Karai opened the door to find cute little goobers dressed up all spooky. At first, she thought they were her own kids, since they had all gone out to ask for treats as well. Upon second glance, she realized they were someone else's turtle tots.

"Well, hello sweet ones!" she greeted with a smile. "Hang on, and I will go get you your treat..."

A moment later, she reappeared with a bowl filled with Japanese candies, like pocky and morinaga chocoballs. She let each child take a handful of the sweets.

"Thanks, miss!" the Raphael in the bunny outfit said, smiling brightly. "And happy Halloween!"

"Of course!" Karai nodded. "But be warned, I've heard that there are an awful lot of spooks and ghouls lurking about this night... You must be careful or --"

"BOO!"

A ghastly apparition appeared from nowhere, a long and glowing white robe flowed with deep and dark eyes. It howled at the kids, and the poor children ran off screaming with their candy.

"April, I may be wrong, but I'm thinking this is a little too scary for some kids," Karai scolded.

"Ahhh, come on!" she laughed as she pulled the bedsheet off. "That prank was awesome! Oh!! Some more kids are coming!! Quick, get back into character!"

Karai sighed as April donned the ghost costume again and got into position for her spooky teleportation prank. Oh well... Karai didn't fully understand the rules of this 'trick or treat' business, but she wasn't one to question the strange holiday rituals of the future. And besides... it was kinda funny.

Like, she genuinely missed him after the breakup, and he overhears her confiding to a friend; "I just miss him so much! Honestly, I'm almost happy so much is going wrong lately, 'cause if I didn't have all this mess to deal with I probably would have crawled back to him by now!".

What would he even do at that point? All her problems disappearing right away would be far too suspicious, but they're taking her focus off of him!

oh my god. this makes HL feel like such a wile e. coyote goober, plotting to the nth degree only to have the proverbial anvil fall on his head. leaves him gritting his teeth and rubbing his temples because damn it, this should have worked! who's relieved to have messes to clean up?

honestly, instead of trying to reverse the scheme and make their life boring, he just... shows up. he's frustrated that they would admit to someone else that they miss him, that they love him, that they would have "come crawling back to him" if their life wasn't such a mess. fully ignoring HE made the mess of their life, and if he'd kept his nose out of their business, they might be back together by now.

he doesn't want to play games, he wants to say, "I miss you, and you fucking miss me too." he wants to hear them say it to his face.

as much as Homelander loves a good scheme, we all know how impatient and impulsive he can be. hearing so directly that they miss him would override any inclination towards another round of clever manipulation.

I like bugs a lot and had to overcome a small fear of them, but they are so cool!!!! The intro post is a little incorrect/missing some stuff that i have to fix (I spent like an hour+ on the first one then lost ALL of it so i missed some stuff) because millipedes and weevils (Acorn weevils with the huge fucking eyes are so silly) are more of my favorite than mantises, but mantises are super cool nonetheless.

Surely this wasn't the first time he had been bound like this. But it never made him feel this way. Pssh. It must be this new body's fault. Obviously. "I blame you." The Doctor scolded, glancing downward. "And now, nghh-!, I can't concentrate because this blasted body is too distracted with-! Gah-!" Did it really come to this? Getting flustered by being restrained? And having to do something about the flusteredness to get his thoughts in order? Seemed to be that way. The Doctor knocked his head against the stone wall in frustration. The pain stung but not as much as the embarrassment. "Have it your way then." At least he could actually do something about it since his wrists(and the braided knot) were level with his pelvis. He glanced out of the cell, checking to see if the hall was empty. Before starting to rut himself against the knot. He hated that it was working. And hated even more that it actually felt good. And hated even MORE that being bound added to the sensation.

I think this is a record for how quickly into a fic that I made it weird.

As if talking to 'it' would make things easier for him.  "This would be easier if Rose was here." His mind began to drift away with that thought before he caught it. "NOT for that reason. She could untie me or use the Sonic to loosen the ropes." "Wait." Where was Rose? She obviously wasn't captured with him. He would be able to hear her if she was in the same dungeon. Maybe she was on her way? But what if something happened to her? He'd be stranded in this cell with these meddlesome ropes, itchy nose and his tight trousers. Actual, literal hell. Not to mention, he'd never see her again.  "Rose…" The Doctor sighed sadly. "I hope you're alright. If I could just-!" He tugged on his bonds yet again, straining.  Not a budge. He was just making everything worse for himself.  And since he was already thinking about Rose, his mind took a dip into all kinds of gutters.  "Ugggh! I hate this body!!" He grumbled loudly, kicking his feet, which were of course bound at the ankles. 

