I do! And it's WIP Wednesday at the @mi6-cafe, so this is great timing.

I'm struggling so much to figure out the POV of this fic. I've written quite a bit of it using Bond's POV, but I also really like the parts I've written from Q's perspective. Since I shared the latter last time, here's a bit of the former. You can let me know which you prefer at the end (and you can leave the reasoning in the notes!)

There are signs before Q starts choking on his cock. The way Q squirms at the slightest of touches, the way he tenses when Bond dips a thick middle finger into the cleft between his arse cheeks, the way it takes him a moment to grab Bond’s cock the right way, as if he’s unused to the angle, as if his hand is moving the wrong way for him to keep control of it. He’s never done this before.

-starting us off right here: I flip between Gaara’s gender but honestly I maintain the idea he has tboy swag and most of Suna was too afraid to question it for years and now it’s just the norm. Not to mention his general physique and medical neglect aided in pushing off puberty.

-gaara still has erratic mood swings post chin in exams even when he’s getting better and learning. That boy faced traumatic events from a young age and then was neglected and hunted for sport on top of total isolation. That shit doesn’t go away just because a blonde boy punches you with the power of friendship ok.

-that being said I will maintain the idea his siblings Lee and Naruto are the only ones he feels he can relax a bit with.

-also I do not see people making him weird enough. Cause affectionately as someone who like also experienced isolation, trauma and neglect. You end up having weird interests and like just a r e the weird kid. And I mean yes he is the weird kid, but like…… make him weirder you know lol.

- he loves gardening he talks to his plants. He also likes animals, and is fiercly protective of small kids. That amplifies as he gets older and temari has kids of her own.

-I also think he is a funny guy but his humor is super dry or a little dark. But he will catch you off guard and say some of the most out of pocket shit I swear.

-I am a medaru is gaara’s biological kid truther. I’ll maintain the idea medaru was not planned. Lee absolutely stayed in Suna for a longer period of time and Lee subjected Gaara to routine and healthy habits and the stars aligned and medaru happened.

-honestly ever since I read the brunch fic (I linked it I love it please.) I love the idea of modern au gaara incorporating his mother’s ashes into his garden. It’s sweet.

-I also love the idea that the face tattoo fades as time goes on. Like he stops carving out the wound as a reminder and it fades with time which is a lovely show of his character change.

-I also like everyone else believe he and Lee begin corresponding through letters. Particularly I think the letters begun either after gaara’s death, where Lee wrote to him. Or perhaps Gaara begun them because he was growing and changing and felt guilty about Lee and reached out (at Naruto’s suggestion.)

-following the last point, I can never decide if when gaara died in shippuden if I headcanon Lee realized he was inlove with him and had feelings then the moment he thought he lost gaara.

-both Lee and gaara are gossip mongers I do not care. Gaara finds out so much shit and caught the gossip gene from his brother. He is nosy.

-I also think gaara is still a menace. A little shit even. He thinks it’s funny to fuck with people just a little bit.

-that being said I think he doesn’t do it often unless you work with him or he’s really close and you know he would never hurt you now.

- adding onto that, I will also say I headcanon that in his attempt to become more palatable for his people and suppress his mood swings and correct his behavior, he gets taken advantage of more often and gaara just lets it happen more sometimes because he’s afraid of slipping back into the old image. Especially once he feels connected to his people again. Gaara despite past transgressions chooses to be kind and gentle. He always was a kind gentle child. I think that shows a lot more as an adult and that shit takes so much strength.

-I am a rasa hater so. You know. Fuck rasa, he abused all his kids post the death of their mother.

-I also love the idea gaara has super human senses from shukaku. He can see better at night, detect and smell things better. That being said he isn’t immune to illness, he has gotten sick because his health is absolute dookie okay. He doesn’t sleep his immune system is shit.

-he had the fattest crush on Naruto I do not care lol.

-he doesn’t exactly hate sasuke. But he very much dislikes him because he mistreats Naruto.

-gaara is a crier. Like when he isn’t compartmentalizing and disassociating to cope with his mood swings and trauma, he is a leaky faucet.

