spn quotes: season two
i’m collecting a bunch of quotes from the show! my favorite lines, good points of characterization, etc. all organized by episode and character, and with timestamps!
w/ncest shippers get lost
season one.
1. IN MY TIME OF DYING
Dean—
I’ve done everything you have ever asked me. Everything. I’ve given everything I’ve ever had. Now you’re just gonna sit there and you’re gonna watch me die? I mean, what the hell kind of father are you? (11:14)
So you’re okay with dying? [Tessa: No, of course not. I just think, whatever’s gonna happen is gonna happen. It’s out of my control. It’s just...fate.] Hm. That’s crap. You always have a choice. You can either roll over and die, or you can keep fighting no matter what. (18:48)
There’s no such thing as an honorable death. My corpse is gonna rot in the ground, and my family is gonna die. (30:38)
[John: You know, when, uh...when you were a kid, I’d come home from a hunt, and after what I’d seen, I’d be...I’d be wrecked. And you...you’d come up to me, and you’d put your hand on my shoulder, and you’d look me in the eye, and you’d...you’d say, “It’s okay, Dad.” Dean, I’m sorry.] Why? [You shouldn’t have had to say that to me, I should’ve been saying that to you. You know, I put...I put too much on your shoulders. I made you grow up too fast. You took care of Sammy, you took care of me. You did that. And you didn’t complain, not once.] (37:27)
Sam—
How is revenge gonna help him? You're not thinking about anybody but yourself. It's the same selfish obsession! (13:17)
I don't know how to help you. But I'll keep trying, alright? As long as you keep fighting. I mean, come on, you can't...you can't leave me here alone with Dad, we'll kill each other, you know that. Dean, you gotta hold on. You can't go, man, not now. We were just starting to be brothers again. (28:36)
Misc—
Tessa: You'll stay here for years—disembodied, scared. And over the decades, it'll probably drive you mad. Maybe you'll even get violent. [Dean: What are you saying?] Dean, how do you think angry spirits are born? They can't let go, and they can't move on. And you're about to become one: the same thing you hunt. (31:15)
Azazel: If only your boys knew how much their daddy loved them. (32:15)
2. EVERYBODY LOVES A CLOWN
Dean—
[Ellen: I’m so sorry.] It’s okay. We’re alright. [Really. I know how close you and your dad—] Really, lady, I’m fine. (11:37)
[Sam: You ever notice Dad had a falling-out with just about everybody? Don’t get all maudlin on me, man.] What do you mean? [I mean this strong, silent thing of yours. It’s crap, I’m over it.] Oh my God. [This isn’t just anyone we’re talking about, this is Dad. I know how you felt about the man.] You know what? Back off, alright? Just because I’m not caring and sharing like you want me to— [No no no, that’s not what this is about, Dean. I don’t care how you deal with this, but you have to deal with it, man! Listen, I’m your brother, alright? I just wanna make sure you’re okay.] Dude, I’m okay! I’m okay, okay? I swear, the next person who asks me if I’m okay, I’m gonna start throwing punches. These are your issues. Quit dumping them on me. [What are you talking about?] I just think it’s really interesting, this sudden obedience you have to Dad. It’s like, “Oh, what would Dad want me to do?” Sam, you spent your entire life slugging it out with that man. I mean, hell, you—you picked a fight with him the last time you ever saw him, and now that he’s dead, now you want to make it right? Well, I’m sorry, Sam, but you can’t. It’s too little, too late. [Why are you saying this to me?] Because I want you to be honest with yourself about this! I’m dealing with Dad’s death! Are you? (29:48)
Sam—
[Dean: This case was your idea. By the way, why is that? You were awfully quick to jump on this job.] So? [It's just not like you, that's all. I thought you were hell-bent for leather on the demon hunt.] I don't know, I just think taking this job, it's what Dad would have wanted us to do. (16:57)
[Mr. Cooper: You see, this place is a refuge for outcasts, always has been, for folks that don't fit in nowhere else. But you two...you should go to school, find a couple of girls, have 2.5 kids. Live regular.] Sir, we don't want to go school, and we don't want regular. We want this. (22:34)
[Dean: I thought that once the demon was dead and the fat lady sings that you were gonna take off, head back to wussy state.] I'm having second thoughts. [Really?] Yeah. I think Dad would have wanted me to stick with the job. [Since when do you give a damn what Dad wanted? You spent half your life doing what he didn't want, Sam.] Since he died, okay? You have a problem with that? (23:27)
I'm sorry that the last time I was with him, I tried to pick a fight. I'm sorry that I spent most of my life angry at him. I mean, for all I know, he died thinking that I hate him. So you're right. What I'm doing right now, it is too little. It's too late. I miss him, man. And I feel guilty as hell. And I'm not all right, not at all. But neither are you. That much I know. (39:04)
3. BLOODLUST
Dean—
So I picked up this crossbow, and I hit that ugly sucker—silver-tipped arrow, right in his heart. Sammy’s waiting in the car, and me and my dad take the thing into the woods, burn it to a crisp. I’m sitting there, and I’m looking into the fire, I’m thinking to myself, “I’m 16 years old. Kids my age are worried about pimples, prom dates. I’m seeing things that they’ll never even know, never even dream of.” So right then, I just sort of.... [Gordon: Embraced the life?] Yeah. (16:16)
You’re always saying to yourself, “He’s indestructible. He’ll always be around. Nothing can kill my dad.” And just like that, he’s gone. I can’t talk about this to Sammy. No, I got to keep my game face on. But, uh...truth is, I’m not handling it very well. I feel like I have this— [Gordon: Hole inside you? And it just gets bigger and bigger and darker and darker? Good. You can use it. Keeps you hungry. Trust me, there’s plenty out there needs killing, and this will help you do it. Dean, it’s not a crime to need your job.] (18:32)
[Gordon: It’s all black-and-white. There’s no maybe. You find the bad thing, kill it. See, most people spend their lives in shades of gray. Is this right? Is that wrong? Not us.] Not sure Sammy would agree with you, but, uh. [Doesn’t seem like your brother’s much like us. I’m not saying he’s wrong, just different. You and me, we were born to do this. It’s in our blood.] (20:22)
[Sam: You know what? You slap on this big smile, but I can see right through it, ‘cause I know how you feel, Dean. Dad’s dead. And he left a hole, and it hurts so bad you can’t take it. But you can’t just fill up that hole with whoever you want to.] (27:47)
[Gordon: You’re not like your brother. You’re a killer, like me.] (37:08)
I wish we never took this job. It just jacked everything up. [Sam: What do you mean?] Think about all the hunts we went on, Sammy, our whole lives. [Okay.] What if we killed things that didn’t deserve killing. You know? I mean, the way Dad raised us. [Dean, after what happened to Mom...Dad did the best he could.] I know he did. But maybe he wasn’t perfect. And the way he raised us, to hate those things—and man, I hate them. I do. When I killed that vampire at the mill, I didn’t even think about it. Hell, I even enjoyed it. [You didn’t kill Lenore.] No, but every instinct told me to. I was gonna kill her. I was gonna kill them all. (40:20)
Sam—
[Gordon: Well, lighten up a little, Sammy!] He's the only one that gets to call me that. (15:05)
4. CHILDREN SHOULDN’T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS
Dean—
Going to visit Mom’s grave? She doesn’t even have a grave. There was no body left after the fire. [Sam: She has a headstone.] Yeah, put up by our uncle, a man that we’ve never even met. So you wanna go pay resects to a slab of granite put up by a stranger? Come on. [Dean, that’s not the point.] Well, them enlighten me, Sam. [It’s not about a body or a casket. It’s about her memory, okay? And after Dad, it just—it just feels like the right thing to do.] It’s irrational, is what it is. [Look, man, no one asked you to come.] Why don’t we swing by the roadhouse instead? I mean, we haven’t heard anything on the demon lately. We should be hunting that son-of-a-bitch down. [That’s a good idea! You should! Just drop me off, I’ll hitch a ride, and I’ll meet you there tomorrow.] Right. Stuck with those people, making awkward small talk until you show up. No thanks. (02:48)
[Sam: Look, maybe you’re imagining a hunt where there isn’t one, so you don’t have to think about Mom, or Dad. You wanna take another swing? Go ahead, if it’ll make you feel better.] I don’t need this crap. [Dean, where are you going?] I’m gonna go get a drink. Alone. (09:59)
Look, I get it. Okay? There are people that I would give anything to see again, but what gives you the right? [Sam: Dean.] [Dr. Mason: What are you talking about?] What’s dead should stay dead! (20:51)
[Sam: Dean, I don’t scare easy, but, man, you’re scaring the crap out of me.] Don’t be overdramatic, Sam. [You’re lucky this turned out to be a real case, ‘cause if it wasn’t, you would’ve just found something else to kill. You’re on edge, you’re erratic, except for when you’re hunting, ‘cause then you’re downright scary. You’re tailspinning, man! And you refuse to talk about it, and you won’t let me help you.] I can take care of myself, thanks. [No, you can’t! And you know what? You’re the only one who thinks you should have to. You don’t have to handle this on your own, Dean. No one can.] (21:44)
I’m sorry. [Sam: For what?] The way I’ve been acting. And for Dad. Well, he was your dad, too. It’s my fault that he’s gone. [What are you talking about?] I know you’ve been thinking it. So have I. Doesn’t take a genius to figure it out. Back at the hospital, I had a full recovery. It was a miracle. And five minutes later, Dad’s dead and the Colt’s gone. [Dean....] You can’t tell me there’s not a connection there. I don’t know how the demon was involved, I don’t know how the whole thing went down exactly, but Dad’s dead because of me, and that much I do know. [We don’t know that, not for sure.] Sam, you and Dad, you’re the most important people in my life. And now...I never should’ve come back, Sam, it wasn’t natural, and now look what’s come of it. I was dead, and I should’ve stayed dead. You wanted to know how I was feeling. So tell me, what could you possibly say to make that alright? (38:56)
Sam—
[Dean: Going to visit Mom's grave? She doesn't even have a grave. There was no body left after the fire.] She has a headstone. [Yeah, put up by our uncle, a man that we've never even met. So you wanna go pay your respects to a slab of granite put up by a stranger? Come on.] Dean, that's not the point. [Well, then, enlighten me, Sam.] It's not about a body or a casket. It's about her memory, okay? And after Dad, it just—it just feels like the right thing to do. (02:48)
You're tailspinning, man. And you refuse to talk about it, and you won't let me help you. [Dean: I can take care of myself, thanks.] No, you can't! And you know what? You're the only one who thinks you should have to. You don't have to handle this on your own, Dean. No one can. [Sam, if you bring up Dad's death one more time, I swear—] Please, Dean, it's killing you. Please. We've already lost Dad. We lost Mom. I've lost Jessica. And now I'm gonna lose you, too? (21:44)
5. SIMON SAID
Dean—
You know, one day I’d love to just sit down and eat something that I didn’t have to microwave at a minimart. (18:03)
[Sam: You know, I heard you before, Dean, when Andy made you tell the truth. You’re just as scared of this as I am.] That was mind control! It’s like—it’s like being roofied, man. That doesn’t count. [What?] No, I—I’m calling do-over. [What are you, 7?] Doesn’t matter. Look, we just gotta keep doing what we’re doing, find that evil son of a bitch and kill it. (36:06)
Sam—
[Dean: There's gonna be hunters there. I don't know if—if going in and announcing that you're some supernatural freak with a demonic connection is the best thing, okay?] So I'm a freak now? [You've always been a freak.] (04:14)
Demon came to them when they were kids. Now they're killing people. [Dean: We don't know what Andrew Gallagher is, okay? Could be innocent.] My visions haven't been wrong yet! [What's your point?] My point is, I'm one of them. [No, you're not.] Dean, the demon said he had plans for me and children like me. [Yeah?] Yeah, maybe this is his plan. Maybe we're all a bunch of psychic freaks. Maybe we're all supposed to be— [Killers?] Yeah. [So the demon wants you out there, killing with your minds, is that it? Oh, give me a break. You're not a murderer, Sam! You don't have it in your bones!] No? Last I checked, I kill all kinds of things. [Those things were asking for it. There's a difference.] (10:47)
Looks like I was right. [Dean: About what?] Andy. He's a killer after all. [No, he's a hero. He saved his girlfriend's life. He saved my life.] Bottom line, last night he wasted somebody. [Yeah, but he's not a foaming-at-the-mouth psycho. He was just—he was pushed into that.] Webber was pushed, too, in his own way. Max Miller was pushed. Hell, I was pushed by Jessica's death. [What's your point, Sam?] Right circumstances, everyone is capable of murder. Everyone. (35:28)
6. NO EXIT
Dean—
[Jo: You know, I’ve had it up to here with your crap.] Excuse me? [Your chauvinist crap. You think women can’t do the job.] Sweetheart, this ain’t gender studies. Women can do the job fine. Amateurs can’t. You got no experience! What you do have is a bunch of half-baked romantic notions that some barfly has put in your head. [And now you sound like my mother.] Oh, and that’s a bad thing? (09:56)
Jo, you got options. No on in their right mind chooses this life. My dad started me in this when I was so young. I wish I could do something else. [Jo: You love the job.] Yeah, but I’m a little twisted. [You don’t think I’m a little twisted, too?] Jo, you got a mother that worries about you, who wants something more for you. Those are good things. You don’t throw things like that away. They might be hard to find later. (10:24)
[Jo: What do you remember about your dad? I mean, what’s the first thing that pops into your head? Come on, tell me.] I was 6 or 7, and uh...he took me shooting for the first time. Bottles on a fence—that kind of things. I bull’s-eyed every one of them. And he would smile, like...I don’t know. [He must have been proud.] (16:13)
Sam—
Is this job as glamorous as you thought it would be? [Jo: Well, except for all the pee-your-pants terror, yeah. But that Theresa girl’s gonna live a life ‘cause of us. It’s worth it, isn’t it?] Yeah. Yeah, it is. (36:00)
Misc—
Ellen: I am your mother! I don't have to be reasonable! (03:06)
7. THE USUAL SUSPECTS
Dean—
My name is Dean Winchester. I’m an Aquarius. I enjoy sunsets, long walks on the beach, and frisky women. (21:59)
[Sam: Nice lady.] Yeah, for a cop. (41:19)
Sam—
[Diana: Then about a year ago, there was a fire in your apartment. One fatality—Jessica Moore, your girlfriend. After she died, you fell off the grid—left behind everything.] I needed some time off...to deal. So I’m taking a road trip with my brother. (03:49)
[Dean: What do you think, Scully?] I’m not Scully, you’re Scully. [No, I’m Mulder. You’re a red-headed woman.] (06:35)
8. CROSSROAD BLUES
Dean—
[Sam: We got to find out if anyone else struck any bargains around here.] Great. So we got to clean up these people’s mess for them? I mean, they’re not exactly squeaky clean. Nobody put a gun to their head and forced them to play “Let’s Make a Deal.” [So what, we should just leave them to die?] Somebody goes over Niagara in a barrel, you gonna jump in to try to save them? [Dean.] Alright. Fine. (14:44)
[Demon: You’d sacrifice your life for someone else’s. Like father, like son. (29:01)
