Word count: 3.1K
A/N: this is "low" key inspired by otis and ruby from sex education, i thought they were cute.

"Oh fuck Y/n, you're doing so good" JJ grunts as you speed your pace bouncing your hips against his shaft, riding him like your life depends on it.
Tonight was being just another boring Thursday night at the outer banks, at least until your best friend, JJ Maybank, calls you saying that he was alone at the chateau, and asked you to come over. A few months ago you guys updated your friendship with some benefits, and since then a day without your other Pogue friends means a huge opportunity to enjoy yourselves together, so why not.
"You fill me up so nice J" you moaned tugging his blonde locks while you sank yourself on his cock one more time.
Incredible as it sounds, this is the first time you're riding JJ's cock. After lots of tries, he finally left out his dominant side and let you take control of him, but obviously at some point he would buck his hips and meet your thrusts, making it feel even better. Honestly, he wasn't expecting it to be this good. He loves the way your breasts are pressed against his chest while you move your hips roughly, this position basically gives him a free pass to cover your neck with bites and hickies. And all of this plus your moans filling up the room are driving him insane.
"Fuck, I can't" he breathed out under your ear but you kept with your pace, looking for your high, and you could say it wasn't so far "Y/n, I think I'm gonna- oh fuck"
"What the actual fuck JJ?" you cursed panting when you felt the stick liquid scratching your inside walls and reached your high too.
At the beginning of this 'thing' you were still two good kids who always protected yourselves, but as deep as you dived in each others lusts, you discovered that neither you nor JJ were the biggest fans of condoms, so you made a deal, you can do it without them, as long as he don't release inside of you. And by the looks of it, he just broke the deal.
"Did you just came inside me?" you just aren't freaking out because you're still dizzy from your orgasm
"Shit I think I did" he said by passing his hands through his messy hair and heavy breathing.
"This is not a joke, JJ. Didn't you felt it coming?" you asked in a hard tone while reaching for his shirt to clean yourself up
"It was impossible not to feel it" the blonde answered with a smirk
"Then why don't you warned me, pulled off or whatever?" you now have a worried tone in your voice
"I tried! but come on Y/n, I'm mild high and you were having no mercy with me!" he exclaimed throwing his hands on the air
"Don't put this all on me" you ran your hands through your face and trying to stay calm, realizing the big problem you had just created.
"Hey, I'm sorry okay, even though you were riding me like a goddess, it was my dick who painted you so..." he said getting close to you and wrapping your naked body with his arms.
You softly giggled relaxing a bit with his touch, you know he's worried too, his brain is only a little slower than yours to process information, but you're sure that once he remember that one of the consequences of this "slide" could be an unexpected pregnancy and you becoming parents with 17 years, he'll freak out.
"So what do we do now?" he asked caressing your hair
"Since we're on the cut, without the twinkie and there's none 24-hour drug store in here, we'll go to sleep and wait until tomorrow morning to go buy a next morning pill." you explained what seemed to be the best option now.
"It means you're staying over?" he asked and you nodded smirking "Sounds good to me then"
After that, you guys took a quick shower just to free your bodies from the sweat and other things even more disgusting, and didn't even bothered in putting back your clothes, you just cuddled and fell asleep naked under a thin blanket, because above all, his body's heat still makes you feel safe.
¤¤¤
You can't say that you slept like an angel this night, you were too worried for it. So as soon as you saw the bright light from outside trespass the room, you carefully reached your phone on the nightstand and checked the time, it was almost 8 in the morning. Considering you don't want to be naked with your best friend in the spare room when John B arrives, and that the sooner you take the pill the better, you decided it was time to get up. You slowly pulled JJ's arm away from your waist and stood up without waking him up. You picked your underwear from the floor and put them on, along with your jeans shorts from the day before and lent one of JJ's shirts, the one with a Kildare Marina print. The boy only woke up when you got back from the bathroom, and opened the curtains, basically torturing him.
"Oh come on, what time is it?" he grunted scratching his eyes with the back of his hands.
"Time to fix the previous night, sweetheart" you answered picking up some clothes that were still on the floor.
"Can't we just wait a little more?" he yawned.
"No, we can't, unless you want to increase the chances of me having a mini you on my uterus" you stared him cocking your eyebrows.
"Okay, right, I'm up" he stood up quickly, but he wasn't 100% awake yet.
"Uh, try to put some clothes on, I'll be in the kitchen" you faked a disgusted face pointing to his not too little exposed friend.
While JJ was doing his morning routine, you started looking for something you could eat, but the old pizza slices, mold breads and cereal wastes didn't seem at all attractive to you and your lack of hunger. At that moment the feelings that consume you most are those of concern and guilt, concern because you know that the next morning pill isn't 100% effective, and you definitely can't handle having a baby now, you are too irresponsible for this, and that's why you also feel guilty, because if you wouldn't had accepted that goddamn "no condom" deal, nothing of this will be happening. But suddenly you were dragged away from your thoughts by the sound of the Chateau's front door opening, you could say that John B was trying to be quiet, but it didn't work very well, since the doors of the house are old and creak with any movement.
"Shit!" the brunette whisper-shouted placing a hand on his chest when he entered the kitchen "Wow Y/n, you scared the shit out of me, what are you doing?"
"Uh.... breakfast?" you quirked your eyebrows showing him the cereal box in your hands
"Yeah I can see you're doing your breakfast, 'what are you doing here?' is what I meant" he said placing his keys on the counter.
"I'm waiting for JJ, we have some important things to do" you said staring your cereal bowl, avoiding to meet eyes with your friend.
"JJ? Doing important things this early in the morning?" you pursed your lips in a suggestive smile and nodded your head "And why are you wearing his shirt?"
You almost chocked with milk at the question, stuttering to find a plausible answer "Because... I- spilled toothpaste on mine?" it definitely sounded more like a question.
John B was about to question you again but thank God JJ finally joined you, now wearing his classic boots and cargo shorts, and some random shirt.
"Oh hi Jombie" he said scratching his eyes with the back of his hand.
Before your friend could even answer, you stood up and made your way towards JJ "Finally sleeping beauty, can we go now?" you said linking your arms.
"I was actually craving for some breakfast first" he pointed to the table, where John B was putting some cereal for himself.
"You know what might happen if we get late, don't you?" you whispered quirking your eyebrows and giving the blonde a serious look and heading to the front porch.
"Ok, breakfast can wait, see you later JB, oh and we're taking the twinkie" he grabbed the keys John B had previously dropped on the counter and hushed to meet you outside.
"See ya weirdos" John B shook his head and rolled his eyes seeing the antics of his two best friends.
The drive to the drugstore was silent, but not an awkward silent, more like a reflexing silence. The more you tried to stay calm and shrug off all the "what ifs" in your head, the more the anxiety took hold of you. For JJ, you were going to take the pill and everything would work out, but you know it's not like that, these emergency methods don't always work, and if it doesn't work this time, you have no idea how to deal with a possible pregnancy at 17. What your friends will think when you come clean and tell them about your escapades and that they resulted in your pregnancy? How would you explain this to your parents? How would they react? How JJ's father would react? All this thoughts were zoning out in your brain when a gentle touch stopped you from freaking out. You moved your gaze from the window to JJ's hand rubbing your tight, and then you looked at his face to see a reassuring smile, like saying "it's going to be ok" but without words. You smiled back, feeling the anxious feeling leave your body and mind. It didn't take long for you guys to be parking the van a few meters from the drugstore.
You were about to enter the store when something clicked on your mind "Wait!" you said grabbing JJ's arm, making him stumble on his feet.
"What's wrong?" he frowned staring at you.
"JJ we live on an island. What if someone sees me buying next morning pills? I don't want the whole obx gossiping about me and my sexual slides" you said crossing your arms and looking away from him.
"Okay, I'll do it then" he said and you immediately stared at him, surprised and trying to figure out if he was being serious, just when you were about to complain, he gently squeezed your shoulders "Wait here, I'll be right back"
And just like that you were left alone in front the small store, you looked around, thankfully the street was pretty empty, so you decided to sit down on the curb and wait for him to come back. Which was faster than you expected. As soon as you heard the bell, you got up and waited for him to give you the box that he had in his hands.
"These are just bubble gums" he shrugged rolling his eyes.
"Bubble gums? What the hell JJ?" you laughed in disbelief.
"She said she couldn't sell it for me because I don't have a fucking vagina" JJ protested trying to not be so loud.
You sighed licking your lips. But is better to deal with buying the pill in person, to deal with having a baby. You opened your purse, looking for your sunglasses and when you found them you tapped JJ's shoulder "stay at the door, you'll be my look out"
"At your disposal, boss" he said holding the door while you two entered the store, you put on your glasses trying to disguise a little smirk in your lips.
You slowly walked between the hallways, pretending to be some random costumer, not that you weren't, you just don't want to seem so desperate. When you finally reached the cash counter, you looked over your shoulder to see JJ nodding and giving you tumbs up.
"Hey, can I have a next morning pill?" you mumbled twitching your nose.
"Sorry, I couldn't hear you" the woman on the cashier said.
"A next morning pill, please" this time you were clearer, masking the awkwardness with an even more awkward smirk.
"When did you last have sex?" the cashier asked.
"Last night" you stated, isn't it obvious? you thought to yourself.
"Did you use contraception?" the question made you stomach turn. Why did you have to be so irresponsible? Stupid deal.
"No" your whisper could barely be heard by you, let alone the woman behind the counter.
"Miss, did you use contraception?" she repeated the question after your lack of response.
"No, we didn't" your eyes widened when you heard JJ's voice coming from a few meters away.
Both you and the cashier stared at him, who immediately regretted the previous words "Sorry, I'm just the look out" he scratched the back of his neck.
Returning the attention just between you and the mild-age woman, she made a few more questions and after finishing to fill up your form, she finally gave you the little box with all the prescriptions to take the pill. You also asked for two Pepsi cans for you and JJ, you were about to pay the woman when you felt an around your waist.
"What do you think you're doing, lady?" JJ asked taking your wallet from your hands.
"Well, if you please give my wallet back, I was going to pay for those things" you stared at him trying to reach his other hand behind his back.
"No way, I'll pay for it" he returned the wallet for you and grabbed his own one on his pocket.
"J, you don't have to, it takes two to tango remember?" you protested biting your inner lip and giving him non-intentional puppy eyes.
"Then we should at least split it" he definitely has a point now.
"Okay, fine, you win" you rolled your eyes giving up and earning a grin from your best friend.
¤¤¤
After you and JJ have paid for the pill and your sodas, he said he wanted to go somewhere else, so he drove the twinkie to the old forts on Battery Jasper, some kind of cliff or mountain where we could almost see the entire Outer Banks. You guys sat on some old big rocks and while you struggled against the wind to try to read the pill bull, JJ decided to break the silence.
"Do you think we should break the deal?" he hesitantly asked.
"You mean the 'condom free' deal or all the friends with benefits deal?" you chuckled looking at the paper in your hands.
"Do you want to stop what we've been doing? 'Cause if you do I'm not stopping you, it's just- I really enjoy spending time with you and..." he started rumbling but you soon interupted him.
"Hey! chill out blondie!" you giggled cupping his face with your right hand "We don't need to stop it, even because I like messing around with you too, a lot. We just need to be more careful" you explained.
"Okay..." he relaxed with your touch and you two shared a smile and stared at each other for a few seconds.
You cleared your throat when you remembered that you were the one hurrying him up and now you almost forgot that you have a pill to take asap. You opened your Pepsi and medicine, putting the pill on your tongue and taking a sip of the drink to help you swallow. JJ watched you and while you were drinking again you heard little laughter coming from him.
"What?" you gave him a suspicious look.
"Nothing" he giggled making you narrow your eyes at him "I just imagined us being arrested for killing a poor little baby"
"So would you prefer waking up at 3am to changing diapers?" you laughed arching you eyebrows.
"Ew, no" you both erupted in laughter, you love the way you and JJ never feel awkward, not even in scary moments like these.
When you recovered from your crisis of laughter, you took a deep breath and felt a grip on your tight, you looked up to see JJ staring at the horizon, and you could say that he was thinking about something.
"You know, I would like to have a baby with you" he said with a shy grin.
