Rut
He couldn't explain what this was. He couldn't explain how to even begin to cope with it. Where to start. All he knew was that his body was reacting in ways it shouldn't. His mind was a jumbled mess. His skin seemed more sensitive than usual. His senses heightened.
And the anger. The frustration. He couldn't determine if he wanted closeness, or if he longed to slice someone's throat.
In somewhat of a panic, he'd keep himself hidden away. He'd go over every solution he could. Though so far, nothing seemed successful.
This burning. This... Lust. He didn't know what to do. Nor how to do it. And he definitely didn't know how to ask for the help he needed.
Spanning from October 1st to October 31st, Alastor will be in rut. HOWEVER, it will be contained in the only two verses where he's sexually active. ::Two Of Hearts~:: - @axcat ::We Lose Our Minds In A City Of Roses~:: - @iomadachd Be aware that should you respond to the rut, or send in anything having to do with it, you will automatically be placed in one of these verses. If this fact is not taken into consideration, people will not be getting a response. He will be moody and more aggressive than usual. Angry, even. Vulnerable, and at his wits end. He's never dealt with anything like it before and is wholly unprepared. It is advised that you approach with caution.

Sam can feel you watching him.
Since waking up from the dead those years ago all of his senses have been heightened. He can anticipate situations before they develop, read the expression on a man’s face to deduce if he’s lying. But this is something else. A dormant ability hidden in his Alpha that’s responding to the bond developing between you. He can feel it growing every day. He knows when you are near or far, like now as you watch him riding away on his horse.
Despite the complications of being an Omega, you’ve proved to be less work than he initially anticipated. Yes, you’re often scared and appear lonely. But any Omega he came across would be all of those things and more. He sees your sadness, but you manage to not let it affect your ability to satisfy him so he honestly doesn’t care. It’s well worth the price to have you in his bed at night, rubbing your sweet scent over his skin and sucking his cock like you’re starving for it.
You need him more every day and that’s the way he prefers to keep it. If anything happened to you, it’s unlikely he would ever find a match as well suited. Most Alphas never find an Omega that responds so favorably.
Hell, in this world many Alphas never find an Omega at all.
“You don’t need to stay. I’ve recovered.” Sam affirms to Dean what they both already know.
“I’m not here for you. I’m here because being on my own is mind-numbing. The men are unbearable and this new Omega might be the death of me. Plus dad is a week away, ten days at most. I’m dreading rejoining the troops.”
“It’s true. The more time we spend away from him, the harder the reunion.”
“Used to be weeks, then months. How long has it been this time?” Dean asks.
“Eighteen months since I’ve seen him last,” Sam confirms. “Almost the same for you if I remember correctly.”
“I’m not sure. At least a year. I don’t mind him as much as you.”
Sam and John have a widening rift that’s been growing since Sam was a child. As soon as Sam was old enough to say the word ‘no’ the disobedience began. After Sam’s change to the man he is now, Dean thought perhaps they would grow closer. Sam was rapidly becoming just as ruthless as his father. But then came the day Sam surpassed John in nearly every regard.
Dean knows his brother keeps his actions in check. If he acted on his impulses, a monster would be unleashed. But Sam maintains a semblance of humanity and their father simply sees it as an opportunity. To have someone as smart and capable as Sam who is also willing to give merciless orders and gets his hands dirty when necessary is invaluable.
“A few of dad’s men are already here,” Sam confirms.
Two of John’s scouts arrived this morning. Now that they’ve confirmed safe passage, they’ll ride back for the largest garrison in the Winchester army. A hundred-thousand men will join up with Sam and Dean to create a force like nothing seen before.
They’re unstoppable and they know it.
“The sword maker arrived today,” Dean observes as they trot along the forest line. Both men scan the horizon, constantly vigilant of a possible impending attack.
Sam looks to Dean. “I could use a new blade. And his brand.”