-also convinced the whole chunin arc was a really fucked up way of him going friend? Because literally the only way he ever learned to socialize is through violence. The whole thing with him showing up at sasuke’s training was he tried to be friend cause he said “oh you’re fucked up too huh? Wanna fight about it?”

-gaara has the earth sign stank face when he doesn’t like something.

-gives solid advice

-modern au headcanons (might be courtesy of the moss cough cough) he would get into therapy and want to become a therapist lol, he gives solid advice. Also the incident with Lee will always be either he hits him with a car or my personal favorite (potentially for a fic I am brewing) he beat that fucker with a lead pipe when Lee tried to be a Good Samaritan and got involved :)

-also love the idea of gaara had substance abuse issues to cope in modern aus.

-oh and I love when shukaku is brought in as a fucking small crusty white dog with bad manners and barks too much. I may be biased because I have a white crusty small dog who barks too much and has an attitude that rivals god himself.

-gaara hilariously doesn’t actually like fighting especially as an adult. He by nature is nervous and it just sets his ass on edge.

-last thing I’ll say, he is a bratty bottom. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

What was Liam's first experience with a sizeshifter?

Ooo I wouldn’t like to give too much away (for angst reasons later one ehehe-)

Liam did not have a good first experience at all. (very bad childhood) His dad and mom are shifters (she can shrink but never does, and his dad can grow) and his dad used his abilities to abuse Liam and his mom a lot. He basically became an alcoholic :/

Shifters in this world can’t pass their abilities to their children, it just kind of happens at almost any age, which is why Liam isn’t a shifter like his parents and why he didn’t just run away when he could Again, I don’t really want to say too much for plot reasons (I am still writing it!) but Liam will eventually talk about it.

Ooooh can we know a little more about therapy session please??!?

'Therapy Session' is for one of my Bad Things Happen Bingo squares (of the same name). It focuses on Dr. Sharon and the work she does with Jamie, starting from when he comes back to Richmond. It also has smaller asides as she deals with the lads as they come to her about Jamie's return (particularly Sam). But also this is for the BTHB card so while Jamie be a’changing and a’growing (and coming to Sharon about How To Friend Sam Properly), Jamie keeps dropping unsettling hints about his dad that has Sharon going, "Well, that's concerning."

Her impression of his relationship with his dad is that his dad is an overbearing person who is used to a certain level of control, someone who makes Jamie unhappy and less confident in his ability to share his emotions. Someone who is verbally aggressive in his opinion. This is sadly normal for her to come across in her profession. So she gives him some advice about how to set boundaries. They practice assertive, non-emotional communication.

Then Wembley happens.

the mcgonagall discourse continues to tickle me no end. anon i for one applaud an encourage any and all childishness. also i agree! dropping people from the christmas card list because you've got major beef with them is a time-honoured and noble tradition and ginny is right to uphold it

i don't want to say too much that will end up in the fic but! i think mcgonagall in beasts thinks she is trying to Do Her Best - for ginny, for the other students under her care, but also for hogwarts as an institution, which is an institution whose mission and ethos she really believes in. a lot of this is is (understandably, and not necessarily wrongly) bound up in her loyalty to her mentor, dumbledore, someone she didn't always agree with but whose vision for hogwarts she consistently throws her weight behind.