"Oh come on J, give it a rest" you shook your head chuckling and taking another sip of your drink.
"No, I meant it! Of course not right now, but if we reach our thirties without meeting our perfect pairs, we could marry each other and just maybe have a little bit of kids" he said nonchantly.
"A little bit of kids?" you smiled and stared at him, trying to figure if he was being serious or not "I can't believe you're real Maybank" you giggled.
"What? Have you never heard that people are happier when they marry their best friends?" he suggested.
"Maybe" you shrugged looking away.
"So what? Do we have a deal?" he bit his lip quirking his eyebrows in your direction.
"I'm not making anymore deals with you, blondie" you said, immediately seeing his happy face fall to a sad one "But maybe, just maybe, I liked your idea" you smirked turning your face to look at him.
"I knew it!" he cheered with a kiss on your cheek and clicking your cans he said "To our future possible marriage"
"Cheers" you gave a little laugh, which was interrupted by your phone ringing.
As soon as you unlocked your screens, you were surprised with dozens of notifications on your twitter, and also 2 messages from John B, you opened them first.
Jombie 🏄‍♂‍: so is that the "important things" you guys had to do? am i missing something?
Jombie 🏄‍♂‍: 📷 Photo
When you downloaded the file, you came across a screenshot, it was from Topper's last tweet: a picture taken from outside the drugstore, through the glass wall, you and JJ standing in front of the cash counter, his arm on your waist, and thanks god, only the two Pepsi cans could be seen on the counter. Your eyes widened even more when you read the caption "Looks like Maybank and Y/l/n finally assumed their shit! What would those lovebirds be doing on a drugstore this early in the morning?"
"What happened?" JJ asked seeing how your expression went blank looking at your phone.
"Weren't you supposed to be the look out?" you said turning your phone to him and pointing to the screen blowing with notifications, but still showing the picture on Topper's tweet.
"Shit."
They have some things to explain now, or maybe some good excuses to came up with.

One thing I feel should be said is the fate of the League members, excluding Muscular and Moonfish as those two are just plain murderers.
The League does get saved, in a way. Just like Toga was allowed into the Hero Course, Dabi, Spinner, Mustard, and Shigaraki are also in it, while Compress, Magne, and Twice are going through a different program meant for vigilantes to get them certified as Heroes.
Mustard, who's real name is Yudokuna Busujima, is not technically old enough yet to enter UA. But he has a secured recommendation from Midnight, who also took him in as her own son after his situation with his parents came to light and was nearly as bad as the abuse Toga endured. While not forced to suppress his quirk, Yudokuna was mocked and bullied relentlessly for having a villainous quirk that he wasn't even safe from himself. Midnight has shown far more love and compassion for him in the month he's lived with her than his birth mother had shown in all his life.
Spinner, or Shuichi Iguchi as he's also known as, would have gone through the vigilante program, but had insisted on going to UA. In his own words, 'I know many of the students have the spirit of true heroism in them. I'd be a fool not to walk the same path as them, to help them continue becoming the kind of heroes Stain would entrust the future of the world to'. Shuichi was put under the guardianship of the Asui family, as his quirk had the same limitations and downsides as the family's frog-like quirks. Despite his worries they would not accept him, the Asui family welcomed him with open arms, with Samidare just being glad to have an older brother finally.
Tomura, or Tenko as he's going by again, along with his older sister Hana(who in my canon didn't die but instead temporarily lost her arm when Tenko grabbed her but survived thanks to her own quirk stopping the damage at her shoulder and re-growing the arm, leaving a rough scar around her arm up at the joint) are being watched over by Inko Midoriya and Toshinori Yagi, effectively having been adopted by the greenette mother. Inko always was a bit of a bleeding heart, so Tenko's story really got to her. Toshinori felt as if he had to be there for Tenko as well, as this was his mentor's grandson. Tenko himself is secretly a bit glad to be given this chance, and is slowly being more open about it thanks to Izuku presence along with Hana's.(To those curious, I made Hana's quirk be the opposite of Tenko's. So instead of destroying whatever all five fingers touch, Hana's quirk makes it grow. Given how it works, it was given the unfortunate name of Cancer, as it causes cells to divide in a fashion similar to cancer cells. This doesn't cause the cells to become cancerous though, as long as she keeps focus, so she is a very effective medic in the family. And yes, she did offer Toshinori to help heal most of the damage AFO did. He's still skeletal, but at least there's no more coughing up blood and he has some stomach now.)
Dabi was unsurprisingly released into his family's custody. The reveal that he was the believed deceased oldest brother Touya obviously made waves. Natsuo and Fuyumi asked him so many questions on how he survived and why he never contacted them, Shoto was just speechless, Rei was happy to see her eldest son again, and Enji? Enji, to the surprise of his kids especially Touya and Shoto, was crying. That's when he let it out, all the things he had wish he would have told Touya all those years ago, the things he should have told him if he had been stronger emotionally. He let his son know that he was sorry, for how he had treated him while training and for the way he had tried to make Touya stop continuing that reckless training. He knew words wouldn't fix the mental and emotional scars he had left on his eldest son, nor could they excuse what he did. Enji knew Touya wouldn't forgive him, not yet at least. All he asked, was for Touya to allow him to prove through actions that he would do better by his son. Prove to all of his family he would be a man worth being proud of. Touya's anger at his father was mostly extinguished thanks to his siblings telling him how their father had still trained Shoto, but was far less brutal about it. It was still grueling and intensive, but at least he was not letting Shoto hurt himself. Something Enji notes as him learning from how he failed to train Touya with that same compassion a father should have.
Jin Bubaigawara, while not having a foster family like the younger members of the League, is assigned as an assistant to Eraserhead. Or at least, that's how official documents have it. The program Jin is in was meant for vigilantes to become licensed heroes. As most vigilantes were active at night, most of them became underground heroes like Eraserhead(An underground hero is one that stays out of the spotlight of the news, and generally do their job at night when crime is ore frequent. They can be seen as the opposite to action heroes like All Might, who fight crime in the day where the news crews have more likely to cover the fights). Jin's quirk makes him very handy when it comes to laying traps and ambushes.
Magne also is documented as one of Eraserhead's sidekicks with Twice. Unlike Twice though, Kenji took a lot more convincing to accept the deal. She was a woman that wanted to be free to do as she wanted, so when Aizawa told her that underground heroes are basically able to make calls without needing to worry about consequences from the Hero Commission, so long as they just kept up on the paperwork all heroes had to do, it wasn't hard to believe she accepted. Kenji also sometimes makes appearances at UA to cover for Aizawa whenever he's called out during a school day. To say 1-A is excited when Big Sis Magne's heading up class would be an understatement.
Atsuhiro Sako is the third member of the League taking part in the vigilante rehabilitation program with Jin and Kenji. Unlike those two, Atsuhiro is under the supervision of Thirteen, as he is aiming for towards rescue for his end goal. His quirk is very helpful in rescue attempts, as compressed rescue targets are stabilized for the time they're in the marble, and his previous uses while part of the League show it can help reach those trapped easier. Atsuhiro is also a showman, so the underground life just did not suit his tastes.
Kurogiri is the only League member not going through rehabilitation. That is because currently, his mind is being attempted to be fixed. Upon Eraserhead and Present Mic being left to handle getting Kurogiri's cooperation, they made a startling discovery. The friend they had thought was long dead, Oboro Shirakumo, was alive right in front of them. This lead to what is happening to him now, an attempt to repair Oboro's mind and get him back fully. Only time will tell when he will be better. If he will get better.

In My Reality | Chapter 1: Dreams & Wishes
Yo, I finally finished the actual first chapter of this new series! I originally wanted to get this out within a week of the prologue’s release but this turned out to be longer than I imagined. All of my TLC went into this for the past three weeks, I haven’t felt this passionate for a project in a long time. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do! ^-^
(This is a Tatsumi brothers x Reader)
(To read the first part, click -> Prologue)
(To read the next part, click → Chapter 2)
(Click “Keep reading” to read the story)

"Geez [n/n], you look so tired," Kamida pointed out. "Did you get any sleep last night?"
"Yeah, I did," I told them before a yawn escaped my mouth. "Just not as much as I wanted."
The three of us were standing at one of the local bus stops that took us downtown. It was our usual meeting spot since it crossed paths with the sidewalks that led us to our houses. We were heading to the arcade, our pockets filled with coins and our phones. The two artists were awake and ready but I on the other hand wished I stayed in bed.
"Oh?" Kamida quirked a brow.
"Did you go to sleep when we ended the call?" Meri-chan questioned, narrowing her eyes at me. 'Course in my sleepy state, I wasn't bothered by her laser stare.
"No-"
"[Name]!"
"Look, I wasn't ready to fall asleep at the time. Can you blame me?" I asked only to receive a sigh for an answer. "I didn't stay up too late anyway-"
"When?"
"When what?"
"When do you go to sleep?" Meri-chan inquired, placing her hands on her hips.
'Playing the mom friend, are we now?' I thought to myself. 'At least I don't have to deal with the teasing wingman.'
"Around 2 in the morning," I mumbled.
"[Name]!"
"What did you even do during that time?" Kamida asked, saving me from Meri-chan's lecture.
"I just watched the twins' episodes from Juuni Taisen." I noticed Meri-chan was about to go on again so I added, "Hey, at least I didn't watch the entire series."
"That's not the point," Meri-chan stated. I just shrugged in response.
"You really love those two, don't you," Kamida asked me.
"Yup."
I lost track of how many times I rewatched their episodes long ago. While rewatching the entire Anime is great, I didn't have the patience to go through six other episodes before seeing my favourite twins. I then just kept replaying the twins' episodes, eventually losing track of how many times I did. It's just that every time I watch the two episodes, the more I felt I could understand them. It made them seem as if they were real, but the reality is that they're not and I have to remember that. That doesn't stop my dreams though, speaking of my dreams...
"You know, I had an unusual dream last night," I told my friends. "It wasn't like the rest of my dreams that were strange and went all over the place. This dream it... it was of the Tatsumi Brothers but- but it was alternate ending with them." I left out the description of what happened because it'd spoil the Anime for Kamida, and I didn't want to do that.
"What do you mean by 'alternate ending'?" Meri-chan inquired, raising a brow.
"Like it was the ending of Juuni Taisen but different," I answered. "It just- it looked so real! It felt like I was actually watching the Anime until I woke up. You get what I'm saying?"
"Ummm, no," Meri-chan responded, sounding puzzled.
"Really?" I deadpanned.
"I get what you're saying," Kamida piped, pushing his glasses up for the Anime effect. My brow raised in question as to what his next words would be. "You're saying you're obsessed with the two to the point you dream of them!" He stated, pointing an index finger at me.
"Ack-! No!"
"Relax [n/n]," Kamida laughed. "I'm just messing with ya."
"Ha ha..." I let out before another yawn escapes.
"Man, you really are tired."
"I think the dream took my energy," I theorized, rubbing my eyes to stay open. Just as the words left my mouth, we all caught a glimpse of the approaching city bus. I don't know if it was just me but the thing seemed to be taking its sweet time to get to the bus stop.
"It's okay, [Name]. You can take a nap on the bus," Meri-chan told me as the bus came to a stop. "We'll wake you up when we're at the stop near the arcade."
"Alright."
Following my friends, I stepped onto the bus. It wasn't crowded, which made sense considering most people were still working at 2 in the afternoon. Kamida found a set of seats for all of us and sat down, Meri-chan sat next to him, then I plopped down in the seat next to her. Adjusting my position to try and get comfortable enough to fall asleep, I tilted my head to the side and let my eyes fall shut. Soon enough, I had drifted into sleep.

"Is that thing any good?" Nagayuki asked his younger brother, watching him eat the deceased, cooked lizard.
"Yeah, it's awesome!" Takeyasu's sarcasm dripped with venom as his teeth tried to tear the scaled arm. "What do you think?"
The elder twin just blankly stared at his brother. Silence filled the air around them, but the sound of the younger twin eating his dead pet prevented the silence from taking over the scene. That was until the echo of a knock on their door emitted into their ears.
In sync, they both turned their attention to the door wondering who'd come to the door at this hour aside from a delivery man, but it wouldn't make sense for it to be a delivery man. Neither of them had ordered anything. The two gave each other a glance of uncertainty before Nagayuki let out a sigh, pinching the tip of his nose.