His brand. Sam plans to make his ownership permanent. He must believe in your allegiance if he’s willing to brand you with the Winchester crest.
“I’ll have my Omega marked as well,” Dean adds and Sam turns to him with an inquisitive brow.
“The blonde one that’s tried to kill you twice now?”
“Best to have the family claim as soon as possible. I’ve heard reports of camps attacked and Omega’s being stolen and smuggled to the borders. We need her if we want to bargain.”
“She’s still wild?” Sam grins, watching Dean’s exasperation with amusement.
“She’s a hard one to break. Every time I think I’ve gotten the best of her she tries something new.”
“How long do you think she’ll live once our father shows up?”
“Depends on if he truly needs her as a bargaining chip or if he’ll just use her to entertain the men. Nothing gets them as energized as a beheading.”
“True. You won’t be broken-hearted?”
“No, not in the least. As soon as I find another Omega she’s heading to the jailer.”
“Smart. Better to have her under lock and key.” Sam rides for some time in silence, watching the slow-moving cloud trails across the gray horizon. “You told my Omega I was going to give her to you. Then to the men.”
“Maybe, sounds like me.” Dean laughs it off. “What’s the problem.”
“She tried to slit her own throat. I think she’s passed it now, but you could have given me a warning. You know how they react. I’d like to keep her alive.”
“It was a comment. She’s fragile.” Dean dismisses the idea that he acted rashly. “I’m still not convinced she didn’t have a hand in poisoning you. We should at least interrogate her. We can’t let the culprit get away with an attempt on Sam Winchester’s life. It sends the wrong message. Someone needs to be an example of what happens if they come after one of us. A body or two should do the trick.”
“And you think that person is my Omega?”
“Your Omega?” Dean shoots him a look “Please, we both know you’d never give her up. You’re too deep in that wet little cunt to see straight.”
“I see very clearly. Perhaps more than I have in a long time. I’m not sure I was ever truly satisfied before her. I thought the stories of destined matches were as much shit as you did but, now I...there’s something to it.”
“Have you been through a rut yet?”
“No,”
“Then how can you know for sure?”
“Because after I fuck her I don’t have the itch. It’s been gone since the first time.”
Every Alpha knows the feeling. An unsettled urgency in the gut that leaves a constant need for one more round to get it out. Betas do nothing for it. It’s the reason so many of them end up injured or worse by Alphas trying to find satisfaction. Omegas bring well-needed relief, but it’s not complete.
“Seriously?” Dean raises an eyebrow, checking if his brother is indeed serious. “Tell me how a bastard as coldhearted as you ends up with a true mate? That’s the universe fucking the rest of us. You’ve always been fucking lucky.”
“I’m not sure I would call dying in the battlefield and losing my soul, lucky.”
“Maybe it’s not luck, but it’s something.” Dean thinks on this while they ride further. “Do you remember what you were like before?”
“Not that different from now.”
“You wouldn’t recognize yourself. Do you remember when you killed your first man? You were sixteen and you cried for a week.”
“No, I didn’t...did I?”
“You did. I wasn’t sure you’d ever pick up a sword again. You don’t remember, do you?”
“I can’t remember anything from before. Feelings mostly, about dad, you. I have a few specific memories but nothing more than that.”
“When you were little you were a sweet kid. You’d go out and pick flowers for mom. Bouquets of small yellow flowers wrapped up with twine.”
“Stop it,” Sam looks away, shifting in the saddle.
“Call it whatever you want, luck, destiny, but be prepared to put up a fight if you want to keep her after dad gets wind of it. You know how he is about the Omegas. And she’s a prize, he’ll want her to give to some loyal-”
“He can try.” Sam shrugs. “And he’ll fail to take her. He knows better than to cross me.”
“Maybe,” Dean surmises, watching as they come upon the camp.

Mental Health and Isolation
Okay, guys. This is going to deal with emotions, depression, trauma, isolation, and Covid-19. If you feel that these issues will trigger you, I recommend skipping over this post.
