Deja Vu
Where: Nevermore then Garond When: During the black outs Who: Max/Louis - Closed
Tumblr media
Getting word from Will was a relief, at least she knew dad was okay. He and the zoo at least could at least come and stay with her. The shop had been left alone, that could give the community at least somewhere to get to and she'd already offered to heal those that needed it. Especially people like Rei, Gabe, Luke and Louis that were all in those public services that were gonna struggle. She'd sent a text to Gwen and still nothing, it'd been too long. Even when she was working at least there would have been a notice that she'd read it. Hopping into her car she took off towards Nevermore, her anxiety spiked as she rounded around the corner of the street. Her heart sunk in her chest again. The bar was in rough shape she checked around her before starting to do what she could to douse the flames. "Gwen!" She called out as she ducked around a few things. "Babe!" The no response made her blood run cold. It took a few minutes to find her in the ash and smoke. Moving pieces out of the way finally spotting the tell tale blonde hair of the woman she loved stained red. "GWEN!" Her voice was hoarse as she started to check her pulse making sure she was still alive her. She pulled out her calling 911 giving the location and resting the head of her love in her lap. Her hand gently brushing the hair from her face, she mutters to herself over and over the healing spells that she'd learned. No matter what she tried nothing was waking her up...the sky started to rain around them.. It took a while for them to arrive, the young man that she'd recently tattoo'd was here and she gave him a knowing nod. He gave her a smile as they started to load her into the ambulance. Max climbed in after them her foot tapping in concern as they head to Garond. She does what she can to stay with them until she's not allowed. When Gwen's finally given a bed and Max is allowed to be with her she takes a seat beside her holding her hand and begins the wait... staring at their joined hands and not moving a muscle, the storm of her emotions swirling in sky above her.

Fighting Fire Under Fire| Self-Para
Gwen had been schmoozing and mingling with a few regulars when the first Molotov came through Nevermore's front window. Flames burst up from the floor in violent waves as it crashed into the host area. Her heart fell into her stomach as reality set in of what was happening, as the next few were hurled through the windows. Reacting quickly, Gwen shouted at her waitstaff to begin escorting patrons out of the fire exit as she raced for the fire extinguisher at a nearby wall. Two of her bartenders, joined her with extinguishers of their own "Not my bar, you motherfuckers," she muttered as she began attacking the flames. The fire alarm and flashing of lights came next, relief flooding through her as she knew what would follow. Her relief was short-lived, however, as panic engulfed her as the sprinkler's remained off. "Sonofabitch," she fumed, nodding to one of the bartenders and dropping the extinguisher before racing to the kitchen.
Just as she neared the kitchen entrance, an explosion was triggered in the kitchen, sending Gwen flying back several feet into the service station. Coughing as she forced herself up, the now-concussed alpha beelined through the kitchen to get to the sprinkler system. She could feel warm trickles of blood falling down her face as she already started to heal, but she continued to push through the flames and smoke. As she neared the emergency system's door, a masked figure appeared from within the smoke, striking her with a blow to the stomach. Coughing harder, Gwen reared up, claws and teeth bared with murder in her eyes. She slashed at the masked figure, landing a few good strikes before another figure ran up and dusted her with something. Magic. Fuck. Her body began to protest heavily as she continued to fight, the smoke making it harder and harder for her to see, to breathe. The concussion and severe lack of oxygen eventually got the better of her, causing her to falter. The masked figure overpowered her quickly, landing several more blows to her stomach, legs, and head until she collapsed from her own weight. Tunnels formed in her vision as her lungs burned, a fire growing in her chest as much as it was around her. Unable to move, to fight, she watched the masked man step over her as her consciousness began to fade; the last thing she saw was her restaurant burning around her.
Gwen will eventually be found unresponsive by the love of her life, Max, among the ash of Nevermore. Her heartbeat will be but a whisper as she is rushed to Garond District Hospital along with several other patrons from the bar. The doctors will work as hard as they can to stabilize her, but due to the severe carbon monoxide poisoning, burns, and head trauma, Gwen will fall into a coma.

A small gift box is found in each Music Club member's desk at school. Inside is a small card written in a mixture of cursive and chicken scratch.
Thank you for being my friend.- Gwen
Inside the box is a keychain with a picture of the person and Gwen with a song that reminds Gwen of them.