"I'll answer it," he stated as he approached the front door.
"Alright." Takeyasu reached over and grabbed his weapon, pulling it close for easy access, just in case.
The feeling around them pulled the twins towards the edge as eerie vines grew in the room. Masking his expression, Nagayuki slowly twisted the knob and partially opened the door. He briefly eyes the person standing on the other side.
It was a man with a top hat, grey hair tied back into a ponytail, facial hair, and the structure of his face made him seem elderly. He wore a black long coat with a grey scarf and white gloves. By this alone, the elder Tatsumi brother was able to tell this man dressed to blend into the shadows and meant business. Something else emitted from the man, it seemed to be supernatural. If it had been a normal person answering the door, they would've brushed the feeling off as if it was nothing because they don't believe in it, but Nagayuki knew the supernatural existed because he was living proof. That said, he grew cautious, thinking carefully of his next actions.
"Can I help you?" Nagayuki asked the man with a stoic face.
"I do believe this is the household of the Tatsumi brothers, Nagayuki and Takeyasu, if my sources are correct," the man spoke with an unreadable smile.
"So what if it is?"
"My name is Duodecuple," the man introduced himself. "I am from the Juuni Taisen organization."
Nagayuki raised a brow, suspicious of this mysterious person. When the head of the dragon and snake household explained how the Juuni Taisen contacted you the instructions of how to get to the location, they sent a letter in a red envelope with gold wax as its seal, and it was delivered through the mail. Why was this man here?
"Are you?" Nagayuki questioned. "Do you have any proof to back up that claim of yours?"
"I figured you would say something like that," Duodecuple said, his gloved-hand reached into his coat and pulled out a red envelope with a golden seal, handing it to Nagayuki.
Taking it from the man, the elder Tsumita twin opened the letter and thoroughly read the message written. Sure enough, this was legit. Glancing back at the man, still with a hint of suspicion, Nagayuki folded the letter and placed it back in the envelope before handing it back to him.
"Alright, so why are you here exactly? Last time I checked, you don't escort the warriors to the Juuni Taisen."
"While that is indeed true, I am here on the behave of a wish someone made. A wish that you and your brother wouldn't partake in the Juuni Taisen."
Takeyasu, who was listening to the conversation nearby, swung the door open and fired his weapon at the man. In his mind, that statement is something said before another person is killed. Not necessarily a threat, but even so it wasn't something to take lightly. He wasn't taking the risk of his brother being killed.
Nagayuki hardly had any time to react before his brother started burning the person in front of them. Part of him wanted to scold his brother for acting impulsively, but gratitude is the feeling that stirred inside him. He became unsettled after what the man said, and if it wasn't for Takeyasu, there was a chance the walls would've been stained with blood. However, he should stop his brother before they burn down the apartment building, he doesn't want to have to move again.
"Alright, that's enough, Takeyasu," Nagayuki told his twin, putting a hand on the younger one's shoulder. As the final remains of ember faded away after Takeyasu had stopped, both twins saw that no evidence was left behind of the man. "You really got him good..." Nagayuki stated, almost in disbelief.
"I do believe it is considered rude to try to kill someone before they finish what they are saying." Duodecuple's voice lurked behind them. The two flinched and spun around to discover the man standing there with no trail of smoke or ash on him as if he never had made contact with the fire. "But since you are warriors, I suppose that is an exception."
"I'd like to see you try and avoid this!"
"Wait-" Nagayuki tried to stop his brother from making any haste moves but his brother slithered quickly and tried to attack the old man with physical combat.
From the way the man never flinched and stood his ground, Nagayuki knew something was up. Sure enough, when Takeyasu struck he phased right through. Surprised by this, Takeyasu barely had time to recover and stumbled to catch himself. Once he steadied himself, he looked back to the elder man with narrowed eyes, growling.
"Now, now, I don't mean to bring any harm," Duodecuple reassured the two, holding up one of his gloved hands to gesture he meant no harm. "I am just here to fulfill a wish..." he paused for a brief moment to lower his hand. "Three wishes actually."
"Huh?" Both Tatsumi brothers spoke in sync, confused. Why would there be three wishes that involved them?
"By your tone, I am sure you are confused. I do not blame you however, even if you remembered your own wish you still would not know where the third one came from."
The twins' eyes glanced at each other before going back to the man. If they had made their wish and Duodecuple was here to grant it then that means they were already in the Juuni Taisen and won. What didn't make sense was how did they both win? Did something change where they could both win? If that was the case, why was Duodecuple here before the Juuni Taisen even started? Then there was still the third wish that didn't fit in the picture.
"Since it is not possible for the two of you to avoid the Juuni Taisen while in this plane of existence, our organizers thought it would be best to move you to another. And since the organizers are generous, they thought to grant another wish that would benefit both you and the wisher."
Once again, the Tatsumi brothers shared a look. Both unsure if there was a catch, and both having a lot of questions running through their minds. This entire situation seemed to be too good to be true then again, it was the Juuni Taisen. From what the twins heard, they made anything possible, the power they have is unimaginable.  Still, better to find out now.
"Is there anything else we should know about?" Nagayuki inquired.
"You will be living with the wisher," Duodecuple informed them. "As I said, it is a win-win situation. You will be informed of the new plane and you will have a new place to stay, it makes things more convenient."
"Alright, so we get our wish granted and a new roommate." Takeyasu turned his gaze to his brother, a smirk on his face. "It doesn't seem all that bad."
"I am glad to hear that. That being said, you have seven hours to pack everything you need before you are escorted to your new home," Duodecuple told them, taking off his hat and bowing. His form began to pixelate away until the air was the only thing that remained where the mysterious hologram once stood.

"[Name], wake up," Meri-chan whispered, nudging me awake. "We're here."
"Huh? Oh, right," I mumbled before a yawn escaped my mouth as I rose to my feet.
Once the three of us had walked off the bus, I stretched my stiff limbs. Satisfaction filled me as the musical sound of my bones cracking played through my ears. I was on that bus for too long, but if that meant I got more sleep, I didn't mind. However, I still wished I had been sleeping, for one I still felt like I needed more rest, and two, I wanted to continue the dream I had. It felt real like the one I dreamt the night before, just as if I was watching Juuni Taisen. I found it rather strange that twice in a row I had a dream like that.
"Feeling more awake now, [n/n]?" Kamida asked me.
"Kinda," I answered honestly before I drew a smirk on my face. "Awake enough to be able to beat you at Street Fighter!" I told him, poking his arm then picked up my feet and dashed towards the building.
"Oh no, you don't!" Kamida shouted, sprinting after me.
"Hey, no fair! You guys got a head start!" Meri-chan complained, following behind, trying to keep up.
'Course, it didn't take long before Kamida was running ahead of me, he had the height advance. Kamida is taller than both me and Meri-chan, and I am taller than Meri-chan which leaves her as the shortest out of our trio. That said, it was the order in which we all arrived at the arcade's main doors. Laughter emerged from us as we stumble at the front entrance.
"You guys are so slow," Kamida jeered.
"Yeah, yeah." I waved it off with a hand before strolling over and opening the door. "After you."
"As the wingman, I insist you go first," he stated holding the door open.
"Fine." I stepped into the world of entertainment and scanned the dark place where black and neon lights hung from. Only a few kids were here today, which means more gameplay for us! "Alright!" I thought out loud.
"Hey [n/n]-chan," Meri-chan addressed me, catching my attention. "Let's play a round of air hockey."
"Yeah- we can do our match later Kamida," I told him, still wanting to do that duel.
"Cool, I'll just be playing Space Invaders over here," he said before walking away.
"Alright, Meri-chan." My hand fished out a dollar from my pocket and inserted it in the coin slot, activating the machine. Taking the puck from the goal and placing it on the table, I put on my game face. "First to ten wins."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Aw man," I groaned, seeing my Pac-man die for 4th time playing this multiplayer game.
"You're off your game today," Kamida commented as his eyes focus on the screen, trying not to get eaten by Meri-chan's red Pac-man.
"Gee, I wonder what makes you think that." I playfully rolled my eyes, chuckling as I saw Kamida's blue Pac-man get eaten.
"Dang it!"
"Haha!" Meri-chan cheered in victory, throwing her hands in the air.
I felt a smile form on my face seeing my friends act the way they did, but my mind couldn't help but focus on the dreams I had earlier. They were stuck bouncing around my loop of thoughts, perhaps that's why I was off my game. Who can blame me though? It's not like I get these dreams every day so the fact they happen was a puzzle itself, maybe if they happened more often I wouldn't be so distracted.
"Well darn, it's 5:10." Meri-chan's statement caused me to get off my train of thought.
"Shoot, I'm supposed to be home by 6," I told them.
"And I'm supposed to be cooking dinner tonight for me and my little brother," Kamida grumbled as he dug into his pocket and pulled out his phone.
"Should we leave now and catch the next bus?" Meri-chan asked, her eyes looking at us after her phone was put back in her pocket.
"Yeah, the next bus arrives in 15 minutes," Kamida informed us, checking the bus schedule.
"Let's get going then," I said leading the way out of the arcade. Stepping outside after being inside that dim-lit building burned my eyes. My hands shot up to block the setting sun as I let out a snake-like hiss, taking a few steps back.
"Hhhhh, why couldn't it be night when we left?" Meri-chan complained, getting the same effect.
"I don't know, I don't control time," Kamida replied to her squinting his eyes to try and adjust back to the normal lighting. "Come on guys, we don't have much time before the bus gets to the stop."
"Right," I nodded, setting my hands in my jacket pockets after my eyes were used to the lighting, following the others.
"You guys wanna do this again tomorrow?" Meri-chan asked, starting conversation as we strolled to the bus stop.
"I already have stuff going on tomorrow," I lied. It's not that I didn't want to spend time with them, I just didn't want to go outside until I have to go back to school.
"And I'm going to be at my grandparents for the next three days. That's why I said we should hang out today," Kamida explained.
"Oh, that's alright. We can always voice chat at night," Meri-chan optimized.
"Yeah." A yawn escaped from my mouth once again. 'Man, I really do need sleep.'
"[n/n], you should take a nap when you get home."
"I will, I will," I grumbled. 'After I take a shower.'
I probably won't remember to take a nap when I get home, cause with showering and then dinner practically ready when I'm finished, the thought will be lost in my head. Not to mention my dreams are what have been occupying my mind. Usually, they don't, but I believe I'm still grasping onto them since I don't want them to slip away.
'What do the dreams mean?' It appeared too real to be just a normal dream but to call it a vision would absurd. Visions are stuff that happened, will happen, or a sort of warning, at least that's how it is in movies. The closest thing I ever get to a vision is the random flashes of deja vu I receive. Perhaps I'm overthinking this, maybe I'm just having proper dreams for once. Yeah, that's probably it, I-
"Whoa there, [n/n]!" Kamida grasped my hood to prevent me from walking any further.
"Huh?" I voiced, confused by his actions, I turned my head to him and gave him a "Why did you do that?" expression.
"We're at the bus stop, dummy," Meri-chan informed me.
"Oh, oops." I sweatdropped as I stood beside them.
"We're just in time too," Kamida pointed out as he watched the bus drive towards the stop.
One by one, we stepped onto the bus. I noticed the number of people taking this transportation has grown since it's at an hour where most people get off work, luckily there was still a three-seat row open for us. My legs took haste to snatch the spot before it could be in someone's possession, then I plopped down onto the window seat. By the time I had shifted into a comfortable yet civil sitting position, my friends had joined me. Kamida next to me and Meri-chan sitting on his other side.
Vines of silence grew around us so we didn't disturb anyone lurking in our surroundings. I wasn't phased by the lack of conversation, taking the opportunity to gaze at the modern buildings the bus drove by and dive further into the waters of my mind. Going through the catalogue of my memory, I searched for the recent dream I had and play it once I had found it. Something felt out of place in that dream, and it wasn't just because the scenario differed from the canon result of the flashback in episode 8 of Juuni Taisen. The fact Duodecuple stated he came to fulfill three wishes and not two didn't make sense.