With most of the world falling into lockdown officially or unofficially, I wanted to say a little something. Several things may happen to you during this period of your life, and I want you to know that you are not alone in them, specifically in regard to your reactions to isolation.
I’m going to put a cut, just because it’s going to be a really long post, but if you have the mental health capabilities and patience to read my words, I’d like to ask that you do.
Last year, I spent about six months in isolation due to personal health problems that prevented me from leaving my home. I left on occasion for visits to the doctor and the occasional run to the store, but otherwise, I was confined to my home - moreover, my bedroom - through my illness and recovery. In January, I’d started leaving the house again a bit, driving, making plans. However, with my weakened immune system, most of those plans were quickly postponed as news of Covid-19 swept the world. As of currently writing this post, I’ve spent almost nine months mostly in isolation. It seems the rest of the world is finally catching up to me, though, as people find themselves ordered to their homes or needing to stay home for personal health reasons.
Why am I telling you all this? Because in the time that I spent ill last year, I learned a lot about social isolation, and a few of those things I’d like to share with you. My hope is that it may help some of you cope with what you’re going through.
1) You may feel grief or a sense of injustice.
You’ve lost things this year and that’s disappointing. It’s okay to admit it. It’s easy to fall into a mental rut unsure of how to process the emotions you’re feeling. There are things that you missed, important things, that you have every right to be upset by. Perhaps it was a wedding, important birthday, graduation, prom, vacation, festival, or other event that you were excited for. Perhaps it’s something as simple as spending time with a loved one or seeing your friends at school or getting to experience something that you were excited for. Your feelings are valid. It’s okay to be upset that you have to miss those things. If you feel grief for the experiences you’ve lost, allow yourself to feel those emotions. It’s okay to be upset.
It’s easy to try to force yourself into believing your feelings aren’t valid. I mean, there are other things going on in the world right now that are painful. There are families losing loved ones, people suffering. However, using their pain as a reason to invalidate your pain will not help you feel better. Do not try to shame yourself into not being upset. It will just leave you muddled and in even worse pain because you’re piling negative emotions on top of the ones you’re already feeling. Allow yourself to feel whatever you’re feeling, be upset over the experiences and opportunities you’ve lost. Doing that will allow you to then focus on the things that you have left to gain and the good you are doing by helping those who can’t help themselves.
2) You may feel a sense of helplessness.
Things are out of your control. You can’t fix this all by yourself, it just isn’t possible. And as distressing as that is, it’s the truth. You may feel helpless or useless “stuck at home” while people are struggling.
However, what’s important to remember is that you’re doing what you can. Staying at home is helping people more than you realize. You can’t directly see the impact of the help you’re giving because you don’t even know who you’re helping, but it’s important to remember that you’re doing your best, helping as many people as you can (more than you know) by doing your part to stop more vulnerable communities from contracting Covid-19.
It may also be beneficial to think of small things you can do to help people. Perhaps you have a friend that’s homeschooling young children that you could send a link to the aquarium or an online book reading to. Or you could send an email to a loved one who may be struggling. While it’s important to slow the spread of the virus, allow your kindness to be contagious. Even just one act of kindness that you make in a day can transform the day for someone else.
3) You may experience symptoms of depression or hopelessness due to isolation.
Without a routine or the normal things that keep you motivated, it’s very possible that you will fall into a cycle of depression. Especially if things you were once excited for are now gone. It’s easy right now to look at the world and say “what’s the point in anything.” Being isolated can cause you to recede into yourself, block out the world.
I can’t personally tell you what will help you overcome this, but I will say that trying your best to practice self care at this time is important. Even if you don’t feel motivated to do much, try your best to do one or two simple things that will help keep you on track (maybe brushing your hair, washing your face, drinking a glass of water, etc.).