Gwen Lycaon | 16| 1B | Band Class | The Prodigy
What are their goals in school and beyond?
Gwen's dream is to get as far away from school as possible. She is counting down the days she can apply to a conservatory for her passion for music.
What is their home life like?
Gwen had what most people would describe as a good childhood. Her family supported the youngest of the family's gifts, her biggest fan being her big brother Caleb. The two were practically inseparable growing up, and not much has changed. Gwen could have graduated from school early with her gifts, but she chose to stay because she wasn't quite ready to be separated from her brother just yet.
What is their school life like? Are they academically gifted? Are they popular? Are they introverted? Are they a delinquent?
Gwen is a legacy of VA, and despite the reputation of many Lycaons before her, Gwen stays mostly to herself. She has a few friends, such as her brother, her bandmates, and cousins, but tends to be a loner. Gwen refuses to show her true level of intellect because she fears graduating early and being separated from Caleb and her cousins, and instead, chooses to dumb herself down to stay under the radar.
What extracurricular club do they take part in?
Band, Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Drums, and Flute
How are they going to spend Valentine's Week this year?
Practicing her latest fixation piece of music.
Do they have a crush on anyone? Do they wish to confess to their crush?
TBD
Connections:
Big Brother: @caleb-lycaon
Cousin: @augustine-lycaon
Cousin & Band Mate: @faithinlycaon
Band Mate: @arjun-iqbal

Who: Gwen x Max ( @gildedxink ) When: Heat Week Where: Gwen's House
To say that Gwen was on edge was the understatement of the year. She'd taken the suppressant occasionally throughout the years, but the drama of the pack and work had left her forgetting to take it this year, and now she was in full heat. All she could bear to wear was a loose, flowing sundress that left very little to the imagination. She'd been plagued by hot flashes and urges that were well on their way to overwhelming Gwen's attempts at composure. She'd thrown herself into an idea that had crept in as the symptoms of heat week overtook her. As she placed the final touches of her project, she heard the doorbell ring.
Edgar beat her to the door, eager to greet their guest as much as Gwen as she flung the door open. "Hi..." she blurted out, resisting every muscle that craved to reach out to Max as Gwen took in her partner. Her partner, she thought giddily as she beamed a smile, moving to let Max in. Edgar seemed to be making it difficult as he no doubt wanted every whiff of Max's favorite companion that was left on Max, as well as affection. "Let her in you big baby," she teased, lightly tugging on the big, goofy beast to allow Max entrance.

"Bullshit, Caleb. You can't expect me to believe you've just decided to change course on this overnight. You pushed Jax out of the pack for this secret and now you want to be a team player? If there's one thing i've learned from this family is that nothing comes without strings..." she fired back, white-knuckling the edges of the kitchen island for support.
The blonde shifted her gaze from Caleb's to the large windows in the kitchen overlooking the grounds. The younger alpha swallowed as she could just barely make out the father they shared doing some yardwork far off in the garden. Thankfully he was out of earshot from their conversation, but it was only a matter of time before he came in for his hourly lemonade break. "Caleb, just- just wait a second," Gwen blurted, her cheeks going red as her stomach turned, the reality of the situation finally settling in. She let out a slow breath, trying to maintain her composure but the anxiety she felt only continued to build. "How do we know he doesn't already know? That he didn't figure it out a long time ago and just- doesn't care?" She knew that her words were nothing more than wishful thinking. Their mother was nothing if not Fort Knox when it came to her secrets.
Tumblr media
"Game? I'm not playing any games," Caleb replied, eyes narrowing in annoyance at Gwen's accusatory tone. "This is me compromising. You want to be open about Jax, then you should be the one to tell our father."
Tumblr media
Caleb's own inaction this whole time had been a sad attempt at keeping their family together, but given how the pack seemed to be splintering after Jax's abrupt departure, it was clear that he needed to do something. Making this decision did not come easy, but even Caleb had to admit that it was going to be an eventuality. "He's in the garden. Shall we?"

She noticed the twinkle in his eyes at her joke, giving him a wag of her eyebrows as she accepted the flask back, "That was funny and you know it," she teased before bringing the flask up to her lips. "Auggie, come on, now. I don't care if it's anything serious. I'm just glad you're letting yourself get back out there. I mean, come on, cousin, name the last person you've brought to a public function like this. That's okay I'll wait... " she trailed off, giving him a playfully challenging side-eye. As she took another drink, her brain decided to tell her body to gasp at his tidbit about his mysterious date, causing the wolf to inhale her sip of whiskey. She began coughing violently, "god-dam-mit, auggie," she wheezed as her lungs took in oxygen between expelling the whiskey, something of a laugh between coughs as she gave her cousin the finger. Recovering herself and looking at her cousin, her eyes were wide. "Back the fuck up, homie. You're dating a whole ass deity?"
Tumblr media
Augustine couldn't help but tense, genuinely taken back by the admittedly funny comment regarding his work. He had been grateful to not be taking a drink as Gwen spoke, handing her back the flask to address her latter comments. "Thanks, I think? It's not anything serious..." He was sure he'd fuck it up eventually... He hadn't even told Elena of his criminal record even... "I can't imagine deities get involved with other species often, but... Who knows," he added with a shrug, downplaying his own interest and hopes for it all. "I'll enjoy it while it lasts."

