Who: Gwen x Jax ( @thejax-reed )
Where: Nevermore,
When: Around 3PM, Monday, a closed day
Gwen spit out her latest concoction in the bar sink with frustration. "Dammit," she grunted, pouring the rest of the mixture down the drain from the glass she'd mixed it in, "I thought I had that one." She looked at the mess she had scattered around the bar in defeat as she leaned back in the barstool she'd brought around to the inside of the bar, regretting her choices.
Every year for the last five years the neighborhood bars have competed in a "Clash of Cocktails" as a way to raise money for charity and bragging rights for the following year. Nevermore had one the first three years, but two of the bars had beaten her the last two years. Gwen was determined to make a comeback but had been so distracted by her familial drama the last few months that she'd completely forgotten about it. Now, the alpha found herself scrambling to come up with a winner as the deadline quickly approached. Covering her head with her arms on the cold bar, Gwen could hear someone approaching from the back of the bar. "Just leave me to my misery," she deadpanned, figuring it was a staff member so she didn't bother to look up.

The nest part about mutual pining Dion/Morris where neither is willing to admit their feelings, if you subscribe to the idea that Adam and Morris share a dorm, is Adam having to deal with Morris' pining every night.
Adam: Morris I love you as a friend but I will smother you with a pillow if you don't shut up
Morris: sure fine whatever
Morris, later: *thinking about Dion's hands*
Adam, unable to block out those thoughts: i just want to sleep
Morris: "Who do you think the hottest Aquato teen is?"
Adam: "... The Epcot ball..."
Morris: "Well I like Dion, and not just because he's pretty-"
Adam: Epcooooott

' listen, I know it's cold, but this is the only market that actually sells cricket flour and they special requested it for this cake, so if you really want to keep me company for this, we need to get going before they sell out. '

i’ve been loving watching critical role recently if for no other reason than because i get to watch a decent portion of viewers actively falling for cult tactics lmao
a forbes article describes cult tactics as when cult leaders “censor dissenting viewpoints, promote a distorted narrative and use relentless repetition and peer pressure”
ludinus needing to monologue at everyone he meets. cherry picking what information to let people know (ie the orb). showing popular world leaders (gods?) at their absolute worst as a means to win over the vulnerable. creating dissent between cult prospects and the people who they’re close to outside the cult. doesn’t take no for an answer. repeating his points over and over, in whatever context he thinks will be most persuasive. targeting people who’ve lost everything. convincing people that they’re special
matt is a genius.