OH YEAH ROSE IS IN THIS FIC. also yes, I love write 11 as petulant and pouty.

The problem in his trousers was starting to throb and become even more prominent. "Unbelievable. I have half a mind to tear you clean off once I get back to the TARDIS. If I ever make it back there-!"

Would you believe me if I said this isn't the first time I've made a character consider ripping off their junk. It's not.

Rose tended to his ankles first so he could keep his balance while she handled his wrists. "Hello dear." He chirped, his head still feeling a bit woozy from the fall. The Doctor could hear Rose giggle at the pet name. "Missed me?" Rose teased, pressing her specialized Sonic against the ropes that bound his wrists until they limply fell away. "Always."

AHHH! Thank you! The doodles ended up starting cause I was trying to find a Melody of the Box remix I saw long ago. I found a video about Big Bull, and watched it, and was jumpscared by my ancient deviantart drawing of the bull himself!

It made me wonder if they couldn't find any others, and he was my beloved third party member after I had trouble with Epros (A story I will probably doodle for at some point. It involves him getting confused, and just eating nuts meant to be sent to others cause he would attack the party if he did anything else). Then it spiraled into doodling Marlene, and finally revealing to buddies who were not familiar with the game what Stans real form looks like. GOD. I love the goober. I love all these Okage goobers!

okay, it’s over :) 

first thoughts out of the way: not a big fan of this special. it’s like watching a completely different show. it’s not got the PZSHAHH of the normal wizard city stuff and there weren’t a lot of funny jokes or even hearty moments in the thing. 

it suffers from a lack of invested character interactions, much like BMO did. there was not a single main cast member in the whole thing! and like i said before, much of peppermint butler’s character in the show is based on his very sweet relationship to his mother, princess bubblegum, so when they showed a single (hilarious) photo of them together it made me sad we didn’t get any scenes with them together. it would have STOLEN this episode. and they teased the hunson golf photo, and death!!! and jake appeared in a photo T_T last jake appearance. 

it also suffers because Peppermint Butler is clearly not himself, imo he was way more entertaining in the Together Again special, where we seem him back to his “normal” self. 

i dont think peps being a dark wizard was something to “kill off” exactly. i wonder what was going on there? was that actually peps, or was that a spirit he cursed himself with based on himself? we at least know in the future he does become a dark wizard again, and even princess :) this special didn’t answer those questions but lol. 

THE GOOD STUFF, because yes, there was a lot of good stuff! 

God, I’m with Aracle and Maya on this - I LOVE Cadebra and her relationship to Pep. I wish she was even in more of this - I would love to watch the adventures of Cadebra and Pepbut in their first year of school, like in the end credits.

That, imo, is where the heart of the special lay - Peppermint Butler’s attempts to impress himself, versus Cadebra’s self acceptance and desire to follow her dreams of being a goofy goober, no matter what other people thought of her. 

It turned out that Cadebra is a responsible student and family member. I really liked that. Her scenes with Abracadaniel were, somehow, my favourite in the entire special! 

I like that theres a lot of cool magic towards the end of this special, and a lot of HORRIFYING DEATH. It wouldn’t be adventure time if you didn’t randomly kill off child characters. Poor Spader, I hated you but damn, what a grim fate. 

I like that Bufo and Caledonius had this crush/hatred thing going on, but they were part of the same cult in the end. 

I didn’t like the giant peps scene at the end, the monster was extremely milquetoast compared to the madness we usually get in AT. Obsidian, for example, had the awesome Larvo design. Nemesis had some INSANE dark magic!!!!  I wish they drew more from that episode. 

Considering how much Steve Little appears in this special, I do feel bad for Mace (little Peps). He said he would have really benefitted from coaching, but recieved none. He had to re-record his lines 3 times! Judging from his description of events, Wizard City was a hard time for him. 

The wizard school did remind me, heavily, of both The Owl House and OK KO. Personally I was hoping AT would offer me something more insane, but I do love both of those shows, and I know Wizard City was on a really tight schedule. 

I think they should have spent less time on the school bullying plot, and skipped straight to MURDER. 

We did have a cold opening, not on par with Together Again’s at all, but damn!

I am wondering where I would put this in the watch list? I do think it should sit after Obsidian as the third special. The intro scene makes it clear this takes place at the same time as Obsidian!!!

Well, that was it, the last ep of AT for the next few years at least T_T

i think together again was the better finale, definitely. but wizard city feels pretty detached from AT for me, despite the familiar characters it tonally isn’t like the show other than the awesome brutal death scenes.
