Mikey watched the scene in disinterest, still staring at Trixie as if she was maggot, even as she lay slumped after he'd let her go. Lifeless, cobalt hues lingered on the hostess' slender fingers as she spoke of them, and he took a step forward. He had a knife in his pocket. He'd never actually used it or needed it: He was the invincible Mikey after all. His best weapons were his legs and fists. However, that pulsing darkness had convinced him a couple of years ago, that he would need the object one day, when he couldn't keep his urges at bay any longer...
Another step was taken. All he had to do was cross the distance between them once more. He would grab her hand this time and use his knife to slice off her fingers one by one, since they were so crucial to her, so she'd learn how it felt to lose something important. He would enjoy the way she screamed as he did it. She had just been in his grasp. Why had he even let her go?
Slowly, he became aware of another presence. It hadn't been that long since the other person in this room had spoken to him, but it already felt like forever ago. She'd managed to stop him already, but he'd been so close to losing to the darkness once more. He managed to tear himself away from the girl, just as the men filed in. He let the door close behind him with a loud click as he stared at the hallway wall.
Toman's leader tried to distract himself from the darkness, as his urges finally settled down. His mind wandered to Sonia once more. She'd managed to stop him this time, which was actually quite surprising. Takemitchy and Draken had been the only ones brave enough to attempt to stop him before, and he generally wasn't easy to talk down when he got that way.
The Borghese Princess was tougher than he'd given her credit for. He couldn't help but remember how sad she'd looked when he proclaimed he would free her. He knew full well how hard that would be. He'd been obsessed with gangs for his whole life, and he knew a ragtag gang of delinquents like his own was no match for a legitimate mafia. They would make an enemy of an entire country.
However, Mikey knew that this version of Toman wouldn't last for forever. Someday, he knew the darkness would win. His gang would no longer be a place for friends to have fun. It would warp into something twisted, not unlike a mafia family, where they would earn copious amounts of money, deal drugs, and silence any who got in their way. He hoped that his friends would leave before that happened, but either way, it was inevitable. He supposed that he would have the power then to rescue the princess, but would the dark version of himself even care to?
He was shaken out of his thoughts by her voice, and he looked up. Somehow, hearing her talk of her dream, as simple as it was, chased the rest of his immorality away. "That's it? An amusement park? Hah!" He gave her a small smile, gratefully following her out of the back entrance. "Let's make a pit stop then. Yeah, yeah I know, the mafia and all that, but lucky for you..." As they reached his bike, he rummaged through the seat's compartment, pulling out a baseball cap.
The blonde attempted to place it on Sonia's head. He also pulled out a pair of sunglasses, and handed those to her next. It was a simple disguise, yet Mikey seemed oddly proud. "Sonia? Don't know her. Hop on! We're going to ride the biggest roller coaster in the park!"
His grin faded when she spoke of his dream once more though. She had been able to stop him, so maybe he should tell her the truth. "One day I'm going to kill someone." He spoke the words plainly, and with acceptance. "Ever since my brother died, I've been fighting the darkness. After Baji, and now Satori... It grows stronger and I grow weaker." He smiled sadly, as he sat down on his motorcycle's seat, turning away.
"Once I kill one person, I'm not going to stop. That'll be the end of me. Just... hopefully I'll free you on the way out. And if I don't, you should use your family's connections to kill me. Promise me.. If I ever hurt my friends, that your family will wipe me out."
For someone whose fists, allegedly, had seen their fair share of loose teeth, blood, and broken bones, he was surprisingly idealistic. Even in the back hallways of a hostess bar in the center of Kabukicho, Sonia didn't have the heart to tell him that she wasn't allowed to have dreams. She was allowed fine clothes, jewelry, a staff to cater to her every need, prime real estate often without a parent present, and entrance practically anywhere she wished to go, but true freedom was a fantasy. As much as the fantasy so many little girls possessed, to become a princess, marry for true love and live happily ever after. Sonia Nevermind, underboss to the Borghese Family, lived like the princess nickname Mikey had given her and for all the important things in life, she was barred from making her own choices.
She smiled a little, torn between amusement and pity, and it didn't reach her eyes: an emptiness had turned them from sparkling blue to darker, faded greying shade. "Dreams are a luxury that I do not have, Sano-san," She replied quietly as they'd approached Trixie's dressing room. "I settle for hobbies the best I am able to do so. But my life was planned for me the day I was born, and cemented the day my father died."
It was a small favor, she supposed, that he'd proposed the idea of saving her from her family whenever she needed it just as they reached Trixie's door. Her immediate reaction was a laugh, one she bit back as it set in that he wasn't joking. He had a family of friends, and they had motorcycles and fists and a determination to enjoy life and have fun, raising hell along the way. The Borghese Family, as many mafia families did, had weapons, resources, blackmail, and their hands secretly in more major business ventures, legal and illegal, than the rest of the world realized. The restaurants the members of Toman ate at, the pop idols they admired, and the clubs that some of them illegally visited: all, to some degree, run by organized crime families like her own.
Sonia didn't want to doubt him: it wasn't fair to a friend, even if he was a particularly new friend who now had his hands clamped over Trixie's neck as her heavily done-up eyes bulged in her skull. But a word from the Borghese Family's Donna and every police precinct in Japan would be out to get Toman off the streets. Even if he seemed unreachable now, his eyes dark and lifeless as he tightened his grip without remorse: motorcycle gangs mostly had their hands clean. If she could do anything for him, in the wake of his friend's death, she could keep his hands that way: never let him know what it meant to take a life. It was a burden she did not wish on anyone.
"You can't possibly send me there!" Trixie cried. She knelt on the floor, gasping for breath in-between her words. "Prison camps are better than that! You know I've got one of the prettiest faces here, Miss Sonia! I'm much more suited for hostess work, and I'll keep all of my fingers!"
She had a point: from the quick rate of production of knockoff clothes, shoes, and accessories, it wasn't uncommon for laborers who didn't watch their hands intently to lose a finger in the industrial machines. However, nightlife was few and far between and long days with regimented schedules meant the woman wouldn't get into more trouble. Sonia hummed gently in frustration, trying to ignore the growing headache forming in the spot between her eyebrows. "It is either Shenzhen or your debt to the Family increased. And on an expired visa, the only establishment in Japan that would hire you would be the soapland we found you in."
If Mikey hadn't completely taken the wind out of her sails, then it was Sonia who had fully deflated every bit of Trixie's pride. Thoroughly humbled, tears welled up in her eyes as Sonia knocked twice on the closed door before it opened to half a dozen men in nondescript black suits, and two women dressed far more elegantly in coordinating blazers and dresses, accessorized with elegant earrings here, a scarf there, and clearly with a sense of superiority over their male counterparts. "Trixie's work assignment has changed and she will be placed on the next flight to China," Sonia told them, her tone devoid of amusement as she frowned at the cowering woman in the corner. "I will inform my mother of the change. But she is not to be left alone until she reaches her assigned factory. She has thirty minutes to pack her things and vacate her apartment: is that understood?"
A hushed murmur of the affirmative indicated her directions would be carried out, and Sonia smiled to the team, and then to Trixie. "This will be a good change for you, I think," She told her, as kindly as she could under the circumstances. "think of your family at home and the debts they need you to repay. And if you do well, you may rise in management too. But this place is no longer suitable for you, I am sorry."
Like Mikey, she too stood in the hallway as Trixie was led away to pack her belongings. He looked unsettled by what had transpired: surprising, as he'd been the one to threaten with violence initially. Sonia cleared her throat, giving him an apologetic look for everything that had happened: the afternoon, and the death of his friend. "You asked earlier if I had dreams," She mentioned once they were alone. "It might sound silly and it is nothing monumental but...I want to visit an amusement park. There are none in my home country, and I have always wished to ride the roller coasters, for the thrills and the adrenaline from it all. But such things are frowned upon in my family, something about unnecessary risks to my safety and whatnot, so I never have had the opportunity. I imagine it is similar to the feeling of riding your motorcycle! The unpredictable danger of it all, and how fast you go while the world goes by."