Hearing the words of assurance from Max made Gwen's heart flutter. She wasn't used to this much love, a love that was readily given without her having to prove herself or fight for it. Loving Max had been the easiest thing Gwen had ever experienced if she were being honest, and with everything going on for both of them, it was something both of them could use right now. Max was a light in what Gwen had come to expect as a very dim world, and although it scared her tremendously, she also had to admit it also brought her solace. Gwen fought the tears that welled in her eyes as she looked from the necklace to Max, not wanting this night, or this moment to ever end.
Clearing the lump that formed in her throat, she couldn't help but laugh at Max' joke. "What do you mean you haven't picked a name yet? Isn't that literally like the first part of creating a ship," Gwen teasingly chastised, shaking her head. Her eyes darted to Max' eyes at their next comment, a lazy grin forming on her lips. She was about to fire back a joking retaliation when Max's next words stunned her. A part of the Alpha wanted to instantly reject those words, and she understood that part to be irrational. It was the same feeling she fought constantly while spending time with Jax, after years of sealing off her emotions behind thick walls of avoidance and spite. If anyone was able to break through her mental and emotional armor, it was Max. She swallowed again as she snaked her arm around Max's, finding her hand and entangling her fingers with hers. "Only if you understand you're stuck with me too," she teased, pushing away her previous thoughts and leaning in for a gentle, yet passionate kiss.
"Definitely not a witch thing." They leaned on the table as Gwen started in on the little box. Max could feel all the tension they'd been carrying in their back ebb away. Finally having something to call what they were was a relief in a way. They didn't realize how much they had needed that clearly defined relationship until this moment. With everything else in their lives constantly in flux this being something that was stable was a relief. The relationship had worried them somewhat, between the differing species and age it could all get a bit weird and if things worked out they'd have to cross those bridges when it came to it. For now, Max would simply bask in the love, affection, and life that having Gwen gave them. Wiping the tear from her face made them smile all the brighter, there had been a annoying shadow in the back of their mind saying that they had gone to far. They couldn't help the small laugh at the comment about them being real, and it was hard for them to argue. This was a dream that Max was terrified to wake up from. "I promise, I am as real as I can be. I swear to Hecate if this ends up being only a dream then I will find a way to come back and find you again over and over."
Love.
The single word putting a violent stop to the witch's beating heart until Gwen's lips found their again. Mentally reeling as they kissed back, that was something they hadn't expected but it brought them such incredible joy. Three little words that carried so much incredible weight but still made sense and felt right. The only thing that stopped the mental reeling was her teasing voice hitting her ears. "How could I not? Have you seen you? I haven't come up with a cute ship name yet though." They shook their head, resting their forehead against hers and taking a soft breath. "And if you think we're not going to acknowledge the fact that you just said you loved me you are dead wrong."
"I love you," They kissed the end of her nose with a big smile. "You know you're stuck with me now right?"

Seeing Caleb open the door set a hard line on her lips, flashbacks from their previous altercation mulling over in her mind. Gwen walked through the door without a word, biting her tongue until she could almost taste blood in her mouth. Her combat boots made loud thuds on the hardwood floor as she followed her brother, much like a child dragging her feet.
"Didn't realize I had a choice," she replied coldly, placing her bag on a nearby table before turning to him. The younger alpha couldn't tell if her brother was actually being sincere or if there was an ulterior motive at play in this interaction. Considering the way their family handled things, she didn't put it past him for option 2. Hearing his proposal her nostrils flared, her eyes deadpanning as she stared at her older brother. She huffed a sarcastic laugh as she looked away, placing her hands on her hips. "You've got to be kidding me. You're telling me Mr. Take this Secret to Your Grave is all of a sudden on team Shout it From the Rooftops? Let's cut the shit, Caleb. What game are you playing at? "
Tumblr media
Caleb opened the door before Gwen could even knock after having heard her car pull into the driveway. He turned and walked back into the house knowing that she would follow. The alpha had been mulling this over for a long time, especially given how strained his relationship with a number of key players in the pack had become and especially his sister.
"Thank you for coming," he said and turned to face Gwen in an attempt at politeness even when the tension between them was still heavy in the air. "I think it's time we got to the bottom of this. Considering how you've made clear your stance on Jax and how you wish for things to be out in the open, then it's time we told our father. The one who actually raised you."