minnie's got a huge amount on her plate stepping up as headmistress in 1998. she's the headteacher of a student body who are individually and collectively traumatised, who are only just beginning to process what happened to them, and whose traumas are extremely complex and diverse and don't really have the tools to grasp each other's often very different but no less serious sufferings (obviously the the pureblood/half-blood students who endured life under the carrows during the war and the DA lot who actively resisted the carrows and paid a huge price for it, but also muggleborn students who were on the run, and all those who were in azkaban.) she's dealing with a lot of guilt for all that she couldn't shield her students from (more to come on this), and she's sincere in her belief that young people who have gone through enormous upheaval need structure, routine, accountability, and a kind of compassion that manifests as someone saying no, you can't punch whoever you like because they said something horrible to you. you do have to hand your homework in. you do need to not sneak out of the castle at night and make everyone worry about you. partly this is generational - she was born in 1935, she has a set of ideas about acceptable and unacceptable ways of expressing your distress as a child. but i think this is also a not inherently cruel or abusive child welfare philosophy, even if it doesn't really take on a lot of what we know of how trauma manifests in young people and adolescents. minerva would say: it's my job to look after my students, i'm the adult and authority figure, i need to reimpose and safeguard the social contract that holds an institution like a school together, and also to make sure that i care about each individual student while also managing the impact of students' behaviours on each other. (in canon, she repeatedly does enforce the rules in strong terms and doesn't make excuses when harry - a character who is well within his rights to act out given his life experiences - gets in a fight or fucks up and breaks the rules in ways that meaningfully impact his peers.)

when it comes to ginny, i think mcgonagall sees lots of herself in her. they share a fierce protective streak, they're both very loyal, they're both incredibly stubborn, and they both are petty as hell and show their emotions by way of biscuit/christmas card deprivation. but that also means mcgonagall expects more of ginny than most, especially as someone who rode hard for the hogwarts student body the preceding year. mcgonagall wants ginny to help her keep hogwarts standing and continue to play the part of a role model for her peers as someone (she knows) they look up to. ginny does not want to do that. and mcgonagall's massively frustrated that ginny has (also understandably) held her hands up and said fuck that, role model schmole model, i've gone through it and you're all now saying back to normal and pretending it never happened. what's hard is that they're both kind of right! but neither is able to say it. and that's why gryffindor girlies are so fun and massively annoying to smash into each other when doing the literary equivalent of playing dolls (writing fanfiction)

Also, that is now my headcanon about Vox. He doesn't sleep for 30 hours at a time either. In fact he only goes to sleep if he's either on the absolute verge of passing out or gets dragged to the bedroom by one of the other Vees.

It's not something that I'm proud of or a good habit but its a pretty frequent cycle. (function is a loose term for my state during it) What you said tracks for Vox too I feel like. He probably has a few days that he knows he can be up and functional before he declines in productivity. I think it depends on his schedule though and how interractive or social Vox is planning to be.

oh, that's such a good question! well, you know those days when it's super cold, but the weather is still nice? so you go for a walk. this might sound weird, but there is a graveyard not far from where I live, and it's beautiful, even in winter. I like to sit there and just watch people go by. it's already dark when you come home and you're freezing. but your home is warm. you change into your fave cozy clothes, you make yourself a hot chocolate and end the day with watching a movie (like, a comfort one!). oh, and we can't forget the snacks! or I'd cook/bake something (if I'm not alone, that is). there is nothing that beats the feeling of knowing that you did something nice for people!

Let's see, I already put a first round of five out there, now let's maybe go with five that don't see a lot of engagement but that I still like a lot and think they're very worthwhile!

Flying was prompted to me by @sralinchen, and boy did I have a blast with it! It's an AU with no artifacts or anything, in which Myka flies to where Claudia lives, in order to surprise her - but Claudia has flown to where Myka lives, for the same reason, and so now they're very much not in the same place - and then Claudia asks a friend who lives in the same building to help Myka out. And that friend turns out to be a certain dark-haired British person, in this case with a very sassy non-binary kid. So. Much. Fun!!

Roppongi Tokyo Butler Café was a gift for my wife - we both love Japan, and have traveled there twice, and I hope that a bit of the feeling for that country comes across. It's another "no artifacts" AU, and told in 2nd person POV, which I know is not everyone's cuppa. It has a vibe to it that I find hard to describe - ephemeral perhaps? Eclectic? Let me know which word you'd use!

Through tensed stillness is a little fic in which [spoilers spoilers spoilers] - a continuation of two stories, one by Ericine and one by @ussjellyfish! It's a concoction containing Philippa Georgiou, Ezri Dax, and in the margins Kathryn Janeway and Beverly Crusher too!