She sighed, finally finding a genuine smile for him as she led the way towards the exit: the back exit at least, so he wouldn't have to awkwardly make his way through the crowd of beautiful hostesses, many of whom hadn't resisted giving him a flirty smile or wink, playfully calling him 'handsome' as they'd gone past earlier. That probably hadn't added to Mikey's discomfort being there, and Sonia, by extension of Trixie, had put him through enough that day. "I suppose if I were you, I would think about that dream of opening a motorcycle shop every time I think of a crime I cannot come back from, and how easily such a dream will slip through your fingers if you allow that crime to happen." She reached for the door that would take them back into the sunlight, his motorcycle only parked around the corner. "I hope you do it, too: open your shop. I think you would provide a sense of freedom for so many."

I need to go touch grass I saw an article of someone who reports about Disneyland for some online news place say Velocicoaster was the scariest roller coaster in America and I sent this massive rant text to my friend about how it isn't and how there may be scarier roller coasters still in Florida and even if not there are a lot of big roller coasters in America that people could consider scarier.
I think it peeved me because I have gotten into bouts where I get really into roller coasters and watched videos from coaster enthusiasts about roller coasters and this is just some random lady who only goes to the really big American theme parks.
What do I actually consider the scariest? Well I've never ridden it but the one that came to mind was Cannibal. I had to look up stats and where it actually is because it's in Utah. It has a 116 degree beyond vertical drops and four inversions.
Velocicoaster is scary, I'm not going to deny that, it's a great coaster from what I've heard, but please look at Cannibal's drop and tell me which you find scarier. Whichever answer is valid I'm just like screaming.
#untagged#delete later#there are probably worse things to get really peeved about lol#the author said the really long barrel roll over the water was the scariest part and yeah that's fair#but there are plenty of roller coasters with lots of hangtime#shoutout to copperhead strike for having mad hangtime right out of the station#because carowinds is the only park i've been to after really getting over being afraid of roller coasters#i mean amusement park i went to disney but not studios and like#i went to universal a few months ago but velocicoaster wasn't open yet so there were two big coasters and i rode both#but i didn't get a full day either time i went to carowinds so i haven't ridden everything to my vast disappointment#so i really want to go back to williamsburg to ride everything i skipped when i was young and hit most of the other east coast parks#except boomerangs once i really get places. i hate boomerangs.#did you know that the hurler at carowinds used to be themed to wayne's world and afterburn used to be themed to top gun(?)#also nighthawk used to be themed to the borg from star trek and backlot stunt coasters at a few parks used to be themed to the italian job#i want chocolate

Spring Break Disaster-
“Hey kiddo, if you don’t get up soon, you’re gonna miss the fun day Pepper and Morgan planned,” Tony said walking past Peter's room.
You see it's currently Peter's spring break and he chose to spend it with Tony at the beach house. Usually, he would be bouncing off the walls with excitement but instead, he's curled up in a ball under the sheets. His stomach was aching, his head was killing him and he was pretty sure he had a fever. He couldn't dare tell Tony because he would go into full dad mode, which would ruin the day the girls planned.
" I'm serious Peter, get up, we have things to do," Tony said now coming into the room.
" 'm up, give me a minute to get dressed," Peter muttered.
" you okay, underoos? You don't sound like yourself," Tony said with concern coating his voice.
" Y-yeah, I'm fine. Just had a long night," Peter fired back.
"Okay if you say so, I'll let you get ready," Tony said while walking out.
Peter got out of bed and immediately regretted it as a sharp pain shot through his abdomen. He wanted to scream but he knew he had to keep quiet. Once the pain subdued he made his way to the closet. He grabbed the baggiest sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. He was hoping the sweatshirt would hide his bloated stomach and luckily it did. After he got dressed he made his way to the kitchen.
" There's the spiderling," Pepper said with a smile on her face.
" Hi Pep," Peter responded with a half-ass smile.
" Petey, Petey, I can't wait to show you what we're doing today" morgan yelled while running into the room. Peter squinted at the sound.
" Hey kiddo, you sure you're okay. We can cancel our plans if you're not feeling like yourself," Tony said.
" no, no I'm fine I promise, no need to cancel anything," Peter said, trying to reassure him.
" Well, in that case, we better get going if we want to stick to the schedule you two beautiful ladies planned," Tony said while spinning morgan around. The little one couldn't help but giggle. It brought a small smile to Peter's face.
" Okay Stark family, to the minivan" Tony yelled running to the garage. Peter paused for a second to prepare himself for everything that was gonna happen today.
" When I say stark family, you know that includes you right," Tony asked, peeking through the garage door.
" Yeah, sorry, I'm coming. I was in Lala land for a sec," Peter said making his way out the door.
Tony knew something was up with the kid but he didn't want to keep hounding him. Peter was old enough to make his own decisions and Tony knew Peter would come around eventually but until then he'd just have to keep an eye on the kid.
"Mommy can I tell them yet" Morgan squealed.
"Yes, honey go ahead. I'm sure the suspense is just killing them" pepper giggled.
" We're going to the rollercoaster place," Morgan yet again squealed.
"Fuck," Peter muffled under his breath.
Peter was getting super nauseous and wasn't sure if he was physically capable of keeping up the healthy act. An amusement park is the last place he wanted to be. He decided to close his eyes and tune out the world until they got to the park.
After an almost unbearable hour passed they finally pulled into a parking lot. When they all got out of the vehicle Peter looked up at all the roller coasters and gulped. He knew it was gonna be a long-ass day. They made their way to the entrance of the park and Peter started feeling his dinner from the night before shooting up his throat. He started walking faster so he wouldn't vomit in front of everyone and possibly traumatize little morgan. When they all made it into the park Peter darted straight for the bathroom. He prayed no one was in there. Luckily his prayers were answered and the bathroom was vacant. Peter barely made it to a stall before everything came up. By the time he finished, he had no energy left. He had no idea how he was gonna get through the rest of the day. He washed his hands and made his way back to Tony.
"Holy shit kid, what happened to you," Tony dropped the drink in his hand when he saw Peter's exhausted face. He ran to Peter's side when he noticed his knees getting shaky.
"I don't feel so good," Peter said.
"I can see that," Tony responded.
"What's wrong exactly, where does it hu-" Tony was interrupted by Peter screaming then vomiting. Bystanders looking with concern and disgust.
"T-tony is that blood," Pepper said pointing at the puddle of vomit under Peter.
" Oh my god, kid, talk to me, where's the pain, '' Tony said frantically.
"S-side," Peter cried.
" which side son," Tony asked.
"Right" peter yelped.
"Pepper call Bruce, I think it's his appendix," Tony demanded.
"Daddy is Petey okay," Morgan cried.
" He will be, my little honey bee, I promise," Tony reassured her.
Tony picked Peter up as delicately as possible and made his way back to the car. Pepper and Morgan followed close behind. When they made it to the car Tony laid Peter in the back seat, at this point the poor kid had no energy at all left. Once everyone was in the car they made their way to the compound. Tony was kicking himself for not making the kid fess up. If anything were to happen to Peter, it was on him. He let the kid play healthy for way too long and now they are in this horrible situation.
" Tony, he's a strong kid. He'll be okay," Pepper said when she noticed how deep in his thoughts he was.
"I know pep, I just can't let anything happen to him, he's my son. I can't lose him," Tony said with a tear streaming down his face. Tony noticed the smirk on Pepper's face.
" What, why are you smiling, this is not a time for smiles it's a time for tears," Tony said confused.
"I'm smiling because you called him your son, I always knew you had a soft spot for him" Pepper giggled.
"Shut up" tony snarled.