If I connected the dots correctly, the first two wishes were Nagayuki and Takeyasu's wish to not partake in the Juuni Taisen, but then where did the third wish come from? Why would there be a third wish? Did I miss something in my first dream? Is it possible that if I slept a bit longer this morning I would've found out who made the third wish?
Multiple questions danced in my mind but they couldn't find any answers for them to waltz around with. After all, they were left in the mystic unknown, the only way they could return to the known land and find answers is if I returned to the dream realm, but there's no guarantee that it'll give me what I'm looking for. I highly doubt I'd be able to get another dream of the Tatsumi brothers again, my dreams have been generous enough to grant me two normal dreams in a row, I don't think they're going to give me a third. Still, it would be nice-
"[n/n], we're at our stop," Kamida informed me while waving a hand in front of my face.
"Uh-right... right," I responded and arose to my feet, following them out of the bus. Once outside, I brushed myself off, watching the bus drive out of view. Turning my attention to my friends, my hands set themselves in my jacket pockets. "So I guess I'll see you guys at school."
"{Yup|Yeah}," they answered at the same time.
"Alright, see ya then guys." I waved, beginning to stroll backwards in the direction of my house.
"Bye!"  Meri-chan exclaimed, waving.
"See ya." Kamida gave a small wave before turning and heading home.
I faced forward once we had disappeared in our path home, eyeing the slim light that emerged from the sun that is ready to be engulfed by the black night. My hand dug into my pocket and pulled out my phone, I needed to text my mom I was almost home. Turning on the device, I noticed I had two text messages, one from my mom and the other from my brother. I tapped on the notification and bypassed the lock screen to read the message my bro sent me.
"Hey, I'm going to a hangout at my friend's house.
Won't be back till morning"
"Looks like he made plans of his own," I thought out loud. "Guess that means no Code Geass tonight, but that also means I can rewatch Juuni Taisen." Drawing a smirk on my face, I chuckled before sending a response to my brother.
"Aight, cya tomorrow bro"
I waited for the message to load and confirm it was sent before tapping onto the text my mom sent.
"Just wanted to let you know your brother
is going over to his friend's place."
"Good to know."
"I'm almost home"
I turned off my phone once I had replied to her message, storing the device in my pocket. Mom always made sure to inform us whenever something came up, which I am grateful for. It helped me remember and keep track of things, they say "two heads are better than one" for a reason.
"Two heads..." I chuckled to myself when the Tsumita twins popped into my head once more. "Two heads that's been stuck in my mind all day."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I sat down in my office chair once I had finished drying my hair, dressed in a simple t-shirt and cargo pants. Opening my laptop I hopped onto docs and clicked the option open a new document. It had been a while since I had written anything, my search for inspiration had been harder than trying to find water in a desert, but with the two dreams I had, I thought I could use it for the idea of a plot. Fidgeting with my bracelet, I tried to construct a starter for the story in my mind, but I found myself unable to find my way around writer's block.
Glancing down at the accessory hugging my wrist as if I asked for ideas, I didn't have any other options since no one was here beside me. I would call or text Meri-chan or Kamida but I knew I'd be heading down soon for dinner. I found no point in inquiring if they could talk if I had to disappear. Funny enough, the bracelet only reminded me of the Tatsumi brothers. I laughed to myself, wondering what the twins would say if they were here, I found the idea amusing. I became tempted to tear the material on my wrist to make my greatest wish a reality, to see if they could become real once I did, but common sense popped my fantasy bubble. This wasn't some Anime where a game master could grant my wish, such fictional desires weren't possible for me to achieve, but I wish it was.
Something in my gut kicked me, flying my head out of that sad mindset I didn't know I fell into. My eyes went back to the blank doc I had open on my laptop. I felt a spark begin to flicker, attempting to get the fire of creativity going. My hands hovered over the keys, words on the tip of my fingers-
"[Name], dinner is ready," mom told me on the other side of my closed door she knocked on.
"Dah!" Frustrated, my arms flew up and mimicked the action of flipping a table before they slammed down on the edge of my desk. "Just when I had something..." I groaned and hung my head back. My mood shifted quickly, realizing some brain food would be good. "Coming mom."
As I arose from my chair, my bracelet seemed off, but when I checked it, everything appeared to be fine. I shrugged off my instinct, believing I was imagining things.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A yawn escaped my mouth after I heard the door to mom's room close, she went to bed since she had to work early. I was just chilling on the couch, my feet reclined up and any plans of writing had gone out the window once I had become one with the couch. I had the house somewhat to myself, considering my mom was now upstairs sleeping I couldn't do much.
I don't do things too exciting anyway, most times I just continued writing, or watch something on the tv which is what I'm doing now. Other times if my friends are available, I'd call them up and we'd discuss the fictional world. Then there was the rare occasion where I'd put on music and dance or vibe. It's relaxing me time.
Currently, Juuni Taisen played on the widescreen tv, already on the 11th episode. I don't know why, but it felt strange to watch it. I've seen these courses of events multiple times, each time understanding it more, why now do I receive this feeling? Perhaps the reason had to do with the dreams I had previously, with them appearing so real I guess coming back to what actually happened felt off to me. At least that was my thought process as I let out another yawn.
The 11th episode now halfway through and my eyes had begun to droop, feeling drowsy like Nezumi. The tv slowly turned into background noise when my tired mind began to pull me into the dream realm, my arms going limp to my sides as my eyes closed. The last audible thing I heard was Nezumi mentioning his 100 paths.
"Too bad my lizard died, I think he would've liked meeting a new face," Takeyasu remarked gazing at the empty reptile tank sitting on his shelf, taking a break from packing his duffle bags.
This all seemed surreal for Takeyasu, for months he was on edge and trying to distance himself from his brother so when they were in the Taisen it wouldn't be as painful to see him die, at least that was his thought process. It probably wouldn't have worked anyway, not when Nagayuki started to take the big brother role more seriously ever since they both found out one of them was going to die in the Juuni Taisen if the other were to win. Then this wish thing came along and now they're packing for their new life, it was a miracle this was happening. Part of Takeyasu imagined this is some cruel dream that he's in and reality is about to wake him up to see those red letters for him and his brother. He sure wished it wasn't his mind playing tricks on him.
"Hey, are you done packing?" Nagayuki questioned checking in, changed into his signature blue outfit.
"Almost, just gotta stash the rest of the money in there," the younger Tatsumi brother answered, going back to his task. "Do you think we can bring Hitokage and Yuki-onna?"
"I don't think that's the best idea, we don't know who our new roommate is going to be and what exactly they'll be okay with," Nagayuki stated, his hand grasping his chin as he began thinking out loud. "Normal people would probably freak out upon seeing two guys with a flamethrower and an icethrower. Still, if we have something to do with the third wish they must know who we are."
"Heh, I was just going to bring Hitokage anyway, regardless of your answer. You never know if we may need them."
Nagayuki rolled his eyes, knowing his brother would do something like that. His little bro had a point, however. They might need their weapons in this new place they're going, it'd probably give more use than the currency they were bringing with them. Both were unaware of where they were heading. Walking over, he looked inside one of Takeyasu's bags, small red rectangle boxes caught his eye and he picked one up.
"Really? You're taking your poker cards?"
"You say that like it's a question."
"Do you really need all of them?"
"Yeah, they're collector." Takeyasu stated his reason like it was obvious. The snake then cracked a smile. "At least I can reuse them unlike the bags of snacks you packed."
"Shut up." A faint blush appeared on Nagayuki's albino cheeks. "The flavours might not be available where we go, it's not like I'm going to eat them all in one go."
The little brother playfully snickered until the brief moment died down. A gentle silence sat between them, the only thing heard was Takeyasu stuffing items into the duffle bag. The elder Tatsumi brother glanced outside the room, considering if he should go check to see he had everything he needed and wasn't forgetting anything, but his bro caught his attention before he could decide.
"Hey..." Takeyasu started with a monotone, the mood in the room becoming heavy. That was a rare thing to happen among them, so he had his elder twin's full attention. "Did you ever think this would happen; Us not having to be apart of the Juuni Taisen?"
"I'm going to be honest with you, Takeyasu."
That was a phrase the younger Tsumita twin hadn't heard in a long time.
"I thought the Juuni Taisen was what our whole lives were leading up to, but I also thought the day would never come," Nagayuki spoke truthfully, his eyes gazed down at the floor. "I... just can't believe that it's not actually going to come, and how it never will..."
It grew quiet, the reality of what was happening finally settling in their minds. The reality neither of them was going to die. The reality neither of them had to kill the other. It was gone, the dark road was gone. They were free.
A laugh broke the silence, Nagayuki glance at his brother who had made the joyful sound.
"We don't have to play those bastards' game!" Takeyasu exclaimed, tackling his bro into a hug.
"Oof-" Nagayuki stumbled, not expecting the sudden embrace, but when he steadied himself he wrapped his arms around his baby brother. The burden of death has been lifted from their shoulders and they never felt more relieved. Tears of joy threatened to fall as the two hugged, knowing they wouldn't lose the other.
Before either could cry, an outsider cleared their throat. The moment now passed, the twins pulled away from the sibling hug to see Duodecuple there holding his hands behind his back.
"Are you both ready?" the man asked.
"Yeah, let me just get my bags," Nagayuki responded, moving past the elder man to get to his room.
Entering, the dragon went straight to retrieve the two duffle bags he packed. However, he ceased in his tracks when he turned to exit, spying the icethrower from the corner of his eye. He had originally planned to leave it, thinking it wasn't needed in his new life and unsure how their new roommate would feel about it, but since his little bro was taking his flamethrower what could it hurt to bring his weapon along?
"Besides, I don't I could get something like you out there, Yuki-onna," Nagayuki said, a smirk plastered on his face as he picked up the icethrower and put it on his back. He then grabbed his bags and left his now old room. Joining his brother's side in the main room, both face the mysterious man, holding their belongings.
"I hope you both are aware you are not heading to any warzones," Duodecuple told them, seeing how both Tatsumi brothers were carrying their weapons with them.
"Yeah, we know," Nagayuki stated blankly.
"But there's no way we're leaving these," Takeyasu added with a smug expression.
"I see." Duodecuple nodded, grabbing the rim of his top hat.
"So where are heading?" the elder Tatsumi brother asked.
"And how are we getting-"
Before the younger Tsumita twin could finish his question, Duodecuple had taken off his hat to bow, while doing so the brothers faded out of their reality.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
"No!" I cried, reaching out to the two, only to face the actual screen in front of me. "Oh... it was just another dream," I muttered to myself, grasping my forehead with my right hand.
I'm surprised I actually was granted a third dream of the Tatsumi brothers. I expected my brain not to be so generous, not that I'm complaining, I'm grateful for it. I wished I knew what happened to them though, maybe I'll find out in the next dream. I could get used to having them on my mind as I sleep.
Returning to the reality before me, I saw the episode had finished a while ago. My hand went to pick up the phone that laid on the couch beside me to check the time, but when I did I noticed my bracelet had broken beyond repair. I quickly sat up, picking up the remains of the lime bracelet and the few beads that were once on it.
"Shit, how'd it break?" I questioned, examing the pieces. "It was fine an hour ago, wasn't it?" Shaking my head, I knew it had to throw it in the trash, it was useless now.
I reclined my spot on the couch back down and stuffed my phone in my pocket. Holding the bits of my broken bracelet, I strolled over to the trashcan in the kitchen and dropped them in there. I felt disappointed, I actually enjoyed wearing that bracelet. Not only was it a gift from one of my best friends but it was something that reminded me of the Tatsumi brothers.
"Oh well, objects can't last forever," I mumbled to myself, recalling the day our Wii console stopped reading discs, on New Year's Day too no less.
Catching a glimpse of the time set on the oven, I figured I should head upstairs to my room. If I stayed downstairs for too long and went up late in the night, I'd give mom broken sleep. Probably best I'd head there now anyway if I wanted to get any writing done.
Going up the steps silently so I wouldn't disturb mom, headed to the next floor. My mind was in a whirlwind of different thoughts, but they were put to a pause when I heard voices. At first, I concluded it was just mom talking in her sleep again, however, I crossed it off since they sounded male. My next assumption was my brother but that wouldn't make sense since he wasn't home. Before the scary sensation of the situation settled into my mindset, I had reached the floor and the semi-audio voices sounded familiar to me. With that in mind, I crept down the hallway towards the sound and I realized it was coming from my room.
