I fucking love it when people make new art. like when they're still starting out, they don't know where they're going —but it's fun. it's fun and they're learning and when you ask them why, they don't.. know. they hadn't thought about it yet. it's just.. a silly little thing. a hobby. a pet. an acquaintance. they barely even know 'er.

but they slip you a rough draft, and I mean, a rough draft, and.. it's not very good. but it's the best they've ever done. it's a testament to every silly little step they took, all the fun they had. the toll it took. the anger, the embarrassment. the product. whether it's their first or their last, it's there. and I love it.

I'm not sure how long.. any of us have, at this point. But I hope that, as long as there's people, there's new art. I hope kids keep writing poetry. I hope adults do things they never had time for before. I hope someone gets to see it all —even if it's just the person making it.