They finally pulled up to the compound and Bruce was already waiting there with a stretcher.
" What are his stats," Bruce asked as soon as Peter was on the stretcher.
"I didn't check, everything happened so fast," Tony said.
" Okay, I'll just have FRIDAY run them when we get inside," Bruse said.
They made their way into the building.
"FRIDAY, I need his O2 levels, temp, and BP" Bruce stated.
"O2 at 96%, his temperature is 101.9 and BP is 121 over 85, Doctor," FRIDAY responded.
"Thank you FRIDAY, that'll be all for now. Okay, Peter, I'm going to press on your abdomen, let me know when you feel pain" Bruce said. Peter grunted in response,
Bruce began pressing, starting in the middle and making his way to the lower right side. When he pressed on the side Peter shot up and puked on the floor.
" Okay, this is 100% his appendix," Bruce said, turning to Tony.
"So what now," Tony asked, biting his nails.
" emergency surgery, we'll get him prepped now," Bruce said.
" Do what's necessary, I need that kid back to his regular annoying self," Tony said with a stern tone.
Peter was soon wheeled off to surgery.
" You love him, admit it," Pepper said walking into the room.
"Of course I love him Pep, he's everything I wanted to be and more, he's my son," Tony said.
" You're so cute when you get all mushy," Pepper said, curling up next to her husband.
An hour passed and bruce came into the room.
" Everything went well, he's in recovery. I'll bring him in as soon as he's awake," Bruce said before walking out.
" Bruce, wait," Tony said.
"Yes," Bruce asked.
" Thank you, thank you for saving my kid's life," Tony said.
" no problem" bruce smiled and walked out.
Soon after, Bruce wheeled Peter's bed into the room.
"Hey underoos, how you feeling," Tony asked, ruffling his hair.
"Better," Peter smiled.
" I'm so happy to hear that but we need to talk about why you thought it was okay to not tell me you weren't feeling well," Tony said.
" I'm sorry, I just didn't want to put a damper in anyone's plans," Peter said sheepishly.
" no one would've been upset if you were ill," Pepper chimed in.
"I'm sorry," Peter repeated.
"No need to be sorry, I'm just glad you're okay," Tony said lightly hugging the kid.
"Thanks, Dad," Peter said into his neck.
" Oh, so you're calling me Dad now," Tony asked, surprised.
" Well I thought we were there, you did call me your son," Peter said.
" Oh shit, you heard that," Tony asked, turning red from embarrassment.
"I was in pain, not deaf," Peter chuckled.

An unasked for and continued review of every Power Rangers Episode E can get a hold of Pt. 2
The following is a non-professional review of the Power Rangers Series starting from Mighty Morphin and working our way forward. This review Covers Episode 6-10. Note there will be spoilers.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 Episode 6: Food Fight.
Our intrepid young goody goodies are running a cultural food fair. Which gets quickly ruined by Bulk and Skull and their antics. How these two don’t get suspended or expelled is beyond me. Might be a weird luck stat? Regardless. Rita is not feeling so well and decides to use one of Finsters not so stellar monsters for the job of eating everything.
Things look like they’re going to Rita’s benefit until the rangers figure out that porky can’t handle a bit of heat. Rangers get their weapons back and bacon out of the nefarious ham.
Fun: 5 out of 5
Weird monster design: 3 out of 5
Now I’m hungry: 4 out of 5.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 Episode 7: Big Sisters.
Trini and Kimberly Volunteered to be Big Sisters for the Rambunctious Maria for a day. Meanwhile Aunt Rita Repulsa needs a child like Maria for her own plans. To get passed a barrier and get a couple of Power Eggs to gain the power to defeat the power rangers...
*Looks at the script.*
No....that’s what it says... I mean Eggs are full of protein so it tracks but the barrier requiring the touch of an innocent child to open it and the definition of innocent child make little sense to me. Who designs this magic?
Anyway putty patrollers kidnap Maria and get her to open the box while also probably traumatizing the kid with the ugly chicken monster of the week.
Rangers can’t reach communication with alpha and Zordon or even teleport so they instead take Billy’s RADBUG which is an acronym but we’re not going to go into that because it is a supped up Volkswagon beetle. So they take the car and go to the command center and go to save Maria using the radbug. They fight funky chicken for a bit before frying him once and for all with the Megazord.
Maria is saved and Rita has a headache, and the episode ends with Bulk getting doused in Veggie Chilli. Hold up, why is he getting slapsticked on? He’s been on good behaviour. Bulk was just minding his own business for this entire episode....what? Oh, karma for last episode. That makes sense, anyways.
Fun: 3 out of 5
Bad kid voice acting: 4 out of 5.
Com and teleportation outages: 0 out of 5 because they suck.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 Episode 8: I, eye guy.
This is another episode featuring a kid of the week, Willy and his VR game he made, which really just looks like face mounted displays showing video footage of a roller coaster ride. Anyway with the help of billy the kid is entering the science fair competition. Meanwhile ol’ Aunt Rita Repulsa has a new evil plan to kidnap the kid and steal his intelligence for her own?
*Looks at notes.*
So what is she going to use him to create games to win the hearts of the masses and then take over the world legally? Oh nope the monster just saps the kid after absorbing them.
*Looks at notes again.* Hold on I think I need to call the FBI on Rita Repulsa.
Anyway before getting the monster out, Rita has some putties sent down to try and take the kid, worked last time. Well this time it didn’t and the rangers beat the clay faced goons and got Willy to the science fair.
Look before I continue can I just say that whoever wrote the script has no idea about computer electronics. I feel the urge to lambaste them for the term Quasitronic circuitry. I’m willing to let the Radbug slide and all the other ranger tech, but now I’m drawing the line.
And bring in another round of bulk and skull antics as they come to cause havoc and because of these bozos and their antics, WIlly gets disqualified.. Okay so this is what I call plot contrived BS. Willy didn’t even touch those 2 yet the professor decided that since Willy was one of the many people laughing as Bulk and Skull ran after their fashion makeover that he must have been the culprit?
Okay a distraction.before I unleash a world breaker move but can we say that the lady with the funky fashion makeover machine has a brilliant concept going? A machine that can help you change your clothes would be very useful for the disabled or people with limited mobility.
So after the idiot professor denies Willy what he deserves, he’s kidnapped by eye guy and...
jeepers creepers where’d you get those peepers, jeepers creepers where’d you get those eyes... where’d you get those eyes.Sorry had to.
Anyway inside the eyes of eye guy Willy is stuck on a gyroscope and to protect himself eye guy keeps his main separate so the rangers team finisher has no effect on him.
Billy goes to save Willy, Rita super sizes eye guy making him more of an eye sore than he was before, Megazord finishes the monster and Willy is saved and the professor gives Willy’s invention first prize. Thus ends another episode.
Fun: 4 out of 5
Eyes: Too many
Strict professor: Only 1.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 Episode 9: For Whom the Bell Trolls.
Hmmm.....a episode with a bunch of dolls....don’t like that. One of them is going to get possessed by Rita’s machinations isn’t it? Don’t like any of this.
So it’s Hobby Week at Angel Grove High and the main five showcase their hobbies/interests. Trini it’s dolls, Jason it’s martial arts, Zack it’s surfing, Kimberly Gymnasitcs, and Billy it’s a Model.....volcano? Anyway afterwards Bulk and Skull because clearly these two never got enough attention as kids try to pick on Trini and her dolls doing the whole keep away thing only for Bulk to get gooped by the Volcano.
I’m certain it’s non-toxic, right Billy?.... Billy?
Anyway we see Trini’s house and her room.... and all the pretty dolls she has.
Look, I’ll be Frank and I’m not Frank I’m E...but I find something unnerving about some dolls. I like them better than Horses but still.