'Why would it be my room of all places?' I questioned in my head. 'I don't have anything worth stealing!' I turned around to go and find something to use to defend myself but I never took another step because that's when their sentences became audible.
"Too bad we didn't have more time to pack, I would've liked to bring my desktop set up with me."
'No way...' I thought to myself, slowly twisting my head towards my door with wide eyes.
"Don't sweat it, bro. You got the USB, that's all that matters."
'No fucking way!'
I didn't even realize I moved down the hall until my hand felt the cool metal of the doorknob that opened the door to my room. My brain hardly processing my actions, I twisted the handle and pushed open the door. The sight before me I could barely believe.
There standing in my room, in their full warrior gear, were the Tatsumi brothers.
In the moment of me just staring at their backs, I forgot how to fucking breathe. Then Takeyasu was the first to turn to me.
"Hey bro, I think our roommate is here," he told his brother, his signature smirk on his face.
"Huh?" Nagayuki turning attention to me, his icy gaze settling on my skin. "I think you're right."
The expression of the younger twin changed to a semi-worried one. "Hey, are you okay?-"
I wasn't able to hear the rest of his words because all the weight that once was in my head disappeared. I saw my surroundings grow taller and tilt horizontally, but then I felt something solid collide with my back and my vision dissolved to black. I realized that I fainted from disbelief.
I mean, this couldn't have been real right? I was sleeping only moments ago and I woke up to this? No, no, this couldn't be real. I'm probably just dreaming, right? Yeah, that's what I'm doing, dreaming. I'm just dreaming. I'll wake up on the couch and see that it was only a dream.
Numb To The Feeling {Dabi & Touya Todoroki}
WARNING: THIS IS REALLY DARK STORY! IT INCLUDES MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES, DRUG ADDICTION, SELF- HARM!
He was such a loser. Just like everyone says, he was useless. Even his own body couldn't stand his power. He just needed everything to stop. He looked at the medicines on his hand. He needed them, he had to do it. In the end, at least he could find a little peace. His only wish was just a little bit of peace, he would take care of everything else later. Though he had nothing to care about. He looked at where he lives now. He was living in the worst part of the city, he was a criminal, of course, he couldn't live in the city center. Maybe he wasn't living in the best place but at least he had a place to stay. He definitely wasn't living in a great place. He burst out a wild laugh loud, not even close to the word great in a long time.
The apartment which he had been living in consisted of only a bedroom, and a bathroom and that was enough for him. If he wasn't on a mission for the League, he would stay in the flat all day. He couldn't pull off some stupid acts them every day. Sometimes they got annoyed him and he needed somewhere to be alone. Everything he did, the places where he stayed, what he did to live was terrible, just like himself. He didn't deny this, he couldn't. Someone must be incompetent, failure. After all, not everyone could be a masterpiece, right?
He drank the medicines and lay on the bed. He waited a little bit for the effect. He wasn't in a mood to deal with'em thus he turned off his phone. Three to four hours of sleep was all he needed right now. He closed his eyes and hoped no one would bother him.
It was a windy and thunderstorm night. Just like every other kid, he was scared. Of course, he was scared, he was only seven! Two years had passed after his quirk was released, that was an awful year in his life. That wasn't fair! It was supposed to be the greatest year. He remembered it as if it was yesterday when his quick came up, his father had shown him value for the first time. Before that, all Touya knew was that his father was a pro hero ranked 2 and his father was always busy. But Touya had understood this.
Heroes always busy with villains, that is the purpose of them and he was proud of his father to catch the villains. He had what a strong father! He thought he loved him even if he couldn't spending time with him. Just his work tired, his mother always said that. Along five years he had always spent time with his mother, she was kind. When his quirk released he was watching tv with his mother and his sister Fuyumi. At those times Fuyumi was just a 2 year - old baby and his mother was pregnant with his little brother Natsuo. Touya was going to be a big brother again. He was happy, he was wondering what his baby brother would be like. Would he look like his mother, like Fuyumi, or would he look like his father, like Touya? He was going to learn two months later.
Fuyumi has her mother's warm eyes with smiling gray inside, her hair was just as well as gray in line with it, but between two or three strands of hair was red. Touya was just like his father. They shared the same turquoise eyes colour. The only difference was his father's eyes always filled with rage. Touya's eyes were cheerful and full of sparkles. Also the shape of his hair and colour of eyes just like his father's. Even if his father's eyes always filled with rage, he would never use to against Touya. He usually saw him when he was just coming home or when they were making a lot of noise and he was yelling at them. He would never join them in mealtimes. Whatever Touya did he never accept that. He always said that he was so busy for this. He went to his room and ate there. Sometimes Touya would hate his father's job he wished his father had spent more time with them.
One day he said that his mother had given him warm smile and she said that a lot of people had needed his father. His father had saved lives, that was an important job but he cared for him, not just him he cared for all of them. Even if he couldn't with them, he would always within his heart. After his mother said this he was so embarrassed for his selfishness. He was so jealous! But his mother fondle Touya's head and said it was okay. That was the only thing he believed madly but that was a first lie his mother told him.
He loved his siblings, he used to think they're a perfect family. Just like every other kid Touya was waiting for his quirk to appear. He was five which means it would appear anytime soon. He had always loved his mother's quirk, she always used her quirk to relieve him. He loved the refreshing coolness of the ice but he also loved fierce fires of his father. He was sure whatever his quirk was it would be amazing. How come he wouldn't have amazing quirk with such perfect genes. That was the wrongest thought in his life, fire and ice was the terrible duo. He would realize that soon.
They were talking about new heroes on the television when he grew up Touya would be like them. He was going to work with his father side to side and they were going to catch the bad guys. His father was going to say that he was proud of him. Yes, he used to believe this like a fool. He was looking at tv and his hands, he suddenly felt a weird prickle on his hands. A massive blue fire burst out of his hands, he was shock but also happy. Now he had a quirk and it was just like his father's. He started to jump in the living room saying he has a quirk.
His mother gave him a warm smile. Even though she didn't understand what was happening, his sister was staring at the fires and then she started to giggle. That day was Sunday which means his father was at home. He ran out of the living room. Normally their mother would never let them interfere with their father's business but this was one of the biggest moments in a child's life. She didn't say anything and followed Touya slowly. Touya hurried upstairs to his father's room and knocked on the door.
When he entered the room, his father looked down on. He said that he was busy and he asked why had I bothered him. Touya tried to use his quirk and blue flames appeared inside his hands. The first time, Endeavor changed his facial expression. Touya had never seen his father like that. Touya thought that he was happy. He got up from the chair and approached to Touya. His father was tall and big molded. Whenever he looked a long time, Touya was scared meaninglessly but Endeavor fondled Touya's head just like Rei did.
"Your flames are stronger than mine! Touya that is great! You will be my masterpiece."
His father had praised him for the first time in his life, while Touya smiled unaware that this would be his first and last. Endeavor told him they would be together all day tomorrow, training him on his quirk. Touya came out running to give the news to his mother if it was future Touya he would have hit himself for his stupidity at the time and tell himself to come to his senses. However he wasn't Dabi at those times, he was the joyful kid whose only concern was to get his father's attention.
He had no idea how his father's training would be but it was way worse than he thought. His father kept pushing him, told him that he was not a little child anymore since he was already five. He told Touya to rise and stand tall. He had to be strong enough to surpass All Might, he had to stop acting so miserable. Not wanting to let his father down, Touya had tried too hard but there was a big problem. His fire was too hot, he regretted that he had thought it was great at first. When he used too much of his power, he burned his own body and left traces.
At first, his father thought this was because of Touya's lack of attention, he wasn't focusing enough and that was ending up with burning himself. Touya had been training for a few months now, he was able to control his fires. If the fight hadn't lasted too long he could have overcome it with ease but when he tried to force himself to use his flames longer, The truth was always the same: frustration. His body was suddenly warming up too much and burning his arms. His father was a very tough teacher, he never tolerated mistakes. Touya was naive enough to think that his father was only doing this for his sake because he couldn't think of any other explanation. His father was already training his power so he would become a hero in the future. The truth is, his father only cared about being the strongest and wanted an heir to surpass All Might. Fuyumi was still just a baby and had at least two years for her quirk to occur.
Touya wasn't exactly what Endeavor wanted, he wanted an heir who could control both ice and fire, but if that didn’t happen Touya was still a good option. His fire was definitely stronger than Endeavor, even though he had a child who can control both ice and fire, Touya's fire was so strong that it was worthy of attention. Even if he wasn't the strongest he could still be worthy and Endeavor was highly aware of that. Seeing Touya couldn't control his fires for long disappointed him. He was almost perfect, almost...
Touya was tired every day. After training with his father he would not have the energy to do anything and he would have a lot of wounds. Also even though his quirk didn't burn him, it was too hot and effects maintained after then the training. Those times he was very lucky to have his mother. His mother used to clean all wounds and bandage. He used to stick a cute band-aid for small wounds. He was not spending as much time with his mother as before. The only time he saw her when his mother healed his wounds and Touya would always fall asleep in the event of he was tired. His mother would stay next to him until he slept and she used her quirk for reduced temperature in Touya's body. Touya loved the cool feeling of ice, and when his body temperature returned a little more to normal, he would immediately fall asleep with tiredness.
He was the big brother he could take care of himself, his little brother needed their mother more. The only thing he was unhappy about was that he couldn't spend time with Fuyumi anymore, Touya would start training with his father early in the morning and continue till late hours. Fuyumi would be asleep in the mornings and go to sleep before his training ends. He had only seen his younger brother Natsuo a few times, Natsuo was constantly asleep.
There were a lot of times he wished he would wake up and play with him. Natsuo was the one who looked the most like their mother with his grey hair and eyes. Touya was a skinny kid, no matter how much he ate, he couldn’t get rid of it. It could be said that Natsuo had their father's size, already. Touya was thinking Natsuo would be taller than him in three to four years. He couldn't help but be a little jealous since he was the oldest.
His father's training was becoming more and more brutal as months passed, his wounds were now staying for days and the new ones were added before he could heal. Bruise and burn marks were now part of his arm. Two years later, after Fuyumi's quirk was manifested, everything became worse than it was before. Fuyumi had an ice quirk just like their mother. Although Fuyumi was quite happy with this, their father was disappointed. Touya was still in the first place but noticing that the fire was constantly damaging Touya's body, he suspected this was not because of his incapability.
One day his father did something that he had never done before. He took him to a hospital which was about quirk. Touya was scared, he didn't want to be a disappointment. He would proud his father and he would become a pro hero. The doctor did a lot of tests on him and he said that he was too skinny, just like everyone said. The doctor said he was probably like that because he used his flames by forcing his body. Touya knew that. Also, he learnt scary truth that day, his body couldn't stand his fire.
Normally, the bodies of people who had the fire and of similar quirks had more tolerance to the heat. This would prevent their warming up quickly and provide them to use quirk for a long time but Touya's body withstood more suitable of ice, he could stand just normal temperatures. That was a terrible thing for those who had fire quirks. That was sucks that his body couldn't have stood his own power. Actually, Touya had ice and fire pieces inside of him but that wasn't what his father wanted. His father wanted a child who had fire and ice quirk, not a miserable boy who even couldn't stand his own flames.
The doctor said that the quirk mismatch is normal for children with opposing powers, and that if he tries too hard, he can burn himself or even kill himself if he overdoes it. Even he exceeded, he could do enough damaged to kill himself. If he had only normal firepower he would still not be able to use much of his power, but at least he wouldn't burn himself in ten minutes.  After what the doctor said, he could never forget the way his father looked at him, he was a disappointment. He had no value in his eyes anymore, he would never be able to use his flames as well as his father's wanted.  When this happened he was only seven years old.
Now his father was humiliatimg him more in training, constantly angry with himself for thinking that he might be a masterpiece that was nothing but failure. His father was angry himself to think that Touya could have been a masterpiece. His father had decided that he was not worth his time anymore, and the never-ending daily training was ended all of sudden. He was only being trained three days a week and sometimes fainted from exhaustion. Because he was not good enough, his father was always angry, making violent attacks.  At the very least, he was telling him to control his power without harming himself, not to bring shame to this family.
