Just saw gifs of the variant’s outfit in the finale.. day = ruined. Please it’s so ugly and I hate the reasoning behind it so badly they’re always trying to strip Loki of who he is and it’s so sad like so what if he wants to wear the attire of his home realm where he is also royalty mind you 😞 now I have to go on a rant..

Not only was he stripped of his personality but also of anything that represented him. How anyone who claims to love Loki can tolerate this series, I have no idea. It was written by people who do not like Loki, or his fans. Like okay so the diminishing of Loki’s character is alright just because they put a scene of him crying for one episode while also skipping over the major event he previously went through to go on and talk about other characters and their struggles oh don’t piss me off.

The whole concept fucking pisses me off from the get go. I do not care about an alternate version of Loki. I think series fans fail to realize that our dislike of the series does not only lie with the mischaracterization. It also lies with the entire concept of the series. Loki had already existed for a decade before the series came out, and his own story was left unfinished. Why would I care about an alternate version of him from the Avengers (immediately before he was able to go through his most important character development in TDW btw) when he couldn’t even be written consistently after 2013?

Loki fan to Loki “fan”, I don’t care how much merch you have. I don’t care if you’ve met Tom multiple times. I don’t care if you’ve watched the movies (but I mean if they actually did, I figure something would click eventually) every single day. If you truly believe that the series did justice to Loki’s character as well as respected the previous writer’s work that implemented and laid down the definitive traits and aspects of his character for years only for them to get overlooked and completely erased in a few episodes a decade later, you do not love Loki. You are not a fan.

There are so many series diehards that have SO much merch or have met Tom like 30 times and it boggles my mind. Like you don’t even like Loki enough to see the difference of his characterization from 2011 to 2013 (or even fucking Ragnarok at this point. He still had at least a few aspects of who he is in it. I hate to defend it because it did him wrong as well, but I’ve got to be honest) vs in this this garbage ass series that bears his name, but does nothing except diminish it. Why be so invested financially in something you cannot think critically about? How do you not like… sense the difference?

I’ve also met Tom and have a LOT of merch. Is that what makes me a fan? No, Because what makes me a fan is my love for Loki and my dislike of the ignorance towards his character. I’m not saying this towards casual fans who enjoyed the series and bought a funko pop. Like i really don’t give a fuck and I’m not expecting them to know anything about Loki. But I’d expect better from people who claim to be his fans.

In 2021 when the series first came out, I was critical from the beginning. I did not like the concept, and also didn’t really trust marvel with doing anything good with Loki. When I watched that first episode, I just knew it was over from the first few minutes or so. And I was a fairly new fan of Loki!! Like how could anyone accept this bullshit? Also I could’ve swore so many more people disliked it then. I’ll never forget it lol my entire TikTok FYP was just people shitting on the episodes each week. Especially the finale. They were like “yeah guys uh.. Maybe it’ll get better.” Then the finale came out and everyone flipped LOL

I don’t care if people think I’m harsh for saying any of this. You straight up are not a Loki fan if you’re a fan of the series. You like the idea of him maybe, but you don’t like him for who he truly is and that’s sad because neither did the characters around him. Misunderstood in canon as well as by his own “fans” it’s so over.

Oh also notice how series fans pretty much never talk about TDW. They cannot comprehend an MCU project that takes place directly after the Avengers and actually does Loki’s character right. Lmfao.

Loki “fans” if they were forced to actually enjoy his character in canon instead of only in fanon for one second:

thoughts on bnha ending

i had no idea that the manga was over until it popped up on my fyp on tiktok and i got spoiled for it and i have a few thoughts

losing one for all

i don't particularly care about izuku losing OFA? i mean, don't get me wrong, it's a cool quirk, but i've always wanted to see what izuku could have done without a quirk!

i think having the powerless character be the MC in a shounen manga would have been a really cool thing to explore! like, he's not anything unique. he's completely ordinary (beside the green hair). how would he adapt, how would he rise to the challenges around him? what sort of tech would he need to invest in, build for himself, so he can keep up with his peers?

i think that would've been cooler than OFA. kinda cool to see that bakugou ended up helping to design a suit for izuku to be a hero without a quirk. i'm kinda surprised that it isn't something izuku immediately jumped into after he lost OFA, but we all need a break from our passions, i guess

2. losing contact with 1-A

as upsetting as it is that izuku ended up losing contact with class 1-a after graduation, it's understandable. all his friends are pro-heroes now, but he's back in the shadows because of his Quirkless status. they're busy with their own lives, and he's busy with his.

it's sad, but it's just a fact of life. i haven't kept up contact with any of my high school friends since i graduated. i'm sure i'll end up seeing them again, of course-- if my school ever does class reunions, maybe we'll meet again there!-- and friendships for me don't immediately dissolve when we stop talking. i still see my hs friends as my friends!