Coffee and Chocolate Cake is a little one-shot in which Kathryn Janeway, fresh from the Delta Quadrant, sees Deanna Troi for a psych eval. It's hard to open up - but a little coffee and chocolate cake helps pave the way.

And last but not least, I'll list 1899 (The Prequel? Sequel? Another Reboot?) here as a stand-in for several story premises/set-ups/beginnings that I will probably never finish but wish I could (So Many Wips, So Little Time). There have been several fics and Tumblr essays about how it would go if Myka found herself in 1899, a fish out of water on Helena's turf, and this is my take on it. I still like what my brain came up with, a lot, but the story doesn't have the "keeps me in its grip until I've written all of it" power, unfortunately! HI thanks, i am indeed having a good day thanks for asking!

as for your question, im not entirely sure how to go about answering it, however i can give some tips for developing a style, just in general

do you have any artists you like? im sure a lot of you guys have heard the "take what you like about your favorite artist" speil, but i find its a little more that that.., a lot of times what i find myself doing is taking an image that i like, and well, trace it (its not just tracing work with me here lmao)

alternatively i draw against it, if that makes sense, like use a reference, which is also really helpful because im not relying on the image that much (especially because i cant focus on looking at the drawing and the picture at the same time, so usualy i just look at it and draw from memory, would suggest, sorry for the tangent tldr use reference sometimes too! dont just trace lol back to tracing though ig lmao)

for this im going to be using this image

and the program i will be using is firealpaca (its a nice free software i like using for digital art, but thats not important right now)

i start off with this generally, as you can see, the image is lower opacity, on a separate layer, and although its not rainworld, its the first thing i saw mildly interesting on pinterest lol

alright now i have the iddy biddy bits done, i traced over the general pose, and now im ready to move on.

here is where its a little more than tracing

i turn the original picture off, and lower the opacity of the traced version, and then just, draw over it i guess.

i like to try to think about how the body would, idk, fit there, like if i was there how would i look? would i be stiff? relaxed? so on and all that. the goal here is to learn from tracing it, not just trace mindlessly if you get what i mean. be mindful about what your drawing

anyway heres the next stage, as you can see i wanted to deviate from the original image, that way im not making a carbon copy of the image. i do think the image is pretty good for practice though, as its a pretty dificult pose (at least for me) and i can use the (albeit very little) knowledge i have on foreshortening on the arm, idk man its a really cool image and i like how challenging it is, i really had to struggle to make it look right.

i wont be adding any more detail to this, but its generaly how i go about learning and tracing art

side note, im sure you've heard of this before, but dont post art you traced as yours, and if you do, add the original image before your drawing, and give a disclamer

What's the last song you heard that made you think of Wilmon?

slakljdjg can I say the entirety of The Tortured Poets Department? because... i mean just about every single song reminds me of them, one way or another. whether it's the being broken up (The Black Dog, loml, Peter, The Albatross) or the more happy teenage love songs (The Alchemy, so high school), somehow, I'll find a way to make it about them.

Okay, maybe not everyyy single song... no idea how I can spin Clara Bow or But Daddy I Love Him into a Wilmon song, but a good chunk.

Though, I think the one where I really just think Wilmon is The Black Dog! The watching someone's life through a screen post-break up ("And so I watch as you walk/Into some bar called The Black Dog" vs Wille seeing Simon sing karaoke on Ayub's story), not really getting how someone can just forget everything that happened ("how can you just be over me? over us?"), realizing that no matter how much time passes, you will never fully be able to move on.

And of course the most important line: "Old habits die screaming", because of the way they can never truly let go of each other - even when it's bad, even when Simon tries to move on and find someone else, he will always be drawn to Wille (I think that line especially applies to season 2)

this is such a hard question because i love so many of them, but i think if i had to choose it would be between mudkip and charmander! bulbasaur is also pretty high up there too !! i feel like its kinda basic to choose the starters but also i always get very attached to my starter pokemon because i have them from the beginning of the game right until the very end like they are the one pokemon i keep in my party from start to finish <3333