Touya felt that he was drowning in this pressure, stress. He was increasingly afraid of his father, and he used to be, but as long as he didn't annoy him, there was no reason to be the cause of his anger. Touya had no fault, he had not chosen this power himself. While his strength should have gotten better, it was just doing more damage to himself. Touya was almost always angry. He was always angry with everyone at everything. Fear would cause anger, anger to hate, and hate to disappear ...
Dabi woke up in sweat, the damn hour is gone. Shigaraki was definitely going to kick his ass, this was not the first time he was late. He had lost his perception of time as usual, he looked at his phone to see the clock. How stupid he was, he had turned off his phone himself.  He went to wash his face while waiting for his phone to be turned on, he was awful. He was not very surprised, it was always like this. He remembered that Shigaraki was talking about a mission, and he would  turn him into dust if he was a little late. He sighed, he had to deal with his staples later. He got out of his apartment and started to walk towards the meeting place.
Walking with the boys, you found yourself slowing down and checking your phone, the time flickering as you found yourself staring at the time. Your eye's widened at the time, hardly noticing as Izuku, Shouto, and Katsuki stopping in front of you, confused at your delay. "Shit. It's late," you gasped, stuffing your phone back into the pocket of your thigh high boots.
"What's going on?" Izuku asked, walking closer in slight worry.
Katsuki crosses his arms, having taken off his gauntlets, "Hm, What're you slowing us down for?" Although you knew he meant it in good nature.
You look up at him and glance between the other two, before smiling quickly, "Oh, it's nothing," you waved it off that it wasn't serious. "I told Dad that I'd meet him before the party. And I haven't seen Uncle David yet, either," you perked up before looking at Izuku once more, "Oh, wait you met him haven't you, Zuku? Uncle David, I mean. Dad and him have been friends forever!"
Izuku nodded, his fists in the air, "Yeah! He's amazing, I never knew you knew David Shield!"
You laughed, "I knew you'd like to meet him." You smiled, before it faded slightly, "But, now I've gotta run. You guys will be at the Expo Reception tonight, right?" You questioned.
"Only because you're going. Although I'd rather not listen to a bunch of old guys I don't even know give a boring speech," Bakugo admitted, frowning with a light blush in his cheeks as he leaned his head back, his hands behind his head.
Izuku nodded.
Shouto nodded, "Yeah. Will you be meeting up with us?"
You brought a finger up to your chin, thoughtfully. "I have to be there with Dad for the reception, I'm supposed to be going with him. But, after that, I can always come up so we can go as a group, you guys are supposed to be my dates after all." You smiled at the last part.
"You damn right we are!" Katsuki boasted, "And don't you forget it, I don't wanna have to get you my self!"
Shouto sighed while Izuku flinched at the loud voice, "Do you have to be so loud?" The ice and fire user asked in slight annoyance.
"You wanna go Icyhot?!"
"I only asked a question, no need to get violent." Shouto closed his eyes bored, crossing his arm's as small explosions noisily left Katsuki's palms.
You sweatdropped. "Don't go at each other's throats while I'm gone, please," You looked at Katsuki accusingly, "Bakugo." He stiffened as you used his last name, huffing as he looks away.
"Whatever," he scoffs.
You rolled your eye's with a giggle, walking up to him, "Just meet me at the central tower, 6:30," you finished, pecking Katsuki on his lips, which calmed him slightly as he made eye contact with you.
"Sharp," you said, turning to the others.
Shouto was the next closest, he leaned down before you could tiptoe, kissing you gently, "We'll be there," he says, smiling as you pull away.
Going over to Izuku, you pulled at his costume collar, "You brought formal wear, right? I forgot to mention it before the flight," you rubbed the back of your neck guiltily. Izuku nodded quickly, smiling brightly.
"No, it's fine, I did. All might told me beforehand. Don't worry," he said and you sighed in relief, happy that your father remembered and reminded him.
"Great. I'll see you there." You brought your lips onto his, eyes closing and Izuku couldn't help himself from swooning like always.
Pulling away, you walked backwards, smiling at them all. "Well, see you guys there," you turned, searching for the research center that David would be. You urged your power to spread to your feet, "Love you!" You called, before bursting into the air, turning in mid air to wave before adding another boost and soaring with a giant leap towards the lead researchers facility. Izuku waved, yelling back over the winds that picked up, Shouto raising a hand with a soft smile, Katsuki watched as you went, hiding his own smirk.
Once you landed, you found yourself in front of the facility, running into it, greeting the receptionist as your name flickered over the doorway. She nodded towards you, recognizing you as All Might's Daughter with a gapping wave, "R-right this way, ms." She directed you down the hall. You smiled at her, nodding in understanding.
"Thank you," you said before running off towards the door.
You opened it, your name flashing over the door as well, although once you were inside, the door closing behind you, you could see he shocked looks of both David and your father. However, your father was in his weakened state, skinny and his bruised battle wound out to the world. Your eye's drifting down to the wound, your heart clenching sadly, your smile fading entirely.
Toshinori stared at his daughter, having almost bulked up once more, until seeing that you were the one who entered. He glanced down at his side, understanding the look on your usually vibrant face, "(y/n)...I, um," he sighed before shaking his head, "Don't worry about this, ok?" He tried to ease you, although he knew it didn't work.
You forced a smile, "It's ok, dad. Are you in any pain? Did you take your meds?" You questioned him, stepping forwards, taking his costume in your hand as you passed it by. You had developed a medication that would ease his pain, prolonging the time he could stay as All Might, now he had at least a few more hours a day.
You could still remember how you had felt during the fight between your father and All for One, it was horrifying, you couldn't do anything to help, being so young. And then you had heard how serious his wounds had been, and no matter how many surgeries or extensive operations, they couldn't do anything about his fading abilities due to his crippling body. That's why you had gone into U.A. to fight beside your father when the time came, you knew of the origin of One for All, how he was fated to go against All for One with each passing of his power torch. You knew Izuku would be next to face this burden, and you would fight beside him when the time came, and with your life you'd protect the heir of One for All even if it cost your life.
You pulled out a small case from your pocket, opening it while putting the costume in the crook of your arm, "Here," you offered him the small pill. It was small but powerful enough to make the effects apparent.
Toshinori smiled softly at his daughter, ruffling your hair with his right hand before taking the pill in his left, "What would I do without you?" He praised you.
"Probably forget, as usual," you laughed, leaning into your father's touch, before giving him the case to fit in the palm of his hand.
While you two laughed together, you heard someone clear their throat, you stopped and turned before smiling widely, "Uncle David!" You leaped up and gasped fondly at your Dad's closest friend.
The red headed man grinned at the sight of you, standing from his seat to envelope you in a hug, "(y/n), my, my, how you've grown! You've gotten so big!" He spun you around, making you laugh brightly.
"It's been forever, Uncle David. I'm so happy to see you!" You hugged him tightly, before pulling away with a grin. "I saw Melissa! She's so nice! I can't believe that's the girl that made my costume, you must be proud!" You boasted.
David nodded, beaming down at you. "Yes, I am, very much. But, I'm just as proud of you. I heard about the hero support you've developed and your powers have grown so much, I saw the sports festival, you were amazing!"
You blushed, "Thanks. I'm just trying to expand my horizon, ya know," you said, giggling.
David chuckled at you before nodding, "Well I can't say how much it means to me to see you, it's been too long, munch," he rubbed the top of your head before caressing the side of your face.
"Same here."
Later, your father bulks up, turning into the proud hero, All Might, he groan's slightly before hiding it as he waves his goodbye to his friend. "Alright then, we'll see you later...Looking forward to partying with you!" His voice becoming deeper as he turns into All Might.
"Same," David says, hugging you close before you go after your father as he opens the door. However, he frown's before calling out to you, making both you and All Might pause, "Hold on, (y/n), can I talk to you? It's about your blasters..." he lies, smiling nervously.
Your eye's widened before you look back at your father, "Can you wait for me at the hotel?"
He smiles at you, "Of course, daughter! I'll see you later, my friend!" He waves his goodbye as he goes out the door and leaves you to close it.
Once you enter, closing the door, your smile fades, "I know what you're gonna say...it's bad, isn't it?" You looked away, your hand over your heart, resting over the jewel connected to your costume. You had once took a hard hit from a villain, straight to the chest, it nearly killed you, having splintered your ribs and damaged the flow of your quirk which derived from your heart. Your quirk allowed you to absorb the energy around you, it flowed directly to your heart and filled you with life energy, so technically your body was just a vessel, this allowed you to materialize from one place to another, being two places at one time. You also could convert the energy to cosmic energy, creating blasts that enveloped your hands and legs to release powerful boosts. However, after that battle, you weren't able to have your power flow correctly, which resulted in your power bursting from your body from all angles, you couldn't control the direction and it always hurt to try.
"His power is depleting faster than I've ever seen! What's happened to him?" David asked you, worried for his friend, worried for the symbol of peace. "I'm worried for him. The symbol of peace...he's..." His fists balled up, he looked down in anger and sadness.
You looked up at him, remembering that he still didn't know about your father transferring One for All to Izuku. "The stress of his hero work, it's always had an effect on him. But, after that battle...his power has never been the same. And I can't stop it..." although you lied about the reason, you still felt tears well up knowing there really had been no way you could've helped your father's deterioration even before Izuku showed up into your lives. You had always felt as if you were responsible, if you had been stronger, you could've fought by his side. But, your father's still strong and now, you were strong enough to help without being a burden. "I know you're worried, Uncle Dave," you said to him, your uncle perked up, "But, a new age of heroes will rise...and father will never step down, not for anything. My family, we strive to protect the world, even if times are hard, we always find a way to preserve. So don't fret! For he is still, and forevermore, here!" You gave him a thumbs up, and despite the pain you've always felt, gave him the biggest smile you ever could.
David felt tears coming to his eye's, looking at his niece in a new light, that smile on your face, that confidence despite the pain in your eye's...he could see All Might in your light and he could see a new symbol of heroism rising with you. He nodded, giving giving a watery smile, "Of course, you're right!" He nods, almost feeling foolish for doubting the strongest hero in the world.
You nodded before feeling your phone buzz, a message, you took it from your thigh pocket and opened it, seeing a text from Iida. He had sent it in a group text to meet up at the location of the reception at 6:30. There was also a text from your father, tell telling you to meet him at the hotel to get ready for the party tonight. You put your phone back into your pocket before walking over to David, "I've gotta run, Uncle, see go at the party?" You hugged him once more. He embraced you wife just as much vigor if not more.
"Thank you, (y/n), you're becoming such a beautiful young woman," he said, smiling as he held you tighter and you beamed.
You waved him goodbye as you left out the door.
"Ready, darling?"
You turned, your hair flipping over your shoulder to give a better view of your face. You luckily had a hidden pouch around your thigh, high enough to not be seen fromcthe slits of your dress. You pocket your phone in the pouch, pulling the ruby brooch from Izuku off the counter as you smile at your father, walking over to him.
You pout at his costume before glancing down at your red dress, the V-neck dipping low enough to show off some cleavage and the tight red dress had two slits on both sides to show off your long legs. Your booted heels went up to your ankles and we're short enough for you to feel comfortable. "Why can you where your costume?" You asked him, alittle upset as you crossed your arm's.
The symbol of peace laughed proudly, "I am a pro hero after all, my dear. Do not worry, you look wonderful as usual!" He grin's widely before offering his arm to you, "Shall we?"
You glance down at his muscular arm before smiling and nodding, taking your father's arm. "Let's go have some fun tonight, ok?" You were happy that your father could finally relax for what seemed like forever.
All might nodded before lifting your hand in his, kissing the back of your hand gently, "Of course, darling. Let us go," he grinned, opening the door to the tower.
You looked around, seeing that Iida was the only one in the lobby, although he couldn't see you as you were in the elevator as he entered the lobby. You glanced down at you palm, still holding the brooch, you quickly pinned it at the end of your V-neck, where you'd usually have your costumes jewel, over your heart. "I see that young midoriya has given you his gift!" Your father said.
You look up at him, smiling, "Yes! It's beautiful!"