[Demon: I’m not gonna put you out of your misery.] Yeah? Why not? [’Cause your misery is the whole point. It’s too much to watch. Knowing how your daddy died for you, how he sold his soul—I mean, that’s got to hurt. He’s all you ever think about. You wake up and your first thought is, “I can’t do this anymore.” You’re all lit up with pain. I mean, you loved him so much. And it’s all your fault. You blew it, Dean! I could’ve given you what you need.] What do I need? [Your father.] (30:36)
How could he do it? [Sam: He did it for you.] Exactly. How am I supposed to live with that? (38:14)
Sam—
How many people do you think Dad saved total? [Dean: That's not the point, Sam.] Evan Hudson is safe because of what Dad taught us. That's his legacy, Dean. Now we're still here, man, so we got to keep going. For him. (38:48)
Misc—
George: Listen, I get that you boys want to help, but sometimes a person makes their bed and they just got to lie down in it. (17:38)
9. CROATOAN
Dean—
Hey, look, man, I’m not happy about this, okay? But it's a tough job, and you know that. [Sam: It's supposed to be tough, Dean. We're supposed to struggle with this. That's the whole point.] What does that buy us? [A clear conscience, for one.] Well, it's too late for that. [What the hell has happened to you?] What? [You might kill an innocent man, and you don't even care. You don't act like yourself anymore, Dean. Hell, you know what, you're acting like one of those things out there.] (25:40)
[Sam: Go with them. This is your only chance.] Ah, you're not gonna get rid of me that easy. (31:17)
[Sam: Dean, I'm sick. It's over for me. It doesn't have to be for you.] No—[No, you can keep going.] Who says I want to? [What?] I'm tired, Sam. I'm tired of this job, this life, this weight on my shoulders, man, I'm tired of it. [So what, so you're just gonna give up? I mean, you're just gonna lay down and die? Look, Dean, I know this stuff with Dad had—] You're wrong. It's not about Dad. I mean, part of it is, sure— [Then what is it about?] (32:54)
I just think we should take a break from all this. Why do we got to get stuck with all the responsibility, you know? Why can't we live life a little bit? [Why are you saying all this? No no no no no, Dean. You're my brother, alright? So whatever weight you're carrying, let me help a little bit.] I can't. I promised. [Who?] Dad. (39:23)
Sam—
[Dean: Hey, look, man, I'm not happy about this, okay? But it's a tough job, and you know that.] It's supposed to be tough, Dean. We're supposed to struggle with this. That's the whole point. [What does that buy us?] A clear conscience, for one. (25:40)
You're my brother, alright? So whatever weight you're carrying, let me help a little bit. (39:38)
10. HUNTED
Dean—
He said that he...wanted me to watch out for you. Take care of you. [Sam: He told you that a million times.] Well, this time was different. He said that I had to...save you. [Save me from what?] He just said that I had to save you, and nothing else mattered and that if I couldn't, I'd.... [You'd what, Dean?] I'd have to kill you. He said that I might have to kill you, Sammy. (04:10)
[Sam: How could you not have told me this?] Because it was Dad and he begged me not to. [Who cares? Take some responsibility for yourself Dean! You had no right to keep this from me!] You think I wanted this? Huh? I wish to God he'd never opened his mouth. Then I wouldn't have to walk around with this screaming in my head all day! (05:05)
And you're pissed at me, and I get it. That's fine, I deserve it. But we lay low until we figure out our next move, okay? [Sam: Forget it.] Sam, please, man. Hey, please. Just give me some time. Give me some time to think, okay? I'm begging you here. Please, please. (06:12)
Come on, Ellen, please. Something bad could be going on here, and I swore I'd look after that kid. [Ellen: They say you can't protect your loved ones forever. Well, I say screw that. What else is family for?] (17:27)
Come on, man. I know Sam, okay? Better than anyone. He's got more of a conscience than I do. I mean, the guy feels guilty surfing the internet for porn. [Gordon: Maybe you're right, but one day, he's gonna be a monster.] How? Huh? How's a guy like Sam become a monster? [Beats me, but he will.] No, you don't know that! [I'm surprised at you, Dean. Getting all emotional. I'd heard you were more of a professional than this.] (29:15)
[Gordon: Look, I'm sympathetic. He's your brother, you love the guy. This has got to hurt like hell for you. But here's the thing. It would've wrecked him, but your dad, if it really came right down to it, he would have had the stones to do the right thing here. So you're telling me, you're not the man he is?] (30:24)
Screw the job. Screw it, man. I'm sick of the job anyway. I mean, we don't get paid, we don't get thanked. The only thing we get's bad luck. [Well, come on, dude, you're a hunter. I mean, it's what you're meant to do.] Oh, I wasn't meant to do anything. I don't believe in that destiny crap. (39:00)
[Sam: You can't run from this, and you can't protect me.] I can try. (39:27)
Sam—
[Dean: He said that I might have to kill you, Sammy.] Kill me? What the hell is that supposed to mean? [I don't know.] I mean, he must've had some kind of reason for saying it, right? I mean, did he know the demon's plans for me? Am I supposed to go dark side or something? What else did he say, Dean? [That's it, I swear.] How could you not have told me this? [Because it was Dad and he begged me not to.] Who cares? Take some responsibility for yourself Dean! You had no right to keep this from me! (04:46)
[Ellen: I wish I could blame the hell out of you boys. It'd be easier. Truth is, it's not your fault. Sam, none of it is.] (10:27)
[Gordon: You wouldn't shoot me, would you, Sammy? 'Cause your brother, he thinks you're some kind of saint.] Yeah, well, I wouldn't be so sure. (33:46)
[Gordon: You're no better than the filthy things you hunt.] *They tussle, Sam points a gun at him.* [Do it. Do it! Show your brother the killer you really are, Sammy.] It's Sam. (34:22)
I'm not gonna just ditch the job. (39:00)
[Dean: Oh, I wasn't meant to do anything. I don't believe in that destiny crap.] You mean you don't believe in my destiny. [Whatever.] Look, Dean, I've tried running before. I mean, I ran all the way to California and look what happened. You can't run from this, and you can't protect me. [I can try.] Thanks for that. Look, Dean, I'm gonna keep hunting. I mean, whatever's coming, I'm taking it head on, so if you really want to watch my back, then I guess you're gonna have to stick around. (39:13)
11. PLAYTHINGS
Dean—
[Sam: We gotta save as many people as we can.] Wow. That attitude is just way too healthy for me. I'm officially uncomfortable now, thank you. (05:16)
[Sam: I need you to watch out for me.] Yeah, I always do. [No no no no, you have to watch out for me, all right? And if I ever turn into something that I'm not...you have to kill me.] Sam.... [Dean, Dad told you to do it. You have to.] Yeah, well, Dad's an ass. He never should've said anything. I mean, you don't do that, you don't—you don't lay that kind of crap on your kids. [No, he was right to say it. Who knows what I might become? Even now, everyone around me dies.] Yeah, well, I'm not dying. Okay? And neither are you. Come on, sit down. [No. Please. Dean, you're the only one who can do it. Promise.] Don't ask that of me. (16:18)
[Sherwin: Well, would you be [happy], leaving the only home you ever knew?] I don't know. I never really knew one. (19:06)
Sam—
I told Ellen we'd think about checking it out. [Dean: You did?] Yeah. You seem surprised. [Yeah, it's just, you know. Not the patented Sam Winchester way, is it?] What way is that? [Just figured after Ava, there'd be, uh, you know, more angst and droopy music and staring out the rainy windows. I'll shut up now.] (04:27)
So I'm not giving up on her, but I'm not gonna let other people die, either. We gotta save as many people as we can. (05:09)
That guy who hung himself...I couldn't save him. [Dean: What are you talking about? You didn't know. You couldn't have done anything.] That's an excuse, Dean. I should have found a way to save him. I should have saved Ava, too. [Yeah, well, you can't save everyone. Even you said that.] No, Dean, you don't understand, alright? The more people I save, the more I can change. [Change what?] My destiny, Dean. (15:46)
I need you to watch out for me. [Dean: Yeah, I always do.] No no no no, you have to watch out for me, alright? And if I ever turn into something that I'm not...you have to kill me. [Dean: Sam....] Dean, Dad told you to do it. You have to. [Yeah, well, Dad's an ass. He never should've said anything. I mean, you don't do that, you don't—you don't lay that kind of crap on your kids.] No, he was right to say it. Who knows what I might become? Even now, everyone around me dies. [Yeah, well, I'm not dying. Okay? And neither are you. Come on, sit down.] No. Please. Dean, you're the only one who can do it. Promise. [Don't ask that of me.] Dean, please. You have to promise me. [I promise.] Thanks. Thank you. (16:18)
12. NIGHTSHIFTER
Dean—
Freaking cops. [Sam: They were just doing their job.] No, they’re doing our job, only they don’t know it, so they suck at it. (03:36)
[Henriksen: I know about your dad.] You don't know crap about my dad. [Ex-Marine, raised his kids on the road, cheap motels, backwood cabins. Real paramilitary survivalist type. I just can't get a handle on what type of wacko he was— white supremist, Timmy McVeigh, tomato, tomahto.] You got no right talking about my dad like that. He was a hero. [Yeah, right. Sure sounds like it.] (31:18)
Sam—
[Dean: When you told that poor son of a bitch to—what did you say?—”remand” the tapes that he copied? “Classified evidence of an ongoing investigation”? That’s messed up.] What, are you pissed at me? [No, I just think it’s a little creepy how good of a Fed you are.] (08:51)
Better to stay in the dark and stay alive. (08:51)
13. HOUSES OF THE HOLY
Dean—
Odd, yes. Supernatural, maybe. But angels? I don't think so. [Sam: Why not?] 'Cause there's no such thing, Sam. [Dean, there's ten times as much lore about angels as there is about anything else we've ever hunted.] Hey, you know what, there's a ton of lore on unicorns, too. In fact, I hear that they ride on silver moonbeams and they shoot rainbows outta their ass. [Wait, there's no such thing as unicorns?] That's cute. I'm just saying, man, there's some legends that you just file under “bullcrap.” [And you got angels on the ”bullcrap” list.] Yep. [Why?] 'Cause I've never seen one. [So what?] So I believe in what I can see. [Dean, you and I have seen things most people couldn't even dream about.] Exactly. With our own eyes—that's hard proof, okay? But in all this time, I have never seen anything that looks like an angel. And don't you think that if they existed that we would've crossed paths with them, or at least know someone that crossed paths with them? (06:17)
You know what? I get it. You've got faith. That's—hey, good for you. I'm sure it makes things easier. I'll tell you who else had faith like that. Mom. She used to tell me when she tucked me in that angels were watching over us. In fact, that was the last thing she ever said to me. [You never told me that.] What's to tell? She was wrong. There was nothing protecting her. There's no higher power. There's no God. I mean, there's just chaos and violence and random, unpredictable evil that comes out of nowhere and rips you to shreds. You want me to believe in this stuff? I'm gonna need to see some hard proof. You got any? (23:09)
Sam—
[Dean: What's next? Are you gonna start praying everyday?] I do. [What?] I do pray every day. I have for a long time. (19:50)
I wanted to believe. So badly. It's so damn hard to do this, what we do, all alone, you know? There's so much evil out in the world, Dean, I feel like I could drown in it. And when I think about my destiny, when I think about how I could end up.... [Dean: Yeah, well, don't worry about that, alright? I'm watching out for you.] Yeah, I know you are. But you're just one person, Dean. And I needed to think that there was something else watching, too, you know? Some higher power, some greater good. And maybe.... [Maybe what?] Maybe I could be saved. But, you know, that just clouded my judgement. And you're right. I mean, we got to go with what we know, with what we can see, with what's right there in front of our own two eyes. (37:54)
14. BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN
Dean—
[Meg!Sam: Then how the hell did I get here, Dean? What happened to me?] I don't know, all right? But you're...you're okay, and that's what matters. Everything else we can deal with. (02:51)
Sam, go wait in the car. [Meg!Sam: But, Dean—] Go wait in the car! (06:40)
What's going on with you, Sam, hm? 'Cause smoking, throwing bottles at people, I mean that sounds more like me than you. (07:51)
You know, I've tried so hard to keep you safe. [Meg!Sam: I know.] I can't. I'd rather die. [No. You'll live.] (15:53)
[Meg!Sam: What the hell's wrong with you, Dean? Are you that scared of being alone that you'd rather let Jo die?] (25:53)
This is my fight. I'm not getting your blood on my hands. That's just how it's gonna be. (31:28)
[Meg!Sam: Dean. Back from the dead. Getting to be a regular thing for you, isn't it? Like a cockroach. (34:13)
[Meg!Sam: All that I had to hold onto was that I would climb out one day and that I was gonna torture you, nice and slow, like pulling the wings off an insect. But whatever I do to you, it's nothing compared to what you do to yourself, is it? I can see it in your eyes, Dean. You're worthless. You couldn't save your dad, and deep down, you know that you can't save your brother. They'd have been better off without you.] (37:21)
[Sam: No matter what I did, you wouldn't shoot.] It was the right move, Sam, it wasn't you. [Yeah, this time. What about next time?] Sam, when Dad told me that I might have to kill you, it was only if I couldn't save you. Now, if it's the last thing I do, I'm gonna save you. (41:01)
Sam—
For the last few weeks, I've been having...I've been having these feelings. [Dean: What feelings?] Rage. Hate. And I can't stop it. It just gets worse. Day by day, it gets worse. [You never told me this.] I didn't want to scare you. (13:52)
[Dean: No one can control you but you.] Sure doesn't seem like that, Dean. It feels like no matter what I do, slowly but surely, I'm—I'm just becoming— [What?] Who I'm meant to be. I mean, you said it once yourself, Dean, I got to face up to who I am. (14:29)
I don't want to hurt anyone else. I don't want to hurt you. [Dean: You won't. Whatever this is, you can fight it.] No. I can't. Not forever. (15:16)
My head feels like it's on fire, alright? (25:21)
Misc:
Meg: Hell is like, uh...well, it's like hell. Even for demons. It's a prison made of bone and flesh and blood and fear. (36:42)
15. TALL TALES
Dean—
[Bobby: Come on, now, you're bickering like an old married couple.] No, see, married couples can get divorced. Me and him? We're like, uh, Siamese twins. [Sam: It's conjoined twins.] See what I mean? [Look, it...we've just been on the road for too long, tight quarters, all that.] (11:19)
[Sam: Dude, you know something? I put up with a lot from you.] What are you talking about? I'm a joy to be around. [Yeah? Your dirty socks in the sink, your food in the fridge?] What's wrong with my food? [It's not food anymore, Dean! It's Darwinism!] I like it. [And you know what? All I ask from you, the one thing, is that you don't mess with my stuff!] You done? [You know, how would you feel if I screwed with the Impala?] It'd be the last thing you ever did. (21:15)
Sam—
Dude, you know something? I put up with a lot from you. [What are you talking about? I'm a joy to be around.] Yeah? Your dirty socks in the sink, your food in the fridge? [What's wrong with my food?] It's not food anymore, Dean! It's Darwinism! [I like it.] And you know what? All I ask from you, the one thing, is that you don't mess with my stuff! (21:15)
16. ROADKILL
Dean—
You know, just once I'd like to round the corner and see a nice house. (16:14)
Me? I don't like [spirits]. And I sure as hell ain't making apologies for 'em. (20:08)
[Molly: Oh, thank God.] Call me Dean. (28:46)
Sam—
