Marni had closed her eyes, expecting to wake back up in the monastery once her life force ran out in this illusion. All of her wounds would disappear in real life and she would slink back into the shadows of Abyss to think about how she messed up this time.

She does not wake up in the monastery, though.

Eyes still screwed tightly shut, she hears movement. First, the sound of claws tearing through flesh. Then, the sound of feet rushing toward her. She is not dead (yet), but still too light headed to open her eyes quite yet. She feels Andrei and Ophelia trying to stabilize her bleeding with what little they have on hand, soothing her all the while.

What gives? Don't they have a battle to focus on? It's not like they really need her to finish this battle, anyway.

Mortifying as it is to lie here and deal with the repercussions of saying something embarrassing thinking she would die and then not actually dying, it's only a matter of time until their enemies start to descend on them again.

Struggling first to sit upright and then unsteadily taking to her feet, Marni takes her lance back in hand. Her horse has run off somewhere, but she pays it no mind. She fights better on her feet anyway.

"Haha, even without Emblem Roy I'm still hard to kill!" Marni boasts to show her teammates that she's fine, even though she still feels a little woozy. She just needs to show them at their hard work in preserving her life has not gone to waste. "Just goes to show you how great I am! It'll take more than that to kill Marni!"

Twirling her lance in hand, Marni points it at the former king of Brodia.

"You see the big guy with the red hair? The girl is gonna try to rush me to protect him, so let's get him out of the way! I'll even go first!"

With the undeserved swagger of someone who definitely shouldn't be alive right now, Marni strides right up to not-Morion and jabs at him with her lance. It bounces right off of his shield as if it were merely a toy, making a pathetic little clink.

...In turn, he smacks back at her with his axe hard enough to send her sprawling. It's not entirely undeserved, considering she had toted around his dead body with all of the reverence of a sack of potatoes. It hurts like a bitch, but he can have this one, at least. It's only fair.

Still, the makeshift bandage holds itself in place, the final stitch holding her together. She picks herself up from the ground again and dusts herself off, twirling her cape.

"...Ha. Haha! Hahahaha!" She laughs giddily, childish joy overtaking her face. "See! I won't die! I'm totally invincible! It's all over for these losers now!"