"Yea...," she trailed off with a blush at Jax's mention of Max as her date. Her fingers idly toyed with the necklace given to her by Max earlier as she contemplated her father's observation. "Thank you," she added, beaming "I think so too." Receiving compliments wasn't something the young alpha was used to, at least from a parental figure. Growing up in the Lycaon household, especially for Gwen and Caleb, it wasn't exactly warm fuzzies and praise. Her dad usually made up for it when he could, but their mom usually knocked them down just as quickly. Gwen's smile faltered at her father's question, adverting her eyes to the drink she promptly brought to her lips. "We haven't spoken since our fight after he kicked you out. We locked eyes for about two seconds at the bar and that's about as far as we got..." she added, trying not to let her previous anger from that fight ruin her night. "What about you two?"
Tumblr media
"Somethin' tells me I won't be able to." It was a good save and the company was infinitely better than Gale's, so no, Jax would not be complaining. He had actually wanted to find Gwen at some point. See how she was doing. It was..a special time of the year, after all. Now more meaninful than ever before..and she had come with somebody. "Oh, you mean Max?" he smiled, arching an eyebrow in her direction.. "I thought I'd seen you two walk in earlier. You two make a cute couple, if you ask me." Not like he deserved to have any say but, it was one he approved of, too. Not wanting to make his daughter more nervous, Reed turned to his drink and shrugged. "..quiet. Uneventful. I'm tryin' to keep it that way but Elizabeth is here. So is your brother. You..talked to her at all since she got back?"

Who: Gwen x Caleb ( @caleb-lycaon ) Where: Lycaon Manor When: Few days after Xmas
Gwen savored the last few drags of her cigarette as she pulled into the driveway of her childhood home. Caleb had texted her after the party saying they needed to talk, and since she was still apart of the pack, she had to obey. It had better involve him waving a white flag, Gwen thought as she shifted her Rav 4 into park. The two had basically ignored each other the entire Christmas Party, only talking briefly for check-ins and updates on pack members. She wondered what Caleb could possibly want to talk to her about. Maybe he'd finally grew a pair and was going to punish her or something. Considering how their last one-on-one conversation had gone down, she wondered how much of the house would still be left standing after round two. Taking a last, long drag of her cigarette, Gwen exhaled with a sigh as she turned her car off and headed toward the house.

Gwen had been anxious about her hang-out with Frankie since she'd texted her that morning. Although Gwen knew that Frankie getting into the party was forbidden, she also couldn't help but enjoy the opportunity of spending a night with one of her closest friends as her true self. Once she was found, they'd probably just wipe her memory and send her on her merry way, so Gwen capitalized on the opportunity. The Golden Rule was put in place for a reason, and the Alpha knew that and respected it even, but that didn't mean it didn't suck. She hated feeling like she was lying to Frankie, but seeing her at the X-Mas party made Gwen think that one day Frankie might be able to learn the truth.
"Hey yourself," Gwen responded with a soft smile, pushing a stray strand of hair behind the bandana she wore. "I'd say it was pretty good. Can't say the same about this morning, though. Whew. God, you know, I always forget about how wrecked I get after a night out until it's too late," she teased, eyeing Frankie carefully. "Wanna grab a table and we can chat over some lunch?" Gwen offered before hearing Max's question. "Did you call me or anything last night?" Gwen questioned with confusion. "Frankie what are you talking about?"

who: gwen & frankie @gwen-lycaon where: Nevermore
Good god, this was embarrassing. Frankie hadn't blacked out...maybe ever? She was more in control then that, in spite of being a damn good bartender she actually had a two drink max rule for herself. One minute she was watching a romcom with a glass of wine, the next...well the next was nothing, zip! How was that possible? Was she really such a lightweight?
She would have been more freaked about it if she hadn't have ended up in her apartment. Meeting up with Gwen she couldn't help but shift awkwardly. How do you ask your friend if you sent any embarrassing texts or voice memos in a casual way? This was the biggest reason why Frankie was such a control freak, to avoid situations like this.
"Hey," she cleared her throat as she walked over to see the ultra cool, blonde, buddy. "So how was your night?" She hummed trying to remain casual. Attempting to access any shift in the vibes. "And...did I-I didn't call you or anything right?"