Spirits like Greeley are, uh...like wounded animals. Lost, in so much pain, that they lash out. [Molly: Why? Why are they here?] Well, there's some part of them that...that's keeping them here, like their remains, or um...unfinished business. [Unfinished business....] Yeah, uh, could be revenge. Could be love. Or hate. Whatever it is, they just hold on too tight. Can't let go. So they're trapped, caught in the same loops. Replaying the same tragedies over and over. [You sound almost sorry for them.] Well, they weren't evil people, you know? A lot of them were good, just...something happened to them. Something they couldn't control. (18:52)
[Dean: You think she's really going to a better place?] I hope so. [I guess we'll never know. Not until we take the plunge ourselves, huh?] Doesn't really matter, Dean. Hope's kind of the whole point. (38:23)
17. HEART
Dean—
[Sam: Dean, could you be a bigger geek about this?] I'm sorry, man, but what about a human by day, a freak animal killing machine by moonlight don't you understand? I mean, werewolves are badass. We haven't seen one since we were kids. (04:39)
[Sam: You go. I'll stay.] Forget that. You go after the creepy ex. I'm gonna hang here with the hot chick. [Dude, why do you always get to hang out with the girls?] 'Cause I'm older. [No, screw that. We settle this the old-fashioned way.] *Dean throws scissors while Sam throws rock.* [Dean, always with the scissors!] Shut up, shut up. Two out of three. *Dean throws scissors while Sam throws rock.* God! [Bundle up out there, all right?] (11:11]
Sammy, I got this one. I'll do it. [Sam: She asked me to.] You don't have to. (38:56)
Sam—
I'm not putting a bullet through some girl's chest who has no idea what's happening. [Dean: Sam, she's a monster and you're feeling sorry for her?] Maybe I understand her. (21:26)
18. HOLLYWOOD BABYLON
Dean—
[Sam: You know, I thought you hated being a PA.] I don’t know, it’s not so bad. I kind of feel like part of the team, you know? It’s good. (19:22)
Hey, we got to go check out Johnny Ramone’s grave when we’re gone here. [Sam: You want to go dig him up, too?] Bite your tongue, heathen! (23:25)
[Marty: He wrote a wackjob screenplay. There’s no pace, there’s no love interest. It’s all wackadoo exposition. I had to cut, like, 90 percent of it to make it readable, another 10 percent to make it good.] ...Should have kept Walter’s original script. It’s actually pretty good. (31:15)
Sam—
[Dean: I just figured that, you know, after everything that happened with Madison, you could use a little R&R, that’s all.] Maybe I want to work, Dean. Maybe it keeps my mind off things. (05:38)
19. FOLSOM PRISON BLUES
Dean—
Innocent people are dead—four, so far. [Sam: Yeah, innocent.] What, are you from Texas all of a sudden? Just 'cause these people are in jail doesn't mean they deserve to die. And if we don't stop this thing, people are gonna continue to die. We do the job wherever it takes us. (11:30)
[Sam: You're doing this for Deacon?] Damn right. [We barely even know the guy.] We know he was in the Corps with Dad. We know he saved Dad's life. We know we owe him. [Yeah, all right, but don't you think he's asking a little much?] Doesn't matter. We may not be saints, but we're loyal and we pay our debts. Now, that means something to me, and it ought to to you. (11:47)
[Sam: Dean, does it bother you at all how easily you seem to fit in here?] No, not really. (28:07)
Sam—
I hate this plan, Dean. [Dean: yeah, I got that the first ten times I heard it.] (05:12)
This is, without a doubt, the dumbest, craziest thing we’ve ever done, and that’s in a long, storied career of dumb and crazy. (10:58)
20. WHAT IS AND WHAT SHOULD NEVER BE
Dean—
When I was a kid, what did you always tell me when you put me to bed? [Mary: Dean, I don't understand—] Just answer the question. [I told you angels were watching over you.] (07:05)
Who'd have thought, Baby? We're civilians. (11:42)
That lawn looks like it could use some mowing. [Mary: You want to mow the lawn?] You kidding me? I'd love to mow the lawn. [Knock yourself out. You'd think you've never mowed a lawn in your life.] (13:08)
[Sam: I mean this whole warm, fuzzy, ecstasy-trip thing.] I'm just happy for you, Sammy. [Yeah, right. That's another thing. Since when do you call me “Sammy?” Dean, come on. We don't talk outside of holidays.] We don't? Well, we should. I mean, you're my brother. [”You're my brother?”] Yeah! [You know, that's what you said when you snaked my ATM card, or when you bailed on my graduation, or when you hooked up with Rachel Nave.] Who? [My prom date, on prom night.] Yeah, that does kinda sound like me. Well, hey, man, I'm sorry about all that. [No, look, it's all right, man, I just...you know, I'm not asking you to change, I just.... I don't know, I guess we just don't really have anything in common. You know?] Wait, whoa whoa whoa, yes we do. Yes we do. [What?] Hunting. [Hunting? I've never been hunting in my life, Dean.] Yeah, well, then we should go sometime. I think you'd be great at it. (17:51)
I can fix things with Sam. I can make it up to him. To everyone. [Carmen: Okay. What's gotten into you lately?] This isn't gonna make a lick of sense to you...but I kind of feel like I've been given a second chance. And I don't want to waste it. (19:58)
And there's this woman that's haunting me, I don't know why. I don't know what the connection is—not yet, anyway. It's like my old life is coming after me or something, you know, like it doesn't want me to be happy. Of course, I know what you'd say. Well, not the you that played softball, but you'd say, "Go hunt the djinn. It put you here, it can put you back. Your happiness or all those people's lives, no contest." Right? But why? Why is it my job to save these people? Why do I have to be some kind of hero? What about us, huh? What, Mom's not supposed to live her life? Sammy's not supposed to get married? Why do we have to sacrifice everything, Dad? (23:14)
I'm sorry that we don't get along. And I wish to hell I could stay and fix it. But I gotta do this. People's lives depend on it. (26:07)
[Djinn!Sam: Why'd you have to keep digging? Why couldn't you have left well-enough alone? You were happy.] [Djinn!Mary: Put the knife down, honey.] You're not real. None of it is. [It doesn't matter. It's still better than anything you had.] What? [It's everything you want. We're a family again. Let's go home.] I'll die. The djinn will drain the life out of me in a couple days. [But in here, with us, it'll feel like years, like a lifetime. I promise. No more pain, no more fear. Just love and comfort and safety. Dean, stay with us. Get some rest.] [Djinn!Jessica: You don't have to worry about Sam anymore. You get to watch him live a full life.] [Djinn!Carmen: We can have a future together, have our own family. I love you, Dean. Please.] [Djinn!Sam: Why is it our job to save everyone? Haven't we done enough? I'm begging you. Give me the knife.] I'm sorry. (34:47)
I gotta tell you, though, man, you know, you had Jess. Mom was gonna have grandkids. [Sam: Yeah, but Dean, it wasn't real.] I know. But I wanted to stay. I wanted to stay so bad. I mean, ever since Dad....all I can—all I can think about it how much this job has cost us. We've lost so much. And we've sacrificed so much. (40:43)
Sam—
[Dean: Get out of the car.] I'm going with you. [You're just gonna slow me down.] Tough. [This is dangerous and you could get hurt.] Yeah, and so could you, Dean. [Sam—] Look, whatever stupid thing you're about to do, you're not doing it alone, and that's that. [I don't understand, why are you doing this?] Because you're still my brother. [Bitch.] What are you calling me a bitch for? [You're supposed to say jerk.] What? [Nevermind.] (27:07)
Well, I'm glad we do [get along]. And I'm glad you dug yourself out, Dean. Most people wouldn't have had the strength. They would've just stayed. (40:25)
[Dean: We've lost so much. And we've sacrificed so much.] But people are alive because of you, Dean. It's worth it, it is. It's not fair, and, you know, it hurts like hell, but it's worth it. (41:24)
21. ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE, PART I
Dean—
I'm gonna take care of you. I'm gonna take care of you. I got you. That's my job, right? Watch out for my pain-in-the-ass little brother. (39:32)
Sam—
[Jake: By the way, I, uh, appreciate what you're doing here.] What am I doing? [Keeping calm, keeping them calm. Especially considering how freaked to hell you really are. I've been in some deep crap before myself. I know the look.] Want to know the truth? I got this brother, right? And he's always telling me how he's gonna watch out for me, how everything's gonna be okay, you know, kinda like I've been telling them. [Yeah.] I don't know if I believe it this time. (22:56)
22. ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE, PART II
Dean—
[Bobby: Don't you think maybe it's time...we bury Sam?] No. [We could maybe....] What? Torch his corpse? Not yet. [I want you to come with me.] I'm not going anywhere. [Dean, please.] Would you cut me some slack? [I just don't think you should be alone, that's all. I gotta admit, I could use your help. Something big is going down—end-of-the-world big!] Well, then let it end! [You don't mean that.] You don't think so? Huh? You don't think I've given enough? You don't think I've paid enough? I'm done with it. All of it. (02:16)
You know, when we were little, when you couldn't have been more than five, you just started asking questions. How come we didn't have a mom, why do we always have to move around, where'd Dad go when he'd take off for days at a time? I remember I begged you, "Quit asking, Sammy. Man, you don't want to know." I just wanted you to be a kid, just for a little while longer. I always tried to protect you, keep you safe. Dad didn't even have to tell me. It was just always my responsibility, you know? It's like I have one job—I had one job. And I screwed it up. I blew it. And for that, I'm sorry. I guess that's what I do. I let down the people I love. I let Dad down. And now I guess I'm just supposed to let you down, too? How can I? How am I supposed to live with that? What am I supposed to do? Sammy. What am I supposed to do? (06:27)
That's the same deal you give everybody else. [Demon: You're not everybody else. Why would I want to give you anything? Keep your gutter soul. It's too tarnished, anyway.] (11:08)
You almost died in there. I mean, what would I have.... You just take care of yourself for a little bit, huh? Just for a little bit. (16:37)
Which is why we gotta find this yellow-eyed son of a bitch. That's why I'm gonna kill him myself. I mean, I got nothing to lose now, right? (19:00)
[Bobby: What is it with you Winchesters, huh? You, your dad—you're both just itching to throw yourselves down the pit.] (19:18)
Dad brought me back, Bobby, I'm not even supposed to be here. At least this way, something good could come out of it, you know? It's like my life can mean something. [Bobby: What? And it didn't before? Have you got that low an opinion of yourself? Are you that screwed in the head?] I couldn't let him die, Bobby. I couldn't. He's my brother. [How is your brother gonna feel when he knows you're going to Hell? How'd you feel when you knew your dad went for you?] You can't tell him. You take a shot at me, whatever you gotta do, but please don't tell him. (19:27)
[Azazel: You saw what your brother just did to Jake, right? That was pretty cold, wasn't it? How certain are you that what you brought back is 100% pure Sam? You of all people should know that's what dead should stay dead. Anyway, thanks a bunch. I knew I kept you alive for some reason. Until now, anyway. I couldn't have done it without your pathetic, self-loathing, self-destructive desire to sacrifice yourself for your family.] (32:23)
[Sam: You shouldn't have done that. How could you do that?] Don't get mad at me. Don't you do that. I had to. I had to look out for you. That's my job. (38:45)
Sam—
I kind of can't believe it, Dean. I mean... our whole lives, everything... has been prepping for this, and now I...I kind of don't know what to say. (36:35)
[Dean: I had to look out for you. That's my job.] And what do you think my job is? [What?] You saved my life over and over. I mean, you sacrifice everything for me. Don't you think I'd do the same for you? You're my big brother. There's nothing I wouldn't do for you. And I don't care what it takes, I'm gonna get you out of this. Guess I gotta save your ass for a change. (38:57)

Home
I woke amid the smell of food.
I sat up on the bed, looked at the familiar furniture, then looked at the work clothes on my body. It took a while before I realized that I was at home.
MC: How did I get home…
I recalled what happened in the morning. After a while, I finally remembered that I had fallen dizzily into Zuo Ran’s arms.
I took my phone on the shelf at the head of the bed – it was already dinnertime.
MC: Xia Yan’s last call! My god, he must be worried to death!
I hurriedly dialed Xia Yan’s number back.
MC: I’m sorry, I’m sorry, Xia Yan, I’d fallen asleep so I didn’t pick up your calls the whole time.
As soon as the call went through I hastily apologized.
Xia Yan: I know. Before, I called your phone, and Zuo Ran picked up. I’m on the road to Rainbow River Village right now.
MC: Lawyer Zuo, at my house? Right, it seems that he sent me back.
Only now did I realize that the fragrance of food from downstairs seemed to be Zuo Ran making food.
Xia Yan: I’m sorry. I should’ve been by your side, protecting you.
MC: Don’t worry, I was just too tired. After sleeping, I’m all better.
MC: You and Lawyer Zuo are both worrying too much.
MC: I troubled Lawyer Zuo to make a meal for me – in a moment, I must properly thank him.
MC: Right, didn’t you go to find Youyou to get the clue in the password bucket? Why are you going to Rainbow River Village again? Didn’t you rest at all?
Xia Yan: The clue in the password cylinder wasn’t the proof that we thought it was. Instead, it’s the birthday present Kong Moli gave to Youyou.
Xia Yan: I’m going to Rainbow River Village to find Sun Heping to get documents.
Xia Yan: This time, I’m having a friend drive. This car belongs to him anyways.
Xia Yan: I wouldn’t dare to drive while tired – I even slept on the car.
MC: Documents?
Xia Yan: That’s right. Documents that, apparently, Kong Moli specially left with Sun Heping.
MC: Specially left with him, then could it be…
Xia Yan: I’m guessing that it might have to do with that laboratory of Heirson.
MC: Why did Sun Heping suddenly tell us that there was this document?
Xia Yan: Before I picked up his call, the city police station sent out people to go to Wang Han’s house to get evidence.
Xia Yan: Sun Heping must have guessed the results of the investigation, and felt that we were worthy of trust.
MC: But why did Kong Moli entrust important documents to Sun Heping?
MC: Looking at the two of them, they don’t have close relations.
Xia Yan: Before I went, I investigated Sun Heping’s detailed background information. I noticed that aside from a daughter who lives out of town, he actually also has a son.
Xia Yan: His son is also a reporter. 10 years ago, his son accidentally noticed a child trafficking ring in the middle of interviewing.
Xia Yan: To find out about this criminal transaction chain, his son snuck into the ring undercover.
Xia Yan: When his son obtained evidence that could bring the group of people to justice, because his identity was revealed, he was murdered.
Xia Yan: Not only that, but rumours were spread about his son being a human trafficker, so the villagers treated his son as an serious matter that must be kept secret.
Xia Yan: The Sun family members regarded his son as shameful and were unwilling to bring him up, but Sun Heping has always believed that his son was innocent.
Xia Yan: The trust between Kong Moli and Sun Heping might have been mysteriously, inexorably established by this similarity…
MC: …
MC: Xia Yan, tell Grandpa Sun that I will definitely get back justice for Kong Moli.
MC: I won’t let the tragedy that happened to his son reenact itself!
Xia Yan: I believe in you. You’ll definitely get it done.