I understand things feel hopeless right now. There are terrible things going on in the world and the emotions that you’re feeling are a lot to cope with. However, there are things to hope for. While it isn’t always easy (or necessary) to find a silver lining everything, try to do a few things every day that may make you feel a little bit more regulated. Let the sun in your room. Take a shower. Even if you don’t feel good, try to practice caring for yourself as best as you can.
And understand that you aren’t a bad, selfish, or strange person for feeling depressed or hopeless. We don’t get to choose what we feel, but we can choose how we respond to those feelings.
4) You may relive traumas or experience trauma responses from past experiences.
Isolation gives you ample time to be alone with your mind. While this won’t cause issues for everyone, for people who have experienced painful situations or trauma, this can open up time for your mind and body to relive those experiences and remember ones you may have forgotten. This can be scary and distressing, especially if your usual coping mechanisms to your trauma include doing activities or distracting yourself with things you can no longer do. It’s important to understand that while these things did happen to you, they are not currently happening anymore. The things you are remembering from your past cannot harm you right now.
Having time to think about your traumas can bring trauma responses to the surface. You may feel guilt, shame, anxiety, responsibility, or any number of other trauma responses. However, it’s important to recognize that those feelings aren’t your own, they’re purely in response to trauma. It was not your fault; your brain is saying it is as a way to cope with the pain that you experienced. You did not deserve it. Try to focus on your own feelings about the issues you’ve faced, not the feelings created from people that did not care about your experiences or the feelings your own brain may be projecting as a coping mechanism.
What you’re feeling is valid and you are not alone. Being alone gives your brain time to wander, time to sift through things or focus on things it wouldn’t normally fixate on. Try to reach out to someone you trust, let someone know what you’re experiencing. If this happens, if you start remembering or reliving past traumas, please remember you are not at fault and you do not deserve the pain that you are going through.
5) You may realize things about yourself - emotionally, mentally, or physically - that you didn’t want to know.
As stated above, you will have ample time alone with your mind during social isolation. In addition to remembering trauma, it can also give your mind time to process trauma, dredge through you feelings, and evaluate your actions and experiences. This can provide clarity or understanding about past experiences and behaviors, but sometimes this isn’t always desired. You may feel thrown off guard by the information you’ve realized about yourself.
It can be very difficult to realize why you behave the way you do or what experiences you’ve faced that have traumatized you. However, try your best to allow yourself to think with clarity, understand the emotions you’re feeling, and what you can do to process it. These feelings may be difficult, but it doesn’t make you any less of a good person. It doesn’t mean your feelings aren’t valid. And it doesn’t mean that you don’t deserve kindness and compassion, both from others and from yourself. It isn’t easy to process pain, to sift through emotions, but if you are, then know you’re doing your best, and I’m proud of you for that. You should be proud of you for that.
---
Of course, I’m not an expert on psychology. I’m no doctor, and I certainly can’t tell you what you personally will experience or what responses to mental health struggles are best for you. The list above is in no way comprehensive or definitive, you may feel all of those things, some, or none, and I can’t guarantee that your feelings on the topics above will match the things I feel. However, I’m speaking from experience when I describe the things above. I grieved for the loss of my first year of university last fall; I felt helpless against my own health struggles; there were times I was so depressed I couldn’t function; I relived traumas and remembered experiences I was desperate to forget again; I learned so much about my mental health and what I needed to thrive. I know what it’s like if you’re going through any of the above mentioned things.
I see what you’re going through right now. I understand. You are not alone. And your feelings are valid. Do not be ashamed if you are overwhelmed or emotional. It’s important that you allow yourself to experience these feelings, to process what your brain is going through. Isolation isn’t meant to be easy. Being alone with your own mind isn’t always easy. And it’s completely valid to be struggling right now.
But you are not alone. If you’re struggling, reach out to a relative or a friend or another person that you may trust. If you feel you don’t have anyone, you have me. This blog is a safe space for you to come to if you need somewhere to be. You’re always welcome to talk to me, message me, if you need support from someone right now. I understand what you’re going through. You are not alone.

