that but that quickly faded when she's the one that received the Togepi egg from the professor
-their bags are stuffed full with custom made Pokéballs and apricorns they collected

S31K0_ZIP20 / R3!K0_ZIP18
S31K0 and R3!K0 are my Poképasta ocs and I would like to introduce these two to the Poképasta fandom and I hope they will be accepted. I’m not really deep into the fandom yet but I have learned about it by a few friends who have shared lore about the fandom itself.
Now the numbers by the “ZIP” is their canon ages, Reiko is 18 and Seiko is 20. They both appear in Pokémon SoulSilver. In which they were on a journey to train and evolve their Pokémon. Here is their Pokémon team:
If you’re wondering why they have different names here, it’s because their original name was Lindsey and Disney, but I changed it cause it sounded very weird. So I decided to change it to S31K0 and R3!K0. Those names will always stay the same. Also this was on Discord from like many weeks ago.
S31K0’s main Pokémon is a Charmeleon on Level 39. And R3!K0’s MAIN Pokémon is Blastoise when Wartortle leveled up to Level 36. But we’re not gonna forget their other Pokémon! :)
S31K0 and R3!K0 grew up in the Kanto region where they went to Pokémon Academy as beginner trainers. That is where they first met their first ever Pokémons, Squirtle and Charmander. They both were at the start of evolution at the time so it took a while for them to evolve. But as time passed by they were given more Pokémon, which resulted in a positive impact of having a team.
At the time, S31K0 was 18 and R3!K0 was 16 after she just finished Pokémon Academy, excited to tell her parents the news, she rushed to her parents and confidently told them she would have a dream to become a champion one day and maybe even train on top of Mt. Silver. At first, her parents were unsure about this since Mt. Silver was not a very accessible place and it was super cold up there. They weren’t sure.
Of course, they had to support their younger daughter, so they said “O-of course sweetie. We believe in your dreams-!” Her mom said hesitantly, obviously there was worry in her voice but R3!K0 didn’t seem to catch onto it.
S31K0, on the other hand, wasn’t too happy to find out about her sister’s “dreams”. Seiko went to her room and told her she just needed to find a safer way to become a champion rather than just confidently going to Mt. Silver all by herself. A lot of…”slip-ups” had happened there. Reiko, believing that Seiko didn’t want her to accomplish her dreams, got angry and said that she will do this without her sister’s protection.
“I can do this whether you like it or not. I don’t need you…BABYING me all the time sis! This is my time to shine! My time to become a champion like the past ones before me! It’s my DESTINY!”
“Well Arceus was a fool to choose this destiny for you anyways. No harm…you need to choose a s-“
“No! I’m done with you! I’m going to leave.”
“REIKO! DONT YOU DARE LEAVE THIS HOUSE-!”
And with that, Reiko had stormed off and grabbed her Pokéball, and her backpack, and taking out an evolved Blastoise. Reiko stared back at her house one last time. Blastoise looked at Reiko with a worried expression on his face as he stared at her. Reiko then gently petted Blastoise and said…
“They don’t understand me like you do. Don’t worry. We’re going to do this and become the champions of all Kanto.”
Little did Reiko know, her journey would be much harder than she anticipated. She began walking with her Pokémon as they walked many miles, taking breaks on benches and then walking again, as they made it to the mountain, looking at the top of the peak. It was getting quite cold, so Reiko stuffed a scarf around her neck as she went in with Blastoise. Mt. Silver was known for being off-limits to all but the most skilled of Trainers. But Reiko was one of them.
Reiko was determined to push herself through this cold, frosty atmosphere as she trudged and trudged towards, the snow almost reaching to her knees as she struggled to stay close, it started getting colder and colder as her fingers felt like they were about to fall off, the cold air making her body pale.
Her Blastoise tried its best to make her warm, but she said for Blastoise to stop because she didn’t want Blastoise to get hurt or anything. After all; she cared very deeply for the ones she loved the most. But unfortunately for her, a snowstorm blew and she was buried deep inside. Blastoise panicked and tried to uncover the snow from her cold, freezing body.
