It was a typical early afternoon at Vergil & Edna's home. Ever since Sorey's journey came to it's conclusion and everyone went their separate ways, the two had gotten married, and moved in together enjoying a quiet and peaceful private life with each other after Sorey cleansed the world of malevolence.

Today was a day like any other, the two of were sitting o the couch near the fireplace discussing what to have for dinner tonight, eventually, they just decided to figure it out later as Vergil realized they needed to make a trip to the store after anyway to grab some more flour and a few other general things as well. The couple was enjoying a cup of tea, with the last two pieces of cake from the day before. The weather was starting to get a bit more colder out, so they would have to change to the longer burning firewood soon.

Vergil felt Edna get up off the couch for a moment, he assumed it was to get a second cup of tea as the pot was still fresh, there was enough for four cups, so two each. Flipping a page, Vergil began to become very invested into his book, the plot was really starting to come to life and it was getting really good, he was so absorbed in the book, that he didn't realized Edna had returned from the kitchen. Whenever Vergil was into a book there were times where his focus would entirely shift into his book, just like what was happening right now.

After a few more minutes, he flips the page over to the next page and starts to read it, he can feel a soft warmth on top of the hand that was in his lap, right away, Vergil flipped his upright and took her hand, interlocking their fingers, he felt a slight but sudden jolt as he took her hand, did she really think he wouldn't notice? It was rare for her seek out his attention like this very often, so whenever she did, he always wanted to enjoy the moment with her.

[{ 🗡️ }] - "Now now, my darling. Did you really think I wouldn't notice?" A pause for an amused hum, his thumb rubbing the back of her hand affectionately.

[{ 🗡️ }] - "You know, Edna. If you wanted my attention, you could have just asked~" He playfully teases, knowing all too well how she was with showing her affection, even after their marriage. But that was just another thing that he loved about her. It was always a nice surprise whenever she decided to be affectionate to him.