Voltron au with drag queens and Shance! Inspired by Rupaul’s Drag Race Part 2
Got him a lot of momentum, and creating content for those marginalized groups like a weekly youtube channel with skits written and produced by them. Later on there is a reality tv show opportunity when the queen of queens requests lance to help screen those that will be competing in a drag competition (like Ru Paul's drag race but in this fake universe) and should he know anyone to send them the link to the application as they will remain open for a while giving them enough time to iron out the contract details and negotiate a guest appearance as Ms. Blue is another great icon. Lance agrees and emails some of the queens he has kept contact with but Keith is the only one he calls.
Keith is in the bathroom but knows its lance as he is the only one who has that ringtone. He makes Shiro answer but did not realize the events that would set in motion. Lance is surprised but remains his flirty self and tells the smoldering voice to let Keith know to call him back as soon as he is available.Shiro is blushy but stutters out that Keith is finishing something in the kitchen but will be with him momentarily. He is just answering on Keith's orders so that he wouldn't miss lance. Lance is like how sweet of him to leave me in such great company making Shiro blush but then Kieth is out of the can so Shiro tells him bye and nice meeting you over the phone as he passes it back to Keith. Keith is kind of catching his breath as he rushed it and lance is teasing him about the mysterious melty voice but then checks himself as he has a great opportunity for Keith.
Keith is amazed and somewhat unsure but Lance tells him do it bitch. I have seen you grow so much and before you say that's because of me, it is not. Our drags may include technology but yours is all you. Since you made yourself a profile you have exploded and this is the next level. I signed a nondisclosure agreement, but I can tell you I will be a very small part of the show. The worst that can happen is they reject you, but I am positive you will make it to the end if not win it. I sent emails to some other queens, but I called you because I am a big fan and want to see you slay on national television. Keith is touched and agrees to send in an application. Time passes and receives notice that he is one of 10 selected to compete and that they look forward to meeting with him regarding the terms and conditions.
His hotel and travel will be covered and he is allowed to bring 2 guests. He is glad and picks Shiro and Pidge. The whole process is like a lunch orientation vacation. They gave them extra days so they can explore the area before and after the paperwork time. Because they do not have the queens finalized, they are not scheduling them together but individually. Lance is a part of this process and bumps into Shiro while out and about. More like Shiro steps in as the cashier of the juice bar was being a butt to Lance. He was going to step in either way but the fact that its Lance makes him angry.
After Keith started drag Shiro started doing some research. He found the one who inspired Keith and was enthralled. He became a follower but never went to meet and greets. He occasionally joined as Keith's plus one for competitions but usually it was Pidge who went with him. He was also unlucky because in one of those competitions Pidge met Lance and his main tech support Hunk and they had a blast and shared contact info. Shiro took that as a cosmic sign that Lance was too good for him and left it at that but The Call reminded him of the charisma Lance always has and he fell for him again.
He is a lawyer so he is all about them fancy words. His fists are just back up according to Keith. So he puts a hand on Lances shoulder and asks if he can step in. Lance is dazed by his beauty and lets him. Shiro tears into the dude in a way that emphasizes how much of an asshole he is and that he will make sure to contact the franchise to see if he is representative of their view on Queens because that is what Lance is. They will be taking their clientele elsewhere and he offers Lance his arm before walking out with him. Some person recorded and posted it making it go viral with many being outraged at the employee for treating a potential customer that way but the fact that its their lovely queen made them out for blood.
Others are like get that momma Blue, what a man, wishing somebody can make me feel like a queen, meant take a lesson from a true gentleman, if you don't want him can i keep him, etc. And the juice franchise company speaking out because this got A LOT of attention and that ex employee/manager reflected real bad on them. But back to Lance and Shiro, Lance thanks Shiro because he was very close to doing something his friend Red (Keith) would do but thanks to his new hero, he remained the classy lady he is.