3. teacher izuku

VERY ICONIC I LOVE IT IZUKU BEING A TEACHER AT UA WHILE NOT QUITE HIS DREAM STILL GETS HIM CLOSE TO THE HERO SOCIETY HE LOVED AND ADMIRED SO MUCH AS A KID AND HE GETS TO BE AIZAWA'S CO-WORKER. hilarious.

it's even funnier that he doesn't look a day over 16/17 in the final chapter. like aizawa looks like this gruff old man and here's the baby-faced savior of the world who looks like he should be one of his students. hilarious.

overall, i do think that BNHA missed some cool points in storytelling that would have been interesting/fun to explore in a shounen manga, but it's not that Bad of an ending as compared to........ other....... things

also btw i stopped watching/reading after the arc with Eri so i have no idea what happens in-between that and the ending

tiktok and youtube loveee recommending me old 40’s-50’s era cartoons and i love to watch them and i always go like “man i wonder why i dont watch these more often” then it hits me with the “i hate my BITCH WIFE” “”humor”” or just the straight up racism and its like oh yeah mm that’ll do it huh. its an interesting experience to flip the “okay is there racism in this one or not” coin every time an old cartoon shows up and i get invested in it

I COMPLETELY MISINTERPRETED THIS THE FIRST TIME I SET MY EYES ON THIS. i read this as people just deliberately uploading TikToks isolating racist or sexist scenes and captioning it like “😂😂😂😂😂💯” and was like. why would you do that. but i also didn’t doubt it for a second because i definitely get those YouTube compilations that are like “Top 10 Racist Moments From Cartoons #ChildhoodRUINED” in my recommendations WAYYYYY TOO OFTEN. i’m honored to have my curiosity and research rewarded by the same thumbnail of Jerry in blackface staring at me because i looked up a cartoon clip i needed for reference. thanks YouTube

BUT YEAH.. i’m basically just repeating what i said in an earlier ask here, but it’s definitely an unavoidable aspect of these cartoons and is a cross you just kinda have to bear as a historian 🙃 if anything, it IS very fascinating to research (not that gross perpetuations of harmful stereotypes is something to be like “but i got to LEARN about it! 😇 isn’t that nifty?”), but it’s illuminating—and infuriating!—to read about where certain stereotypes come from and why, or to put faces to names (or faces to caricatures) and be like hey, Lincoln Perry was the first Black actor to receive a screen credit! Jack Benny refused to eat at any establishment that wouldn’t also serve Eddie Anderson! Fats Waller was kidnapped by the mafia to play at Al Capone’s birthday party!

not that any of the cartoons featuring caricatures of the figures above were touching on these, because they were too busy belittling them to one note stereotypes, but it definitely got me invested in scoping out why they chose these guys as their caricatures, who are they, what have they done, etc. so i’m glad to have that additional curiosity and knowledge, but yeah, the circumstances are very unfortunate

Literally hadn't even watched Naruto or Boruto or anything. Saw fanart of them that was just so so cute. Went to ask my friend who is obsessed with Naruto about them because like, I literally didn't even know the character names, just knew they were from Naruto. He informed me they are not only cute but also canonically married. And I fell HARD. I tried to resist for several months but uh. Nope. Somehow they also got me to watch Naruto. I counted down the episodes until Sai's first appearance and screenshot every scene they show up on screen together to send to my friend. He says he's amused. I'm not sure. But I also am not sure I care if he isn't.

Story of Sportarobbie:

This is gonna be awkward to explain since I haven't actually watched the show yet at the time of writing this. But a Sportarobbie post randomly appeared on my Tumblr fyp and, out of curiosity, I checked the tag out and got HELLA INVESTED. And then a fanfic recommendation popped up and I was like "Sure, why not? I'm just reading this for fun anyways.". AND I LOVED THE FIC!!! I HAVEN’T EVEN WATCHED THE SHOW YET AND A 24-CHAPTER ARRANGED MARRIAGE FIC ALREADY GOT ME INVESTED. the rest of this post is just the experience i’ve had recently that sparked the first part of this post, also the very end has the biggest “confirmation” i’ve seen/had. 

if you’re anything like me, change is terrifying. 100% terrifying. so even though you are manifesting changes, weather they’re big or small, you start to panic or get scared. 

probably my top desire (i’ve already had several things come to me so far,)  at this time is my relationship with my sp. for me this is going to mean i move to a new state without my family, literally going into the unknown. 

not only do i have that little voice in my head that likes to pop up from time to time, but i also have people like my older sister who literally look me in the face and tell me i couldn’t handle it and what not. obviously i didn’t listen, because i know i can.

within the last week or 2 i’ve noticed a change in how i feel. i’ve started to somewhat plan my wedding to my sp, i literally cried while looking at wedding stuff on pinterest because getting married means growing up, and i just couldn’t handle that thought at that time. it scared me. i have thoughts pop up that would’ve discouraged me before. certain things have happened in my day to day life that made me wish it was done yesterday. but for every reason to give up i’ve had, i’ve seen multiple things pop up literally everywhere that have said don’t give up, it’s almost here. i have the gut feeling it’s almost here. 

a tik tok popped up on my fyp last night. it said “if you’re seeing this on Nov, 15, 16, or 17 it’s a sign, this is what you need to hear right now” and it had been 1 of 3 videos the person had made, typically i roll my eyes and go to the next video or whatever but i didn’t. the lady said “DO NOT GIVE UP, that thing your about to get, the worst is done, you’re assuming the worst, but the worst is already over. i feel like you invest a lot of time and energy into whatever this is, DO NOT GIVE UP, you’re not being patient, it’s gonna pay off, it’s about to take off, so whatever it is just DON’T GIVE UP. your homework, keep doing it. your relationship just pull through because it’s coming.” the video came from @hothighpriestess.
