as an ex bishop excommunicated from the church, adrian's view of sin has since diverged from when he was younger. he'd been a "wicked, wicked, man" before finding god (a childhood featuring neglectful parents, leather belt punishments, and petty crime that slowly escalated into violence of his own) and although he claims himself new because of it, his younger years play a role in his eventual separation from the institution. unlike his fellow believers, adrian does not view the bible as fact (the fact that its scripted by humanity gives him doubt) and thus sins of olde -- including the rejection of gender variance and differing sexual orientation -- does not strike him as sin. at its core, sin is in harm, whether towards others or towards oneself. and unlike the preachers and pastors that spoke from their pulpits, adrian's history of violence (and frankly anger) led him to deliver judgement with his own hands. (some of the sins he seeks punishment for are: murder in any form - including the drinking of blood or biting for transformation, violence - mostly physical, and liars/cheats/scammers - ranging from adulterers to corporate leaders that steal from the poor.) adrian's claimed awareness of his own actions, and apparently reconciled with the fact that he's sacrificed his seat in heaven for the sake of duty. that being said, he's given himself a self-importance because of it - carrying himself like a holy man even with the claim that he isn't.