Shiro is positively charmed and let him know he is welcome. The two introduce themselves with Lance teasing Shiro like, Shiro the Hero, were you named after your occupation my good sir. Shiro is blushing again. But tells him nothing like that. He is just always ready to fight against inequality and that his brother is always inspiring him. Lance eyes twinkle and he asks about the identity of said brother and Shiro tells him about Keith and recognizing him as his brothers charming friend. Lance is like I knew it was you! I recognized that voice the moment you stepped in. Shiro is like wait you remembered my voice?
Now lance is the blushy one and confessing that he has a really nice voice that could read audio books or have its own podcast/radio show. Shiro is pleased and asks if it's not too forward of him, to share contact info and get to know each other better as he is simply charmed by Lance and always wanted to meet his brothers other greatest support. Lance is floored and agrees. Shiro is not only charming and a hunk, but he was respectful and broadcasted his intentions.
Shiro also lets him know if I am reading this wrong I apologize as I did not want to make you uncomfortable. He was also serious about the lawsuit because that manager was an asshole and needs a lesson before he continues to share his hateful rhetoric. So the sparks fly and practically have a date. Lance pays for as he wants to thank his hero with Shiro paying for dessert as he wanted to sweeten their meeting. They lament meeting before the official meetings as they will have to be professionals but will meet up after everything has been wrapped up with Keith.
The meetings end up taking longer as Shiro got into lawyer mode with Pidge and Keith being like we need these materials to be available as supplies and any other requests. They were unable to get all their demands, but most of the supplies provided by the studio would do. Two companies are pending as the studio reached out to them and are negotiating sponsorship, but seeing as one of them already sponsors Keith and Lance, they are hopeful. Shiro was also able to negotiate a higher wage/payout (idk), as Keith would be missing 1-4 competitions to appear on the show. The grand prize is not guaranteed but with his reputation of consistently being 1st place he would be losing guaranteed money.
As such, they should try and meet that. The studio is hard presses to find an argument but concede as they were told by The Queen that Keith is one of the high priority candidates and that provided the nda is signed, they can add anything in the contract with the exclusion of being able to cheat or having 1st place guaranteed. So they negotiate the sum as Shiro is correct, but one must also consider the level of exposure. Shiro responds with exposure or exploitation? And the studio team is impressed again and concede with a 10% or something reduction of the originally proposed amount. They all agree, sign, and before they walk off exchange business cards so that they can talk about having Shiro consult is he is unavailable to join their team.
Shiro lets them know he will consider the offer and the legal team walks off. Lance is waiting for them at the lobby with Hunk to see how the talks went and is happy when he hears how Shiro arm wrestled the team for Keith's supplies and compensation. The group is together for the first time nut they all click as if they were long time friends. Also, I am debating Lotor as The Queen. I was initially gonna have him be the loser from Keith's first competition but then he is meticulous in the show so he would not be in character as a loser. I mean Keith's is not in character, but i wanted to avoid the initial rivalry and change it into a mentor ship.
That is not say they are instant bffs but that just like in the show, Keith is a natural and Lance has worked his way to that level. He was initially envious of Keith's start, but then got to know him and talk after a few hang outs with alcohol and had their heart to heart because at that stage Lance was in a rut and seeing Keith running made him feel inadequate. Afterwards they became the brohoes we have now.
So, they all hang out while Keith is there but the group notices the sparks between Lance and Shiro so they conveniently forget something back at the hotel and leave them together. I need to cut this short but Keith slays the competition and wins the grand prize. Shiro has his own following after the juice bar incident and they have joined with Lances following to create The Blue Paladin Squad. They refer to lance and Shiro as paladins because both are advocates and do a lot for the lgbtq community. Even before lance Shiro was active so the internet is invested in them.
The end