But unfortunately, it was too late. She had already been frozen to death by frostbite.
Seiko was unaware of the danger that Reiko had put herself in as she stared at her computer, trying to finish something. She waited patiently until Reiko came back. She knew it would be hard…Right? Until then, some people had found out about R3!K0’s death, and told Seiko the news. No. No. Nononono. This is all her fault. This is all Seiko’s fault. She should’ve chased Reiko. Not leave her out like this. She shouldn’t have done that. She regrets it.
Time in the real world had passed by, causing the game to become old and decrepit, which led to multiple files becoming corrupted. Including the NPCs and the characters. S31K0 was included, and was unfortunately glitched. She hated this life. Finding out she was just a made-up character that didn’t even exist. She wants her sister back. She hates it all.
This lore may be kind inaccurate but I tried my best and that’s what matters so uh thanks for reading!

It’s evening now. I guess I should update you all about what happened since my last post.
The man we followed was Professor Oak, a famous researcher of Pokémon known for creating the first Pokédex. He was gentle about what happened at Route 1, but I felt he had some reservations about my actions, and that’s okay.
To dissolve the tension, he offered me one of three starters: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Seeing all of them outside their PokéBalls was so cute, but I couldn’t choose one between all three! Paulo tried to help by showing me videos of their final evolutions, and holy shoot, they were all so cool! Like, Charizard is an offensive beast of a dragon that has been used in competitive play by several of the strongest trainers in the world, Venasaur is a tanky quadruped with a gentle personality and a beautiful flower on its back, and Blastoise is a large blue turtle that shoots jetstreams of water from cannons. CANNONS! How much cooler can they get!?
Yet again, I could only choose one. After some time, I decided to go with Bulbasaur. The Charmander was pretty shy, and the Squirtle was extremely enthusiastic. However, I felt a spark of connection with the small bulbed dinosaur. After doing some technological wizardry, the professor gave me Bulbasaur’s PokéBall. I wondered if all trainers felt a similar excitement when they got their starters.
Paulo offered to teach me the basics of battling. We decided to head back to Route 1 because it had some secluded battling spots. Professor Oak came to mediate the fight. He let Paulo borrow Charmander for the match, and I was given a rundown on the Rotom Phone’s battling functions
Did you all know that all the information about a trainer’s Pokémon is wirelessly communicated to the trainer’s Rotom Phone, including stats, moves, and other data? This makes it easier to switch a Pokémon’s registered moves for official battles and coordinate training regimens for competitive play. Since Bulbasaur knew only three moves, Oak had already registered them as Bulbsaur’s official moves.
We took positions in a clearing near the main route and sent out our Pokémon. Paulo’s Charmander was scared to battle, but Bulbasaur was ready to go. We checked our phones for our Pokémons’ speeds, and since his Charmander was faster, he was given the first move.
He led off with a Growl, lowering Bulbasaur’s attack and possibly giving me a free turn. I decided to go for a Growl in return, just to be safe. He had Charmander go for a Scratch. It charged. I flinched back as Bulbasaur took the hit. I checked Bulbasaur’s HP; it was still in the green. Paulo told me I could order my Pokémon to dodge during a battle, which was good advice. I ordered Bulbasaur to tackle Charmander, and the hit connected, but the fire lizard still stood its ground.
We kept trading blows, occasionally telling our Pokémon to dodge. Soon, Bulbasaur could barely stand. The Charmander was raring for a victory. Paulo ordered one final Scratch. I tried to tell my Bulbasaur to dodge, but the Charmander had already closed the gap. Bulbasaur was sent flying across the stage. I dashed and caught him. His eyes closed from exhaustion, body covered in shallow claw marks. Paulo recalled his Charmander as I held my small dinosaur tight.
Professor Oak took him off my hands and held out a multi-pointed yellow crystal. He placed it on Bulbasaur’s forehead. A green light enveloped it and the creature. The crystal disintegrated, its dust turning the wounds into specks of white light. Bulbasaur opened his eyes. He jumped out of the professor’s arms, refreshed with new life.