So Rita sends....what’s his name....squatt? Yep, that’s him. Sends him down to turn Ticklesneezer into the monster of the week. This is a kids show so i’m going to let this plan slide to see where it’s going here.
Oh so she’s going to have him collect things....like a motorcycle, tokyo tower, Trini and BIlly in a car. Okay this plan is already pretty effective I’m surprised.
Meanwhile the others are at the youth center doing a bit of sparring before Jason showcases his martial arts skills by the age old trick of breaking wood.
We also get more bulk and skull antics...with bulk hurting his hand on a cake.
The squad get called in by Zordon to go save Trini and Billy fighting their way through the ever novel Putty squad and Baboo, Squat, and Goldar.
Kimberly saves Mini Trini and Billy from their bottle and from a Train. Hold on giving Kimberly another gold star for good work. And Rita Repulsa makes Ticklesneezer grow as she does with all her monsters.
And we see a Giant asian kid with the Megazord as the rangers attempt to bottle rita and her group. Errors in stock footage....and it turns out it was all a dream....oh okay so it makes more sense for their to be a giant kid there.
We close out the episode with one more instance of Bulk and Skull and their.....flea circus? Okay that’s actually kind of wholesome for a couple bullies....and the teacher ends up getting flea bitten...... instead of those two getting the slapstick over the head...well surprising.
Fun:5 out of 5
Dolls: Creepy
Reality: Questionable.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 Episode 10: Happy Birthday Zack.
*Puts on a party hat.*
Cake-o-matic, looks like an old toaster oven mixed with a couple filters and two blenders. But who am I to question genius. *Watches Ernie get covered with blue cake foam.* Who am I to question Gremlins.
So the rangers are preparing a surprise party for Zack and Rita is preparing a “Killer” surprise for Zack as well. Ernie is also pretty close to the truth regarding the rangers.....except obviously the Rangers are interdimensional beings....OBVIOUSLY, didn’t hear it from me though.
And Bulk and Skull show up. What are they doing out so late? Also shouldn’t the door be locked, isn’t this trespassing? Ernie gave the kids permission but not them. I’m terribly confused.
Anyway Bulk and Skull make complete fools of themselves while Rita is demanding progress reports regarding the monster of the week. Finster seems kind of annoyed. Already has the monster decided and everything. Dude needs a night off, go have some drinks. Look I know a place near the pits of evil. Nastiest drinks and nastier company but it’s a good time. Call me Finster we’ll hang.
Anyway the kids finish prep and work on keeping Zack in the dark, and in the dark of night we see Finster and Baboo proving that they could really go into the renfaire business as they work on a nasty sword that can cut through just about anything in the known universe. Well except the bonds of friendship and love but those don’t count. Rita summons her nasty knight on this nasty night and the games afoot.
Anyway the kids are trying to act cool for the surprise party, to mixed results which will obviously just make Zack hurt and distracted him from his fight against the Nasty Knight as Zack loses and dies and the Rangers are defeated and Rita wins. Game Over.......
....NAH! The rangers get to Zack and they’re still not beating this guy...huh....not even the Megazord is doing anything...well until they figure out the schict of the situation and break the nasty sword and the knight with the power sword thus ending plan.....10 of Rita’s. The kids then go to the youth center and celebrate Zack’s birthday.
Fun: 5 out of 5
Knights: Out.
Cake: 0 out of 5 it’s undercooked and way to foamy.
Anyway this concludes part 2 of this long and grueling review of every power rangers episode I can get a hold of and affront to professional reviews to the series as a whole. Bah I’m having fun and that’s all that matters.
Anyway stay tuned to more of this nonsense.

Doing the health thing.
As many of you know, the past four to six months has been an absolute roller coaster for me health wise. I have had more diagnoses than I can count on one hand but nothing was drastic enough for to elicit a dramatic response. So I kind of just wandered through this ridiculous season until everything clicked and we worked something out.
Now I’ve only felt good for three weeks, so I’m still taking this very slow. I am not getting too excited just yet. But:
I went super MIA for a good while there. As I’ve reemerged and shared what’s been happening with friends, I hear so many people saying “I feel like that too!” or asking “How on Earth did you get better?” So here we are. The list of things I’m doing to help get/keep me healthy.
Now I’m not a doctor or health professional by any stretch – this is purely what I’ve done and what MY TEST RESULTS informed MY DOCTORS and HEALTH PEOPLE. So please don’t take this as gospel truth.
But I feel like I have some advice for those feeling a bit stuck in a cycle of health that definitely isn’t what it should be.
First things first, it’s not normal to be exhausted. Full stop. We live in a society where we are busy all the time, and a lot of us are unknowingly addicted to a substance (*cough* coffee *cough*) to try and alleviate underlying sleep deprivation. This is not sustainable – you should never be that busy that you are always feeling like you need a weeks worth of sleep.
It’s also not normal to feel tired after 8-10 hours of sleep. Fatigue and daytime sleepiness is a HUGE indicator that your body is not functioning at its peak. It means that something is lacking: whether it be sleep, nutrients, water, positivity – all of things contribute to our energy levels.
For example, fatigue and daytime sleepiness can be a symptom of: • Low iron or excess iron – iron’s can be annoying like that; • Mental health conditions like depression or anxiety; • Food intolerance and IBS; • Sleep apnea or poor sleep routines; • Low blood pressure; • Glandular fever or cytomegalovirus (or a bunch of other viruses); • Super simple things, like dehydration, jetlag or overeating (that post Christmas nap is definitely supported by s c i e n c e); • About a million other things.
So if you are feeling tired even after a regular night’s sleep, first consider your schedule and then consider a further investigation into the inner workings of that hot lil bod of yours 😏
I hear you: “That’s great Em. But who can help me? My doctor doesn’t care because I don’t have blood gushing out of a limb that’s falling off!” I feel you: My doctor ignored me for YEARS until I crashed real bad, and even then, he didn’t really care. *sigh* Not a fun time. Obviously I don’t go to that doctor anymore.
Go see a naturopath. But a good one. Not a hippie one.
Not that I’m against hippie naturopaths, I’m sure they are helpful too. But if a naturopath is going to be your main port of call for recovery, make sure you are seeing an experienced, degree qualified natural health specialist. Looking into your eyes with a shiny light is not enough on it’s own. Make sure they know their stuff.
Make sure they are using reputable brands of supplements (Metagenics, BioCeuticals, MediHerb etc.) that require practitioner prescriptions – in other words, you can’t just buy the supplements “over the counter”. And, they should recommend more than just essential oils.
Naturopathics can be a slow process, and it might take a while for you to see some changes. They look for the cause of the problem and try to resolve that, rather than putting band aids on things (an approach typically taken by mainstream medical doctors). But, for me, once we worked out what was causing my issues, it was a BINGO moment and I hit the health jackpot within DAYS.
Heads up: naturopaths by definition are a bit alternative. They’ll definitely ask about your poo, want to poke you and their machines make weird sounds but hey, it’s usually pretty non-intrusive.
It can also be expensive, especially when you start taking supplements and vitamins. It’s also not recognised by Medicare or most private health insurance, so it’s usually an out of pocket expense. I totally understand that may not be feasible for everyone. But – if you can, I totally recommend.
I go to Don Graham at Vitage Naturopathics (Springwood). He and his wife Sandy are AMAZING, drop them a line here.
Don’t abandon your general practitioner or specialist.
Look, when things hurt or are causing significant disruptions – GO TO THE DOCTOR. When I’m covered in a heinous rash and I can’t sleep because of it, I can’t wait another three weeks to see the naturopath and then go on an elimination diet and try this, that, and the other. I NEED TO SLEEP DAMMIT. Get me onto those steroids, stat. But not before I take photos to show the naturopath later. It’s teamwork, look it up.
Keep a symptom diary.
We all like to think that we have a pretty good memory. You don’t. Your memory is shit. Write stuff down. Track your period, track your headaches, track the days you have explosive diarrhoea and the days you are constipated. TRACK ALL YOUR SYMPTOMS.