"Just like you, my darling," you beamed up at your father as he complimented you.
The elevator opened and you both stepped out, entering a hallway, there was a large doorway, opened to welcome the guests. You passed by a few pro's, they paused and gasped and a they found themselves looking and at All Might and his daughter, striding down to the room.
You both found Uncle David quickly, he smiled seeing the both of you, having grabbed a drink. He walked over, "Glad to see you both could make it!"
You, Dad, and David talk briefly before your eyes flicker to the time, the clock at the side strokes 6:30 and you glance at the doorway. You had promised you'd meet your boyfriends for the reception, "Hey Dad, you don't mind if I step out? I promised the boys I'd come up with them when they came." You asked him.
Your father nodded, "of course, darling," he answered.
You smiled at him before walking towards the door, David watched you before glancing at All Might, "Boys?" He smirked, "I didn't think you'd be ok with your daughter dating if ever. So, who's the lucky boy, huh?"
"Young Midoriya, Todoroki, and Bakugo!" All might stated proudly, although he lightly grimaced as he was still wary of you dating.
David raised a brow, gaping. "Did you say three? Wha--wow! Haha, I guess (y/n) is more popular with the boys then you'd have liked huh?" He laughed at his friends obvious reluctance of your dating life.
"It seems so."
David laughed, getting the hero a drink.
You made it to the elevator just as you heard the audience begin to clap, cheering for the number one hero to give a speech. You wouldn't want to leave Dad, being his number one supporter, instead you closed your eye's as the elevator opened and you felt a piece of your own energy splitting from you before you were literally split in two. You opened your eyes to see yourself staring back at you, your energized clone walked back to the room to watch the speech and you entered the elevator.
You could hear and feel anything your clone could so you listened as your father commented on you being two places at once and you giggled to yourself. You could hear him saying that David owed him for this speech before he went up to speak. You focused as the numbers rose to the lobby, you found it opening as your name flickers s cross the screen above you.
You step out, a smile growing on your face as you see your peers and two boyfriends standing there, all of them turning towards you as the elevator opens. "Guys! You're here!" You gasped, happily.
Immediately seeing you, Kaminari and Mineta had almost instant nosebleeds, "Such beauty, an angel! We're so blessed!" They exclaim nearly falling over as they oogle you shamelessly. "I think I've actually died, I can't take this beauty!"
Jirou sticks her earphone jacks into their ears, nearly knocking them out with the sudden loud noise, "at least try and be respectful!" She frown's before looking up at you, "wow, (y/n), you look so great!" You giggle in thanks, blushing before ochaco comes beside you as well as Momo, "Gosh, (y/n), you look hot!" Your face is even redder. Melissa took your arm, "Your dress is so cute, I love it!'' You shyly muttered a thank you. "When did you get those?" Momo pointed down at your chest teasingly, your face was beet red by then.
"Yoayarozu!" You cried, crossing your arm's.
"You look perfect, (y/n)!" You turned at the voice, blushing still, you smiled seeing Izuku in his red tux, similar to your father's although it was red. He was blushing heavily, unable to keep his eye's off of you, he didn't believe in falling in love all over again until now. You were so beautiful, he was was so lucky!
You moved your loose hair to the side, "Thanks Zuku. Your tux, I love it, red looks good on you," you said, walking over to him to place a chaste kiss on his cheek.
"Oh, well, thanks!" He chuckled, trying to keep his composure.
"You look stunning, (y/n). As always," you felt a hand around your waist, you turned with your ears burning. You grinned seeing Shouto in a white suit, a red tie around his neck.
"Shouto! Oh, thanks! Your suit is great, I'm glad you chose this, I love it!" You didn't know how much he loved you. You were so ravishing, he just wanted to press you up against the wall and take your lips right there. Your beauty always seemed to stun him, no matter what you were wearing, but you just looked so unbelievable in this dress.
You kissed him tenderly before turning towards Izuku, who smiled at you, his eyes trying to stay at your face. "Zuku, where's Katsuki?"
Iida was the one to answer you, "He and Kirishima haven't answered their phones. Knowing those two they're blowing off the party," he frowned.
You chuckled softly, "They probably just left their phones. I'm sure they're here somewhere."
Suddenly, your eye's went wide, freezing up as you heard heard a sudden loud noise, but it wasn't from around you, it was with your clone. It was saying something a bit a bomb report. You frowned and everyone instantly noticed, Izuku places places a hand on your back, "Love, what's going on? What's wrong?" Shouto rubs your arm, trying to take you back to this side, "(y/n)?"
You turned towards him, "I-I'm not sure. But...somethings wrong." As if on cue, the windows began to shut and metal barriers quickly began to cover each one, sealing off the building from the world outside. You all gaped in shock, confused at the sudden emergency precautions. You stepped away from Shouto before looking around as the doors locked down as well, the elevators shutting down and locking everyone out.
You pressed your hand to your temple, connecting yourself with your clone, your eyes clouding over as you began to see through your clones eyes. Your eye's going wide as you find yourself at gunpoint, at your father's side, he links eyes with you as he notices your change in expression. "Dad, what's going on?" You asked, you could feel the stares of your classmates as you seemed to be talking to noone, but you knew they were aware of your ability.
"We're being attacked, quickly go!" He warned you, before suddenly the villains around the area, quickly made their moves.
Here were a dozen or so with masks on, their hands held guns and pointed at all the civilians, "Do it!" The seemingly lead member said into his comm.
You paled before quickly beginning to demateralize your clone, not before you heard the holes in the ground opening to let out a glowing rope of restraints, immediately wrapping around you, tightly. You yelped, before growling angrily around the lead villain came up the stairs as you and your father tried to break free, he shot his gun. You both flinched, looking up in fear, you were relieved he hadn't shot anyone. "Don't move! If you take so much as a step, I'll kill everyone in this room!" He pointed his gun at me, making me glare at him. "Starting with her," he dared. That made your father go still.
"Villain," he shouted, before he was kicked down.
You gasped, before you felt him grab your by your restraints, smirking at you, licking his lips behind his mask. "I know you. Little might, all grown now," you glared at him before hissing at him until he shoved you backwards, pushing you to the ground.
However, the moment you made contact, your clone shattered and you heard him scream, "no!" Before your vision came back and you were in Shouto's arm's, Izuku and him looking down at you worried. You hadn't even heard them calling out to you over the crisis in the reception room.
You gasped before you sat up, you realized your body was still bound, the restraints had come to your real body. You looked down at them in surprise before you looked at your friends, "There's trouble at the party, Dad's down there. We need to get down there, try to find out what's going on." You flexed against against the restraints, pulling against them, the bonds breaking as you sat up, having been too far from their connection.
You rubbed your wrists as Shouto helped you up, before suddenly you felt a sharp pain in your arm and Izuku and and the others gasped. "(Y/n), you're hurt!" He exclaimed worriedly, you looked down and your arm was bleeding, it was a deep scrape. You then remembered the guy who was waving that gun around, threatening to shoot you, he must've shot you once you had begun to disappear. Frowning, you looked at Izuku as he ripe his suit and tore off a piece before wrapping in around your arm.
"Thanks. Now, Melissa, how do we get to the reception without using the elevator?" The girl perked up, looking up from the blood dripping from your fingers. She pointed over over to the emergency staircase, "There!"
Close Encounters of the Spiritual Kind
Tumblr media
Summary: Emma Nolan spent a lot of time alone, and that was fine by her. Because one is never truly alone. She should know. She can talk to dead people. What she didn’t expect was one of these spiritual encounters to hang around, taking her down a rabbit hole of missing women, revenge, and, least expected, love. Can she save the day and Killian Jones? Is there even another choice?
Read it from the beginning on AO3 and FFN!
A/N: This is it guys! This is the very end. I still can't believe it's over. I hope you guys liked it and I couldn't possibly thank you enough for reading and all of your amazing comments. Thank you also to @kmomof4 who has been invaluable during the whole process of writing this and just being an amazing support in general. And super huge thanks to the ever wonderful @courtorderedcake who created the beautiful artwork for this story. She deserves all the love. And away we go!
Epilogue
One year later
Killian Jones sat on his bunk and stared at the wall. The drab beige paint was peeling off the smooth concrete in several places, and Killian's mind began to imagine shapes in it, like one would imagine shapes while watching clouds. It had become a pastime for him, though he couldn't recall when it had begun. For the last year, his life had been reduced to a six foot by eight foot box, shared with another man called “Tiny”, though he was anything but. He didn't know where his cellmate was now, and he didn't care, his mind singularly focused. The slate gray polyester jumpsuit he wore felt stiff against the skin it touched, the thin white t-shirt underneath doing little to prevent the rubbing. He thought briefly about stripping it to the waist, but it wouldn't be much longer now.
The TV in the common area was tuned to a local news station, some of the older inmates having commandeered it for their recreation time, as they sat at a single table directly across from his cell. He couldn't see it but he could hear it, not that he was paying any attention. He scanned over the small space with sharp focus, ensuring that anything he had of value was tucked safely into the small box in front of him. Not that he had much. Just a few books, a couple of drawings and letters he'd received, a few plain, white shirts, nothing huge. The rest of them could fight over the remaining items he would leave behind for all he cared.
“And in other news out of Boston this morning, 62 year old Weaver Gold was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after a long and arduous trial,” the reporter on the TV proclaimed, causing Killian's ears to prick up. He turned his head slightly so he could better hear, but remained seated on the bunk. “Gold was charged with several counts of assault, kidnapping, murder, and human trafficking, among other violations. This story broke last year when former BPD Detective Emma Nolan headed an undercover investigation into the head of one of Boston's most dangerous criminal empires. More on this story at 11. Let's go to Jackie with sports. Jackie?”
Killian smirked. It was the least the bastard deserved after all the irreparable damage he'd done to countless lives. He looked around his cell, the cramped space, exposed toilet, bars lining the only exit, and for the first time, the sight made him smile. He couldn't think of a more fitting cage for a crocodile.
The year since Killian had been sentenced for “racketeering” (in reality, the cash laundering scheme he had used to keep his operation afloat was the only thing they could connect back to him) was served uneventfully, for which he was grateful. He kept his head down and stayed mostly to himself, making sure that nothing would delay his release. He had made a promise to go on the straight and narrow and he didn't intend to break it. The police were more than lenient with him considering his own criminal operation.
As part of a plea deal including delivering testimony on Gold, he had received thirty six months in a minimum security federal penitentiary, and Will had received thirty himself.  Jefferson had stayed true to his word and helped them get the best deal possible but with the way everything had gone south, prison time became inevitable. Will had been released after eight months with good behavior to serve out the rest of his sentence on parole, as far as he had heard. He was glad for it. Killian had just had a parole hearing of his own, but he wasn't expecting any such miracles.
Until about an hour ago when a guard had stopped by his cell and told him his parole had been approved. And now he waited. His head was filled with images of his last day of freedom. It had been one of the worst of his life. He had killed a man. Watched other men (and a woman) die. He'd been beaten, broken, tortured for hours. But the thing that stuck out to him the most was Emma's pale and lifeless form in his arms.
It had been Milah all over again. Maybe worse, for he couldn't recall a time his soul had physically ached until that moment, like it had known immediately that it was missing its other half. She'd saved him, not only from the bullet, but from himself. He hadn't expected to ever walk away from the dark criminal underbelly alive. But here he was. Maybe he was a survivor after all. He didn't intend to squander a single second Emma had given back to him.
“Jones,” a sharp, commanding voice barked from just behind the bars of his cell. He looked up to see two uniformed guards waiting for him, an older seasoned guard called Spinelli, whom he knew, and a rookie officer that had just started last week. Howard, he thought he recalled. “Cuff up. Time to go.” Killian stood and obediently slid his hand and stump through the slat in the bars, smirking at the look of exasperation on Spinelli's face.
“Problem?” he asked cheekily, his eyebrow quirking up his forehead, and the rookie had to stifle a chuckle in a less than convincing cough, earning him a glare from the older guard and a grin from Killian.
“Be right back,” Spinelli muttered and stomped off towards the pod exit, leaving the rookie and Killian observing one another in silence.
“So…” Killian extended the conversation to the young officer, leaning up against the bars.
“No talking, inmate,” he replied, underconfident authority in his voice.