Paulo prepared to return Charmander to Oak, but Oak advised that he keep the starter since it seemed to like Paulo. We couldn’t tell if he was lying or telling the truth. Yet, I think Paulo was relieved to keep the starter.
We bid the professor farewell as we returned to the hotel at Viridian City. Looker and Paulo are leaving tomorrow afternoon to catch their respective planes, so they’ll be spending tonight packing. Bulbasaur– who I nicknamed Kale– is munching greedily away at some Pokémon kibble. I still need to shop and learn to catch Pokémon, so I’ll be spending the rest of the night prepping a shopping list for my journey and answering any questions you all have.
Oh! And to update the previous post, the Eevee’s PokéBall wasn’t there anymore. I’m guessing either the trainer returned for it or someone else picked it up. Still, I hope the Eevee ran to somewhere safe.
Well, I hope you all have a great evening, and may your sleep be filled with good dreams!

Across Space, Time and Dreams (ASTaD) (Ch. 26- Part 3 of 3)
(Blankshippers DNI)
(Please refer to beginning of chapter 1 post for complete list of CWs/TWs)
(Extra notes:)

"Precisely!" Mrs. Hagen stated.
"Well, while it would be a lie to say I'm not happy about this...what about you? And Alvis? What about any possible Pokémon family or friends?" As thrilled as Ingo was that Dyrsma wanted to be with him, he didn't just want to go down this track recklessly.
"Oh, I wouldn't worry about that. Dyrsma doesn't have any family, he was a stray egg given to us, and while he does have a couple of buddies, he hasn't had much of a chance to make any real good pals. He's only a few weeks old, after all!" Mrs. Hagen explained. "Dyrsma also mentioned a Litwick and Klink he began making friends with! I presume those are yours?"
Ingo nodded, smiling at the news that Dyrsma considered Litwick and Klink its friends.
Soon, Alvis returned with a Pokéball and some papers, and Mrs. Hagen continued.
"You all showed Dyrsma kindness and friendship, and that you're willing to take care of him, just like us here at the Daycare. Dyrsma has only developed a few attachments, and it seems his attachments to you and your Pokémon is the strongest among them!"
Ingo was taken aback, but in a good way. He smiled, laughing.
"Well, all I can say is I'm honored! I have indeed grown quite attached to Dyrsma, so I'm thrilled he feels the same way!"
Alvis handed the Pokéball to Ingo, placing some paperwork in front of him on the desk.
"This is Dyrsma's Pokéball! All you need to do is fill out this paperwork and you two will be good to go!"
Ingo took the Pokéball and held it, his eyes sparkling. He looked up at Dyrsma, who's eyes shined back.
"Well, Dyrsma, you're in for some interesting rides! Are you ready to go down these tracks with us?" Ingo voiced.
Dyrsma squealed and hopped off the desk, Ingo laughing and catching Dyrsma, moving him to one arm.
After making itself comfortable, Dyrsma yawned, reaching towards the Pokéball.
"Of course you can rest for now. And Dyrsma? Thank you for choosing this track. I couldn't be happier!" Ingo vocalized.
Dyrsma chirped happily, before Ingo gently tapped the Pokéball on Dyrsma's head. It didn't hesitate to go inside.
Ingo held the Pokéball with two hands and looked at it for a moment, before nodding and putting it in on his Pokébelt with his other two, who he could feel an excited aura from. They were certainly happy about their new friend!
A third partner Pokémon...bravo!
Ingo took a pencil from a cup on the desk and was more than happy to fill in the necessary paperwork.
When Ingo was done, Alvis took the papers, ready to take them to the back.
"Alvis, Mrs. Hagen?" Ingo spoke as he prepared to leave, "Thank you so, so much!"
Alvis and Mrs. Hagen smiled.
"Of course!"
After having left the Daycare, Ingo was easily able to catch the night train from Driftviel to Nimbasa City. Good, his last trip for today- his engines were running a bit low on fuel.
Ingo sat down among the many empty seats, before taking Dyrsma's Pokéball off from his Pokébelt and holding it in front of him.