Whether you go to a naturopath or a doctor, having it all on paper with dates will help you figure out if there are any patterns or if you’re just a loose cannon (still sad about Luke from Survivor, so here’s a meme in his honor).
Find yourself some good friends.
Heck, chronic illness can be lonely as hell. You miss out on parties, on coffee catch ups. you have to drop activities that you did with friends (like going to gym classes or walking your puppies together).
Research has shown that people who report high levels on loneliness are also more likely to develop both short and long term illnesses, ranging from colds to dementia. Loneliness will make it so much harder for you to get better, both physically and mentally.
So what happens when you might drop off the radar for days, weeks, or months at a time?
Rely on incredible friends who understand that every plan is tentative pending health. Find those people who will check in with you when you’ve been a bit MIA, and are willing to ditch the cute café for a cup of tea in your lounge room when can’t get yourself out of the house.
In saying that, reach out to people. Don’t expect everyone to know what’s going on, and still try to take the small steps you can to show people you still care (and just need a little extra love right now).
Be gracious with yourself and the state of your home – you don’t have to have everything perfectly together to invite someone over. Maybe you sit on the couch in your pyjamas and chat for a grand total of half an hour because that is all you can manage. If so, that’s okay! You made an effort, and when you have such little capacity, that will scream volumes to your friends.
Embrace the discomfort of making changes.
I cringe a little bit every time I, a girl wearing a dress with cons, order a soy flat white in my pink Pottery for the Planet keep cup, but hey, we’re embracing the discomfort.
I had to give up God’s most precious gift to humanity: the humble smoked almond. Don’t even get me started on hummus. Yet here we are, feeling a million times better for it. Thank God for a sneaky cheat moment here and there (not a whole day or I’d look like a 22 week pregnant lady…).
Problem was – unbeknownst to me, I relied on food for comfort. It was always familiar; I KNEW I’d feel emotionally better after some cheese and a choccy milk. I had to realise that I needed healthier coping strategies now other than food – like meditation and exercise and… actually dealing with my problems. Ugh.
I also had to embrace the fact that people loved me even when I couldn’t do anything for them. I was still a part of my church when I couldn’t serve on team. My family still loved me when I didn’t contribute to the dishes for a while.
My worth to people isn’t attached to what I can do for them and that was a huge thing for me to learn. I probably would not have fully understood that lesson had I not been so absolutely unable to do anything for anyone but myself.
Embrace the discomfort – you’ll grow from it. I promise.
Find things that you like!
Let’s talk about healthy juices. With this list of food intolerances rounding up at SEVENTEEN, a lot of my faves got the cut (see ya honey, pineapple, mango etc. etc.). You know what didn’t get the cut? BLOODY SPINACH. What is full of iron and good for your belly? SPINACH. What am I eating a lot of right now? SPINACH.
I don’t love spinach, but when combined with other things and blended to a pulp, it can be good. The only way you are going to stick to a new lifestyle is by finding things you like. Plus, life is way to short to drink gross smoothies every day.
It could be that you try to find new forms of exercise that are better for your condition - I recently discovered yoga and climbing, both of which are heaps less taxing on my adrenal glands and therefore better for my fatigue.
It may be new routines – I have to go to bed earlier than before which means I often can’t spend time with friends on “school nights”. I had to shift my hours at work from 8 to 4 to 10 to 6 so that I could do what I need to do in the morning before work.
It might be swapping to new products - I changed my skin care products because I was allergic to one of the chemicals in the one I had been using for years.
It’s trial and error – you have to be open to trying new things, and deal with the fall out of some changes doing more damage than before. But when you work out what works, it’s like a whole new person. Trust me on this, yeah? It pays off in the long run.
Be diligent.
It can be frustrating and it can be so hard not to see the pay off until the long run. Taking your pills twice a day, drinking your veggie smoothie thing twice a day, consistently putting your health first when you just want to go out and eat freaking cheese pizza. I get it, it’s tedious. But consistency is key. It’ll happen and you’ll build a new routine and relish in all your new found health and wellness. YAY.
Pay attention to your mind, not just your body.
The way we think about our body has HUGE implications on our physical health. I touched on this earlier with the loneliness thing. The same principle expands to positivity, to courage, to telling ourselves that our body is strong and rebuilding, not a piece of shit that’s not doing its job. Spend time meditating, reading, reflecting, feeding your mind good thoughts while we feed our bodies with good food!
Wow this got pretty long. If you’re still here, congrats. I really do hope you got something good out of it – even if it’s that you should definitely go buy some smoked almonds because they are something wonderful that this Earth does not deserve.
Hit me up if you ever want to chat! Always open, always keen, available sometimes (because recovering and still kinda tired…).
All my love, E x

Sanaa Lathan is on baddie status while promoting her new projects. Get into her lewks inside...

So. FREAKIN. FLAWLESS.
At another event...
The gorgeous actress pulled up at HBO's "Native Son" screening held at Guggenheim Museum in NYC with some sophistaced fab. She served up First Lady realness in a lavender Christian Siriano ensemble.
The "Shots Fired" actress sat down with VIBE to talk about how deep and heavy her role as Trudy Thomas (Big's mother) is in "Native Son" - which reimages Richard Wright’s 1940 novel - and the roller coaster emotions she felt while portraying a black mother raising a black son.
Below are a few highlights:
VIBE: How do you think this film will be digested?
SL: It’s interesting. I read Native Son when I was in junior high school. I just remember being stunned by it and those images would instantly come back to me when the title would come up. Then when I watched it at Sundance inside that big beautiful theater I was taken through this rollercoaster of emotions. When I left, I didn’t know what to feel. It took me a couple of days. We had press the next day. We had a lot of discussions the first time I heard Rashid talk about. I think that’s great. I think that’s what art should be. You have to sit with it. You have to think about it and think about what you feel. You have to discuss it. I think it’s going to do that for a lot of people.
VIBE: The bond between Big and his mother is strong. As he’s leaving, your character says “be careful.” But it’s not be careful and look both ways when you’re crossing the street. There was a deeper meaning behind that. How did you craft your role so that way your two words “be careful” would be so heavy?
SL: Just being conscious as a person in America right now, you have to be tapped into what’s happening. I’ve been heartbroken for the last several years. I’ve played roles where I have to deal with this subject a lot. Shots Fired, I’m playing a cop who’s dealing with police brutality and murder and that has been in consciousness for years. Even when I’m driving my car and I see a cop behind me, there’s a fear that comes up that’s bigger than fear of getting a ticket.
I also identify with her as a mother who loves her son. Just thinking about all mothers who want her kids to survive and thrive and be good and do well and that’s all she wants for him. That was easy for me to tap into and then when I met Ashton [Sanders] it was immediate chemistry. I wanted to be a nurturer to him. I wanted to take care of him. I had that compassion for him just as a young, black man coming into this business. I was even surprised by my own concern. I kind of interrogated him the first couple of days about his life. So having that chemistry with somebody just makes your job easy.
Back on the carpet...
Braided beauty Kiki Layne - who plays Big's girlfriend Bessie in the movie - popped up on the scene in Louis Vuitton. Chick isn't showing any signs of slowing down since starring in If Beale Street Could Talk, which earned Regina King an Oscar.
Making their way down the carpet...
The ladies snapped it up with their cast mates - including Margaret Qualley, Ashton Sanders, Nick Robinson and Bill Camp, along with playwright Suzan-Lori Parks, director Rashid Johnson - and hit the stage to dish on the new flick.
Kiki's DePaul University classmate Ashton Sanders plays her love interest/main character Bigger "Big" Thomas. Cute.
Fun times.
Peep the trailer below:

"Native Son" premieres this Saturday, April 6th at 10pm EST on HBO.
At another event...