“Come, now. Who doesn't bend the rules every now and again?” Killian grinned, his tongue nudging his canine tooth mirthfully.
“Is that how you ended up here? All the fun of bending the rules?”
“Touché, Howard,” Killian agreed.
“It's Hendricks.”
“My mistake, lad. Didn't see a nametag,” he said. The younger man flushed scarlet.
“I forgot it this morning,” he admitted.
“Ah. Bit of a rule bender yourself then, aye?” Killian said with a wink and Hendricks bristled. “Don't worry, I won't tell. You'll do alright here, lad. Don't let these bastards get in your head and you'll do just fine.”
“No talking, inmate. Back away from the bars,” snapped Spinelli, who had huffed his way back in front of his cell as Killian finished speaking. Killian rolled his eyes and backed himself towards the bunk again. “Open!” he called out to the command center. A loud buzz rang out and the bars clicked, Spinelli reaching out to hold them shut for the time being.
“Palms, er, forearms flat on the wall, inmate,” Hendricks commanded. Killian complied. This was the very last time he had to do this. Never again. He'd promised her.
After a moment, the bars slid open and Killian was being fitted with what was called “the sleeve”, a mesh wrap with metal buckles in the back that wrapped around his body and secured his stunted arm to his torso, rendering it immobile. He was dressed with a chain around the waist next, a handcuff around his good wrist and the other end secured to the chain. The chain connected to another that hung between his feet where ankle shackles were added and connected as well. Spinelli stepped back, giving him a once over with a nod and a grunt, satisfied with his level of restraint.
“There we are, all nice and subdued and ready to leave prison,” Killian quipped. A thrill shot through him as soon as the words “leave prison” had left his lips. The rookie suppressed another chuckle.
“Just walk, Jones,” Spinelli grumbled, seizing him by the arm and leading him from the cell. Hendricks followed with his box of personal effects.
As they walked down the corridors, men yelling, cheering and jeering at him, he couldn't help but feel… excited.
When he got here, he was fresh out of spending the first three months of his sentence in the hospital getting physical therapy on his shoulder, two weeks of which was spent with his fractured jaw wired shut. He’d been arrested before, but prison was an entirely different beast altogether. And yet it was nothing at all, compared to what he'd gone through with Weaver Gold.
The day he had shown up at the docks, he had been so sure it was the right move. He had gone to Smee's with Emma and obtained a gun that couldn't be traced back to either of them. The plan was to slip in and kill the man, consequences be damned for the rest. He never expected to make it out alive. He had been so close to making it happen when he made one wrong turn and ran smack into Malcolm and Perdu.
He had fought a hell of a fight against them, but the two men eventually overpowered him when Malcolm wrenched his shoulder from its socket. Once again, he had underestimated Gold's influence, by extension to his henchman. It was when he was presented to the man himself like a wrapped gift that he realized just how far he had actually underestimated him.
Gold had wasted no time in his fervor to make Killian suffer. He nearly rejoiced in it. As soon as he was sunk to his knees, Gold smiled, offering a quick ‘Hello, Jones’ and cracking him across the face with the gold handle of his cane. Hence the fractured jaw. The older man was stronger than his looks portrayed. From there on out, it was a series of blows with the cane and taunts with a gun, his gun usually. He wasn't sure how long it had gone on for.
Then Will was led through the door and his stomach twisted. If Will was there, Emma was no longer safe. He had held on to that last mangled little piece of hope that she was still locked up where he left her, even as Will took a similar beating to the one he had. Right up until Emma marched out from behind those crates and everything went to hell.
He clenched his jaw at the memory as the door buzzed to let him in to the discharge area. Spinelli left his side, taking the box and setting it on a dented metal table next to them, but Hendricks remained, and he opened a locker to retrieve a standard set of street clothes for Killian. Jeans, a gray sweatshirt, and a set of laceless athletic shoes were set on the metal table beside the box as Hendricks worked on getting him unbound.
“Strip,” Spinelli instructed as soon as he was free of his chains and the sleeve. Killian had never moved faster to take off his clothes in front of two men in his life. Hendricks set about gathering his discarded jumpsuit and underthings, shaking them out and inspecting them as Spinelli stepped back towards Killian, who stood, hand clasped over his stump before him, naked as the day he was born.
“Arms out, mouth open,” Spinelli ordered. Killian did so, reminding himself for the hundredth time this was the last time he would ever have to do this. Spinelli searched his mouth with a tongue depressor, eyes scanning over every inch of his body to make sure he didn't have anything hidden. As if anyone would sneak something out of prison, but he was sure stranger things had happened. “Squat and cough,” he instructed next. Killian set his jaw and did that, too. Spinelli nodded. “Get dressed.”
Killian did so and Hendricks walked around him, putting things away. Once he was dressed, he picked up the box with his meager belongings and waited. Spinelli scanned his ID card and the metal door opposite to the one they had entered through buzzed and opened with a loud clank. They reached another door at the end of a short hallway. When Spinelli opened it, daylight flooded in from beyond the floor to ceiling windows that lined the room.
People milled about on the other side of the glass, waiting for a visit or for someone to answer their questions. The door at the end of the glass lined hallway led directly outside. He walked between Hendricks and Spinelli and they waited for clearance at the end of the hall before he stepped out the door into the yard. The two guards escorted him to the fenceline and opened the gate.
“Well, gentlemen, I'd say it was a pleasure, but frankly, I hope I never see either of you again,” he said, only half joking. Hendricks did chuckle at that and even Spinelli offered him a begrudging smile.
“Best of luck, Jones,” the older guard said and Killian nodded in acknowledgement, his eyes already set forward and searching for his future.
Killian Jones took his first free steps in over a year out the front gate, simply taking a moment to breathe it all in.
The rumble of a familiar engine had his head turning in a second, just in time to see a small, yellow Volkswagen Bug pulling up to the curb. Sunshine colored hair and a flushed face popped out of the driver's side door and Killian couldn't have held back his grin if he’d tried.
Emma's brilliant green eyes set on him and she smiled.
“Somebody order a getaway car?” she asked, walking around the front of the car towards him. Killian didn't care who was watching. He dropped the box of things that didn't matter to the pavement and rushed forward to the only thing that did, scooping her up in his arms and sealing lips over hers in a kiss that took both of their breath away.
His arms looped around her waist and he lifted her, her head falling back and laughing as her hands found purchase on his shoulders. He spun them around, resting his forehead against hers, refusing to let her go, not that she was even trying to escape.
“Hi,” she murmured, reaching up to cup his cheek, her thumb stroking over his less than immaculately groomed beard.
“Hi,” he replied, nuzzling into her touch, still a little disbelieving that she was here, alive, in his arms.
Emma had coded twice in the ambulance once medics were able to get to her and three more times in surgery to repair the damage in her abdomen. The last time had been the closest call. The doctor had been ready to call time of death, but Emma's heart inexplicably started beating again all on its own. No one could explain it. They had called it a miracle.
It had been a long road to recovery for her as well, but if nothing else, Emma Nolan was a fighter. She had completed grueling amounts of physical therapy and mental health evaluations, but she had never wasted a single second with Killian. Phone calls, letters, visits every weekend (with accompanying one hour drive both ways), Emma never complained, and Killian wouldn't be where he was without her. In every way possible.
Emma was released from the police force shortly after the incident, before she had even come home from the hospital. They had cited “medical reasons”, for which her resumé was grateful, but she had broken so much procedure it wasn't like she hadn't seen it coming. The women she saved had been worth it. Will was worth it. Killian was worth it. She and Will had set out to found a nonprofit for missing people, a sizeable donation from one Ivy Belfrey getting them off the ground, and she was happier now than she had ever been.
“You can't park there!” a voice shouted at them and they both turned from their embrace to see a stern looking woman in uniform on a golf cart motioning to her car. Emma waved at her in understanding as Killian set her back on her feet.
“Ready to get out of here?” she asked.
“Aye, my love,” he replied with a grin and another quick kiss.
“It's just you and me now.”
“I wouldn't have it any other way, agrà.”
The two got in the car and drove away, the scent of sea salt and jasmine following them on the breeze.
And when she brought him home to meet Ruby, the force of nature that was her best friend may or may not have actually passed out seeing the man from Emma's sketchbook come to life. But that was a discussion for another day.
Tumblr media
“T-thank you…” He released a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding in when Todoroki extended his hand after a long silence. Sullivan had started to grow worrisome that it would be asked of him to keep that injury on his conscientious untreated. He’d never be able to do so–even if he had said he would only heal with their permission. So, he gave his gratitude first and foremost, a thank you and a shy dip of his head resembling a bow as he scooted. Gingerly, he grasped the charred hand, activating his quirk as quickly as he could to put the nerves to sleep. “You shouldn’t feel anything I’m doing. Please tell me if there is, um, any pain.”
He’d hate to know that there was an internal debate of the severity of his injuries, whether they warranted the attention of Sullivan’s care. It should never be a question. If you were in pain, you should seek help. There was never to be a measure of tolerable or intolerable. Pain was pain…no one should force themselves to deal with it. And most definitely not with the intention of self growth. But it wasn’t his battle to fight. At the very least, he was granted the opportunity to help in this way. He was grateful to be any sort of help.
“Ah. O-oh. No. I was not asked to help.” The question caught him off guard. His eyes had been fixated on closing skin, making sure the skin was growing correctly so as to not scar. Baby blues did flicker up with surprise for a millisecond though, lips parted with a bit of shock. Shoulders hunched, gaze fixating on his work. “I…chose to come. Y-you looked like you were in alot of pain. So I wanted to make sure you were okay. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to come off overbearing if I did.”
“But–but you’re all healed.” What a relief, too. No scars or marring to the skin. It was a brighter pink than the rest, fresh on a large amount of surface area since he had burned so much. “It will be tender and more prone to injury since it’s new skin. Um, please be careful. And you did well in your competition. Congratulations to your hard work, Todoroki…”
Shoto could have been someone which wasn't familiar with many emotions and didn't know how to act when socializing, but he could understand how someone else could have been feeling. The breath the other let out could tell him that there was some kind of relief. Adding that Walsh was thanking him instead being the other way around, he was able to make an assumption that the other had a good heart. Something really rare on their times. Something he had seen on a few people, and if he could tell who, it was his mother, his sister and Midoriya. Even in a hero-based society, there were very few which were having the soul for it. Not including himself to those of course. He hadn't been as selfless and caring as those. Even his own goal of being a hero could be described as selfish.
His expression softening, he didn't say anything at first. Letting the other use his Quirk on him. He had kept himself silent, not wanting him to lose focus. Not to cause any problem. He nodded. If there was any pain he'd warn him first. He had been staring at the burnt flesh which had started to close. His eyes were opened wide, staring in awe. He hadn't seen a Quirk like that. He hadn't seen something like this before. His visits to Recovery Girl were very few and in all of those, he was unconscious so he couldn't tell if her Quirk worked in a similar way. Once he was done, he looked at the new skin made. The feeling was different. Maybe more sensitive. But he wasn't feeling pain anymore. It was too easy. Not painful at all. Except the exhaustion he was already feeling, there weren't any side effects he noticed for now. He couldn't believe it. To get rid of such a burn like that.
“I should be thanking you.” he said, once he had finally been able to realize it. He saw he was in a lot of pain and he had been worried. If this wasn't an act, then this person shouldn't normally have survived in a world like their own. “You shouldn't have been apologizing for anything. Your kindness is something rare to see.” he admitted. Moving his fingers and again checking how his hand was feeling. “Thank you.” he sighed. Words wouldn't describe his gratitude though.
Tumblr media
He decided to stand, a moment after. He was feeling a lot better. All he needed now, was a full meal and a good sleep. The point was that he had passed. He hadn't failed once again. Not like he did on his provisional hero license exam. The compliment made was appreciated, even if he hadn't been feeling like he had done enough. He hadn't judged the situation correctly and he had to hurt himself in order to win. Such behavior wasn't acceptable on a real fight. If there wasn't a time limit, he would have been out in a short time. “Because I have been weak, I ended up using a move which wasn't well tested.” he explained. “But I will get stronger than this.” His hand forming a fist. He had a long way to go still. “Thank you, again. Your Quirk is one to admire.” he softly said.