"Dyrsma, you've got more new family and friends to meet soon! Is that okay? Are you excited?"
Dyrsma's Pokéball shook up and down in a fast motion. The answer was clear; 'Yes!'
"Excellent!" Ingo exclaimed "For now, you can keep taking your nap. You'll get to see your new home in just a little while!"
Dyrsma's Pokéball shook again in excitement and content. Ingo chuckled, reattaching Dyrsma's Pokéball to his Pokébelt.
Then, Ingo reached into his pocket and took out his phone. He eagerly dialed Emmet's number, putting the phone to his ear as he awaited an answer.
Emmet picked up rather quickly. "I am Emmet." He answered.
"Emmet! I'm on my way home, and guess what?" Ingo responded.
"Hi, Ingo! Good to know you will be home soon. You sound excited. Did something happen?" Emmet asked.
"Yes! Something happened, and I called you to tell you all about it!" Ingo replied, "Listen well, because-- well, most of it, anyways-- will make you say, 'bravo!'!"
-
Ingo blinked, tears rolling down his face as the rush of thoughts and emotions began to calm. He, as he always did, found himself returning to reality as his mind's showcase of the memory faded away and secured itself in its rightful place. Ingo wiped away his tears, although more- although smaller and less quick to appear- came after.
Haxorus was the first to take a step forward, its gaze gentle and caring. It, with caution, carefully nudged Ingo with its head, rumbling softly, as if to ask, “Are you okay? Did you remember?”
Chandelure floated just a bit closer, emitting a soft chiming noise, the warmth of her flames providing comfort.
After taking a moment or two to process everything, and to find his words, Ingo smiled up at Haxorus, offering the half of the Oran Berry it had given him.
“Here. Take this. You trust me, don't you? We're family.”
At that, Haxorus almost seemed as if it may cry itself, snuffling softly. The Axe Jaw Pokémon gently and gratefully took the Oran Berry from Ingo's palm with its mouth, savoring its taste. Ingo approached Haxorus further, Haxorus thinking the same thing Ingo was- the dragon reached out its tail and wrapped it around its trainer's back, pulling him in for an embrace. Ingo chuckled heartily and reached out his arms, giving Haxorus a big hug.
After some beats passed, Haxorus chirped quietly, the tip of its tail waving towards Chandelure, who let off a soft, happy aura, having remained quiet.
Ingo used his head to turn towards Chandelure and gesture to her in an invitation towards her to join them along with Haxorus.
Chandelure's flames crackled softly, and she gratefully approached, wrapping both the gentle dragon and her beloved trainer in a group embrace with her appendages.
After about a minute or so, the two Pokémon and their trainer slowly stepped back from the affectionate gesture. Ingo could feel the grateful, happy auras coming from the two Pokémon, Haxorus’ the strongest. Ingo felt an intense happiness and relief in his own heart, along with his mind.
“Thank you. Haxorus. For leading me here, for helping me- for believing in me. Everything I did was worth meeting you and more- I'm so grateful you decided to stick by my side. Bravo, Haxorus!”
Ingo turned to Chandelure,
“And Chandelure? Thank you for always being such a good help. You've led us down our tracks from the very beginning. You are an excellent partner.”
Ingo felt himself tearing up again, wiping away the tears.
“I love you guys.”
Haxorus chirped and rumbled happily, nuzzling its head against Ingo's shoulder. Ingo returned the favor by reaching out and gently scratching Haxorus’ belly.
Chandelure flames brightened, providing its warmth and familiar light.
A beat later, Haxorus took a step back, Ingo taking a deep breath. Then, he spoke,
“I suppose it's about time we return back to the others, no?”
Haxorus snuffled, Chandelure whistling, their sounds soft and content. Ingo nodded, glad that his beloved partner Pokémon agreed. He took in another breath, lifting his shoulders and eyeing the path back outside.
“Alright, then! All aboard! Back down these tracks we go!”
-
Ingo, Haxorus and Chandelure steadily made their way back out of Mistralton Cave, walking a few more yards until the clearing they had set up camp in came into sight. Alvis was sitting down on the soft grass next to the sleeping bag, doing some paperwork, presumably for the Daycare. Meanwhile, the Pokémon that hadn't entered Mistralton cave were either resting, playing, taking a small look around, or something of the like.