Damn Sanaa! Just slay our lives why don't you!
The award winning actress popped in on CBS All Access' new series "The Twilight Zone" premiere held at the Harmony Gold Preview House and Theater in Hollywood.
The highly anticipated CBS All Access series, hosted by Jordan Peele, will take viewers through several scary dimensions based on the first look. Jordan Peele will narrate all of the action set to go down in each episode. And he's also executive producing. It's a reboot of the science-fiction series, originally narrated by Rod Sterling, that originally aired on CBS from 1959-1964.
We need this dress and this bomb ponytail. STAT!
DeWanda Wise - who also stars in "The Twilight Zone" - was right on trend with the high, kinky ponytail. The "She's Gotta Have It" actress and Sanaa looks were very similar. She said it was totally not planned:
Cute.
By the way, "She's Gotta Have It" returns to Netflix in May. Deets on the new season HERE.
THE man himself showed his face for the screening. TheYBF.com recently caught up with the Jordan Peele and he shared his 8-year plan with us. Find out what he has in store HERE.

The Entrepreneur Roller CoasterYour Essential Guide Book for Thriving as an EntrepreneurDarren Hardy“All human beings are entrepreneurs. When we were in caves, we were all self-employed… finding our food, feeding ourselves. That’s where human history began. As civilization came, we suppressed it. We became ‘labor’ because they stamped us, ‘you are labor’. We forgot that we are entrepreneurs.”- Muhammed Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize winner and microfinance pioneerIntroduction“Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.”- Ralph Waldo EmersonThis chapter talks about how he became an entrepreneur. This wasn’t something that he planned or decided on with forethought, but rather something that happened in the spur of the moment. The business prospect that enticed him was a company that offered you the chance to buy home water filtration systems at wholesale, then sell them at retail prices and make a profit. (Almost like pursuit of happiness more water filters and less x-rays-T.K)He mentions his mentality as a kid. He use to work commission based jobs, and less 9-5 jobs like fast food. He did this because he wanted to march to his own beat and learn things on his own. He wanted to control his own future and not be constrained by minimum wages and pointless rules. He basically became a door to door salesmen in the beginning, but for him that was a learning moment, every new door meant testing a new angle. In the selling process he used everything from compelling stats to new selling methods. He worked all day and sold nothing, he left the house with 40 water filters and came back with 40 water filters. He was crushed. After assuming he failed and crashed he went to his system of support which was his grandmother. Guess what she did? She ended up buying one in the process of him explaining his sales process. The next logical step for him was asking for referrals. He succeeded in that and ended up selling 16 more. Like any story of a young entrepreneur, it was going to well for him and something bad had to happen and it did. The water filters that he installed were not installed properly and as such ruined his grandparents' home. He had to undergo so much from embarrassment and fixing the other ticking time bombs. The feelings he remembered from the first moment of deciding to become an entrepreneur were:The initial anxiety of taking the leap and investing his hard earned money and the moment where he noticed he might not be cut out for the business and might lose his savingsThe thrill of seeing the first arrival of his product and the initial deflation after his father's reaction and disappointment.I remember feeling the optimism that everyone would buy, the hollow pit in my stomach when everyone said no, the elation of selling the first product, and the exhilarating blur the sales streak that followed. He remembered the shame, embarrassment, and the struggle to overcome the failure that flooded my first few weeks in business.Business is a frightening, exhilarating, and totally addictive thrill ride. Now is the time to rideHe states that ““ It’s never been this good and it will likely never be this good again.”... We have access to the best and brightest business minds in the world. We see all the latest economic news, press releases, and trend data. And we’re sitting on the greatest success archives ever collected in business history.”This it! Right now. Unlike any other time in human history. But you better hurry. For decades ivory towers monopolized the playing field, and as such, held the keys to success. They controlled:The raw materials and resources to create products. The money and talent. The shelf space in stores, and the ships, trains and trucks to fill them. The media and marketing, from newspapers and magazines to radio and TV.They made the game, rules and always have a guaranteed victory. Each of these control points are now open to the public, and are now optimized by the truly crafty individuals. The playing field has truly been leveled. The world’s marketplace is at everyone’s fingertips-literally.People far less smart, capable, talented, or hardworking will stand up. People with lower education, social standing, or family connections will take notice. Even people who are not as nice, kind, or generous as you will take action. What you need to be an entrepreneurYou need to be a lot tougher. On your journey to be an entrepreneur you will face rejection, negativity, and doubt. You will have to face these problems without flinching. You’ll need to be well equipped. It is an emotional ride and it happens in the real world. In the real world you need to be prepared with skills. So you’ll need skills like sales, leadership and productivity. You will need confidence. Everyone starts off scared no matter the pursuit. Doubt is part of the process, and we all get hurt in the processThese are the things that will be covered in the book.“Love doesn’t make the world go ‘round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.”- Franklin P. JonesChapter 1The Height RequirementWhat It Really Takes To Survive And Thrive In BusinessIf you walk around any amusement park, what do you see in the line for roller coasters, no matter the kind of roller coaster, a nervous kid with his back against a lined board. Each mark is an inch, and there’s always one that matters the most. It’s the line that marks the height to ride. A kid will do anything to reach the line from standing on their tippy toes to fluffing up his hair. They do anything for a fraction of an inch. What is required for the rollercoaster of entrepreneurship is not height, but rather love.“The first and most important factor in building a successful business is that you have to love it.”- Darren HardyFinding What MattersHe talks about his successes this chapter how he went from selling door to door to a 5 million dollar operation. He shares a story. He was on recruitment quota and he had to get one more. The person he was talking about was a 50 year old lady. To join his crew there was a 5K commitment and that would take her savings. She asked him is this for her, and he took a minute and said no.Guess what he did next and this was crazyyy-T.KHe drove and he went through deep thought. He knew she would not have succeeded in this business and he imagined the heartbreak she would go through if she failed. He underwent a character awakening moment and it no longer felt right to him. He called the lady back named kate. He told her “I’m not coming back. Ever. The office and the business are yours. I’m done” True to his word he never came back because he feel out of love from his business. If there isn’t love, there wasn’t anything.Love It.... or Else!Steve jobs during an interview at a D5 conference said “People say you have to have a lot of passion for what you’re doing and it’s totally true. And the reason is because its so hard that if you don’t, any rational person would give up. It’s really hard. And you have to do it over a sustained period of time. So if you don’t love it, if you’re not having fun doing it, you don’t really love it, you’re going to give up. And that’s what happens to most people, actually. If you really look at the ones that ended up, you know, being “successful” in the eyes of society and the ones that didn’t, oftentimes, it’s the ones [who] were successful loved what they did so they could persevere, you know, when it got really tough. And the ones that didn’t love it quit because they’re sane, right? Who would want to put up with this stuff if you don’t love it? So it’s a lot of hard work and it’s a lot of worrying constantly and if you don’t love it, you’re going to fail.”If you don’t love your business, then you’re not gonna make it. You’ll give up.“Starting a company is like staring into the abyss and eating grass”- Elon MuskThe truth about the phrase “looking for my passion” is an excuse in disguise, we use it to cover up the fact that we are not progressing, growing, and taking action in life. The problem isn’t that you lost or missing. Passion isn’t something to discover, it’s already inside of you.Darren liked to compare passion to electricity in a light switch. It’s always there ready to be turned on. The electricity is just waiting to be turned on. Passion is just like electricity, all you have to do is flip the switch. There are 4 light switches to turn your passion on.Switch No.1- Being passionate about what you do.People often judge one person’s front of stage persona with their back of stage reality. How often do singers spend on stage or reality speakers like oprah on camera fulfilling her mission of “using television to transform people’s lives” . The reality is only around 5 percent and the rest of their days is endless meetings, negotiations, and many more random activities. He warns of not over romanticizing the idea of being wholly passionate about what you do. It’s true that 5% of what people do is fun and amazing, but I don’t care what you do, it’s going to suck most of the time. Nothing is going to fun all the time. Give up on that notion now. Is it shocking, if it is get used to it, because it’s the truth and not an opinion.Switch No. 2 Being Passionate about why you do it.He doesn’t love what he does, but why he does it. He doesn’t like to always live out a suitcase or do so much research on endless data logs. I love to empower entrepreneurs around the world. Even if what you have to do is difficult and a dark choice, the passion of why you do it outshines any of the darkness.“The two most important days in your life are the day your born and the day you find out why.”