After hanging up the phone, I saw that Zuo Ran had sent me a voice message.
Zuo Ran: I heard that you’ve awoken. Do you feel somewhat better?
Zuo Ran: I’ve finished making food. Remember to eat first, then work. Or, you can simply rest for today.
Zuo Ran: I’ve left Mu Ziyou’s power of attorney agreement on the coffee table. The indictment also has already been submitted.
Zuo Ran: This case should go into open trial after criminal procedures. It’s not too urgent.
Zuo Ran: It’s not convenient for me to stay at your house, so I’ll leave first. If there’s anything, call me.
MC: Thank you, Lawyer Zuo…
The air was filled with the taste of freshness, seeping in through my nose to the bottom of my heart.
In this occupation, Lawyer Zuo must sometimes see the uglier side of humanity.
Like Wang Han and Qiu Heng – for monetary profit, they did not hesitate to murder people who sincerely helped them.
And like Liu Hao and Zhao Yuncui, whose disregard, in their greed and jealousy, even catalyzed evil events.
But this is only a small percentage.
In life, what we encounter more of is the ordinary warmth found in a day with three meals. It’s the mutual sharing of meager resources in times of adversity.
From time to time, these good things can give me strength when I am crushed by darkness, with no way to gasp for a breath.
And it’s also these good things that stand by me from start to finish, so I can walk towards the light.
--
Two weeks before trial opens for the case of Heirson Health Products Company violating Kong Moli’s reputation…
--
Baldr Law Firm
Inside Baldr Law Firm’s meeting room, there was a cloud of worry and misery…
Liu Wei: I’m not taking it. Why should I have to take the case just because the lawsuit last time was taken by me?
Liu Wei: A sentence has already been pronounced for the case of Kong Moli’s murder. The two people who covered up Heirson’s crime have already been sentenced. The media have already reported on this.
Liu Wei: It’s clear that this reputation case cannot be won. I’m not going.
Cai Haoyu: If you don’t go, doesn’t that basically mean that we’re telling the whole world that Baldr Law Firm’s high-level lawyer fears Themis’s entry-level lawyer?
Liu Wei: Cai Haoyu, stop saying cool words. You lost to that woman last time, after all.
Cai Haoyu: That time was just a mistake for me!
Liu Wei: Then this time, go prove that you won’t make a mistake!
Cai Haoyu: Heirson isn’t my client. I’m not getting on there to drop my win rate!
On their side, Luo Yuhao knocked on the file folder. Cai Haoyu and Liu Wei shut up in an instant.
Luo Yuhao: No need to bring up “high-level lawyer” now. Do you not know where your gold badges come from?
Luo Yuhao: If we don’t keep trying, Zhai Xing will be able to successfully test for the high-level lawyer qualification. At that time, Themis will have two well-priced, genuine high-level lawyers.
Luo Yuhao: Our number-one throne will then have to be handed over.
Liu Wei: Then I can’t take this case even more.
Luo Yuhao: You are Qin Shan’s lawyer. Every year, you take such high commissions from him. Suddenly saying that you won’t take the lawsuit…
Luo Yuhao: If this gets out, will Baldr have a reputation to talk about?
Luo Yuhao: What if the opponent makes a mistake and gives you an opportunity? Plus, what lawyer hasn’t lost a lawsuit.
Liu Wei: That Zuo Ran might…
Cai Haoyu: Stop stop stop. Do you want to grow his ambition and destroy your own prestige?
Liu Wei snuck a glance at Luo Yuhao. Luo Yuhao stared at him icily, clearly also displeased with his unspoken words.
Liu Wei: Fine, I’ll take it, alright?
Liu Wei: I’ve sacrificed too much for our law firm.

0:05
Kids, I'm gonna tell you an incredible story ;
0:08
the story of how I met your mother.
0:11
Are we being punished for something ?
0:13
No.
0:13
Yeah, is this gonna take a while ?
0:15
Yes. 25 years ago, before I was Dad,
0:19
I had this whole other life.
0:25
It was way back in 2005.
0:28
I was 27, just starting to make it as an architect
0:31
and living in New York with Marshall, my best friend from college.
0:34
My life was good.
0:35
And then Uncle Marshall went and screwed the whole thing up.
0:38
Will you marry me ?
0:42
Yes. Perfect !
0:42
And then you're engaged. You pop the champagne.
0:45
You drink a toast.
0:45
You have sex on the kitchen floor.
0:47
Don't have sex on our kitchen floor.
0:49
Got it.
0:51
Thanks for helping me plan this out, Ted.
0:51
Dude, are you kidding ? It's you and Lilly.
0:54
I've been there for all the big moments of you and Lilly :
0:56
night you met, your first date, other first things.
1:03
Yeah, sorry. We thought you were asleep.
1:04
It's physics, Marshall.
1:06
If the bottom bunk moves, the top bunk moves, too.
1:10
My God.
1:12
You're getting engaged tonight.
1:16
Yeah. What are you doin' tonight ?
1:18
What was I doing ?
1:19
Here Uncle Marshall was taking the biggest step of his life.
1:22
And me ?
1:23
I'm calling up your Uncle Barney.
1:25
Hey, so you know how I've always had a thing for half-Asian girls ?
1:30
Well, now I've got a new favorite... Lebanese girls.
1:34
Lebanese girls are the new half-Asians.
1:36
Hey, you want to do somethin' tonight ?
1:38
Okay, meet me at the bar in 15 minutes. And suit up !
1:44
Where's your suit ?
1:47
Just once, when I say suit up, I wish you'd put on a suit.
1:50
I did that one time.
1:52
It was a blazer !
1:55
You know, ever since college it's been, Marshall and Lilly and me.
1:58
Now, it's gonna be Marshall and Lilly... and me.
2:02
They'll get married, start a family.
2:04
Before long, I'm that weird, middle-aged bachelor their kids call Uncle Ted.
2:10
I see what this is about.
2:12
Have you forgotten what I said to you the night we met ?
2:16
Ted, I'm gonna teach you how to live.
2:19
Barney. We met at the urinal.
2:22
Oh, right. Right.
2:22
Lesson one : lose the goatee.
2:25
It doesn't go with your suit.
2:26
- I'm not wearing a suit. - Lesson two : get a suit.
2:29
Suits are cool. Exhibit "A."
2:32
Lesson three : don't even think about getting married till you're 30.
2:37
30. Right. You're right.
2:39
I guess it's just, your best friend gets engaged,
2:41
you start thinking about that stuff.
2:42
I thought I was your best friend.
2:44
Ted, say I'm your best friend.
2:48
You're my best friend, Barney.
2:49
Good. Then, as your best friend,
2:51
I suggest we play a little game I like to call
2:53
- "Have you met Ted ?" - Wait. No, no, no.
2:54
We're not playing "Have you met Ted ?"
2:56
Hi, have you met Ted ?
2:57
Hi, I'm Ted.
3:00
Yasmine.
3:02
That's a very pretty name.
3:04
Thanks. It's Lebanese.
3:09
I'm exhausted.
3:11
It was finger-painting day at school,
3:13
and a five year-old boy got to second base with me.
3:17
Wow ! You're cooking ?
3:20
Yes, I am.
3:22
Aw...
3:23
Are you sure that's a good idea ?
3:26
After last time, you looked really creepy without eyebrows.
3:30
I can handle this.
3:32
I think you'll find I'm full of surprises tonight.
3:33
So, there's more surprises ? Like what ?
3:35
Marshall was in his second year of law school,
3:37
so he was pretty good at thinking on his feet.
3:40
Boogedyboo !
3:41
And that's all of 'em.
3:44
I'm gonna go... cook.
3:47
I'm so happy for Marshall, I really am.
3:49
I just couldn't imagine settling down right now.
3:51
So, do you think you'll ever get married ?
3:53
Well, maybe eventually...
3:55
some fall day, possibly in Central Park.
3:59
Simple ceremony. We'll write our own vows.
4:02
Band, no DJ. People will dance !
4:04
I'm not gonna worry about it !
4:07
Damn it, why did Marshall have to get engaged ?
4:09
Yeah, nothing hotter than a guy planning out his own imaginary wedding, huh ?
4:13
- Actually, I think it's cute. - Well, you're clearly drunk.
4:17
One more for the lady !
4:18
Oh, hey, look what I got.
4:24
Oh, honey ! Champagne.
4:28
Yeah.
4:31
No. You are too old to be scared to open a bottle of champagne.
4:36
- I'm not scared. - Then open it.
4:38
Fine.
4:39
Please open it ?
4:41
You are unbelievable, Marshall.
4:44
There are two big questions a man has to ask in life.
4:46
One, you plan out for months.
4:48
The other just slips out when you're half drunk at some bar.
4:51
Will you marry me ?
4:52
You wanna go out sometime ?
4:54
Of course, you idiot !
4:57
I'm sorry, Carl's my boyfriend.
5:02
'Sup, Carl ?
5:07
I promised Ted we wouldn't do that.
5:11
Did you know there's a Pop Tart under your fridge ?
5:14
No, but dibs.
5:16
Where's that champagne ?
5:19
I wanna drink a toast with my fiancée.
5:25
I don't know why I was so scared of this.
5:27
It's pretty easy, right ?
5:32
Why am I freaking out all of a sudden ?
5:34
This is crazy. I'm not ready to settle down.
5:35
How does Carl land a Lebanese girl ?
5:39
The plan has always been don't even think about it until you're 30.
5:41
Exactly. The guy doesn't even own a suit.
5:45
Plus, Marshall's found the love of his life.
5:47
Even if I was ready, which I'm not...
5:49
but if I was, it's, like, "Okay, I'm ready. Where is she ?"
5:57
And there she was.
6:05
It was like something from an old movie,
6:08
where the sailor sees the girl across the crowded dance floor,
6:11
turns to his buddy and says, "See that girl ?
6:15
I'm gonna marry her someday."
6:16
Hey, Barney, see that girl ?
6:19
Oh, yeah. You just know she likes it dirty.
6:22
Go say hi.
6:25
I can't just go say hi.
6:26
I need a plan.
6:28
I'm gonna wait until she goes to the bathroom,
6:29
then I'll strategically place myself by the jukebox...
6:31
Hi, have you met Ted ?
6:36
Let me guess... Ted.
6:41
Sorry, Lilly. I'm so sorry.
6:44
- Take us to the hospital. - Whoa, whoa, whoa.
6:46
Did you hit her ?
6:49
Hit me ? Please !
6:52
This guy can barely even spank me in bed for fun.
6:55
He's all like, "Oh, honey. Did that hurt ?"
6:58
And, I'm like, "Come on ! Let me have it, you pansy !"
7:00
- Wow, a complete stranger. - No, no, no, no ! It's okay.
7:04
Go on.
7:06
So, these, uh, spankings...
7:07
you in pajamas or au naturel ?
7:11
So, what do you do ?
7:13
I'm a reporter for Metro News One.
7:15
Well, kind of a reporter.
7:17
I do those dumb little fluff pieces at the end of the news.
7:19
You know, like, um...
7:21
monkey who can play the ukulele.
7:24
I'm hoping to get some bigger stories soon.
7:26
Bigger, like, uh... gorilla with an upright bass ?
7:29
Sorry. You're really pretty.
7:34
Oh, your friends don't seem to happy.
7:37
Yeah, see, the one in the middle just got dumped by her boyfriend.
7:39
So, tonight, every guy is "the enemy."
7:42
You know if it'll make your friend feel better,
7:43
you could throw a drink in my face. I don't mind.
7:46
She would love that !
7:47
And it does look fun in the movies.
7:50
Hey, you wanna have dinner with me Saturday night ?
7:52
Oh, I can't.
7:53
I'm going to Orlando for a week on Friday.
7:56
Some guy's attempting to make the world's biggest pancake.
7:58
Guess who's covering it ?
8:00
That's gonna take a week ?
8:01
Yeah, he's gonna eat it, too. It's another record.
8:03
Hey ! What's takin' so long ?
8:06
Uh, I know this is a long shot, but how 'bout tomorrow night ?
8:09
Yeah. What the hell ?
8:17
Jerk !
8:20
That was fun.
8:22
De... wait for it... nied !
8:26
Denied !
8:28
We're goin' out tomorrow night.
8:29
I thought we were playin' laser tag tomorrow night.
8:32
Yeah, I was never gonna go play laser tag.
8:36
The next night, I took her out to this little bistro in Brooklyn.
8:41
That is one badass blue French horn.
8:44
Yeah.
8:45
Sort of looks like a Smurf penis.
8:48
Son, a piece of advice :
8:51
when you go on a first date, you really don't wanna say "Smurf penis."
8:55
Girls don't ordinarily like that.
8:57
But this was no ordinary girl.
9:04
Lilly ?
9:07
How long have you been sitting there ?
9:10
Stupid eye patch.
9:13
Mom, Dad, I have found the future Mrs. Ted Mosby.
9:19
Marshall, how have I always described my perfect woman ?
9:21
Now, let's see... she likes dogs ?
9:24
I've got five dogs.
9:25
She drinks scotch ?
9:27
I love a scotch that's old enough to order its own scotch.
9:29
Can quote obscure lines from Ghostbusters ?
9:31
Ray ! When someone asks you if you're a god, you say "Yes !"
9:36
And I'm saving the best for last.
9:39
Do you want these ? I hate olives.
9:41
She hates olives ! Awesome !
9:43
The olive theory.
9:44
The olive theory is based on my friends Marshall and Lilly.
9:48
He hates olives, she loves them.
9:50
In a weird way, that's what makes them such a great couple.
9:52
Perfect balance.
9:53
You know, I've had a jar of olives just sitting in my fridge forever.
9:59
I could take 'em off your hands.
10:02
They're all yours.
10:05
Oh, it is on !
10:07
It is on till the break of dawn.
10:10
But wait.
10:12
It's only the break of 10:30. What happened ?
10:16
I gotta get one of those blue French horns for over my fireplace.
10:19
It's gotta be blue. It's gotta be French.
10:21
- No green clarinet ? - Nope.
10:22
Come on. No purple tuba ?
10:24
It's a Smurf penis or no dice.
10:26
There you are !
10:28
We got a jumper.
10:29
Some crazy guy on the Manhattan Bridge.
10:31
Come on. You're coverin' it !
10:33
Um... all right. I'll be right there.
10:37
I'm sorry.
10:39
I had a really great time tonight.
10:41
Yeah.
10:42
So ?! Did you kiss her ?
10:45
No. The moment wasn't right.
10:48
Look, this woman could actually be my future wife.
10:50
I want our first kiss to be amazing.
10:52
Aw, Ted, that is so sweet.
10:55
So you chickened out like a little bitch.
10:58
What ? I did not chicken out.
11:01
You know what ?
11:03
I don't need to take first kiss advice from some pirate
11:04
who hasn't been single since the first week of college.
11:07
Anyone who's single would tell you the same thing,
11:09
even the dumbest single person alive.
11:12
And if you don't believe me, call him.
11:15
Hey, loser.
11:17
How's not playing laser tag ?
11:18
Because playing laser tag is awesome !
11:21
- Oh, I killed you, Conner ! - Don't make me get your mom !
11:23
Hey, listen. I need your opinion on something.
11:24
Okay, meet me at the bar in 15 minutes.
11:27
And suit up !
11:29
So, these guys think I chickened out.