Ingo waved his arm in the air, shouting out towards the others, Haxorus chirping and Chandelure chiming.
“Hello, everyone! We're back!” Ingo announced.
The attention of Alvis and the Pokémon immediately snapped towards Ingo, Haxorus and Chandelure. They all seemed glad and excited that they had returned.
“How was it? Did you succeed in what you wanted?” Alvis inquired. The other Pokémon seemed curious about this too, chattering amongst themselves and occasionally towards Ingo, Haxorus, and Chandelure. Klinklang was the most forward in its curiosity, levatitating towards Ingo and making a series of clunking noises. It seemed hopeful, as did the rest.
Ingo nodded, chuckling happily, “Indeed, we did! It was quite the revelation. If I'm being honest, I'm still processing it a bit, but….I know that memory is back where it belongs.”
Ingo glanced at Klinklang, reaching out to pat it gently.
“And Klinklang? Bravo, excellent! Thank you for your help back then when we first found Haxorus, in that battle….we couldn't have done it without you.”
Klinklang's lower gear began to spin even faster in a sign of joy, the Pokémon emitting a pleased buzzing noise.
The other Pokémon celebrated as well, Alvis nodding gladly and smiling.
“That's great, Ingo!”
Ingo stepped towards Alvis and met the other man's gaze.
“Alvis- I want to thank you. You've helped me so much today, and in the past- multiple times, too. Thank you for everything you've done. I, and Haxorus, wouldn't be where we are today without you.”
Alvis’ gentle grin widened, and he felt a twinge of gratitude and warmth in his chest. He was thankful he could help Ingo.
“Of course! I'm a family friend, after all.”
Haxorus shared Ingo's sentiment, slowly and carefully approaching the man. Its eyes shined gratefully, and it used its tail to pat Alvis on the head.
Alvis’ eyes widened, but he laughed brightly.
“You're welcome, too, Haxorus- it's my pleasure.”
Ingo smiled, his eyes glimmering, acknowledging Alvis’ words, happy to hear them, and happy to see the short but sweet interaction between Haxorus and Alvis.
Haxorus drew back its tail, and after some more words and gestures were exchanged, it was clear this mission was coming to a close. Still, the group had quite a bit they could do with the time they had left.
As they all settled back down, Alvis continued his paperwork and the Pokémon chattered amongst themselves. Then, Ingo clasped his hands together and announced, his voice loud and clear,
“Okay, everyone! We're going to stay here for a few more hours! So let's have some fun!”
Alvis laughed softly to himself, the Pokémon letting out noises of agreement and eagerness.
“Bravo, excellent!” Ingo exclaimed, feeling gleeful and fulfilled.
-
One of the activities Ingo decided to do was go over some of the details he had remembered in his memory, and see if it held up today.
Ingo, with Haxorus at his side, explored the area- taking a look at trees, seeing how the other Axew, Fraxure and Haxorus living in and around the cave would mark their territory by carving marks on the trees with their tusks. The newest carvings appeared to be from this morning.
Ingo smiled as he recalled that Haxorus would often carve similar marks in the few trees that grew in their home's front yard- he had spotted such marks when he had initially returned to the house in Unova.
“I'm glad you feel at home at our house, Haxorus! That is excellent to know!” Ingo voiced.
Haxorus rumbled happily, making a deep sound that almost seemed akin to a laugh. Perhaps as if to say- “Well of course I feel at home, silly.”
Ingo laughed gleefully and nodded in acknowledgment, before thinking of what they should do next.
-
As the hours passed, one by one, the Pokémon had tuckered themselves out, being returned to their Pokéballs for proper rest. Thankfully, they seemed content and fulfilled, the day out having been fun for them- and it was fun for Ingo- as well as Alvis, even if he mostly just did paperwork- too.
By then, the sun was lowering on the west side of the sky. It wasn't a sunset quite yet, but Ingo and Alvis agreed that getting a head start on their way back would be a good idea. At this point, the only Pokémon that remained out of its Pokéball was Haxorus.