- Mark TwainIf your truly in love with the results of what you do(the why) then you can navigate the tough 95% with grace and passion too.Switch No.3 Being passionate about how you do itIf love and are passionate about what your doing, you don’t do it for gratitude, but rather you do it for yourself. Love the concept of doing things with excellence and thrive on it. Bringing passion to anything you do no matter how boring it is, is an extremely difficult task.People who live by the how switch is truly inspiring. No matter what profession your in bringing enthusimsm and excellence is a result of how you do things, rather than why or what, because those can only carry you so far. When you have passion, opportunity will find you, and people will beat a path to your door.Switch No.4 Being passionate about who you do it for.If anything else fails, this thing is always consistent, you will do things for who it benefits. He shares the story of one of the people that attended one of his forums. The person’s name is Todd Duncan. He has hit rock bottom and what motivated him to get back to the top wasn’t the how or what, but rather the only thing that mattered was who.At 45 Todd was at the pinnacle of success, he was an author of twelve books, public speaker, and owned a successful business. Todd not only succeed in his professional life, but also his private life. He made a wrong move, even though it looked like the perfect move. It cost him millions, and in the middle of recovering he had even sell the business bearing his name. This caused him to lose his company and job, while maintaining a non compete. He was stuck in the endless abyss of legal battles, but fate turned for the worst and his wife had cancer. She later passed away. Later the person who fired him settled causing him to recover everything he lost.I asked him one gut wrenching question why did he enter a battlefield that had just punished him, embarrassed, and beaten him so mercilessly? He answered, “I was instantly a single father of my two teenage boys who had just lost their mom… I had school tuition and mortgages to pay, and debt to manage”He had to become a pillar of strength not for himself but rather for his family behind him.“ If you haven’t found something you are willing to die for, you aren’t fit to live”- Martin Luther KingIt doesn’t matter which switch you flip, but rather as long as the choice matters to you. Once you flip the switch, it’ll give you the boost you need to persevere through the dips, twists, and loops of the track ahead on the entrepreneur roller coaster.Finding Your Fight“Almost every great achievement began with someone finally getting,`Enough!` and standing up to fight.”- Darren HardyA good enemy gives you reason to get passionate, a nemesis pushes you to your limits. Love and hate are the same thing. If you love something, you equally hate what threatens it.Finding Your StrengthThe entrepreneur roller coaster is about how well you can identify your unique advantages, and to move your business forward. In the 1990’s billionaire Warren Buffet did not invest in internet stocks. He was clowned by everyone, but surprise the internet bubble popped and he was called a genius. When asked why he didn’t invest, he held up his index finger and thumb to make a circle he called this his circle of competency. I only get involved in opportunities that are inside this circle. We all have unique skills, talents, and advantages and it is our job to identify it.Were you born strong? When Darren Hardy was a child his teacher once said to him that “success was not in your DNA”The teacher implied to him that even if your not successful at writing, you are successful at other tones. The connotations behind those weird meant everything was decided from the moment he was born. She simply meant that he was not good at writing, but rather he will never be good at it.He admitted that his DNA wasn’t special, but then againSteve Jobs was born to two college students who didn’t want to raise him and gave him up for adoption.Mark Cuban was born to an automobile upholsterer. He started as a bartender, then got a job in software sales from which he was fired.Former Secretary of State and retired General Colin Powell was born in Harlem to immigrant parents from Jamaica. He was a solid C student.Tony Hawks was so hyperactive that he was tested for psychological problems.Barbara Corcoran, known as the Queen of New York City, is one of eleven children, started as a waitress, and admits to having been fired from more jobs than most people hold in a lifetime.Everyone single one of these people went through turmoil and they all were on the cover of Success magazine. You are the creator of your destiny as long as you walk on this earth.Strength TrainingAround David Foster's 60th birthday Darren Hardy decided to interview him. The hitman maker behind celine dion and many more.Even after winning 6 grammys he still went on to work 7 days a week and more than 40 hours a week. He had literally won the game he had money and fame so I asked him why?He said to me” On a Saturday morning, when it’s quiet, there is no place I would rather be on the planet no exotic beach, no lounge chair, no golf course than in my studio making great art. That’s not working, but rather that's living to me”This lead Darren Hardy to the conclusion that successful people aren’t genius, but rather maniacs. There is this false narrative that people are born geniuses or have some innate talent. This is the exact opposite people on top of the game merely found something they love. They developed a nearly maniacal drive to continually improve their skills performance, and outcomes. Why is it that we fall for the myth of innate talent? It’s really simple and Darren summed it up into one phrase.Darren Hardy said that “ The thought that I can’t is a lie. We use it to excuse ourselves from trying.”The sad reality of the situation is we use other the excuse of genetic luck, while avoiding disappointment in ourselves.Micheal Jordan Said “Everyone has talent, but ability takes hard work.Chapter 2Secure your shoulder harness“Great Spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds”- Albert EinsteinThe definition of a freak is: A person who is obsessed with or unusually enthusiastic about specified interest.Hearing this, wouldn’t it be hard to believe that an entrepreneur isn’t a freak. The opposite of a freak is normal. Normal is defined as: Conforming to the standard or the common type.He uses a description of a crab trap and why does such a fast and agile, always get caught by the thousands. They have a human like traits and that is to drag down whatever that doesn’t conform. When a crab falls for the trap and takes the bait. More crabs follow, just to follow. So what happens when the bait is gone. Nothing they stay because all the other crabs are staying they conform. The next thing that happens it crazy. When a crab tries to leave the trap, the other crabs claws them down forcing him to stay.Five Strategies to embrace your inner entrepreneurStop being likeableThe perfect example of this is the presidency. He used the example of Barack Obama during his reelection. He has become the most powerful man in the planet. He was mid speech, but he only won with 51% of the vote. So that meant the other 49% believed that he was unfit for office, but guess what he was in office for 100% of people that voted. The higher you climb, the more people hate you..If everyone around you thinks your doing a good job, something is wrong. Reframe your perception of disapproval, and it will empower you rather than drain you.Become LaughableAs a kid we all never wanted to be the bud of a joke. Well is always that because there a bunch people that were laughed at, but they had the final laugh. You ever heard about the joke where a man bought 160 acres of an orange groove to create the happiest place on earth.Well Walt Disney and his heirs are laughing with 515 million people that have truly entered a wonderland. There is a whole list of famous people that were laughed at when they shared their ambitions. Trust me and the wise implications of Gandhi, people laugh at revolutionaries, extraordinary achievers, and icons… at first. So if you believe in your dreams, visions, or plan, don't let snickering and finger point deter you.Define SuccessHe used a very personal example for himself, when faced a shift on his definition of success. His whole life, he worked and worked to be able to impress his father. One day he got so wealthy he decided to buy his dad a new house with all the works. The first thing his father did when he saw his new house was point out the flaws. Darren was devastated because he finally thought he would be able to impress his father, but it didn’t work out. He thought he was unsuccessful because of that. In that moment he realized that he would have to create his own definition of success.Right after this moment he went around and interviewed 100’s of successful people. One interview that shook the core of his beliefs around success was Maria Shriver. Her answer led him to the idea that too often do we base our success on other people and not enough time trying to crave our own version of success.Simply speaking your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own voice, heart, and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.Get a GripThis is another story that he read, that changed his opinion of the way people should live their lives. This article he read broke down some common stats around funerals. The article stated that you could live a long full life as a good citizen, a good friend, and a good human… Even then only an average of ten people would care enough to cry. This wasn’t the worst part. 50% of people will skip your burial and go to the afterparty because the rain.He then explains the 18-40-65 rules. That simply means that as an eighteen year old we constantly worry about everyone else’s opinion. Then when we’re 40 we only care about our loved ones feelings. Then the 65 rule which means we realize that no one is really thinking about us.Reduce Recovery TimeOn the journey to be an entrepreneur we all will face step backs, failure, and disappointment, and obstacles. These kinds of problems are mandatory, and yes, they hurt. You will get hurt over and over, what separates the freaks from the normals is how long it takes for you to get back up. It is in moments of great disparity where we realize our next steps and marks for achievement.Martin Luther King Jr said “The ultimate measure of a man is not where stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge.”We can either be the men who overcome insecurity and turmoil to reach the everest of achievement or we fall into the depths and be buried by the waves of mediocrity. You can either be a challenger or a conformer. The path gets dark, sometimes dark then others, but there will be few moments of light. Those moments will make it all worth it because comfort after adversity is triumph.Confucius said that “ Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but rather getting up every time we do.”If you want to get better, you have to push yourself. If you push yourself, your going to fail. What goes up must come down. If your not falling, then your not getting better. This philosophy is detrimental towards anyones growth. It is okay to fail, even better, it's important to fail because it’s proof that your trying and your aiming to be better than your old self and the limits set by that. With that mindset setbacks and obstacles shouldn’t be moments of despair, but rather moments of celebration.

