Foul Legacy meeting you, an astronomer studying at Sumeru's famous Akademiya. it's at night, several hours after most students have gone to sleep, apart from the ones in your Darshan, of course- your evenings are mostly spent outside somewhere quiet, looking up at the night sky with a lantern to keep you company. it's lovely and beautiful, the constellations twinkling above as you write your papers, if a little lonely; your classmates aren't really up for idle chatter most of the time. but it's alright, really. the silence doesn't get to you at all.

everything is fine.

normally your stargazing sessions are spent in silent contemplation, but one night you begin hearing rustling noises in the foliage behind you. yet when you turn, there's nothing- and no one- there, and you can only look back up with a slight frown. the rustling continues, slowly transitioning into the soft sound of heavy footsteps on moss as a presence tentatively settles next to you. you're not going to look. you're not going to look. you're not going to look-

you peek over, and let out a yelp at the monster sitting beside you, scrambling to get away.

the next moments are a flurry of chirps and yells and ruffled fur, the creature bowing his head and whining apologetically, carefully picking up a piece of paper you had dropped and holding it out to you as a peace offering. he purrs deeply when you eventually approach and take it from him, his claws barely even leaving a mark on the delicate parchment. the beast glances at the ground then back up to you, silently moving so you can sit back down exactly where you were, and when you tentatively cross your legs he curls up at your side, not touching, but simply looking up at the stars with the same awe that's always in your eyes.

you hesitate again, before reaching out and slowly setting a hand in the monster's soft hair, and are met with soft, happy purrs.

so here’s a little teaser of something I’ve been working on that is the most self indulgent specific thing I’ve ever written… i promise you it will be nasty but this is sfw :)

You’ve managed to get deep into the book, getting lost in the world of fae as you sip your cider. That is, until the gentlemen start growing more and more rambunctious. You bristle from the noise, trying desperately to sink into the fantasy world but to no avail. With a growl, you clap your book shut and sink into your barstool. The noise behind you quiets down and you think maybe you’ve acted too dramatic — this isn’t your bar, after all. You take your glass and bring it to your lips to drink down the rest of your cider. Unfortunately, you feel that your best move is to head home to enjoy some silence. You start to pack up your things when a white gloved hand lands on your book and inches it just out of your grasp.

“I hope my friends aren’t being too loud for you, principessa?” The words roll off Terzo’s tongue with his heavy Italian accent. His eyes are devastating, one soft green and one piercing white, seemingly staring right through you, coupled with the stark black and white paint on his face. He appears to be middle aged, wrinkles adoring his handsome features. Your mouth opens to say something but the words dry up, caught off guard by his appearance. His raven hair seems to be expertly tousled, most of it slicked back with a few strands falling into his forehead and he wears an easy, charming smile. “Allow us to make it up to you, eh? Come sit with us and we’ll take care of your drinks for the rest of the afternoon.”

You peer over his shoulder and you’re met with another pair of mismatched eyes, one cool teal and the other a striking black with orange iris, scars along the same side of his face. His hair is a dark brown and slicked back with some gray streak, one hand carding through it while his other long fingers drum along the back of his seat. He looks unamused and uninterested in whatever is going on over at your table. The other man waves his equally long fingers at you, finding his caramel brown eyes and a more sinister grin plastered across his face. His hair is a light brown and is pushed back as well but there are small curls at the base of his neck and around his ears. He looks much more normal than the other too but there’s something dark about the way his eyes drag over your figure. You suck in a breath, all of them being attractive in their own way but it doesn’t make you feel any more at ease.