Ingo rolled the sleeping bag back up, carefully stuffing it in the camping backpack and zipping it closed. After the trainer tossed the backpack over his shoulders, he turned to Haxorus- who was standing contentedly right to his side- and gave it some good belly scratches.
“Haxorus, would you like to return to your Pokéball to rest?”
Despite definitely feeling a bit tired, Haxorus shook its head, chirping softly. It wanted to take the route home with Ingo- it felt right to do so.
Ingo nodded, happy to let Haxorus continue to stay out of its Pokéball if it so wished, “Alright, then! Just let me know if you want to go inside your Pokéball, alright?”
Ingo gave Haxorus one last belly rub, the Axe Jaw Pokémon snuffling gently, before turning to Alvis and exchanging a knowing nod.
Ingo readjusted his hat, before taking that same stance as he always did, pointing down the dirt path they had come from.
“All aboard to our tracks back home!”
-
Soon, Ingo, Alvis and Haxorus entered Driftviel city, making their way towards the Daycare. It didn't take long to arrive there, and Mrs. Hagen was waiting outside.
Mrs. Hagen spotted the group approaching her, and her face lit up, lifting her hand in a gentle wave.
“Welcome back, Alvis! Ingo, Dyrsma! Did you all have a good day? Did Ingo here get his memory back?” Mrs. Hagen questioned eagerly.
Alvis smiled, glad to know his mother was so happy to see them return.
“Yes, we did have fun!” He spoke.
“I did retrieve my memory! Alvis was a big help!” Ingo added.
Haxorus chirped, sharing Alvis and Ingo's sentiments.
Alvis turned and gave Ingo and Haxorus a wide smile, before stepping towards Mrs. Hagen's side.
Ingo still had a bit to say though. He took a step towards Mrs. Hagen.
“And Mrs. Hagen? Thank you. You've helped myself and Haxorus multiple times throughout the years- even today. Because of that, we've found an excellent track, and I regained my memory as we hoped I would. I couldn't be more grateful.”
Ingo dipped his head in a gesture showing his gratitude.
Haxorus rumbled softly, its tail swishing back and forth, its eyes big and bright, as it showed its own thankfulness.
“Oh, it's never been a problem, my dear!” Mrs. Hagen replied, her grin still wide, “We're always happy to help!”
Mrs. Hagen put on a bit of a baby-voice as she met Haxorus’ gaze,
“And that includes you, of course, dear Dyrsma.”
Alvis smiled as he watched the scene, and Ingo did, too. It filled their hearts with joy.
After a few more words were exchanged, it was decided that it was time to go. Ingo dipped his hat once more, Haxorus chirping brightly.
“Goodbye, Mrs. Hagen, Alvis! Remember your safety checks, and have a wonderful evening!” Ingo said as he and Haxorus walked down the concrete path, waving, Haxorus using its tail to do a similar motion, Alvis and Mrs. Hagen waving in return.
Soon, the Daycare disappeared from sight, and after a little while longer, a train station appeared over the horizon, Ingo feeling a warmth in his heart. He'd be returning home, and would be able to tell the others all about the day's events.
Once they neared the station, Ingo stopped in his tracks, Haxorus doing the same as it noticed its trainer having done so.
“Haxorus, you'll have to get into your Pokéball for the train ride, I'm afraid. Besides, I'm sure you're quite in need of a nap by now, yes?” Ingo spoke.
Haxorus paused for a moment, before its tail wagged slowly, and it moved its head in what seemed to be a slow nodding motion. Indeed, it was due for a nap.
“Don't worry, you'll be more than free to come back out when we get home, of course!” Ingo added, and Haxorus rumbled contentedly.
With that, Ingo took the Axe Jaw Pokémon's Pokéball off of his belt, taking it and gently tapping Haxorus’ head with the device. Haxorus formed into a red light as it returned to its Pokéball, ready to rest for a while.
Ingo hummed to himself as he reattached the Pokéball back to his belt, readjusting the straps of the backpack he was still carrying.