Okay, without further ado, here’s Eric and Jaye’s incredible story of how they lost 230 pounds (and kept it off!).
Eric and Jaye’s Inspirational Weight Loss Story
Jaye and I met in high school and instantly became sweethearts. At age 15, she was my first love, and I was hers. We were inseparable, and by 17, promised to be together forever. Then I joined the Army and was sent to point a machine gun at East Germany. We promised to wait for each other, but my temptation was stronger than my promises. So I sent her a letter, breaking our engagement, and we lost contact.
Before I knew it, forty years had passed. I thought about Jaye often, which usually made me feel sad. I fell in and out of other relationships, but never felt the connection with another woman that I felt with her. My main bucket list goal became to see her again before I died, but she didn’t use Facebook or the Internet, so I couldn’t find her. Would we die apart before I could make amends?
Regular Dieting Wasn’t Working For Me
The years had not been kind to me. My weight crept up slowly over the years. In 2010, by age 51, I weighed 340 pounds and had a 52-inch waist. I was also taking 15 different medications, including daily insulin injections for type 2 diabetes, anti-depressants, and drugs to control my blood pressure, cholesterol, and weight.
One day, at a physical, my doctor bluntly told me that I needed to either schedule bariatric surgery or purchase a cemetery plot, because I would likely need one within the next five years. Like many obese Americans, I had tried and failed almost every diet and weight loss plan ever marketed in the US. I failed on each of these diets after finding them unsustainable and requiring such things as extreme exercise, food deprivation, or eating mostly meat and no carbohydrates.
My condition seemed hopeless. I seemed to eat the same foods as everyone else, but I just kept getting larger and sicker with age. As a last-ditch effort to avoid bariatric surgery, I decided to get a second opinion. But this time, I consulted with a licensed naturopathic doctor trained in nutrition, rather than another medical doctor who probably had not received nutrition training in medical school.
A Plant-Based Diet Transformed My Life
Instead of prescribing more drugs or procedures, my new doctor prescribed a plant-based diet and told me to adopt a dog from a local animal shelter. “What?” I said, surprised by her advice. I’d never owned a pet before. How could a dog help me lose weight and improve my health?
She explained that the root cause of my obesity and health problems was poor diet, exacerbated by the fact that I had become reclusive and stopped engaging in life. Her words hit home. It was difficult and painful for me to travel and walk.
The undisguised judgment of others who looked at me on the street felt shameful and humiliating. I had not only stopped going outside, but I lost contact with all my friends, and I hadn’t been on a date in 15 years. At the end of our first meeting, my new doctor told me that if I walked my new dog for 30 minutes twice each day and strictly followed her dietary advice, I had a good chance to get off all my medications, to normalize my health stats, and to achieve a healthy weight in just one year.
Really? I thought. How could that be possible? But since this new advice seemed a lot less extreme than surgery – why not just try what she is telling me to do and see if it works?
And Then, I Met Peety
While getting used to my new plant-based diet, I called a local pet shelter. I told the nice lady who answered the phone that I wanted to adopt an obese middle-aged dog, so we would have something in common. And that’s how I met Peety, a scruffy mixed-breed dog who had seen better days.
He was seven years old, at least 25 pounds overweight and, like me, seemed to have given up on life. But after first looking at each other with disappointment, we decided to go home and give each other a try. Peety and I quickly formed a bond of brotherhood that was more powerful than any relationship I had ever experienced, except for the unconditional love I had with Jaye so many years before.
Seeing how sick and overweight Peety was, I felt sorry for him and stopped feeling sorry for myself. I promised him that we would do everything possible to be happy and healthy so we could go on many excellent adventures and enjoy the rest of our lives together. Peety began looking at me as if I was the greatest person on earth. He believed in me until I became able to believe in myself.
His faith in me restored my self-confidence, which caused me to experience happiness and a sense of purpose. Because of Peety’s faith in me, I decided to become the person who he thought I was. Over the next year, simply by following my new doctor’s advice, switching to a plant-based diet, and walking Peety twice each day, I lost 150 pounds, and Peety lost 25.
I looked like a new man, and Peety looked like a new dog. Even better, I felt like a new person. I was able to get off all my medications and reverse my type 2 diabetes. We walked our neighborhood together each day and made many new friends. I got off the diet roller-coaster once and for all. And I’ve been able to effortlessly maintain my optimal weight for seven years now, medication-free.
Reunited, At Last!
One day, Peety’s shelter invited me to participate in a short film about my story, to promote adoption of shelter dogs and illustrate how helping animals, helps people. Soon after the film was released, it received millions of views and went viral. I began receiving thousands of emails each day, including more than one dozen unsolicited marriage proposals.
Fortunately, one of the people who saw my film was Jaye. She sent an email asking if I would like to talk by phone. And less than five minutes later, we were talking, for the first time in forty years. Jaye explained that she was divorced after an unhealthy marriage of 35 years and asked if I would like to see her again.
I immediately replied, “yes”. But then she said she was afraid that I wouldn’t like her again, because she had gained a lot of weight over the years. I let her know that I didn’t care about her weight – after being morbidly obese for more than two decades, I stopped seeing others based on their appearance, and learned to look at everyone based on their kindness and how they treated others.
One Year Later, We Had Lost a Combined 230 Pounds
Jaye and I were reunited in September 2016. She weighed 197 pounds, at 5’ 2”, and was size 20. She had pre-diabetes, with elevated A1C and glucose levels, and various other symptoms of chronic lifestyle disease. Partnering to do the same things that worked for me, we worked together to heal her body with plant-based nutrition and daily walks.
We fell in love all over again, and laughingly described our time apart as “40 years in the wilderness.” I showed her how to veganize all her favorite recipes, and how to make the dishes I enjoyed based on the plant-based cooking classes I had taken. We got married in December 2016.
Less than one year after reuniting, Jaye lost 82 pounds. Just by eating a plant-based diet and walking for a half an hour, twice daily, she dropped from 197 to 115 pounds, and from size 20 to size 2. All her health problems disappeared, and tests revealed that her medical stats and nutrient levels were all normal or optimized.
Best of all, in her own words, is that she now has limitless energy and feels better than she has felt in her entire life. In my opinion, at age 57, she looks better than she did at age 16.