11:32
What do you think ?
11:33
I can't believe you're still not wearing a suit.
11:37
She didn't even give me the signal.
11:39
What, is she gonna, she gonna bat her eyes ayou in Morse code ?
11:43
"Ted... kiss me." No ! You just kiss her !
11:47
Not if you don't get the signal.
11:52
Did Marshall give me the signal ?
11:53
No ! I didn't. I swear.
11:58
But, see, at least tonight,
11:59
I get to sleep knowing Marshall and me,
12:01
never gonna happen.
12:02
You should have kissed her.
12:04
Oh, I should have kissed her.
12:06
Well, maybe in a week when she gets back from Orlando.
12:08
A week ? That's like a year in hot girl time.
12:11
She'll forget all about you.
12:13
Mark my words... you will never see that one again.
12:15
There she is.
12:17
Ooh ! She's cute. Hey, Carl, turn it up.
12:20
...persuaded him to reconsider.
12:22
At which point, the man came down off the ledge,
12:24
giving this bizarre story a happy ending.
12:28
- Reporting from Metro One News... - Guy didn't jump.
12:31
I'm gonna go kiss her.
12:33
Right now.
12:35
Look, dude. It's midnight.
12:37
As your future lawyer, I'm gonna advise you that's freakin' crazy.
12:39
I never do anything crazy.
12:41
I'm always waiting for the moment, planning the moment.
12:44
Well, she's leaving tomorrow.
12:45
This may be the only moment I'm gonna get.
12:47
I gotta do what that guy couldn't.
12:49
I gotta take the leap !
12:51
Okay, not a perfect metaphor,
12:52
'cause for me it's fall in love and get married,
12:54
and for him it's... death.
12:57
Actually, that is a perfect metaphor.
13:00
By the way, did I congratulate you two ?
13:04
I'm doing this.
13:05
Let's go.
13:07
- Word up. - We're coming with you.
13:09
Barney ?
13:11
All right, but under one condition.
13:15
Look at you, you beautiful bastard. You suited up !
13:18
This is totally going in my blog !
13:21
Stop the car.
13:23
Uh, pull over right here.
13:24
I gotta do something.
13:27
Excuse me. Pardon me. Just a sec'.
13:30
Enjoy your coffee.
13:32
Go ! Go ! Go !
13:36
Everybody brings flowers.
13:45
Okay.
13:46
Moment of truth.
13:50
Wish me luck.
13:51
Ted's gonna get it on with a TV reporter.
13:54
"This just in." Okay.
13:59
Kiss her, Ted ! Kiss her good !
14:01
Kiss the crap outta that girl !
14:05
Marshall, remember this night.
14:08
When you're the best man at our wedding and you give a speech,
14:11
you're gonna tell this story.
14:13
Why does he get to be the best man ?
14:15
I'm your best friend !
14:20
As I walked up to that door, a million thoughts raced through my mind.
14:22
Unfortunately, one particular thought did not.
14:24
I've got five dogs.
14:25
Not good. Not good.
14:27
- No ! - Get back in there !
14:29
You're wearing a suit !
14:34
Ted ?
14:36
Hi.
14:39
I was just, uh...
14:45
Come on up.
14:49
He's in.
14:51
So...
14:53
Ranjit, you must have done it with a Lebanese girl ?
14:56
Okay, that's my Barney limit.
14:59
I'm gonna see if that bodega has a bathroom.
15:01
Actually, I'm from Bangladesh.
15:05
The women hot there ?
15:07
Here's a picture of my wife.
15:10
A simple "no" would have sufficed.
15:14
She's lovely.
15:17
So, Ted, what brings you back to Brooklyn at 1:00 in the morning in a suit ?
15:23
I was just hoping to...
15:26
get those olives...
15:28
that you said I could have.
15:29
Would you like those olives with some gin and vermouth ?
15:32
Are you trying to get me drunk ?
15:38
For starters.
15:47
So, Marshall, this olive theory, based on you and Lilly ?
15:52
You hate olives.
15:54
Lilly loves 'em. You can't stand 'em.
15:56
Yeah. Hate olives.
15:57
Two weeks ago, Spanish bar on 79th street, dish of olives, you had some... what up ?
16:04
You have to swear that this does not leave this cab.
16:08
- I swear. - I swear.
16:12
On our first date, I ordered a Greek salad.
16:15
Lilly asked if she could have my olives.
16:17
- I said, "Sure. I hate olives." - But, you like olives.
16:22
Well, I was 18, okay ? I was a virgin.
16:24
Been waitin' my whole life for a pretty girl to want my olives.
16:28
Marshall, I'm gonna give you an early wedding present.
16:32
Don't get married.
16:42
I think I like your olive theory.
16:45
I think I like your new French horn.
16:48
I think I like your nose.
16:52
I think I'm in love with you.
16:53
What ?! What ?! What ?!
16:57
Come on, man, you said your stomach's been hurting, right ?
16:59
You know what that is.
17:00
Hunger.
17:02
You're hungry for experience.
17:04
Hungry for something new.
17:06
Hungry for olives.
17:07
But you're too scared to do anything about it.
17:10
Yeah, I'm scared, okay ?
17:13
But, when I think of spending the rest of my life with Lilly...
17:17
committing, forever, no other women...
17:20
doesn't scare me at all.
17:22
I'm marrying that girl.
17:26
Lilly.
17:28
Lilly, I like olives.
17:31
We'll make it work.
17:44
So, Orlando. You gonna hit Disneyworld ?
17:51
You love me ?!
17:53
Why did I say that ? Who says that ?
17:56
I should just go.
17:58
Hold on.
17:59
Wait a minute.
18:02
Promised you these.
18:05
Olives. Thanks. I love you.
18:07
What is wrong with me ?
18:11
Why are we still sitting here ?
18:13
Let's go. We can still make last call.
18:14
What do you say, Lil ?
18:15
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum ?
18:20
'Cause you're a pirate.
18:22
Okay, eye patch, gone.
18:25
And we can't just abandon Ted.
18:27
If it doesn't go well up there, he's gonna need some support.
18:30
It's been, like, 20 minutes.
18:32
You think they're doin' it ?
18:33
You think they're doin' it in front of the dogs ?
18:34
Doggy style.
18:36
Hey, there was a girl in college, she had this golden retriever...
18:38
Okay, we can go to the bar. Just stop talking.
18:41
Hit it, Ranjit.
18:47
So, when you tell this story to your friends,
18:49
could you avoid the word "psycho ?"
18:52
I'd prefer. "eccentric."
18:55
Good night... psycho.
19:01
Great.
19:03
Um, how do I get to the F train ?
19:05
Oh, um, two blocks that way and take a right.
19:11
You know what ?
19:15
I'm done being single.
19:17
I'm not good at it.
19:19
Look, obviously, you can't tell a woman you just met you love her.
19:22
But... it sucks that you can't.
19:27
I'll tell you something, though.
19:28
If a woman... not you, just some hypothetical woman...
19:32
were to bear with me through all this,
19:34
I think I'd make a damn good husband.
19:36
Because, that's the stuff I'd be good at,
19:38
stuff like making her laugh and being a good father.
19:43
And walking her five hypothetical dogs.
19:47
Being a good kisser.
19:50
Everyone thinks they're a good kisser.
19:51
Oh, I've got references.
19:54
Good night, Ted.
20:01
And I'm a good handshaker.
20:04
That's a pretty great handshake.
20:09
And that was it.
20:12
I'll probably never see her again.
20:15
What ?
20:17
That was the signal.
20:18
That long, lingering handshake ? You should have kissed her.
20:23
There's no such thing as "the signal."
20:25
But, yeah, that was the signal.
20:28
Signal.
20:30
Ah, Carl, thank you.
20:32
Something I gotta do.
20:35
By the way, you should have kissed her.
20:36
Carl ! You guys weren't there.
20:41
I am so turned on right now.
20:44
Guys, trust me.
20:46
I've seen the signal.
20:47
That was not the signal.
20:49
Yeah, Ted, we're not on you anymore.
20:52
- To my fiancée. - To the future.
20:55
To one hell of a night !
21:00
That was not the signal.
21:04
I asked her about it years later.
21:06
And, yeah, that was the signal.
21:08
I could have kissed her.
21:10
But that's the funny thing about destiny.
21:12
It happens whether you plan it or not.
21:14
I mean, I never thought I'd see that girl again,
21:16
but it turns out I was just too close to the puzzle
21:19
to see the picture that was forming.
21:20
Because, that, kids, is the true story of how I met your Aunt Robin.
21:26
Aunt Robin ?
21:28
I thought this was how you met mom !
21:30
Will you relax ? I'm getting to it.
21:32
Like I said, it's a long story.

TAKE BACKS ANSWER 1-50 BITCH
She was all specific until she opened her inbox and saw I dared her to answer all 50 and came back at me like this
The Basics
1. Do you listen to music when you write?
Sometimes, but like… I don’t write now so dhfaoujfa a bitch wouldn’t know anymore.
2. Are you a pantser or plotter?
Pantser turned plotter.
3. Computer or pen and paper?
Both, true anarchy is having 8 drafts of the beginning done in pen and paper that you barely look at and writing the end scene in four different word docs.
4. Have you ever been published, or do you want tobe published?
I want to be I guess? I MEAN I DON’T WRITE ANYMORE SO WHAT’S THERE TO BE PUBLISHED!?? :a manuscript of the internal warfare between my desire to write and being sucks into my ongoing maladaptive daydream about being a fully-fledged, critically acclaimed author.
5. How much writing do you get done on an averageday?
Oh, nothing to phenomenal, about 0 words per day.
6. Single or multiple POV?
Multiple, third person.
7. Standalone or series?
Series, I don’t know how to end a story line… it just keeps going… on and on and on and o-…
8. Oldest WIP
Probably some type of HP v Three Ninja’s crossover fan-fiction, it’s on a floppy disc somewhere.
9. Current WIP
To paranoid to post ANYTHING about it online, despite the fact that no one gives a shit.
10. Doyou set yourself deadlines?
PFFT, what do you think?
The Specifics11. Booksand/or authors who influenced you the most
The usual suspects I guess? Stephen King, JM Barrie, Lewis Carroll, JK Rowling, etc… But, tbh, it was movies that got me first into writing because I couldn’t fucking read back in the day.
12. Describeyour perfect writing space
I feel like I’ve answered this before. Though now I think I’d change my answer to anywhere, as long as I felt I wasn’t going to be interrupted by people, the need to eat and/or drink, bathroom breaks, back and/or hand pains, or the ever-present creeping feeling that I should be doing something else.
13. Describeyour writing process from idea to polished
I watch a movie/read a book/hear a story, then I schedule it in for my next maladaptive daydream and re work it, then I start writing, realise I want to change the perspective, then I start writing that, then I realise I want to change character traits/relationship, then I start writing that, the I realise I know nothing about the world, so I start researching and brainstorming and once that happens I lose all will and motivation and go back to constantly reworking it in maladaptive daydreams that spiral so far from the original Idea I can no longer remember it and at this point I’m to scared to look at it again…
14. Howdo you deal with self-doubts?
Not Well.
15. Howdo you deal with writer’s block?
N O T W E L L.
16. Howmany drafts do you need until you’re satisfied with a project?
Siri, how do you type the infinity symbol?
17. Whatwriting habits or rituals do you have?
Bad ones.
18. Ifyou could collaborate with anyone, who would it be, and what would you writeabout?
I don’t read, NEXT QUESTION.
19. Howdo you keep yourself motivated?
…
20. Howmany WIPs and story ideas do you have?
S̶̡͚̲̬͇͇̮͐͐̈́́͊̌̐̏͗̕̕͘i̶͙̽̃̀̎̑̎̋͠ŗ̶͚͓̦̭̥̟̗̩̤̖̅̌̓̊̀̃̅̍̆͆͜ͅi̷͕̇̚,̵̧̡̗̯̝̯̭̳͎͚̠̺̓̌̈̅̀̉͌́͑̊͑͠ ̷̰̠͙̅̆͐̔ḧ̶̢̝͔̞̮͔̣̥͍̪̘̝̹́͂̆̔̐̊̄̎͋̂͋̒͝ŏ̸̼̦͔̬̜̻͊͂̒͒̈́͑͋͋̽͊̕w̴̙̞̫̅̓̎͆̔̀̑̀̀͘̚͠ͅ ̷͚̪̻̥͉̼͕͔̃͗͂̉͒̒͋̾̏̒̒͑͘͜d̶̛̛̟̈́̋̌̈́͂̄̄̍͘͝͝ö̷̖̈͆͂̂̈́̄͂͐̒͘͘ ̴̣̇̊͋̃͒̾̀̌̉͊̉͑͝y̸̺̜̤͇̔̎̅͑̏̋̕ͅŏ̵̬̬͔̥̗̎̑͋̀̒͆̓̍̌͌ử̵͎͙̱̤͊̃ ̵̠̣͙̝̠̳̻͓́̾͆̓ͅt̷͍̣̘͕̣͎̣̏̀̃̔̑̏́͆̾͐̓͜͝͝y̴̡̧̛̥̼̯͚̝̗͗̎̈́̀̊̌̎͒̔ͅp̴͇͇̼̯̹̏̽̓̔͊̃́̍̑͛͂̒ě̶̹͚͔̼̰̤̦̟̇̉̒̚͘͘ͅͅ ̵̙͎́̈́̽͂̂̽͋̚ṭ̵̛̛͈͇̇̏̔̿̌̏ḩ̵̢͕̜̬̳̻͙̹̻̟̝̓̎̏e̸̡̝̫̩̣̦͉̺͎̺͈͑̀͋͗̄͊ ̵̠͖̉̎̀̿̎̽̾i̸̜̟̥͎͖͓̒̉̽̄̊͊͜n̶̲̥̦̺̤͂̐f̶͍̰̺͍̖̑̃i̴̯̯͌͒͑͛́̈́̀̄̄͛͘͝ǹ̶̢̜̙͚͖̞̟̻̙̱̲̠͛͐̾̓̑͊̐̋̇͗͘͠i̶̢̨̨̭̩͕͈̊͌̾̃̄̑̎̊̈́̋͘ť̸̝̼̹̟͇̼̖̫̙̲̖͆̎̽͒̎̇̍̐̌͗́ỳ̴̡̟̝̠̫̘ ̸̣̙̼͙͚̹̦̄̐̆̓̅͋̈͝s̴̤̤̑̓͊̽͌̐y̴̦̦̝̪͑̈́̔̓͒̄̕ͅm̶̧̫̠̗͎̱̲̝̬̼̭̘̓̏̍͒̋̀̄̄̇͠͝ͅb̶̨̛̞̭̰͉͛̿̾ō̶̖̤l̶͓̲͌̑̉̄͘͝?̶̨͕̪̿̍̒͒͘͝
The Favourites21. Whois/are your favourite character(s) to write?
Character whose purpose I know from the get go, so there’s no dicking around about non-sensical things because you’re tryna fill the page.
22. Whois/are your favourite pairing(s) to write?
I don’t think I’ve ever comfortably or consistently written two character in the same room.
23. Favouriteauthor
I usually don’t consistently enjoy someone’s work enough to like the whole person, I also rarely even care?
24. Favouritegenre to write and read
Anything with fantastical elements, love that magic shit.