Ingo made his way into the station, entering the train that would take him to Nimbasa city. The train was quite empty tonight, and Ingo sat amongst the rows of available seats, setting the backpack down on the seat beside him.
Ingo inhaled slowly, before letting out that same breath. He also felt a bit worn, but he knew today wasn't quite over, and he was more than okay with that. He'd be able to recover some of his energy on the train, he was sure.
After a moment of quiet, Ingo's phone began to ring. It buzzed loudly in his coat pocket.
The trainer reached into his coat and took out his phone, seeing that it was Emmet that was calling him. Smiling softly, he answered the call and put the device to his ear.
“Hello, Emmet!” Ingo began.
“I am Emmet! Hi, Ingo! Are you on your way home yet?” Emmet inquired.
“Yes, I am! I just got onto the train, in fact!”
“How was it? You regained the memory, correct?”
“I did! It was excellent! Bravo, indeed, brother!”
The twins continued to converse, and Ingo felt Haxorus’ ball shake slightly, a happy aura radiating from it. Ingo smiled.
“Hey, Emmet? Can you take out that picture album? I'd like to take a look at it once I get home!”
“Yup! Sure thing!”
The train rumbled to life, and with that, the ride to Nimbasa City began.

"I dare Izuku to fuck me as hard as he can in his UA dorm room~"
- Francine, giving Izuku her Pokéball
@ask-poke-sluts
Izuku stared at the pokeball in his hands and gulped, steating nervously as this was basically him sneaking a pornstar into the dorms.
"Aw geesh..."
Choosing the best time to do the deed would be lunch, Izuku rushed to the dorms while everyone was away. Releasing Francine from her container, Izuku wasted no time getting to business. He would suck and fondle her large breasts while feeling her stroke his cock as he sat on her lap. Getting both of them nice and ready. Mounting onto her chest, Izuku thrust in between the large valley that was Francine's cleavage. His cock not even poking out due to their size differences. The first load coming out to stain Francine's breasts with strings of cum.
This got the milf pokemon hungry for more as she would mount on him, reverse cowgirl style and bounce on his cock. The meaty flesh of her round cheeks rippling with each slam she made. Izuku moaned and squirmed underneath her as she rode his sensitive length. Each slam down made the photos and figures in his All-Might inspired room shake, as her weight and force were mighty. That and with Francine's tight pussy lips, the water pokemon didn't waste time earning another load as Izuku let out a loud moan.
Izuku panted and closed his eyes, catching his breath, only to feel grinding as Francine wiggled her hips while he was still inside of her.
"You haven't fucked me hard yet~"
Izuku, not one to disappoint anyone, figured there was only one thing he could do to give her what she wanted. One For All, Full-cowling!
The moans turned to screams for Francine as Izuku was flaring green electricity, pinning her against the window of his balcony while holding her arms back. Her breasts pressed firmly against the glass for the outside world as Izuku ravaged her. If anyone were to look up higher to the upper floors, they would see her breasts smother the window. Izuku could hear the cries, his rapid and hard thrusts powered by his Quirk sending the strongest shocks of pleasure she ever felt. What proved that was her premature orgasm that caused her to squirt and make a mess on the floor with her fem juices.
Izuku would pull out, causing whines and whimpers to leave Francine as she wondered why he stopped. Only for her question to be answered as he dragged her back and pinned her to the bed, bending her legs back to take her in the mating press. Each thrust turned Francine's brain to mush as she barely could make coherent sentences.
Izuku felt it, felt he was gonna burst. "I'M ABOUT TO CUM! FRANCINE!" He shouted, getting loud cries of "yes" and "so good". In a sudden motion, Izuku kissed Francine deeply and erupted with immense amounts of cum thanks to his Quirk. The contents filling the Lapras up and expanding her womb, making her stomach inflate a little. Izuku could feel Francine hug his body with her arms and legs to keep him deep inside of her.
Their bodies trembled in the orgasm before breaking their kiss, drool connecting their mouths before parting. Izuku laid in Francine's bossom while the Lapras let out drunk giggles.