25. Favouritepart of writing
At this point actually progressing in my story would be so miraculous I’d keel over and die.
26. Favouritewriting program
?? I use scrivener, if that’s what you mean.
27. Favouriteline/scene
28. Favouriteside character
All my characters are MCs because I don’t know how to prioritise.
29. Favouritevillain
Chillling, if I could get arOUND TO WRITING HER.
30. Favouriteidea you haven’t started on yet
Bold of you to assume I don’t immediately abandon 5-10 year long projects in favour of something new and shiny.
The Dark
31. Leastfavourite part of writing
The fact that I can’t thought-project my world into a word doc… Honestly, so not user friendly.
32. Mostdifficult character to write
All of them.
33. Haveyou ever killed a main character?
All of them.
34. Whatwas the hardest scene you ever had to write?
All of them.
35. Whatscene/story are you least looking forward to writing?
A̶̢̨̜̭͇̻̲͈͌̈́̏̿̇͊̑ͅͅl̴̡̤͈̫͈̊͐̈̽l̵̩͖͉͖͆ ̵̢̤͕̻̏̿͂̋̍̑̄́o̸̘̗͉̳̻̩͇͈̙̤͙̳̅̎̿̉f̸̛͈̯̫͇̣̜̬͍͉͈̜̅̑̾ ̷̛̲̰͒̀̏̾̀̍̚̚͜t̷̟͎̞̥͊̆̇̈́̀̋͝h̶̨̰̮̥̠̣͓̹̲̳̱̫̳̉̂ͅe̴͓̠͍̍͒̅̏̒͗̔̆͘ͅḿ̸̡̧̝̜͇̯̣͚͔̝̗̜͚͑ͅ.̸̧̫̥̪̠̟̠̭̮̞̰͈̙̂͂͌̈́̂̿ͅ

37. Firstsentence or your current WIP
[insert charac name here]’s body slammed down heavily, face first
38. Weirdeststory idea you’ve ever had
Honestly, they could all take the cake. I’m weird… have you ever seen me away from my writing resources? No. Have you ever seen any of my actual writing? No, that’s weird, I’m a weirdo.
39. Weirdestcharacter concept you’ve ever had
Read the above answer^^
40. Sharesome backstory for one of your characters
One character is thought of to be as old as time itself, maybe even older. He forgot his original birth name, came to a stable and asked one of the workers what their name was. Upon hearing it he went, “I like that, it’s mine.” and killed the worker and when the stable owner came to see what happened and asked the living character what their name was, living character gave the one belonging to the worker he’d just killed and walked off.
The Rest of It41. Anyadvice for new/beginning/young writers?
I am in no position to be giving any such thing, honestly, the real question is has anyone got any advice foR ME?!?!
42. Howdo you feel about love triangles?
Hard to do right, can’t write them myself because… (see answer to q:27)
43. Whatdo you do if/when characters don’t follow the outline?
See where they’re going and if it’s not funky fresh: re-write the entire scene with them on a titanium leash
44. Howmuch research do you do?
Way more now that I no longer write.
45. Howmuch world building do you do?
Way more now that I no longer write.
46. Doyou reread your own stories?
Way more now that I no longer write.
47. Bestway to procrastinate
Never write.
48. What’sthe most self-insert character/scene you’ve ever written?
All of them, I’d love to be a souped-up, immortal child running around in a magical forest with my friends.
49. Whichcharacter would you most want to be friends with, if they were real?
Either one of the chill ones or one of the so NOT CHILL ones, depends on how much drama I want at any given time.
50. [Otherquestion—ask me anything]
??? Never ask me or my son a question ever again.
#im legit rereading this and cackling#where did this funniness come from?#writers ask#wip#writer#writing#books#honestly#i'll never be this funny again tbh

reaction post typed while watching SPN 13x23 “Let The Good Times Roll”
idk what you guys thought but I LIKED IT and here’s why!!!! (EXCEPT THAT THING WITH THE KNIFE??? WHAT THE HELL???)
04:02pm
so it only took 45 minutes to an hour to find somewhere to watch this, my thanks to @trisscar368 for helping me out!!!
eventually found it streaming rather than downloading, would not recommend but HEY IT WORKS (for now) [http://gorillavid.in/zbtu97hfei65]
this feels like it’s 2008 all over again, trying to watch doctor who after school
OKAY LET’S GO
i’ve seen a bunch of major spoilers but i know cas doesn’t die so i’m good. apparently it’s A Boring Episode but also MICHEAL and LUCIFER so
idk idk let’s just watch the thing and find out what happens
-
04:04
rowena: is there, i dunno, music? CARRY ON MYY WAYWAR---
fuck
-
04:09pm
feels good having bobby there
-
BOBBY’S REACTION TO TRUMP IS THE BEST EVER
“and you call where WE come from ‘apocalypse world’?”
-
04:11
cas: “they’re talking about whether kylie jenner would make a good mother. consensus is no”
hey give her a chance
i mean i know nothing about her but she seems... teachable?
-
dean: “yeah well, that’s why i’m a chloe man”
WHOOOOOP dean loves his girly trash tv i see
-
brown werewolf: “now that is why i’m a chloe man”
dead brown person alert :|
how naive i was to think he might be left alive because he got a speaking line and made himself a dean parallel with that single line
-
04:16
mary: “do you really like the rain?”
bobby: “when it’s this beautiful, i do”
lest anyone forget bobby is a gentle down to earth sweetheart
soft papa bear
-
“rowena and charlie are road-tripping it through the south-west”
WOULD WATCH THAT SPINOFF
but #savewaywardsisters first
-
04:19
dean: “can you imagine? you, me, cas, toes in the sand, couple of those little umbrella drinks, matching hawaiian shirts, obviously”
PLEASE
“....some hula girls“
mmmm *squints at how that part was said after a....... pause, off-screen with the camera on sam*
-
04:24
dean to jack: “it’s not about being strong....... i don’t know what you went through over there... but i know you came out the other side. because you ARE strong”
good papa dean words
much love for him and his emotional avaliability
-
04:26
dean: “whatever you’re dealing with, whatever comes at us, we’ll figure out a way to deal with it. together. we’re family, kid”
sam said it to dean, dean said it to jack
i guess the next step is ...jack saying it to cas?? SOMEONE’s gotta say it to cas
but also WOOOO DEAN’S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT REGARDING JACK SINCE THE START OF THE SEASON
-
04:32
um
is it just me or is this a seriously unfortunate racist-looking coincidence
desperately hoping this wasn’t the guy who killed maggie
(i don’t think it is, which means maybe this is a “don’t jump to conclusions” kind of storyline which has a race-relations subtext??? i wish it meant nothing besides jack’s need to protect others, but given the lack of living characters of colour on this show, the minute a person of colour shows up, it BECOMES about the fact they’re not white, bECAUSE they always die, invariably)
anyway, my point is: this is problematic
also the red shirt. as in “red shirts always die” ??
edit: thank goodness....... RED HERRING
-
“3 sheeps” poster in the background
i remember this symbolism from something earlier but can’t remember exactly what
i’m thinking lambs to the slaughter, or being part of a flock, or being herded into something they’re wrong about, being naive, following each other one by one into the unknown
wow reading tarot has improved my “make a list of all the obvious symbolism” skills
-
04:39
the fact cas is suffering with the angel language whistle is interesting?? i thought it hurts dean because he can’t understand it
which means.......cas isn’t understanding this noise?
or maybe he is understanding, it’s just real loud
-
04:42
enjoying sam being protective of cas
-
lucifer: ........”the three amigos.... sam, dean, and the other one”
that’s probably how a lot of people see team free will tbh
how sad
-
lucifer: “you want a lightsaber?”
jack:
vroom
we mAY HAVE LONG SAID HE’S TOO PRECIOUS FOR THIS WORLD BUT WE NEVER MEANT FOR HIM TO LEAVE
-
04:50
that awkward moment when you’re trying to solve a murder and your adorable magic grandson comes home with the devil
:o
-
the face you make when the devil makes an ableist joke about your son and then says “no offence”
(the ”i would murder you but there’s enough dead bodies in here right now” face)
-
04:56
maggie: “kinda seems like you have... you know, bigger.... satan-y... problems”
bless this girl
-
05:00
dean: “as shakespeare once said: eat me, dick-bag”
tbh shakespeare probably did say that at one point or another
add shakespeare to the list of dean’s bisexual heroes
(follow up thought: what if when cas could time-travel, he and dean and sam went to go explore shakespeare’s town and dean made.... Friends)
-
05:04
lucifer’s talking to jack about their future space travels
i mean i think it’s fairly obvious, lucifer was the one who killed maggie, so he could bring her back and impress jack
maggie said “i didn’t see their face but i saw their eyes” and that means it was either lucifer or michael with the glowing eyes, and micheal said to dean “you’ll be the first life i take in this world” which leaves lucifer
stinking nasty manipulative trash angel
-
05;07
micheal, while strangling dean: “could’ve done this quick, but i wanted to enjoy it, that moment when the soul leaves the body”
yeeeah okay sure, speak aloud your reasons you’re stalling for time while jack figures out how to get back
-
05:10
jack to lucifer: “you’re not my father. you monster”
HUZZAH
-
for the record i’m... reaLLY ENJOYING THIS episode so far
it’s all big and mighty and magical but the core of the story is a boy trying to find his family and figure out the truth behind his manipulative father
i’m so glad it led to this because i am HERE for this kind of story
the world hangs in the balance, but it’s not dean, cas and sam trying to save everyone, it’s jack trying to find his place among loved ones, and by following his desire to help people he’s learning what he needs to know
i fucking love this okay
-
05:14
lucifer: i just need your power--
OH NO I SPOKE TOO SOON
OH NO
-
05:17
michael: “this is the end. of everything”
I SEE DEAN’S COGS WHIRRING AND I WORRY
nine years of not saying yes to micheal and now it’s happening isn’t it
-
05:20
jack’s pained little whimper :c :c :c
-
05:21
dean: “i am your sword”
CHILLS
-
05:22
dean: “CAS I DON’T HAVE A CHOICE”
cas: D:
PERFECT MOMENT FOR AN AGGRESSIVE KISS but nope that would be too much like goodbye
-
05:24
third option rather than sam or jack trying to kill each other: they pick up lucifer’s blade and kill lucifer with it
-
05:26
WHAT
NO
??????
BAD IDEA????
JUST STAB LUCIFER????
-
jack: i love you
NOO ;;A;A;A;A;A;A;A;;A;A
DJSGJD
I’M NOT ENJOYING THIS 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
PLEASE STOP
-
05:27
WELL FUCK
hi there
WHHHOOOOOOO
meanwhile back at the bunker: cas has the weirdest traumatic boner
-
05:29
THE WINGS KEEP GETTING BIGGER
-
05:31
interesting angel flying physics here
dean flails while sailing slowly backwards
i mean i know he’s on a suspension wire but technically waving his arms about ought to affect his position
-
05:33
LITERALLY SAM COULD’VE DONE THAT TO BEGIN WITH
WHAT EVEN WAS THE POINT OF THIS
HE COULD’VE ACTED LIKE HE WAS ABOUT TO STAB JACK AND THEN GO WHOOSH AND STAB LUCIFER
SAM HAS FUCKING NOODLE ARMS HE COULD’VE DONE IT WITH HIS EYES CLOSED
JEEZ
-
05:35
okay but i’m laughing right now
are you telling me this is what happens if lucifer accidentally trips and falls on his knife
where did that golden blade come from anyway
has lucifer just been carrying it around this whole time?
COULD ANYONE HAVE PICKPOCKETED THAT KNIFE AND STABBY STABBY >>> EXPLODING FLYING FLAME DEVIL ??
WHAT BRAIN CELLS WAS LUCIFER MISSING TO HAND THAT BLADE TO SAM WINCHESTER IN THE FIRST PLACE
OR GO INTO BATTLE WITH MICHAEL WITHOUT THE KNIFE
OR TO HAVE THAT BLADE ON HAND IN THE FIRST PLACE ??????????
I’m sorry i just find this hilarious
i mean good fucking riddance to this trash angel but wow what a way to get there
all of this was so easily avoidable ?? i seriously don’t understand what possessed sam to think “aw yeah let’s pick up this magic devil blade to KILL MY OWN SON and/or HAND IT TO HIM SO HE CAN KILL ME” instead of “umMMM the devil just gave me a magic knife and is trying to tell us to kill each other maybe we should kill him with it”
I HOPE SOMEONE IN THE WRITER’S ROOM HAS A REALLY GOOD EXPLANATION FOR THIS
-
05:45
HAPPY RELIEVED SAMMY
why do i feel like everything’s about to go terribly terribly wrong, worse than before
-
05:48
i mean micheal!dean looks good though
despite everything i think dean would approve of the outfit
-
like he actually looks a little bit TOO attractive
definitely not to be trusted
you know when people just look TOO handsome and shiny and perfect and they’re TOO charming and you know something’s up
this guy’s got danger written all over him in sleek & elegant calligraphy
-
05:50pm
mmmmmmmmm okay, it’s over
i liked it ?
felt old-school, kinda like a buffy episode or an x-files episode
things i’m happy about: everyone lived and lucifer died!! this is a pretty cool progression of events and i’m interested to see where it goes (not EXCITED, i’m not EAGER, but i am interested). that black dude was not the one who killed maggie. maggie survived!!!
things i’m not thrilled about: the fact sam didn’t just stab lucifer in the face when he was right next to him holding the magic knife?????? i don’t get it and i don’t think any kind of meta is actually gonna be able to explain how ~UM EXCUSE ME JUST ONE SECOND~esque that moment was
no bechdel test pass
jack’s personal arc this season was great and i love him
as always, this show is riveting to me only because i care so much about the characters, and i cannot tELL YOu how fucking pleased i am that this show’s universe is now a universe where bobby, charlie, mary, rowena, dean, cas, sam, jack, jody, donna, claire, the other wayward girls, and billie ALL EXIST AND ARE ALIVE
seriously could’ve done with some kevin too, i’m still bummed that he’s died TWICE now and isn’t back permanently yet
but HOLY SHIT THE REST OF THEM ARE ALL ALIVE
GIVE ME A TEAM-FREE-WILL-MAJOR SEASON WITH ALL THE SQUAD ALIVE AND KICKING ASS AS A GROUP
like... save dean as a group, then one by one discover that dean and cas have been locked in a room without clothes for three days, then save the world and retire forever as a happy, healthy hunter squad with their gay dads
FUCK YEAH
overall, this episode is maybe a 9/10 just because that FUCKING KNIFE man. i dunno what to think about that.
like .........why
i also want cas to have a season arc!!! a positive one!!! where he actually accepts love and expresses affection and receives AUDIBLE AND VISIBLE AND TANGIBLE affection from others!!!
and for fuck’s sakes stop killing people of colour, give us more women of colour who are good and don’t die, pass the bechdel test more often
AND ABOVE ALL GIVE US WAYWARD SISTERS I WANT THAT SHOW SO BADLY AND EVERYTHING IT REPRESENTS
IT WOULD FILL IN ALL THE GAPS THAT ARE MISSING FROM THIS SHOW
PLEASE

Acts 13
Barnabas, Saul, and Doctor Know-It-All
1-2 The congregation in Antioch was blessed with a number of prophet-preachers and teachers:
Barnabas, Simon, nicknamed Niger, Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen, an advisor to the ruler Herod, Saul.
One day as they were worshiping God—they were also fasting as they waited for guidance—the Holy Spirit spoke: “Take Barnabas and Saul and commission them for the work I have called them to do.”
3 So they commissioned them. In that circle of intensity and obedience, of fasting and praying, they laid hands on their heads and sent them off.
4-5 Sent off on their new assignment by the Holy Spirit, Barnabas and Saul went down to Seleucia and caught a ship for Cyprus. The first thing they did when they put in at Salamis was preach God’s Word in the Jewish meeting places. They had John along to help out as needed.
6-7 They traveled the length of the island, and at Paphos came upon a Jewish wizard who had worked himself into the confidence of the governor, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man not easily taken in by charlatans. The wizard’s name was Bar-Jesus. He was as crooked as a corkscrew.
7-11 The governor invited Barnabas and Saul in, wanting to hear God’s Word firsthand from them. But Dr. Know-It-All (that’s the wizard’s name in plain English) stirred up a ruckus, trying to divert the governor from becoming a believer. But Saul (or Paul), full of the Holy Spirit and looking him straight in the eye, said, “You bag of wind, you parody of a devil—why, you stay up nights inventing schemes to cheat people out of God. But now you’ve come up against God himself, and your game is up. You’re about to go blind—no sunlight for you for a good long stretch.” He was plunged immediately into a shadowy mist and stumbled around, begging people to take his hand and show him the way.
12 When the governor saw what happened, he became a believer, full of enthusiasm over what they were saying about the Master.
Don’t Take This Lightly
13-14 From Paphos, Paul and company put out to sea, sailing on to Perga in Pamphylia. That’s where John called it quits and went back to Jerusalem. From Perga the rest of them traveled on to Antioch in Pisidia.
14-15 On the Sabbath they went to the meeting place and took their places. After the reading of the Scriptures—God’s Law and the Prophets—the president of the meeting asked them, “Friends, do you have anything you want to say? A word of encouragement, perhaps?”
16-20 Paul stood up, paused and took a deep breath, then said, “Fellow Israelites and friends of God, listen. God took a special interest in our ancestors, pulled our people who were beaten down in Egyptian exile to their feet, and led them out of there in grand style. He took good care of them for nearly forty years in that godforsaken wilderness and then, having wiped out seven enemies who stood in the way, gave them the land of Canaan for their very own—a span in all of about 450 years.
20-22 “Up to the time of Samuel the prophet, God provided judges to lead them. But then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul, son of Kish, out of the tribe of Benjamin. After Saul had ruled forty years, God removed him from office and put King David in his place, with this commendation: ‘I’ve searched the land and found this David, son of Jesse. He’s a man whose heart beats to my heart, a man who will do what I tell him.’
23-25 “From out of David’s descendants God produced a Savior for Israel, Jesus, exactly as he promised—but only after John had thoroughly alerted the people to his arrival by preparing them for a total life-change. As John was finishing up his work, he said, ‘Did you think I was the One? No, I’m not the One. But the One you’ve been waiting for all these years is just around the corner, about to appear. And I’m about to disappear.’
26-29 “Dear brothers and sisters, children of Abraham, and friends of God, this message of salvation has been precisely targeted to you. The citizens and rulers in Jerusalem didn’t recognize who he was and condemned him to death. They couldn’t find a good reason, but demanded that Pilate execute him anyway. They did just what the prophets said they would do, but had no idea they were following to the letter the script of the prophets, even though those same prophets are read every Sabbath in their meeting places.
29-31 “After they had done everything the prophets said they would do, they took him down from the cross and buried him. And then God raised him from death. There is no disputing that—he appeared over and over again many times and places to those who had known him well in the Galilean years, and these same people continue to give witness that he is alive.
32-35 “And we’re here today bringing you good news: the Message that what God promised the fathers has come true for the children—for us! He raised Jesus, exactly as described in the second Psalm:
My Son! My very own Son! Today I celebrate you!
“When he raised him from the dead, he did it for good—no going back to that rot and decay for him. That’s why Isaiah said, ‘I’ll give to all of you David’s guaranteed blessings.’ So also the psalmist’s prayer: ‘You’ll never let your Holy One see death’s rot and decay.’
36-39 “David, of course, having completed the work God set out for him, has been in the grave, dust and ashes, a long time now. But the One God raised up—no dust and ashes for him! I want you to know, my very dear friends, that it is on account of this resurrected Jesus that the forgiveness of your sins can be promised. He accomplishes, in those who believe, everything that the Law of Moses could never make good on. But everyone who believes in this raised-up Jesus is declared good and right and whole before God.
40-41 “Don’t take this lightly. You don’t want the prophet’s sermon to describe you:
Watch out, cynics; Look hard—watch your world fall to pieces. I’m doing something right before your eyes That you won’t believe, though it’s staring you in the face.”
42-43 When the service was over, Paul and Barnabas were invited back to preach again the next Sabbath. As the meeting broke up, a good many Jews and converts to Judaism went along with Paul and Barnabas, who urged them in long conversations to stick with what they’d started, this living in and by God’s grace.
44-45 When the next Sabbath came around, practically the whole city showed up to hear the Word of God. Some of the Jews, seeing the crowds, went wild with jealousy and tore into Paul, contradicting everything he was saying, making an ugly scene.
46-47 But Paul and Barnabas didn’t back down. Standing their ground they said, “It was required that God’s Word be spoken first of all to you, the Jews. But seeing that you want no part of it—you’ve made it quite clear that you have no taste or inclination for eternal life—the door is open to all the outsiders. And we’re on our way through it, following orders, doing what God commanded when he said,
I’ve set you up as light to all nations. You’ll proclaim salvation to the four winds and seven seas!”
48-49 When the non-Jewish outsiders heard this, they could hardly believe their good fortune. All who were marked out for real life put their trust in God—they honored God’s Word by receiving that life. And this Message of salvation spread like wildfire all through the region.
50-52 Some of the Jews convinced the most respected women and leading men of the town that their precious way of life was about to be destroyed. Alarmed, they turned on Paul and Barnabas and forced them to leave. Paul and Barnabas shrugged their shoulders and went on to the next town, Iconium, brimming with joy and the Holy Spirit, two happy disciples.

Cruel City: Ep 3/4
Let’s start with the most important thing: Maknae Watch. Episode 3 gave us 5 different scenes, and spoken words. It was a good episode for Maknae. We even learned that his name is Detective Shin. So maybe I will only have to make up his first name. Episode 4 only has 3 moments, but they are all (for the most part) great, so points to the show for making me happy, if only for short moments.
TL;DR: There were a whole lot of twists, and I’m still recovering from most of them. I don’t think a lot of the plot twists hit as hard as I think they were supposed to. Mostly, my thoughts are whirling a lot, which is a testament to how twisty this plot is and how much it will continue to twist and change. It makes me hopeful for the future of the show. Oh, ad as a side note, if they can come up with another danger besides rape for the women, I would really appreciate it.
Thoughts on Character:
Ep 3:
(31:30) Si Hyun’s always been too smart for his own good, huh?
(42:00) I like them continuing to give Si Hyun moments of redemption and mixing them with his inability to accept the redemption (unable to accept people being nice to him). It makes him a more interesting, deeper character.
Ep 4:
(5:45) Younger Si Hyun is so much more optimistic, even if he is already pretty obvious into bad stuff
(37:45) She crazy. I love her v. much
Thoughts on Plot:
Ep 3:
(10:10) It’s sweet that cop guy cares, but let her do her job please
(20:20) I knew no one was safe, but I thought the lead female might be (okay, just a kidnapping)
(29:30) Soo’s there to call out Si Hyun. Which would be great if Si Hyun ever listened
(36:30) Boy you gonna meet you maker if you rape her (namely her beating your ass cause you deserve it)
(44:00) You take Soo to a hospital, but perform self-cauteriziation on your own wounds
(47:45) I didn’t expect him to actually shoot . . . damn . . . this puts police violence a little too close to home
(48:45) Soo was hobbling around, and now he’s just fine?
(54:20) Of course they have a history. That makes it so much more interesting
Ep 4:
(2:40) OMG this crush it too cute
(8:50) How much spitting did he do to get to where he is now?
(12:25) Holy shit really? (this is the first, but certainly not last holy shit moment of this episode)
(14:00) I feel sorry for whatever asshole ordered this hit. Cause he’s gonna die slowly at the hands of Si Hyun
(18:20) See, here’s where her death gets me
(21:20) Of course he just jumps up, b/c no injury on this show is ever serious unless it’s death
(22:00) Of course she’s pregnant, we can’t just let his love die, but his possible child too
(28:10) And now the boys are blaming each other like idiots. Especially Si Hyun. You know who the real culprit is
(34:00) Soo Min is seeming to be thinking fairly clearly . . . oh wait, nevermind
(41:10) How DARE you shoot at maknae!!!!! He doesn’t deserve being the target practice to prove how unrealistically good you are
(45:30) This is why people don’t believe rape charges. B/c bullshit reasons
(47:10) Idle who I feel more angry for Soomin or Doctor’s Son for having to survive the oncoming storm
(49:10) Good, he deserves his fate. At least so far, all the rapists on this show get caught. Or get beaten. They get some sort of punishment.
(57:50) WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?! That extra twist though . . . holy shit . . . Now I get some of his conflict.
Other Thoughts:
Ep 3:
(1:00) Coup d’etat 3 and you still won’t splurge on GD’s song
(14:12) I see you production company. Saving money by reusing the same hallway from earlier
(26:45) I didn’t think this drama went for the obligatory male lead shower. Can’t say I’m disappointed
(44:50) I want Soo’s shoes (through this drama, I will build the perfect wardrobe)
Ep 4:
(16:40) I really didn’t have any feelings about the death of Kyung Mi. I’m sad she died because of how it will affect other characters (Si Hyun, Detective what’s his name, Soo Min)
(36:20) They need to stop adding new characters. I can’t keep up.
(42:55) What is with this show and rape? I mean, all the girls seem to be pretty adept at surviving, but still. They shouldn’t have to deal with rape.
(53:00) I had another ah moment, this time at an actress

Mark 14:26 -- 14:72
26 After the psalms had been sung they left for the Mount of Olives.
27 And Jesus said to them, 'You will all fall away, for the scripture says: I shall strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered;
28 however, after my resurrection I shall go before you into Galilee.'
29 Peter said, 'Even if all fall away, I will not.'
30 And Jesus said to him, 'In truth I tell you, this day, this very night, before the cock crows twice, you will have disowned me three times.'
31 But he repeated still more earnestly, 'If I have to die with you, I will never disown you.' And they all said the same.
32 They came to a plot of land called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, 'Stay here while I pray.'
33 Then he took Peter and James and John with him.
34 And he began to feel terror and anguish. And he said to them, 'My soul is sorrowful to the point of death. Wait here, and stay awake.'
35 And going on a little further he threw himself on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, this hour might pass him by.
36 'Abba, Father!' he said, 'For you everything is possible. Take this cup away from me. But let it be as you, not I, would have it.'
37 He came back and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, 'Simon, are you asleep? Had you not the strength to stay awake one hour?
38 Stay awake and pray not to be put to the test. The spirit is willing enough, but human nature is weak.'
39 Again he went away and prayed, saying the same words.
40 And once more he came back and found them sleeping, their eyes were so heavy; and they could find no answer for him.
41 He came back a third time and said to them, 'You can sleep on now and have your rest. It is all over. The hour has come. Now the Son of man is to be betrayed into the hands of sinners.
42 Get up! Let us go! My betrayer is not far away.'
43 And at once, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, came up and with him a number of men armed with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
44 Now the traitor had arranged a signal with them saying, 'The one I kiss, he is the man. Arrest him, and see he is well guarded when you lead him away.'
45 So when the traitor came, he went up to Jesus at once and said, 'Rabbi!' and kissed him.
46 The others seized him and arrested him.
47 Then one of the bystanders drew his sword and struck out at the high priest's servant and cut off his ear.
48 Then Jesus spoke. 'Am I a bandit,' he said, 'that you had to set out to capture me with swords and clubs?
49 I was among you teaching in the Temple day after day and you never laid a hand on me. But this is to fulfil the scriptures.'
50 And they all deserted him and ran away.
51 A young man followed with nothing on but a linen cloth. They caught hold of him,
52 but he left the cloth in their hands and ran away naked.
53 They led Jesus off to the high priest; and all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes assembled there.
54 Peter had followed him at a distance, right into the high priest's palace, and was sitting with the attendants warming himself at the fire.
55 The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for evidence against Jesus in order to have him executed. But they could not find any.
56 Several, indeed, brought false witness against him, but their evidence was conflicting.
57 Some stood up and submitted this false evidence against him,
58 'We heard him say, "I am going to destroy this Temple made by human hands, and in three days build another, not made by human hands." '
59 But even on this point their evidence was conflicting.
60 The high priest then rose before the whole assembly and put this question to Jesus, 'Have you no answer to that? What is this evidence these men are bringing against you?'
61 But he was silent and made no answer at all. The high priest put a second question to him saying, 'Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?'
62 'I am,' said Jesus, 'and you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of the Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.'
63 The high priest tore his robes and said, 'What need of witnesses have we now?
64 You heard the blasphemy. What is your finding?' Their verdict was unanimous: he deserved to die.
65 Some of them started spitting at his face, hitting him and saying, 'Play the prophet!' And the attendants struck him too.
66 While Peter was down below in the courtyard, one of the high priest's servant-girls came up.
67 She saw Peter warming himself there, looked closely at him and said, 'You too were with Jesus, the man from Nazareth.'
68 But he denied it. 'I do not know, I do not understand what you are talking about,' he said. And he went out into the forecourt, and a cock crowed.
69 The servant-girl saw him and again started telling the bystanders, 'This man is one of them.'
70 But again he denied it. A little later the bystanders themselves said to Peter, 'You are certainly one of them! Why, you are a Galilean.'
71 But he started cursing and swearing, 'I do not know the man you speak of.'
72 And at once the cock crowed for the second time, and Peter recalled what Jesus had said to him, 'Before the cock crows twice, you will have disowned me three times.' And he burst into tears.

Luke 22:47-71, 23:1-56 (Paraphrased)
This is a paraphrased version of how we interpret this gospel in our words today. Hope you enjoy!
47 While he was still speaking, a big crowd and a person named Judas, one of the twelve disciples, went to Jesus to kiss him. 48 But Jesus said ‘Judas you betrayed me with a kiss? 49 When Jesus’s friend saw they asked ‘should we slice him with a sword?’ 50 and one of them sliced off the servant of the high priest’s ear 51 And Jesus said ‘you’ve suffered enough’ and touched his ear and healed him. 52 Jesus said to the chief priest, the captains of the temple and the elders ‘would you come out here to catch a thief with swords and sticks? 53 When I was with you every day in the church you didn’t put one hand on me but this is the time and the dark has come.’ 54 They took Jesus and led him to the high priest house and Peter followed from a distance. 55 And when they lit a fire in the middle of the hall peter sat down with them. 56 A maid stopped him while he was sitting and said ‘this guy was also with Jesus’ 57 But peter denied him saying ‘I don’t know him’ 58 And after a while another maid saw him and said ‘You are one of his disciples?’ 57 Peter said ‘No, I’m not’ 59 And another witness went up and said ‘he is one of the disciples and was with Jesus’ 60 Peter said ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ 61 And right after he said that the rooster crowed. Jesus turned to look at peter and peter remembered what Jesus had told him, ‘Before the roster crows you will deny me three times.’ 62 And peter ran out and cried. 64 The people that were holding Jesus made fun of him and hit him. 63 And when they blindfolded Jesus they hit him on the face and asked him ‘Majesty who is it that’s hitting you?’ 64 And many witnesses mocked him. 65 They spoke falsely against him. 66 The chief priest and elders let Jesus into their meeting and said, ‘if I tell you, you won’t believe me and if I ask you, you won’t answer me or let me go.’ 67 They asked; Aren’t you God’s son?’ 68 Jesus replies ‘Yes I am’ 68 And they said ‘do we need any more witnesses? We heard everything come out of his mouth.’ 69 The whole crowd got up and led Jesus to Pilate’s house. 70 them to not worship Caesar and calling himself Christ a King. 71 "What other evidence do we need? He's already gone against himself."
1 And Pilate asked him; are you the king of the Jews? 2 And Jesus said; If you say I am 3 Then Pilate told the chief priest and the crowd ‘I don’t see what this man did wrong’
4 And they got angrier and said; he’s confusing the people teaching them to be Jews. He started at Galilee to this place 5 When Pilate heard Galilee he asked if Jesus was from Galilee and as soon as he knew he belonged to Herods court he sent Jesus to Herod 6 And when Herod saw Jesus he was really happy because he had been waiting a long time to see him. 7 Herod questioned Jesus but Jesus didn’t say anything 8 And the chief priest and scribes stood there and accused him 9 Herod and his soldiers made fun of Jesus and clothed him in a beautiful robe and sent him to Pilate again 10 Pilate and Herod were enemies but that day they became friends 11 Pilate called the chief priests and the rulers and the crowd and said; You brought this man to me as a criminal and I have questioned him in front of you and I found nothing that he did wrong that you have accused him of. Herod found nothing wrong too so I will them whip him and set him free. 12 Because it was necessary he needed to release on prisoner to the crowd 13 They all said; kill this man and let Barbaras go. 14 Barbaras was in prison for murder 15 Pilate trying to release Jesus spoke to them again 16 But they said; crucify Jesus crucify Jesus 17 Pilate said to them for the third time; why what has he done wrong? I don’t have a reason to kill him so I will then rebuke him and let him go. 18 They were pushy about him being crucified and their voices got louder 19 Pilate then gave them the prisoner Barbaras and gave them Jesus so they could do whatever they want with him 20 As they were leading Jesus they told Simon coming out of the country to carry the cross 21 A huge crowd of people followed and woman followed who showed bitterness and sorrow over him 22 Jesus turned to them and said; Daughters of Jerusalem do not cry for me but cry for yourselves and for your children. Because the days are coming when we shall say blessed are the weak and the woman who can’t have children and the breast that can’t be sucked then they will say to the mountains fall on us and the hills cover us for if they do this in the open what will they do behind closed doors
23 And there were two people who were thieves who were also being led to the cross to die. 24 And when they arrived to a place called Calvary they crucified him and the two thieves one on his right hand the other on his left. 25 Jesus said; father forgive them because they don’t know what they're doing. 26 They rebuked him and made fun of him
27 And people waited and watched and the rulers made fun of him saying he caved others but he can’t even save himself. And he says he’s Christ chosen by God 28 The soldiers also made fun of Jesus going to him and offering him vinegar saying; if you’re really the king of the Jews save yourself. 29 They wrote over him in the letters of Greek Latin and Hebrew THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS
30 One of the thieves told Jesus if he really was Christ to save himself and them. 31 But the other thieve rebuked him and said; Are you not scared of God will I see you in heaven? We are up here paying the price for what we did but this man did nothing to us. He told Jesus Lord remember me when I enter your kingdom 32 And Jesus said; I’m telling you, you will be with me in paradise 33 It was the sixth hour and there was darkness over the whole earth until the ninth hour 34 And the sun got dark and the temple split in half 35 And Jesus cried in a loud voice; I give you my spirit. After he said that his spirit left 36 The commander saw what happened and he praised god saying this really was a innocent man 37 Everyone gathered and saw what happened hit their chest and left 38 All his followers and the woman stood from a distance and there was a man named Joseph and he was a good man 39 Joseph went to Pilate and begged to keep the body of Jesus 40 And Joseph took down the body, wrapped it in cloth and laid in in a tomb in the rocks where no other man had been. 41 That was the day of preparation the day before Sabbath 42 The woman followed after and sat and saw how the body was laid in the tomb 56 Then they put together special ointments and then rested on the Sabbath.

Luke Paraphrase
Jesus’s arrest and crucifixion from the Gospel of Luke (SAFV).
Luke 22:47-23:56
47 While Jesus was talking, Judas came with a group of people, and he went up to Jesus to shake his hand. 48 Jesus asked him,”are you really gonna backstab your savior with a handshake.
49 When Jesus’ followers saw they were going to take Him, they asked him,” Jesus should we protect you?” 50 Then one of Jesus followers sliced the Conference President’s secretary’s right ear off.
51 But Jesus said,” Stop!” And put the man’s ear back on his head.
52 Then Jesus told the conference president, the deacons, and the head elders, who had come to arrest him,”Why did you guys come with guns and riot shields, am I leading a protest? 53 I’ve been preaching around you in the church courtyard every day, and you haven’t even touched me. But now that it’s night time you guys came to arrest me.
Peter Denies Knowing Jesus
54 Then they put Him in handcuffs and took Him away to the conference president’s office. Peter followed a little bit behind them. 55 Peter went and stood with some other people around an outdoor heater in the church courtyard. 56 A waitress saw him hanging around the heater. when she saw his face in the light, she looked closely and said ,” wait, this was one of Jesus followers.”
57 But Peter denied it and said,”No, ma’am, i don’t know him.”
58 When he was walking around later someone else saw him and said,”You are one of His followers too.”
“No sir, I’m not!” said Peter.
59 Like an hour later yet another person saw him and said,”For sure this guy is one of Jesus followers, he’s Galilean.”
60 But Peter responded,”sorry sir, i have no idea what you’re talking about!” And right as he finished his sentence, the rooster crowed. 61 Jesus turned and made direct eye contact with Peter, and Peter remembered what Jesus told him earlier: “Before the rooster crows, you will deny that you know me three times.” 62 Then Peter went outside and started sobbing.
The Guards Roast Jesus
63 Then the soldiers who were guarding Jesus started roasting him and beating him up. 64 They blindfolded him and would yell at him asking,”C’mon you prophet! Who just hit you?” 65 and the soldiers continued to roast him.
Jesus Before Pilate and Herod
66 In the morning at sunrise, the council of the church elders, including the conference officials and lawyers, held a court meeting and Jesus was brought in front of them. 67 “Tell us if you are actually our Savior,” they asked Him.
And Jesus answered,” you won’t believe me if i tell you, 68 and if i ask you a question you guys wont answer me. 69 but from now on, the Son of Man will be sitting on the right hand side of the One Almighty God.”
70 All the church leaders were confused and were like,” So you’re saying you’re the Son of God?” Jesus replied,” You guys are saying I Am.”
71 Angry, they said to each other,” Why do we need any more evidence? We just heard him say the words out of his own mouth.”
Luke 23
1 Then the whole council got up and brought Him to Pilate. 2 The church officers started to accuse him and said,”We found this man guilty of trying to overthrow our nation. He tells people not to pay taxes to Caesar and claims to be our Savior, a king.”
3 So Pilate asked Jesus,” Are you really the King of the Jews?”
“You said it,” Jesus replied.
4 Then Pilate turned back to the church officials and the crowd that gathered,”I don’t see anything i can charge this man for, he is innocent.”
5 but they kept insisting saying,”He keeps riling people up with his preaching all over Judea. He started his preaching in Galilee and has made it all the way other here.
6 When Pilate heard what they said he asked Jesus if he was from Galilee. 7 And when he found this out Pilate realized that he should be under King Herod’s power, he sent Him to Herod who was also in Jerusalem.
8 Herod was glad to see Jesus because he had been wanting to talk to Jesus for a long time. From all that he had heard about Jesus, he wanted to see Him do a miracle in front of him. 9 He asked Jesus a bunch of questions, but Jesus wouldn’t answer any of them. 10 The church officials and lawyers were there too, and were viciously accusing Him. 11 Then Herod and his body guards started roasting him too. They dressed him up in a kingly robe and sent him to go back to Pilate. 12 On that day Pilate and King Herod became friends, before this event they hated each other.
13 Then Pilate called for a meeting together with the church officials and leaders, 14 and said,” You brought this guy up to me and accused him of riling people up and starting riots. I looked into this case and found no reason for him to be guilty. 15 I even sent Jesus to King Herod, and he sent Him back to me because he found no reason to punish him. Look guys he hasn’t done anything that deserves a death penalty. 16 so i will just punish Him then release him.”
18 But the whole crowd was shouting,”Get this guy out of here and give us Barabbas instead!” 19 (Barabbas was put in prison for starting riots and murder.)
20 But Pilate didn’t want to imprison Jesus so he kept trying to negotiate with the angry crowd. 21 But they kept screaming,” Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”
22 Then for a third time he tried to change their minds: “Why? What crime has this guy committed? I don’t see anything he’s done that’s worth a death penalty. So i’m just gonna punish them and then release him from prison.”
23 But they kept shouting and insisting that he should be crucified and their shouts grew louder and louder. 24 So Pilate finally gave in and granted their request. 25 He released Barabbas, they guy they kept asking for and gave Jesus up to be punished.
The Crucifixion of Jesus
26 While the prison guards were dragging him away, they pulled a guy out of the crowd named Simon, he was just visiting from his hometown Cyrene, and they forced him to carry the cross for Jesus since Jesus was too weak to carry it by himself. 27 A big crowd started following Jesus, including women who were mourning and sobbing for Him. 28 So Jesus turned to comfort them and said,”Daughter of Jerusalem, don’t cry for me; cry for you and your kids. 29 There is gonna be a time when you’ll say,’ those women who haven’t had kids are so blessed!’ 30 “‘ they’ll say to the mountains, “Crush us!” and to the hills, “ Bury us!”’ 31 If people are already doing these things when the tree is still green what’s gonna happen when it’s dried up?”
32 There were two other guys that were being executed with Jesus. 33 when they finally got to the execution chamber called Skull, they executed Jesus there with the other criminals, one on either side of Him. 34 Jesus said,” Father please forgive them, they don’t know what they’re doing.” Then the guards gambled over who would get His clothes.
35 The crowd stood watching, and the rulers even roasted him more. They said,” He’s been saving other people this whole time, if he’s really our Savior let him save himself!”
36 The guards came and roasted him too. They tried to get him to drink old vinegar 37 and said, if you’re really the king of the Jews, save yourself.”
38 They put a sign above Him that said, This is the King of the Jews.”
39 One of the criminals who was getting executed kept roasting him saying:” Don’t you call yourself our savior? Save yourself and us too while you’re at it!”
40 But the other criminal scolded him saying,” Don't’ you respect God since you’re getting the same punishment that He is getting? We are getting a punishment that we deserve, this guy is getting punished for being innocent.”
42 Then he looked at Jesus and asked,” Jesus remember me when you go back to heaven.”
43 Jesus answered back,” I tell you right now you’ll come with me to heaven.”
The Death of Jesus
44 It was right around lunch time, and suddenly it became dark over the whole city until about 3:00 in the afternoon, 45 the sun had stopped shining. And the huge door in the church was broken in half. 46 then Jesus cried in a really loudly, “ Father, I give my life over to you.” And when he finished saying it he died.
47 Then the head guard realized what had happened and starting praying to God and said, “For sure this guy was innocent.” 48 When all the people who came to watch the execution saw him die, they all mourned then left. 49 But all of his friends who had known him, including the women who had come with him all the way from Galilee, watched from further back in the crowd.
The Burial of Jesus
50 There was a guy named Joseph who was a member of the the church council, a good honest man, 51 who didn’t agree with what the other church officials had decided to do. He came from a town called Arimathea, and was waiting for God’s kingdom to crime. 52 He went to Pilate and asked if he could have Jesus body. 53 Then he took Him from the execution chamber and dressed him in a suit for his casket. Then he put the casket in a grave in the side of a hill. 54 This was on Friday evening and the Sabbath was about to begin.
55 The women who followed Jesus from Galilee saw the grave Jesus was buried in 56 They went home to get flowers ready to bring to his grave, but they waited to bring them because not it was the Sabbath so they had to obey the church rules.

Luke 9
Jesus Sends Out the Twelve
1 When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 He told them: “Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt. 4 Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town. 5 If people do not welcome you, leave their town and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” 6 So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere.
7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was going on. And he was perplexed because some were saying that John had been raised from the dead, 8 others that Elijah had appeared, and still others that one of the prophets of long ago had come back to life. 9 But Herod said, “I beheaded John. Who, then, is this I hear such things about?” And he tried to see him.
Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand
10 When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus what they had done. Then he took them with him and they withdrew by themselves to a town called Bethsaida, 11 but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.
12 Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said, “Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.”
13 He replied, “You give them something to eat.”
They answered, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish—unless we go and buy food for all this crowd.” 14 (About five thousand men were there.)
But he said to his disciples, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.” 15 The disciples did so, and everyone sat down. 16 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. 17 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah
18 Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say I am?”
19 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life.”
20 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Peter answered, “God’s Messiah.”
Jesus Predicts His Death
21 Jesus strictly warned them not to tell this to anyone. 22 And he said, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.”
23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? 26 Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
27 “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.”
The Transfiguration
28 About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. 29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. 30 Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. 31 They spoke about his departure,[a] which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. 32 Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. 33 As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what he was saying.)
34 While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35 A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.” 36 When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves and did not tell anyone at that time what they had seen.
Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Boy
37 The next day, when they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met him. 38 A man in the crowd called out, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child. 39 A spirit seizes him and he suddenly screams; it throws him into convulsions so that he foams at the mouth. It scarcely ever leaves him and is destroying him. 40 I begged your disciples to drive it out, but they could not.”
41 “You unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you and put up with you? Bring your son here.”
42 Even while the boy was coming, the demon threw him to the ground in a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the impure spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father. 43 And they were all amazed at the greatness of God.
Jesus Predicts His Death a Second Time
While everyone was marveling at all that Jesus did, he said to his disciples, 44 “Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you: The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men.” 45 But they did not understand what this meant. It was hidden from them, so that they did not grasp it, and they were afraid to ask him about it.
46 An argument started among the disciples as to which of them would be the greatest. 47 Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him. 48 Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”
49 “Master,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us.”
50 “Do not stop him,” Jesus said, “for whoever is not against you is for you.”
Samaritan Opposition
51 As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. 52 And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him; 53 but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem. 54 When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, “Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them[b]?” 55 But Jesus turned and rebuked them. 56 Then he and his disciples went to another village.
The Cost of Following Jesus
57 As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.”
58 Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”
59 He said to another man, “Follow me.”
But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”
60 Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”
61 Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.”
62 Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”

He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God,and healed those who needed healing.
